Lynn, happy to hear our Tuesday line-up is not re-runs!

Watergate cake is new to me...has pistachio pudding in it and is so moist...to die for! One of our helpers made it!

Hello, hello! Did some field tripping after work & saw some neat stuff!
Early this AM, 4 really pro birders were there w/their scopes, binocs., etc. They set up right next to the Visitor's Center & were looking mostly at treetops. I went out and overheard mention of both kinds of orioles and both tanagers!!, indigo buntings and a brown thrasher. I got my binocs, & then camera. Only got pic of one variety.I was reminded of our buddy, Suzanne's morning welcome of "keep your eyes to the skies"! That's the truth~~I will be more vigilant in the future!

Tis early but I am tired. Will be back at school tomorrow to take care of two students who have to do a makeup exam and a student who cannot use appropriate English in an email but submitted two near-professional quality papers.

So, have set the night light for 11:00pm for all those headed back the hallway, down to the tub, up the stairs, to the recliner, or just stumbling around in the dark. Restful sleep.

Judie said...

Doing a Margy.

Wanda, so glad the soup kitchen and clothes closet was good tonight. 16 may not be a full house but you have some full and happy visitors.

Laughing at the rain. That is cute. Did Lisel see Myrtle?

Diann, nice you tried some seafood. I would gladly relieve you of that chore.

Hi Lowreeda!

Okay, I'm really leaving this time to see if I can catch the last few minutes of a First 48 -- it's all your fault Jo.

Restful sleep.

Hi everyone. Only read back on this newer part of the blog. Hedgie
My Daphne was a puppy mill dog. She always hated the sound of rain if we were int he ca.r Rain hitting a metal roof. I think she always flashed back to the time in those awful cages where she spent the first 6 weeks of her life out side with just that metal roof cover. Trembled the only time I ever took her through a car wash.

Well my yard is all mowed and trimmed. It was a very cool almost "cold" job. Tomorrow maybe sunshine and I Have flowers to plant and pot etc etc. Tonight may be light frost so they are all in my sun room. I so need to see and enjoy those signs of spring.

PaNana I honestly have no clue if Belles' hormones are off. Sure sure has had one very difficult nesting season. Maybe another thing to learn by watching and seeing. I seriously doubt they would actually produce an egg and raise any young this late in the season. Perhaps they mate all year but Belle is only fertile at certain times. I am no eagle expert. I just love them and happen to live where I can enjoy them if I want to freeze my butt off to do it LOL

magpie said...

Super news about Fin-Ferry ad Finney One
I have been watching and watching and watching and wanting to climb into the computer to get a better look!

Thanks Lynn...for the Osprey Egglet news for those nests

Loretta.....I have heard a scarlet tanager, have to go back to the the site to wait him out...

Hello Eagle Pals ☺

I wasn't too thrilled with NCIS, either, Wanda. Kind of dumb.

Diann----I LOVE crabcakes! So does Jo!!!

hedgie said...

Good night to Judy and Judie.
Good luck tomorrow, Judie....will be anxious to hear how it all turns out.

magpie said...

Well let me clarify something
James does not have FOUR grandmothers, I meant,
the Other Two Grandmothers, cards for them.
We might work on one for me too ☺

hedgie said...

Judie, Liesl DID see Myrtle! No reaction!! But Myrtle closed up, so....Liesl maybe thought she was a rock!

Glo, it is just SO awful what those poor dogs go through. I'm sure you've looked at some of the posts I've put on our AAWV page....the MO situation is SO disheartening. Votes obviously don't mean a thing there.
Glad you got your yard all spruced up!

hedgie said...

Loretta, were those folks part of a bird club? You could probably teach them a lot!!

hedgie said...

Goodnight, Margy....too bad you had to work over. Late Mother's Day Card is NOT good!! Hope Big James stepped up a nd helped James get one in the mail.
Rest well.

paula eagleholic said...

Diann, I'll take your crabcakes!

Lynn, that's cute about Liesl barking at the rain...I remember Boo used to bark at his reflection!

Thank you Mother Nature for holding off on the rain tonight so I could get the back yard mowed! It is raining lightly here now.

paula eagleholic said...

Margy, my live feed was funky too..I ended up restarting my computer, but then I had to go mow, did see Truder and Belle in the nest.

evening all!

I have been hacked. It appears that someone got onto the blog pretending to be me earlier, and said I was eating M and Ms. I did not eat M and Ms today. Evil hackers...LOL LOL LOL!

Glad Myrtle has returned for another year!

So sad about the 'possums and the babies.

Linda, can't wait to hear what kind of birds you've got...could they be barn swallows? See if you can see long, split "scissor" tails.

Margy, sorry you had to work too late to have some James time today.

Judie has perverts. Hmmmm. Wonder what Darth thinks of that?

Andy, EEWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!

Lolly, I am so ashamed......Linda made me do it.

Lynne2 said...

Not only is Lynne telling an untruth she is blaming someone else! For shame!!!!!! Lynne, Lynne, Lynne!

Lolly said...

Yea, Lynn! Liesl is just perfect for you. Is she playing a lot with her toys?

paula eagleholic said...

Kay, so sorry to hear about the possum and her babies...poor thing. So sorry Seth had to see that.

Nice gentle rain here, for once!

paula eagleholic said...

Shirley, hoping for the best for your biopsy. Think positive thoughts!

hedgie said...

Lolly, she does play with her toys. Her attention span is much longer than Mai's was. And she seems quite content to stay where I am and not go getting into trouble the moment I divert my gaze!!

ARGH....SB on computer. Ugh---flushed.

hedgie said...

So sorry the rain didn't stay on this side of the interstate, Megan....:( But at least it hasn't been heavy.

PA Nana said...

INVASION OF THE STINK BUGS!!

Lost count today but looked at our window that's near the big tree and it is covered with those stinkers.

Would be happy to share my seafood with Lynn, Lolly, Paula, and anyone else. I should clarify that I do like scallops - the big ones, sea scallops I think. But they're so expensive and with these guys and their HUGE appetite would be too much for the wallet.

What's going to happen on the Good Wife? Anyone have an idea? What's Kerry up to? I don't trust him. 2 more episodes for this season. Darn.

Lolly said...

Well, I will definitely eat any crab cakes if they are not wanted. LOL

Lynn, forgot to tell you. We got out the cushion for a yard swing and found 4 or 5 stink bugs on them. Once again....thought of all of you!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Gang,
Dropping in to say goodnight and see what's been happening.

Regarding the "job interview" fiasco yesterday, I e-mailed one of the other 2 gals who are in Externship with me, and told her the story. Waiting to see what she replies, because I think she was supposed to go to the same place that I did. We may want to talk to the Dean together.

Whew, it's still 80 something here--hope it's cooler tomorrow! I've opened up the house to try to cool it off.

Belle and Truder have an interesting relationship, to say the least. I think she sticks with him just out of
necessity.

Lynne2, the secret to not eating M&Ms is not to buy them! That's the only way I can stay away from them!LOL :o]

We got the cutest "care package" in the mail from Jay, our oldest GD, and her roommate, Stephanie. They sent a doggie outfit for Emma, 2 different kinds of gourmet dog treats, and a pretty purple and white Kong for our little chewer. God bless them! Emma is so pleased!

Sorry to hear about the 'possum situation. Poor babies.

Megan, hope you were able to get most or all of your planting done. Had to water and water plants myself today--this crazy weather has mine parched! Please send me some rain!

Well, think I'm going to go veg in TV land. Judie, thanks for the night light! I'm checking to make sure the porch light is on. Enabling both security systems, too. Saying prayers for everyone, and for all creatures. Sleep tight, and I will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight!
Love all of you! :o]

Diann, LOVE scallops---sea or bay, either one! YUM!

Lolly said...

I think I am going to put up the puter for the night. Time to take a nice hot shower and get comfy.

I will see all of you in the morning.

Lynn, give Liesl a snuggle from me.I will probably never have a dog again, but oh, I do love them.

Night all! Sweet dreams!

Just saw your post, Lynn. Do not think the stink bugs are the same as your, but who knows? I am not a stink bug expert!

hedgie said...

Thanks, Andy. I am feeling so good about this little gal!!
Hope the other gal had the same experience you had and you tag team it with the Dean. Good luck.
I'd gladly send you some rain if I could!

hedgie said...

Heading for tub. Liesl is asleep. Book awaits and then bed for me, too.
Prayers for all. Peace.

hedgie said...

Oh---Diann....I looked up the character on the DVR---we both spelled it wrong. The guy is Cary---don't know WHAT he's up to, but know it's NO GOOD!!!

paula eagleholic said...

I am beat, so am heading to bed. Steady rain now.

Hugs to all ♥

PA Nana said...

So, it's Cary, like Cary Grant. Forgot that spelling. He's up to something though. Maybe we'll find out next week.

Going to say my goodnites and watch Caroline Kennedy on Letterman.

Hope everyone has a great night and blessings all around.

Catch up with you tomorrow.

Kay said...

Update on the possums and then I'm off to bed.

They assumed mama gave birth upon falling into the pool, but I'm thinking a couple were jarred out of her pouch when she landed. Hugh went in and picked her up with no fuss by her over it. Once he had her in his arms he could see there were 3 dead babies in her pouch and he removed them. He also thought she was in rough shape, but when he set her down on the ground she scurried away, fast ! So, he buried 5 little possum babes---what are their babies called?---and then covered the pool back over so no other poor animal will stumble in. Looks like it's going to be a week or two before the weather allows for the painting to begin. They did the prelim work early because they're going to be out of town this next weekend. My granddog, Malcolm, will be staying with me while they're away. Yeah ! ☺

Hey, Lynn, good for you on that medical retirement and the way you've hung in there. Retirement really is GOOD for us !

Costume Lady said...

Diann, I always fall asleep during the last 5 or 10 minutes of GOOD WIFE (tired after Soup Kitchen), but I did get to see Cary with Floreck(sp) and he is definitely up to no good...don't know why!

JudyEddy said...

Possums Yikes I have them also on a regular basis They have taken up residence in my overhang on my house On my porch when I first bought my house had a exposed overhead screen walkway Well I didn't like it because if it rained you got we going to the porch so I had someone put metal up there Well now with that metal it makes a perfect hideaway for raccoons or possums I have had them both I keep a light strip light up out there 24 7 to keep them away when the light is on they don't come around but if the light goes out they come back and set up housekeeping My phone had gone out and to find out the raccoons had chewed through the lines and had babies up there that is when I discovered it years ago so now I just keep a light on there and they don't come back
I guess the rain is keeping our guest away I think I hear rain on the cam box I was up early even But one thing coffee wasn't ready I set my alarm but didn't reset coffee pot Had to wait for my coffee LM I guess Need to get ready sitting her in bra thinking they would show up

Had a little time this am before the children got in here, so decided to drop by and give you all a cheery "HI"! Hopefully I'll see you all later. Have a nice day.

Good morning everyone. Sorry the birds were a no show this am. They are probably sick of the rain too. I see sunshine. I so want to plant some flowers today. Its 35 here. Hmmm guess I'd better check the long term temp forecast before doing much of that today. Gosh ya know you could actually learn to spell on here. You may chuckle as I have known for a while we get that red squiggly line on here with misspell/typo, but I never knew til now that if you right click on that it will give you some fix it options. LOL.

OH and its official. There was a wedding at Elia's kindergarten class last week. Q and U got married and they will "always be together" Kids had punch and cake to celebrate the Royal Happening.I hear the Queen couldn't come because she was at a different wedding.

Good Morning in this rainy land. I see I missed DanaMO and JudyE. Others have been in Lynne2, Glo, Candy Megan, KayIM, Margy and Lori and Lurkers.

Sorry Megan someone turned on the switch and hasn't remembered to turn it off for awhile.

Margy HUGS George scan came back not in the bone. I spoke with him the other day.
He is in good spirits. I told him you knew but that I didn't put a last name. That everyone on here was praying for him-prostate cancer drugs, shot and some kind
of scan once a week; though not for info. Scan is for the cancer. Does something to it.

Lynne2 you are getting wonderful birds. I know you have a smile on your face.

Lori sad thing to have to write about. That baby is just buzzing all over rainbow bridge or heaven.

Thanks Lori about the 3 at WCV. Watched them some yesterday for very short time.

A gentleman is in with them and was talking to Lilly and pointed his finger at her - I thought she was going to take his finger off as she jumped toward him! He laughed!
Lilly is 1 week old today. Hard to believe already! She is bounding about as if she were older! Lacey is a tad off today - 9 day heat coming?

Good Morning, Everyone!

Guess Belle and Truder are sheltering from the rain. Sorry they didn't show up at the nest this morning.

Megan, I wish the rain would stop for you! Doggone it!

Lynn, sure does sound like Liesl has bonded with you! Guess she wanted to go with you to get the papers!

Well, they are predicting a high of 91 here today, but at least it's supposed to be cooler tomorrow and Friday, and down to 68 by the weekend. That will be a relief! Gosh, they say we may have AM drizzle on Monday!

I have English homework to finish, and gotta study for class tonight. I'll be checking in once in a while, though. Have a good day, everyone! :o]
