magpie said...

thanks Wanda !
I plan to download my red columbines later on this evening

Judie said...

Sure have to extend my condolences to the ant on the cam -- Boris could strike at any moment. Oh, newbies, Boris is/was the resident spider that annually spun its web to obscure of view of the nest at night.

magpie said...

lots of wild geraniums perfect violet color all on the down side of Parks Gap Road...can't find a place to stop pull over and snap pictures !

magpie said...

Andrea!
That whole mess is totally whacko..agree you could and should have that inept "assistant's" job...
prayers for resolution of all that

Shirley
you have my prayers added to the multitude here....
try to relax about it...and think positive...

magpie said...

Jo:
I would go to Megan's with you with one large umbrella and one small one,
Sissy has my second large umbrella !!

magpie said...

Judie
Congratulations on your Graduation !
Steady as she goes...that ankle will come along for you, I truly believe...

paula eagleholic said...

Here are the baby robins....

http://paulasprints.blogspot.com/

Hard for me to tell how many there are....Mrs Robin was feeding them when I got home :)

magpie said...

My nephew, the Navy Seal, is home-stationed in Virginia Beach...I guess he could have been on THE team, though I might not ever know for sure
He left before Christmas for a six month deployment to the sandboxes

magpie said...

Wanda:
You do see what Shirley's avatar is, right ??
How clever of you Shirley!
There are about 30 or so us could do the very same thing !

magpie said...

Nice what you mentioned mid-day JudyE about talking to your manager bout the incident Lyne endured yesterday at Wally World up here ♥

magpie said...

Congratulations Paula !!
on the baby robins, surprise surprise !
am going to check pictures links to yours and Hedgie's soon !

paula eagleholic said...

Well, Andy, if that isn't the weirdest day...I think I would find someone at school for a better explanation....or to complain too! Does not sound professional at all! And hardly any instruction!

magpie said...

Neither Truder or Belle stayed but a few moments tonight
Belle landed in the nest right as the Rainshower started !

Judie said...

Forgot earlier. Had an email from GW saying that a large contingent of students joined the festivities in front of the Wh.House. Those are my wannabe adults!

I'm going to miss my therapist. She's a really nice lady. Daughter at UVA so we had some common ground other than my being crippled.

Going to elevate the offending ankle. Will return to set the night light. Hope we hear from Andy soon.

magpie said...

haven't read all the comments yet, well on this thread I have...
everyone has some really nice things to and about each other
It is very heartwarming ♥ and comforting

magpie said...

and Hallelujah Red and Diane made it home to their roost.
Funny, Red, you said for us to treat you as a newbie...
Nooooo Waaaaaay !

magpie said...

I don't get the comment Lynn mentioned that Sissy put on FB about England...
guess I am not politically astute enough about these things

might have to figure out why something about a funeral would be funny :(

magpie said...

Pa Lynn Linda!
I would like to make a road trip please to your place...
for all the great birds you are seeing, AND for the home-made bread !
I have seen true red-headed woodpeckers just a few times, a stunning bird

magpie said...

Paula THANK YOU for making notification to Steve about the frozen still cam !
And Thanks Steve and the Gang for the Quick Fix !

Hoda said...

magpie, the way I took the comment about the wedding in England and the funeral given to Osama Bin Laden is a matter of national pride.Like card game betting terminology. The Brits put on a show and the Navy Seals put on a more spectacular show...amazing really how it all unfolded and no US casualties at that...that is how I took the comment. I am glad the lads involved in the operation were all safe and sound. You must be very proud of your nephew and I hope you all do not worry about him too much.God Bless him and keep him safe.

hedgie said...

Thanks for Interactive map, JudyE. When I went to save it in my fcavs, it said it already existed. Well....since I couldn;t find it before, I said Yes, to replace it!

Wow....don't think I've ever seen a post repeat itself THAT many times. LOL!!

JudyE----please don't type Tbird----I think you are saying that THelma (aka T-bird) has flown in!!!

hedgie said...

Liesl and I had our very first Jeopardy session---she laid on her BACK on my lap and snoozed!!!

hedgie said...

Gee, that's the second alligator/cop car story in recent months!

Linda said...

Margy - You are welcome ANY time!! I'd love you to visit....and so would my birds, hawks, turkeys, deer, ground hogs, squirrels, bunnies, foxes, mountain lions, and whatever else is roaming around here. We've seen them all!! Even one bald eagle on ONE occasion!

We'll cook good for you, too!!

stronghunter said...

I was watching CNN last night, Judie, and they kept saying that a large number of those at the White House were GWU students.

I was not surprised when Rus joined them. And I am sure Jo would have been there if she could have. (I kind of think her hubby probably would not let her out of the door.)

magpie said...

So now I have officially opened up the Jo's fresh May E-M album with one picture of Truder....so very sorry I did not get a screen grab of Belle !!!

hedgie said...

Completely forgot to tell you all that the t-shirt that Sharon got me from the Bob Seger concert has an eagle on it!!

Hoda said...

Paula, The baby Robins are adorable...I counted four??? Thanks for posting the link.

magpie said...

nest getting dark..wonder if that is poop shoot glowing at the 7 spot, remember someone mentioning seeing that pre-dawn this morning

Linda said...

Paula - Congrats on the baby robbins. We had a nest on a rail just ouside our sun room and I absolutely loved watching the Mom, Dad and babies all the way until the day they fledged. I even ran around the property following the baby. So did Mom and Dad. Then watched them around the house for days. It was so much fun.

She'll never come back.....since she now thinks I'm the paparazzi.....and she was probably annoyed with me!!

Jo - I think you were talking about PA Nana's avatar - the Harrisburg falcon, right?

hedgie said...

Andy, that all sounds like the biggest bunch of you-know-what. PLEASE see someone in charge at school and tell them the whole scenario. Something smells rotten in Denmark!

Glad your robins hatched okay, Paula! Cute.

MArgy, it's probably very possible that your nephew could have been involved in the action!

magpie said...

Thanks Hoda, makes more sense...I think I got it, the explanation...
about my nephew...I do hope that he was part of the operation. His wife was so very scared about his going on this deployment, she is a retired Navy pilot herself...
home alone with their two young boys...I will be very relieved when he is Stateside once again
Either way, he is part of the Seal Family...so he IS a part of it

Linda said...

Oh yeah, Margie....We had a beautiful bobcat in the backyard on Christmas eve in the snow one year. I'd be afraid to go outside, but Dennis went out on the deck and got a picture.

Once I figure out how to post pictures, I'll post some of our critters!!

That red headed woodpecker picture my husband got today was beautiful!

stronghunter said...

Loved the baby robins, Paula.

hedgie said...

Judie, you must have missed Andy's post!! It was a very weird situation at the end, too!

Linda, your place sounds like mine---except I've had coyotes instead of mountain lions (tho' I've heard them) and only possible sighting of juvie eagle twice this year.

hedgie said...

HO-HO-HO----just found a Liesl baby tooth on the floor!!!

Linda said...

We've heard the coyotes, too. I hope they're far enough away. I always worry about my dog chasing after one some day.

Linda said...

Lynn - the tooth fairy is coming tonight......How cute is that??

magpie said...

Lynn,
totally adorable, Liesel

Paula,
totally adorable, the baby robins!
How is Nugz??? nothing serious, about his going to the Vet's I hope

magpie said...

ooooops
make that Liesl
sorry, Lynn and Liesl

hedgie said...

Yep, Margy....once England entertained the world, the USA trumped them by saving the world!

magpie said...

saw DanaWV's neat avatar on the old thread

And I love Pa-Nana Diann's also !
cute little falcon baby and parent

see, I am away all day and then come and magpie the blog post numbers up...

going to disappear for a shower

Thanks Linda for the invite...sounds like a real wildlife refuge up there !!

ttfn xoxo

magpie said...

yeah thanks Lynn and again Hoda...guess I was just a little dense about it

and do I understand correctly that neither President Obama nor Tony Blair were invited to the Royal Wedding?
Harumph !

magpie said...

guess that would be another matter I am polically dense about

Shirley,
I enjoyed reading what you said Rus reported about his visit to the White House last night....

okay, later....

Linda said...

Margy - They said that because it wasn't an official state affair, they didn't invite heads of state or people like that. Only if they were friends or wanted the to be there for other reasons.

stronghunter said...

I think Obama had enough on his schedule as it was.

hedgie said...

Thanks, Linda. Was just going to tell Margy the same thing!!! It was NOT a political occasion.

DanaMo said...

Missed Belle! Darn...more rain...darn...

TIRED...I'll "see" the early morning crew. Good night, night owls. This early bird is signing off.

stronghunter said...

Thanks, Margy. I thought Rus showed some excellent insight into what he saw and heard. He posted several videos and I could hear some Spanish in some of them.

Lynne2 said...

check out the filly, she is half buried under hay!

Linda said...

Good Night Dana....

stronghunter said...

Good night, DanaMo.

Lynne2 said...

I'm pooped folks.....going to get to bed. Love you guys, have a good night and prayers for all! Especially Shirley! And for Andy and the Fuster Cluck that is going on....Really unacceptable.

Hope the tooth fairy brings something special for Leisl!

Linda said...

Good Night, Lynne!! Sweet Dreams and God Bless You!

Lynne2 said...

step AWAY from the bread Linda!!! You just send it down here....I'll eat it and save you!

Linda said...

Okay, but I thought you were with me in this attempt to lose weight. I have to keep it from you, for your own sake........only cuz I love you!!!

Linda said...

The worst part is the smell that lingers for HOURS of that fresh bread. I love the smell, but it makes me HUNGRY!!

Lynne2 said...

HA! I am failing miserably. Smoking, not smoking, eating too much, eating well....I'm so conflicted. LOL!

Linda said...

Yeah, me too!! My husband just asked me if I wanted a bowl of ice cream with him. Of course I didn't want him to have to have some all alone......

Lynne2 said...

hahaahahahahahAAAA! Too funny, I get that same problem a couple times a week.

Linda said...

It's so hard...... I wish I could take something that just makes me lose my appetite or maybe even something that makes all the things I love taste bad for a while!!

Scott said...

Just wanted to share with everyone that I took another trip out to my nest this afternoon, what a show. Found a 3rd healthy baby in the nest. Mom, Dad and all three posed for a few hours. Watched mom fly in and feed the eaglets. The last 81 photos at http://raptors.vaphoto.com are from today. And I also took HD video. They are all uploading right now, but one can be see on Facebook.

Linda said...

Looks like more rain is coming east across the country. Here we go again......more rain!

Judie said...

Well, I raced across the hall to escape the sandperson who is lurking outside the bedroom door. I am going to set the night light for 11:00pm. Tomorrow is exam day so need some sleep. Of course, I have had more than a few emails: can you give the way to access the videos you showed in class? That would be NO! Anyway, I'll be back late tomorrow. Restful sleep for all.

Linda said...

Can't wait to check out the pictures, Scott. Thanks for sharing!!

Linda said...

Good Night, Judie!!

Lolly said...

All right, girls! You are going to have to be firm, strong and determined to loose weight! And, Lynne, shame on you! Stop that smoking! We want to keep you around as long as we can! We love you!

Lynne2 said...

magpie said...

That's wonderful, Scott...and so happy to hear from you
and I will check out your pictures

magpie said...

A perfect day for that kind of joy

Hoda said...

Well I am going to be between our blog and the Canadian election results tonight. 45 more minutes before the polls close in British Columbia and then we can start hearing about how Quebec and Ontarion voted. They usually reflect the results as they hold the most seats in Parliament.

President Obama was invited by the Queen to a State Visit to the United Kingdom. The invitation went out before the wedding...He will soon be going there and I think she showed a lot of respect and admiration to him and the First Lady Michelle the last time they were there. It will be good to follow this visit. The British papers report that Tony Blair was snubbed by not receiving an invitation though...

Linda said...

Okay, Lolly.....I'm going to try harder, too! I pray for strength every night, and when I get hungry I completely forget until after I'm done eating that I was supposed to be dieting!! LOL!

magpie said...

also, Scott, appreciated your kind and insightful remarks about the things going on at NCTC
(from your post about a week ago )

very happy that you were able to share some of your time up here, there

Linda said...

I think that is Colleen - the owner of the Lacey and Lilly!

magpie said...

Checking in before doing the do!
Wow, just read a super little story on AOL news about "little- known spy agency" helping track courier in and out of the Bin Laden fortress. It's the OTHER NCTC you sometimes see when you google!National Counterterrorism Center in Rosslyn, VA!

magpie said...

I would like to end out the night though, expressing profound gratitude to all the efforts of those that went into the demise of Osama Bin Laden....every military person and many civilians....for years, has gone into this;
so many millions of people affected, sacrifices rendered....impossible to put this into words actually.

magpie said...

my mind had to be on my work today, we were busy, but my heart was in so many other places ...

Good Night Precious Friends

Are you going to bed yet??

I think I'm heading upstairs, folks.

My neck is getting tired, which leads to a migraine, if I don't get off the computer.

Sleep well eagle friends. Hugs and prayers for all. ♥♥♥

magpie said...

Thanks again Hoda.... for your attention to my questions and wonderings ...xoxo ♥

Linda said...

I second your sincere gratitude for our military, Margy.

God Bless our Military and all those involved.

I don't celebrate anyone's death, but Bin Laden was an evil man who hated Americans and Christians.

Night!!

paula eagleholic said...

Great news, Scott!

Scott said...

@paula I know! Every time I go out it gets better and better..Thursday I went out and saw two babies today three...mom and dad were everywhere just waiting for me to move and get them....Mom left for 5 min and came back with food so all is well. The next few months are going to be a blast.

Get good rest!

Scott said...

@hedgie no, actually I was only there for about an hour and a half...:)

hedgie said...

Margy, you weren't insensitive! You just didn't "get it" the irony!

Hoda, hope your elections turn out the way you want!!!

Shirley, drink some of your warm milk before you go up to help assure that you sleep well!

Linda and Lynne----you both HAVE the will power----just grab it!!

Hoda said...

Magpie, it was wonderful our conversation tonight. I think you are a warm and caring person and you have your heart in the right place and a VERY BIG HEART at that... God Bless you and keep you and thank you for reading my words.

hedgie said...

Liesl is down for the night---I THINK! She cried for a minute or so, but now is quiet.

Amazing video of the hummer tongue. Mine are fighting a lot over the feeder.

Goodnight dear friends. Many prayers for many concerns. See you tomorrow. Hoping that the weather is better so I can get something done!!

Hoda said...

OH NO!!!! The prediction is for a Conservative Majority Government...not at all waht I wanted to see. The good news however is the Seperatist Party from QUebec The BLOC they are called has lost a major number of seats and The New Democratic Party has made major gains, they are set to become Her Majesty's Official Opposition...The Liberal Party will no longer be Her Majesty's official opposition...

LORI, Thanks for your kind words. Gave Emma a couple of gourmet doggie cookies from you!

Thanks to SO many kind hearts for your prayers and comments regarding my dilemma today!

JUDIE, Congrats on graduating from PT today! Fantastic! Keep up with the exercises, and with time I bet your ankle will improve even more. BTW, thanks for the night light!

SHIRLEY, glad Kathryn is going with you on Friday, and that you have an appt. for next Wed. already. I'm sure that today was an IMPORTANT learning experience for your radiologist! Sometimes doctors forget that they are dealing with PEOPLE, not just symptoms.

SHARON, saying prayers re your possible move back to Bluefield. You certainly can be proud of Andrew! You raised him well!

LYNN, AWWWWWWW! A baby tooth! Hope the tooth fairy is good to your little girl!

MARGY, you certainly can be proud of your Navy Seal nephew! God bless and keep him!

PAULA, LYNN, & LYNNE2, thanks--I AM going to try to get an explanation from someone at school. MTBR....

LYNNE2, praying that you will beat the smoking, and be able to lose weight. I TOTALLY understand your conflict. I've been there, done that, soooo many times! But type 2 Diabetes was a MAJOR wake-up call for me 3 yrs. ago. Now I don't dare cheat much!

PA-LYNN, praying for you, too. Hang in there!

Oh, LYNNE2, LOVE the hummer/nectar video! Fascinating!

Ms Bookworm said...

Well, need to call it a night. Am checking to be sure the porch light is on. Thanks again, Judie, for the night light! Enabling both security systems. Have so many on my prayer list tonight! (No wonder the Scriptures tell us to pray without ceasing!) Hope everyone sleeps well tonight. I will talk to you tomorrow.
God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]

Hi Kay! Yes, between terrorists and tornados my morning shift is keeping me busy! :)

Kay said...

Hopefully terrorists and tornadoes will now calm down. Tis' the season for tornadoes, but that last go round was WAY too much.
