DanaMo
You'd have to HAVE this computer of mine to believe how it operates

live feed slows down blogging ...
your directionals are great !
helps with the report this morning a lot !

I'm going to try to get some notes together If I Can Read My Writing !
If you are still watching, keep keeping notes !

DanaMo said...

Well looks like all is quiet now. Nice color. Today is that race for the birds on the NCTC campus so I wonder if they will be scarce today.

DanaMo said...

Okay...you must have a dinosaur. I have both windows open along with a few tabs and mine is running pretty well. My computer issue is that mine heats up, but it's done that almost since it was new and my son has the same model and it happens to him as well. I have all kinds of fans that I keep blowing at it. If it gets hot I have to close it up or it's useless.

These times and directionals are rough, folks...couldn't keep up with the goings and comings...
Check DanaMo's notes also for times and directionals, we were tag-teaming it !

DanaMo said...

Good job Margy!

magpie said...

I think I missed a few things

The pair seemed compatible, at times were quite close together,
touching for sure,
maybe one beaking

when I said that Spot looks awful, I meant, the spot on Truder's head

got pics, a few, will post them before I leave for work if I can

DanaMo said...

eeww...work on Saturday. Have a good day. I have housework ahead of me. I think I would rather be with my kinders except with housework I can stay in my jammies.

magpie said...

Okay Gotta Go!
got four pics in, one shows the birds very close together..
one is out of order, the last one
sorry Jo !

Morning all:) Here's today's nest weather- Mostly cloudy. Areas of drizzle this morning. Areas of fog this morning. Highs in the lower 50s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph
I'll never get all the comments read, but see that I missed Truder and Belle this morning. Have to go pick flowers, later gators!
Have a great day everybody!

stronghunter said...

Good morning. My bed and all things here seem to be intact this morning.

Did a quick read-back of the messages since I left last night. See that Belle and Truder have been at the nest. Also saw a little bird steal some of the straw from the nest.

I am being serenaded by a mockingbird this morning.

paula eagleholic said...

Morning all...

Cloudy here today

Read Danamo and Margy's account of this morning's visit

Guess I need to keep looking up....took dog out this morning ...it was quiet...spoke to dog...eagle took off out of the tree in my yard...was an adult...didn't even know it was there until it took off...flew around then headed south

Time for coffee

stronghunter said...

Wow, Paula! Eagles right in your yard. Maybe you should try putting a fish or two out there just to see what would might happen next.

paula eagleholic said...

Lori have fun at the parade...really want to get down to DC to see the trees one year

Lolly....I think I may bring "Palmer" down here!

paula eagleholic said...

Cool idea shirley...sure am hoping to see the eagle or osprey catch some fish this year

Enjoy your quiet weeekend!

stronghunter said...

Hope you do get to see eagles and osprey catching fish and that you can get videos, Paula.

stronghunter said...

It is quiet here this morning. I did a little online shopping for a table. There are lots of them to choose from. I'll check for lamps, too.

I hope Hunter and Kathryn are enjoying their fishing trip. It was supposed to be Hunter's day with his dad, but they swapped so that Hunter could do this.

Kind of interesting that it is Kathryn taking Hunter to visit Tom's parents. Her way of keeping things as normal as possible for Hunter.

T-Bird said...

Good morning my legendary eagle peeps.

stronghunter said...

Good morning, Thelma.

stronghunter said...

There is that little flugg thief again.

stronghunter said...

Two of them.

paula eagleholic said...

I have scared mr eagle three times this morning...lol

Guess I'll figure out soon enough where to look

Think the osprey may be incubating....they chirp at everything and are really loud!

stronghunter said...

You will find the best spot to observe them, Paula.

hedgie said...

Morning, Shirley and Thelma! DanaMo must be digging into the housework, and Margy is at work....have heard her a couple of times.
What a way to start your day, Paula---eyes to the TREES!!
Shirley, hope you have a very relaxing weekend. Seems like since the visit is with Tom's family that it should count as HIS weekend!
Blackbirds--whatever kind they are--are sure exploring our nest. Bickering a little between themselves, too.
Thelma---are you home dogsitting, or did you go WV-home, too?

DanaMo said...

I'm lurking...not getting much housework done. Being lazy! Did a little online shopping and thinking about doing some more. Might head over to lowes to check out this new product for refinishing cabinets "in one easy step" LOL! Right?

stronghunter said...

Noticed the bickering between the blackbirds, Lynn. They would be smarter to look out for eagles. There is really a plentiful supply of nesting materials, but they are risking their lives getting it.

paula eagleholic said...

There was just some sort of feeding frenzy back in the creek....did I tell you there are egrets here too

Oh found out the peacocks used to belong to someone but they escaped and they are wild now...more than 2 running around

Time for breakfast and the paint brushes...later!

stronghunter said...

Oh, I am envying you Paula. I would love to have a place at the beach.

stronghunter said...

Peacocks can be noisy. I remember hearing them in Williamsburg.

stronghunter said...

Paula, you are painting all of the paneling? Wow, you have your work cut out.

stronghunter said...

A bit ironic that she is taking care of the visit to his parents. I agree on that, Lynn. But it is important for her to keep a good relationship with them. And Hunter wants to see his dad.

stronghunter said...

Can't wait to see the results of your efforts, Paula.

DanaMo said...

I think I need to get some flowers today for inside the house...I can't take much more of these cold temps. I need some SPRING NOW

stronghunter said...

Know what you mean, DanaMo.

DanaMo said...

Shirley, I was just on your picture blog and I love the story about the Penn State Students. Where did you find it? Is it okay if I forward it to some friends?

stronghunter said...

I got it at school, DanaMo. Have fun with it.

Lolly said...

Well, curse words! Just typed a book and then could not post and lost it all. Grrr. Will try again.

stronghunter said...

Waiting for your book, Lolly.

Lolly said...

Second try!!

Good morning! I will share my spring with you. Noticed out the window that I now have more Iris blooming. I love Iris!

Paula I think Palmer moving to the beach house is a great idea! Very appropriate! Can not believe he was in your yard 3 times this morning. Sorta like the hawks in our front yard.

Lynn, loved the two news stories you shared last night. My heart melted with the Papa Bear story and pictures.

Shirley, glad you reported in and made it safely through the night.☺

Goiing to walk soon. We usually do not walk on weekends but yesterday we did not walk but ate out instead. Whoops! So, walk today we will! Groan!

Mema Jo said...

I think we're going for 1000 count today.. Good Morning Friends.
Paula sounds as though you need a
tree cam and a trail cam! Have a good painting day and hope Nugz doesn't brush the paint.

Great coverage this morning DanaMo and Margy.

DanaMo - did you get a pic yesterday of HP?

Shirley - hope you find the table & the lamp perfect for you.

My internet connection over on FF wasn't too connected this am hour -
I am using IE.

stronghunter said...

Must get ready for my morning errands.

hedgie said...

LOL.....here's a well-named new disease from the cartoon cells of Beetle Bailey: HLLS=Hyper listless lethargy syndrome......great one, huh? That's how all this dreary weather makes me feel!!

wvgal_dana said...

Good Morning Friends.

Prayers that Genie ask for Kim. Prayers for Lynne2's Mother In Laws friend Kathy and family for lost of husband. Prayers for Susan and Grey (Grey Mother). Prayers for Christine's Dad to continue to improve and healing. Prayers for George with prostate cancer.

Christine we don't want you as a Momsters to feel left out. So if you don't have stinkbugs this summer where you live. We will send plenty to you....alive not dead ones. ( :

Keep an eye out everyone when Intruder comes in see if that wound is on his nostril please...thank you.

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie-Lynn what is the name of the store at the Outlet that you buy your "snickers lol sneakers"?

Lolly said...

DanaWV..rest assured that that Momsters to the west and out of stink bug territory do NOT feel left out when it comes to stink bugs. It is when you get together, that we feel sad and left out. sob sob!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,

Fell asleep with Emma while watching TV and never got back here last night.

Getting ready to shower and head out to breakfast with Hubby and Sis-in-law. Will be back later today to check in.

Know there are more prayer requests, so praying for everyone, and all creatures. Gotta get going. Have a great Saturday! Later, gators! :o]

stronghunter said...

Probably some kind of law against sending stink bugs to non infested areas, DanaWV. You would surely have the population in that area upset with you.

Mema Jo said...

Lolly - your feeling sad & left out is how all of us feel when your
flowers bloom before ours. LOL

stronghunter said...

True, Jo. Lolly gets an early spring, and Andy gets the Southern California climate.

stronghunter said...

Lolly can't be too sad when she is already having her dinner outdoors.

stronghunter said...

BBL. Must get into street clothes, as Jo says.

Leona said...

Morning everyone!!!

Paula an eagle in your back yard. That's cool. I so would love to leave close enough to see them everyday.

I have added more captures to my Decorah and My 30 Challenge blog.

Kay said...

Margy and DanaMo, you make a great tag team ! I got my wish and slept late today, but rested easy knowing my fellow early birds would do a comprehensive recap of any nest events. Belle's rebuff of Truders advances this morning is interesting. I'm thinking he took her by surprise yesterday when he so suddenly swooped down on her. She probably would have given him the cold shoulder otherwise.

Will be lurking off and on as the day progresses. Have a good y'all.

Kay said...

Oh, Hoda, and any other newbies, thought I'd pass along a suggestion made by one of the regulars several weeks ago. When you have time take a look at each of the momster/dadster profiles. A good way to get acquainted. There are some amazing pictures on many of the blogs. What a bunch of talented men and women you'll meet there !

Lolly said...

Well.......a lotta sympathy I got here.......geeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzz! LOL

And, your flowers will be blooming when mine will be parched and drying up!

Went outside and took some pictures. Jack called me out as hundreds of cedar waxwings were roosted in a tree above his truck. Poor truck! I will post pictures later.

Not going to Denton today for games. Can you spell...NASCAR?
Yep, it is keeping me from my grandkids today. Thursday they were already loaded with RV's.

paula eagleholic said...

So I walk out on the beach with Nugz....he sees the osprey standing on the nest and takes off full speed down the beach....there is no stopping him...he 6thinks he's gonna get himself a bird, lol

The osprey takes off and flies around chirping ay Nugz....a few moments later Nugz comes back down the beach...guess he realized he could'nt get that bird lol

T-Bird said...

Margie and DanaMo, thank you so much for the play by play.

wvgal_dana said...

Paula that place is going to be a lot of fun for Nugz and you and the family.

Well need to go look for athletic shoes.

bbl

Lolly said...

I can just picture Nugz, Paula. Too funny!

I am off...walk and dig in the dirt. On my menu for today. Oh, and quick trip to the heron nest!

Mema Jo said...

I am very thankful today that the gov't will keep trying to work on this budget..... I pray the extra time before another shut down threat will be enough time for them to get their act together

Mema Jo said...

Oh Paula - what do you think Nugz will do with the peacocks? You might get some good feathers!

Mema Jo said...

I am going to do the same as Shirley and head for my street
clothes. I have an errand to run.

PammySue said...

Hello out there.

I just stoppped in to say hello. I read a couple of posts. I see there was a morning visit. And Paula, you are so lucky--to have an eagle in your yard. Holy cow.

I may peek back in before I leave for my parent's in about an hour. If not, have a great day. ☺

Judie said...

Good very late morning. Slow start for me today. End-of-semester blahs and still have an exam to write.

Welcome back, Hoda.

Mornin Margie.

Mornin, Thelma. How you been?

Mornin Megan. Have a good market day.

Lucky Paula. Enjoy the eagle and the osprey chicks. So cool!

Egrets and Peacocks? What a glorious location for you, Paula.

Lolly, will you be holding a book signing?

Thank you DanaMo and Margie for the morning activity update.

Thank you so much Lynn. Now I know what's wrong with me -- HLLS. I be sure to mention this to my doctors.

Okay, need to get busy. Will continue to try to catch up later - yeah right!

Judie said...

Well, forgot: PammySue, enjoy the day at your parents and playing with the nieces.

Shirley, happy furniture hunting.

Jo, street clothes and your eagle cane.

Lolly, enjoy the walk and NASCAR and just take your Mojita outside.

Hi KayIM and Leona.

Bye

cccccccccccccccccccccccc

GOOD MORNING,

EVERYONE.

cccccccccccccccccccccccc

Kind of overcast and dark in So Cal this morning. Rained a little overnight, and it's supposed to warm up fairly well by afternoon.

Is anyone else having problems with the cams?? The NCTC site doesn't even open at all for me this morning.

C(°Ù¿°)D Jim

DanaMo said...

Lori...if you are out there lurking. I bought that Rustolum product that I was telling you about. Didn't tell my husband though ooops. It's a surprise for Spring Break LOL!

DanaMo said...

hmm...I just refreshed with no problem, Jim. Maybe close your browser and reopen it.

movin said...

I think it's the FWS site with the problems.

When I clicked on the camera links on the front page of this blog, the live feed came up instantly, but the still camera failed to open at all.

C(°Ù¿°)D Jim

hedgie said...

Pam, hope your weekend is fun!

Judie, hope you get that exam finished up so you can relax!

Paula, can't believe your aviary!!!!! Lucky!!!Hope you do find peacock feathers.....don't think they are protected!!!!

Robyn said...

Good afternoon caught up on the blogs, nice that they slowed down just a bit :) Hope everyone is doing well today

Paula I am envious, eagles, osprey's, peacocks and the beach

I'll try and catch up again later, thanks for the sightings posted. Big week with class report and quiz and dinner at Kobe tonight for my nephews b'day dinner.

hedgie said...

Jim, I can't get the still cam to play, but got the page up with a black image screen. Maybe they disabled the fws site before leaving Fri. due ti pending shutdown....??? same on FF and IE. :(

Kay said...

Peacock feathers ! No, they aren't protected. Years ago I was a front desk clerk at a Laughlin, NV casino. A Texan came to my station to ask for access to the safety deposit box he'd used to safeguard a very large jackpot. When I handed him his money he said, "You know you've been so nice, I'm going to give you a tip !" Whoopee, I said to myself ! He reached in a jacket pocket and pulled out two beautiful peacock feathers. I was nice, but a bit deflated as cash would have been so much more useful. Eventually I gave them to a wide-eyed and appreciative grandchild.

hedgie said...

Robyn, how is Tori's mouth feeling??

Kay said...

Robyn, is Tori going to be able to enjoy the delicious birthday dinner at Kobe ? Hope she's doing well !

hedgie said...

Y7 is doing a great job of bringing food into Isla...she rejected his morning attempt at HP, so they suspect that eggs may be imminent within a few days. Nest is looking more ready by the day!

Robyn said...

Tori is doing good, mouth a little sore where stitches are so she is going to stay home with her friend. I think she is afraid to try and eat something a bit more solid.

Hoda said...

Good Morning all, except it is good afternoon in the eastern time zone. Missed the morning sighting and enjoyed catching up on the blog, thank you. Kay IM thank you for the suggestion to check out Momsters and Dadsters blogs for pictures and such...Judy thank you for the welcome. I will figure it all out in time and meanwhile it is wonderful to have this spot to stop in for a visit through out the day...I go to Yoga practice every day so it is something I look forward to in terms of returning here and visiting with you all through the blog.Paula's beach house sounds like it is in a very good wilderness area, enjoy and thanks for the updates.I like it that when you all sign off you wish each others wellness and put people in your thoughts and prayers...thanks again, I am off to see what my day has to offer besides yoga...

paula eagleholic said...

Waaaa...no still cam here either

Jo too late...Nugz has paint on his butt already!

hedgie said...

Hoda, hope you find something fun to get into!

Robyn, sorry Tori is still having some discomfort----thankfully it does get better fairly quickly!! Mouth is a fast healer!!

hedgie said...

LOL, Paula.....load the tail and let him be a brush!!!
Do you have any sun at the B???? Not a glimmer here.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Gang,

Hubby just dropped me off at home so I can get some homework done while he fills up the car (Eeek! $4.09/gal. for regular!) and does some shopping for a couple of things we couldn't find yesterday.

I see that I missed a nest visit. Thanks to those who wrote an update!
The live cam seems to have more color in the picture today! Well, better go get busy on homework. Will BBL to check in. Have a great Saturday! It's beautiful weather here--big, puffy clouds in the blue sky, sunny, and warming up just a teeny bit. Nice and crisp outside. Later! :o]

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn...I saw some just for a moment over yonder...it is a little brighter here

Lolly said...

We are home now from heron watching. LOL Thought it appropriate and put the heron pics on my Eagle and Panda pics blog. ☺
We saw about 6 nests, all with herons either standing or sitting. Walked around the very small lake and saw one heron fishing.

Now heading out to work. Later Gators!

hedgie said...

Birds in nest!!

hedgie said...

Flew in together.
No sign of wound on Belle's beak.
There might be something on turdbirds, but he's not cooperating for a good look. Digging in flugg....
And Belle poofed.

hedgie said...

And poof, Turd.

hedgie said...

And he's b-a-c-k.

hedgie said...

Breezy at nest....not here.

hedgie said...

Juist looks like a stain on his beak when I take it full screen.

hedgie said...

Belle and intruder flew in together at 2:51.
2:53 Belle poofed.
2:54 Turd poofed.
2:55 He returned.

3PM--he's still there.
3:01--he left.

Christine said...

Good afternoon friends. DanaWV, no thanks on the stink bugs! I have plenty of ugly insects around here to keep me creeped out!!

Thanks again for the prayers. My dad is doing well and they're talking about moving him to a private room this evening...which means he's breathing on his own!! YAY! I send my prayers out to all who need it (and those who don't) today!

Did someone say NASCAR??? I'm supposed to go to a friend's house today and watch the race but worried about the storms coming and my dogs being alone. Does that make me a wimp?

I work at the Windshear windtunnel here in Concord, NC....check out windshearinc.com. We get almost all the race teams from NASCAR and some from Indy, GrandAM, F1, etc. I LOVE racing!!! :)

hedgie said...

What a cool place to work, Christine! I love RACING.....and NASCAR is easier to watch than Indy or F1. If you look at my profile, you will see that Grand Prix is omne of my most fav movies!
You missed all of our talk the other night, I think, about racing...and my man (as well as some others here) Dale Earnhardt. :( One of the saddest days of my life when we lost him. My GM plant was in the division that sponsored him (Goodwrench) and met him at work twice.

DanaMo said...

Very cool Christine. Didn't realize that the race is tonight. I will be watching it, although I don't have a favorite driver anymore. Since Terry Labonte retired, I watch but don't have a driver. I do however, have some I root against!

stronghunter said...

Hi,

Back from furniture shopping. I lucked out with the table. I found a white table at Pier 1 that matches my other furniture so closely that I do not think anyone will imagine it is not part of the original set. They even put it together and carried it out to the car for me. I know it will be so much better than what I was using.

Time will tell about the lamp. I could not find a hanging lamp that I liked at the store, so I bought a floor lamp at WalMart. It is in about a million pieces and needs to be constructed. I do not know how easily it will fit into the spot I have in mind.

Christine said...

I like Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne...in that order :). Kasey's mom is one of my best friends here and we have a blast together! I've seen my dad cry twice in my life, when my mom left and when Dale died. It was a very sad day for the sport and it'll never be the same. I was a huge Bobby Allison fan in my younger years, then Bill Elliott! I've met Bobby a few times, but not Bill yet.

stronghunter said...

That does sound like an interesting place to work, Christine. I grew up hearing about Concord and have driven by the racetrack there many times.

Christine said...

What are ya'll talking about with Truder? Is he injured?

Christine said...

We're about 2 miles from the track right at the end of the runway at Concord airport. It's definitely a cool place to work. I see things that few people get to experience. I'm sooooo lucky to be there and I know it and appreciate it :)! I'm the only female there too and do all the administrative functions!!

stronghunter said...

I think some have seen what might be a wound on his beak, or maybe just dirt or remains of something he ate, Christine.

stronghunter said...

My mother was at University Hospital there on 29 in Charlotte. They said that it's where they sometimes take people who get injured at the racetrack.

Christine said...

That is the closest trauma hospital to the track.

stronghunter said...

I am still hearing mockingbird songs.

stronghunter said...

We spent a lot of time there when she was still with us. My children had a close encounter with the geese that inhabit the lake across the street.

stronghunter said...

We knew exactly why a sign was posted forbidding the feeding of the geese. The sign went up some time after my kids were chased by hundreds of hungry geese.

Christine said...

Yeah, geese can get mean!

I just posted some pics of the iris that sprang up in my back yard! They're so pretty!

In the background is my latest hobby, making beaded suncatchers. Made a few bracelets the other day too. I'll post pics of them in a bit.

DanaMo said...

ooooh beaded suncatchers. That sounds pretty.

stronghunter said...

Yes, Christine, happy to learn that you have good news about your father. And I hope you will post the pictures of your suncatchers.

Good afternoon everyone. Have much to catch up with, so I'll be back later.

Did anyone see the nuthatch in the nest stealing some fluff about 2:20? Pretty bird but so small on this nest.

stronghunter said...

Oh, didn't see the nuthatch. We used to have lots of them when we lived in a house surrounded by oaks.

paula eagleholic said...
