Decorah cam is really blowing in the wind. Thought those little peeps were going to blow to Kansas while mom was feeding them. Think I have my geography right... not real sure.
Dad finally arrived with a fish or maybe I have the parents confused. Either way the one peep is a bullhead. Feeding them again.
Looked in on NBG and got a poop shoot right in the face. lol
Sometimes it is better not to try to analyze too closely what is in an eagle nest.
They are careful to direct the poop shoots away from the nest, but there is plenty of other unpleasant stuff.
I agree with you, Shirley.
I am off now to try to find some dinner. Dieting is driving me crazy, but just a few weeks to go.

Yes Strong, I was in south Charlotte and we got a lot of hail! The storms were really bad down there, but back here in Huntersville it didn't look like it had been as bad.
I was glad to see the eaglet at CRC weathered it all just fine. He/she's big enough now though. The babies at Decorah however.... They look like they're going for a big/cold ride!
DanaMo, I sent you an email asking for yoyur address.....momsters yahoo doesn't show the whole address, so couldn't forward the email with the wax story, and there was no way to attach the cheat sheet.

When Belle and Lib have visited the nest in the off season before, I do not remember them digging in the nest and pulling stuff up.
Good Evening - just caught activity in the nest. I have been to Market - Saw
Megan and talked for awhile. The Music
there today was exceptional.
Then Jenny and I hung out the rest of the day with Aaron & Val. We were unable to drive over to the nest due
to our activities.
BAD tornado in western Iowa earlier today....60% of town of Mapleton damaged. No fatalities. 10 min. warning......
Spots in the nest are looking very colorful tonight. Or, are my eyes going?☺
Christine, glad the hale missed your town. Any new word on your Dad today? Prayers continue.

I see some colors, too, Lolly.
Grrrr....don't get me started on speed limits. I would love 85 in some places! Almost all of the roads here used to be 55....they are now 35 or 45, which a lot of dummies think means 35. ARGH! They also removed the majority of passing lines. Our section of I-81 is 70, but it's only for 22 miles---VA and MD sections are 65. Yep, I have a need for speed. Have always had a lead foot.....but never one speeding ticket since I was 21!!!!

It was lovely to see Belle she seems so much more regal than Truder, how does she tolerate him I wonder...Liberty had close to the same class as she does...I do not understand these goings on...
I wasn't driving! That's my excuse.
However, as we crossed the bridges over the Potomac and Sesquehanna rivers I really got teary
eyed knowing that Liberty was probably
out there flying high in the thermals.
It really hit home - you know 'reality'

OH! My Dad called me this evening!! They say he's recovering much quicker than they ever would've expected. My brother and I are starting to plan a visit down there (Houston) around the beginning of May :) Thank you for all your prayers!

Well, I must say I have never seen that kind of behavior. Sure wish we had sound. Yes, it looked like he was screaming at her, as well as beating her with his wings before the HP. ????? I do NOT like this bird!

Bad weather in Iowa or as we used to say in Quebéc "Dirty weather"...I hope all are safe and prayers sent to those who are in difficulty because of it.
A visit by Belle and Truder, he again engages in HP activity and she leaves the nest shortly after...how does she stand him I wonder?

It was violent rape! He screamed, beat her with his wings and then the HP. Wish we had video of the action.
I did get one picture of them in the nest before the HP.
He has really changed since he was so submissive.
I am surprised Belle puts up with that behavior. Of course, we do not see everything.
If anyone had any doubt that this is not Lib, I hope they saw this. I cannot imagine him doing something like this. Nor can I imagine Belle allowing it.
I think it was yesterday, Truder was preening, had his wings spread a little. His feathers underneath looked completely different than Lib's. No, we never saw behavior like that from Lib.

I find myslef upset that he vocalized so strongly and flapped his wings so violently, she did have her wings slightly opened though and she seemed like "Oh Well" as she flew off...probably asking "what was that?"
