whoppee doo doo snowing again for past hour or so....
Heading to bed now...long day ahead tomorrow digging out. Supposed to still be windy, as it is now, and so far so good with the electric. We haven't seen a plow go by all day, but I am not surprised. Looking at traffic cams, the beltway looks pretty good so hopefully they'll have time to start side streets now.
Jo, I am so sorry about Tigress. But I am glad she passed in her sleep peacefully at home as you had hoped. (((HUGS))) to you and the family.
Good night, and prayers for everyone's safety...and that no one looses power!
Oh, we've had to put Daisy in a straight jacket now.....LOL!
Jo, I am SO very sorry about Tigress. I know she was very important to you all... but so thankful that she went peacefully in her sleep. That is the best blessing. (((HUGS))) Love you, gal.
Safire, I don't think there has beenthis much snow on the ground here in the Eastern Panhandle of WV since 1966 from what I remember my ex and his family talking about. And never this much before in DC area! Too bad we can't ship it to Vancouver---they NEED it fast.
snow tapering off here, I think, actually a snow plow has been up and down our street, did 6 passes, had looked at county map, and they had suspended all plowing, so don't know why he was here, grateful, but unless some miracle heat wave comes tomorrow, I can't dig out the double driveway and walkway, hoping some people roam the neighborhood tomorrow looking for work, yeah right, like that will happen again:), but you never know.
I remember one snowstorm several years when a group of kids came here wanting to shovel the driveway. One girl was working with a broken shovel, so I let her borrow mine. She asked if she could use it to do other driveways, and I said okay. It worked out fine--she brought it back. Made me feel good.
It was a kind of rag-tag bunch of boys and girls. Pretty young ones.
well we had some young men do that, the late january storm, 1st time ever in the 26 years we lived here, there were 3 of them, and they had to borrow one of our shovels too, wish they would come back, but they had a small pick-up truck, and seemed really afraid to drive on the snow.
OMG, Lynn, God will have to do our deck, I can't even get out to it to get firewood, and the icicles are about 3 feet long...no I really can't get out to shovel, don't want to end up like 2 years ago.
Hedgie I do so remember that storm in 1966 - my sister Kathy and I were babysitting for three little ones while their parents went to NJ to look for a home! It was an extended babysitting gig... we loved it !
Oh the car was not so bad...had the blue plastic barely attached to it, pulled it off, and thought it would go join Ceil's garland in never never land...
door not frozen...everything looks good to go and I have a little time left to play
I'm hoping things are slow so I can get some Valentine's cards ready and mailed... fat chance they will get anywhere by Saturday, but it's worth a try... IF things are slow..
JO - please oh please be careful putting rugs out or in at your place by the sliding glass door !!!!! I WAS HERE for that one! Bet those metal rods get right cold in this weather
JO......so sorry to hear about Tigress. She was so old! You took wonderful care of her. She had a good life.
Belle just rolled the egg. Boy, she had her head way down in that cup.
Spent the evening reading, did watch Amer. Idol.
Tomorrow I prepare the cheesecakes and strawberries for church tomorrow night. Just watch...I'll prepare this stuff and then not be able to go into town. Expecting rain, sleet and up to 3" of snow. We do not have snow plows here. Also, we are approx 5 miles out in the country and the roads get really bad. Heck, our drive way gets really bad. From the street is a slope up to the house. We might get down, but we won't be able to get back.
There are several folks on here today that I never said hello to, and I apologize, I can remember becky, safire, blondiegirl... HELLO ! I might not have remembered everyone...Please forgive me...snow brain you know, but I will SEE ALL of you back here Thursday I hope and that will jog my memory
I do so wish I had been up and rung up Wanda and Gene earlier..hope she will post late as she often does maybe she is gazing upon Griots and Gene is reading Civil War books
Yes, it is fun. Hey, Margy, I type about the same way you type with gloves on, only I do not have gloves. lol I just can not get used to the laptop keyboard and I have had it a year.
I have your address Margy! But, I would hate to think of what kind of mess you would have on your hands upon opening a box of chessecake (that needs to be refrigerated) and choc covered strawberries.
I have an awesome laptop satchel that I would send you in exchange for eat treats Lolly - I am years away from a laptop, I won it at a banquet....it sits pristine in my closet...
Margy, hope your night is as peaceful as possible. One thing for sure--p-doubt that there are many criminals out and about. Hey....why don't they take the non-violent inmates and put them out on a shovel brigade chain gang??!!!!
I do love my laptop, in that it performs so much better than our computer. Also, I can sit here in front of the fire, in my lazyboy, and watch our TV at the same time. Life is good!
I haven't eaten right today, cottage cheese, ice cream, cold steak, and some choco covered cashews, guess I will pack some chow for work and get that straightened out
Checking out for a few before time to leave will check back one last time but in the meantime God Bless Us, Every one
(ps who else could use a satchel and the extra copy of Readers Digest I am getting? Megan gets the Birds & Blooms )
I have been washing clothes and doing taxes today. Will be doing them for several days. I do GG's also. I get interrupted and sometimes it's hours before I get back to what I was doing...then, forget where I left off!
Last message I got at work--don't do your taxes yet if you have the HSA insurance plan. That insurance plan again. Maybe because it is different. I don't know.
GG is in her own roost. She will not come home with me...she feels comfortable and secure in her own home. She loves her home and so I wouldn't take her away from there. Called her today and she was able to hear a little better than usual. Said she knew the roads were bad and for me to stay at home.
Watching the news...all they talk about is your area! Hey..I know all about it! I am very thankful that none of you have lost electricity, and wow...we have not lost the cam. Amazing!
Getting ready to head to bed. I am going to try to use my new toothbrush. It has been charging all day, so I suppose it is ready.
I almost gave up getting it out of the package. It took me a half hour to get the thing opened. I thought I was going to injure myself. I don't know what I will do if they make it any harder to get those packages open. I hope the toothbrush is as durable as the packaging.
Pleasant dreams to those heading to their pillows.
Margy, have a good night and be safe!
Wanda, glad GG is with you so you don't have to worry.
Hope those still under the snow get plowed and shoveled out tomorrow - us too! We have an alley way between our house and the neighbor that's 12 feet wide and about 65' feet long to get to our parking places. And, of course, the wind whips right up the alley and piles up and around to the parking areas. I did see the neighbor's VW Bug was all but covered. Jim and youngest did go out to clear off their trucks, but I insisted they not travel out the alley. Of course, the "boys" didn't listed. They say they're opening the alley for all of us. Yeah, right! They wanted to play. How dumb do they think I am?
ANyway, must find something for me to do .... reading if I'd get a newspaper, or since we still have cable I could look at a dvd movie. The guys will soon go to bed and I'll have the remote to myself~ Yipee.
If I don't come back, please accept this as my special wish for a good night and better day tomorrow. God bless us everyone. xoxoxo
Just saw a news clip about someone's carport collapsing on their car. Kathryn said that in the December storm, they had lots of cars damaged by collapsing carports.
Yes, Lolly, I worded a comment poorly when asked if we were ok. I said something like, "we're warm and cozy, as is GG". Meaning that I had checked on her and she was ok too.
Diann, just think, in a few months, you can plant your seeds that I sent you. I hope that you are better able to get outside this year than you were last year!
I am not sure what is wrong with a simple cardboard box.
. . . You are right about toys, Lolly.
I took the toothbrush up to my bathroom, then realized that I would need tools to open the package. I got a knife and used it to open some eyedrops I had not been using because I couldn't get the plastic thing off.
Then I tackled the toothbrush package, but soon realized that I was about to stab myself and making no progress, so I got scissors. Good, heavy scissors. It was still not easy.
Lynn, I saw your comment earlier about the Food Lion roof sagging. I don't know which one you were referring to, but Gene said when Food 4 Less was where Food Lion is now, they had to have men come in and shovel snow off the roof because it was weak.
Wanda, I can hardly wait! I'm waiting now for my snow flowers to come up so I can send you a picture of them. They come up in January or February right up through the snow or mulch. The true sight that spring will follow soon. Don't need the whistlepig, groundhog, or woodchuck. Should be soon!! Snow Drops is the correct name I think.
That Food Lion is where we get our ground beef. When a sirloin tip sale goes on, Gene has a friend who works there who grinds the roast into ground beef. Ummm, makes the best hamburgers...very lean and tasty:)
Will was shocked when he saw the news story about the collapsed Smithsonian building in Maryland. He and Rus toured that building years ago when they were refurbishing the Enola Gay.
Diann, it's a shame that you have to stay up all night to get to use your own TV!!!
Lolly, I too thought that GG was with Wanda! Misinterpretation! Hi, Wanda!!!! My tax refund should be deposited any day---IRS says by Fri. I didn't check today.
Margy, if they need suggestions as to where to dispatch the inmates, send them my way! I'll even give them cocoa!!
Shirley, Moms' and sis's cars were both damaged when moms' carport came down during one of the four hurricanes im '04 that hit her area in FL!
My day is done.....see you fine fowl friends tomorrow. Hoping for some snow angels. Praying for a safe night for all of us, and for our dear Belle and Lib....and the Egg. :( Nighty-night.
Whoops! We did not win the lottery tonight. Shucks! Was going to buy all of you new computers or laptops...your choice. BUT, sadly it just did not work out.
There are a few shows during the week that they either agree with me or they can watch on the small tv in the kitchen. No slug fest needed. Though I told my hubby he only likes to push buttons so I'd get him one that would not control our tv and he could push buttons to his heart's content. ;o]
Yeah, I am sure it is harder to steal a large package, and it is impossible to remove the merchandise and steal that. But just think how much bigger they have to build the stores to accommodate all of those huge packages. Really.
And one more thing....Shirley, tell Will that whatever artifacts were in the buidling at the Garber complex were in sealed steel crates, so NO damage to contents!
Lolly I am still waiting for the eagle jacket you once promised to send! lol
I am heading back the hall way I am thankful with this weather that mostly all of you will not need to go out tomorrow to work or to play either as a matter of fact.
I opened the live feed again, and I saw the egg when Belle rolled it and turned on the nest herself.
It looks a little shiny as though wet maybe, and the bottom of the egg cup appears to be in better shape, but it's still covered with snow.
On the other hand I could see at least some of Belle's breast feathers spread and apparently surround the egg when she laid down on it.
I don't know if there is a chance she has kept it warm enough to develop. Remember it was very undeveloped during the storm, and it would have to get very cold all the way to the center to make it nonviable.
Really cold out there. They are clearing the roads in my neighborhood with a front loader and a large road grader. Just pushed a huge wall of snow into our cleaned driveway.
I'm waiting to see if Kathryn is going to bring Hunter.
I was about to get ready for school today and we were called that school was canceled due to high winds and flooding. We will have a make up day this saturday.
Glad to hear that you are getting some snow clearing relief where you are.
Sorry about your driveway stronghunter. I missed that. Ilived in New York State for over 40 years and I can surely sympathize with you all. The snow is pretty coming down and then it can dry up as far as I am concerned. I had my fill of shoveling and reshoveling and planning my life around it. I can relate to you all in this mess and feel so badly for you all.
Just read the e-mail from our central office. The superintendent is proposing changing the school calendar, including spring break, the end of the year, and the length of the day to make up for time missed, but the graduation date will not be changed.
When I was a senior, they changed our graduation because it snowed every Wednesday for a month or so, and we had to put little cards in our invitations noting the change, but our graduation was not as complicated as it is now. There were only 53 of us and we graduated in the school auditorium. Culpeper's is on the football field, but it involves many rented chairs, arrangements to use the auditorium if necessary, and so many other things.
Eagle left the egg cup and ate somehting, left for awhile. I can't really see an egg, but she / he is acting like it is there. Seemed to be rolling it and settled down like protecting an egg.
Okay, I posted the pictures from the live cam. They seem to be in reverse order roughly because you can see the night light in the last ones, but not in the first ones. The first picture seems to show an egg, but it is not visible in the other ones. I wonder if it is an egg or a glob of snow.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!---Weather info -- SNOW--BLUSTERY WINDS IN THE EASTERN PANHANDLE!!---SNOWBOUND--1 WK!---- CONGRATS! WISHING EVERYONE A 'SUNNY' DAY!--Prayers for those in need!!---LET US ALL GIVE THANKS & REMEMBER--LIFE IS GOOD!!!
Have been up for a while--got Hubby off to work OK. Fell asleep in front of the TV last night after dinner. It was chilly in the house, and the heated throw just got to me! Didn't wake up until this morning!
Jo, I'm so sorry about your kitty, Tigress! She will be sorely missed, I am sure, but you sure gave her a long and happy life! I've never heard of a cat living to such a ripe old age! (((HUGS))) for you and your family.
Saw Belle eat some nestovers earlier, then take off, and Lib brought in a stick, then left after a while. Have no idea whether the latest egg has any chance of making it. The nest is uncovered now, and it's mighty cold there. Just very glad that both eagles seem to be OK.
Hi Norma! Daisy would say hello but we have her in her padded cell, with a straight jacket on and she is now also heavily sedated!!! LOL! Poor dog...she can't wait for snow to melt!
Shirley, when I came on the nest was empty, and it did look like an egg was there but could have been a snow ball too. When the eagle came back with the stick, he/she went into the egg cup briefly, looked around, and came back out. Now I don't see the roundish thing anymore.
SHIRLEY---I thought for sure I was seeing 2 eggs the other day & it turned out I was wishing so hard--'i thought i was seeing 2 eggs' --I am no help....
Good morning everyone. Started the day reading the blog. No mention of snow but still windy I guess. I am wishing for a much better day for everyone including Lib and Belle.
Daisy You need to get your family to play a few games of hide and seek , but not in the sunroom/porch area.
I think I am going to drive over to the dam today and enjoy the eagles for a while its a bit of a drive like 10 miles but once I am out of my neighborhood should be ok till I get to the road that leads down to the dam. Its -2 here now with a nice cold wind chill to boot, but sun is going to shine and a few others from Cam Club are also heading over. I am looking forward to getting out of here.
Both there and then both gone. They looked around a bit. I think they summed things up but ya just never know. Maybe gone for sticks or out for breakfast together. That would be good.
MORNIN' GLO!---THAR'S SNOW IN OUR FORECAST!---ALONG WITH SOME FIERCE WIND--you need to keep us in your prayers! I usually get up 15 5:00 every am---but this am---I had to MAKE MYSELF get up!!---THEN I REMEMBERED THERE ARE 'EAGLE LOVERS' sharing good thoughts on the blog!---LIFE IS GOOD!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... I agree with the last comment JIM made...if this egg doesn't make it, maybe Lib and Belle will start all over again and we COULD STILL GET 3 little LIBELLES:) I am not an expert, but I think this little egg has sunk down into the cup to join it's siblings. Perhaps the heat from Belle's body melts the snow and the egg just drops down beyond reach.
Glo, the snow stopped late yesterday evening, but the wind continued to blow...not nearly as bad as we thought it was going to be! Good luck on your EAGLE HUNT today:)
Dex and I are off to coffee and dog treats. I hope lib and Belle have gone for breakfast and will take a break for a few days. Once we get past this weekend I think things will improve for all of us. Hang on. "literally"
Good morning from a very white Bluefield. This really sucks. I hope all is well with everybody. I see nobody is at the nest right now. What a time our Lib and Belle have had. :(
I tried to go out back and refill one of the bird feeders, but the steps are encased in ice. I can't get out there right now.
Tried to shovel out the end of the driveway so Kathryn could get in. I did some shoveling, but then she just blasted through. She has 4-wheel drive and more clearance than we do with our cars. We may have to work on it some more before we go out, but Kathryn did knock away some snow.
Good morning, eagle dudettes. "Blue skies smiling at me, nothing but blue skies do I see" :) plus mountains of snow and lots of icicles :(
No papers here, Norma. Or if they are, I can't get to them. Where's the shovel brigade?? I can't even do the deck until this wind stops---I don't have enough of my own.
Morning all. Sun is shining and there is melting. Called and our store is open. Need bread Birds have eaten us out of house and home. Not sure there will be bread.
Checked in on the nest. Watched both arrive then leave. Can't see an egg. I suspect we should begin to say some prayers for warm weather and another clutch.
Both eagles wre in the nest this morning and one brought in nesting material. But they both flew off and have not been back for an hour. No one sitting on the egg. This darn snow!
I checked out Shirley's pics....the 3rd from the bottom looks like eagle may be rolling it up under, but other than that, I don't a sign of the egg in any of the other pics.
I would guess it got buried in the snow as well as the other 2
Shirley, we named them in 2006. The eaglet momsters group was formed in the summer of 06, and we all submitted names and held a poll on the group site.
MORNIN' PAULA!---Remember to tell SHIRLEY---Everyone agreed but ME!--I wanted to name them 'YEAGER' after 'GEN. CHUCK YEAGER'--he was was the FIRST PERSON to break the sound barrier!! & HE WAS FROM WILD & WONDERFUL WV!!---ho!---
we didn't know each other when we all voted on the names!

Where is Wanda?
Shirley, interesting Kathryn's comment about Margy and the bibs. First night I thought she would be better dressed as a cheerleader. You go, Margy.
It's been a long day and a long several days. I supposed we are all tired and in need of rest and a return to normalcy.
Think I'll pretend that Tigress is getting to know our Lily and Koko. Probably setting up their own blog.
Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Prayers for Belle and Lib and the egg. Andy, please set the alarm when you come in.

so funny to see snow at the beach, it rarely snows there.

well good night all, prayers for normal times to come back to us, and electricity for all
Mits, hope someone does show up to ahovel you out. You should not be out there doing it.
LOL, neither should I---but bet I'll have to do the deck.
Margy, I saw that commercial, but did not follow up on what it was for, have a good night tonight
Dear everyone...I do indeed hope the Thursday holds some bright spots for all of us ☼

well with this cold, the eat treats would probably be just fine, but I'll take a raincheck or come to YOUR roost Lolly to get them myself ☺
I often type your name Lollllly and have to correct myself, just get carried away ☺
Hey Margy, hang on to that satchel, you may win a lap top to go into it:)
Margy, hope your night is as peaceful as possible. One thing for sure--p-doubt that there are many criminals out and about.

Frederick County has issued a state of emergency, no vehicles allowed on the roads...
Hello, Lynn and Wanda!!
Wanda, how is GG doing? She is with you, right?
Wanda !!!
our MIA Momster God Bless !!
Watching a movie...bbl
like your idea Lynn....they might even be doing some of that...
I have been washing clothes and doing taxes today. Will be doing them for several days. I do GG's also. I get interrupted and sometimes it's hours before I get back to what I was doing...then, forget where I left off!
One news story about how people without power were having problems with food spoiling. I wonder if they thought about the big refrigerator outdoors.
can you all tell I am wound up...
Paula...that sounds like a very sound plan....no vehicles,
be careful...
bbl
taxes..haven't even tackled that yet.
I think we get paid this Friday, IF the County people could get in to work on payrolll !
Did I just see an egg roll?
Last message I got at work--don't do your taxes yet if you have the HSA insurance plan. That insurance plan again. Maybe because it is different. I don't know.

Shirley, Gene was talking about that just a little while ago. A big cooler or tote set outside would surely do the trick!
I really thought she was with you. Do not know where I got that idea.
Getting ready to head to bed. I am going to try to use my new toothbrush. It has been charging all day, so I suppose it is ready.

It is wild they way they package things. Children's toys are the worst.

Hang on Belle! Dig your talons in deep!
I think I would avoid that Food Lion store.
They could probably support the roof with some of those toothbrush packages.
Amen!
Shirley, I love my electric toothbrush, but I have to be careful not to be too heavy-handed or it makes my teeth very sensitive.
I have an old one that seems to be wearing down. I guess you can't expect them to last forever.
That Food Lion is where we get our ground beef. When a sirloin tip sale goes on, Gene has a friend who works there who grinds the roast into ground beef. Ummm, makes the best hamburgers...very lean and tasty:)
I could very easily have my daffodils blooming with snow on the ground. The buds are ready to open and we have snow coming.
Ah yes, Diann, those late Winter flowers are so special...put a smile on your face and a song in your heart!
Nighty-night.
all that packaging is because:
Shoplifters !!!
Wanda, your Mom had the very nicest things to say about you (and Gene ) the other day....I should have told you before this.
Nice to see Diann checking in ..
and always nice to see EVERYONE checking in and out...
speaking of which, time for me to go
Good Night Blogger Cop !!
Take Care all, I love you...
See you Thursday
God Bless Us, Every One
xoxo ☺ ♥
Whoops! We did not win the lottery tonight. Shucks! Was going to buy all of you new computers or laptops...your choice. BUT, sadly it just did not work out.
Love you too, Margy...see you tomorrow. Drive carefully!
Dear Lolly, I'll bet you REALLY would:)
Nite Lynn, Nite Margy. Drive very carefully, Margy!
Oh, Wanda---it was the new FL on 9 past the IRS that prompted the shutdown until all were inspected. Haven't heard the outcome.
Yes, we would. I told Jack what I said and he was all for it...said we would personally deliver them in our private jet. ☺
Oh, well....maybe another time. But, you know, we really would do that. How cool for everyone to be up to date and full power.
Guess I'll go in and wake the good Capt. and take him to bed. Of course, if he is watching the History Chanel, I won't be able to budge him:)
GOOD NIGHT DEAR FRIENDS
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Lynn likes that Food Lion...says they are very friendly and helpful there.
Gene
Lolly I am still waiting for the eagle jacket you once promised to send! lol
I am heading back the hall way
I am thankful with this weather that mostly all of you will not need to go out tomorrow to work or to play either as a matter of fact.
Good Night All & Prayers for All
(((hugs))) ♥ ♥ ♥
Thanks, Lynn. I told him.
Good night, Wanda! Think I am heading to the shower and to bed myself.
Nite all! Sweet dreams!
Well, I hope none of you folks had your private jets stored at Dulles.
Oh, I forgot about the eagle jacket. lol Well, now I owe you all eagle jackets and computers. I better start remembering what I promise. Yikes! ☺
Nope, our private jet is still at the manufacturers. We are still waiting for delivery. NITE!
A "clipper" predicted for Monday--just an inch or two, Ch. 9 says.
What a trip we can have when Lolly and Jack get their jet!!!
I am not used to staying up this late.
Wax!
Going to say good night for real now. See you tomorrow.
Hey Shirley, you can use the wax on a sled and go sledding!
Relaxed and watched a movie...gonna sleep in tomorrow.
Signing off for tonight, Belle has her head tucked back.
Hugs and electricity to all ♥
Well, I see Belle has chosen to try to hatch the third one. I kind of wish she would let it go, which would clear the way for the pair to start over.

Good NighT,

I opened the live feed again, and I saw the egg when Belle rolled it and turned on the nest herself.
It looks a little shiny as though wet maybe, and the bottom of the egg cup appears to be in better shape, but it's still covered with snow.
On the other hand I could see at least some of Belle's breast feathers spread and apparently surround the egg when she laid down on it.
I don't know if there is a chance she has kept it warm enough to develop. Remember it was very undeveloped during the storm, and it would have to get very cold all the way to the center to make it nonviable.

Good morning.
Really cold out there. They are clearing the roads in my neighborhood with a front loader and a large road grader. Just pushed a huge wall of snow into our cleaned driveway.
I'm waiting to see if Kathryn is going to bring Hunter.
Wind blowing and howling out there.
Good morning Stronghunter. See that bird is still on the nest and the wind is howling on the cam.
I was about to get ready for school today and we were called that school was canceled due to high winds and flooding. We will have a make up day this saturday.
Glad to hear that you are getting some snow clearing relief where you are.
good morning to yoy too Jim. Have you been having all the rain before we get rain and snow here? I have been wondering about the mud slides.
Well guess everyone is sleeping in , so I will try and go back and get a couple more hours. L
Many roads are closed this morning.
Hi Candy!
I remember make-up days on Saturday. We have had a few of those in recent years.
Our eagle is on the nest with head under wing.
Kathryn is on her way here. BBL.
Eagle left the egg cup and ate somehting, left for awhile. I can't really see an egg, but she / he is acting like it is there. Seemed to be rolling it and settled down like protecting an egg.
Going to try to put pics on blog.
Eagle returned for awhile and left again. I still do not see an egg there.
When I heard the geese, I saw a whole flock of them fly by below the nest to the left. Interesting.
MOVIN'JIM!--You are our #1 'EAGLE DADSTER' today & every day!!!---MORNIN--CANDY & SHIRLEY!!--CANDY--most of the schools here have been closed this week!---Hope you enjoy your day off!!---It will be a long time before I will connect SNOW & FUN in the same sentence!!!!
WISHING EVERYONE A 'SUNNY' DAY!--Prayers for those in need!!---LET US ALL GIVE THANKS & REMEMBER--LIFE IS GOOD!!!
Good morning, Norma.
I have posted a series of pictures from this morning. I can't really tell if there is an egg in the nest.
Morning! Been on about 10 minutes reading back...MT nest but someone flew in with a stick just now.
I guess this egg is a goner too.
hear the other calling out
gone
MARGY---Are you on vacation?---I have been scanning --- read that somewhere?
Lynne, I just do not see an egg there. Do you? I think the eggs just get pushed into the show when they are trying so hard to incubate them.
MORNIN' LYNNE2 & 'DAISY'!---
Good Morning, Everyone!
Have been up for a while--got Hubby off to work OK. Fell asleep in front of the TV last night after dinner. It was chilly in the house, and the heated throw just got to me! Didn't wake up until this morning!
Jo, I'm so sorry about your kitty,
Tigress!
Hi Andy! Yes, I'm glad they are both OK. I worried about the wind whipping around so much...it must make navigation on the wing difficult.
I could really use some coffee and breakfast. Will be back after a quick trip to the kitchen for inspiration.
SHIRLEY---I thought for sure I was seeing 2 eggs the other day & it turned out I was wishing so hard--'i thought i was seeing 2 eggs' --I am no help....
I just looked at your pictures...I really can't tell if that's and egg but I don't think so :(
I'm going to go back and lay down for a while before we start digging out. BBL
good Thursday morning everyone, have a calm day today.
MORNIN' ANDY!!--LOVE your AVATAR!
BEAUTIFUL!
MORNIN' MITS!---Wishing you a happy day!
Both there and then both gone. They looked around a bit. I think they summed things up but ya just never know. Maybe gone for sticks or out for breakfast together. That would be good.
Looks like they are bringing in leaves and stuff to the nest.
I agree with the last comment JIM made...if this egg doesn't make it, maybe Lib and Belle will start all over again and we COULD STILL GET 3 little LIBELLES:)
I am not an expert, but I think this little egg has sunk down into the cup to join it's siblings. Perhaps the heat from Belle's body melts the snow and the egg just drops down beyond reach.
i get up at 5:00----not 15 5---need more coffee...
Glo, the snow stopped late yesterday evening, but the wind continued to blow...not nearly as bad as we thought it was going to be! Good luck on your EAGLE HUNT today:)
MORNIN' WANDA!!---Only BELLE knows-----bless her heart!
Dex and I are off to coffee and dog treats. I hope lib and Belle have gone for breakfast and will take a break for a few days. Once we get past this weekend I think things will improve for all of us. Hang on. "literally"
LYNN2--Love hearing stories about DAISY!---Reminds me of all the dogs we have had in our family!!--SHE IS JUST BEING A DOG!--SHE HAS SPUNK!
Good morning from a very white Bluefield. This really sucks. I hope all is well with everybody. I see nobody is at the nest right now. What a time our Lib and Belle have had. :(
NO EVENING OR AM PAPER----CURSES!
must wait until HEDGIE gets hers!
WHOA!---BLUEFIELD SHARON!!---Let us CELEBRATE!---You drove BIG BLUE to BLUEFIELD!---Did the town come out to greet you??---COOL!
HHHEEEEY MARGIE!---Their are 4 TURKEYS at pixPA!---
Need to get some breakfast.
Spring will be so nice!
todays' weather for nest....
Today
Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 30s. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
Tonight
Partly cloudy. Lows around 18. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph.
amen
Hi Norma, Sharon,and Wanda.
Good morning Mits and Lynn.
I have been getting the papers, would rather have my mail. None since last Friday.
Morning all. Sun is shining and there is melting.
Called and our store is open. Need bread Birds have eaten us out of house and home. Not sure there will be bread.
Things to do will BBL
hi Ceil, bye, Ceil
Norma, no vacation for Margy. She went to work at midnight. Not sure when she got/gets off.
having a fit with my Verizon. email this a.m., have done all I can to fix it, so guess I will have to call Pakistan
Good morning to all who are here.
Checked in on the nest. Watched both arrive then leave. Can't see an egg. I suspect we should begin to say some prayers for warm weather and another clutch.
Off for coffee - no paper.
why do folks wright all of this personal stuff on the eagle blog? adf
Oh, no, Mits...the dreaded help desk!
Ceil, be careful going out!! No falls allowed!
Eagle back
Stepped in the bowl and seemed to hop out right away, stood there for a minute, then flew to the right
Shirley, heard them say that Culpeper schools will be open tomorrow....can't believe it!
So, no one has seen the egg this morning?
Dr a de clue---because we are a close-knit bunch of friends.
Very dire conditions in Frederick Co., MD---where Jo lives. 12' drifts---lots of stranded motorists--rescue attempts ongoing.
Both eagles wre in the nest this morning and one brought in nesting material. But they both flew off and have not been back for an hour. No one sitting on the egg. This darn snow!
Paula...look at Shirley's pics---see what you think...egg or not??
This is just a test
oh no, Judie, is giving us a test:(
Dr a deacule!---So intelligent folks like you will read our WORDS OF WISDOM!---
Okay, thanks Jo. I figured it out.
Sunshine and blue sky this am.
Lynn, I haven't heard that they will be closed, but haven't heard that they will be open, either. We will see.
Dr Adeclue: if you don't like what we write then don't come back!
I remember we ACED her first test & we didn't realize it was a test!!!
CEIL--Be careful!--Didn't I read you went to store yesterday?---I may have to send you for me!---It's a WEEK today!---eaten every thing in sight!! ho!
Norma and Judie....you rock!
I checked out Shirley's pics....the 3rd from the bottom looks like eagle may be rolling it up under, but other than that, I don't a sign of the egg in any of the other pics.
I would guess it got buried in the snow as well as the other 2
Eagle back
with stick
That's Lib and he's tromping all in the egg cup
It is still early in the season, maybe they can reclutch in a couple of weeks.
Eating nestovers now
Guess that fish Lib brought in last week is still under that snow somewhere
A question--When were Lib and Belle named and who named them?
Eagle trying to hold on!
I wonder if we will see any of the eggs when the snow finally melts.
If you look closely enough, you can see the white elbows on Lib.
Another split coming!
Frederick County still has state of emergency declared, many portions of major roads are shut down, I70, 340, I270, 15.
done eating and off to the right.
Shirley, we named them in 2006. The eaglet momsters group was formed in the summer of 06, and we all submitted names and held a poll on the group site.
Hi, Laura!
NCTC just calls them the male and female, although there are lots of folks there who refer to them by Lib and Belle.
Thanks, Paula. You picked good names.
Yes, Welcome DR Adeclue and Laura!!
MORNIN' PAULA!---Remember to tell
SHIRLEY---Everyone agreed but ME!--I wanted to name them 'YEAGER' after 'GEN. CHUCK YEAGER'--he was was the FIRST PERSON to break the sound barrier!! & HE WAS FROM WILD & WONDERFUL WV!!---ho!---
we didn't know each other when we all voted on the names!
Back!
