Mits said...

yeah I have emailed them about it, but it has been black for me for a about a week...thanks for the callover.

Mits said...

yeah, got the new car 2 months ago, got 2 heart-shaped Bamboo plants for Valentine's day

floralgirl said...

Oh yeah, well I got a car made out of bamboo and the windshield is shaped like a heart and it's driven by a panda...well, no, not really, I didn't.
Anyway, morning all:)

ceil said...

Yep going to get dressed and walk to the store. My friend Betty and I must have walked about 5 miles yesterday.

magpie said...

Oh, Ceil, you rock!

Thanks Steve...
and Ceil for the call over...

Steve knows about the Still Cam stillness...
it is not from the NCTC end...
so it will reset when the time is right...☺

Mits said...

that is the only way I can watch the eagles is thru the still now, live feed works well sometimes, but mostly it does not work for me at all.

HAPPY PRESIDENT'S DAY EVERYONE!!

Some brothers of GEORGE WASHINGTON settled in the CHARLES TOWN area...homes are still there!SANDY!---can you help me?---ho!

magpie said...

In case I don't see James I will just gaze upon my avatar, pic taken on Dec 23

Hi More Morning People...

I would take a new computer over a new car right about now

back to the debris field

Have a good day, all.
xo

floralgirl said...

Norma, Happy Retreat is one of the homes built by Charles Washington, founder of Charles Town, WV. he was George Washington’s youngest brother.

magpie said...

Sharon !
enjoyed reading about the lovely family times you had this week-end...

♥ Say Hi To T-Bird for me please.
Hope this is a day off for her, but figure, probably not :(

Better scram before Ceil
catches up with me ☺ xo

I RECEIVED several truck loads of SNOW for VALENTINE'S DAY!---I wasn't going to mention it---but I just had to let you all know---There was a HEART on top of the SNOW!!!

stronghunter said...

Mits, I was having a lot of trouble with the live feed, so I installed Firefox. The can is working now. Firefox prompted me to install something new--don't remember what--some video program.

I switch back and forth between Firefox and IE, depending on which one seems to work better. I just went to firefox.com and followed the directions.

Firefox did interfere with some Blackboard program I was trying to do for my class, told me to do something that seemed complicated, so I use IE for that.

stronghunter said...

I mean--the cam is working now.

stronghunter said...

Margy--"debris field"--I love it. I have several of those.

Mits said...

everthing works great for me on IE, except the live feed, so really don't want to mess with it, I have tons of stuff I watch all over the world, and would not like to lose any of it, right now with incubation it really does not matter to me, but would love to see any hatches if we have them.

stronghunter said...

Back to work on assignments.

Need to finish that stuff up this morning.

floralgirl said...

I was just glad hear the can is working....very important...sorry, how could one resist?
I usually have the live feed open on IE and do everything else on Firefox.

normabyrd said...

Thanks MEGAN!---We went on one of the HOUSE TOURS a few yrs ago!---I know there is another house too!--It's on the 'BIG TURN' coming into CHARLES TOWN!----That is a very historical area!---Beautiful homes!

stronghunter said...

I am using Firefox for the live feed and IE for the blog. Firefox even saved all of my favorites. I have icons for both right on my desktop.

floralgirl said...

There's also the Claymont mansion, which was built by a great nephew, I believe.

Mits said...

that's funny, Megan, your IE works for cam, mine does not, guess because we all have different computers of various ages, things are going to work differently....

stronghunter said...

Actually, my can is one of those water-saver things, doesn't work so very well, but that is another story! I was waiting for a remark on that typo!!

stronghunter said...

Well, it was sunny here, now cloudy. Looks depressing out there.

magpie said...

I caught it.
Yeah, got to have a WORKING CAN !!

Needed that laugh, Shirley and Megan ☺

normabyrd said...

SHIRLEY---Most of our schools are open today in WV!---

floralgirl said...

But I can only use IE for cam, I can't open any other sites with IE when I have cam up. I could probably use Firefox, but I like it much better than IE so I use it to surf the web.

Mits said...

I might try it....just need to take the plunge:)

glo said...

Good morning everyone. Back from coffee and dog treats. I haven't tried to even open the cam or a can yet today so not sure what is and isn't working.

"Oh that can" yep thank the Lord it works".

And ya know if you want to play Kick the Can its much easier with a still can than a live one, for what its worth.

Hope your day is good and well I am not even gonna mention the weather forecast.

stronghunter said...

Sometimes I want to kick it, but
I would hurt my toe!!

Costume Lady said...

Can't believe the schools close for Martin L. King but not for PRESIDENTS DAY!? Would have been a treat for students and teachers after the snow holidays...like icing on the cake. I haven't heard any school buses here, so maybe there is no school due to bad roads.

Mits said...

our county schools are closed for the holiday.

Costume Lady said...

Shirley, I would kick mine, but my leg won't go that high;)

Capt. is taking me to breakfast and shopping for a computer this morning. One we ordered was not very satisfactory:(

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Good morning again everybody! Happy February 15.

floralgirl said...

Firefox is really easy to install, and you can still use IE or Firefox, or both. My kid has been trying to get me to use it for years, cam finally drove me to it. And Paula answered any questions I had about it.
No school here today cause of the holiday.

floralgirl said...

I am available to kick anyone who needs it...for a small fee of course.

Mits said...

yep, I'm reading about FF now on their site, but as usual when I goggle my questions about it, it is 6 of one, half a dozen, of the other of people who love it, and people who hate it...but i might try it, since it lets me keep my IE, I have tried IE 8 twice and have not liked it, some of what I'm reading claims IE8 is better than FF, just individual taste I am sure, what ever works is what I want.

Mits said...

Bluefield cam is showing snow:)

Mits said...

OK going to download FF, if i don't come back, I have kicked the computer, or thrown it into a 5ft. snow bank.

floralgirl said...

Well if you throw it into a snowbank, I'm not gonna help you shovel it out.

paula eagleholic said...

MOrning, all!

Belle is back with MAJOR fluff, don't know how she'll find the eggs in all that.

Lib took off

paula eagleholic said...

What's cool about FF is that it will pull over all your bookmarks from IE :)

paula eagleholic said...

LOL is there such a thing as too much fluff!

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda - hope you find a better computer...sometimes you just have to go try them out...like shoes :)

paula eagleholic said...

Speaking of computers, I finally figured out what was wrong with my sound at work....now I gotta keep it turned down :)

Mema Jo said...

Here a Kick! There a Kick!
Hope it is safe to come on in here!
lol
Don't know what I would do without all of you and your comments.

Before the snow comes (around 1:00)
hubby and I need to be out and about.

I'll touch base with you as soon as I
return. Early pm I hope!

paula eagleholic said...

Mits, the only thing you may have to install in FF is the adobe flash player that the cam uses.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

It is just starting to flurry a little bit in Bedford.

My profile pic is of Andrew and Kelsey at a dinner on their cruise!

Mits said...

boo, I'm back I think....cam is running fine on FF..will play with this for awhile.

paula eagleholic said...

Yay Mits!

Mits said...

Belle looks like me at night when I'm trying to fix my pillow just night

Mits said...

magpie said...

floralgirl said...

Good grief, back with more leaves.

Mema Jo said...

One can never have too much fluff!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

And some more fluff!

Mits said...

here, I brought a stick and more fluff, so get off my back!!!!

Mits said...

awesome photo, Sharon:)

magpie said...

Megan
thanks for posting that Herald Mail link yesterday about Deputy Carroll's incident.
Journal today is unspecific about his injuries.
If nothing else than by mechanism of injury, being tossed overboard by a car, sounds pretty serious to me. Glad he had on all his protective things...maybe hard hats need to be part of standard issue next

magpie said...

You all please keep talking about what I cannot see at the nest !

magpie said...

looks like we have a new addition to road rage...

Snow Rage....
and snow plow rage

from what we take at 9-1-1 and what is in the newspapers

Woof !!!!

magpie said...

oh, didn't take the time to realize that FF will pull over all my favorites, maybe I will have the time to fuss with that sometime this century

gonna try to sneak a peak at live feed

paula eagleholic said...

Major tenting at CRC, daggone that looks like hail!

glo said...

Bless thier hearts they are trying to protect those eggs. They don't know whether to expect 2 inches or 2 feet anymore, who does?

Dana Gray said...

Good Morning All....hope everyone was able to celebrate Valentines day the way they wanted. Are we ready for more snow?????

hedgie said...

Good morning all.

Norma, there is also Harewood, which was another Washington family estate. And, of course, Charles Town is named for Charles Washington---city founded by him, I think. At the Presbyterian Church, the original deed signed by Charles granting property to the church hangs on the wall in the vestibule! It is on Washington St.!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Love that wiggle wiggle!

magpie said...

okay took me 44 seconds to get my 10 seconds of eagle fix

Phyrfly, I did not, wanted the day off, no option. Did not get to see my favorite Valentine grandson James
It is what it is :(

Hello more Morning People hope that covers it

Going to make like Liberty and bail...need to get to Morgan County

Contined good wishes for all on here now, and for those to come

See you sometime, hope I come home to "live Still Cam feed"

xoxox ☺ ♥

paula eagleholic said...

OH Phyrfly, 3-5" is nothing, HA HA compared to what we have been getting!

Dana Gray said...

Magpie, that is terrible...sorry to hear it. I hope tho you will be able to see James soon.

paula eagleholic said...

Well Belle is having a blast arranging and re-arranging all that fluff

magpie said...

I piled a whole bunch of books on my bed...active engineering controls, so I don't go for a nap.
I am so tired, but expect to get some energy from James..and maybe the five cups of coffee I have been slugging

TTFN
Ceil, don't say a word...I came back, but no more ☺
Well, actually, go ahead and say someting... I love the attention ☺

hedgie said...

Wanda, schools closed for the holiday----some counties cancelled holiday to make up snow day. Ours probably would have done the same, but roads still too bad, and buildings have not all been inspected yet for safety.....may not reopen til Weds., at least.

hedgie said...

Mits, hadn't heard about your new car!! Was that your Chirstmas present? What did you get?? What color??

Mits said...

hubby asked me this a.m. how much snow predicted here, in DC, told him 1 to 3, he said inches or feet....silly goose.

magpie said...

James (Morgan County WV) would not have had the P-day holiday, it is actually a teacher inservice day
but he would have probably had a snow day regardless

Way to go Mits, hope FF works great for you ☺

Lynn...
Hope Rick continues to do well...

okay bye

hedgie said...

Thanks, Mits...had checked BLuefield about 8:30, and even tho' it looked like it was moving in across the moumtain, I didn't see it falling or on the street.

Almost sounded like Hidey was back at the nest. I think Belle was hungry.

floralgirl said...

Well alright now, that nest cup is really built up. Love it!

stronghunter said...

Most of the snow is gone from the nest, too. Would be nice to see more of it nearest the nest gone.

hedgie said...

Dana just called...her eye has been infected again, so has not been able to see to blog. She says hi, and is eggcited about the newest egg.

Mits said...

eagle up and eating what looks like nestovers, can't see the eggs, too much fluff

Ragdoll said...

Good Morning Everybody, I am still down in the dungeon (Basement - nestoration). Just came up for a breather. Wanted to check on Lib and Belle.

Is that lib on the eggs? Where did all the fluff come from? Wow, Is that new fluff or did one of them find fluff mine. Maybe...everything is melting..the nest is more exposed.

Heard you are getting more snow. I hope they are right about 2-4 inches. (not 2-4 feet) That is a lot better than what you have just had. I feel so bad for all of you. Living in Maine we get lots of snow, sometimes even 2-3 feet. We are use to it and are better prepared for it because it's part of our winters. You learn to have fun with it. Have to be honest with you as I get older it stinks.

Be back soon. Have to play catch up. ^..^

normabyrd said...

---One EAGLE flew off the nest---the other EAGLE is eating & eating like crazy on the other end of the nest!!---MUST BE TASTY!!

Laura said...

the camera is not loading for me. anyone knows what is happening.

Laura said...

never mind there it goes.

hedgie said...

Norma, have domne the tours, too. I love CharlesTown and Harpers' Ferry and S'town. So much history, for sure. More expensive county to live in, tho', than Berkeley!

Ragdoll said...

Back from a quick read.

Magie, so glad your neighbor is home form the hospital. I pray she is doing well.

Mema Jo, My visit up to the children/grand babies is just postponed. One of the Grandchildren came do with a flu/virus. Hubby and I decided it was not worth traveling 3 hour up and 3 back to come down with flu/virus today or tomorrow. Our little one is doing better but still sick. Poor little bugger.

PA-Nana, I do love my ragdolls. Will show some pics when I have all my stuff input into this computer. Had a orange tabby for 17 years. Had to put down due to kidney failure last June. It was old age. He did great with it for almost 2 years. They let you know when it is time. Miss him so much, but know he is in a better place.

My ragdolls names are Noah and Annabelle. Noah was the best altered Ragdoll in the northeast division. He love to show. Was a real ham. He is a Supreme Grand Champion. Annabelle didn't like to show.I did Champion her, but if she didn't like it I wasn't going to torture her. I am very proud of them. I will stop on my cats now, because I can get to excited about my Babies. They are older now. Noah is 12 and Annabelle is 10. Ragdolls are nice cats. Very sweet and act more like dogs. Okay, Okay..I will stop Sorry, see how I get.

Judie, has your new washer arrived yet? If not, I hope you get it soon. Seems like you need more when you don't have one.

Be back soon. Hubby is home for lunch.

normabyrd said...

She is really busy moving everything around her nest & in the nest cup!!---moving her fluff & working herself down in the nest!!

normabyrd said...

WHOA!---I have a BEAUTIFUL ROBIN!!!---& it has just started SNOWING HERE!

Mits said...

Lib brought in food dropped it off then left, belle eating now

floralgirl said...

What? Did Norma use the s word?

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' RAGDOLL!---I love your AVATAR!!--I also checked your RAGDOLL CATS!---I have never been a cat person---but your CATS are really cool!--Certainly wish I could pet one!!

Ragdoll said...

Hubby made both our lunches....Yeah!

Wiggle,wiggle......I think that Belle is on the nest now. I sometimes can't tell. Especially if they make a switch and I miss it.

normabyrd said...

MEGAN---I truly wanted to shield you from seeing the S_____ word---BUT IT'S BAAAAAAAAACK!!

did you see i have a robin in my shrubbery?

normabyrd said...

RAGDOLL---I am most sure that is BELLE on the nest!---I watched her for a while---'fancying' up her nest!---moving everything around!

ps--you married well---he fixed your lunch)---cool!

normabyrd said...

need food....

stronghunter said...

Just started s---ing here. Oh dear.

hedgie said...

Snow flakes have started falling.......:(

hedgie said...

I am not a cat person, s don't know much...never heard of a Ragdoll cat...guess I better do a search!

Snowmageddon revisited......argh.

Ragdoll said...

Lib needs to bring Belle more food.He only brought a little piece of something.

I still have to put pics in, but again I have to find the time. My other computer was....are you ready for this..13 years old. It was so old that I couldn't save a lot that I had on it because floppies were just not in. Got this new one awhile back. I have had to get use to it (vista). Now I have to find time.

Ragdoll said...

Help me out here...what's a snowmageddon?

Ragdoll said...

soooo...nice to see the snow melt for Lib and Belle!

stronghunter said...

"Snowmageddon" is a terms that has been used for the huge amount of snow we have had around the DC area.

stronghunter said...

. . . term

stronghunter said...

Didn't know anything about ragdoll cats. I did a bit of research. They seem like they would be really nice pets.

Ragdoll said...

Well, my breather and lunch are done. Have to go back to dungeon. It's not going to get done this way. Would rather watch eagles and chat with all. "Perseverance" Head up, deep breath, smile.

Hello Jim.

Be back later. ^..^

paula eagleholic said...

Snowing at the nest

paula eagleholic said...

Both at the nest

paula eagleholic said...

I think Belle is telling Lib to beat it

BEagle said...

Well, mom's back. Did Lib expect a hunk of fish? or have they already eaten?

Maybe he can gnaw on that stick Belle brought in.

It's hard to watch them with all the duties of the day.

floralgirl said...

Yep, snowing here for about half an hour now.
Norma, I have had robins here for weeks, they love the holly berries. Of course, the mockingbirds do not want to share.

Ragdoll said...
This comment has been removed by the author.
paula eagleholic said...

He finally scrammed, LOL

Ragdoll said...

Up for quick check of eagles. It's snowing...Bbooo Hissss! Both on nest. some chirping. I think there is more food needed.

BBL ^..^

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

That is exactly what Belle was telling Lib - my turn, get out! :)

BEagle said...

Belle says: How can I raise these babies without daily sushi? Get going!

Why is the trash can still on my post?

stronghunter said...

The trash can always sits on your own post so you can delete it if you decide you want to.

stronghunter said...

Snowing seriously here.

stronghunter said...

Yes, BEagle, I think that is exactly what Belle said.

Ragdoll said...

Okay, so I came back for a minute. With the snow flying I wonder is Belle is laying there thinking "Oh no..not again..Please don't hurt this one. My heart couldn't take it again"

Hang on Belle, it suppose to be a small one. Prayers for Belle and Lib.

BBL ^..^

stronghunter said...

They said we were supposed to get rain here--at least at first. It is snowing big time.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

So you can trash your comments if you need to.

BEagle said...

So I can see the trash can but you can't?

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I HEAR A TRAIN! :)

BEagle said...

I don't hear the train. I like trains and their whistles.

My great uncle was an engineer on the B&O.

BEagle said...

I do hear a plane flying overhead at the moment now.

BEagle said...

I'm hearing a train now!

hedgie said...

Right, BEagle---we each can only see our own trashcan.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Right, I am hearing a train and a northern flicker now!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Except for Normabyrd and she has no trash can.

BEagle said...

Thanks Hedgie and all you Pros at blogging.

hedgie said...

4 deer out here...two trying to pull down a small tree that still has some dry leaves on it. They are surely also thinking NOMOSNOW.

BEagle said...

Is the northern flicker a bird that you recognize by the sound of their song?

floralgirl said...

Yes, and you will often hear flickers at the nest area. They are very common here.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

You can believe that this has all been a hit and miss for us. We didn't have a clue what were doing either when we started, well most of us anyway! :)

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone!

HAPPY PRESIDENTS' DAY!

Sitting here waiting for Sis-in-law to arrive. We're spending the day with her. Hubby has the day off today, so want to make the most of it. Not going to Palm Springs, though. Maybe heading down south to find something to do. Supposed to be nice weather today.

Judie, when do they deliver the new washer? Tomorrow, I hope.

Oh, no--don't tell me it's s---ing again at the nest! Poor Belle! Hang in there, Belle!

Ragdoll, I'd love to hear more about your cats. I'm really interested in the Ragdoll breed--wish I could get a couple of them!
They're beautiful, and they're personality sounds really cool! Will be patiently waiting to see some pictures of yours.

Well, gotta run--will be back later tonight to check in and say hello. Hope you all have an enjoyable, warm and safe day today. Prayers for everyone being said! Later, alligators! :o]

BEagle said...

My mother used to love watching the birds and fed them peanut butter and suet. If she were here today, she would be glued to the eagle cam without a doubt.

She would get upset that the squirrels would get into the bird food.

Mema Jo said...

I have returned home - I think the snow on top of South Mountain followed us right down to our valley. Looks as though it is getting serious now.

Need to read about 100 comments...
Hope all is well..

stronghunter said...

BEagle, I fought a few squirrel battles, too. Right now, I feel sorry for the little rascals.

Pretty female cardinal outside my window now.

BEagle said...

Belle is getting snowed. It would be nice to throw a canopy up for her.

TCB.......later.

stronghunter said...

Raining in Richmond; snowing in Quantico and Fredericksburg. Snow building up in the nest.

We will remember this winter.

BEagle said...

Love the cardinals. The females are pretty with their demur ruddiness.

Now TCB. : )

stronghunter said...

We have always had a pair of cardinals at our feeder. Love to see and hear them. I have been seeing titmice, too. One was making a noise breaking open seeds earlier this morning. I think I'll get out there and take care of the feeders while I can.

BEagle said...

Demur should be demure. The tufted titmouses are sweet and the chickadees.

Belle is really getting covered.

I'm getting inspired to put some food out for the birds and see what I can draw in.

I read that if you put cayenne pepper in the bird food, it has no effect on the birds but will keep the squirrels out. Have you heard that before?

Mema Jo said...

Speaking of cardinal.. Have you seen on Loretta's personal blog the "King Of The Hill" photo. It is
the bestest.

paula eagleholic said...

Awww, she has her head tucked back in....better snooze while she can!

floralgirl said...

Yes, I've heard that about cayenne pepper before. It doesn't bother the birds at all.

Laura said...

I have a bird feeder outside my kitchen window. We get titmice, cardinals, nut hatch, flickers, black cap chikadees, grosbeak. Even had a towhee before. But my fav that visited last winter were 2 pileated woodpeckers that were eating the berries off of our crab apple. We don't have as many berries this year. We also saw a scarlet tanager way up in a tree in our back yard.
And I love to watch the daddy cardinals teaching the babies how to eat. It is so amazing.

BEagle said...

If I use the cayenne the squirrels will get upset and bang on my window. We just do not get along. (But I still brake for them.)

stronghunter said...
