Thanks Steve - fresh thread is great. Thanks for the call over. Lolly looked at all your FB pics and they are great and are Keepers to share in years to come.
Hi Shirley - hope you and Hunter have fun tomorrow.... Do you have the sleds ready? lol
Oh, I am so angry----a wreck involving injured child that was sitting on its' mothers lap. Why are people so stupid????
And from PA Nana Diann: Good afternoon. Everyone is digging out around here but have no place to put the white "crap!"
Had a little excitement out front of our house earlier. We live at a "y" and an empty flatbed truck tried to make the corner and got his trailer stuck on the snow bank and his cab just spinned its tires on the ice. Of course this blocked our driveway. To the rescue was a small cat, a dump with a plow and finally a BIG snow plow w/bucket. Neither of the little ones could move it so the big plow used a heavy chain to pull the flatbed out of the snowbank and the driver got enough traction to pull the truck straight. Can't imagine what it was doing on that backroad to begin with. There are farms on that road and milk tankers are in and out a lot, but an empty flatbed?
My guys are out trying to get some snow and icicles off the roofs. What a mess this is!!!!!
Lolly, love your pictures of the Texas snow. It's white just like ours!
Oh, Lynne---i hope your dogwood IS alive and makes it! I had always heard that transplanting them from the woods didn't work, too. And I know from experience that ferns don't!
37 here and the snow is melting fast. Was watching 3 male cardinals and one female fly around the feeder. Was hoping they would sit still long enough for a pic, but no luck.
Lynn, thanks for the comment. I love the pictures of the gazebo myself.
Yes, very stupid to be holding a child. Our boys are always buckled. I have a booster seat for both Jacob and Zach, so we do not have to move seats when we have them.
Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian luge slider competing at the Vancouver Olympics, died today after crashing during a training run and hitting a metal pole. He was 21.
Lolly, love your Normal snow pictures!!!Lovely! Got call--supposed to go to work in AM. Say roads are clear? but news reporter just mentioned that all the melted stuff will be ice in the AM---AARRGGHH!
Lynne, your dogwood just might make it. I have a patch of ferns from the woods--had a spring beauty in the middle for 1st 3 years. Planted them on shady side of house & at lower ground patch to get moisture.
Yes, she just left with hardly a good bye. But, guess what, I am going out tonight as well. We are going to church for dinner where the guys are putting on a Valentine Extravaganza. Jack is reading poetry. They used to do this, first time in several years. Expect tonight to laugh until I cry. Our guys are wonderful and soooo funny. Very talented.
We have been out blowing and sweeping the snow and slush off the drive way. Hopefully, it wont freeze before we get home and drive UP the drive way.
Only in for a moment, but i am going to ask this question again. Are you sure this is same male as last year. the unwillingness to incubate is confusing and seems moreintereste din bringing in sticks and stuff. Not a bad thing but should be incubatin galso. The eagles do not have any way of knowing if the eggs are viable so unless they break , thye usually sit on them until the time a hatch would take place
This is the behavior of an inexperienced eagle. I remember at BW a few years ago when they had a young male and he was not bringing in much food and doing not too much. I discussed this with Lisa a few days ago.
Vancouver temps are in 40's and 50's with rain. Mildest winter on record. At the park where the snowboarding competition is to be held, there would normally be 5-10 ft. of snow on the gorund. There is NONE now!
Lynn/Loretta...I really think that dogwood is alive! I sure hope so...we planted a redbud too and the 2 of them blooming in the spring will be awesome!
That's terrible about the child being killed. HOW can people be so stoooopid???
Bev, we monitored the nest all year. We saw them frequently. There was never a period when there was just one, or none, for that matter. We feel sure it is Lib.
Not impressed by the fact that we've gone from hearing "a couple of inches" to "possibly 6" assuming this clipper doesn't slow down Monday night" for our next snow Monday night into Tuesday.
there was a famous eagle pair in D.C. named George and Martha...another female ran her out of the nest and hurt her, and George picked right up with the younger female...these eagles are not tagged, so you have a valid point, since you have been watching raptors for so long. No one can say for 100% sure.
I know Megan. It's worrisome because each of the last storms they started days in advance with lower forecasted snowfalls and slowly eeked them up in the days coming closer to the event.
Well I know I do not know for sure unless both are side by side on the nest who is lib and Who is Belle BUT I do know This is Liberty and Belle. We know them and there personality and interactions with each other very very well. No doubt. none whatsoever.
EAgle back but I thought this one was different from one that left. I know you all have been watching this nest for a long time. I am jsut giving my observations as an eagle observer, I do not mean to offend anyone
I think I will jsut go and watch. I can feel the offensive here. Just trying to help. most males have a more cucumber head and the females head and neck are usually thicker, that is how I judge them when I do not know. I also try to look at their collars. I have been trying to get to know this pair . But I will keep my observations to myself .
Bev it is refreshing to see someone look at the nest thru fresh eyes...we all have our humbled opinions, and like I said, will never be 100% sure,no matter how they look to us...that is why is is so nice to watch the Channel islands with their bling. You certainly did not offend anyone.
Bev, you asked if we thought it was the same male, most of us strongly feel that it is. That's all. Don't feel the need to stop posting . All observations are welcome here. It was a valid question.
oh Bev, your comments are welcome on here! I don't think anyone is offended. I think we all have an incredible emotional attachment to this pair, but we can't know 100%, it's a valid point.
If you offend anyone, we'll send Judie to bite you!
No No No, Bev. We are thrilled to have you on here. You fit right in! Please, take no offence to our responses. I have been on here for this my third season, I can barely tell them appart when they are together. I certainly respect those who know more. My opinion is just what I feel. lol
I guess after watching falcons and eagles so long , I only trust the bands sometimes. I know all the actions of male and female at my site(falcons). I observe up close and personal, but the actions here are very confusing
hey Megan, do you watch Foot's Forecast on FB? They have been spot on this winter! I'm going to place a HEX upon them. They haven't given their prediction yet for this one.
Oh, Bev, we were so thrilled to have you join us. I know these people and I know that they are not offended. I will admit that I can't even tell the eagles apart.
BevI did not mean to offend you by sharing my observations. I really only post a couple of times a day myself. But I do watch the majority of the time that I am home. Unless Belle is being buried in snow :-( I was just giving my thoughts on your question.
As Mits said none of us will ever know anything for 100% absolutley certain. We have not in the past, we don't now and we never will. We just share what we think. I have been called wrong many a time. Sometimes I agree I am wrong. othertimes I decide well we see it differently and either could certainly be right.
Well, hubby home and then he is going to try and look at my computer to see what is wrong with it so I will not have cam up. but it looks like she will spend the night again. Let us see what tomorrow will bring
I think it was Judi getting a new washing machine. Let me know what you get. I am in need of a new one soon.
And that was tragic about the death at our Olympics. Hope it does not put fear into the others.
and all the athletes that have tested positive for drugs so far is astounding. My daughter swam on the world scene and I know how disconcerting it was to know that some athletes competed unfairly and were not caught
Bless this apir of eagles and may the sun shine tomorrow for everyone here. Have a good evening
Saw the video, too, Mits. I bet the poor kid was dead the minute he hit.
Loretta----hoping that the child injured in the wreck here is okay. No word of death about he/she.
Prayers working! Thanks. Rick was admitted to hosptial but not to ICU, so hopefully circumstancces are not dire. Of course, I'd probably feel better if he was in the unit for the better attention. I have saved this guys life a couple of times at work when his blood sugar bottomed out in the 30's....I worry that with all of the other concerns now, and w/ effect infection has on it, that they might not pay close enough attention. He has been so brittle all his life.he has totally amazed his drs. in that he has no kidney damage, and his eyesight has actually improved through the years. He is quite a guy! And picture a blondish/red Tom Sellick! Mmmmm.
I'm back - you didn't really miss me. Brought you some slices of Cherry Bread. Come on over and get some.
The roads were ok - it is the high banks of snow that you can't see around as to what traffic is coming at you. There isn't any wind now so it doesn't feel too cold.
I am going to have to try to get a pictue of the birds at my birdhouse tomorrow.
At least Will got Hunter away from the computer games long enough to go outside for awhile this afternoon. They dug out the wall of snow at the end of the driveway and cleaned off the back steps.
Shirley, I don't THINK birds are building nests this early...but, they often go into bird houses to roost in cold weather...maybe that is what's going on.
At least hubby made it over to the Post Office and hopefully my Valentines are headed to their destination. I had ordered some book from Amazon last evening and when it came to Shipping - there were no guarantees of delivery times in the eastern US... I wonder why Not!
hi ya:), just got back from picking hubby up from Metro, most of the streets I traveled in the district are one lane, lots of traffic, was going to suggest to go out to dinner, but I think everyone else has the same idea, so fixing dinner here and settting TV trays up...they are dedicating the opening ceremonies to the deceased Olympian and flags are at half-staff. His team will march in...I hope his parents never see the video.
Judie - hope you went to sears and got all those good discounts for your was/dryer. I guess with just the 2 of you that a was/dryer could live 40 yrs. I could go through them in no more than 15 years with my 5 kid family!
here is another link since the first one made some computers crash, maybe it will work better then hit on the link for live video maybe it will work better Great Horned Owl Cam Valmont Colorado
Well, after a long day we will have a new GE best buy washer delivered on Monday (unless the snow flies again). Then lunch, then grocery shopping, then putting groceries away, then so tired went out for dinner.
Looks like an eagle trying to incubate. Hurting heart.
Will catch up later or in the a.m.
Hope everyone had a nice day and stayed safe and warm.
In case I don't get back, Andy please set the alarm for us when you come in tonight.
Do you mind if I join your blog with Belle and Lib? I started watching last year right before the eaglet fledged. It was fascinating, so much so that I Looked up the eagles' nest again this January to catch the action from the beginning. Belle is an awesomely pretty bird and I am sure her babies will be too.
Your pictures are great! I too like the gazebo pic, it is a prizewinner, and I love that little daffodil working its way through the snow... school bus ? Was there school ?
Hi There BEagle... cool moniker..one time someone on here called a bagel a beagle I was just reminded of that. Of course! Another Sycamore Palace fan join us ?? ☺
Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian luge slider competing at the Vancouver Olympics, died today after crashing during a training run and hitting a metal pole. He was 21.
a luger (from Georgia I think, )crashed into a metal pole at a high rate of speed, and died, during a training run Paula...sure more will answer you too
Some of the earlier posts (from old thread I think) mentioned eggs, plural, and then most mentioned egg, singular at our nest...I am wondering about that
egg still uncovered at Valmont...don't want to start counting the minutes on that one... was cool to read that Bev watches that site diligently also.. egg was laid on Feb 10
think the wreck Hedgie mentioned happened in Morgan County...BLS (EMTs) crew handled it they did not call for ALS (Paramedics) so that is a good sign. I did so many car seat installations for several years....part of why I have back problems Just no sense in putting a child at risk !
Lynn - we took a call or two about Rustic Tavern Road this morning, paper person trying to get to Clearview got stuck coming in from Cherry Run Rd...glad you are plowed out now.
Ripple effects of this storm are awesome, farmer lady called state police because she could not get her milk to market !
We had boatloads of calls about vehicles getting stuck Asking all our callers for ambulances if their roads have been plowed....if not, we have to send more equipment Nothing too serious happened, no wrecks with injury in our county at least today
I gave you the still cam link several posts back Lynne I am now reposting the live feed link but that is the one that made your computer crash I read...
Loretta, didn't hear about the vehicle in the water---tragic.
Paula, I think Shirley got pics this Am of 2 eggs showing in our nest.
Margy, heard Rustic Tavern this am but no specifics. Poor gal---don't know how many customers she has on clearview, but I'm the only one on Getaway. Hope she makes it through okay tomorrow---with 4 days worth of papers again! Dee is a great carrier--these are the first days she's ever missed in 3 yrs.
Mits, I think I heard them say that the lugers' family was present when the accident happened. Awful memory for them.
Welcome BEagle! What part of our W&W state are you in?
Shirley lots of people around here are talking about needing their cars to get a realignment...maybe Kathryn's shop will have kind of business too....people having to drive in so many ruts and holes
wow our nest is so full of those sticks you were all talking about through the day! I won't see a daylight nest view for real until Monday.... that's crummy !
Mits, are you a white-knuckle driver like I am on snow/ice roads??? One of the best parts about retirement is that I NEVER have to do it again! Did Jay drive home from the station?
Hope Judie is relaxing---what a full day! Always found it remarkable that we could spend all the money grocery shopping and then be SO tired that we had go out to eat!!!
I just said to hubby, hope his family was not there, but you answered my question Lynn....I don't like to drive in it, but will if I have too, as I approached him he was directing me where to stop, he opened the door and said...Why don't you....and I snapped, Get in the car...he did...lol...hey I have Cabin fever, don't mess with me.
Our little carolina wrens winter over in the birdhouse gourds we have hanging outside. I often see one flying into the gourd hanging on my deck just before dark.
I should be watching the Olympics I know...but I am tired and headed to bed soon.
Lady Lorraine my neighbor finally threw in the towel and called for an ambulance at 7:30 am- she is overnighting it at City Hospital with a kidney infection, IV therapy, insurance will allow only one day, then she has to go to the hospital every day for several for daily IV treatments. Hope they can keep her at least one more day, she needs rest and relief. Thanks for your prayers, they led her to the hospital where she can begin to get better at least.
ambulance crew told her that I had given them their orders.. ☺
well Margy, I just can't get it! I clicked on your link and got a page that had several camera options (eagle, owl, falcon) so I clicked owl, a screen cam up like something was going to play, it said "connecting to media" then "ready" but nothing is showing. I must be missing something for the player it uses :(
Good evening all. It has been a tiring day. Margy so glad that your neighbor is getting some rest. Helen is a great driver. Very calm. Hope everyone has a restful night.

i wonder if we will get another egg soon or what?
Have been working on pics, now back to wathing the cam.
Thanks Steve. I left my post on the old one. Tried to carry it over but I really got messed up and had to sign in again.
Our eagle in egg cup
Don't know how long she/he has been there. Can't tell yet who it is.
Thanks Jo. I thought the gazebo pictures are great. Laurel wants me to print and frame a pic for her.
Sure looks like Belle and all of you were saying that Lib hasn't been near the egg cup.
The nest is looking good. They have brought in so many sticks and disturbed the snow.
Two!
Second eagle!
Hear the sweet nothings that they exchange?
Poof
Bringing over from old thread:
Oh, I am so angry----a wreck involving injured child that was sitting on its' mothers lap. Why are people so stupid????
And from PA Nana Diann:
Good afternoon.
Eagle just flew in! with more fluff?

Oh, Lynne---i hope your dogwood IS alive and makes it! I had always heard that transplanting them from the woods didn't work, too. And I know from experience that ferns don't!
where was the wreck, Lynn, stupid person.?
Lolly, left comments on your blog!
Close up of eagle at OK cam.
a luger Olympian has die following a crash during a training session up in Vancouver.
If I was connecting the right report with the right call, it was just about 2 miles from me, Mits.
37 here and the snow is melting fast. Was watching 3 male cardinals and one female fly around the feeder. Was hoping they would sit still long enough for a pic, but no luck.
Lynn, thanks for the comment. I love the pictures of the gazebo myself.
Second eagle!
what a shame, Lynn.
Yes, very stupid to be holding a child. Our boys are always buckled. I have a booster seat for both Jacob and Zach, so we do not have to move seats when we have them.
Thanks Lynn. I was having a terrible time with the blog. Got error messages several times. Must be the weather? heeheeheehee
I'm beginning to suffer with CABIN FEVER!!!
Geez, have to sign in again!
Hang in there Diann...have hope, spring will come!
Two elegant eagles now at OK.
Oh, Mits, what a sad start to the Olympic festivities tonight. Did they say what country he was from?
Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian luge slider competing at the Vancouver Olympics, died today after crashing during a training run and hitting a metal pole. He was 21.
Taking a late afternoon nap in our nest.
Thanks, Megan. His sled must have sped out of the luge track, I guess. They go so fast.
yep, Megan reported it before I got back on...they say this one in Vancouver is the fastest one ever....
Yeah, I saw the video, awful. Said he was going at speeds over 90 mph when it happened.
WOW! Roads are clear enough to go over the mountain and eat at Bob Evans
Be Back in Little While
have not seen video yet, makes me cringe, when I see it when it works
eagle seems to be sleeping
eagle awake
OMG- did Jo just leave for Bob Evans without us?
yes, she did:(
Lolly, love your Normal snow pictures!!!Lovely!
Got call--supposed to go to work in AM. Say roads are clear? but news reporter just mentioned that all the melted stuff will be ice in the AM---AARRGGHH!
Gotta do hair I guess & get din din b4 Olympics.
Tire warehouse roof collqase in Dallas. No injuries.
Snowed in Rome---rare. Most in 25 yrs!
Snwoing in Baton Rouge.
Not global warming....global wierding!!
I think all this snow and ice and cold and cabin fever are making my typos get worse!!! Know you know what I MEANT to type!!!
Lynne, your dogwood just might make it. I have a patch of ferns from the woods--had a spring beauty

Eagle flew in with fluff
Get up! Have brought more fluff!
Yeah. Where is this Global Warming??? At Al Gore's house?
gross butt in the face:)
Lynn you know we are experts of reading between the typos:)
My Gosh, looks like sun on the nest.
If she continues to go back and sit on than partially attended egg, will there be more laid?
was there food in that fluff?
good one, Loretta:)
and back again
Only in for a moment, but i am going
to ask this question again. Are you sure this is same male as last year.

Poof! Nest empty!

Eagle back and headinjg to the egg cup.
I know Megan. It's worrisome because each of the last storms they started days in advance with lower forecasted snowfalls and slowly eeked them up in the days coming closer to the event.
Each of the last storms passed through here first....is the one we just experienced coming your way? It has just started snowing in Atlanta.

I know you all have been watching
this nest for a long time.
I am jsut giving my observations as an eagle observer,
I do not mean to offend anyone
State road just came through again...and closed my driveway in......argh!
no Lolly, it is supposed to go straight off the coast and not turn north, but with Mother Nature this year...who knows
Bev, you didn't offend me, just giving my 2 cents worth. It's all good:)
I think I will jsut go and watch.
I can feel the offensive here.
Just trying to help.
most males have a more cucumber head and the females head and neck are usually thicker, that is how I judge them when I do not know. I also try to look at their collars. I have been trying to get to know this pair .
But I will keep my observations to myself .

here come the geese...
oh Bev, your comments are welcome on here! I don't think anyone is offended. I think we all have an incredible emotional attachment to this pair, but we can't know 100%, it's a valid point.
If you offend anyone, we'll send Judie to bite you!
Geese are flying in...
No No No, Bev. We are thrilled to have you on here. You fit right in! Please, take no offence to our responses. I have been on here for this my third season, I can barely tell them appart when they are together. I certainly respect those who know more. My opinion is just what I feel. lol

Noooooo! Do not sic Judie on her!
It's good that the geese are flying. It takes too long for them to walk.
FYI Bev....I STILL can't tell them apart! But I've only been watching about 8 or 9 months so far. Just when I think I know....I don't!
Speaking of Judie....wonder if she got her new washer, to replace the one she, uh, killed...shhh
Yes, Lynne, I love that site ever since you told me about it. I have heard 3 to 6" and 4 to 8". Watching channel 4 right now, may have to kick the tv.
Oh, Bev, we were so thrilled to have you join us. I know these people and I know that they are not offended. I will admit that I can't even tell the eagles apart.

Having said that I am watching Lib and Belle.
and that is the very good thing Bev, you have fresh eyes, and expertise and not a strong emotional attachment, so refreshing to have you here.
uh oh, Televisionacide. It's getting bad here....
Well said Mits!
Going to fix dinner, BBL
Amen to that , Glo....they will always be Belle and Lib...even if it is Harry and Henritta there now...just kidding:)
Hey folks, Will says the birds are building a nest in my birdhouse. What would build a nest this early?
well hope they are not expecting more bad weather, Shirley
LOL Mits you are very lucky I have retired the wet noodle.
just checked in with Bill/Red...not snowing in his neck of the woods.
oh, there is a God, but Jo, still has the eagle cane....plus the wet noodle would be frozen by the time it got here...ouch.
and Judy might bite me.
have not heard from hubby yet, train was supposed to be in DC around 5:30p.m. so must be running late.
I personally think you all are suffering from CABIN FEVER! Oh dread!
Well, hubby home and then he is going to try and look at my computer to see what is wrong with it so I will not have cam up.

Bye Bev! I am leaving as well. Time to get ready to go out.
Will be back late!
feel so sorry for his teamates, what should be a joyous time, will be sad for them, just saw the video, and it was horrific:( Bless his soul.
Evening, all!
Busy day at work, haven't checked on anything since noon, way behind on the blog....
Poor Belle, guess she just can't give it up yet, I see her incubating with her head tucked back.
There is snow on the ground in some part of all 49 states on the continent. Unbelievable.
Hope Jo said "hi" to Bob for us. Bob Evans has good food.
That is good news Lynn. Hope he continues doing well.
Yes, good news, Lynn.
Lolly, beautiful snow pictures. I like the gazebo picture, too. It looks like a Christmas card. You could make it your card for next Christmas.
Need to go fix supper.
BBL.
Did someone say Tom Selleck....woo hoo!
Mits have you heard from your hubby yet?
Shirley, I don't THINK birds are building nests this early...but, they often go into bird houses to roost in cold weather...maybe that is what's going on.
Lolly, looked at your blizzard pics again. Yes, the gazebo is a keeper, but I also like the open metal gate - so welcoming.
... later
Yes, Mits...what's the word on Jay??
Sofa time for Jeopardy. WOndering if they will tone down the opening ceremonies of the Olympics at all after todays' tragedy?
Margy....are you in your roost yet? Is your neighbor lady okay??
At least hubby made it over to the Post Office and hopefully my Valentines are headed to their destination. I had ordered some book from Amazon last evening and when it
came to Shipping - there were no guarantees of delivery times in the eastern US...
His team will march in...I hope his parents never see the video.
good news for Rick, hope he improves fast.
Judie - hope you went to sears and got
all those good discounts for your was/dryer. I guess with just the 2 of you that a was/dryer could live 40 yrs.
I could go through them in no more than 15 years with my 5 kid family!
I am taking a break..........
Will check back in for Margy and for Mits up to the minute report on jubby's getting home safely.
BBILW
Lady Valmont is off the egg and standing at the outside rim of the nest box NOW
Hello everyone, reading up on the posts xo
here is another link since the first one made some computers crash, maybe it will work better then hit on the link for live video maybe it will work better
Great Horned Owl Cam Valmont Colorado
Geeze! Second time in 24 hours that I just missed JO with the Lady Valmont Report !
Hello everyone, had to catch up first
Glad jubby is home Mits... I used to ride the Red Line from Union Station to Farragut Square, for four years, 1977-1981.
Lynn, were you talking about child on someone's lap in car accident?
There was another accident w/1 or 2children in car that went into water.
Shirley, birds building nest in the house are Early Birds!!! Sorry, they are probably fixing area to roost at night.
egg alone at Valmont, cannot see if bird is on the outside perch or not
MeMa Jo, I'm coming up for cherry pie. Might take a couple days!
Lynn prayers for your friend Rick...hope he continues to improve and get back to his other roost...and then make more improvements from there... ♥
Hi everyone,
Well, after a long day we will have a new GE best buy washer delivered on Monday (unless the snow flies again).
NatureNut...loved your description of ferns and the Spring Beauty in the middle of it....one of the early springtime wildflowers I long to see !!
Hope Judie & Darth aren't having trouble sliding that washer home on a sled.
Oh BEagle, please join us! There is plenty of room in the nest!
Lolly ( who is out laughing at poetry now...)
Your pictures are great! I too like the gazebo pic, it is a prizewinner, and I love that little daffodil working its way through the snow...
school bus ? Was there school ?
All are welcome to join this blog, BEagle:)
Margy, I think the spring beauty is long gone, but now I've gotten the idea to find another! Maybe I have a pic somewhere.
Back to other room~~~~~
what was the olympics tragedy?
Hi There BEagle...
cool moniker..one time someone on here called a bagel a beagle I was just reminded of that.
Of course! Another Sycamore Palace fan join us ?? ☺
Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian luge slider competing at the Vancouver Olympics, died today after crashing during a training run and hitting a metal pole. He was 21.
a luger (from Georgia I think, )crashed into a metal pole at a high rate of speed, and died, during a training run Paula...sure more will answer you too
Belle up and egg roll, back down same position
Some of the earlier posts (from old thread I think) mentioned eggs, plural, and then most mentioned egg, singular at our nest...I am wondering about that
Thanks M & M...haven't seen any news yet this evening...such a shame.
Most of the day we have been able to see one egg, Margy.
I didn't see egg(s), just saw the motion
egg still uncovered at Valmont...don't want to start counting the minutes on that one...
was cool to read that Bev watches that site diligently also..
egg was laid on Feb 10
I did read on other blog they covered and then uncovered it
On the name, it's difficult to be original. Glad you like.
Y'all make me laugh. : D
missed the egg roll, darn..that was fast, I am jumping from here to there and back to Valmont
OK, you guys watch Valmont...I think Starr ranch owlets already hatched
I think they got Rt 340 westbound open today
Yes they said they got 340 westbound open around 3:15. Fred post has a picture.
think the wreck Hedgie mentioned happened in Morgan County...BLS (EMTs) crew handled it they did not call for ALS (Paramedics) so that is a good sign. I did so many car seat installations for several years....part of why I have back problems
Just no sense in putting a child at risk !
ok thanks Megan and Paula, I did see an egg roll and one egg before leaving for work this morning ☺
BEagle
I got lucky with my moniker...its a childhood nickname (well, teenaged childhood) and I squawk a lot like Magpies do
and Paula and our dear precious Momster Deb who died in November 2009, set me up with my avatars ☺ this one is from Paula
there were no hatches at Valmont last year, but I remember two eggs...not sure what came about there to end up with no hatches
Lynn -
we took a call or two about Rustic Tavern Road this morning, paper person trying to get to Clearview got stuck coming in from Cherry Run Rd...glad you are plowed out now.
Ripple effects of this storm are awesome, farmer lady called state police because she could not get her milk to market !
I don't know when I can get to Morgan County to see my grandson
:(
but I did reschedule my hair appt for Tuesday, watch us get snowed up again :(
We had boatloads of calls about vehicles getting stuck
Asking all our callers for ambulances if their roads have been plowed....if not, we have to send more equipment
Nothing too serious happened, no wrecks with injury in our county at least today
and no icicle tragedies either
OK, I must be too stupid to view the GHO at Valmont. Is it a streaming video? I have to keep refreshing it.
welcome BEagle:)...some beautiful country up there in Vancouver:)
hi BEagle, welcome to the blog!!!
I gave you the still cam link several posts back Lynne I am now reposting the live feed link but that is the one that made your computer crash I read...
Live feed at Valmont GHO cam
all of us seem to have some sort of quirk with certain computer things...
YOU ARE NOT STUPID LYNNE!
DON'T TALK ABOUT MY FRIEND THAT WAY
LOL ☺
Welcome BEagle!
Lynne, I hope they are just bringing in materials to help keep warm in the birdhouse.
I am happy to shelter them with my little birdhouse.
Will surely look forward to a new round of Glo's Glimpses
sure is nice to see BWE back up
Judie, glad to see you got your washer-dryer. Hope it gets delivered on Monday. Are they taking away the body, er old washer?
Shirley
lots of people around here are talking about needing their cars to get a realignment...maybe Kathryn's shop will have kind of business too....people having to drive in so many ruts and holes
wow our nest is so full of those sticks you were all talking about through the day! I won't see a daylight nest view for real until Monday....
that's crummy !
but I can rely on your all's pictures - thanks!
How awful that the luge man's family was there. I can't even imagine. I'm sorry I watched on the news...how horrible.
Shirley, do you know what kind of birds they are?
Margy, I'll try the link...I think it was OUR cam that was messing with my 'puter this morning. I'll have to do some reading about GHO nesting habits!
Opening ceremonies are starting!
Shirley---tee-hee---we told Judie to hide the body of the victim in a snow drift, reemeber??
They dedicated the opening ceremonies to the athlete that died today.
off to watch
This is so cool, I am sitting on the sofa with my laptop...my mouse works great, just using it on the sofa!
Our little carolina wrens winter over in the birdhouse gourds we have hanging outside. I often see one flying into the gourd hanging on my deck just before dark.
Oh, Mits, I can picture you now!!! Grrrrr, girlfriend!
that's great Megan...love those little chirpy birds....they are hard to pick out in the woods...
let's hope for more towhees this year !
well Margy, I just can't get it! I clicked on your link and got a page that had several camera options (eagle, owl, falcon) so I clicked owl, a screen cam up like something was going to play, it said "connecting to media" then "ready" but nothing is showing. I must be missing something for the player it uses :(
Sure hope Lorraine gets better FAST!
I know it's cold in Colorado and that egg is still uncovered...hope there is rhyme and reason for that
Best wishes to all, I have to get some sleep...
Enjoyed reading everyone's posts but fingers are cramping up and I can't commment on all of them.
Rest well, Be of Good Cheer, and
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ☺ ♥
Earlier, Belle was placing those sticks to the left of her. What would you call that, a snow wall?
might be an ActiveX control, not sure Lynne...Mema Jo will probably find something for you that works, she is the Valmont Pro...
I hope the hospital keeps Lorraine one more day...
Thanks precious pals.
My fingers and my whole body is saying TTFN xo
Good evening all. It has been a tiring day.
Margy so glad that your neighbor is getting some rest.
Helen is a great driver. Very calm.
Hope everyone has a restful night.
She tried Margy, but same thing happened.
Split is coming.
Oh welcome to all the new people.
Just checking in on Belle and you all here on the blog. Olympics having a beautiful opening.
Did anyone just see the egg roll??
I swear I saw it... I guess I better watch for awhile.
Taking some time off to watch the Olympics. BBL.
