Thanks Kickngbird

Good Morning Everyone!!Sunny here now before more wet weather returns;>(
Sorry I've been AWOL. Had a wonderful retirement party yesterday for a great,50ish,young guy. Must have been a couple hundred people there. He & wife will be heading off to Haiti & Guatemala w/church group to build houses. They can build one for $1000, so luncheon money collected is going towards that.
Got new monitor. Boy,is it W I D E!!!!Hope it doesn't distort pics.
Gonna check Live. Haven't seen that for awhile.

Thanks Mits...I got all tangled up between programs this morning had live feed up after daylight and was cleaning out browsing history which took 5 minutes! During that time I heard all kinds of nest noises and knew I was missing something....but couldn't get to it!
no doubt a good egg roll was going on then and maybe even a switch

Good Morning All - just coming in on the new thread - will need to go back and read earlier comments.
I have been watching the Downy this morning - he brought with him 2 girlfriends - they are all over the suet. They are moving too fast for me to get a pic.

hedgie said...

Some patches of bare ground starting to show over septic tank! About time.
And I have bluebirds!! Threw out more seed and they were on it instantly.

hedgie said...

Dana, it's the Wildlife Center of Virginia in Harrisonburg. You can get to it through the NBG link.

hedgie said...

Megan, if you are lurking...sure hope you are feeling much better today!

message from Sparky at Dunedin....

I'm from the D.C. area and live in Delaware now in the summer.
I know that the mid-Atlantic and further north have been hammered this winter....incredible...
it has been a very tough year for the birds and everyone else
the are working on the DunedinOspreyCam today...trouble shooting electrical connections, transformer, etc. Hopefully it is not the camera itself...
i'll let you known when and if it gets back up

Good morning! Blue sky, very bright sunshine, and 34 presently. Keeping an eye on BWE. Good chance they could have Frosty II and Snow White II, huh? Well, we know they can handle that!

Stayed up late working on slides and did not even come back here to say good night, I apologize for bad manners.

Lynn, how are you feeling?

Do hope Megan is feeling better.

Mits said...

From BWE....

We hear more snow is coming on Thursday. We'll have to trust our parents can handle it as they've done in the past.

Weather Note
More snow is coming our way and may impact our image updating at some point.

Lolly said...

Mits, thanks for the Thailand Panda cam. Was watching Mom and babe playing. So cute! Then Mom went to a corner on the platform to take care of some "business". Then saw a gloved hand reach in and pick it up.

Ragdoll said...

Good Morning/Afternoon Eagle Friends. I have been very busy at school today. Giving Skills USA test today. It;s raining real hard here. Going to get 2-4 inches of rain. Flood warnings.

Mits said...

yeah the hand is there alot, puts little bamboo sticks in there for the cub, and the cub plays with them

Lolly said...

Anxiously awaiting your pictures,
Ragdoll of your kitties. Suzanne, who was on yesterday is a big fan of kitties. I am too, but I only have one.

hedgie said...

Good cam shot, Mits. Don't think I've seen that one before. ROFLMBO on the translation!!!! Does "force defecate" means she was constipated???? LOL!!!
Nice clear cam, for sure. How old is she, do you know?

Lolly said...

Yes, I was laughing at the traslations, too. So funny!

Lynn, still feeling bad?

Lolly said...

You know, we have a nurse on here that can tell you what is wrong.☺

Mits said...

no really don't know anything about the pandas there, I thought the translation was funny too...was just surfing the net one day and found it, yesterday the hand was tickling the cub

Lolly said...

Oh, I want to tickle the cub!

Mits said...

yeah me too:)

Lolly said...

I guess the english translation of the cubs name is Ball. Cute!

Mits said...

it just asked me in Taiwanese if I wanted to continue watching, at least I think that is what it asked me:)

hedgie said...

Feeling okay now....must have just been hungry!
I wanna tickle a cub, too! Wonder if they laugh??

glo said...

Good morning everyone. Gosh I hate reading about that "s" word coming your way. I have been busy all morning with pictures. Good thing I am retired or I would have no time to enjoy something I so love. If I were 30 years younger I would sell the house and go buy the big stuff LOL. My kids would shoot me if I did that now LOL. Besides I would need a caddy to carry it all around.

Dex and I will head out to the dam in a couple of hours. Its like 12 degrees here and winds are 18 mph out of NW so will be quite "refreshing" out there today. But its time to get in every minute we can til next year. Saw a juvie get his tlaon bloodied yesterday trying to not get his fish stolen. That made me sad. I hope he isn't sore today and is flying and fishing. I will surely be watching for him.

Lolly said...

Mits, they certainly have some cute videos on there. Watched the first one of Ball's birth. Jack asked "What is that?" Boy, Ball came out really loud! lol

Mits said...

thanks, have not seen them yet.

Lolly said...

Have been playing long enough. Time to eat and then excercise. Keeping an eye on BWE!

Stronghunter, Your dog is adorable. I see a gentle dog with wisdom in her eyes. So sorry for you news from the vet. You your dog and your family are in my prayers.

Lynn I hope you feeling better. Thanks for the crockpot recipes site. Can't wait to try some right away.

Mitts, thank you for the second crockpot recipes site also.

Mema Jo - Downy's are fun to watch. I have them also, along with Hairys and 1 Pileate. In the winter we have about 32 turkeys hanging around or bird feeders. My hubby feeds them. If they are at the feeders than they are having a hard time to find food because the snow gets to deep. We spend about $75.00 a year for whole corn and turkey pellets.

Am I seeing things, looks like the sun is out at the nest.

Suzanne said...

Hi guys! 2 days in a row, it's gonna snow or something. Working from home, which is currently the library.

Mits said...

your welcome Ragdoll.....hey there Suzanne....

Mema Jo said...

HI SUZANNE ! Good to have you here.

Ragdoll - it is really the sun !

Suzanne I'm not going to blame the snow that's coming on your being here.
lol It is great that you can work from home! I'll have to put you, Sharon and Sissy in the same category.

Costume Lady said...

Lynn and Helen, glad you reminded me of GG's pouting last Friday:) I'll try to clear that up when I see her today. I will write a note and tape it to her nightstand so that she will remember our decision;)

Costume Lady said...

Lolly, dear...glad you lost that extra 6 lbs. It can really creep up on you quickly:(

I have to laugh remembering Dustin saying his mother gave him soup when he was sick but he didn't want me to fix soup, said Pizza would do:)

Opps - Have to help student with a computer for a test.
Be back soon. ^..^

hedgie said...

No, Wanda, don't much care fro chicken soup. Had oatmeal!

Sunshine for sure here in the panhandle! Weak, but it's shining, and sky is blue. Forecast is really screwy...who knows what will happen. Sissy is expecting quite a bit if forecast for Bluefield is right.

Suz, you gotta get internet at home! Then you don't have to leave the house. Check out Cricket. My sis is getting it.

Glo, hope the wounded talon does not a pose a problem for that eagle.

Mits said...

honey crate time at the NZ for the pandas

Suzanne said...

LOL, and what category is that, Jo??? The lucky ones that can sleep late? (well, 5 or so is late for me)

Hi Glo! Long time no see! Hi Mits! Hi Wanda! Did you get your furniture moved yesterday? If it were me moving furniture, I would still be moving it. I move something and decide I don't like it there, then have to move the stuff again. Figured that out a long time ago, so now the stuff stays where it is.

Checked on BWE, no baby yet. Should be any day now.

Costume Lady said...

Yes, Suz, got all the furniture in place, but don't have catalogs, supplies, etc. put away yer. Too many interuptions...like playing with new 'puter;) LOL

Suzanne said...

LOL, well at least you have good interruptions! New 'puters are always a good thing!

hedgie said...

Well, gee, depending on the shift of the sotrm, we could get anywhere between 2 and 24"......isn't that reassuring???

paula eagleholic said...

Egg roll our nest!

Howdy Suz

Mits said...

yeah I looked at 5 different weather sites, who knows, but earlier reports have the most snow east of the Chesapeake Bay, but that could change also, worried about BWE:(

Suzanne said...

Hey, Paula! How's it going?

Hedgie, I'm getting the same forecast, but not as bad as yours. Mine says 2-12 inches. Heck, I still can't see my yard from the last snows! It's just white everywhere. Makes it easy to check the birdie prints, though, and track the stray cats that come to eat.

Lolly said...

Hi Suz! How great it is to get on and see your name!

Just saw BWE up and either rolling an egg or looking into the nest.

Suzanne said...

Hi Lolly! Good to see you too. BWE should have a hatch any day now. Wish we were having better weather for the new guy!

Suzanne said...

Mits, did you get different forecasts when you checked the different weather sites? Seems like it's going to be farther east, but that could affect BWE! Sure hope it doesn't.

Mits said...

yes, Suzanne, looks that way

Lolly said...

Both BWE eaglets hatched into snow last year. They are great parents, can do it again!

Suzanne said...

Let's hope they can! I have confidence in them.

Feeding time and switch time in Carolina

Suzanne said...

Awwww, little beaking between Savannah and Derek, now cute is that!

Lolly said...

BWE is tending eggs again. About that time she can hear them. Sure wish it was a live cam.

Be sure to see the Hornby video. It really is funny!

paula eagleholic said...

paula eagleholic said...

Suzanne said...

paula eagleholic said...

Costume Lady said...

Lib loves Eggbert too:)

Suzanne said...

Uh oh, library has to reboot the server. Guess it's time for me to go anyway. Nice talking to everyone, and have a great evening. Pray for no snow!!!!

hedgie said...

Nope, Jim, not watching.....hate listening to people lie through their teeth!

movin said...

Hahaha. Well, I guess that's one way of looking at it.

But I think there have been enough injuries and deaths, enough public attention to these faults, that we'll probably get some action on this one.

hedgie said...

Jim, betcha Toyota won't get strung up the way an American company would.....how many years did they get away with not having to meet the same safety standards that domestics did??!!
Once the government allowed and helped them become the largest auto company in the world, they will get all kinds of kid-glove handling. JMHO as a GM retiree (who didn't have union perks!).

See you good folks later..........

movin said...

I probably have not been as close to the situations you describe as you; although I've had my own negative experiences with Japanese cars. And I don't buy their cars as a result.

But this involves the safety of many American consumers, so I'm looking at it, and looking closely, from that perspective.

hedgie said...

Female trainer at Sea World in Orlando fell into whale pool and whale killed her. Terrible.

movin said...

Did you read any details, Hedgie?

I sounds very unusual... although they have had a non-fatal attack or two at San Diego years ago.

C(°Ù¿°)D

Jim

Mema Jo said...

I will do that, Hedgie!

The sea world - TV says the female trainer just finished speaking to the audience and the what just grabbed her by the waist and kept shaking her.
I can't imagine families or anyone viewing that. Said the last one was 2006 in San Diego

Mema Jo said...

(my type - the what was to be
The Whale..) Hopfully they will have
a report from sea world.

Lolly said...

Just googled and read about the trainer that was killed. Just think of the shock for all that witnessed it.

Mema Jo said...

We are going out the door to take Alexis to Bob Evans - they may have the face painting and balloon animals or such this evening.

Lolly said...

On line is says the whale cam up and grabbed her, the news on tv says she fell into the tank.?????

Both eagles were in the nest at BWE, one now poofed.

Lolly said...

Have fun, Jo and Alexis!!!!

Costume Lady said...

I think we should start calling Jo, MEMA-BOB. I have only had their breakfast once, never anything else. I worked for the Bob Evans company for a few years after I retired from the banking business. Enjoyed it very much and they paid well:) Just a few days a week. Ideal for me.

Costume Lady said...

Got this message from FONZ:

Dear Wanda,

We've gotten word that Tai Shan settled in well in his quarantine enclosure. His appetite is good - he's eating the new bamboo and is even warming up to the "panda bread." He's responding to Chinese language commands pretty well. He understands his keeper's requests to stand up and sit down.

It snowed in Bifengxia during the first week of the Chinese New Year celebration, creating a white playground for Tai. As was his habit at the National Zoo, Tai Shan went right outside to play and enjoy the beauty of his forested wonderland.

T-Bird said...

Good evening eagle momsters and dadsters.

hedgie said...

Isn't that typical of Tai to PLAY in the snow??? LOL! I got that email, too.
What did you do at Bob's place, Wanda? Was it at the one here?

hedgie said...

Hi, Thelma!! Are you getting rain??

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone!
Have been working around the house today; so far have managed to do a boatload of laundry, and a bunch of other stuff. Right now, waiting for Hubby to get home from work.

Have a Medical Laboratory class tonight--supposed to teach you the various medical tests that Drs. do, what they're for, and the normal range of results for each of them.
Will be lots to remember!

Feels like it's possibly going to rain tonight. I think they predicted rain, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it will.

Lynn, glad your oatmeal did the trick, and you're feeling better!
Megan, hope you're better, too!
Dana, hope your eye is better--how is it doing?

Was shocked and saddened to hear about the whale trainer at Sea World. Seems to me that if a particular whale is a danger to people, they should not use it in the shows.

Oops--Hubby is home. Need to spend some time with him before I need to leave for school. Have a good evening, and I'll be back much later, after school. :o]

T-Bird said...

Yeah Hedgie, rain here. We had some snow here today too.

Dana Gray said...

Good evening everyone. I sure hope everyone had a great day.

hedgie said...

Hi, Andy, bye Andy!
T-bird, do you have any on the ground now? Presently they are saying 1-2" here between tonight and Fri. night-----real worrisome, huh??

magpie said...

Oh, no parents YET at Valmont...

Lynn, I spent from noon to 6 with James, he is responding to the medication, just hoping his dad continues the dispensing of it all the way through. He might return to school Thursday, thanks for asking
and for others' concerns too.

magpie said...

Wow how cool is it that Suzanne can be here with us ☺ ♥

magpie said...

hoping that Andy's medical test goes well tonight

magpie said...

I was watching live feed for awhile before dark, saw I guess it was Liberty come in with a rather long skinny stick, reminded me of the Hornby video, then watched I guess it was Liberty, eating the leftover meal whatever it was.
The roosting bird had glaring eyes, would have been nice to see some sharing of the chow

Can anyone tell me, have we truly seen TWO eggs today? Didn't get much of a view earlier...could see what seemed like one...but couldn't really tell about seeing two

magpie said...

man that big stick at LW sure glows in the dark !

Hello everyone, Took along time to get back. It got real busy at school. Then our Internet went down. Found out a the end of the day that the system was unplugged. Hi,

I took Luna to the vet today for bloodwork and a bath. She will have surgery on her eye next week. The regular vet can remove the eye, but Kathryn is going to take her to the specialist. They will be able to put in a prothesis so that it will look like her eye is normal. One option was to remove the eye and sew the lid closed, but it is not terribly more expensive to have the prothesis put in. I agreed with Kathryn that it is worth a couple of hundred more dollars to do that. Luna is such a pretty basset. She was bred by people who breed show dogs, although I wonder if they know that there must be a gene for eye problems in there somewhere.

Something we have been wondering about--Flash has been licking Luna's eye for some time--the eye that is damaged. We have been wondering if he knew something was wrong. Kathryn kept trying to keep him from licking the eye, thinking that he was causing it to be irritated, but Luna did not seem to mind. Obviously he didn't cause glaucoma.

magpie said...

I thought Hornbys were like Lucy & Ricky Riccardo ... I gather there have been questions today about how many eggs there are & maybe it's just a lot of fluff there now but I could only clearly see one.

stronghunter said...

Ah, high school juniors and seniors. I know them well. Some of them do not have much sense.

I had a young lady yesterday who got insulted because I told her to stop talking--she didn't claim she wasn't talking or anything like that. She just thought she should be allowed to talk just because that was what she wanted to do.

stronghunter said...

She just could not believe that a mere teacher would have the nerve to tell her to be quiet.

We have some real great students. It's those few that get to you. I want to help them, but they just don't care. Makes me wounder what home life is like for them. But it's not always the home life. I have parents who will work hard and still the student just rebels.

Stronghunter, Luna is a beautiful gal. I would also go for the prothesis if it was me.

I kept wondering if the two eagles would ever try going in the same direction with that stick!
Thanks I am behind, did not realize there is an egg there, or missed someone post before this probably

Hi Loretta...love the new cardinal ☺
meant to say, earlier than this, how neat what your co-worker retired fellow and his wife are going to do in Haiti and Guatemala,
that is a really special mission

Shirley
I would like to do a "ride-along" with you in your classes...this stuff is too much !!!

Ragdoll said...

Stronghunter, I don't know what is wrong with some of these kids. I will be walking around helping other students and a student will ask for some paper. (they know where it is.) They will hold out their arm for me to get it for them. Which I don't. Very Lazy!!! urrrrr!

Kickngbird:

Were you talking about Hornby or NCTC about the egg/s
I think I got confused when I read your post and put clearly see one and Hornby together....can you help me out here ?

Ragdoll said...

Shirley - do yours take out their cellphones in class and text knowing they may lose it for the day.

Mits said...

Margy I don't think Hornby has eggs yet...

magpie said...

I've been the one mostly asking about how many eggs K-bird...
haven't seen anyone else asking about it
at best I have seen one egg and something else in poor view that could be a second egg

magpie said...

Thanks Mits... I just got confused about it....
when I go to Maine Forum, it is all I can not to go from nest site to nest site....
just not enough time !
I'm headed over to the Yahoo E-M page now, way behind on checking that

some of the students you all are talking about, remind me of some adults I know too :(
but No One on Here ! just people in my other world

magpie said...

...sigh....all this time, no adults have returned to Valmont, I even closed out the site and brought it back up hoping it was my computer

Ragdoll said...

Magpie, I also can relate with the adults.

stronghunter said...

Yes, I have had kids take out their cell phones plenty of times. Our rule is that we're not supposed to be able to see the phone. They are to keep them put away and turned off. If the phone gets confiscated, the parent has to come get it, unless they are 18. Eighteen-year-olds can get their own phones back.

Ragdoll said...

wwwwwwwwwww....Thanks for letting me vent. I don't have to deal with the buggers in the morning.
I have a Dr. appt....Getting the results from a MRI. Having back issues. need prayers for positive news. Please and thank you.

stronghunter said...

Prayers for you, Ragdoll. Hope all is well.

Ragdoll, this is the perfect place to bring prayer requests. Something powerful happens around here.

Ragdoll said...

We have policies too. They don't always work. I am in the Vocational Center. Have alot of male students. They can get pretty rough.

kickngbird said...

magpie - my bad - should separate by paragraphs when changing nest discussions!

No eggs at Hornby, just sitcom nest prep.

Work has been crazy, little time for me to check out NCTC but tonight I skimmed posts and saw your queries about how many eggs can be seen so I made a point to look when Belle got up but only saw one egg. May be just lots of fluff.

Ragdoll said...

Thank you Sharon, That's nice to know. Prayers can be very powerful.

hedgie said...

Shirley, is Flash another Bassett?
He was licking because there was probably drainage. Had that happen with my SharPei, too.
Prosthesis sounds like a good plan.

Hey, Sharon---and Mattie, too! Hope schoolbooks traveled with you!!

kickngbird said...

Egg roll just now - only saw one. I'm beginning to wonder if we're down to one egg.

magpie said...

thanks kickngbird...
I sometimes speed read and get confused...but I know what you are talking about now ☺

Ragdoll
yes, prayers for your back, and a positive outcome or therapy...
been there done that...have degenerative discs at L-4 and 5, and S-1 - since 2001 - and probably more by now

We welcome all prayer requests here xo ♥

Ragdoll said...

Thank you also Shirley!!!!!

magpie said...

there are many little feathers in the nest at Valmont
I emailed Jo...she loves that nest cam!

darn I missed a position change at the OUR nest

I have several nighttime nest shots on the Momsters album taken from over the last few days and could only see one, just figured I was missing more during the daytime views

as we say, More to Be Revealed

hedgie said...

Ragdoll, one of my favs from Shirley was the young lady who didn't think her grade was fair because Shirley knows more than she does!! And the boy who turned in his laptop rather than a printed report!!

Hi, Loretta! Any good sights at the park today?

hedgie said...

Kickngbird, Momster prayers are powerful!!!

Maybe I should change my avatar to a zipper, a closed zipper, didn't mean to talk on and on tonight

Going to Split soon, I am going to bail out before then

eyelids down to my ankles...
Best wishes and all prayers for all of us, our families, our pets, and wildlife

God Bless Us, Every One

Hi all! Lynn, having problems with my machine to transfer slides. Really frustrated and have quit for the evening. Grrrr!

Hi Ragdoll! Yep, powerful, awesome prayers from this group. Very special folks on here.

Thought of Luna while watching TV. They had a story about a husky sled dog in Canada. The dog went blind. They tried turning it into a pet, did not work. Did not want to destroy the dog, (as recommended) and decided the dog still wanted to run. Sure enough, blind dog loves pulling the sled. Loves to run! A very special dog.

Magpie - Referring Dr. said I have possible two blown dics, L-7 and L4, but the concern is I have a cyst on the right side of spine. It is there because my body is trying to protect the blown dics. Have some aching, numbness, pins and needles etc down right leg. Again, prayers are powerful.

I am sorry you have had back problems. I know how you feel. What is the prognosis for you.

I haven't read all comments since I was last here. Got caught up in another Hallmark Movie.

I have a pic of our nest from 2/23 showing clearly 2 eggs. I post it
over in the album and get your comments on it.
