as far as I know about SD Zoo, they do not have volunteers manning the cams...so it is up to the keepers to set the cams, and they are way to busy to worry about that, their job is to take care of the Giant Pandas, and if they get a chance to change it then that is good:)
No more weekly exams for baby Yun Zi. Guess he's just too rambunctious to make it time well-spent since they can't really examine him they way they would like to! Going on exhibit SOON!
They said they were trying to change Diego's sleep habits. He is up and about too early for the visitors to see him and then is napping when the zoo opens.
Tee hee Lynn-Hedgie you call yourself a klutz. Bet you never did this one before: Got a special Christmas/Holiday spray made with pine, pine cones, berry, and white flower, and red flowers. It was heavy and with the wind getting up so high. Wanted to anchor it down better at Ed's headstone in cemetery. Done got it looks good and Gingers Florist did a great job. Standing back and looking it is beautiful. If flowers die I'm just going to get red and white poinsettia or chistmas lillies silk maybe.
Anyhow I leaded over to pick up a tool I had to use and the head (you know all that thinking up there I've never used) weighed me over till I was on the ground in the snow. SULTZ!! Well that wasn't bad enough. There were some people sitting in there car. What did I do....oh the natural thing to do in a cemetery --- I put my arms and legs out and make an angel. lol
Oh, my gosh! I actually see an eagle in our nest! I got here at the right time! YAAAAY! Oh--good morning, everyone! You guys certainly DID get more snow, too! Hate to have to say it, but although it's kinda cold here, the SUN is out already! Say, HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE, you guys!
Good morning! Well, nice to see an eagle in a snowy nest! Been reading the blog and enjoying a few laughs.
Must not let Jack hear about weeds and weedings on cruise ships or he will never take me again! lol
Ahhh! NYE, what are we gong to do. Have been invited to a party, but may just stay home. Cooking up a special dinner tonight. We bought veal to make Saltimbocca tonight. Also going to make a new recipe of Four cheese Risotto. I think staying home and enjoying a good bottle of wine in front of the fire sounds good.
Hi Andy! California and Texas...crazy. Last week we had 75 one day and snow the next. Got a Texas magazine today that always has a special pictures section. This month the theme was snow in Texas. There was a picture of a little girl walking in a field of bluebonnets and snow is on the ground! Presently is is cloudy and 46 here.
DANA!---I think something or someone ate my last post to you!
I couldn't stop laughing when you said you tripped & then you just put your arms out & made an ANGEL! --- NEVER CHANGE--ALWAYS KEEP THAT SENSE OF HUMOR!---LUV YA!
My resolutions: To sing in the shower, dance in the rain, and seek serenity when it most evades me, To be grateful everyday for love, life and friendship. To see adversity as a speed bump and not a wall or a dark hole. To find inspiration in people, nature and art. And most of all, to live every day as if it might be my last chance to get it right.

What a day to spring a leak in my water system. Repair man is on the way. Hope he can fix it. Not nice to be without water on New Year's Eve. Leak is out by the road near the meter.
Wow, Lolly! Bluebonnets! I would love to see that picture! With snow, too! Bet it's a good one. Believe it or not, I think I'm going outside to trim some bushes out front. The Lantana is taking over the bird of paradise's spot, and choking it out. Need to reclaim its territory for it! Our gardener is on vacation this week, so there's room for clippings in the green trash can. Better make the most of it! (Can you tell I've been drinking coffee?!) Will be back to see what's happening in a little while. Shouldn't take me too long! Take care, those of you that are venturing forth in the snow & ice! BBIALW... :o]
LOLLY!---I should have your choices!--ho!---I have always felt NEW YEAR'S EVE was or is so sad---so I am always in bed before 12------SENDING GOOD WISHES & LOVE!!!
OK, according to the 12 year old boy who came to fix the heat, and did so in 7 minutes....we are good to go and it's warming up! Tune in tomorrow for As the Boiler Burns....
Speaking of which, I guess I better run to the store so I can get back fast to see the Y & R.....
Norma - I received a late Christmas card yesterday.. From my niece and her hubby who are both graduates from WVU. Their card had a photo of their 2 pre-school sons - I sure wish you could see them - dressed in their WVU hats and shirts... #7 and #9. Little future Mountaineeeeers I'm sure
So many coming in Red, Norma, Shirley, Lolly ... love the New Years song. Glad I got to sing it early that way I won't miss it when I am sleeping ty Have to look back to see who put it up in comments.
Yes Red do just that live each day to the fullest. Make memories with your partner that can be shared and carried on within ones heart. Which your pipes to get fixed easlily and fast. Any plans for New Years?
Lolly what is a plain explanation for what you are having? Might be a receipe we all want.?
Going to Dianes brothers house for New Years get together with his family. Will eat lots of Hors D'oeuvres and Appetizers and probably too much booze. lol
Red, sure hope the water problem is the water companies rersponsibilty and not yours!!
Lynne, what exactly did the 12 y.o. do?? Hope he taught you!!
Andy, seems really strange to hear about bush trimming in the wintertime!! Of course, here they trim fruit trees in the winter, but it's cold enough that the sap doesn't run!
Okay, Mits, I was confusing your plunge with Williamsport, where I have friends doing it, too! (Did you know: that Williamsport, MD was once proposed as the Nations' Capitol???)
Hedgie, the water problem is mine. I already had the water company out to look. Hopefully it will be fixed today. I have men coming this afternoon. I'm just glad someone spotted it and let me know. Thank God for neighbors.
HEDGIE---Where did you read that WILLIAMSPORT, MD was ever in consideration to be the nations capitol??---That's close to Cumberland! Didn't know that--
I went back for a little Panda snooze ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. So I feel a bit more fresh and alert now, AND the early morning fog has cleared away in So Cal, making it a very crisp, beautiful morning.
You can see a fish crow at the moment if you flip over to BWO cam.
Seriously, I found a good use for the Sprouts recently.
I had grabbed a bag of frozen sprouts accidentally while trying to buy "Petite Mixed Vegetables" ... don't ask me how. And they sat and sat in the freezer until one day I just cooked up the whole bag of them and get rid of them one way or the other....
I had some with dinner a few times, which weren't terrible exactly ... pretty good with either Mrs. Dash (herbs, spices, no salt of any kind) or with a chug of ketchup...try that on any boring (like steamed) vegetable, by the way.
Then one day, I decided to have some (Campbell's) Tomato Soup, which I had not had in at least 30 years ... but I didn't exactly want plain tomato soup ............
So, I cooked some of the mixed vegs and added them and the water they cooked in; added a bunch of brown rice I had cooked; added a bunch of Mrs. Dash; added a chunk of smoked sausage (cubed more or less); ANNNDD I added several of the B. Sprouts (chopped a little). More water, stirred a bit and simmered a while.........
That turned out to be one of best soups I've had in quite a while, believe it or not. And you can use whatever left over meat or vegetables you have; they'll probably taste great.
MITS & MOVIN'JIM!----These were fresh Brussels sprouts---just cooked them a few mins---delicious!---Yeah! MITS---I love those steam fresh veggies---Eat them often!!
well, back from the store....duh, needed dog supplies!!! We'll get our dog on Sunday...if we go to Terra Alta (weather not too bad...some snow predicted but they had a bad morning as did many of us) and Saturday if we don't go. I'm so excited!! I she loves us and want to stay forever!
so...I missed y & R and B & B and ATWT is not on due to football.
Hi, Gang, I'm b-a-c-k! The Lantana our front is now properly tamed, and no longer choking out the bird of paradise plant. Lynn, I figure it's safe to trim the lantana, because it's so cold it's kind of dormant and not putting out any new blossoms right now. It's actually kind of considered an annual here, according to the tags on the new little ones I bought in gallon cans last summer. It's not supposed to survive freezing weather, but we always get a few nights of below freezing temps, and it manages to still come back in the spring. Aha--a couple more weeks, and my rose bushes better prepare themselves! They're next!
Hey, Jim, The soup sounds GOOD! Gonna have to try it SOON! What Hubby does with fresh Brussels sprouts is fantastic: Halve them lengthwise, boil in water till almost done, drain well; then fry them in a few tablespoons of olive oil and a little butter. Add granulated garlic to taste, and cracked pepper. Let them get browned and kinda crunchy on the outside, then add parmesan cheese at the last minute, letting the cheese have just enough time to melt from the heat. OMG, I could eat my weight in the doggone things when they're done that way! YUUUUUUMMMMMMM!!!!! They're so good, we usually have them once a week!
speaking of splashing...made a big one at Walmart. The cashier and I were trying to stuff the new dog bed into the bag and we managed to knock my gallon of milk on the floor, where it exploded. :(
Jim, your soup is a real mixed-up concoction! Glad you enjoyed it. Andy, wrote down your B.S. recipe for my mom---she LOVES them!
I don't eat many veggies, but the steam fresh corn is delicious!!! Haven't bought any other kind since trying it (except for fresh ears, of course, during summer).
Oh, Lynne, I'm the one who's jealous! You've got a new dog! Actually, I would like to have 2 kitties, but a new pet is always SO much fun! I would really like to go rescue a brother and sister pair of kittens from the pound. That would make a nice WARM lapful! Maybe someday... Hubby's not interested right now, I don't think. Have hinted like mad, but hasn't worked. Oh, well. One of these days, maybe.
Lynn, I have to LOL :oD--I DO like steamed corn, but my absolute favorite is frozen shoepeg corn or frozen baby peas, nice and cold, right from the freezer! LOVE them that way! (Crazy me even taught my oldest GD to love them that way, too!)
Actually, Lynn, I think I could ALMOST be a vegetarian, I like veggies so much. Couldn't do without chicken or an occasional rib eye steak, though. Guess I'm really a carnivore at heart. Do you like a lot of different kinds of fruit?
Helen, I'll have to try your B.Sprouts recipe--sounds great! Well, better go do some damage control with the hair & makeup. Hubby & I are going to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch! Will be back later with a full report. Yikes! I look like the Wreck of the Hesperus! That lantana bush really fought back! Later, alligators.... ;o]
BWT Andy, our arrangement with the dog is that since she is so far away (southern VA...the local rescue is helping them to place her) and we can't actually meet her first, we will be fostering her in the hopes that she loves us and we love her (how could we not?) and we have 2 weeks to decide. I'm getting excited! Her picture is on my blog.
Lynne, I like the sound of your plan! Will have to practice a LOT, though--I'm a LOUSY fibber! Pray that the Lord will bring some kitties my way--maybe that will work.
Howdy Red Sure hope I haven't missed you. Great on getting the water fixed! Think I will go buy out the store's supply of Black-Eyed Peas. Thanks for the Song, and your thoughts on the New Year. You Pack a Punch ! xo ☺ ♥
Work wasn't so bad, lots of wrecks with no injury, and lots of ambulance calls. Got a co-worker to come and take over my spot, now I have to sleep again and go back in at 11 pm.
I love brussel sprouts, and the more butter the better !
Oh they can do without me at work, not to worry, but two people had to be off today for medical reasons....and it was not a good morning to work "short"
you probably did, Margy, they have all kinds of wildlife it seems there, and it stays lighter a little longer than the Finland cam...we should start seeing the eagles during the winter come and rest there.
I'm not cooking tonight, going to a friend's home, made brownies so we can stick a candle in one at Midnight for hubby's birthday....cooking him dinner tomorrow night
I would have to go in at 6 pm tonight for 12 hours, so I just subtracted the morning hours from the evening and beefed up the evening shift a little with others.
Must get to bed. Enjoyed all the news. Great to see Ceil here...she says a lot in just a few sentences.
Going to sneak a peek at Dunedin, Mits, thanks for the play by play.
Will miss some of you as you head out for your evenings, but will catch a few around 10 when I get back up.
Best Wishes, Safe Travels, and God Bless Us, Every One xo ☺ ♥
Here we go again with the food, huh? Andy, I like most fruits, but in small portions and not too often! Don't like black-eyed peas, but my mom eats enough for both of us! LOL, Mits, I eat the potatoes and corned beef and let others have my share of the cabbage! I have one cooked cabbage recipe that I like (using good ol' Cracker Barrell Coon cheese---which they don't call that anymore), and I like Colcannon; otherwise, only like it in slaw--and I'm mighty particular about it!
Lynne, what a mess that milk must have made! Aren't you glad you didn't have to clean it up?? And shame on ya', trying to turn Andy into a sneaky-puss!!?? ROFLMBO!
Margy, so glad you got home in time to get some sleep to make it through the night!! Argh!
Hi, went to PT. Watched a firefighter who's getting ready for some kind of test doing push-ups and working with 25-pound weights. Then he was walking around with a box of something, maybe weights?
I use 2-pound weights. We do want our firefighters stronger than I am, that is for sure.
Hedgie, I have a recipe for Cabbage and Polish Sausage soup. It is sooooooooooooo good. awe heck heres the recipe.
1 Small Onion, Chopped ( 1/3 cup) 1 Stalk of Celery, Sliced (1/2 cup) ¼ Cup of Butter ½ Cup of Flour 8 Cups of Chicken Broth 4 cups of Shredded Cabbage 8oz to 12 oz Fully cooked Polish Sausage, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced. 2 tsp Snipped Fresh Parsley ½ tsp White Pepper
In a 4 quart Dutch oven cook the onion and celery in butter till the vegies are tender, but not browned.
Stir in flour till the mixture is smooth. Add chicken broth and cabbage. Cook and stir till soup mixture is thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 3 minutes.
Stir in sausage, parsley, pepper and cook uncovered 10 minutes.
Dana, your angel escapade put me in mind of something Lucy Ricardo would have done! Must have been very, very funny.
Andy, I know how you feel. Have hinted about adding furry critters to our household but apparently that isn't going to happen.
Lynne, so happy for you and I know it will be a perfect match.
By-the-way, speaking of critters, when Slamdunk the squirrel toured the Vajda abode, it was about 18 years ago -- before we got our last two cats. Squirrel was safe and only came in because I left the door open for him to help himself to the peanuts -- was keeping me from finishing dinner.
Brussels Sprouts -- really have to be disguised for me. Might try Andy's husband's method.
Shirley, hope PT was helpful.
Red, so glad you got your leak fixed and hope the glue holds!
Tonight is surf and turf. Left over filet sliced thin and sauteed with shrimp in garlic butter -- then with smashed potatoes and horseradish sauce, salad. Never tried this before so it might end up being a call for pizza!
Much too much to catch up on but hope everyone had a wonderful day. Had some sleet/ice here but now just looks like a snow sky.
Happy New Year Everyone!!! I've been away for a while playing with grandson and Christmas present. Max was here for 2 days and we had a great time with him. I love to hear him say "Hi Nana" or "pop pop"
My Christmas present from Jim is a laptop computer - wireless. I'm new at this wireless stuff and sure do miss my mouse on the laptop. Son in law set up the wireless router and put me on "Skype" to keep track of my grandsons. JJ, Max's brother is away at college or Army training most of the time so I see him even less. I was playing around with the laptop last night and heard a beep and "Hi Nana" from Jared (JJ) but it took me a while to determine what to do next. I did see and talk with him and couldn't figure out how to end the call so he did it.
Now I must find a way to transfer all my favorite sites to the new laptop; especially this one to stay in touch and up to date.
Oh, before I go .... Lolly, I know the college bowl games are the next few days, PLEASE tell me what is TCU! I've been trying to figure out that for a while. I think the T is for Texas and maybe the U is for University, but what is C?
Red, polish sausage would make almost anything taste good! Thanks. Copied recipe! Will use it next time I have cabbage leftover from something else--I would like it a bit crunchy for sure.
Judie, your dinner sounds delicious---you won't need pizza, I'm sure!
Diann, congrats on your new puter. You can get a wireless mouse for next to nothing for it. I can't use the touch pad---makes my fingers cramp up too bad! And Skype---wow! Very cool! There's obviously quite an age difference between max and his big bro, huh??
All that talk about Brussels sprouts and I had to go and get some. Got the last pound of fresh ones. We will be having salad, steamed shrimp and brussel sprouts. Going to Mass first
Hi Red. Glad to see you on. Jim your receipe sounded good. These dadsters can cook. I hate to cook. Don't tell my Jim. Brussels Sprouts I will throw in a pot of water boil and put butter on them. Do have some garlic salt What the heck let's do gourmet and put that on
Jo we can watch from our front steps or walk down a block or two and see the barges. This year there is a new firework company. Don't know why. We had the best
Have been out to the grocery store. That was crazy, it is a mad house out there!
Tomorrow we are going to Dallas to Michael's. Hope to see Michael. He has a big case going to trial on the 11th. He is working every day and long hours. Yes, he is working tomorrow.
Dana, tonight's meal is a little complicated. Will post the recipe if anyone once it. The risotto will take a while to prepare, the Saltimbocca not so long.
Hi, Gang, Back from lunch at the Cheesecake Factory! Hubby had their Orange Chicken w/ rice, and I had a half a Chicken salad sandwich, bowl of Chicken tortilla soup, and small salad with bleu cheese dressing. We split a piece of low carb N.Y. cheesecake, made with Splenda. Talk about yummy! Mmm, MMMM! Now I need to do a 20-mile hike to work it all off! Think I'll panda nap instead, though. Wow, they give you so much food, we both brought half our lunch home, so now we have a dinner for tomorrow night!
Well, looks like Hubby & I will be spending the night tonight at Sis-and Bro-in-law's. Will talk to you some time tomorrow when we get home. HAPPY, HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE! Will set the eye scanner so it will work now, since I probably won't be able to come back later tonight. The night light's already on, and the porch light is automatic. Prayers for all being said. Love you guys! :o]
Trip canceled, Terra Alta has a winter storm warning in effect. We just aren't going to take the chance.
In case I miss you later, or if some of you are heading out later and I miss you....please have a safe night and HAPPY NEW YEAR Eaglet Momsters and Dadsters!!!

I'll have to wait forgot they are 3 hrs behind us at SD.
finally figured out the 2 o's at Dunedin, dad there now, has the clear breast.
I agree Norma - we really could use a new thread..... However this one is still working pretty well - it is just hard to find everyone.
Shoot forgot we can't zoom in, I was wanting to know what was in the talcon.
Missed our visit....drat...on phone.
Never read that Dr. Seuss one before---cute. Good warning for this non-dexterous klutz!
'DA BOSS' is still there!---She is so BEAUTIFUL!!
I think one poofed...hard to tell
Lynn, they are still here.
nope still there
poof for Belle
just one now
Wish they would zoom in closer on SD---looks like CLoud is climbing on Bai's head!!

No more weekly exams for baby Yun Zi. Guess he's just too rambunctious to make it time well-spent since they can't really examine him they way they would like to! Going on exhibit SOON!
Now they have nicknamed him Yunior! Cute, huh?
They said they were trying to change Diego's sleep habits. He is up and about too early for the visitors to see him and then is napping when the zoo opens.
Mits, please go show them how to operate a cam!!!!
Belle, or is it Lib?, looks like a statue!
Tee hee Lynn-Hedgie you call yourself a klutz. Bet you never did this one before: Got a special Christmas/Holiday spray made with pine, pine cones, berry, and white flower, and red flowers.

That is good old reliable Liberty
I don't know if that is new fluff in the nest - don't know where Belle would have gotten it. Under a fir tree I suppose........
I've seen Diego and Mom up at 2-3 in the morning, rolling and rasslin and biting; and then he would be sleeping the whole morning away in the den.
Maybe things are getting better now and he will go on exhibit soon. At least he's up and playful in the early daylight, so it's looking better.

Jim
Dana - good thinking! lol
SLUTZ WAS SUPPOSE TO BE KLUTZ
Mema Jo I could just feel Ed up there looking at me and laughing. It was classic.

It's only 45 here now (low was 44), but it's supposed to get to 73 today! That's crazy California for you.
Good morning! Well, nice to see an eagle in a snowy nest! Been reading the blog and enjoying a few laughs.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

Should auld acquaintance be forgot

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne
We twa hae run aboot the braes
And pou'd the gowans fine;
we've wander'd mony a weary foot
Sin' auld lang syne
We two hae paidled i' the burn,
Frae mornin' sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin' auld lang syne
And here's a hand, my trusty friend,
And gie's a hand o' thine;
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

My resolutions: To sing in the shower, dance in the rain, and seek serenity when it most evades me, To be grateful everyday for love, life and friendship. To see adversity as a speed bump and not a wall or a dark hole. To find inspiration in people, nature and art. And most of all, to live every day as if it might be my last chance to get it right.
No Lynn, our Plunge Day is January 30th
MORNIN' or GOOD AFTERNOON RED!---Sure miss your sense of humor!--Hope you are feeling great & that you have SUNNY SKIES in 2010!!
LIFE IS GOOD!---Stay COOL!
Dana, we know you meant Klutz...but that was kinda funny!
Another good story! You ought write your memoirs!
Wow the wind is howling at Delta...those pine branches don't even look strong enough to support that nest. It is worrisome.
What a day to spring a leak in my water system. Repair man is on the way. Hope he can fix it. Not nice to be without water on New Year's Eve. Leak is out by the road near the meter.
I'll drink to that, Bill! Well said!
Sharon, be safe!
Hope you get it fixed soon, Red.
Have to head out to PT soon. Need to get ready.
Wow, Lolly! Bluebonnets! I would love to see that picture! With snow, too! Bet it's a good one.

Thanks Shirley for that link.
I just was able to connect to Prague - that is where my Germany gang could be to celebrate.......
I watch earthcam.com cams all the time
both o's at Dunedin, must be time for a switch
Hi ya', Red! Thanks for the Bobby Burns rendition!! Happy New Years to you, too, and Mrs. Red!
yep, mom just took off
Going to Dianes brothers house for New Years get together with his family.
I did not know that, Lynn...they have a plunge at the beach tomorrow for Atlantic General Hospital
Hedgie, the water problem is mine. I already had the water company out to look. Hopefully it will be fixed today. I have men coming this afternoon. I'm just glad someone spotted it and let me know. Thank God for neighbors.
Make that Thank God for Good neighbors. lol
WHOA!--LYNN2--'AS THE BOILER BURNS!!!----(very clever)! ho!
Anyone know how long to cook Brussels Sprouts--without looking it up?
Cut a small X into the base of each sprout to allow the core to cook thoroughly.
Step 6Boil brussels sprouts for 7 to 10 minutes.
Step 7
Steam brussels sprouts for about 5 minutes.
Step 8Microwave brussels sprouts, with a little water, for 5 to 8 minutes.

Taking a break - WOW 700 comments..
Hope we get a New Year's Eve Thread...
Step 9...
Buy frozen B. Sprouts and bring to boil in salted water for a short time.................
Hahaha.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
Just checked S-DIEGO site!---All I can see are purple rocks???
easiest way is the steam and fresh bags, of all kinds of veges they have out now, just stick in the microwave, had baby peas last night...delish
HEY JO!---You better get your BLUE & GOLD 'POM POMS' ready!---WVU plays FLORIDA in the GATOR BOWL tomorrow at 1:00-----GO MOUNTAINEERS!!

There's a pretty good sized Bull Elephant playing submarine elephant and disappearing island at Pete's Pond.
And they've had a bunch of swim parties with the youngsters and teens recently. Take a look at the video clips if you care to.

well, back from the store....duh, needed dog supplies!!!
My, lots of cooking go on while I was gone!
Hi, Gang,
I'm b-a-c-k! They're next!
heat is still on, guess the kid knew what he was doing...time will tell!
OHHHH, Andy, now I'm jealous. I can't even see the grass and you having a gardening thing going on!
Now there's a cow elephant with a brand new baby nursing at the Pond.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
yes, Norma, I know...all the recipes I gave were for fresh Brussels sprouts
I can't seem to stay connected to Pete's Pond...hear sound, no picture now.
I hear a lot of splish splasin' going on!
Hey, Jim,
The soup sounds GOOD!
LOL, Norma, Mits and Jim...you may all have my share of brussel sprouts----"No Like" as I used to say as a toddler (according to my grandma!).
Google Williamsport, MD history and you will find the info I mentioned, Norma!
Ancient history, of course!
For some reason, don't think we need to worry about Jo rooting for WVU!
Lynne, hope you can make your trip AND get Daisy this weekend!!! And get the job on Monday!! 3 for 3 plus keep the furnace running!
Red, hope the expense isn't too bad---or that homeowners' insurance covers it!
speaking of splashing...made a big one at Walmart. The cashier and I were trying to stuff the new dog bed into the bag and we managed to knock my gallon of milk on the floor, where it exploded. :(
wow, Lynn, Heat DOG TRIP JOB....that's a lot to hope for in one long weekend!
Oh, Lynne,
I'm the one who's jealous!
Plumber has my leak fixed. Waiting on the glue to dry before turning water back on. I'm just happy to get someone here today.
I only make Brussel sprouts because hubby likes them, got a recipe to try that adds pancetta to them, I might like that one....
Lynn,
I have to LOL :oD--I DO like steamed corn, but my absolute favorite is frozen shoepeg corn or frozen baby peas, nice and cold, right from the freezer!
Hey, Red, and Lynne,
Isn't it a good feeling to get everything working properly?! Hope the heat, and the water, keep cooperating!
Blackeyed peas is the food for New Years day. The more blackeyed peas you eat the better your luck will be for the entire year.
ok Andy, here's the plan...
Go to shelter, adopt the little curtain climbers. USE CASH...you don't want a paper trail.
Put kittens in ratty old (but secure) basket.
Insert pathetic note about how they need a new home.
Place basket at front door when hubby not looking.
Ring doorbell, run in through another door. Tell hubby to please answer door.
Give a look of innocent surprise when he tells you what was on the door step. (you may need to practice to make it look good)
Start to cry about how anyone could do this to the poor babies.
Enjoy your new kittens!
wow Red, so glad they got your water fixed so quickly!
Lynne,
I like the sound of your plan! Will have to practice a LOT, though--I'm a LOUSY fibber! Pray that the Lord will bring some kitties my way--maybe that will work.
Lynne, I saw your new pup's picture--she's GOT to be a real sweetheart! Just LOOK at that face! I sure couldn't resist her!
I bet by the time 2 weeks have passed, they couldn't pry her away from you with a crowbar and a team of wild horses!
Howdy Red
Sure hope I haven't missed you.
Great on getting the water fixed!
Think I will go buy out the store's supply of Black-Eyed Peas.
Thanks for the Song, and your thoughts on the New Year.
You Pack a Punch !
xo ☺ ♥
Good Afternoon? Is it? Everyone.
Well, better go now--Hubby's getting pretty hungry. He usually eats an EARLY lunch, since he goes to work at 4am! BBL!
Work wasn't so bad, lots of wrecks with no injury, and lots of ambulance calls. Got a co-worker to come and take over my spot, now I have to sleep again and go back in at 11 pm.
I love brussel sprouts, and the more butter the better !
Thanks for the new link, Mits, I also had trouble with real player right for now, but opened up the other link, and have that one saved.
I do believe I might have seen some Magpies at that site ☺
I'll be thinking of you all at midnight.
yeah, butter does help, Margy:), and yet I love cabbage....especially with corned beef, but eat mostly the cabbage when I fix it
So you saw the Royal Pair did you?
Bravo!
Ohe a home-cooked meal on New Year's Eve, sounds great Mits.
Andy, I'll pray that the good Lord brings you some kittens when the time is right! Have fun at lunch!
I'm not cooking tonight, going to a friend's home, made brownies so we can stick a candle in one at Midnight for hubby's birthday....cooking him dinner tomorrow night
Well the plumbing is fixed. Good to see everyone here today.
Y'all Have a Happy New Year, ye hear.
Best Wishes, Safe Travels, and
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ☺ ♥
Happy New Year Margy!
I've gotta run and get some things done before Steve gets home....see ya later!
Going to take a nap. BBL.
just saw some quick mating at Dunedin
Hedgie, I have a recipe for Cabbage and Polish Sausage soup. It is sooooooooooooo good. awe heck heres the recipe.
1 Small Onion, Chopped ( 1/3 cup)
1 Stalk of Celery, Sliced (1/2 cup)
¼ Cup of Butter
½ Cup of Flour
8 Cups of Chicken Broth
4 cups of Shredded Cabbage
8oz to 12 oz Fully cooked Polish Sausage, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced.
2 tsp Snipped Fresh Parsley
½ tsp White Pepper
In a 4 quart Dutch oven cook the onion and celery in butter till the vegies are tender, but not browned.
Stir in flour till the mixture is smooth. Add chicken broth and cabbage. Cook and stir till soup mixture is thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 3 minutes.
Stir in sausage, parsley, pepper and cook uncovered 10 minutes.
Cook longer if you don’t like crunchy cabbage.
They have some good shots of Diego now, but it seems to be foggy there, and it's hard to see him.

Hi everyone,
Dana, your angel escapade put me in mind of something Lucy Ricardo would have done!
Later
Brussel sprouts...yuck!
Well, back to learning .... later
Yay, Lynne! We will need pics of the new pup! Have fun at Terra Alta, too!
Do have some garlic salt What the heck let's do gourmet and put that on
Eagle BWE

Don't know if I will see any fireworks or not.

you?
I saw a few fireworks from the Greece cam.
BTW our cam looks horrible.
Was Raining a bit here in the valley.

Hello. Feeling rested. Interested in all the comments about brussels sprouts. Not my favorite food, either.
Our nest night light is on but I didn't see who did it!
BBL
Jo we can watch from our front steps or walk down a block or two and see the barges. This year there is a new firework company. Don't know why. We had the best
Diann....TCU Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
TCU
I graduated from there years ago! Actually 1966!
TCU's game is Monday nite. Go Frogs!
The risotto will take a while to prepare, the Saltimbocca not so long.
poor osprey looks really tired down at Dunedin, can't keep her eyes open
Hi, Gang,
Back from lunch at the Cheesecake Factory!
I am in Bluefield, had supper and am working a little bit!
Red, I copied your soup recipe, and will try it soon--sounds really good!
Whoa, sorry to hear that Margy must go back to work again tonight!
Bummer!
Paula, my IE has been really touchy lately, too. What's up with that?! Grrrrrr!
Thanks for touching base with us Sharon
Be thinking of you at Midnight...
Diann, get a lap board and you can use a mouse with your laptop.
You all are making me hungry going to fix something up and try for a picture on tv.
Find something good to eat, Dana.
Hubby fixed us meatball subs - lol
I just finished steamed shrimp and salt'n'vinegar chips! I'm still hungry....hmmmm.
Glad you all safely settled in, Shar.
Poor Diego is all tuckered out.....
