Speaking of shrimp...our small town grocery store had the aroma of steamed shrimp as soon as you walked in the door....I was kidding the guys...they said they've been steaming it all day!
Going to do some snack type foods for dinner tonight and see if I can interest Michael in a game of some sort.
Doggies are fed and are trapesing about in the snow...
Gee, it's still TU! Happy, Happy! Lolly, pass me a sip of wine! LOL Ending the year with a couple posts of pictures~~~part of largest group of deer I've seen at Chelsea office & a little goose music thrown in, plus Ms. Sapsucker. Raining here--we only had a little sleet in AM, then melted.Didn't get to go see Nat'l Harbor~~think they have decorations. Maybe tomorrow. Had a snack earlier, so now gonna eat ddinner & watch the celebrations on TV.....
Yes!!!! He is a treasure. Read him your comment....he smiled. He is now sitting here watching the STARS play hockey and once again...shelling pecans. Bless him!
Boy I was just thinking about all the New Years Eves I spent with my grandparents, watching Guy Lomardo, standing outside at midnight banging pots and pans...I miss that, and I miss my grandparents so much.
Lolly, so many people get accidently hurt by falling ammo!! Steve wants to go out and shoot off his M1 Garand, but the little tots next door might freak out!
Yes, I know. Would not be allowed now days. That was years ago and no one ever complained about it. We lived in a small town...not much population...thank goodness!!!
Don't worry, I'll be inside at midnight. And I don't think anyone is worried about it being legal...hopefully they aren't dumb anough to just be firing into the air...
Well - I have had phone calls from the kids -but I need 2 more - This is a precautionary measure that just in case the Midnight hour comes and our heads are on the pillows... the phone doesn't ring.
I'm in for a 1000!!! Oldest SIL still does the gun shooting thing. Glad I don't live close. But I will hear other shots around here. When I was growing up, the folks always did a Deli night-----multiple deli meats, kraut, pickles, cheeses, rye and pumpernickel--on NY eve. Close friends and family, playing cards, games, "making" music.........a lot of fun then, and I would still enjoy it now!
Lynn, Jack says to tell you that he will be finished shelling pecans before the end of hockey season. Tonight he will finish the 7th bag of shelled pecans. He thinks he is headed to 30. Our best year so far was two years ago and that was 42 gallon bags of shelled pecans.
Sorry. Saw the post and did not read the blog yet. Lynne aren't you in Maryland. It is against the law to shoot off a gun anywhere. i think I remember that we went over 1000 before.
Ceil, we live in the boonies on private rural property. We have an area down over a cliff where we can shoot at the side of a hill where we set up targets. I didn't know it was not legal. When I lived in Carroll Co. years ago, we heard a horrible lot of gunfire late one night and called the State Police (no local police in CC) and they said there was not law against it. WELL DUH, you think they'd at least want to check it out! Maybe it's changed since then.
Well Lolly - we were on #900 - we needed 100 and so if you all wouldn't have published while I was singing my 99 would have been correct. I sing a slow song.........
We are having pizza tomorrow, homemade pizza. We have no traditions for New Years day. We are all going to be at Michael's and I am taking over 3 homemade pizza.
A PA Dutch tradition is pork & sauerkraut for New Year. That's what I'm making tomorrow for dinner with some rolls (Pillsbury) and cranberry sauce (Ocean Spray).
Sitting here with tears running down my face! Went to the new thread to delete and read Megan's comment. Laughed so hard I have tears streaming down my face!
Hmmm ... if pork (almost typed port) and sauerkraut at the New Year is supposed to bring good luck I better change the menu. This past year was a bummer. Maybe if I use port it won't matter.
Jo they are calling some of the jurors back in Shirley wants a new trial and some of the jurors were on facebook talking about the trial before the verdict. She will get a new trial for sure
Have you heard-----Tavern on the Green is shutting down after tonight. $8 million in the red. No wonder--they charged $60 for a salad lunch 5 yrs. ago!! Duh!

Hi Megan! Happy New Year
Howdy Jo:)
Happy New Year(almost) to you!
Evening, all~
Guess we aren't getting a New Year's Eve thread
Howdy, Jo and Megan and Lolly. Lolly have you opened that bottle of wine already :)
Doesn't look like it.... At least at
806 it hasn't acted up - like double comments and kicking users off.
Hey Paula:) Yeah, pass the bottle, Lolly:)
Very Happy New Year wishes to all of you departing for the evening!!!
Yep, Megan...if it's Tuesday, it must be........?????
Good evening, folks.
Do you have much snow on the ground, Paula?
Time for Jeopardy. BBL.
We got about 3 inches or so, enough for the dogs to have fun in. Some has melted with the rain now. It's holding at 32° here right now.
Well, I think if we're over 800 hundred now, I think we should just ignore any new thread, if posted, and go for 1000!!!
Sounds like a plan........
Moose cam stopped with 3 moose in view

Oh, and I agree......keep this thread going........no matter what!!
Yes, the bottle of Mt. Veeder cab is open! Dinner was delicious and Jack is doing the clean up. Second glass of wine coming soon!
I will pass the bottle. Hold out your glass!
A husband who does the clean-up. What a treasure.
I can even forgive him for all of the insults during the football game Sunday.
Very nice sentiment Paula!
I agree, lets stay til 1000!!! WOO HOO lets see a show of hands!!
Heat is still working!!
Gee, it's still TU!
Happy, Happy! Lolly, pass me a sip of wine! LOL

I second the 1000 comment motion!!!! Is poor Margy still at work?? She would be a great helper!!!
Loweeeeeeeeda!!!! Jack says "Hurry on over if you want some wine!"
I'm in! 1000 here we come!
And my goal is to do the 1000 split! 800 was a blast...can you imagaine the thrill of 1000.
Think I have a problem. ROFLMBO
we can do it! 1000 here we come! maybe before midnight!
Lolly, save a glass of wine to THROW to Judie!
Throw?????????????? Do not want to waste the good stuff with an accidental spill!
Have we ever considered seeing how many posts we can do really fast?
NO NO there is a NEW THREAD...are we staying or going??
I am for staying!
Me too!!!!
Useewildlife is pouring rain.
But this thread is so last year.....are you sure???
Boy I was just thinking about all the New Years Eves I spent with my grandparents, watching Guy Lomardo, standing outside at midnight banging pots and pans...I miss that, and I miss my grandparents so much.
Oh, Megan. I really did laugh out loud! But, how can it be so last year....it is not the new year yet!
If it is decided to stay here until 1000 comments are made.....
Someone best go to newest thread and advise anyone opening it to
Do Not Use Until 1000 is hit on the old thread...
Well, Lynne, just go outside and bang those pots and pans. I remember my Daddy shooting his gun straight up in the air. That is such a no no!!!
I want to stay to 1000! Bet we can do it by midnight!
In the meantime.........
Ft St Vrain's eagle couple
Jo,I have it up and will check it now and then. If anyone goes there we will just go and inform them. OK?
Oh, we are such a rebellious group. lol
Lolly, so many people get accidently hurt by falling ammo!! Steve wants to go out and shoot off his M1 Garand, but the little tots next door might freak out!
Sounds like a plan.........
I'm going to be watching the EarthCam
for NYC mostly while I sit here.
Has 1000 ever been done? I think it's kind of a neat way to say goodbye to the 09 blog!
I have been lurking. I'm game.
Yes, I know. Would not be allowed now days. That was years ago and no one ever complained about it. We lived in a small town...not much population...thank goodness!!!
Not allowed to shoot guns off at midnight? somebody better tell my neighborhood.
Jo, I was looking there at Times Square earlier this afternoon....boy I hope they have a lot of porta potties!
It is interesting to watch, but I have to say I would not want to be in that crowd.
I guess, Megan, it depends on local law. We can shoot here...but it is dangerous to shoot up in the air. VERY dangerous.
Would be okay to be in a building looking down. A nice hotel room.
Jack just passed to me a handful of freshly shelled pecans. Must be love!
Don't know of anyone around here firing guns into the air, but I really don't know. They make a lot of noise doing something out there.
ne meither Shirey! Give me a blankie and the hot chocolate..more my speed!
Lynne - I had the same thoughts when it was only 3 or 4 and the crowds had already started to gather.
Standing around in a crowd, cold, no potty.....not for me, thank you!
Sitting in front of a fire in a comfortable chair, talking to friends, hubby passing pecans....now that is the life!
Uh, tell Jack to pass the pecans this way...I can't reach them.
Keep checking the new thread....no one over there. lol
Susan has gone to NY for New Year's, but she was visiting people who live there, and they would not have considered going to Times Square.
Glad to know your heat is staying on, Lynne.
Megan - are most of the greens cleaned up in the yard now... or yeah-
I mean before the snow fall.
Still a biog pile of cedar out there, the mockingbird has claimed it.
Megan... passing the pecans!
Ah, thank you so much!
My oldest daughter when dating her hubby - they went to see The Big Ball in NYC just on a whim. That is called young love!
But pay back is when her youngest daughter and soon to be hubby did the same thing.
You would have to pay me a million dollars to go there and stand in that crowd.....
I hope you notice that I am trying to
rack up the comments!
COME BACK HERE CEIL
oh no, Ceil is in the new thread....we can't leave her there all alone....
Ceil.....we are staying here!
I checked.....she has not gone there yet.
Jack, throw Megan some pecans!!
You're right Megan, I guess a lot of people are not worried about whether it's legal, especially if they are drinking.
Yepper! She in there! She is #1
Oh yes, she went there...lol....
Whoops! She posted and I called her back!
Megan....you made me holler and laugh. Read your post on the new thread. Poor Ceil!
And then Shirley hollered at her
and Megan hollered at her and
I said I think we blew it!
And then Megan hollered at me !
Hey we're getting there!
Back for a minute or two...been snacking and talking w/ the college kid!
Almost time to put the new
calendars up!
No, we can still go for it! Just stay with us Jo! lol
I am concerned for Ceil though. Where is she?
Ceil.......we are over here!!!!!
Lolly, does Jack EVER finish shelling pecans?????
wow, Megan is a BLOGGER COP! OK is everyone out?
Now Jo, you know I would never yell at you.
Ceil? Where are you?
Lolly, do you freeze the pecans?
MEGAN your comments crack me up over there on the new thread
that we are NOT going to use until we hit 1000 split on here.
WOWSIE Only 100 more to go
WE CAN DO IT
where is Ceil???
Lolly, tell Jack I found a shell in my pecans...hahaha....
Lynn, Jack says to tell you that he will be finished shelling pecans before the end of hockey season. Tonight he will finish the 7th bag of shelled pecans. He thinks he is headed to 30. Our best year so far was two years ago and that was 42 gallon bags of shelled pecans.

Uh, let me help! I'm NOT going to the new thread, yet. I'm sticking with this and that's the truth.
Happy almost new year everyone. I'll be back to add another comment or two to help reach 1000 before 2010.
Back to 48 hours.
Jack says he always gives a little extra to Redskin fans.
You take one down, pass it around...oh wrong song...
Margy will love the goose serenade, too, Lowreeda!
OH NO, ya'll are too funny!
Hi, Judie. What a way to spend New Year's Eve!
Oh, by-the-way, thanks Steve for the New Year's eve new thread. No offense. We're just having some fun. And this counts as another post.
Lolly, please tell Jack I am not a Redskins fan, not a nice rumor to start...

Hey Jo, after you publish one then it is 98 publishes to go!!!!!
Sorry. Saw the post and did not read the blog yet.
Lynne aren't you in Maryland. It is against the law to shoot off a gun anywhere.
i think I remember that we went over 1000 before.
You too, Lynne, after you publish one you have to subtact!!!
I'm lost, I'm not very good at math...
Someone has one too many glasses of wine...it's down to (or it was) down to 85 posts!
Hi Judie
Come back later, Please.
Oh, by-the-way, am having traditional southern good-luck dinner tomorrow.
Oh,Ceil!!!! We lost you! So glad you are here! Happy New Year!
Good luck dinner is pork, black-eyed peas.
We will make it long before midnight.
Pork, black-eyed peas with sauerkraut and smashed potatoes.
I have a pork roast in the freezer, but don't have any black-eyed peas. May have to make a run to the store.
We usually have pork on New Years day, but our luck has been bad this year, so I'm switching to turkey...
No Brussel's Sprouts.
Megan....I do apologize! Jack said to tell you that he is proud there is one good person on the blog.
Tomorrow.
Okay, doing my best to help reach 1,000. Back later.
Well Lolly - we were on #900 - we needed 100 and so if you all wouldn't have published while I was singing my 99 would have been correct. I sing a slow song.........
Well, just don't mention to him that I'm not a Cowboys fan either.
Ceil? Ceil?
We are having pizza tomorrow, homemade pizza. We have no traditions for New Years day. We are all going to be at Michael's and I am taking over 3 homemade pizza.
Isn't sauerkraut to be eaten on New Year's Day for wealth.......
Hey...in my defense, I did 97 because Judie was 98 in between me and Jo!
No, that's for indigestion...
Haven't heard that one, Jo.
I am sitting here LMAO...I have to go pay for the tags before the car turns into a pumpkin at MIdnight...back in a minute!
Jack says..."There are good people who are not Cowboy fans, but there are no good people that are Redskin fans."
Anyone who posted on new thread should trash their comments!!!
Lolly, this redskin fan doesn't like pecans....tell Jack "sorry, thanks but no thanks"!
CEIL????? Where are you?
I'm back and trying to stay until 1000 or my face hits the keyboard
Well, it's time to be back later.
Meagan, it's the black-eyed peas that bring the luck. You can have turkey but PLEASE have just a taste of the peas.
I'm here too. Watching the countdown to 1000
Those new thread comments are TOO
FUNNY to trash! lol
I was about to say that it's a friendly rivalry, but now he has insulted us again.
Black-eyed peas: simmer in water with a bit of diced onion, smoked ham hock, a tiny bit of salt and pepper, and a dash of tobasco.
Ceil you won't miss the harbor fireworks by the New Company would you?
We need to leave something over there to advise anyone else who comes on. I think they would be really confused by a bunch of trashed comments.
Black-eyed peas are not my favorite but doctored up I can eat a spoonful or two for good luck. Give it a try, Meagan.
Can't I just carry a lucky rabbit's foot? I don't think I like black eyed peas...
OK, I'm back...
uh oh, blogger cop got me twice now...
Ceil don't take a header into your keyboard!
Oh, thank goodness, Ceil did not get lost out there in the ethernet. That would have been really bad.
A PA Dutch tradition is pork & sauerkraut for New Year. That's what I'm making tomorrow for dinner with some rolls (Pillsbury) and cranberry sauce (Ocean Spray).
Who's keeping score?
I had to run to the store to get my black eyed peas for my hopping john tomorrow...they are yummy...gonna throw some keilbasa in there too.
JO I want miss the fireworks. If I fall asleep they will wake me up
Don't trash those comments! They're great...they know we're over here!
We will be on the new thread with some time to spare before the New Year kicks in.... only 40+ to go
Sitting here with tears running down my face! Went to the new thread to delete and read Megan's comment. Laughed so hard I have tears streaming down my face!
Lolly, can you ask Jack to pass the pecans this way please?
Oh, I found a recipe for pecan bars, think I'll have to try it soon.
I think we are slowing up
Has the blog ever gone to 1,000 before?
I guess they would, Ceil! I am really anxious to see this year's as to why they changed companies... Sheila probably was saving the city some money!
Yes - the blog has gone over 1000 before. I should have written down the
dates but I didn't.
anyone ever watch any of the "Brit Coms" on public television?
Blogger cop is sure alive and well.
shirley i am sure we have gone over 1000 before Will check later
Ah the Brit coms, yep, seen them all.
Shirley.....do not be insulted by Jack. lol He just like to stir things up!
Okay, Meagan, if you have to use a rabbit's foot go for it -- but the black-eyed peas are more humane.
Lolly, tell Jack.......well never mind. I AM a good person, no matter what he says.
Well, we are getting close now.
Diann, we're also having cranberry sauce, homemade from leftover on Christmas.
Yes, we have watched the Brit coms as well.
25 more to go!!
Lolly New Thread
Megan really scared me off of there.
Thanks for not deleting your comment.....
Jo, sauerkraut IS supposed to bring wealth! Has never worked for our family!
Hmmm ... if pork (almost typed port) and sauerkraut at the New Year is supposed to bring good luck I better change the menu. This past year was a bummer. Maybe if I use port it won't matter.
Well, I was gonna buy a rabbits foot...not get my own, although there is this one rabbit who was a bit of a problem in the garden last year...
Interesting hawk story
Hawk
Okay - I am doing my patriotic duty - here I am...
everyone knows I can run up the blog posts in no time flat....
I don't have Magpie as a moniker for Nuthin' !
xoxo Good Evening Eagle ♀''s and ♂'s ☺
All of my leftovers are gone from Christmas. I love it when there are
leftovers in my frig!
I think it was late August or September of 2006 that we went over 1000.
Go ahead and tell him what you think ,Lynn! lol I KNOW you are a good person!
Jo they are calling some of the jurors back in Shirley wants a new trial and some of the jurors were on facebook talking about the trial before the verdict. She will get a new trial for sure
Have you heard-----Tavern on the Green is shutting down after tonight. $8 million in the red. No wonder--they charged $60 for a salad lunch 5 yrs. ago!! Duh!
But just for the record:
Thanks Steve for the new thread, we are just making history here ☺ Happy New Year to you and Yours !
I love As Time Goes By. I also watch one called Ballykissangel about a small Irish town and it's citizens.
MARGY!!!
And so am I, Lynn. We are a good bunch.
And I do think that Jack, regardless of his comments, is basically good, too. He brings Lolly drinks, cleans up after dinner, and shells pecans.
I can live with that!
Listen Up! These #%$(@# STINK BUGS
are still alive and well and in
MY HOUSE
I take great revenge when I can throw them out into the snow!
Paula
Beautiful sentiment you posted earlier from your friend.
Thank You !!
Lolly, Lynn is a good person. Tell Jack to send the pecans to me by way of Shirley's recliner -- if he can get George to move over.
Wahoo!!!!! Our Magpie is in the house! Hail hail the gangs all here! (Where is our Wanda?)
Almost the bewitching number!
To all the Southern Delegation and all others:
Thinking of you with happy thoughts!
BINGO !!!!
OK almost there....we staying for more or heading over to the new one?
