Failed to refresh, could not understand why you were seeing an eagle and I wasn't. Duh!! Then got lost in the split.

Have had a beautiful day. The sun came out and it got oup to 60 today! It was wonderful!! We went up to Fort Worth and I think everyone was out on the road. Guess that is because yesterday was such a yucky day!

Lolly said...

Andy.....Aubrey is north of Denton, so yes they have had more snow. Aubrey is problably 90 minutes north of us.

Have been working on more slides...lots of memories there...plus some before I was old enough to remember.
Daughter is coming to use my puter---her phone line is out and just can't do what she needs to do using iphone. She's bringing subs for dinner! (All leftovers are gone here...:( and :) !!!!

Hi, Gang,
I'm back. Pretty soon Hubby and I are going to have to go take care of the bulldogs. Sis-in-law and Bro-in-law are headed to Texas to spend New Year's with our nephew, and our daughter. Lolly, our Jen is pretty close to you, considering how big the state of Texas is! Small world, isn't it?!
Lynn, the picture of Tai Shan is absolutely adorable!
Hey, Red! Hope you had a nice Christmas--good to see you here again. Hope your New Year is Happy, healthy, and prosperous!
Well, better run. Hubby wants to tell me about his work day today. Will be back later, after taking care of the bulldogs, and dinner.

Mits said...

hooray for heat!!!!

Mits said...

both Eagles at SIDNEY nest

Mits said...

one just flew off

Mits said...

poof the other one, but they just flew to nearby branches...windy there.

Mits said...

dark at Hornby, but you could hear the sea lions...evidently they saw the eagles mating today, Doug said that is the earliest he has seen..

Well, dang! I may have to drive to Shepherdstown, afterall. Went out to find sheetz and there were no sheets in the correct size/color. Will take Lynn's advice and try to get to Tarjay in a day or two. Have to wait because Wanda says there will be sheetz and more sheetz and I might get mixed up with Glo's Sheetz Zoo. And, Grannyblt, thank you --now I don't feel quite so stuuupid. Oh my! Gun fire at the ole sheetz!

Dana, I remember as a child being told a yellow rose is for remembrance as is the name Rosemary.

Norma, I know deer are destructive but love when they visit our yard.

Jo, hope you had a fun time with Alexis.

Lynn, I am sorry for your losses. Prayers for all.

Lynne, glad the heat is back. Cold is not fun.

Shirley, hope George is back to "normal" and keeping you company and that insurance will cover your meds.

Hi to all I missed along the way today.

Off to elevate leg/foot. Sure would like faster healing.

stronghunter said...

Judie, you are something else. You read the blog better than most of us. Hope you find some warm comfy sheets.

stronghunter said...

I will continue the search for coverage tomorrow. I am at a loss to understand why they think this medication should last 10 days.

glo said...

OK Shirley Headed over to see George in Big Size. I remember my kitties curling up like that. I hope he is doing good today and you are both enjoying each other.
Judie You are a riot. Don't get Dex mixed up in the sheetz now. He already struggles with the snow. I think the glare reflects back at his eyes and whatever shadown of movement he could see is gone with the snow. He seems more disoriented and struggles more with foting when everything is all white.

Colored sheetz might help though
:-).

I am not sure I will be on at all tomorrow. So will wish everyone a Happy Safe and Healthy New Year now.
CYA next year.

Mema Jo said...

Take care Glo and here's to a very happy new year ahead for you. ((hugs))

Mema Jo said...

I am sitting and relaxing playing my solitaire and lurking on here - Alexis has played me out this evening!
She loves the pc and types on a word doc.. Pink and very very large letters.
She did type her full name this evening. Usually it's just a play typist (very fast mumbo jumbo)

stronghunter said...

Happy New Year, Glo.

stronghunter said...

Lynn, you have mail.

Judie said...

Hey Jo, I think Alexis is destined to be our future blog meister. Won't that be fun?

Glor, I will be extra careful not to confuse Dex -- will get some colorful sheetz just for him.

Speaking of sheetz, I think that's where I'm headed for tonight.

Turning off my light but leaving the night light on for others coming in later. Andy, when you get here, please turn on the security system for us.

Until tomorrow--

magpie said...

Oh My Jo, Alexis sounds just like James on the keyboard! And he is 10 years old!
He likes to hide some words in the midst of all the mumbo jumbo and then we send them to a few of his relatives as a game!

Saw the moon in a cloudless view, now sort of gauzied up by clouds

Good Evening Everyone ! ☺

magpie said...

Good Night Judie, I might have just missed you! I agree with Shirley, you are a real reader, helps the rest of us keep up on this here blog !

xoxo Rest Well.....☺

magpie said...

speaking of old photos, I have dozens to hundreds of rather odd size black and white negatives, some going back to the 40's! And I have no idea who could process these for me. I didn't come around until the 50's so I would love to see what is on some of these.

Evening, all! The Mount lost by 2 points!! It was a good game...couple of questionable calls right at the end....

I had Cohen here at the computer on Christmas...we were listening to animal sounds, so he would type in the animals name after I spelled out each letter for him...he found every letter!

News Flash: Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, officials said. He is in serious condition.

Coincidentally, his visit comes at a time when two of the nation's most powerful Democrats, President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are also staying in Hawaii.

Good Evening Everyone!
Couldn't get on here all day---went to both job sites. After leaving Park at noonish, was going up main hwy, 301. On other side were over a dozen police cars parked near median----county, state, unmarked & one crooked white suv w/open doors. No accident. Fubby saw on TV that they were chasing bank robbers who had stolen the white Mercedes! They had run into the woods. Don't know if they got them!(there isn't much woods there!)So, that was a little exciting.
At Chelsea this PM, saw 17 deets together in front of the house!! That's the most I've seen in the middle of the day.
So, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
BTW, also think Sharon's woodpecker is a sapsucker--red-bellies have more distinct black & white striping on back.
Eyelids are drooping, so guess Im gonna go~~Pleasant Feather Dreams to all hitting the hay ;>)

Have to explain to Geor

Mema Jo said...

Shirley - what do you need to explain to George?

stronghunter said...

Well, that posted before I was ready!

Had to explain to George that I do not try to lick his plate while he is eating, and I expect the same courtesy from him. Is he ever spoiled!

Also want to let you know that the George Phillips who got in trouble in Warrenton today was not my kitty. My George is not a violent guy.

stronghunter said...

Bought some peanuts today to feed the squirrels, but I am a little worried that the little guy that came running to me today might try to run right into the house. I think I had better be sure the door is closed.

Mema Jo said...

The little squirrel seems to know what you are up to but needs to wait for you out on the porch... I guess he doesn't know about George!

stronghunter said...

George is already stalking him from insided the house, and was pawing at the window trying to get at him.

stronghunter said...

hedgie said...

Haven't caught up yet, but: MARGY---my new little thing does negatives, too!!!! I can let you borrow it, or I can do them for you!! Need to make a run to Office Max to get DVD's----it's unbelievable how many pics one will hold!!

hedgie said...

Speaking of deposits.....bad ol' GM informed us last month that ours would not be deposited until the 4th...argh! Guess that means that company still shuts down between Christmas and the new year, despite all the economic woes. People get paid to stay home, but if they work overtime, they get double-time. Go figure!

Costume Lady said...

SHIRLEY, just put up a sign "BEWARE OF THE CAT". Squirrels are very smart, he will understand;)

hedgie said...

LOL,, Shirley---I can see you trying to edge out the door, keeping George in and squirrelly out!!!
Loretta, I had 9 deets out here this
afternoon---all does except for one spike buck. Was letting dog out, and one bark and they all went leaping off----hate scaring them like that, but love watching them leaping and bounding like that.

Mema Jo said...

I think it is that time of the evening when my fingers stop typing..........

Lousy local basketball scores tonight!! Maryland and Mason both got beaten by southern VA schools.

I am going to say good night, too. Poor Andy always hits when we are gone. Hey, girl, enjoy your posts even if I'm not on to chat at the time. Too bad you and Ken can't make that trip to TX, too. :( Hope your weather returns to sunny California norm! Heard there was a quake down in San Diego today----hope it didn't scare our little Diego/Cloud!!!!
Peace and prayers for all. Tomorrow ends another year...and closes another decade! Where do the years go??? Working with all these old photos is making me very nostalgic!

Yep, Andrea covers all the bases, wonder if she takes notes, or just remembers it all! I can hear the keyboard going clickety-clack as I read her posts !

Good Night Shirley and George.

I'll be around, got to finish up a project on the computer, or try to.

Wanda, GG? doing better ??

Lynn - a scanner that does negatives...now that's cool!

Snow for tomorrow...better than sleet and freezing rain! Hope it stays snow here...supposed to start before dawn...hope you don't get called in Margy.

Glad GG has been out and about!

Going to call it a night, see you good people tomorrow...maybe we'll get a new thread! Last one of the year...wow, time does fly.

Good (VERY late) Evening, Everyone!
Hubby & I went and took care of the bulldogs, then stopped at 'Mickey-D's' for some Angus mushroom & Swiss burgers for dinner (no cooking! YAY!), then talked to our oldest granddaughter, Jay, on our cell for quite a while. Had just gotten her new cell number, and it is now covered by 'Our Friends & Family'. Can see we'll be burning up the cell phones regularly! Really good to talk to her--she made eggplant parmesan, and it turned out great! She had Snickerdoodles in the oven while we talked, too. She's beginning to catch on in the kitchen!! TOLD her it would eventually happen! LOL :oD She and a girlfriend have found a really NICE apartment that's reasonably priced, and they really like it. The landlord had been living there himself, so fixed it up quite nicely. Even marble-topped kitchen counters! :o]
Well, after our conversation, I fell asleep in front of the TV, thus this late posting!
Judie, hope you can get to a 'Tarjay' soon--almost all the sheets we have are from there, and they're really nice. Might be on sale now, too! Happy shopping!
Gotta hit the sheetz--flannel, that is... YAY! Hubby has the day off tomorrow, and we're going out to lunch and to see a movie--I think 'Avatar'!
SIL says it's really good--MTBR.
Margy,
I LOVE old photos! Have a HUGE plastic tub the size of a footlocker, full of old family pics and negatives that I must try to organize and identify! Good Lord willing, I'll get them scanned and onto CDs one of these days! Must get a scanner first, though. Can't afford one right now, but it's at the top of the wish list for when I am eventually gainfully employed. One step at a time! Sigh...
Well, better hit the dusty trail to dreamland, so I can keep up with Hubby and his Energizer battery tomorrow! (Or is that later today?) OK--the night light is on, so are my Christmas lights, the porch light's ready to go, and the eye scanner is enabled. Prayers have been said for everyone. Sweet eagle dreams, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. (Hope I'm able to catch more of you. I miss you guys too often!) Any lateniks, please be careful not to let Shirley's squirrel in, or George out! G'night, all. Love you guys! :o]
P.S.~~Caught the weather on the late news, and yes, it's supposed to warm up nicely and be near-perfect weather for the Tournament of Roses parade! Don't know how it does it every year! Unbelievable. :o]

wvgal_dana said...

Lynee2 when I think of you talking about your 1st anniversary. It brings back such happiness full of great memories, "such as 21 years ago two newly weds driving down a major highway heading to Ocean City. (Both had been married and divorced before never thinking they would find a good partner). They couldn't get all the stuff that said, "just married off the car". lol People tooting their horns snd waving at us as they passed us It was so magical. We were two lovers in love and thinking of our future together. Even after being married before we still were nervous. That part sounded funny but it was true. Oh the many memories you will make and treasure. Some are tiny ones but those later will be WONDERS TO REMEMBER. Again CONGRATULATIONS ( :

Shirley where we lived before a few of the squirrels use to eat peanuts right out of my hand. They never never bothered my screen on my storm door. They were never destructive. When we downsized Ed amd I did miss the squirrels. They are a riot to watch. Loved it when they had their babies.

wvgal_dana said...

I just love the little slight noises this dogie (used spell checker for something and it hit on were I spelt doggie shows only one g still learning lol) of Ed's makes in his sleep. Happy New Year's Eve! Had another yucky sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching night, one of those nights where you really look forward to daylight. I am going to work a little while today and then we are heading back to WV. Have to take Mattie home today :( But on the upside, Andrew is going to bring in the New Year with me one more time. YAY! Next week they fly to Ft. Lauderdale and then go on a cruise I think for a week. I won't be liking him too good for those days. That even counts with my own son! :)

We have quite a bit of sleet out here this morning but it is crunching and not so slick when you walk on it.

Need to add cowbirds to my list of birds this morning. Haven't seen them here before.

We did the same if it was only the two of us. We never miss a KISS on New Years. I'm not sure I'm watching the ball come down. MARGY is the kind of worker every employer would like to have working for him/her!!--LOVE HER!

Mits said...

go to the site I just posted, Lynn, and you will see the sea eagle and some ravens....Suzanne saw hoodies, ravens and hawks at that site yesterday

stronghunter said...

"Slim sucking bottom feeding maggot waste Adam"--sounds like an evil guy. I hope it is a soap. Would not want to run into him.

Mits said...

truck just went by twice to treat our icy streets:)

stronghunter said...

We have ice, no snow here. I am glad that I do not have to go out for awhile.

wvgal_dana said...

Lynne2 is this a rental company or just a guy you rent off of? What type of heat is it? Next question: Give me his name!!!

hedgie said...

Wanda was asking me last night about a plane crash on a soap we watch---thus the mention of the Newmans, Norma and Shirley!! Not to worry----all is well!

Mits, Suz gave me that site yesterday---I went the merry goose chase with it! It would default to their forum, which is what I had in my favs anyway, but NO CAM!!! Finally sent Paula an SOS----it opens as a RealPlayer media presentation----no RP on netbook (not enough free space to download), so went to PC and brought it up there, and VOILA! I was able to watch! But still couldn't save the addy to favorites!

osprey eating fish at Dunedin cam

Mits said...

yeah, I sent it to her a couple of months ago, and I had forgotten all about it....it is a great site, split screen one on ground one of tree, the sea eagle is in the tree now, and raven still on ground eating...there forum has plenty of neat pictures

Lynne2 said...

Norma, the heater fixer guy was here yesterday. It worked for a few hours. I've called Kyle, the landlord who is also our neighbor.

This boiler is ancient. Kyle calls it the "bain of his existence". It hasn't worked right since we started using it when the weather got colder.

This part of the house sat empty for several years before he remolded and we moved in in August and I'm pretty sure that they don't care if it sits empty again...meaning that if, as he says, it would cost him as much to replace it as it would to buy a new truck, then it could be easier to simply decide to NOT rent the place. Our rent is really inexpensive relative to anything else in our area. If we had to move, it would really hurt us financially right now, especially with me not working yet. We are really of humble means. So, we don't make waves. We hope for the best. I'm sure he'll get it taken care of.

normabyrd said...

WHOA! HEDGIE--If you can't get in--I know I wouldn't even try!!---I guess I need to spend more time on the blog!!---I am anxious for all the little eggs to be laid--

Mits said...

mom just flew out of Dunedin nest with the fish stuck to her talons, and dad has taken over the incubating

Mits said...

not sure who is who there yet...dad vs. mom, just guessing at this point

Mits said...

getting dark at Finland ground cam, sea eagle is still on the tree branch.

normabyrd said...

LYNN2---I know what you mean---we were in the same circumstances--but you just need to be firm---so easy for me to say now! ho!---when is your appt??

wvgal_dana said...

So on the cam split screen where raven and the eagle eagle are. Is there no way to get an http so we can put it in our favorites instead of the screen play just coming up?

I see Lynne2 I'll just pray for a heat wave from someplace else in the house to come over you twos way...plus the furnace to be fixed. There are some low wattage electric heaters out there not too expensive. Never leave home with it plugged in. Have some family/friends that have used them said it actually cut down on the heat bill.

normabyrd said...

WHOA!----I pray that our 'HANDSOME---INTELLIGENT--STEVE' is still in the country--ho!---We WOULDN'T want to go to BIG #S during the NEW YEAR!!

ceil said...

Hi everyone. I just posted and it went into cyberspace. Stopping in to say hello. We had a wonderful Christmas and visit. Will tell you later. Caught up on the blog but forgot most of it. Margy is at work and George is doing better. I bet he is. Not a good feeling when you are plug up. Judie didn't find sheetz. Many people to pray for. Dana I thought about you a lot during the holidays. Hope the Lord makes it easier. And thought of Deb and her family. Have to get dressed and off to the drugstore. BBL

Our nest runs over...

No eagle prints yet...someone call them in..maybe that will work.

hedgie said...

TG it's just a fish stuck to the talons and not a chick! Sure don't want to have to watch that kind of drama again, Mits!

hedgie said...

Norma, go ahead and try....if you have RealPlayer, it will open fine. If not, it will go to the forum, and like Mits says they have nice pictures posted.

In honor of the New Year...

You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

And when things start to happen,
don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along.
You'll start happening too.

You'll be on your way up!
You'll be seeing great sights!
You'll join the high fliers
who soar to high heights.

So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life's
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.

And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
