Hi all! Just came in to say good night. I will be so glad when I get my laptop back on line. This computer is slow compared to the laptop.

I have been exhausted this evening. All the standing in the kitchen wore me out. Yes, Paula, it has smelled good around here. Careful driving when you venture out tomorrow.

I am finishing wrapping tomorrow and get the house ready for Laurel and the boys Tuesday. They are coming in the afternoon and staying until sometime Wed. She has a lot to do so I imagine she will head home in the morning. Then they will be back Christmas morning and stay until Sunday.

I am off to shower and head to bed. Nite all! Sweet dreams!

Well, I split and did not even know it! Such talent!

Think I am going to head to bed myself. Good night! See you tomorrow.

magpie said...

Okay me too, Good Night now.
Sorry I missed Lolly and Jo...watching that Santa do the jig makes it hard to imagine Lolly being tired...or easy to understand, one of the two...

Rest well. Glad about that wedding taking place, Sharon... just heard a train go through, reminded me of Y☺U

Any night owls: Hello ☺

Speaking of driveways...our neighbor plowed our driveway, bless his heart!
No one plowed out GGs driveway, so we (Gene) plowed it out with my car (4 wheel drive). She was out and about shoveling a path so we would have a place to walk, once we got up to her porch...just in the hospital 4 days ago!:( Don't know what to do with her!
Sandman is calling me:)

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL

NITE, NITE, MISS NORMA...SLEEP WELL!

PA Nana said...

Well, I'm late again. Sweet dreams of sugar plums to all my feather friends.

I'm always one of the last to say goodnight. My sleeping patterns are way off. Besides I read all the posts before I post. Don't want to miss anything.

Anyone venturing out tomorrow, be very careful. Around here the roads are very icy. Jim must go out early tomorrow for bloodwork and an ultrasound. Fortunately, he has a 4-wheel drive truck, although I still worry about the other crazies out there.

I should be going along for my blood tests, but I can barely get socks on let alone boots! My tests aren't important and can wait a while.

I wanted to ask Paula if her dogs are Irish Setters and wanted to tell Wanda I loved the pics, especially the sunrise and the Captain. And she had a Tiger in her yard.

Well, whoever is here, a restful sleep and blessings for all needs/wants.
God bless

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone!
Wandering in late here to say goodnight.
Sounds like everyone is in a warm roost for the night.
Hope those of you who venture forth tomorrow will be extremely careful!
Prayers that the roads will be clear, with no ice.
Judie, I think you need to sic Lynn on your doctors! Honestly, you really need to be your own doctor nowadays! It's a cryin' shame! Oooh, don't get me started! I'm pretty angry with Hubby's doctor right now for the same reasons, and am really frustrated with the situation! Woof! No, double WOOF!
Well, need to get up really early tomorrow, so think I'll say goodnight. Prayers for everyone being said. The night light is on, the porch light is automatic, and the eye scanner's ready to go. Sleep tight, everybody, and I'll talk to you in the morning. Sweet dreams! Love all you guys! :o]

Good morning everyone!! Hope everyone is safe and snug this morning. It is still pretty nasty out there, roads still a mess around here.

magpie said...

Hi there Sissy...☺
Yep, cold and messy here in Berkeley County...
I am watching those rainbowy squiggly lines on our cam, and wondering if things will change as daylight occurs.

How is everyone down your way

xo

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Good morning magpie! Yeah, those squiggly rainbow lines are not usually a good sign, are they?

magpie said...

nope :(

Sure is good to see that fancy festive Eagle next to your name - been missing that !
Is "George" decorated for the holidays?

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

He has a Santa hat on but the wind keeps blowing it off. Don't wanna put any staples in him or anything to hold it on though.

magpie said...

There are some great photos on several of the blogs with snow photos from over the week-end...
Paula, Lynn, Wanda, Shirley, Lynne2, and pardon my manners if the brain is not all awake yet with some of the others. AND, some cool nest visit photos from yesterday on the Momsters album ☺

And how about all the neat avatars for the holidays?

I think, it has already occurred.

magpie said...

I got a tableful of Christmas cards, stickers and labels to approach this morning
Going to disappear to start on those for awhile.

Hope your day is a good one, Sissy,
and also Best Wishes to Everyone Else on that !

One of Andrew's best friends got married yesterday. Andrew was a groomsman (very handsome one, I might add). So, we went to the wedding. We have our car in a little neighborhood store's parking lot until they clear our hill. I fear it may be a little while before that happens though. Lots of side streets are not treated yet. But, today is garbage day, so maybe they will get it cleared sometime.

magpie said...

If we don't get a view on our cam at daylight, I will send an email to Steve

How about that Nilla !

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Lord, I just looked outside. We probably got another inch of snow over night and it is snowing now!!!

Good morning Norma. The wedding was beautiful. Not alot of people there, of course, but beautiful nonetheless. The groom and their newborn baby were baptized after the wedding ceremony. It was nice. The wedding was supposed to have been Saturday but no one could get to the church, so they postponed it until yesterday.

Good morning everyone. Took a peak at cam and then headed on over here. Hope everyone is in for a warm safe day. I am sure you have stocke dup on cmfort food. have some more its OK :-). We had a couple inches of light snow yesterday . Very pretty and whitened up all our stuff from a week ago. Things look very nice and rods after you get off the side streets here won't be bad at all. My community seems to have decided to hope for the best with the side streets in many areas so we have ruts of ice everywhere fromt he last storm. Means new snow hides that and makes it tricky to get out of neighborhood. Then smooth going. You will have smooth going again soon.

UGH, looks like our Christmas morning drive to Terra Alta is going to be ruined by more bad weather. Steve is pretty bummed because he has off the day after for the first time in years and wanted to go up and spend Christmas with his mom. :(

We have a big flock of cowbirds this morning raiding the feeders and 2 mornings ago it was grackles. Haven't seen either til now this year. Those grackles have NO manners!

hedgie said...

Good morning all!
Lots of AM posts to catch up on. Norma, glad you got your papers. Had to laugh----I got the inserts for Sun. Mtsbg. paper yesterday but not the body. I called this AM when it still wasn't here, and asked if they had published. Yes....so who delivers only part of a paper? Duh. She said she would make sure it comes tomorrow. Obviously, advertising is most important!

stronghunter said...

Hi Lynn,

Kathryn used to deliver the newspaper. The Sunday paper came in two sections and the carrier had to put them together. Looks like your carrier didn't put them together.

hedgie said...

Did anyone see the news about the new military pregnancy "laws'? If a soldier stationed in Iraq becomes pregnant, or male impregnates, they will be prosecuted/court-martialed because removal from duty creates personnel logistic problems. This will apply even to married couples. It also will apply to civilian contractors.
Wow....see all kinds of legal counter-action to this!!

stronghunter said...

That could get very complicated, Lynn. Maybe create more logistic problems than just getting the pregnant woman out of Iraq.

hedgie said...

Dear Ceil, when does Jim get in? Hope you have a perfectly wonderful holiday. And yep, we are glad you all aren't the travelers this year! What a trip you had last Christmas!! Eagle greetings to Jim and his lady!

hedgie said...

Shirley, ex and I did Sunday Washington Post for 15 yrs. back in the late 70's, 80's, early 90's. We paid people to put the paper together at the drop-off location. We had the entire county residential and commercial route. Big job....but VERY good money. Small local paper is a big joke in comparison! With a full-size pick-up truck, he had to go back to barn and refill halfway through route.

floralgirl said...

That is balmy:) Doesn't feel too bad out here, winds are calm. Hoping the sun is gonna shine for a while, supposed to be partly cloudy. Got a lot more shoveling to do before we could ever get out of here. Luckily for me I don't need to go anywhere.

Mits said...

I don't need to go anywhere either, we went out yesterday, hubby only got his side of the driveway and walkway done.....once we got out of the neighborhood, beltway and I95 were fine, he had no problem going to work this a.m., but said in the District only one lane of Mass. Avenue was cleared.

floralgirl said...

I'm gonna walk to the mailbox later so we can see what the lane looks like. They should have the county road into town clear by today, heard they were still a mess yesterday morning. We can't see the main road from the house.

Good morning, everyone.

Ceil -- enjoy the holidays and check in if/when you can.

Margy, so sorry you have to work Christmas eve but hope you will be able to enjoy Christmas day.

THANK YOU, JOHN! Cross-country skies? Eagle prayer for solar rays.

Poor kid next door story. Offered to clear snow from driveway and walk. He's home from college and wants spending money. Humor is that he is very slight in build and it has taken him two days and he's still not finished. However, he offered -- we did not ask.

Yes, going to take Lynn with me to Walter Reed. Problem is they have their "protocols" and individuals are not included. Just follow orders. THEY CAN'T HEAR ME!!!

Going back to reading for school. I'm already thinking bacon pasta tonight.

Anyone venturing out -- please be careful and use extra caution!

Judie said...

Oh dear, someone please explain how I (we) are married to John! Quick, before Darth decides to read the blog.

stronghunter said...

I think Norma has to explain that one, Judie.

Perhaps you need to take a delegation of Momsters, Dadsters (or Popsters) with eagle canes to Walter Reed.

I guess they have some kind of military mindset at WR. They think you are supposed to obey orders without question. I don't function well under those circumstances, either.

Still no plow here. Will says the news says it may be 2 more days. He's guessing it is because they laid off so many DOT workers. He's considering shoveling the street. I see one neighbor who seems to be doing just that. Will is supposed to work tomorrow.

My daughter has a doctor who is usually outdone with her...he says he is willing to help her, but she is not willing to spend the money that it costs. (frequent blood tests and very expensive meds)
Maybe the new Health Care Bill will help her...I know it WON'T HELP ME!

Bird Girl
Hi !
Still cam held up great through the worst of the week-end, seems to have gone on the fritz very early this morning, around 3 am or so.

NCTC is closed today, due to the weathher, John is one of the gurus there who is going to try to clean the snow off the solar panels, so maybe later, we might have a view. Steve must have given him the alert.

No recent updates on the live feed.

Good to see you! Thanks for the greetings xoxo

Someone probably already answered this for you. I type slowly

stronghunter said...

Margy, you gave many more details than I did.

stronghunter said...

I hope that it will help her, Wanda, and my son Will, too. But I am afraid it will not help right away.

Bird Girl said...

Thanks! I wonder what our eagles are thinking about the mass amount of snow?

magpie said...

They made some great appearances in the nest Sunday, Delphia. We did not see them at all on Saturday.
Can you access the Momsters Photo albums off the home page? We have over 200 photos on the December album, which is on the first page of albums if you go to photos.

So, anything going on weather wise out your way?

magpie said...

Paula, sounds like your Bob Evans Breakfast Bash went well. Yay !

Bird Girl said...

The weather here in Phoenix metropolis is not too shabby recently. Sunny days, 60s and 70s for the highs, 50s and 40s for the lows. Our "bad weather" is in the summer, but at least we don't have to shovel the heat!!! :)

I guess I got enough Christmas cards and bills done to justify going out to the post office, means I have to change out of my pajamas finally

magpie said...

Good Point, Bird Girl. That sounds mighty nice this time of the year !
Well, Happy Winter anyway ☺

magpie said...

by the way, Bird Girl, those rainbowy lines at the top of our Still Cam, is always a sign that the cam is not running right, even though the clock is running at the correct time for us

magpie said...

Time to get ready to get ready.
Best wishes for a good day for everyone, that your plans go as needed.
xo TTFN ☺

Bird Girl said...

well my biggest clue was that it's the middle of the day, but the picture is from during the night LOL

Costume Lady said...

MARGY, you CAN wear your PJs to WAL MART! lol
Not to Post Office, they might think you are GOING POSTAL;)

Costume Lady said...

Feeling better, Delphia?

Mits said...

Shirley,You might try to go to your counties web site to see the progress being made in your area.....I just went to mine, and put in my address.....said they are working in the area, then pulled up a full map of the parts of the county that have been done, and what they are working on.

Costume Lady said...

I suggested a long time ago for someone to show me how to clean those solar panels off. I am only 10 minutes away:)

Bird Girl said...

CostumeLady, yes I'm feeling better from my surgery, just dealing with I guess a sinus thing now. And an unwell old dog. LOL

Judie said...

Oooooh! Clandestine blog love. Um, hi John!

Phoenix sounds lovely, Bird Girl!

Yep, Shirley, I ask too many questions and know just enough to make the less experienced docs uncomfortable.

Jealous, Paula. I could enjoy a Bob Evans breakfast about now but ... off to maybe bake some cookies, instead.

hedgie said...

Mits, that's a very cool, accommodating thing to have!! I'll bet dollars to donuts we'll never have that coutesy here. :(

stronghunter said...

I left that doctor behind years ago, Judie, thank goodness. The twins are now almost 30 years old.

It is not comfortable when the doctor resents your questions. It's your life at stake, not the doctor's.

hedgie said...

Getting the small chores accomplished...one at a time! Beginning to get the feeling that I may be doing all of this for naught. If the weather prediction doesn't improve, I will probably be all alone on Christmas as kids won't be able to get here. Depression is starting to set in.

stronghunter said...

Gonna check the county website. It does almost look like maybe something passed down our street, but it is still very snow covered. Will took off. I asked him where he was going and he said, "Out." Then he added that he might do some Christmas shopping.

stronghunter said...

Oh, Lynn, I hope they will be able to get there. And, I hope mine will be able to get here.

Bird Girl said...

Unfortunately, I've had a LOT of experience with dealing with doctors in various fields. You have to be a "bad patient" it seems, to get them to listen to you and not treat you like a moron.

LOL Wanda....
If do anything whacky, Lynn will hear it on the scanner and spill the beans!

I'll wear my camo bibs and no one will be able to See Me.

Okay it's time now.

Lynn, Shirley, and others, if we are "alone" on Christmas Day, we will be loading up the posts on the Blog! We can't be alone HERE ! ☺ ♥
But my prayer, is for that NOT to happen and for you all to be with your loved ones, me too....
TTFN xo

Eagle at BWO

I meant BWE

stronghunter said...

Will just called. He made it to the Giant. Said it is awful out there. Don't think he's going any further.

He commented that he and I might be eating Christmas dinner alone. I think Tom and Kathryn would be able to make it. Others are coming from the DC area by way of I-95. That might be okay, but would not want them to take any risks.

floralgirl said...

Well, you know what they say...it is what it is..I heard that somewhere:) grin and bear it is my latest philosophy, so on that note I am off to shovel more snow so maybe we can get out of here tomorrow- for school and possibly work for hubby.
Walk to mailbox was pretty, main road into town still snow covered in spots, plows are working on it. development road is awful.
Oh and while I'm thinking of it, I had a Christmas card in the mailbox, and I wanted to say for health reasons, that if you are holding your breath waiting for the Christmas card I sent you to arrive, please exhale...cause I never mailed any....

stronghunter said...

Just figured out the difference between BWE and BWO a couple of days ago.

stronghunter said...

I have not mailed all of my cards, either. I do not know when I will have mail delivery or pick-up. I do wish everyone a Merry Christmas, whether you get a card or not.

Mits said...

that is right Megan, it is what it is.....would love to have control, but that will not happen:)

stronghunter said...

Ordered gifts for my two brothers online; they promised delivery tomorrow. We will see. One in Colorado, maybe. One in N.C., I wonder? Paid a premium price for next-day delivery.

Bird Girl said...

ok guys time to do some chores (blech)

be safe, be warm!

hedgie said...

Megan, we don't need cards in return!!! Just seeing your lovely creations warms our hearts!! Just wish we could see your lovely face more often.
I know, I know. I deal with "it is what it is" in mamny facets of life. But Christmas is my most very special time....I've never been alone for it in all of my 60 years...and this might well be my last Christmas....don't think I can handle it. We aren't supposed to pray for THINGS, but I am praying ever so hard that we have no more snow, ice, sleet, etc.

stronghunter said...

Somebody put a sign at Snowman.

stronghunter said...

Lynn, do stay in touch with us. We cannot relpace your special ones, but we will reach out and touch you in every way we can.
