Just reading Shirley and Lolly's comment about Still Cam Page -
I can't get it either...... I wish, I wish, I wish we would be getting an
early Christmas present of the Live feed - BUT I think it is too much to hope for. I thought maybe the Deer Hunt but that is tomorrow
December 19th - Muzzleloader & Bow

Well Keep trying to bring the cam up!

Mema Jo said...

STILL CAM IS UP/RUNNING NOW

stronghunter said...

Just got the cam back, Jo.

Mema Jo said...

I keep looking outside at the deck - nothing yet. I hope everyone gets into their homes before weather gets treacherous for them.
Judie said they had to go out...
My Jennifer gets off at 9pm with a 20-30 minute commute to get home. So I guess that is why I am looking outside at the deck.....

Mema Jo said...

Shirley is your school closed all next week?

stronghunter said...

Gov. of VA has declared a state of emergency. CNN is showing Charlottesville.

stronghunter said...

No school unitl Jan. 4. I feel blessed, but I was planning to do most of my Christmas shopping in the few days before Christmas. Of course, I have one advantage. Susan works at a mall. We're on e-mail discussing what I want her to pick up for me. We're discussing a $99.00 purse she can get on sale and with her discount for $20. I said "get it." Can't beat that.

Mema Jo said...

That call Good Connections!

Mema Jo said...

I need a good book to read and I probably will be able to fine one here in the house. Guess I'll start looking or else I do have my new issue of Birds/Blooms... Almost forgot about it.

No problem here getting still cam up. Maybe I'm the PC for the day!! LOL!

stronghunter said...

I have the cam up now.

hedgie said...

Shirley, glad you beat the snow and got into your roost safely!

stronghunter said...

It started pretty soon after I got home. I'm glad I beat it, too.

getting ready for bed. I'll be up 10 times overnight checking for snow! I hope everyone stays home, and safe and that everyone's loved ones get or stay home out of the nastiness tomorrow. Prayers for all!

stronghunter said...

Good night, Lynne.

hedgie said...

Hope you get some sleep in between those checks, Lynne. I'm the same way---as if I can do anything about it! LOL.
Take your pain med before you hit the hay!

stronghunter said...

Lynn, is it snowing there?

Just talked with Kathryn. They were out shopping and she said the

Hi, Eagle Buddies!
We made it to the timeshare--and OMG, is it beautiful!!!! We are now TOTALLY spoiled!!!! Must download some pics into the laptop and change my avatar!

I really feel bad having to tell you this, but it was 76 with bright sunshine today, and balmy breezes! PLEASE don't hate me! I hope all of you have made it to your roosts safely tonight! Sounds like you're up to your cabooses in the S word!
Promise me you'll be really careful if you go out in that mess!

Don't know how much time this connection gives me,so better hurry. I'm turning on the night light and porch light, and the eye scanner's enabled--first things first!

How's Lynne tonight? Haven't taken the time to read all the way back on the blog. Have been dumped off the internet twice getting here. Know she made it home OK, and the surgery went well. Hope the arm is healing quickly.

Ms Bookworm said...

Nilla,
You're making soup with RIVELS!!!! Yum!!! Hubby is from Lancaster, PA originally, so know all about them!
Talk about comfort food!

Ms Bookworm said...

OK, you guys--here's a view of the sunset from our balcony. Gee, it's SO quiet here, it's kinda spooky! May open the slider so we can hear the crickets chirp!

stronghunter said...

Beautiful, Andy. You have earned this vacation. I hope you enjoy every minute.

Ms Bookworm said...

Yay, Shirley! You and me, girlfriend! I don't have school until Jan. 4, either! Hope Judie doesn't have school until then!

stronghunter said...

I think Judie has even more time than that.

Ms Bookworm said...

Fantastic! I'd say she's overdue for a good rest! Mmmmmm M&Ms, cheesecake, fruitcake cookies, and lots of time off!

floralgirl said...

76° with balmy breezes....sounds good. Have a wonderful time, Andrea:)
Starting to snow here now.

NillaWafer said...

Well im back from going to grocery store and getting gas in car i must say it wasnt all that bad other than all shelves being empty just like any friday night shopping..lol No snow here yet daughter called she is stopping by Wal Mart and said no hamburger there neither... Car is turned in drive way facing out to road.. although daughter says mom your NOT going any where's..lol Ms B bean soup isnt bean soup without Rivels..although it was good at RedBird rest we had lunch at the other day.. Glad everyone made it home safe and hope everyone stays in side to enjoy this beautiful covering of white..lol

Mema Jo said...

Phone just rang and a familiar voice said: I'm Home! I am relieved to know Jenny had a safe trip from Hagerstown over the mountain to Knoxville! Said flakes had just started when she turned onto her road.

Now I would like to hear that Judie and Frank are home safe and warm.

hedgie said...

Hi, Andy....lovely sunset! Enjoy your luxury!
Shirley, not snowing here yet, but just started 15 miles south at my daughters. It will be here soon.

stronghunter said...

Snowing hard here.

Mema Jo said...

I know where Andrea is lol
I bet I'd be in that jacuzzi by now, girlfriend!

stronghunter said...

Glad she's home, Jo.

Lynne2 said...

good news Jo....and I hope Judie and Frank get to checking in here soon. Not snowing here yet.Who else...Margy, she's working isn't she. yikes. Prayers and more prayers.
I'm REALLY going to bed now....Probably check back when I get up for "snow patrol" later in the wee hours.

Lynne2 said...

Andrea, I'm totally jealous but so glad you are having such a wonderful time@

Ms Bookworm said...

Gosh, they're going to have to pry me out of this gorgeous timeshare with a crowbar! This one's a real 'sleeper'! Ours is one of the newest ones, and it's totally 'green', and all kinda Frank Lloyd Wright in decor. Think I'm gonna call it a night, and watch TV in the bedroom--the fireplace between the huge, comfy bed and the big bathtub/jacuzzi combo is burning! Calgon, take me away! More pictures tomorrow. Prayers for everyone being said.
Sleep tight, and cozy, and will talk to you tomorrow--maybe later tonight, if I wake up and have to pinch myself to prove I'm not dreaming, and then can't get back to sleep right away! Love all of you guys! G'night! :o]

Costume Lady said...

Is everyone safe and sound except for Judie and Darth?

No snow here yet either, Lynn.
Hope no one has to go out tomorrow. Stay in and enjoy the beauty of it all:)
I do worry about Margy, but I know one of the deputies would help her if needed:)
I'll bet this snow will be spectacular at the beach...if it snows instead of rain.

Costume Lady said...

Nite Andrea...sleep tight and late:)

Lynne2 said...

I think lots of erosion in store AGAIN for the beaches tomorrow, just what they don't need. But it sure would be cool to see this kind of snow at the beach!

NatureNut said...

Snow here! Noticed it about 1/2 hour ago, don't know exactly when it started, but we live on same road as Public Works, so all the trucks come by. One truck had trouble getting up the hill & was very noisy, had the bed up a little & salt was streaming out as he tried to lurch!Hope that one gets retired!!!
Still getting new addresses from daughter.SIL was in IL & had problem at one airport from ice on wings. When he awoke it was 3°, & when he left motel for work it was 6°!
Back to chores~~~~~

stronghunter said...

I have every intention of staying home tomorrow. Kathryn says Tom is supposed to call to find out if he has to work tomorrow, but I don't think he will be expected to. Will is thinking he won't have to work. I hope not.

Mema Jo said...

Another phone call: We're on our way home after we pick up Quinn!
They (Catonsville daughter/sil) had office party in VA and now on way to daughter's house in DC to pick up their son. Said they were driving ok!

Mema Jo said...

Thank goodness they are not city drivers - used to the snow driving.

stronghunter said...

Deet at Snowman.

hedgie said...

It's s-t-a-r-t-e-d......:(

Mema Jo said...

Snow has started in my valley

Costume Lady said...

It has begun snowing here.

Costume Lady said...

Doesn't look as if it has reached the Sycamore Palace yet. That's 3 miles up the road.

Costume Lady said...

Lynn, don't fret...sit back and enjoy the beauty that I know will see from your sunroom in the morning:)

stronghunter said...

8 inches already in Charlottesville.

stronghunter said...

I am sure it will be beautiful tomorrow morning in your lovely spot in the woods, Lynn.

Lolly said...

Ohhhh, you guys are making me cold. Here you are having a snow storm, Andy is in the jacuzzi, and we sit at mid 40's and beautiful, sun shiny days.

Cleaned up the kitchen from baking all day. We had Mrs. Callendars chicken pot pies for supper. Did not feel like doing more cooking.

Lolly said...

Guess Andy is gone now. Her sunset pictures is beautiful.

Lolly said...

Don't you know Lynn's place is beautiful with all the snow.

hedgie said...

Wanda, I guess I could say let it snow, let it snow.....I'm in with everything I need....and it is beautiful here...BUT, I hate snow. If it would all melt or be cleared off the roads and the power would stay on, I'd be okay....but we both know that isn't how it works around here! Do you have GG with you?

wvgal_dana said...

It has already started to snow here.

stronghunter said...

I do hope your power stays on, Lynn.

hedgie said...

SIL is NOT bringing wood tonight. Too tired. Says in the AM....right! He was too busy today to take Carolyns' car to get new tires put on. Her dad took it for her, and waited for over 4 hrs.! Fit to be tied, I'm sure.

hedgie said...

Wrecks already starting on Interstate.

hedgie said...

Cops are saying that the "pre-treat" didn't help at all. Wonder what they used?
Heard that DC and some parts of MD are using some kind of molasses mixture to pretreat---makes the cinders, etc. stick better! Ooey-gooey!

hedgie said...

Jo, still no Greetings on CNN....been watching since 9.

wvgal_dana said...

I fell asleep watching Santa Claus Tim Allen in it.

NillaWafer said...

All of my family is home safe now except for SIL on his way from Hagerstown.. Grandson said roads are really bad down towards Inwood.. Jazzy is snuggled sound asleep in her daddys bed with visions of Sugar Plums dancing in her head..lol Pizza is on the table and soups in the pot...my daughter is making tortilla's and frying steak... and smells so good in here...

hedgie said...

Gee, Nilla, sounds like you have opened a restaurant!!

Costume Lady said...

Lynn, lets go for a ride...Nilla's menu sounds yummy!!

Mema Jo said...

Lynn - I haven't seen it either.
I saw one or two on Channel 13 during the news this early evening. Well it isn't as though we haven't already seen it. Kristen heard it on WFMD the other morning.

hedgie said...

Is Gene driving, Wanda???

NillaWafer said...

Hahaha yeah it does... lol well bean soup is good warmed up and Dawn brought pizza home and she is making steak and torillas for her husband... Snow is coming down Lie'n Lou says its going to be bad.. haha maybe this time he is right as much as a foot of snow

Mema Jo said...

Dana - I hope you can get right back to sleep and then in the morning see the new fallen snow --- a lot of it!

hedgie said...

I hate driving in snow SO bad---fraidy cat, actually---that when I got my new truck I DIDN'T get 4-wheel drive. Figured I had no need for it since retiring....good excuse not to have to venture out! If something crucial arises, Bill can come get me.

Mema Jo said...

With the night light - I can't tell if there is or isn't snow in the nest.
Be a miracle it there wasn't . All of you around the nest area has the snow.

Margy was doing a 12 hr shift - right..
6pm to 6am?

wvgal_dana said...

lol I won't be able to get my doors open. I'll look funny if I have to crawl out a window to clean snow aways from doors.

hedgie said...

I will say goodnight to all of you fine, fowl friends. Going to stay in tub til I wrinkle-----if power goes out, it will be my last bath for who knows how long! The ONLY bad part about having a well!

wvgal_dana said...

hedgie said...

Hope everyone sleeps well....and that Judie checks in when she gets home.
Prayers for all for every need, but tonight especially for safety with a capital S!

Mema Jo said...

With as much snow as they expect I don't know why MD and WV couldn't have the State of Emergency like VA did.
It keeps people off the roads!

Did Shirley fall asleep in her chair?
I hope Diann did the same.

Mema Jo said...

Capital "S" S now ?

Is that not what you meant, Lynn

Mema Jo said...

Dana - If you get snowed in the house
Call Hedgesville guys! They'll come shovel you a path!

Mema Jo said...

I am going to call it a good day!

Good Night All
Peace to you and yours
Enjoy the new fallen snow
Prayers for everyone!

((hugs)) ♥ ♥ ♥

Judie said...

Andy, I wouldn't talk about the beautiful weather out there if I were you -- else watch yer back! Snow here is dreadful.

We made it home but it was a real slickery ride. We saw Young Frankenstein. It was good but I thought the jokes were contrived. Did really, really enjoy the Puttin on the Ritz song and dance.

Well, hope everyone is safe and sound with a good book, t.v. or movies to watch over the next day or two and that all family members and loved ones are also safe. I plan to stay put and put my leg/foot up. Still too swollen to put a shoe on.

Will check in tomorrow after reading back through today. Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Andy, if you have a remote, please set the security system for us.

Cheers

Hi, Everyone,
Just had to check back to see if everyone got home all right. Oh, how I wish it were possible to transport all of you to SoCal! Beam them up, Scotty!
Judie, glad you enjoyed 'Young Frankenstein'. I've always liked 'Puttin' on the Ritz', too!

PA Nana said...

Evening everyone. This whole day was bombarded with news about this impending snow storm. I remember them from years ago and don't remember all this fuss. Must be getting old.

I am really tired today. With bad weather approaching, I've had to take some pain medication and then that gives me insomnia so I need to take a sleeping aid..... I was up until about 6 :30am when Jim left for the garage. Then I fell asleep for a few hours until my doctors' office called about an emergency prescription because our mail order was delayed. Such a mess. Then since it was our regular grocery day had to send Jim because I didn't have enough sleep to stand in lines.

Now, I'm going to my recliner to get some much needed sleep and expect tomorrow with be beautful with snow on all our trees and the traffic (if there is any) quiet.
Jut hope the power stays on.

Lynee I hope you had immediately release of that pressure and will heal quickly.

To all, if you don't have to be out in the expected mess - stay home, stay warm.
Good nite and God bless.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Wanda and Shirley,
You guys still awake? Here's a picture of part of the golf course here. Totally habit forming and restful beyond belief! Wish that Dana could come and stay here--it's SO restorative!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Diann,
Wish you could be here, too! You would LOVE it! Sure am glad you got the prescription--have been thinking of trying to order my prescriptions through the mail, but now wonder if that's a good idea. Have you had problems like this a lot?

Ms Bookworm said...

You know what, the more I think about it, the more I think ALL of you should take the red-eye and come on out! I'm sure it would do all of you a lot of good! I'll change my avatar often and let you see more of this place. When we're back home I might be able to post some pics, but this connection is way too slow. Took over 30 min. to receive 31 e-mails!

Ms Bookworm said...

OOh--Hubby just found 'Criminal Minds' on the TV--will say goodnight, and talk to you in the morning. Prayers continue for everyone. Don't worry, Judie--the remote control works. Security is in place and enabled. ;o] Sweet dreams, and stay snug! :o]

A couple of you have addressed your card to Dex and I on the inside. That is so special to me. I think I am going to keep them and put them in his photo album. Unfortunately if you sent it to the house number on the mailing list going around well I did not move BUT that is not the right number. Those cards are being returned I think as there is also no such house. BUT I thank you all anyway. If anyone needs and wants to know the address house number should be 3106. Everything else is fine.

Preparations for using a broomor shoveling snow:
1- pair of clothes Ed had lined ones that are some type of plastic leather regular leather will get wet too fast.
2- 2 pairs of socks
3- 2 pair of pants one tighter then 1 looser
4- 1 hootie sweatshirt
5- push panats legs into boots
6- a coat that the snow can't make it wet to come through to your body
7- no glasses
8- wear a mask over face like in hospitals helps not to bring on asthma attack on and helps with breathing
9- warms boots that don't leak
10-last but not least A LEATHER (leather is for winter in hats in case someone did not know) A LEATHER STEELER HAT ( : lol
I know it was God and Ed that dressed me.
Cause I would have never thought to use Ed's stuff...wouldn't even think it would fit.

I had to remove snow little by little to get out the front door. I got the snow off the tarp I had put on the doggie ramp. When
I let him out I was removing the tarp. You'll never guess what he did....yep he pee'd on the snow on front porch roflmbo

Ater getting him in and wipping him off. I stayed outside just to enjoy God's weather.
God is so GOOD ( :

Good snowy morning, everyone.

The nest looks so beautiful filled with snow. It would be awesome to see an eagle or two but the nest just looks so pretty.

Lots and lots of snow here. I would guess a foot or more looking at the accumulation. Not going out today. Plan to submit grades to the Registrar. THEN I AM FREE UNTIL JANUARY 11. Well, okay, I have to do a lot of reading and prep but I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE WANNABES.

Please enjoy the gorgeous day from inside if possible.

paula eagleholic said...

My dogs have been out once and are ready to go out and play in the snow again!

Is there a non emergency number there to check and see if Margy is still at work an dif not what time she left. Sure would be nice to know that we know where she is.

PAULA!----COOL AVATAR!!!!!!!!!!!

hedgie said...

Hello again. Still coming down. Wanda, your pics look like mine!
Dana, glad your venture out was uneventful.
Norma, yep, hate not having my papers---but no point hiking out when they probably aren't there anyway. IF SIL comes (highly unlikely) will let him check for them.
Margy was to work 6pm-6am.....haven't heard her on the scanner since 6, but she MAY still be there doing admin-type work if someone else couldn't make it in.
So glad that Cinnie can go out into kennel w/o me having to do anything---it is under the sunroom. But she did venture into yard a little ways but it was under steps so not too bad.
Saw a squirrel tunneling into snow---came up with an acorn and took it up a tree.
Guess I had better bundle up and do front deck before it gets any deeper. Thank goodness it's a dry powdery snow---sure that's the only reason power is still on and internet satellite is still up.

hedgie said...

I'll text Margy.

News came over that sources say Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson intends to support the health bill as the 60th and decisive vote.

normabyrd said...

PAULA---I thought that MARGY was taking clothes, etc--in case she had to stay over!!----Probably next to impossible for another person to get there for a while!---I hope not!---

paula eagleholic said...

I swear some of those images on the BWO cam look like eagles!

paula eagleholic said...

I put a couple of pics on my Paula's Prints blog!

MEMA JO --- GOOD NEWS!---I heard that our SEN. ROBERT C BYRD--made it there!---

Mema Jo said...

Love the avatar, Paula!
If the winds get up we are all stuck
in for awhile.
Lynn, you are probably right about NO paper delivery. It is usually around 4am when it comes - I can read the headlines online.
Christine said it was snowing in Germany also today. They were looking for the best hill for their sledding.

Mema Jo said...

Hey there, Megan! You have the day off due to the snow - No Market today!

hedgie said...

Lolly, to answer your question, phone lines should be okay unless a wreck takes down pole and wires. Worst thing here with electric is transformers shorting out.
Text sent to Margy.

Mema Jo said...

There really are eagles at BWO, Paula.
Their white heads are a dead giveaway.

paula eagleholic said...

Great pics, Wanda!

hedgie said...

Yep, Jo, guess I will check online for headlines. Mine usually comes around 4, too.

Okay, Margy is home. Puter pokey. Checking messages and will blog soon.

paula eagleholic said...

You're right Jo, can see the beak on the one on the right now.

hedgie said...

Your pics are good, too, Paula!
Will go crank up PC and put a couple of mine on, too.

paula eagleholic said...

Thanks, Lynn. Glad to know Margy is home!

They were snatching up snow sledding devices like crazy at Walmart last night. John is looking forward to taking the boys out in the snow today!

Good Morning Eagle Pals ☺

Thought I would never make it here, computer stopped at 2:43 this morning and it takes FOREVER for things to open up...Wanted to check through and make sure everyone was secure in their roosts...seems like they are.
Whew! A relief.
Thanks for your concerns, and thanks for the text message Lynn.

When I could finally open a few cams, I too thought there were blurry eagles at BWO Paula...

magpie said...

I stayed until about 7 finishing up some work, then once the car was cleaned off and I got into it, I dragged almost as much snow into it.
Did a 180 on the last street to home, but other than that no problems.

It's really a mess outside and it's going to get worse. It's pretty, but a problem.

glad you are home, Margy...our Washington comPost was a little late but made it....hubby cleared some of the driveway....we have to drive up a an incline to get out....will be so happy to move out of a house into a condo, when he retires:)

Mema Jo said...

Sissy - someone mentioned it would be great if we all could send a card to Granny Riffe maybe to get her perked up a bit. Do you want to post the Rehab address? OR could we mail c/o to you so you and Tom could take them to her.
What would you want us to do?

Costume Lady said...

Thanks Lynn for report on MARGY!
MARGY, PLEASE CHECK IN WITH US DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER! BAD GIRL!

OH, I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM MY GIRLS! BAD, BAD, GIRLS!:):)

Tian Tian sitting out in the snow, eating bamboo:)

Mema Jo said...

Margy - are you off now for some vacation days?

paula eagleholic said...

Margy is here, Wanda!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Mema Jo, ya'll mail them to us and we will take them to her. I am afraid they will get lost otherwise. The only address I have for that place is a PO Box. And I am sure it would tickle her to death. You guys are just so very, very thoughtful! I LOVE YOU!!!

paula eagleholic said...

Split is coming!

magpie said...

My paper was on the porch when I got home...buried under some snow though

I could get called back in, one co-worker stayed but there really aren't any sleeping arrangements there! Woof! Needs to be.
So I 'll save you all some blog space, and head to pillows for awhile, then get back out to clean off the car again I guess.

Everyone please, I know you will stay at home if you can...
Prayers for safety for everyone in the midst of this. Weather Service hit it right on the head with the predictions.
xox Later, Precious Pals xox ♥
