Norma---have never had a doctor even mention it to me. But.....since I would NEVER be able to drink that junk, it ain't gonna happen! No biggie---no problems, no family history, and the lungs will get me first anyway!

magpie said...

The Southern Delegation's week-end travels sounded Great, Sharon and Sissy ! ♥

magpie said...

Well it's nice he's relaxing..guess he knows better than to do housework

paula eagleholic said...

Cool, Lib is still hanging out.

Lynne2 said...

Back from the madness of the Walmart Christmas Crazies!
Looks like we are gonna have cloudy showery weather all week. It's going to mess up viewing of the ISS/Atlanits.
For my colonoscopy I am taking pills the day before. They asked if I wanted liquid and I said NO THANK YOU. Rather swallow 32 pills that drink 4 litres of anything!

paula eagleholic said...

You're welcome, Margy!

hedgie said...

Forgot to tell you....I was up very early this AM for a little while and got the eagle pic form NWF mag posted on my blog!! Take a look!!!

hedgie said...

Some guy on news said that only 8% of people do Christmas shopping online....seems low! for me, it's the only way to go since I hate going shopping!

Mits said...

that does seem low...I don't go to mall and less I positively have to go

hedgie said...

Amen, Lynne. You're the lucky one! Have heard that the guy here---only gastroenterologist in town---won't let patients use pills.
I would swallow the camera pill, too!

Mits said...

hubby did pills last time....doesn't matter to me I don't have a hard time with the prep...have had 3 colonoscopies and 2 endoscopes

Ms Bookworm said...

Good Morning, Everyone!
Not caught up on the blog--have we heard from Shirley yet? Have been thinking about her all morning.
Have a bunch of errands to do, so gotta go get ready to go.
Hope you all have a good day today, even though it's the dreaded Monday.
Hope you guys have tolerable weather. It's not so cold here this morning, and supposed to get to 76 degrees later. Tomorrow thru Thursday, supposed to be about 80 degrees! Go figure.
Well, need to get cleaned up and hit the road running. Take care, and I'll be back to say hi later.
:o]

hedgie said...

Gee, Mits, sounds like a cool place! Bet you'll get the full membership!!
Lunch over...back to sunroom windows.

stronghunter said...

Hi, I am back home with a diagnosis and a prescription. I should be feeling better soon. Supposed to see doctor next week.

Poor Kathryn. Hunter woke up in the middle of the night with an ear ache. Tom took Hunter to the doctor and Kathryn took me. Kathryn spent the morning on her phone coordinating everything with Tom, Hunter, the school, and the doc. She's headed home to take care of the situation there.

For my first meal, Kathryn and I stopped at Sonic. She was starving because she had not eaten anything. I had a chicken wrap.

George just came to sniff me and make sure I am okay. He curled nearby all morning watching me until I left.

I am going to go take a nap. Will talk to you later. Thanks for the kindness and the concern.

paula eagleholic said...

Shirley, sounds like a positive outcome. Get some rest!

Mema Jo said...

I have returned - Lots of turkeys on the PIX PA woods.

Was up west of here - not many leaves left on the trees! It is raining now.

paula eagleholic said...

It is chilly and wet outside...yuck!

hedgie said...

Shirley, glad it is all BEHIND you!
Hope the diagnosis is easily treated. Have a nice nap. We will see you later.

Mema Jo said...

I am happy to see your comments Shirley. I am sure you are resting now like in a deep deep sleep!

Hope you awaken and go ahead and call in for another day off!

Mema Jo said...

Hey Lynn - no leaf blowing today! Yeah!

Mits said...

raining at sidney nest...eagle still there...

Mema Jo said...

Mits - please keep us posted on the USeeWildlife camera you get to view.

I have the feeder and the field and I swear it looks like a bear out at the tree but I think it is just a big black glob............

Mits said...

there are 8 cams to view...have kept mine mainly on the eagle...lots of bucks earlier on other cams

Costume Lady said...

Lynn, I can't believe you said that AGAIN!

Mits said...

Jo, just do the 3 day offer, they don't ask for any money up front

Mema Jo said...

OK Will Do!

I picked up on that Wanda but just kept
quiet! lol

Mits said...

lol...Lynn

Costume Lady said...

I wonder if you can substitute G & T in the place of the yucky stuff that you have to drink to clean your innerds out? Ha, Ha...with the amount of liquid you have to drink, you would be so drunk they wouldn't have to put you to sleep. That would be killing two birds with one bottle...er, I mean stone:)

Mits said...

not to mention the lime would be very beneficial for you

hedgie said...

Ha, Wanda, don't think it would clean out very good, tho'!
Nope, Jo, no leaves today!!! WhooHoo!
WINDOWS! Sunroom only has 24!!! Can only do 8 a day----hard on the shoulders!

Costume Lady said...

Oh, yeah, I forgot about the vitamin c from the lime;)

Costume Lady said...

Lynn, how about swallowing those 3 pills with a couple of G & Ts. Think that would work?
I know I should have that done, but I absolutely cannot diring that much in such a short about of time. Even Gene couldn't drink the very last cup of his yuck.

Lynne2 said...

OK, I have caved and I am now listening to Christmas music while I clean. Swore I wouldn't til the 1st of Dec. I have NO will power. LOL!

Shirley glad you are home and resting and will be back on track soon.

Back to Christmas Dancing with the MOP.

Costume Lady said...

Typos above looks like I've already had a G&T;)

Costume Lady said...

What dance would that be Lynne?

Lynne2 said...

Sort of a walz/chicken dance combo looking thing....LOL! I lead, of course!

Lynne2 said...

we're getting ready for Dancing With the Stars! Best thing about dancing with a mop is....no stepping on it's feet!! (sorry, I'll be like this all through the holiday season!)

Lynne2 said...

fa la la la la lalalala :)

hedgie said...

Yea, me! 11 done...whew....keep in mind, these are not small windows! 3 of them are, but the rest are like 5'x2'
and many require moving furniture to get to!

paula eagleholic said...

Can't get the hummer cam...

T-Bird said...

Hello my fine eagle momsters and dadsters.

hedgie said...

Hi, Thelma! Are you in Bedford or Bluefield??

T-Bird said...

I'm in Bedford until Wed. evening.

hedgie said...

Too bad you had to work, huh? But glad you get to go"home" for TG!

hedgie said...

Did You Know........the Air and Space Museum is THE MOST VISITED museum in the WORLD????

T-Bird said...

How are you today Hedgie?

hedgie said...

I'm good, Thelma, thanks!

Costume Lady said...

Hi, Thelma. Are you and Sharon going to Bluefield for Thanksgiving?

Costume Lady said...

I wonder if Lynne2 is still dancing with the mop and singing Christmas carols?

Lynne2 said...

Dean is on singing I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm! Retired the mop, on to the vacuum!

Lynne2 said...

Lynn...good job on all those windows! Hope it isn't raining there!

T-Bird said...

Yes Wanda, we are leaving after work on Wednesday.

Costume Lady said...

Who is doing the cooking....do you all pitch in? Who does the turkey?

paula eagleholic said...

That's the best way to get housework done...put on the music and boogie!

Heading out to grocery store and then home!

Costume Lady said...

I do the turkey the night before Thanksgiving and cut it up in slices, pour broth over all of it and by dinner time, the turkey is moist and tender.

magpie said...

I agree with you Paula....and yay, for me - no upstairs neighbors to worry about !

If anyone calls 9-1-1, the officers will see my blue outside porch light (symbolic of respect for law enforcement) maybe they will just come in and help out ! ☺
Safe travels to anyone going out on the wet roads we have in this part of the US
xo ☺

magpie said...

Oh Paula....sorry I couldn't tell you in advance... rain or no rain, grocery stores are pretty crowded, but well-staffed also.
Parking lot is the problem !

magpie said...

Lynne2 mentioned, this weather is certainly going to mess with our otherwise predicted to be stellar ISS-Atlantis views in the evenings.
Can't see Moonie kissing Jupiter tonight either !

but if anyone has clear skies, be on the alert for these things ☺

magpie said...

MIts if you are here or there, I saw a nice pick up truck today with this on the side:

Made in the Shade

they do landscaping !

magpie said...

Oh, T-Bird, I think you will be sharing the highway with lots of travelers Wednesday, glad you will have company...how about all the dogs?

magpie said...

Will be nice to hear from our Shirley....

magpie said...

Hedgie
you better not be working too hard !

Costume Lady said...

Hope she is sleeping peacefully, know she hasn't for a few nights.

magpie said...

Just bought my Christmas present for myself. Oh boy, four new tires :(
Now all I need is a back glass with defroster, and No one else gets any presents.
But I have cards and stamps ☺

Have some things to do, hope I didn't chase anyone away.

TTFN xo ☺ ♥

Lynne2 said...

Margy, didn't know blue porch light was a symbol for law enforcement!

Better get dinner started...

magpie said...

When I retire, I am going to really investigate the USeeWildlife cam that all the dialogue on here has my heart pace quickening about

Yay, Jo saw turkeys at PIX Pa - that was my earlier avatar (though the picture was from Feb 09 )

magpie said...

Lynne - folks used to do it just at Christmas time I think, I have it on ALL the time...not sure about its origin, will try to find out more and post later.
Enjoy dinner...I need to do that too.
xo

magpie said...

It is getting more difficult to find the bulbs though, they are called "Party Bulbs" - 25 watters

Mits said...

ditto on the grocery store, Margy...I went after 4, crowded but in and out in a flash...cool sign on the truck..should get that for my license plate

magpie said...

If I see it again Mits, I will grab a picture...shoulda done that earlier

Mits said...

I have enjoyed watching the USeeWildlife.com, Margy...if I get the membership, I would probably spend most of my time on the Birdpoint cam....adult eagle, juvie, ducks, swan, doves all made an appearance this afternoon, now I hear owls and eagles, and a dog barking , in the background.

Lynne2 said...

Thanks Margy! I just saw blue "Party Bulbs" today at Home Depo!

BBL

magpie said...

Okay our home page for cam says we have 98 comments and this looks like #102 - - should I be worried?

Mits said...

don't know the answer to that one, Margy

magpie said...

Helen -
I was watching yours, Jo's and some others Sunday when James was here...I really wanted to open up USee then, but had to restrain myself....will definitely do it before next visit...but I am just sure I am going to get lost in it...

hedgie said...

Lynne, I only do the inside!!! I pay SIL's bro to do the outside! Yes, still raining here. Not overdoing, Margy---taking my time.
Blue was always my dad's favorite color for Christmas lights! I found a very old string last year in the bottom of a box....was going to put them on holly bush----they didn't work, tho'---so, so much for that idea!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I am going to answer the question about who cooks what for Thanksgiving dinner. Sissy cooks everything except maybe the mac and cheese and my sister-in-law brings it! I am really good at eating it though.

magpie said...

Okay, Sharon, that's the Spirit!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Is there something in our nest?

magpie said...

probably wet leaves from noontime visit !

stronghunter said...

Good evening. I woke up a little while ago. Slept a bit in the recliner and then crawled into the bed. I think I will be able to sleep tonight, though. Still feel groggy.

Kathryn and her crew are on the way to a scout meeting. Hunter is doing well.

I am going to tell the people at school I won't be there. It would be nice to get some energy back tomorrow.

hedgie said...

I have lost my butterknife! Have looked EVERYWHERE! Only possible place left is back behind the drawers, and I can't get them out! Guess it will have to wait til Mr. Bill comes back from hunting camp Fri.

magpie said...

All right Shirley! Great decision....rest is so important, and restorative...
Good to hear from you....

magpie said...

Glad to hear Hunter is on the mend too...☺

hedgie said...

That would be a very appropriate license plate for you, Mits!!!

magpie said...

you could try a little prayer to Saint Anthony, patron saint of lost things, Lynn...I'll say one right now for your lost butterknife...

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I love St. Anthony!

stronghunter said...

Yes, Lynn, I am glad it is behind me, too. You are just too cute.

Thanks for the concern, guys. I feel better just knowing and knowing there is a treatment.

hedgie said...

Shirley, glad you are okay, and that Hunter is, too!
Have missed Ceil today...........hope she's okay after her busy Sunday!

Mits said...

Dear St Anthony,
Please come down, there is something that is lost and cannot be found:)

Mits said...

yeah Sharon , he sure has found some things for you, now and then.

stronghunter said...

Kathryn had taken Hunter to school up until his appointment time, but the doctor said to keep him out the rest of the day in case he had more pain. I think she had just taken him there because she needed to be with me and Tom was on the way back from Richmond to get him. He wasn't there for long.

hedgie said...

Thanks, Margy. Hope it works!!

stronghunter said...

Think I will crawl back into bed and watch tv. See you later.

Good night, in case I don't make it back.

magpie said...

...and I had forgotten that little poem that Mits just posted, that is Great !

Hey, I was happy to find that Dannon has returned its Coffee yogurt and Apple Cinnamon yogurt to the market at least around here, cause I haven't seen those two flavors for awhile!

magpie said...

They used to have a Banana yogurt, just banana that was tops, and also Prune Whip - which believe it or not was really great too.
Now there is something kind of like in the Activia product.

okay see you later Shirley....rest in the comfort once again of our prayers...please...♥

Mema Jo said...

I see that no one has found Ceil yet.
Margy that is some gift you gave yourself! It's the simple things in life that count!...

Cow and calf on the Moose cam.

Mema Jo said...

I'm just guessing that it is a cow/calf but they both look about the same size......

Lolly said...

Hi all! Have briefly scanned the blog. Had my first laugh for the day.....glad it is BEHIND you Shirley. I needed that laugh! But seriously, Shirley, I do hope your problem has been diagnosed and you are on the mend.

Let me tell you my problem.....I was cleaning house, had the music on, having a good day, when......
while cleaning my wine glass hanging rack the whole thing fell!!!! All, but three glasses, shattered. Glass on the table, the carpet, the bar, the shelves, the tile in the kitchen. It was awful!!! I cried!!! Jack was home and promptly started cleaning and upset at my crying. It ruined my day!! Jack went out, after cleaning and bought new glasses for the rack. I guess my crying was ridiculous, but it jus happened. Our GOOD wine glasses are not kept on that rack.

The house is clean and tomorrow I start cooking. Actually, I will probably start tonight. Think I will bake the cornbread for the dressing tonight,

I cook the turkey....and everything. Laurel will prepare the green bean dish, but I supply the ingredients. Michael brings the wine,(Ashley does not cook, Laurel can not afford to cook) Oh well...they will all be here.

hedgie said...

That's a neat little ditty to remember, Mits! Thank you. Will have to tell my girls---they are always losing something and I tell them "it has to be somewhere; it didn't just up and walk away"!!!!!

magpie said...

Ruh Roh - just went to refresh black cam screen,
SERVICE UNAVAILABLE

figured something was going on...

Jo, good tires are like good shoes I guess...plus, when I have precious cargo I want to be safe ☺

magpie said...

Andrea

well, I would have cried too!
sometimes we are strung tight as a piano wire and just about anything can make us go BOING

I'm sorry....glad you had some help getting it cleaned up though...and some replacements

Mits said...

glad you were not hit by glass, Lolly..

magpie said...

Oh well, now it is okay here too, Mits, what did you do, say a little prayer for me ♪ ♫

and the comments showing right number too also.

just a quirk I guess...thought I was in the penalty box cause I am supposed to be cleaning house

magpie said...

Gee Golly I am not right!

SORRY LOLLY - I SEE IT WAS YOU AFTER REREADING AND SEEING JACK, LAURAL AND OTHER FAMILIAR NAMES.

I BETTER STEP AWAY....

Glad you were not hurt, and someday, men will understand why we cry when we do....some day far in the future.

See you all later, I have chicken cooking

magpie said...

Laurel that is...

magpie said...

Boinged myself

Lolly said...

Thank you, Margy!! Love you! I was thankful I had shoes on. Jack seemed to think there were underlying reasons for the tears. NO! However, I am upset about another situation with Gina and Gus. Will not go into that...however, tonight say a prayer for Gus and ,well, for Gina, too. That girl has problems and it IS affecting me.

Lolly said...

My house is VERY clean. I did the kind of cleaning today that included ceiling fan blades, and light fixtures. lol You know, the kind of cleaning you do not do every week. Or, do you??? Not me!

Lolly said...

Going to go make hanburger patties. Jack has already fried some bacon ....yum!

And tonight...the last week of Dancing with the Stars.

BBL

magpie said...

yes of course Lolly...prayers...
(( hugs )) to you and Jack..actually I know a lot of our Dadsters are very compassionate, did not mean to make a general statement that probably is mostly untrue here...I do apologize...

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
Glad to see that Shirley has made it back home OK and is resting comfortably. REALLY glad, Shirley, that you've decided to take tomorrow off, too. Sounds like you need to rest up for a while, and have been pushing yourself too hard. Been there, done that myself, but have learned that it eventually catches up with you. Best to rest when your body tells you that you need it! Hope George is feeling better now that you are back home.
Hubby went and got his pacemaker stitches out today, and I must say, I am impressed. The scar is the tiniest, almost invisible line! The big clear adhesive patch they put over it really did the job--wonderful stuff! He was able to shower as usual, just being careful not to scrub hard there, and to pat it dry, not rub. Totally healed now, and bet the scar will disappear in a year or so! Amazing.

ceil said...

I'm here just been really busy. Bazaar was great. Don't know how much they made yet. Went shopping today and trying to clean the house.
Lolly Jim broke one of my Waterford goblets a few weeks ago.
Shirley glad the procedure is over and hope the medicine works fast.
While I was shopping today I was in the card store Christmas music playing. The cashier and I are singing. When I came out a woman was walking toward me that look just like Deb. I was not going to tell you guys because I know you will cry again as I did. Has anyone ever had that experience. I have had it when people close to me have died.

magpie said...

Ceil, good to hear from you.
I look a LOT like my sister Kathy who died almost two years ago, more people know her than know me, so one time a lady at the grocery store saw me and thought I was Kathy.
She came up to me and told me about it. We both cried.
I'm glad you saw a beautiful woman today ♥

Judie said...

Hello everyone,

Had a long and busy day.

Shirley, don't know exactly what the diagnosis is but you are in my prayers, whether you need them or not. Sleep well and wake refreshed.

Lolly, so glad you found a way to get a whole new set of glassware. Cool move! Seriously, so glad you weren't cut.

I'm off to sleep early tonight. Will be going to school tomorrow to hold office hours for those students who are still around and want help.

So, I may get back later but just in case: turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Andrea, please set the alarm system later tonight.

Eagle dreams for all.
Judie

Ms Bookworm said...

Lolly,
I'm really glad no one was hurt by broken glass when the rack went flying. That was really nice of Jack to go get replacement wine glasses! Prayers being said for Gus, Gina, and for you!
Prayers that Hunter's earache goes away really quickly, too! Forgot to mention that before, Shirley--sorry about that!
Lord, since nothing and no one is lost to you, please show Lynn where the missing butter knife is. Thank you, Lord!

Lynne2 said...

Oh Ceil, that's really something. I've had that happen.

Shirley, hope you are resting, and I hope George is feeling better now.

Judie, bet your hubby is glad to have those itchy stitches out!

Lolly, I'm sorry that a situation with Gus and Gina is upsetting you. Prayers of course and I hope it resolves soon. Glad you didn't get hurt by the broken glass!

Lynn...can't find the lid to my blender...if it's with your butter knife let me know!

Turning in early...sweet dreams and prayers for everyone, see you tomorrow!

hedgie said...

Oh, Lolly, I can completely sympathize with how upset you got. But sure glad it didn't fall on YOU!!! The glasses were easily replaced! What happened to cause it to fall?????
Explanation please...(if not too personal)....why can't Laurel afford to cook? Don't understand!
Maybe you should give Ashley lessons!! Do they eat out all the time, or does she have a cook?

ceil said...

I think I will go watch tv. Got some good buys today.
Pleasant dreams to all.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Judie,
Glad to hear from you! I'll be back later tonight to set the alarm.
Ceil, what a wonderful experience!
I believe Deb will surprise some of us occasionally, just so we know she's watching from above.
I've had that sort of thing happen a few times with ones I was close to, also.
Sometimes they turn up in photos we've taken, and once my late father-in-law turned up in a picture in the newspaper. Veeerrrry interesting! Will BBL tonight--dinner's almost ready. :o]

Judie said...

Wonder if the butter knife and the blender lid are with Gene who is with Lolly who are on their way to Shirley's recliner with a bag of pecans going by way of Wanda and Jack's place? Think George will rat them all out to us?

Mits said...

night Ceil:)

hedgie said...

Lolly, don't know what's going on with Gus anc Gina now, but you are not responsible, so you must just "Let go and let God." Please don't let it work on you, your health or your spirit!
Ceil, you are such a busy gal!! Understand what you all mean about seeing someone who looks so much like a gone loved one.......have had it happen more than once. Sad, but almost angelic, too.
Night, Judie! Bet you will have lonely office hours tomorrow!!!

hedgie said...

Oh, Judie....love your positing!!

Evening Everyone. Been busy today writing some snail mail, starting to clean house. Hope to finish house tomorrow and make my Mom's recipe for pumpkin chiffon pies.
Gotta work Weds. BTW, I found pumpkin in cans Sat. at Safeway. However, they're huge cans, but I am making 2 pies, so have plenty maybe from 1 can.
Shirley, glad your ordeal is over and you're resting. Good that you stay home tomorrow.
Lolly, prayers for your Gus situation.
Lynn, hope you'll find your butter knife! I hope I don't lose anything and all the animals are fine~~~am wearing Sts. Anthony & Francis medals!
Gonna watch last show of Jon & Kate.

Mema Jo said...

I got caught up in some phone calls from the girls and then I was opening the videos of the Germany ggd...

I really don't have any shows on TV this evening.

I need to read the last few comments..

hedgie said...

Loretta, one lg. can of pumpkin is enough for 2 pies! Glad you found enough.

Mema Jo said...

I wonder if I am going to find a 1 lb can for my pumpkin cake.....

I see we have a message from Delphia
Hope she is doing ok

Shirley - so glad the procedure went well and that you are on the mend!
George is thankful too!

paula eagleholic said...

Well, I am finally here....my cable to my modem crapped out...been on the phone with Verizon for an hour and 15 minutes...had to switch to a different type of cable...finally back online. At least I could see some of DWTS while I was on the phone!

Mema Jo said...

Lolly - did you slam a door to make the wine rack fall and shatter all those glasses.... I know I would have done the same thing as you did - OR I would have just walked away from it for a while. That clean up of glass is as bad as a water mess to clean up...
I sure will remember Gus and his mom as well as YOU in my prayers.

Mema Jo said...

I do panic when something like that happens, Paula. Talk about a lifeline!

paula eagleholic said...

I couldn't find a one pound can...had to settle for almost a two pound can...plenty of them at my local grocery store!

paula eagleholic said...

I'm not making a pumpkin pie...although I should! I only need one cup...I am making at pumpkin swirl cheesecake per DIL request.

Mema Jo said...

I'll make the Pumpkin Cake with Cream Cheese icing.. GD is bringing the pies.

Lolly said...

Back from supper! You all are too kind! I had taken all the glasses down to wash them. Then took the rack down and cleaned it. Hung it back up, had it mostly loaded when one end came loose. Apparently, in cleaning the rack, I dislodged part of the chain. Wine glasses EXPLODE!!!!!! Oh well, it is over!

Ceil, I have a friend who died approx 2 years ago. I keep seeing her everywhere. My first thought is always "there is Navae!", then have to remind myself, no, can not be her.

Laurel's hubby, is trying to get his own insurance company going. It has been very hard. He has made some wrong decisions and they are committed to expenses they can not afford. They have to stretch every penny and then it not always enough. I buy the boys their clothes. Laurel does an excellent job. Very proud of her.

I will NOT go into Gina and Gus! Let it be that she is in dire trouble, is trying to work on my sympathies, but I am NOT going to fall for any of her tactics. I am not going to sacrifice my family time for her. Amen!!!!

Mema Jo said...

Lolly I just had a conflicting comment but it published..... How about that - tricky!

magpie said...

someone at work is making pumpkin gooey cake, never heard of it but I have a feeling it will bring down the house!

Glad you got back online Paula, what a precious amount of time to have to fuss with it!

Is the video, very very cute Jo?
Does anyone say I SAY CHEESE in it?
xo
Nice to see everyone...

magpie said...

it wasn't me!

Lolly - children....such a joy, and such a heartache, sadness...seems sometimes can't have one without the other.
but we know WHO is paying attention and watching out for the little ones

It just may have been you -!

That's the right attitude, Lolly! Gotta take care of you and yours before you worry about the outsiders!
So sorry about Laurel and her situation....so hard I know. I and my youngest daughter buy the clothes for my eldests' girls......her hubby is disabled, and things are SO tight for them. They took bankruptcy for the second time about three yrs. ago.

Gravy - don't know what I would do without McCormick! My grandmother always did the gravy-then my mom did - now my dil does the gravy from scratch!

After my mother died (Dad died four years earlier) I would drive and turn onto the road that went to the nursing home without thinking....it was such a tradition...

Well, I used Swansons Chicken Broth too, which turned out to be a pretty good idea. I am not much of a cook. Short order mostly. But I can cook a mean Beef You Know What !

DIL is having Tgiving at her house...I am bringing pumpkin cheesecake, green bean casserole, and my Mom's homemade rolls ♥

..and then there's Goodwill...
comes in handy for me

Hoping that all things go well this evening and look MUCH BETTER in the morning.

I'm gravitating towards the pillows, going to get a fresh new start in the morning.
Prayers, prayers, and more prayers.

God Bless Us, Every One
xo ☺ ♥

Night Margy, and anyone else I missed or will miss!

Years after my mom passed I would still find myself going towards the phone as I always called her every evening. When you do something like that it takes your breath away for a moment!

Well, here is my schedule.

Tomorrow....cook fresh cranberries, make cornbread. Prepare refrigerator yeast rolls, prepare the sweet potatoes, and the mashed potatoes.

Wed. cook giblets for dressing and make dressing, back an apple pie, pumpkin pie, and maybe a choc. peanut butter pie. (Jack is cooking supper as Laurel and family will be here!)
Thursday...turkey into the oven, bake the dressing, make the rolls and let rise, and of course...make the gravy. Laurel will make the green bean casserole.

Everyone else gets to CLEAN UP! Lolly collapses! lol

Jo, I think earlier we posted at the same time. When I scrolled down to see my post....surprise, yours was the last post.

Mema Jo said...

Yes Lolly our timing worked out very well

I don't know for sure what we are going to do for Thanksgiving. The other evening, when I felt so bummed out and went to the store to buy myself something...I went to the grocery store and bought fixings for the T-Day dinner. I knew that Karla and her family were going to Outer Banks for the holiday, but just found out that they are taking Denise too! So now, it is just me, Gene and GG.
We may go to a nice restaurant, if GG is up to it???

Lolly you are going to have a very busy cooking time but it is one of those Acts of Love that a mother does
best.

Mema Jo said...

I am headed back the hallway to get myself ready for bed........
I'll be back before I sign off.......

Lolly Why aren't you watching Castle?

Costume Lady said...

Hey, Lolly...I like that last part of your schedule! Jack is a jewel for doing the cooking...I think he is a Keeper:)

Lolly said...

Jo, I called my mother every night. We were 500 miles apart. I still sometimes think of her in the evening when I have something I want to tell her...like broken wine glasses. ☺

Mema Jo said...

Wanda - Maybe you should just jump into the Eagle Express with Gee Gee and head south for the Outer Banks!

Lolly said...

Oh, yeah! He is definitely a keeper!

Costume Lady said...

JUDIE...I love your sense of humor;) So glad you and Shirley are a part of us now! You are both Keepers!

Well, I'll be roasting a breast on Weds. so that I'll have turkey for sandwiches and I'll make MY gravy for leftovers---my family does a milk turkey gravy. Will make the dressing Weds., too, and then bake it Th. AM before leaving here at 11. If I luck out and get more pumpkin at the store tomorrow, I'll do pies Weds. so that Christie and I will each have one for AFTER her MIL's dinner! If not, will just keep what I have for Christmas and eat pumpkin cheesecake that I have in freezer instead.

Jo, do we get to see the Germany video. Did Izzy say "I say cheese" on the video. What a cutie she is:)

Well, I had 2 more videos to watch today. Unreal at what treasures I have found! Love watching my 2-year-old sing Friends in Low Places and Achy Breaky Heart! So precious!

Lolly said...

Oh, I watched DWTS, then the new program about adopted children finding their families,(I cried) and now I AM watching Castle. I am WOMAN, I can multi-task! lol

My brother is going to put them on DVDs for me so hopefully I can upload parts of each one to youtube or something. This stuff is too good not to share with you all if I can!

GeeGee always made pumpking pies and fresh fruit salad for T-Dinner, after I started doing the cooking. Lord, please don't let her try that this year. Maybe she will go to Martins at 4am and buy a pie already made up:) Her fruit salad was always the best ever. She used ALL FRESH fruit...black cherries, pineapple, blueberries, peaches, oranges, Kiwi, honeydew, and whatever else she could find that was in the produce section.
So good...took a long time to make.
