Morning all! Happy Thanksgiving again.

Didn't mention that I enjoyed Jack Hanna on Larry King last night. He had a bald eagle and a variety of other critters. Lynn, you would have had to look out for the tarantula--not my favorite, either. I was talking with Rus at the time, so did not catch everything.

Rus was pretty shocked at the people who crashed the White House party. He experienced their security when he worked there. He has said you just don't wander around that place. Not good for your health. Obviously, there are some serious gaps.

stronghunter said...

Thanks, Steve, for the new thread, and thanks, Margy for the call-over.

Happy Turkey Day!!

paula eagleholic said...

Judie - I fell asleep trying to watch Larry King at Midnight! Missed the bald eagle. Was it one from the National Eagle Center?

paula eagleholic said...

Neat foggy view at BWO

paula eagleholic said...

OK, that comment was for Shirley!

stronghunter said...

Not sure, Paula. I was talking with Rus while I was watching. Maybe they will run that episode over the weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving again.

From old thread:

LOL,
Mits and Ceil...that Annie is one spunky gal to be up to having all the families in so soon after having a new baby!!

Wanda, stay out of that moonshine!!

Just heard an interesting--as in strange!--ambulance call. Someone in the ER waiting room with chest pain...I was like WHAT????? Turns out the patient wants to go to the VA Medical Center!

Shoot----missed Larry King show. Maybe they'll repeat it Sat. or Sun.!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING...
Everything is all ready to transport to GeeGee's. Didn't have any instant potatoes, so had to make from scratch. couldn't find my mixer (I don't even know if I have one), so we are having lumpy potatoes. Gene says that the bits of turkey that I put in the gravy will disguise the lumps:)
Need a bath and then we are on our way.
Love each and everyone of you...have a wonderful day. See you tonight, if the turkey doesn't put me to sleep;)

Mits said...

Wanda, you should try the Bob Evans mashed potatoes...nice and creamy and smooth:)

Mits said...

and ready in the microwave in 5 minutes

Costume Lady said...

Thanks, Helen...will try them at Christmas. I hate making mashed potatoes...haven't done them in years. Karla always brings the potatoes, BUT she's at the OBX:(
Spending this holiday with her inlaws:)

Good Morning/Afternoon, Everyone!

HAPPY, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Running around like crazy this morning, but just wanted to stop in and say 'Howdy'!

Steve, thanks for the new thread. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and a nice weekend!

Looks like most of you back east have already hit the road running.
Prayers for safe traveling!

I've got a lot of stuff going on right now, so will say 'bye' until later. Have a blessed day, and I'll talk to you tonight. :o]

Mits said...

off to get dressed ...talk to you all later....:)

Been wondering where the pretty little quilt for one of my spare bedrooms was. Just found out it had made its way to Will's lair along with the nice new fluffy blanket that disappeared from the family room a couple of weeks ago.

His comforter got covered with wood splinters when they put in the new floor, and he can't clean it in my washer because it is too big. So my new floor caused the disappearance of the quilt and blanket.

Sounds busy everywhere!

Judie said...

What a terrific Thanksgiving treat! Diego is toddling around the entrance/exit of the den doing some investigating. Curiosity galore.

stronghunter said...

How cute, Judie!

When I checked, he was crashed.

Hope you are enjoying your Thanksgiving.

Mine starts at 4. Nearly time to go.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi!
I'm just about to make the turkey stuffing. Once that's in the bird and it's all in the oven, I'll have a while to sit & watch old movies on TV. Got everything vacuumed and dusted this morning. Need to wash a couple of our "turkey" dishes and set the table. They're 'Wild Turkeys' by Johnson Brothers. Have a huge turkey platter that matches. When Hubby & I were just married, his Grandma Young packed the set of 12 up in newspaper in a not-too-sturdy cardboard box and sent it to us--PA to CA--on a Greyhound bus! Not one piece got chipped or broken! Talk about miraculous! Well, better go do the stuffing. Back later--enjoy your dinner! :o]

Good Thanksgiving Afternoon, my Eagle Pals.

Night light is coming on early at the nest....darkness looms.

Have read everyone's reports...my goodness, I am exhausted !

I would have shared my mixer with Wanda, in exchange for that Deet Liver...so lovingly processed by the Captain....
I made smashed potatoes myself, polled my co-workers who say they like a few lumps.

Got a pile to stuff to load into the car....and will be heading to work soon.

It's a True and Blessed Treasure, to have you all as my Eagle Pals.

xo ☺ ♥

Lynne - I am sorry you could not view ISS and Atlantis Wednesday, but you are right, Friday night - could be pretty good....high in the sky again like last night...sounds like you have gotten hooked just like the rest of us ☺
...and we have our Moon and Jupiter to look forward to.
Soon, Megan will give us the name for the upcoming Full Moon ☺

floralgirl said...

Well, remember we will have two full moons in December- on Dec. 2, the snow moon or winter moon or even beaver moon, and Dec. 31st, the 'blue moon'.

magpie said...

Thank you Megan!

I think our Royal Pair are out looking for some fresh turkey ☺

I had a pile of Canada Geese fly over about 20 mins ago....probably at least 100 - heading South but I think they are local. They were doing their best to get lined up in V's but weren't doing a very good job of it.

I am headed to work now...have yellow on for tonight, and a red blouse to put on at Midnight.

Tomorrow might be Black Friday, but it is always RED FRIDAY in our Hearts ♥

Take Care, I love you...

God Bless Us, Every One

Good evening all.

Once again, we have sad news to share.

Margy became that our Dana's dear husband Ed, passed away late Wednesday afternoon. He was with family through the day, including Dana's mother, Ed's sister, nephews and niece. Additional family members gathered together at the hospital.
He was transported to the hospital with breathing difficulties, and failed to survive. The ambulance crew attending to him included a beloved nephew and niece.
Margy reports that family was gathering through the evening, and she was unable to make direct contact by telephone but did leave a message this afternoon expressing sadness, condolence and prayers.
Funeral arrangements are not yet known at this time, but it is possible this information will appear in Friday's local newspapers.
May we all offer our deep sympathy and prayers for strength and comfort to the family. Ed's illness is over, he suffers no more, and may his loving and caring ways sustain Dana and all the family through this profound loss.
We were waiting to make actual contact with Dana before posting this information, but are understanding of how busy she must be at this time...but feel that we need to share this information with our Momsters and Dadsters, in loving concern for our Eagle Pal..."

...Margy xo

hedgie said...

Dana, dear, if you check in, please know that my deepest sympathy is with you. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. Love you, gal.

hedgie said...

My TG dinner was okay------there's really nothing as good as our own, is there??? But good company, and I sure got enough to eat!

On the way home, I am 95% sure that I saw an adult eagle! It was flying low, and despite the 4:30 duskiness and drizzle, I could clearly make out the wing edges and saw glimpses of white. I am really certain it was.....have asked Margy to ask anyone she knows at the firehall where I saw it if they have ever seen them around there before.

hedgie said...

Loretta, I got Boyle's CD, too----great. isn't it?

hedgie said...

Shuttle Atlantis is scheduled to land at 9:44AM EST Friday.

Judie said...

Dana,

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. You and and all of your family members are in my prayers.

Happy Thanksgiving to Steve and all at NCTC and all my eagle buddies (I hope I can call you that).

The meal has been over for a few hours now and Jim & I are relaxing. Jim did most of the cooking and only 1 son shared our little feast. Had to lasso him to help his dad clean up though. He's notorious for getting out of that chore. But I still love him.

Did a few of my exercises. The area under my arm and across the chest and arm continue to be quite a pain. I'm wondering if the surgeon may have pulled to many muscles or tendons to cover the aparatus. My therapists have asked for more time to get be back to ?normal? - whatever that may be; I don't remember ....

Going to have a piece of that bought pie now ... Jim's waiting for me.

... later

Dana,
I am so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. I know your heart is broken and not much can help to console you right now. Please feel free to call me if I can help with ANYTHING.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22

Contact has been made by Dana with a phone call to me and we chatted for quite a long time. My thoughts upon hearing from Margy & Lynn yesterday was that knowing Dana as I do, she wouldn't want to spoil anyone's Thanksgiving. And that is what she said this evening. She appreciates your prayers and positive thoughts. I will say that Dana & Ed had a very special love for each other and they knew each other so well. There won't be any schedule of plans until after tomorrow - concerning services and flowers. Dec 8 may be the first their daughter can
get in from Colorado. There will be a one day viewing and Ed will have on his Steelers' shirt. Ed is then to be cremated.
Dana has so many good memoris of her Ed and she appreciates them all. I think they both knew that the time had come.

Judie said...

Good night everyone. Turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others. Very sad for Dana.

Goodnight, Judie!

Both were into their education and now since receiving their Masters and have their jobs they have taken the big step.
