lions got to do what a lions got to do....natural instinct...the lions don't say, excuse me, you don't belong in here...just have a problem with the perverse pleasure of the guy that took the video and put it on U-tube..., on the news last night he said it was the nestease thing he has ever seen...to each his own....I waiting for a person to jump the fence one day to hug giant pandas, would be a big mistake
OH Bev, at least when hunting is done responsibly the animal is left to it's natural diet and natural life, living free, doing exactly what God intended until the moment someone drops it. It isn't living in a factory farm. The meat we get at the store and the milk we drink doesn't come from happy cows too often any more, trust me. It's quiet gruesome the way those animals live and die.
Bob.....love the pictures. They are fabulous! 1 and 7 are my favorites.
Good morning all! Have a busy day ahead so I will not be here. Going to Denton and taking supper. Picking Jacob up at school, my favorite thing to do. He has his Fall program tonight. So we will eat early and head to the church for the program. We will be home late. Do not do a Silver Alert.
Hello Everyone! Semper Fi to all the Marines~~~Jim! NZ incident was on TV. The deer looked ok to me & escaped the lions by jumping in the water moat. Visitors were there watching, so I'm sure that's why they didn't let nature take it's course. Deer was rescued, but they said had severe abdominal wounds. Andrea, so glad for successful pacemaker procedure for Hubby. Prayers for Granny Riffe. Gotta see Bob's pics. Know they are great!
Hubby and I slept in late this morning--felt GOOD! He's doing fine. Just wanted to share with all of you the scripture Hubby was given by the Lord a few years ago. Hubby asked the Lord to give him a scripture to stand on, because he didn't want to rely on a sometimes imperfect invention of man's (pacemaker) to keep him going. The one he was given (by just letting the Bible fall open, and reading the first thing he saw on the page) is Psalm 73:26 (KJV)--"My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever." What can I say? Case closed. Will be back later today. Got lots of studying to do for the Pharmacology final tonight. Will definitely be praying for Granny Riffe, though--AND her family! Also for Jo! And of course, Deb's family and friends. Would never forget you! Hope all is well with everyone. Talk to you later! :o] P.S.~~HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE U.S. MARINE CORPS!!! SEMPER FI! (We have a nephew who was a career Marine from age 18, and he retired a few years ago.) :o]
Andrea, so sorry I forgot to say earlier that I was releived to know that your hubby got a NEW pacer, and that it went so well---was sure he would end up having to stay overnight. Great words of the Lord....couldn't have been more appropriate! Lolly, have a fun evening!
Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine has denied clemency for sniper John Allen Muhammad, clearing the way for Muhammad's execution Tuesday night for the attacks that terrorized the nation's capital region for three weeks in 2002.
Megan - I buy a lot from BHPhoto. Maybe not as cheap but great service. Buydig is another I've had good luck with. Beach Photo has pretty good prices too.
She is in the recovery room, everything went well, be back in room in about an hour. Rehab facility in 3-5 days if everything goes well. Pinned her hip, pinned wrist. Pelvis should do fine, not displaced.
Sissy, Thanks for the update on Granny! So glad to hear she's doing well. God is good to us!
Took time to view Bob Quinn's new pictures--they are SPECTACULAR!!! Thanks, Bob, for the link.
Well, better get my booty in gear! Hubby is the Energizer Bunny today; he'll be hard to keep up with! Must study, too. Bring on the caffeine! Will check in a bit later.... Take care! :o]
No, we hope to get her in a rehab here in Bluefield or Princeton. Really depends on how aggressive of a rehab she will be able to tolerate as to where she goes but it will be here for sure. Thank God!!
Oh, thank goodness, Sissy. Was afraid the surgeon would want her close to him!! That will surely make it easier on all y'all. Hi, Jim! Happy Birthday to your Corps and your special nephew! Bet he's glad he's not as old as the Corps---LOL!
Heading out, for the grandson, we will do the Veterans things in honor of all our Veterans and there families, here and everywhere...just have to do some of it a day early Good news about Mrs. Riffe....and no time to comment on anything else, but to wish everyone well, warmth and peace...
We will be observing a minute of silence Weds. evening at 6:30PM in honor of our dear Deb. Hopefully this will coincide with prayer-time at the Celebration of Life dinner in South Dakota. Let's all imagine that we are there together, with Debs' family, joining in the spirit of life-everlasting and love that encircles her. Amen
Has anyone else ever been tempted to throw a computer out the window???? Argh....I am contemplating doing so! Have had so much trouble getting in on mail this afternoon.....
Go ahead and send the rain, Thelma....I'm ready! It will tamp down the me-blown leaves so that the wind won't blow them!!! Plus I need a day to stay IN and clean house.
Hello...We have been busy ALL DAY blowing, raking, mowing and cussing leaves. Getting too old for this kind of work! Gene wants to take Dustin to Hunt Camp this weekend (a first for Dustin), so he is trying to get 2 weeks work done in 3 days:) I had to drag him into the house...don't want that foot acting up again:(
Read today's EM email and see that some of us are confused about making a donation in honor of Deb. Too many people and organizations involved...group or individual. Has there been a suggestion of one group to receive donations and individual or group?
I am wanting to make a donation to the project that Deb worked on so lovingly for so long with Janie. Not sure which one of those addresses emailed to us is the one I'm looking for. I think Helen has that info.
Just the 2 groups, Wanda. Take your pick. Janie's organization, Birds of Prey NW, was certainly what Deb talked most about. And Janie care for Beauty, the eagle with the prosthetic beak.
Wanda I hade Jane Cantwell's name right under the BOP, and also posted she is the President and Executive Director, also posted her bio last night on this blog.... I have never heard of the other organiation...Amanda said these were the choices of the family...so anyone can send their own donation to which ever one they want
LOCALS: Maybe next week one day that Helen and sisters can come to Frederick and we know Margy's schedule and it isn't payroll day for Paula we'll set up a lunch gathering. Because then it will be Thanksgiving week with December beckoning at our doors.
We really need to get a Christmas get together scheduled like on a Saturday afternoon. We need Judie, Shirley, Loretta, Lori, Lynne and others to be able to come up to somewhere to get into the Yule Tide Spirit! Wonder if Diann could have someone bring her down - and GrannyBLT too.
Jo, that is a wonderful idea...count me in, any day, unless it snows. I am a SNOW WIMP, I don't even go to the mailbox when there is snow on the ground:)
I am being very lazy today. I finally got back to the doctor about all of the tests I had done earlier. I had been told that they were normal, but that was not so. They wanted to see me 2 weeks ago, but I didn't get the message for some reason. Symptoms have continued all of this time, and yesterday I called again and they wanted to see me today.
I now have some antibiotics. I had tried calling the doctor, but kept being connected to the nurses' station where I would usually get an answering machine or someone who did not know the story. Yesterday, the same thing happened--connected to nurses' answering machine, so I called back and insisted on an appointment.
That is when they figured out they had wanted to see me 2 weeks ago. Please keep your fingers crossed that this medicine works. If it does not, I have to have a colonoscopy. That part is not too awful (just a little awful), but I am hoping for a less complicated diagnosis. Doctor assures me that it is not cancer, but could be something else complicated.
Just stopping in before dinner...Shirley, it seems as if we have had MANY doctor problems this week! That is just terrible and I really pray everything is OK. Jo, love the idea of a get together. My new strategy is to say right off the bat that no matter what day or time that if I think I can come, there will be some problem in the way so NO I AM NOT COMING. (I am employing reverse psychology!!) Missed the big birds and keep missing peeks at the baby hummers :( Gotta fix dinner, see ya later!
I will say that I am feeling a little better about things now. It always feels better when something is being done. I wish I had known 2 weeks ago about what the lab report said and that the doctor wanted to see me immediately.
I have another appointment tomorrow. This is with the physical therapist. I hate missing so much time from work, but I have to get myself fixed.
It also feels good to have so much wonderful support from such wonderful friends. I have to settle in and put together another plan for tomorrow.
I have been lurking off and on today, trying to keep up with everying. You have done a fine job of remebering Deb and supporting Sissy and her family. I join in prayers for their families.
Hi, Gang, Well, I've been studying most of the day. Gotta go to school tonite in about an hour and a half for my Pharmacology final (Should've been tomorrow, but it's a holiday). Pray that I can remember at least something! I'm so tired I'm guzzling coffee to wake me up! Must be a leftover of yesterday's fun. Well, it's a promise in the scriptures that the Comforter will teach us all things, and bring ALL things to remembrance! (Just a quick reminder, Lord.) We ARE supposed to remind Him of His promises! Asking for you guys to pray for me again tonight. This one should be a real doozie! Gotta work on my Anatomy project when I get home, too. I think we can leave after we've finished our exam, though. Good thing! Thanks in advance, everyone! Prayers being said for everyone else's needs, too. Have a good evening, and I'll talk to you for a bit when I get home later. Thanks again! :o]
This latest one is our GGD, Sierra, who's 3 1/2, with a guinea pig she befriended at the petting zoo in San Juan Capistrano. She REALLY loves critters! I can imagine her working for Nat Geo and climbing through the rain forest looking for birds! She's fearless where bugs are concerned, too! She and our GD, Courtney, are both pretty amazing. :o]
Sierra's been an outdoor kinda gal practically since day one! When a tiny infant, if she started crying and didn't stop, all you had to do is take her outside and show her some birds. She'd stop and stare, just fascinated! Bring her back inside, and she'd start crying again! Little rascal ;o]
I couldn't believe how big that guinea pig was--but a lot of it was a really healthy coat of hair! Do think he must've been taking a lot of vitamins, though.
You know, now that I think about it, I bet Sierra would've gotten along extremely well with our Deb. I wish she could've met her--I wish I could've, too!
Well, I guess I'd better tear myself away from here and do some hair and makeup damage control. Don't want to frighten any small children on the way to school! Will come back later once I'm home again. Have a good evening! Watch NCIS for me--I've gotta set the DVR! Later....
Best Wishes, Andrea. Know you'll ace it, even tho you've had a rough few days. Sounds very interesting!!!!If I had studied, I'd take it for you!! LOL Shirley, hope your antibiotics kick in soon~~~unbelievable they wanted to see you 2 weeks ago! I've been having that same "talking to a machine & pressing a number" w/Drs and pharmacy lately.Today I tried to speak to someone about Rx refill & was on hold so long listening to music(?), I drove up there!! Was going to grocery anyway ☺
Someone mentioned Snow & I saw on news they got an early snow in Beijing!!!! Think daughter is in Shanghai, but not sure. Will have to email her!!.She is there for rest of the week. BTW I asked her what they serve for dessert & something normal!!!~~~sliced fruit, like watermelon, honeydew & Sunday when I wrote, they had passion fruit after lunch.
Loretta, you have mail! Shirley, SO glad that you are finally on track. Make sure you find out who dropped the ball and let them have a momsters' POW!! Prayers that the med will be the end of your problem. Andy, prayers for your exam "A+"!!!! Know you'll breathe a sigh of relief when done.

Andrea, so glad for successful pacemaker procedure for Hubby.
Prayers for Granny Riffe.
Gotta see Bob's pics. Know they are great!
Granny has been in surgery about 10 minutes, will come out and give update in about an hour.

Megan - I haven't personally bought from Newegg but I hear they have good prices and are reliable.
Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine has denied clemency for sniper John Allen Muhammad,
clearing the way for Muhammad's execution Tuesday night for the attacks that
terrorized the nation's capital region for three weeks in 2002.
Andrea thanks for relaying the story to us.. Amazing, isn't it! Very thankful the pacemaker is Good To Go!
Good luck on your test this evening.
Thoughts and prayers for Granny during this time....... and for Tom & all the Riffe family who are waiting!
Lunch for me...... BBL

Check your emails, gang.
Did you see that the elder two Peregrine chicks at Alcoa have flown the coop??
But they have picture of the two shortly before, and they're both sporting male names.
Trouble is the one closest to the camera has humungous feet compared to the other, which means he is probably a she... Hahaha.
That's what happens when your equipment gets in a traffic accident and you can't band your chicks.

Great News Sissy about Granny! Good Lord looking after things!
I have the email Lynn..
mama hummer's egg should be hatching any day now...
meant eggs
Paula, Glad you posted about the falcon chicks! Their feathers just didn't look ready!
Thank you for the email, Lynn.
One of the eggs has hatched at the hummer nest.
Thx for email, Lynn. Shocking.
Maybe another place for donations could be CA Society.
Amen
Sounds very good, Lynnj!
Have dinner made and ready to go to Denton.
So, we will be leaving in a few minutes.
Sissy, glad all went well with Granny Riffe.
Bye all!
TIME ADJUSTMENT!!! Make your minute of silence coincide with 6:30PM Central Time!!!! For those of us here on EST, it will be 7:30PM!!!
Yay, another hummer babe...
Hello eagle buds.
It is rainy and chilly in Bedford.
Hello T Bird - Keep that rain down
there!
I know Sharon is in Bluefield but did all her doggies go with her?
Has anyone else ever been tempted to throw a computer out the window???? Argh....I am contemplating doing so! Have had so much trouble getting in on mail this afternoon.....
Hedgie - or put a boot up its butt.
Thank goodness my answer Lynn is No.
Sounds like it is break time!
It's super time here
BBL
Paula - don't you hate going home
in the dark? When I worked that was
the worst thing about the time change!
Eagle
And then there were two :-)
EAGLES!!!!
Looks like nestorations to me
Glo, Diann and Thelma - you lucky ducks!
I see they turned on the night light!
I see Spidey's web!
But I missed Liberty and Belle!
Missed that visit while getting on PC. Netbook is shut down for the day---too frustrated to mess with it anymore!!
Go ahead and send the rain, Thelma....I'm ready! It will tamp down the me-blown leaves so that the wind won't blow them!!! Plus I need a day to stay IN and clean house.
Good early evening.
Not caught up. One whiny student after another!
Lolly, hope you have a nice time in Denton.
Andy, so very, very happy to know hubby has a new pacemaker and is already home. Hope he will be able to get a kick out of life again.
Sissy, another well wish for Granny Riffe. Hope she heals quickly and glad the rehab will be close by.
Interesting event today. Call from NPR wanting an interview regarding the impending execution. Said no.
Okay, off to the kitchen. Some comfort food tonight: meatloaf and smashed potatoes.
Judie

Janie's is the Idaho address.
I included Dianne and Pam addresses in case anyone wants to send them a card.
Judie, you could have told NPR what I think!!!!
Finished dinner
Chn 13 for me tonight for Tuesday TV
Jo, I've gotta rustle up some grub....what did you have good??
OMG---forecast changed big time----rain next three days!!
Wanda, the only saving grace about the leaf situation is that we only have to deal with it for 2 months out of 12!!!!!!!!
Wanda I hade Jane Cantwell's name right under the BOP, and also posted she is the President and Executive Director, also posted her bio last night on this blog.... I have never heard of the other organiation...Amanda said these were the choices of the family...so anyone can send their own donation to which ever one they want

Lynn - LOL You are going to have the house really clean and sparkly cause you have 3 days to do it in!
Hi Mits - Did you enjoy your day?
Thanks, Helen...don't want to make a gift to an organization that I never heard of. I wasn't sure if Jane and Janie was one and the same person.
Lynn, thank goodness we only have a few months of leaf chasing...I would have to sell my house and move into an apartment with no yard!
I just had some hamburger patties in tomato soup sauce with my smashed potatoes and green beans. Judie was having meatloaf!
she goes by Janie, but on the formal sight, they have her as Jane
yes, Jo, had a good time:)
Jo, that is a wonderful idea...count me in, any day, unless it snows. I am a SNOW WIMP, I don't even go to the mailbox when there is snow on the ground:)
It's too early for snow!!
Heading home...see ya later
Going to take a break... Some things to accomplish before TV Tues begins...

I placed 2 evening visit photos from GLO on the E_M photos........
(I am employing reverse psychology!!)
Missed the big birds and keep missing peeks at the baby hummers :(
Gotta fix dinner, see ya later!
SHIRLEY - Whatever it turns out to be, this group is the Power Prayers =
You will come through all this with us right there beside you! ((hugs))
Missed the birds again! Had to run to store.
Lynn, which email had the sister's addresses?
Shirley, be thinking and praying for you--take care.
Din Din time
Yes, I would love to come up there-
Only working Wed., Fri., & every other Sat. til end of year.

Prayers for you Andy. We truly need competent people doing the job you are studying for.
Thanks, Shirley--prayers for you too, my friend! Hope all goes well and you're soon all better!
More power to you Andrea
Just reading about your schedule makes me tired! Very Tired!
Prayers for your brain NOT to let you down are being said!
Thanks to you, too, Jo. When is your test scheduled at the Dr's?
Andy's brain seems to be working wonderfully well these days. I would not want to undertake what she is doing.
Andy, tell us about your avatar.
This latest one is our GGD, Sierra, who's 3 1/2, with a guinea pig she befriended at the petting zoo in San Juan Capistrano. She REALLY loves critters! Such a cute little girl. That looks like a big healthy guinea pig. They are such sweet little critters.
I couldn't believe how big that guinea pig was--but a lot of it was a really healthy coat of hair!
Do think he must've been taking a lot of vitamins, though.
Miss Froona is still in the box at Alcoa
You know, now that I think about it, I bet Sierra would've gotten along extremely well with our Deb.
I wish she could've met her--I wish I could've, too!
Isn't it wonderful when kids love nature :)
Good luck on your test Andrea.
Shirley - hope the meds fix whatever is wrong.
Well, I guess I'd better tear myself away from here and do some hair and makeup damage control. Don't want to frighten any small children on the way to school! Will come back later once I'm home again. Have a good evening! Watch NCIS for me--I've gotta set the DVR! Later....
Going to go get some paperwork and laundry done...bbl

House looks good, Paula. All the hard work you guys have done really shows.
