And love the lab and the turkey story.

If her sister does Deb's facebook page as a memorial, then maybe it won't pop up like that.

Face book wall has had Deb's pic there for the past few days.. But tonight it was so unnerving because it said something like we haven't heard from you for a while.

Dianne had said they would take care of
taking it off FB or like memorialize it.

Hopefully Lynn the wind will accommodate you by blowing all the leaves into one far corner of your lot away from the house and off the drive.

Mema Jo said...

I am waiting until midnight to go over to FB and wish my 30 yr old grandson the best year ever coming up!
Then I'll sign off.

Good late late evening to anyone still awake.

Forgot to tell you we went to the Kennedy Center tonight. Saw August: Osage County. Absolutely terrific and Estelle Parsons gave an incredible performance. At 82 she is amazing.

Will catch up tomorrow. Going to GWU basketball game to cheer my students to victory.

Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for those still awake or who may wake to the sound of ferocious winds in the night.

Judie

hedgie said...

Judie, I haven't heard of that play.....full cast or a one-woman show? Didn't know that Estelle Parsons was still performing! Glad you enjoyed it.

Hope your team wins tomorrow!! Um....are they the Cavaliers or Colonials, or something similar? Can't remember so many team names!

Will say goodnight now, too. Prayers and peace.

Ms Bookworm said...

Good night, Lolly, Paula, Wanda, Jo, Diann, Judie, and Lynn! Gosh, is anyone still awake here? I am getting here mighty late for back east, I guess.
Well, Hubby and I went to Olive Garden and had their soup & salad for lunch--nice and warm and yummy in the tummy! Oh, the mall was just awful--actually, we must've been nuts to go there! SO MANY PEOPLE!!! Lots of them coughing, too--hopefully not in our direction.
We went and fed the bulldogs and put them in for the night. Used our Lysol and hand gel! We were going to spend the night originally, but those plans have changed.
On the way home, we had to take a round-about route to our house--there had been what must've been a nasty accident. The street was blocked off on both sides by police SUVs and fire trucks! Can't imagine what must've taken place!
Didn't look good, though. Prayers for that situation, for sure! And thanks to God that we weren't involved!
Well, haven't read back very far on the blog. Think I'll catch up a bit, and then head to bed. Prayers have been said for all. The night light is on over the nest, my new Christmas night light is on too, the porch light's on, and the eye scanner's been enabled. Sleep snug and warm; late-comers better tippy-toe in and not slam the door! G'night all, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Love you guys! :o]

Lynn, I saw your mention of the possible eagle sighting. Cool! I really want to see a real eagle in the wild. I saw one soaring over the high school graduation ceremonies a few years ago, but that is the only time I can remember.

It is really cold and frosty here this morning. Turned up the heat a bit.

stronghunter said...

Of course, I did see the young eagles at the realease last summer. That counts, too, but not quite the same. They weren't exactly in the wild.

I would like to give DANA a big hug!---Was delighted to read that NILLA had been with her!--Miss NILLA!--NO JO!--didn't go to fox hunt this year---GD--ELLIS was here & she flew home yesterday evening!--LAURA & LISA plus 3 dogs-- a new tiny JACK RUSSELL --that looked as if he needed a 'KEY' on this side to wind him up---but a 'a good time was had by all' ho!

Good Morning Norma, Shirley, and anyone else up and about.
Oh, see that blue screen, not a good sign, might be like that all week-end :(

Maybe the wind aggravated something on the electronics. Was it up at all this morning?

Norma, nice win last night by the Mountaineers ☺
Of course, we might have some Pitt fans on here who are :(

ceil said...

Morning everyone. Nice to see there are people who do care for wildlife. Margy good story about the osprey. Hope it recovers soon.

Judie said...

Oh dear, so much seems to have happened so quickly. Mountaineer win caused Norma's pom poms to fall apart, Lynn was hallucinating about an eagle flying around then went skulking behind a courthouse pillar only to then drive over two limbs and several bloggers are masquerading as someone named Ralphie. Oh my, seems you all can't be left unattended for more than a few seconds.

Lynn, yes Estelle Parsons is still active at 82. She looks wonderful. The stage set had three flights of long stairs and I could not believe her speed and agility. Guessing she had a thorough physical before taking on this play. The play, by Tracy Letts, is about 3 1/2 hours and about a seriously dysfunctional family but it is hilarious. Didn't think I would like it but I did. Lots of bad language but it is in context.

GWU Colonials - Cavaliers are UVA.

Will be leaving early to go to the game just in case security screening is going to happen. I need a parking space and can always go to my office to kill some time.

Happy everyone had a nice day yesterday. Andy, can't imagine going to a mall on Black Friday. Guess I'm too old -- can't think of anything I need or want that much.

Paula, hope you have a terrific day at Conowingo and see lots of eagles. NCTC still blue.

Meagan, hope you have a good market day.

Margy, thank you for the link for Ed. Yes, prayers for Dana and all her family.

To everyone, have a lovely, sunshiny, restful day. I'll be back after the game.

Glad that poor bird is doing so well now! Darned fishing line is such a wildlife hazard! BTW, glad you liked my turkey platter avatar. That set of dishes has been such a wonderful wedding gift!

Judie, sounds like that play with Estelle Parsons was just fantastic!
Amazing that she's still so active at her age! That's great. She's setting quite an example for the rest of us. Glad you've been able to unwind a bit this weekend. Bet it feels really good.

Well, we were over at SIL's house taking care of the bulldogs at 6:30 this morning. They are really missing SIL & BIL. We heard on the news this AM that there's snow galore in the Sierras. Snowing in Gorman like crazy, 6 inches of snow expected today. Hope SIL & BIL don't have to drive thru it on the way home on Monday! Bet chains will be needed by then. Hope they don't get stuck somewhere, either!

Well, gotta go shower. We're going to the movies today, hopefully a double feature. Bring on the popcorn! Will be back later with a review of whatever we end up seeing.
Have a fantastic Saturday! (Hope Ed's team wins!) Love you guys!

Lynn whenever I do the heavy housecleaning I break something I really like. Broke a bisque butterfly one time my mom gave me. Took it to my neighbors they were eating dinner. Stopped and were going to glue it. It was in a million pieces. Told them go back to eating will fix it later. Threw it out. It could not be fixed.

I am back from seeing Megan at Market.
Her wreaths are so fresh and full and just really beautiful. One of her wreaths this year had little mittens on it.... Had to get one! Very unique!

Had lunch with Jenny at Mellow Moods and drank my Dreamcycle Smoothie!

Weather is great when you're in the sun. Not so windy while we were there.

Now it is time to put up the feet!
Mass time will be here before you know it.

Oh Yes! Dog lovers - I saw a
French Bulldog! so lovable and little.
Only gets to be about 20 lbs. But he had a mini bulldog face. Cute as the dickens! Lori would have kidnapped him!

Thelma, not sure what they mean about making stuff public.....I sure wouldn't want to reveal something that someone else has on there. It's confusing to this pea brain! Know my daughter plays some games, but she told me to refuse all invites for polls, causes, etc. and she's a lot smarter than me!

Too bad I can't work with camera around my neck. Just had 4 does go bounding past me...they weren't more than 30 ft. away! Lovely. Don't know how they can leap through the woods the way they do without stumbling and breaking legs!! Hope they were eluding hunters somewhere!!!

Good afternoon my eagle budlets!

I love Facebook but I think some people put stuff on there that is way too personal!

Have I told you all that my laptop crashed? Sucks really bad!

hedgie said...

Jo, glad you got your wreath! What is Mellow Moods? A cafe in S'town?
There was a toy bulldog in the dog show the other night----their wt. limit is 20#. Cute as the dickens. They say they are excellent with children, which surprised me!

Jim, good reports!

Oh, Ceil, I know what you mean.....when I break something that was my Grams', I cry and feel so awful.

Well my feet are down and I am about ready to walk out the door to Mass.

Judie was right! The Obamas are at the basketball game.

stronghunter said...

Can you spot the Secret Service Agents?

hedgie said...

Ha, Shirley, guess I can pick out a couple! But the O family doesn't look like they are enjoying themselves, does it??? Even coach bro looks mad!! And mama sits in between? Maybe they are spatting!!

Judie said...

Hi everyone,

Back from the game. GWU lost to Oregon State by 7 points. It was a tough game. President and family all there. Security was a nightmare but got to shake hands with the President. Wife is much prettier in person and the daughters are just adorable. Oregon coach had to watch his language because his mom was sitting right behind the players. Too funny!

Back later.

hedgie said...

Bet Lolly is HAPPY...her Horned Frogs won their game and will get a bowl bid! Congrats, Lolly.

hedgie said...

Hi, Judie! You have mail! Sorry GW lost...:(

hedgie said...

Judie, are his lips as blue in person as on camera???

hedgie said...

Going to clean up the dishes and head for the sofa....feel a post-turkey nap coming on! BBL.

stronghunter said...

Yeah, I am sure there are other agents there, but a couple are quite visible. We've noticed that at other Presidential events.

The picture does not look like they are very happy, does it? But then, I am sure none of us is smiling all the time.

How nice, Judie! I guess they figure they need to meet and greet after they have caused security complications for everyone.

Our dinner reservations are for 7:00, so need to get going!

Kathryn's bassets ate two of her pecan pies yesterday. She had placed them in the middle of the table and thought they were safe. She had enough ingredients to make more, but was pretty unhappy with the doggies. Had to clean pie mess out of basset ears. I hear there was a lot of yelling.

We were worried that there might be sick puppies, but so far they are okay.

stronghunter said...

One doggie went into the cage without even being told to.

See you later!

Oh yes, I need to eat a piece of pumpkin pie.

Judie said...

Dinner over so will try to catch up.

Jo, happy you found cool wreaths at Meagan's but not surprised.

Yes, Obama looks exactly as he does on t.v. I think the faces being shown were taken when GWU scored. The game became very intense in the last ten minutes with deafening noise. As for the hand shake, I just happened to be seated along the exit path. We don't have a "relationship."

One funny story. Security check in. I gave up my purse for inspection and a Secret Service guy with a wand was there. As he moved the wand between my legs, I couldn't resist -- said that was the most excitement I'd had in a great many years -- tee hee -- got the dudes to laugh!

Most important: even though my guys lost, I am so very happy they had the opportunity to play with the Pres. & family watching. I know my students well enough to recognize during warm up they were emotionally "high."

Can't imagine pecan pies not making the dogs sick. Shirley, hope you had a nice dinner.

Hi Jim. Thanks and will check out Channel Islands.

Umm -- what's a Dreamcycle Smoothie? Anything like the ice cream from the neighborhood truck in summer? My very most favorite!

Off to read the paper, watch some t.v. then back to check in before sleep.

Our poor old blog system here just can't keep up with the numbers :(

Good to hear from everyone, sounds nice, Judie, the trip to the basketball game, and Jo to market, and all the other things here.
Boy I bet Kathryn was HOT when those dogs got into the pecan pies! I would be the sick one, not the dogs!

I'm battling a headache need to eat. We're going to split before anyone realizes it due to the weird posts. I think we are on #385 but who knows?

xo Back later...checking out leftovers

Evening, all!

Back from a day at Conowingo Dam...lots of different ages of eagles flying around all day...some sitting in the trees right behind us, others trying to steal fish from another, and others just flying and playing around....lots of other birds, too...herons, vultures, gulls and we got to see a peregrine falcon, too...ya'll have got to go!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Well, I am getting ready to go to bed now but I have a question. How long have we been blue?

magpie said...

sometime after an early pre-sunrise Eagle visit this morning Sharon...

Welcome home Paula...keep talking !

Judie said...

Well, have had enough excitement for the day.

Paula, so glad you enjoyed the visit to Conowingo.

Have not been totally occupied with my adventures today. Dana has been in my thoughts and I pray she knows how loved and supported she is in a time she most needs our love and support.

Turning my light off early but leaving the night light on for others. Hope Andy remembers to turn on the security system.

Until the morning,

Good evening all!

Back from Sakura. Had a very good time, and brought home enough food for several meals.

Started working on my final assignment for the photography class. It looked overwhelming at first, but I have lots of things in my files to pull from. Just need to organize and and make a couple of additions, and I think I will be fine. Will work on the details tomorrow morning.

Sharon, the camera turned blue some time this morning.

Have started thawing my turkey. We will eat it tomorrow evening. It has been very nice to have Rus here for the weekend. Maybe I can send him to the grocery store while I work on assignments. I need to make the dressing, but can give him a list. His girlfriend is supposed to be here for dinner tomorrow night.

Paula, how long was the drive to Conowingo? What is there...a park or do you just pull off the road?

stronghunter said...

Good night, Sharon and Judie.

hedgie said...

Judie, glad you enjoyed the game. Your boys were good sports, I'm sure!
Shirley, can't believe the bassets didn't get sick as....well, dogs! Thank goodness they are okay!
Paula, sounds like a fabulous day of wonderful sightings!!! Hope you got lots of pics!

Lynne2 said...

Hi all, just popping in to say goodnight...
Wanda there are pics on my blog of Conowingo.
Glad you had fun Paula .... and everyone else today but oh boy those BAD DOGS eating the pies....
See you all tomorrow!

stronghunter said...

Yes, Lynn, I was afraid that Kathryn was going to have another mess to clean up when she got home, but so far it seems to be okay, and it has been awhile now. Bassets are sweet, but they are terrible food thieves. Stubborn, too. Then they just look terribly hurt when you get upset with them.
