Well, I was watching. Even carried the computer into the kitchen....but I missed the visit.
Read through the blog and was ROFLMBO at Ed's card from his sister. That would be soooo perfect for my brother. Will have to write that down to remember it and then make a card.
As long as we all agree that the lettering is: NCTC Eagle Cam we're ok. That is what I reported to the Webmaster and ask if it could be removed due to being so distractive.
So glad to have an update on Dana and Ed. Sur wish Dana eye would hurry and fully heal. Also wish she could be done with all the paperwork, doctors, medications.
Thank you Jo for the eagle visit picture.
Saw the lovely moon as we ate dinner tonight. Could look through a large window into the night sky.
Did see bear but not much actiity other cams so far tonight.
Well, dinner was exceptional. Very, very nice restaurant with lots of artistically designed food that also was incredibly delicious. However, this is not a place I want to visit often. Waaaay too pricey. One crabcake, albeit very large, $24.
Am tired tonight. See the night light is already on so I'm just going to watch a little 48 hours while I wait for the sandman.

If she don't, maybe I will. Good night Margy. I wanted to say also that 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th place prizes should be the pleasure of getting to see one of our eagles this evening. It was great! 16 days and counting!
Hi, Gang, Checking back in after a very busy and fun day. Went to lunch at the coffee shop/bar at the Phoenix Club, a local German hang-out. Had the BEST chicken breast on Spaetzel with green beans and a super creamy dijon mustard sauce! My taste buds died and went to heaven!!!! They have the best German food in all of SoCal, in my experience. Totally authentic! Oh, yummers! SIL had a bunch of errands to run, so no time for a movie. Came home and watched a PBS show we recorded of Celtic Woman. What a singing group! Gorgeous voices, and they kept showing videos of Ireland in the background. Love that group! The wind has died down this evening, and what a HUGE MESS our yard is! About 2 inches of leaves covering every square inch of yard, driveway, and patio! I gotta study for the Anatomy mid-term tomorrow, so won't get cleaned up until Saturday, I guess. Did water all the patio plants this evening, though. They were absolutely GASPING for water! It's so dry here that if you don't have water handy, you could nearly choke. Supposed to be MUCH better tomorrow, though. Heard there was an earthquake today, but didn't feel a thing. We were probably in the car driving when it happened. Well, gotta find a late, light dinner and try to unwind. Haven't caught up on the blog; will try to very early tomorrow. Prayers for all being said. Hope everyone has a good night's sleep, with lots of eagle dreams. Talk to you all tomorrow. Turning out my night light--will somebody make sure there's a light in the window for those who show up late? Thanks! G'night, all. :o]
Survivor, Grey's, PPractice...ALL GOOD! Shop was fairly quiet today, which is to be expected this early. College kids coming and going. Few sales. Thanks to Lynn for sending eagle fix! So good to see our nest occupied:) I'm going to occupy my bed... GOOD NIGHT SLEEP TIGHT PRAYERS FOR ALL
Well, I got lost on TV tonight. Watched Grey's and then PPractice. Also, Michael called and we talked for a long while. Thank goodness they are all well. He and Zach were "baching" it tonight. lol
Another front came through and more storms tonight. Terrific wind, lost a lot of leaves and several branches, one really big branch off one of the pecan trees. However, there was not all that much rain. But, it is cooler, presently 66.

LOLLY!---Take this advice from an 'OLE' WOMAN---YOU & JACK need to take a vacation & leave all your worries at home!---- ps---i am just jealous that i am not related to you all!!!---ho! ENJOY! ENJOY!
EUCLID, Ohio — A woman accused of beating a baby deer to death with a shovel after finding it in her flower garden has been sentenced to 80 hours of community service.
Seventy-six-year-old Dorothy Richardson of the Cleveland suburb of Euclid pleaded no contest Thursday to one misdemeanor count of animal abuse and was found guilty by a municipal court judge, who also ordered Richardson to pay a $500 fine.
Richardson says she became frightened when she saw the fawn in her garden on June 15 and had meant to shoo it away with the shovel.
Earlier, she pleaded not guilty to two animal abuse counts. One charge was dropped in exchange for her new, no contest plea.
Yeah, well I am no fan of deer in the garden, but I could never kill one like that. You have to be a pretty twisted person to beat an animal to death like that. It was a fawn, often they don't run,let you get very close to them. What a witch...may many deer poop on her doorstep for the rest of her days...
Morning! Red it is that I see after reading that article of the Deer Slayer! Community service should be making her place salt licks in all the surrounding wooded areas.
Good morning! Sad, very sad to read about the fawn. Something terribly wrong with that old bat!!! ROFLMBO at the comments! Thanks for the laughs to start my day!
58 here this morning. It is a wonderful, beautiful sunshiny day!
Hey, Norma! We belong to each other! We have adopted each other, Margy sent me an adoption card, so I have that for proof!!!
Jack is out making repairs on the trees that were damaged in the storm yesterday evening. Picking up limbs on the ground as well. I need to get busy with getting ready to leave. Getting excited!
Norma.....just finished with my homemade bread and sausage sandwiches! Will have them again on Sunday. We always leave on trips early and then eat sausage sandwiches while on the road.
Stopping in to say hi and celebratign with all of you that "Our eagle" was seen ont he cam las tnight. Thats wownderful So happy to know the cam is workign again. Dex and I are packing for a 2 week road trip. Off to see my son and his family whom I have not seen for almsot 2 years. For those who helped with the Cam club choices; the hummingbird was second highest score in my group last night. So you helped me to choose well. Thanks a bunch. Still not sure if any of my photos will go to CICCA yet but that hummer is one of my 3 entries to be considered. Enjoy your day and the cam(s)
Well, I am truly saddened about the fawn and cannot conceive of actually beating a helpless animal to death. I am also truly saddened that I am not the sentencing judge -- sentence would have been working at the closest animal rescue/humane society having to personally care for the most abused animals for the rest of her natural life. I would also make her sign a DNR with her name on it.
Wish it were otherwise, Norma, but I often take the Post into class to read a current example.
I love sausge sammiches BUT think I'm going for BACON PASTA tonight. Still have to try the pizza casserole -- that's next on my new recipe cooking list.
Okay, think I'll take a break and maybe get a bit of laundry done.
Hi Gloria, please enjoy the visit. I know Dex will love going along with you.
Also, at school yesterday I could find a video of Diego's latest exam but cannot find it on the computer here at home. Crazy because it's the same home page for the zoo. Anyone got a suggestion?
WELCOME SUZANNE FROM VIRGINIA BEACH!! The still cam is up now. Hopefully the live feed will be back up in January or so. They continue to work on the nest now but the nestorations will really begin in November and February will be laying of eggs and hatching in March! Hang out with us. this is a great bunch of people on here!
Nilla is somebody who used to come on the blog all the time. She told me on facebook that she took her granddaughter out for a ride yesterday and saw our royal couple!
Good Afternoon, Everyone! I'm dragging in here late today--drank coffee too late in the day yesterday, I guess, and didn't get much sleep. Took a panda nap after Hubby left for work. Oh, my gosh--can't believe that someone would be evil enough to beat a fawn to death! That nut case needs a psych evaluation! A few whacks with her own shovel wouldn't be a bad idea, either! May the punishment fit the crime! That poor little fawn. Lolly, SO glad your family is feeling better! Getting excited for you--bet you can hardly wait to start your vacation! Glo, sounds like you and Dex are going to have a wonderful time visiting with your son and his family, too! Getting ready to hit the school books again for the Mid-term tonight. It's on medical terms, and has 175 questions. We're expected to get at least 80% correct. Please say some prayers for me! Hope I can manage to remember some of the tough ones. Will be glad when this class is over! Well, have a good afternoon, everyone, and I will be back later tonight--much later, after I get home from school. TTFN....
Sure looks different to me, at least from the last time I remember. Maybe it's my aging eyesight, but an egg or an eaglet would fall out on that right side.
The sicko that beat the fawn should be shot and I know a couple hunters that would be willing to volunteer. Wonder if she has children?
Good late afternoon Momsters and Dadsters. it has been one long, busy day. By the time I got all the errands run, it was almost 2 before I got home. Then had to get things put away, deal with some business, and then go through 51 emails! Thanks for all great nest captures!! Didn't reply to each, so acknowledging them here!! Got birthday shopping done, but ALMOST forgot----had my list of places to go, but was so excited about checking in on the little project I have going for our goody bags that I forgot to go where I needed for the gift! Had to drive all the way back into town.....argh!!
I cannot believe the leniency that stoooopid judge used in sentencing that old ding bat. What in the world could aprecious little fawn have done to scare her? Agree----she should be beaten with a shovel. Work in a shelter with abused animals??? DON'T THINK SO---jmho. She should never be allowed to come within 50 ft. of any animal.
Wishing Andy good luck with her test, and hoping that Glo has a GREAT TRIP.
I think I missed Glo but still will wish for her a safe journey to be with her son and family. VERY happy to hear about the hummingbird pic capturing recognition!
Diann, the right side of that nest has worried me since Hidey was little!!! It does look lopsided and sloped, and sure seems like it needs building up.
Sorry about those extra miles Hedgie! Sounds like something really special that sidetracked you! Congratulations on your daughter's birthday coming up, Mom!
I love modern technology. Been talking with Jon on Facebook. He is in Cattolica, Italy and talking to me on FB. I am loving it! His competition starts tomorrow. Charlie came back from France last night.
Sure glad to see that Rio got the 2012 Olympics. This country has no business even bidding for something that involves that much money when it is in the financial condition it is in. Again, JMHO.

Hello everybody. Been trying to catch up on the blogs. Went to the Pix Camera, but it is down.
The lettering on my eagle cam is orange with flecks of green. Strange.
Good to see that you got to see an eagle today.
As long as we all agree that the lettering is: NCTC Eagle Cam we're ok.
That is what I reported to the Webmaster and ask if it could be removed due to being so distractive.
Hope it can -
Mits, are you going to Taste of Bethesda Sat.?

Oh man, she should have plead garden insanity. That is too brutal. She became frightened of a fawn? huh? She must be a nasty lady.
JUDIE!----Just pick up a newspaper & copy the front page!---you will have plenty of crime stories!----
(sad--but true)
I know they are a menace, but she really had to be wheeling that shovel to kill a fawn..the old bat:(

That 4 yr old juvie at BWO really was a cutie!
I'm thinking that juvie is still flying around BWO, those eagles look like they are in a defensive mode.
They are both looking in the opposite direction so nothing is going to come up on them - except from behind.
I think you're right, Mits.

CHICAGO eliminated in the 1st round of voting for the OLYMPICS!!
Rio and Madrid are the 2 finalists

another eagle just flew by at the Finland nest
Well I better go put on my red shirt for the day and long pants! Chilly breeze out there!

Good morning, I am looking at the beautiful sea eagle at the Finland on the water nest.
Norma.....just finished with my homemade bread and sausage sandwiches! Will have them again on Sunday. We always leave on trips early and then eat sausage sandwiches while on the road.
That is a beautiful picture, isn't it Deb?
Did not see mention of a nest visit this morning. Thought for sure the early birds would see our eagles.
Whoops, he is looking at us!
Going outside to watch tree repairs and then getting busy. We really slept in today and getting a late start on the day.
Have a great Friday!

Judie
Hi Gloria, please enjoy the visit. I know Dex will love going along with you.
Also, at school yesterday I could find a video of Diego's latest exam but cannot find it on the computer here at home. Crazy because it's the same home page for the zoo. Anyone got a suggestion?
Judie
Hello All,
My name is Suzanne from Virginia Beach. I was wondering when the eagle cam will be back up and when does the nest keeping start taking place.
Nilla Wafer saw Lib and Belle in person yesterday!
WELCOME SUZANNE FROM VIRGINIA BEACH!! The still cam is up now. Hopefully the live feed will be back up in January or so. They continue to work on the nest now but the nestorations will really begin in November and February will be laying of eggs and hatching in March! Hang out with us. this is a great bunch of people on here!
welcome Suzanne
Hi Suzanne, from Va. Beach! Welcome to our blog.
Hey Sharon, who's Nilla Wafer? Some secret eagle spy?
Going to check on Diego.
Thanks for the info. This is one of my favorite cams to visit. I'm a regular at the NBG site also.
Nilla is somebody who used to come on the blog all the time. She told me on facebook that she took her granddaughter out for a ride yesterday and saw our royal couple!
And I guess you could say Nilla is a secret spy, reckon Mits?
TTFN....
Thanks Sharon for explaining Nilla Wafer. Just don't recall seeing that name since I joined.
Andy, study some, take a deep breath, and YOU GO GIRL! Exam prayer for you tonight.
I should make the bacon pasta to take to Mom's over the weekend for dinner...maybe next weekend!
Eagle at BWO!!
Nilla hasn't been on the blog in a long time...
EAGLES!!!
EAGLES IN THE NEST!
Is everybody smiling. I knew you were :-)
SMILING, WHO ME, SMILING? NAWW! :) :) :)
..and then there was one!
I have a whole pile of sticks out here that I wish they would come and get!
Thanks Judy and Ms Bookworm Its nice to see Lib and Belle together at their nest before I leave.
Grins Sharon
A lovely sight on a gloomy Friday.
Look Ma, there ARE eagles!!!
They must be sprucing things up at the nest for your open House get together. OK back to planning and packing for me
I am going to say that is Lib.
Am I imagining it or is one side of the nest missing? If so, they have a lot of rehab to do
OMG there is an Eagle in our nest!
Why yes there is!
Diann, the whole nest is still there....the right side is just not as built up as the left side.
Sure looks different to me, at least from the last time I remember. Maybe it's my aging eyesight, but an egg or an eaglet would fall out on that right side.
The sicko that beat the fawn should be shot and I know a couple hunters that would be willing to volunteer. Wonder if she has children?
Glad he waited for me to get on here!
Eagle at BWO now too!
Man he flew fast!
I'm glad I at least got to see Lib for a couple of refreshes...I missed the poof, and I guess others did as well...nothing noted on the blog.
The right side is the launchpad...it should be lower than the left!
They really have done some nice buildup already!
Sure glad to see that Rio got the 2012 Olympics. This country has no business even bidding for something that involves that much money when it is in the financial condition it is in. Again, JMHO.
I don't think our nest is any different, just maybe the angle of the camera! We have a very strong nest in a very strong sycamore tree! :)
I read an article this a.m., Lynn...Lake Placid just got their final bills paid off 2 years ago....games were from 1976...congrats to Rio:)
split coming up..
I did not know that about Lake Placid. My heavens, that was a long time ago!
I finally got a bird feeder put up out here. Not sure what kind of birds I will get here but I am sure some are different than Bluefield.
Wax??
