Watch for a screening of Rob Owen's new film on the Shepherdstown eagles at the American Conservation Film Festival. I believe the film will show at NCTC on Saturday, November 7.
Will called me this afternoon because someone hit his car while it was parked at his work. The man who hit him is an evangelist who lives in some kind of trailer he pulls around. Will said the guy looked a little shocked because his phone number ends in "666."
I am turning out the light as soon as I let dog out and news ends. Since I got the inside housework all done today, and doesn't sound like weather will be nice again tomorrow, think I will make a pot of chili and an apple pie! Anyone want to come to dinner? Sleep well all. Prayers going up. And thankfulness for friends and wellness.
Sometimes I am a pushover for the restroom and I know that I sometimes get taken advantage of, but I've had issues, too. When the same student asks to go five or six consecutive days and makes a big fuss and threatens to bring her mother in and says she will get me fired, I have issues, but I would not want to make someone suffer. And it can be hard to go in 5 minutes between classes. I have the same problem myself sometimes.
Good to know, Bob---thanks! This was certainly not a good day for kids' cars! Shirley, did you see Lolly's post about Laurel's wreck? My youngest had a very close call yesterday when an SUV pulled out in front of her. Her luck held---no wrecks in several years now while she was driving! She's the one we nicknamed Crunch when she was a teen, as she wrecked everything she drove. Most recent incident was a coupke of years ago when her car was parked on the street at work and an ambulance turning into ER tore the front off her Grand Prix! Driver was 70! Private ambulance company. What a mess and a hassle! Night-night!
I saw Lolly's post, Lynn. I tried to read as many posts as possible earlier this evening, just did not have much energy to post anything myself. I am happy nobody was hurt. It could have been bad.
I'm the one in this family who has had the most serious traffic accidents. Two cars totaled on the road to Culpeper, neither one my fault. The first one was a head-on collision and I had three broken ribs and a broken sternum--didn't know about the sternum until it was healed and I still had pain. On the second one, I was knocked into a ravine by a work truck when I slowed down to make a right turn--I did signal. Route 3 can be dangerous.
I missed everyone I think. Sigh. Hedgie, your trees don't break wind! Had to Laugh at that one... James and I call them #3's. I have mentioned that before.
ISS I have to steer the credit towards Paula on that one! She got us started watching in the summer of 2008 - and I have been hooked since...but thanks Crunch Bob for the toss....that kind of information if not already known is always welcome !
I got a little thank-you email from Loretta's Frank so we KNOW it happened. The birthday, that is. Hope Loretta is feeling better, she was not feeling so good a couple of days ago. :(
I've missed you all, too. The on-line classes don't last but 6 weeks. But now I am gearing up to teach SAT Prep classes two nights a week. I hope I haven't undertaken too much.
Those two wrecks you had sound pretty awful, Shirley.
Sounds like in the second one someone driving that big truck was NOT paying attention, or following too closely. I can't stand a tailgater. If I am in neighborhood or area where the posted speed is important (at least to me) I will suck it up and live with it, but on the open highway, I find a place to pull over so I can enjoy the drive, at the posted speed limit. I am not a Granny driver....
Hey Shirley! We have been missing you! Knew you were probably tired. School does that to you!
Never had tonic water, huh? Geeee! Gin and Tonic is yummy! However, when I was on my diet this year all I had was tonic and lime. Gotta have that lime.
I have to hit the showers.... so I will say Good Night for now, but I know I will be back on to look-see in a little while. Loretta is a night owl so maybe she will post.
Yeah, I mentioned the gin and Will said that it is too late to get gin now, but he definitely could have gotten it earlier. He works at the state liquor store.
Well, La-Di-Da-Lolly! Woof, hope everything will go okay with Laurel with no repercussions.. Judie will find the story interesting! I can envision the officer saying what he did...
I know of a lot of violators (no license especially) and our officers catch up with them A LOT !
I will check out some cures tomorrow. Will has asked to borrow my car, so I might have to see if Kathryn can go out for awhile, though she isn't feeling too well herself.
I am going to have to reward my homeroom kids next week. There are only 8 kids in the class, and as of Thursday we were in third place for the spirit link competition. They were excited and we hung all of the links in the room. They were taken down and moved to the gym for the pep rally, but I took lots of pictures. I will eventually post pictures again. I have to work on my photography class this weekend, so maybe I will have time to play around with the pictures.
Well, don't even try to go back to older posts...I tried and could not...maybe someone can. Wow, things are right fragile. If/when we get a new thread, will we be able to get to it?
I am going to bed finally. Good Night, well, maybe Good Morning now, huh ? xo ♥ ☺
Gosh, I haven't been here in a while! SOOOOOOooooo busy this week with the kids here! Had another nasty test in Anatomy at school tonight; hope I did OK. He DIDN'T put something he said he would include on the test in there, and put some material from the last exam in there instead! Thank God, I knew that part. A lot of people were complaining. There was a LOT of material to study this week. No homework handouts now for the last 3 weeks of the semester. We have a Project to do, and I have to figure out what subject to do mine on. Need to find a really interesting subject.
Wow, lots of people in need of prayers today! Prayers going up for those in need of healing, and prayers of thanks for those who were involved in accidents but weren't hurt. Sometimes we keep the Lord pretty busy watching out for His kids! Prayers for needs being met. Prayers of thanks that we still have one more day with the kids before they go back home!
Lynn, thanks SOOOO much! I got your snail mail!
Ooh--it's getting really late, so I better head for bed. Prayers and hopes that everyone gets a good night's sleep! Will try to get back here tomorrow; may not be until tomorrow night. Kids fly home at 6:55 pm PST tomorrow. Oh, will we MISS them!!!!!! Can tell you right now that you guys will have some cheering up to do! Well, good night, all--any later comers please don't slam the door. Sleep tight! :o]
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!---It is raining & raining here in WILD & WONDERFUL WEST VIRGINIA!!---That's not a good thing!!---the MOUNTAINEERS take on UCONN today in Morgantown at 12:00!!---tried to read yesterdays blog!---(got lost a few times)---Sending my thoughts & prayers to QUINN & to all others in need!!---HEY--BEAUTIFUL WANDA---the soap goes under the bottom sheet!!---& I know how you all feel about the tsp of mustard--IT TRULY DOES MAKE LEG CRAPS GO AWAY!---Just hold your breath & swallow---(don't knock it if you haven't tried it)--ho!---Husband used to massage my leg--now since I have no hubby--I have to do the mustard thing!! ho! Good morning, Norma. Really missed seeing you at the open house. Did you get any snow last weekend?
The muscle relaxer worked beautifully. I slept well last night. I would try the mustard, but I have a problem with my stomach. I took Prilosec for years and have been trying to stop because I understand it blocks the digestion of calcium, so now I am chewing a lot of Tums. I will have to ask the doctor about all of that. I drank some orange juice this morning. I was afraid to do that last night as well.
Have been trying to catch up.
I see there was an eagle visit yesterday and then problems with the nest cam. I can't bring up the nest cam at all. Sounds like others are having the same problem.
Lisa M. was a birthday girl yesterday. I don't know that I have met Lisa. Hello, Lisa, and a belated happy birthday!
Prayers for Quinn. I do not know all of the details, but the situation needs prayers.
I smell homemade soup. Are Thelma and Sharon around?
Jo, prayers for your grandson with the flu. Who is Butterfly Momma?
Judie, hope all went well with your meeting with the wannabe adults.
MORNIN' SHIRLEY!---I am glad you are feeling 'chipper' this am---LISA works at the BWO site!---I haven't met her either---she is so sharp!!--It is a joy to see her work---
WHOA! BLUEFIELD SHARON---I am waiting for my soup to arrive!--ho! This really is a soup day---I must make some today!!---
DON'T FORGET THE WVU v UCONN GAME today at 12:00!!! (understand it might be a tough game)---1 of their regular players was killed this past wk!!--so sad--
Watching the pix-pa site!---Very serene sight -- just a perky squirrel with tail rolled up eating---another squirrel appears--WHAM!--they began chasing each other!!---both are gone--GUESS--life goes on....
Yes, Hunter was very happy about winning the picture. As we were headed home, he asked if we had remembered to bring the picture he won.
Funny thing, the first number called was actually Susan's ticket, but she knew how much Hunter wanted to win, so she gave her ticket to him. Then Hunter's number was called next, so I told Susan it was her turn to win. She is such a good aunt to Hunter. She wanted to be sure he won. He was really into that drawing of tickets. He was so afraid he wasn't going to win something.
I saw the beautiful Eagle squatting in the middle of the BWO nest... made me wonder: Do Birds Mark Their Territory? Was He despositing a little Poop Shoot to say This Nest is Mine for the Time Being?
Grey and rather haunting here too, would be a good day for the game "Catch that Leaf. " ☺
Shirley Do see your doctor about all those different things...Lynn will probably say the same things.... want to make sure all the pieces and parts work together.
Butterfly Mama is Wanda's daughter Karla....you probably have figured that out now ☺
Yes Shirley keep the Blog Open...it is a little tricky to get back in...Sometimes I go to the myoutdoortv.com site that I still have saved and go to Blogspot on that one, but there are other ways too.
Norma, I would do the mustard thing if I get leg cramps, right now my knees are achy so I am thinking about it anyway ☺
Don't laugh you all: I have a 3-pound beef tongue to prepare.... bought it so James could see it...(he was pretty interested in it) - now I have to do something with it, have been talking with some folks that say it is pretty awesome, but it sounds like a little bit more work than making soup.
Good Morning Hedgie Hope the wind blows away all your driveway leaves...! I sent you an email by the way about the Saturday morning detention!
Thought I might try calling a doctor today, but that might be a problem. One reason I chose the doctor I have is that he was open evenings and weekends, but that seems to be changing. I do not think he is open today, but maybe I can get some kind of weekend person. When I took the pill last night, I forgot that I had already taken Imodium and something for arthritis. I probably need to explain that, but the pain from the cramps was awful.
I have a date with the Postmaster this morning, got to get crackin'. BBIALW
Norma James's mother's birthday is Oct 27- we went out for cards and he picked out a gift for her: A Mountaineer Travel Coffee Mug! HO ! Need to get it wrapped, packaged and mailed! xo
MORNIN' MARGY & HEDGIE!!---I was watching DIEGO & MOM!---How that BIG MOMMA can be so gentle with 'little DIEGO'--ho!---She does pile bamboo on him quite often!! ho!
Sorry I confused everyone. Quinn is Jo's grandson. Walter is the boy who died from the flu and they have not said whether it was the swine flu. Lynn they did amputate his lower legs and were saying his hands if he had survived but heart gave out.
Sad. This swine flu is scary, and now they are saying not enough vaccine. Schools around here were planning to give the shots, but now most can't get the vaccine. Kathryn wanted it for Hunter because he has borderline asthma.
HEDGIE!!---When I got married---I had NEVER cooked in my life!---A friend at work gave me a recipe for CHILI using 1 can of tomato soup!!----well I made that CHILI & BILL & I both could not get over it---IT WAS DELICIOUS!!---So for a few years we had CHILI every Sat & Sun---I became a better CHILI maker over the years--ALL MY KIDS & THEIR MARRIED FRIENDS ASKED FOR MY RECIPIE!!!!---(i was so proud)! Haven't made it for awhile---think I am gonna go with veggie soup today!!!
Margy Gaithersburg is up near Mt. Airy/ Damacus. We used to take our Dalmation there for acupunture. Norma as long as God does not get confused we are good.
Dana had this way about it, she says she cannot always remember all the names of the people she is committed to praying for, but God knows who they are ☺
I just check Diego and he is sleeping by himself. While on that site the have a video update of Tina and Jewell two elephants that the zoo just got. They have trained them to put their feet up so they can clean them and to soak them. Cute video.
Have to tell you about my day yesterday. Then you might understand better why I was tired.
Actually, it was a good day . . . the last day of homecoming week. Kids dressed in different costumes all week. Yesterday was Blue Devil Pride day. First block (my homeroom kids) finished up their spirit links and hung them all around the room. They were really hustling, and they were excited because it was announced we were in 3rd place!!! Whoopee!! Most homerooms would have about 25 students. We have 8 because it's a dual enrollment class. (The money goes to good causes such as the Angel Tree, etc.) We did have a quiz and other assignments as well. They are reading Into the Wild and I assigned addtional chapters. The first block kids left in high spirits.
Then the cheerleaders and football players came in and took down all of the links. I am glad the first block guys didn't see that, but the custom is that the links from all of the classes are taken to a central location so the whole school can admire them. I took lots and lots of pictures, though.
My third block seniors were wound up big time. I was explaining the research paper while some were applying face paint and waving pom-poms. I took a little time to take some pictures, then coaxed them back on task as best I could. I will have to repeat most of the lesson, but I survived in reasonable fashion. I finished off with a movie--Hotel Rwanda. It stirred some passion, which is what I wanted. The research paper is about human rights violations.
Block 4--Honors English 11. I gave a 95-question test on The Crucible. Sounds mean, but sometimes it is the best way to mantain sanity. I was being observed by a student teacher. The students were bouncing off the walls. They informed me that the test was impossible. They could not do it in a period shortened because of a pep rally. I must postpone the test, etc.,etc., Several told me that they absolutely must leave early, furthermore, there was water spilled on the floor that demanded my attention, blah, blah, blah. I observed the small amount of water someone had spilled--you would have thought the room was flooding--gave out the tests and miracle of miracles, everyone finished! Students were called to the pep rally by the band marching down the hall playing their instruments and everyone went to a rousing pep rally. A day in an American High school!
The student teacher was home schooled. She had never experienced a pep rally. I think she got quite an education.
Absolutely pouring here. TV satellite is out. Wonder if internet will be too when I hit post! Ha, Margy---leaves are only blowing DOWN, not sideways. Don't even have a driveway anymore--it's a leafway!! Yes, Ceil, I had seen the TV coverage about Walter...sorry, but if it was me, I would prefer to be gone than to pull through without hands or feet...JMHO. And know that my kids would feel the same way. You may eat my share of oysters...yuck! Margy, I think tongue may be an English delicacy---ask Chrissy!!! She might have a recipe!
Have my phone apptmt. with the company that is supposed to be helping us with our insurance changes.....already 45 mins. late on the call back.....guy just called to say that rep is backed up and it will be w/in next 2 hrs. Argh! Will get cordless from basement so that if they call while I'm trying to make pie or soup, I can still work!!
Blogging class is interesting. I am learning how to set up a blog for my students. I asked first block how many had blogged before, and I do not think any of them have. I have to decide how to set it up and what guidelines to put in place. I think Judie has already done this. Maybe she can help me out with some ideas.Judie, it is on Edublog.
I'm fortunate to have two small reasonably mature groups I can experiment with before trying it with a large group.
I also asked about digital cameras. One girl has several in addition to the one she uses for the yearbook. I even allowed her to use my camera for awhile. We will probably have some pics in the yearbook out of all of this.
I need to see if the school has some cameras I can use. They might.
Good Morning All! Skies really look as though they are threatening rain. I am headed out of here to DR for the swine flu shot... I'll let you know if it stings! lol Talk about leg pains - I was awakened this early morning with my knee and ankle joints giving me quite a good amount of pain! You all think it is the weather - 2 tabs of Tylenol got me back to sleep.. I had taken my Boniva tab yesterday morning - It's a once a month dosage - I am connecting the pain to that med. Hope it does not return.
All of my lab work has come back negative--that is not necessarily good, because something is wrong, so there will be more tests. I see a colonoscopy in my near future. Yuck. The last one caused me to miss the "wardrobe malfunction" at the Superbowl halftime--I believe that was in '04.
I just talked with grand-daughters in FL----BIG NIGHT!---Tonight is the homecoming dance for MADDIE--& ELLIS!---MADDIE'S 1st-- she is just too excited!!----
Lynn, are the insurance changes because you are going to Medicare? Or is is part of a retirement plan? I know you have mentioned it before, but I don't remember the details.
HEDGIE---I feel your pain---nothing worse than waiting for a workman to come---never on time!!---NEVER! would love to come for 'din-din'---what time? -- promise I won't make you wait!! ho!
weather near Shepstown.... ... Line of heavy showers with gusty winds to affect Washington... Frederick... Jefferson and Berkeley counties...
At 1021 am EDT... Doppler radar indicated gusty showers extending along a line extending from Hedgesville to Martinsburg to Vanville... moving east at 35 mph.
Locations that will likely be affected by these storms include Williamsport... Shepherdstown... Hagerstown... Boonsboro... Wolfsville and Thurmont.
Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph can be expected with this line... along with a heavy downpour.
Need to go fix some brunch and then read my camera manual, part of the Daily Digital Images homework. It should be enjoyable. I have already scanned over it and see that I can do lots of fun things with the camera. Will try to share some.
Shirley, my daughter, Karla, is Butterfly Mama. She is an Eaglet Momster, but because she can only get dial up on the mountain where she lives...she is not active on our blog anymore. She says it is too frustrating, so she doesn't even try anymore. I miss having her come on here in the mornings, as she used to. Has dial up at her work too:( Capt. Gene is scheduled to have a colonoscopy on Monday, Shirley...he begins his fasting tomorrow, Lord have mercy! Anything he needs to know?
Norma, dinner around 6! Shirley, Gm is taking our retiree insurance away form us. 65 and over was effective last Jan. Now under 65 disabled on Medicare...so have to choose a Medigap policy, Part D policy, and hopefully something w/ dental and vision. Why isn't the big health-care reform kahuna preventing businesses form doing this to the people who worked all their lives making these stupid companies what they are---or were before the recession?? Why not let the ones still working with their fat union contracts pay more so that retirees don't end up near poverty? For many who retired 20 yrs. ago or more, their pensions are SO small that they can't afford this garbage. really feel sorry for them. And many are so senile that I only pray they have someone working for them on their behalf to get things straight.
Don't know how in the world you could cram so much stuff in to one day, Shirley, especially with shortened periods. How long was the movie???? Or how long was the period?? Sure hope you find out something from doc soon so you can stop worrying!!
Hey all! Finally got around to processing the photos I took at the Open House. There's just a couple from Talon's and the rest are from Battson's show:
Mits Thanks, I can get FWS site too, so much of what I have saved is cam stuff..that I had to search for the Home page, just checked for new thread and it is not up yet so now I am straight.
For anyone who might not have it you might want to write this one down to get back into blog:
OH HEDGIE!---So sorry about your ins!!---We had our meeting with WV folks yesterday--in re: insurance changes!--Our price will not change--but new folks after 2010 may not receive ins when they ret!!--When I started working our ins was free!! (good ole days)
Bob These are wonderful photos !! Big exclamation point ! But my favorite from that week-end is of you sporting the Feather at the dinner Saturday night ! You AND your table-mates. And someone told me that table was behaving themselves ☺
The movie is probably about 2 hours. I had shown part of it the day before. Our normal periods, or blocks, as we call them are 90 minutes. I don't remember how much time was taken off, I suppose I had this group for about an hour. They have lunch in the middle of class. That is a challenge sometimes.
Yes ☺ I heard about them too! Most of the Action had settled down when I arrived... Bob Speaking as a Momster, I know how very appreciative everyone was at the beautiful photographs you brought for door gifts...you brought a lot of joy to the recipients. I had one of the three unwinning tickets :) BUT I received your beautiful Eagles on the Stag at last year's dinner as the Grand Prize....so I have no complaints.
Excuse me, but just what table would you be speaking of? Because at my table there are no pictures of people with feathers in their heads...just sayin.... And by the way, the pictures are great, Bob.
Storm that passed thru here earlier this morning was a doozy- heavy rain and gusting winds. We lost power couple of times during the nite, and had no cable, internet, or phone until just about 30 minutes ago. Leg cramps- yuk- usually for me it means I'm dehydrated- bananas and water work for me. did someone say cow tongue- ewwww- should always be left in a cow, never in a kitchen- just my opinion now, but just the thought of it makes me ill....
Lynn, it would be wonderful if the insurance mess could be straightened out so that everyone gets a fair deal. It is one reason I am afraid to retire. Right now, I have a pretty good deal, at least I hope I do. I finally got my card.
I worry about Will, though. He has a state job, but no insurance. Rather than give him a full time job with benefits, they hire more part-timers so they don't have to pay benefits. And this is the state.
It is a problem for those who have retired and for others who are younger. It is going to be hard for Will to pay for that emergency room visit he had recently.
Thanks for sharing the Battson Critter show, Bob, I didn't get to see it this year. Mrs. Critter was smiling so beautifully in every photo, she seems to really enjoy and love her animals!
Okay, had my insurance call---such as it was...to be continued Mon. Did learn that there are no Medigap plans in WV if disabled---have to go with a Medicare Advantage plan, which is a PPO--they will have to see if my Dr. participates. Plan itself sounds reasonable, cost-wise...we shall see. Norma, so if nothing is changing for those of you already retired, why did they have you come to the meeting? In my limited research just now it looks like Humana carries/or will carry PEIA retirees...is that right?
Megan - Mostly got the beef tongue as an educational experience for James - He is a Riot at the grocery store, checks out ALL the produce, and wants to know what part of the animal ALL the meats are from...I had to order up a tongue since they don't usually have it, last one I saw (without James) was was from an order which never got picked up. My 91 yoa gal pal who shops with me said that as a youngster her mother roasted it and it made for some great sandwiches... So I guess I have to do something with it now that the educational experience is over with ☺
I did send an email to Steve about the Still Cam being kaplooie... but don't think he will get maybe until Monday...but maybe before then Hope the wind and rain did not cause too much problem for anyone
HEDGIE!---They just changed our carrier to HUMANA---But this means there will be no changes in procedure other than the name!---Took them an 1 1/2 hour to tell us that!--promised to keep the free use of the W/CTR too! --- Change effective 1/1/10---
MITS!---I just watched about 10-15 min this am---before WVU game at noon!!----Which is your team--AUBURN or LSU?---forgive me please----I am truly sorry if I mislead you!!--This is a GOOD game!!--The UCONN team is playing their hearts out!!---WVU is doing well too!!--- guess I better check this may be a rerun too!!
No sugar in my cornbread, Norma! All these games are giving me a headache!! Pie crust made, now to slice the apples....looks like it's getting ready to dump rain again! Report this AM called for snow in Maine! Is that what you see--a white-out? Margy, roast the tongue and give it to your lady pal!

My butt is whooped, heading to bed. Catch ya'll tomorrow night...maybe!
Hugs to all ♥
I see, Lynn. I think Lolly was responding to you.

I saw Lolly's post, Lynn. I tried to read as many posts as possible earlier this evening, just did not have much energy to post anything myself. I am happy nobody was hurt. It could have been bad.
Hope Gee Gee and Shirley have restful nights....
Yep! I am headed for the Sheetz - I mean the sheets!
Good Night All
Prayers for wants/needs of all

Hi, Jim. Hope things are going well out in California.
Shirley we have missed you...hope you get to rest and relax and not worry about your on-line classes. Hope you will feel better soon.
Lots of not-feeling-well news here. Prayers that all that will be okay soon.
Wanda The girls look lovely and happy ☺
Hi, Margy. Most everyone has gone to bed.
Hi, Margy. Most everyone has gone to bed.

School does that to you!
Never had tonic water, huh? Geeee! Gin and Tonic is yummy! However, when I was on my diet this year all I had was tonic and lime. Gotta have that lime.
I hope she is better, too. I haven't kept up with everything too well the past few days.
I hope the same for you, Shirley!
I have to hit the showers....
so I will say Good Night for now, but I know I will be back on to look-see in a little while. Loretta is a night owl so maybe she will post.
God Bless Us, Every One.
xo ♥
Yeah, I mentioned the gin and Will said that it is too late to get gin now, but he definitely could have gotten it earlier. He works at the state liquor store.
I watched TV and then got ready for bed. Didn't mean to abandon the blog.
Well, La-Di-Da-Lolly!
Woof, hope everything will go okay with Laurel with no repercussions..
Judie will find the story interesting! I can envision the officer saying what he did...
I know of a lot of violators (no license especially) and our officers catch up with them A LOT !
Okay, TTFN the bubbles are hollering at me !
It's the quinine water (Tonic) that would be good for the cramps. We joke and say we have it to scare away scurvy.
Lolly - glad you saw those Eagles at LW; James and I were watching, saw the beaking, he was fascinated!
And, we have never had scurvy so I guess it works!
Okay Bye I am definitely pulling a Magpie !
Great picture of your girls, Wanda. Doesn't it make you feel good when your children have fun together?
Nite Margy! Sweet dreams!
I will check out some cures tomorrow. Will has asked to borrow my car, so I might have to see if Kathryn can go out for awhile, though she isn't feeling too well herself.
I think I am headed to bed myself. We have to get a move on in the morning to get up to Denton to see the soccer games.
Shirley, hope you get some relief and get a good nights sleep.
Nite all!
Sweet dreams!
Good night Margy and Lolly. Sleep well. I think I will wind down and try to go back to bed now.
Just as an FYI
I did send an email to Steve about the inaccessiblity to the FWS sites, and our still cam going down.
Nice pictures of the Eagles on the Momsters Album from Friday evening's visit, Thanks Jo and Sharon ☺
Well, don't even try to go back to older posts...I tried and could not...maybe someone can. Wow, things are right fragile. If/when we get a new thread, will we be able to get to it?
I am going to bed finally.
Good Night, well, maybe Good Morning now, huh ?
xo ♥ ☺
Good Morning, Everyone!

MORNIN' T-BIRD!---I can smell that veggie soup of BLUEFIELD SHARON'S all they way from the state of VA!!
THIS IS TRULY A SOUP DAY TODAY!
It is so foggy now--I can't see across the lawn!
There are a few PENQUINS swimming in the MARYLAND ZOO'S pool!---Love watching PENQUINS---
The NZ FLAMINGOS don't seem to have rain this am---but they are so cool to watch!---
Good morning, Norma.
Good morning Normabyrd!
TODAY is the last day one can make a pledge to the WV PUBLIC RADIO drive!!----JUST CALL 1-800-456-3488or www.wvpubcast.org
MORNIN' SHIRLEY!---I am glad you are feeling 'chipper' this am---LISA works at the BWO site!---I haven't met her either---she is so sharp!!--It is a joy to see her work---
Thanks Norma. She sounded like someone who was familiar with the site.
WHOA! BLUEFIELD SHARON---I am waiting for my soup to arrive!--ho!
This really is a soup day---I must make some today!!---
DON'T FORGET THE WVU v UCONN GAME today at 12:00!!! (understand it might be a tough game)---1 of their regular players was killed this past wk!!--so sad--
SHIRLEY---I saw you--your daughter & grandson on WANDA'S photos!!---I saw he won one of BOB'S photo!!--Bet he was a happy camper then!!!
The BWO just flew away!
Good Morning Eagle Pals....
I'm wondering..if there is a new thread today, how will we ever know or get to it? Maybe Steve might notice the problem then...
Norma, are you referring to the UConn player that was stabbed to death last week? Not a Mountaineer...
Norma
Paula saw turkeys, big ones, at Pix Pa yesterday!
I think I will not log out of the site today. Might not be able to get back in.
Shirley
Do see your doctor about all those different things...Lynn will probably say the same things....
want to make sure all the pieces and parts work together.
Butterfly Mama is Wanda's daughter Karla....you probably have figured that out now ☺
and Lisa is Outta Sight! I see you got the answer to that one also
Hello Southern Delegation ☺
Good morning, sweet friends!
Shirley, glad you slept well! BTW--Butterfly Mama is Wanda and Gene's daughter Karla!
Norma, what kind of soup are you going to make? I'm going to do chili---ours is a soup, not thick stuff.
Don't laugh you all: I have a 3-pound beef tongue to prepare....
bought it so James could see it...(he was pretty interested in it) -
now I have to do something with it, have been talking with some folks that say it is pretty awesome, but it sounds like a little bit more work than making soup.
Good Morning Hedgie
Hope the wind blows away all your driveway leaves...!
Shirley and Norma
My picture of Hunter holding his photograph is one of my favorites!
I have a date with the Postmaster this morning, got to get crackin'.
BBIALW
Norma James's mother's birthday is Oct 27- we went out for cards and he picked out a gift for her: A Mountaineer Travel Coffee Mug! HO ! Need to get it wrapped, packaged and mailed!
xo
MORNIN' MARGY & HEDGIE!!---I was watching DIEGO & MOM!---How that BIG MOMMA can be so gentle with 'little DIEGO'--ho!---She does pile bamboo on him quite often!! ho!
HELLO T-BIRD AND BUDDY ☺ ♥
WOW! MARGY---Your grandson has good taste! ho!---Yeah the UCONN player was killed---he was going to be a father too----
Sorry I confused everyone.
Oh dear, how sad, Ceil.
Ceil and others:
I'm so sorry I mixed up the names !...read the comments too fast I guess....
Morning everyone. We are on our way to Gaithersburg in a little while for a Church oyster/turkey supper. Have a great day.
Where in Gaithersburg Ceil? I am on my way! ☺ ....Have a good time...
xo
CEIL---Don't worry--I think our prayers are heard even---when we get names confused...
CEIL & MARGY---Just think of me when you are munching on your oysters---ho!---ENJOY & HAVE FUN!
Margy Gaithersburg is up near Mt. Airy/ Damacus. We used to take our Dalmation there for acupunture.
Norma as long as God does not get confused we are good.
It will be a beautiful drive, Ceil, enjoy the eats and the treats.
I trash-canned my comment with wrong name so as to try to prevent confusion....
Dana had this way about it, she says she cannot always remember all the names of the people she is committed to praying for, but God knows who they are ☺
pix-pa!---SQUIRRELS & MOURNING DOVES....up close & BEAUTIFUL this am--
I would love to have some of my mom's fried oysters.
I just check Diego and he is sleeping by himself. While on that site the have a video update of Tina and Jewell two elephants that the zoo just got. They have trained them to put their feet up so they can clean them and to soak them. Cute video.
morning everyone...have a good one..
Shirley, doc told me when I have the leg cramps...drink a large glass of water.....:) works everytime:)
Two Eagles back at BWO -
Hi Helen
WERE - sorry !
hi ya, Margy...Gaithersburg is right down 270....about 20 minutes from me
Have to tell you about my day yesterday.
Thanks, Mits. I think that I do need to drink lots more water. I forget to drink enough until I get really thirsty. Yesterday was pretty demanding.
Big Downpour with wind here
Absolutely pouring here.
She might have a recipe!
guilty here too, Shirley...I was sceptical of doc's remedy, but...man it worked and worked fast
I can get on NCTC sites just fine, just not the cam
They might.
MORNIN' MITS---
Good Morning All! Skies really look as though they are threatening rain. I am headed out of here to DR for the swine flu shot... I'll let you know if it stings! lol
Talk about leg pains - I was awakened this early morning with my knee and ankle joints giving me quite a good amount of pain! You all think it is the weather - 2 tabs of Tylenol got me back to sleep.. I had taken my Boniva tab yesterday morning - It's a once a month dosage - I am connecting the pain to that med. Hope it does not return.
Glad you got relief, Jo.
All of my lab work has come back negative--that is not necessarily good, because something is wrong, so there will be more tests. I see a colonoscopy in my near future. Yuck. The last one caused me to miss the "wardrobe malfunction" at the Superbowl halftime--I believe that was in '04.
I'll finished reading when I return...
I sure hope I beat the rain!!
bbl
I just talked with grand-daughters in FL----BIG NIGHT!---Tonight is the homecoming dance for MADDIE--& ELLIS!---MADDIE'S 1st-- she is just too excited!!----
Mason's newest update
Sounds Great, Norma, and she is in good health...not sick like so many young ones lately...☺
thanks Lynn, I see a few recipes on Google and will take out the cookbooks here soon too...
either cook it or freeze it today for sure...
Best wishes Jo...
Lynn, are the insurance changes because you are going to Medicare? Or is is part of a retirement plan? I know you have mentioned it before, but I don't remember the details.
Shirley! I get exhausted just reading about your day...you are a bundle of energy, hope the doctors get things all figured out for you too
HEDGIE---I feel your pain---nothing worse than waiting for a workman to come---never on time!!---NEVER! would love to come for 'din-din'---what time? -- promise I won't make you wait!! ho!
windy and rainy at Maine today....it is really amazing how that cam works during all this weather...
weather near Shepstown....
... Line of heavy showers with gusty winds to affect Washington...
Frederick... Jefferson and Berkeley counties...
At 1021 am EDT... Doppler radar indicated gusty showers extending
along a line extending from Hedgesville to Martinsburg to
Vanville... moving east at 35 mph.
Locations that will likely be affected by these storms include
Williamsport... Shepherdstown... Hagerstown... Boonsboro... Wolfsville
and Thurmont.
Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph can be expected with this line... along
with a heavy downpour.
Need to get dressed---game at noon!
When I watch a game---I eat--eat!
Our skies are getting dark again--we may get more rain!!---
Need to go fix some brunch and then read my camera manual, part of the Daily Digital Images homework.
Has dial up at her work too:(
Capt.
Open House Photos
Mits
Thanks, I can get FWS site too, so much of what I have saved is cam stuff..that I had to search for the Home page, just checked for new thread and it is not up yet so now I am straight.
For anyone who might not have it you might want to write this one down to get back into blog:
http://www.eaglecam.blogspot.com/
OH HEDGIE!---So sorry about your ins!!---We had our meeting with WV folks yesterday--in re: insurance changes!--Our price will not change--but new folks after 2010 may not receive ins when they ret!!--When I started working our ins was free!! (good ole days)
Bob
These are wonderful photos !!
Big exclamation point !
But my favorite from that week-end is of you sporting the Feather at the dinner Saturday night ! You AND your table-mates. And someone told me that table was behaving themselves ☺
Headed out to dodge the rain and wind...most of which seems to have passed through here for now.
Thanks for the Nest Weather report, Helen .
Thanks Again, Bob, I had to miss all that due to work....but feel I am almost there with your photos !
xo
Yes, our table was quite well behaved, unlike another table who won't be mentioned. ☺
Bob
Speaking as a Momster, I know how very appreciative everyone was at the beautiful photographs you brought for door gifts...you brought a lot of joy to the recipients. I had one of the three unwinning tickets :)
BUT I received your beautiful Eagles on the Stag at last year's dinner as the Grand Prize....so I have no complaints.
TTFN post office closes in 20 mins
Thunder has arrived along with heavy downpour. Dr had things set up very well - In and Out with very little waiting time.
Which table would that have been Bob?
Your pics show great coverage of what
was going on with the exhibits. I love that wolf!
BOB, just in case you haven't seen YOUR YANKEE DOODLE PICTURE, go to my blog "JUST FOR FUN":)
Whoever is doing the RAIN-DANCE, you can stop now...chasing my customers away!
Thanks for sharing the Battson Critter show, Bob, I didn't get to see it this year. Mrs. Critter was smiling so beautifully in every photo, she seems to really enjoy and love her animals!
BBL
WOW!! This AUBURN -LSU game is unbelievaable!!---LSU won in the last min. of the game!!!!!
I get BOB'S PICS---BUT THE FRAMES ARE EMPTY?????
eagle BWO
Next year I'll take my own pictures at the dinner so I can document which table possesed the higher level of decorum.
both eagles at BWO now:)
It sure has lightened up outside - the sun is even trying to shine!
Norma - did you try a refresh?
Wanda - I agree Mrs. Critter exudes a real joy for her animals.
GO MOUNTAINEERS!!-----
BOB---Thanks--I refreshed a couple of times---must be my computer!!
Norma on my NCAA football scoreboard it says Auburn and LSU play tonight at 7:30p.m. ET
Oh, no, Norma---try again. They are lovely photos! Our Bob is so talented!!
Wow, Shirley, even with a lunch split, a 90 min. class would be really neat in my opinion. Sure the kids disagree, but sure beats 50 mins. in my book.
I'm with Megan on the tongue!!!

Yeah, which table misbehaved????? Certainly not Miss Sandra's!!!
Is anyone else having trouble opening the still camera this morning???
In fact I couldn't open NCTC link at all and used an old link directly to the blog.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
Hang on...I'm still looking up decorum...hahaha
Hey Jim:)
Yep, cam is down- FWS service is having internet isuues again.
Oh, glad you got to see Bob's pics, Norma!
Chili is cooking---what time should I expect you? Would you like cornbread with that???
MITS--I think they played last night!----They showed it this am just before the WV game!!
Wish I lived closer!!---I dearly love CORN BREAD---Don't want any sugar in mine---do you put sugar in yours?---
Hey Hey Hey - The table with all the guests disguised as Empty Seats was the misvehavin' table, wasn't it ?
Megan - Mostly got the beef tongue as an educational experience for James - He is a Riot at the grocery store, checks out ALL the produce, and wants to know what part of the animal ALL the meats are from...I had to order up a tongue since they don't usually have it, last one I saw (without James) was was from an order which never got picked up.
My 91 yoa gal pal who shops with me said that as a youngster her mother roasted it and it made for some great sandwiches...
So I guess I have to do something with it now that the educational experience is over with ☺
the BWO Eagles seem to be staking a Claim
I did send an email to Steve about the Still Cam being kaplooie...
but don't think he will get maybe until Monday...but maybe before then
Hope the wind and rain did not cause too much problem for anyone
Very interesting Open House photos, Bob. Almost wish there was sound with the presentation.
Just gorgeous

guess I better check this may be a rerun too!!
No sugar in my cornbread, Norma!
All these games are giving me a headache!!
Pie crust made, now to slice the apples....looks like it's getting ready to dump rain again!

Is that what you see--a white-out?
Margy, roast the tongue and give it to your lady pal!
