Happy after-dinner time!

Jo, I think I had a senior moment and thought Lolly would want Meatballs. Oh well, I rationalize that I'm tired.

Shirley, not strange behavior for a stalker. Same advice goes for boyfriend. While the majority of stalkers are male, many are female. Threats against family members and children are not uncommon and are typically intended to intimidate. Good news is that personal violence is far less likely than personal property damage with car being a prime target followed by pets. Document, document, document and take EVERYTHING to police. Employee-supervisor stalking is not uncommon. Boyfriend might want to discuss situation with an employer/company attorney if there is one. If police are unresponsive the evidence can be taken to a magistrate (if there is one in their area).

Small arson fires, enuresis, torture/killing of small animals = homicidal triade associated with serial killers. Always find one of the three, sometimes two, rarely all three.

Tired and full of chinese so need a nap. Will return later by way of San Diego.

Metforim does have an odor but it's the taste that is horrible. I always have the cup of water ready as soon as the tablet goes in my mouth.

Any follow up on NCTC fire, Lynn.
Margy is off - right?

Mema Jo said...

I am losing it also - THERE IS MARGY RIGHT ABOVE ME

Go back in the morning at 6 am for three 12's -

But those eagles at BWO were awesome, and I got a pic to Suz, and the alert from Deb just in time for her to see at least on ☺

Going to shut the computer down while I take a long bath...

See you all in a bubbly little while.

Wolf is not doing too well on Jeopardy tonight.

stronghunter said...

Deb, that is really cool! Some people are SO talented.
I'm going to go take my bath and then try to take a panda nap. Dumb postlight bulb burned out---Ronnie is not the brightest bulb in the pack---LOL---so hope he can find the house with just the porch light. Maybe I should turn on the Romney traffic light, eh, Norma? Well, it IS about 8 yrs. since he's been here. And he doesn't have a phone! Duh.....

magpie said...

Wow, bet that Bird on the Wire video music was nice...
I'm going to have take your all's word for it for now.
But I do have "Bird on the Wire" by Judy Collins, waiting for it to come on now...

Nice pictures, Deb , that Merlin commands presence!

I've done all I can on this computer and am at the point now where I REALLY don't know how to proceed through the next step without risking making a big boo-boo. Done the diagnostics, just now sure how to update the drivers....so many steps...
Just going to work on it a little at a time. Would really like to have sound back.

I think I better say Good Night Friends before I start missing pillow-goers.

God Bless Us, Every One

hedgie said...

Before I head for the sofa, should clarify that my BIL is no dummy. Just a very unobservant guy---landmarks have no meaning to him! He is a former MP, then a cop, then an electrician. And he is a drummer. If he doesn't have a set of drums to play, he will drum on any hard surface in front of him. Extremely hyper----and panics easily!
TTYL!

hedgie said...

G'night, MArgy and everyone else who has already called it a day!

magpie said...

Good Night, Lynn... hope he finds his way okay, would be easier if the weather was more dry probably...but he can call you and you can walk him through it, right?
Pizza Casserole, if he does not find his way, you can find me dayshift Friday at work ☺

Please remember Friday is Wear Red Day....♥

magpie said...

Now don't anyone go ragging on me for pulling a few Margys here...I never said I was going to bed, just wanted to say good night to those that were getting ready to...
a little ice cream here though and then I am gone.
Jo I was gazing longingly at a display of Oatmeal Creme Pies earlier this evening when I was out, decided I must wait until egg-laying time for that!

stronghunter said...

What does egg-laying time have to do with oatmeal cream pies?

magpie said...

Oh Shirley, last year on the night when we think Belle laid her first egg, we were all hovering around our computers watching...in the middle of the night, I was eating Oatmeal Creme Pies.....which had been the subject of conversation BEFORE egg-laying time....

magpie said...

and then when we were waiting over the next few days we would talk about Oatmeal Creme Pies again....
Power of suggestion, I guess, besides, they are delicious!

stronghunter said...

I thought it must have some special significance. So we are supposed to eat oatmeal cream pies when the eagles lay their eggs. I can handle that!

magpie said...

In fact, it WAS the night Belle laid her first egg...the controversial time when the night-hunt was going on....not sure if she laid one before midnight, but we knew there was one in the nest around 2:30, after midnight. I think I have that right.

magpie said...

And the day the first egg hatched, well, the Blog was Ablaze with excitement....☺...that little tyke, was our Hidey ♥

magpie said...

I feel incredibly lonesome without a view of our nest.

It's been nice talking with you friends on here though, that helps.

It IS my bedtime now,
Good Night, All....Sleep Sweetly.

I crave Oatmeal Creme Pies ever so often. With checking my blood sugar nowadays, I could probably have one bite. lol

Mema Jo said...

Well cleaned out my emails...
Are you going to work tomorrow, Shirley?

Mema Jo said...

Wanda - I hope that just because you got a new hip and knee that you are not out running around this late!

stronghunter said...

Will have to buy some oatmeal creme pies when we get near the time.

Must get to bed. I am yawning, even thought I have slept much of the day.

Mema Jo said...

Good Night Margy and Deb restful sleep to you too! Thanks Judie for leaving the light on.

Lynn I hope a car pulls into

You might not see him until morning!

stronghunter said...

Yes, Jo, I am planning to go to work tomorrow. I do hope I sleep tonight. I might take a sleeping pill. sometimes that helps. Also, just taking it easy today probably helped.

Ms Bookworm said...

Good Morning, Everyone!
I'm dragging in again, looking desperately for coffee. Did get a good night's sleep. Must get busy and get myself to the school library to study. Teacher says we should be able to get homework answers online, but when I try to find a picture of the muscle system with the names of the muscles, it's either too simple and doesn't name all of them, or I just get a bunch of companies trying to sell me Anatomy posters.
Gotta find a book with pictures. Our textbook is woefully inadequate! Please pray, you guys, that I can retain enough for the test tonight! So much to learn, so little time!
Darn it, Hubby took the car with the a/c that WORKS today. Hope it doesn't get too hot, and pray I can find a shady parking space! Our old car blows hot air. Woof!
Well, gotta hit the road ASAP, nevertheless. Hope you all have a great day today. TGIF!!! Will try to get back here after school tonight, but warn you it will be pretty late for you guys! :o]

paula eagleholic said...

Eewwie laying in the BWO nest!

paula eagleholic said...

Geesh Andrea, one would think the book had some pics of some of that stuff!

paula eagleholic said...

Eagle at BWO now

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi!
I'm about to run out the door. Heading for the school library, which, thankfully, IS air conditioned.
Paula, yeah, you would think, huh!
The book has SOME muscles labeled, but the teacher gave us a xerox of a muscle system illustration that has about three times as many muscles indicated, and we have to fill in the blanks. There's a front and a back view. I think the picture may be from when he went to school at UCLA. I'm about to rip my hair out! By the time I've managed to fill in all the blanks (hopefully correctly!), there's not much time to actually study. Thus my dilemma. I'm going to find a decent Anatomy book and spend the day in it! Please continue to pray--if I see the teacher, I may try to explain what's going on to him. I just hope he understands! We start a whole new body system in class tonight, too. The saga continues--MTBR.... Catch you later!

Hi Everyone. Haave not been online for a couple---trying ti uninstall and reinstall new anti-virus programs on both 'puters!!! One went pretty good, but this one had a big glitch-----would NOT completely uninstall old version and techie said we'd have to get Geek squad or be on phone w/a MS techie & would cost $239!!!!Fubby said NOT!! So cancelled that co. & went with a new one & their support was $49!!! Poor guy shadowed it for about 2 hrs, got rid of stuff we didn't even know was still in there and now it's fast as lightening & does have an AV program!!!
I see we still have blue cam & that there have been E visits at BWO.
Just finishing up bulletin boards for reunion. I was all done & had them wrapped, & then they gave me more pics that came in mail!Took banner to meeting Monday & it was a big hit----but no one took it which means I have to go there 3 hrs. early w/set up group! Boo, I am not a morning person.

latest news from NZ.....Giant Pandas

September 15

It has been a quiet summer around the Fujifilm Giant Panda Habitat, except for the Elephant Trails construction next door. Unperturbed, the pandas spend their days resting in the grottos across from the work site. On the hotter days Tian Tian and Mei Xiang hardly have any energy to play. After eating in a pose of bookends side by side, they retreat to their respective favorite spots on or in grottos in opposite yards.

Last week Mei surprised us again by climbing high into the willow tree in her yard. This activity is more common for her during the spring breeding season, to avoid you-know-who! No one could find her in her usual places until we remembered to look up! We all chuckle as we recall the time when Mei disappeared on us shortly after her arrival at the Zoo, by climbing up the mesh on the patio to hang upside down like a bat, from the conduit on the ceiling.

In mid-August we hosted two curators and a veterinarian from the Adelaide Zoo in Australia, which is scheduled to receive giant pandas this year. Pandamania now has an opportunity to spread to a whole new part of the world! We wish them the very best.

Also, last month with the assistance of a very dedicated intern, we started a project to evaluate the effectiveness of our panda enrichment program. We will be evaluating existing activities as well as introducing new objects, or ways of presenting old ones. It is important to evaluate enrichment so that we keep it stimulating for the pandas and ensure that we are doing everything we can to make their day interesting.

It is always rewarding to see how an activity like switching yards stimulates our pandas. Pandas rely on their sense of smell to process their world and to learn about neighboring pandas. When we switch yards, the pandas will spend additional time investigating the marks of those that passed through before them. The pandas will also follow the scent trails of the keepers after food or enrichment has been placed. We also know that rotten wood is very appealing to them. They will scent anoint their bodies with it. Yard switches are considered a very effective form of enrichment as they elicit natural behaviors. We will learn through our study information about other ways to stimulate species-typical behaviors and the curiosity of our pandas.

Lolly said...

Hi all! Interesting, Mits, about the pandas.

Have spent the last morning on the beach. Eat out tonight and head home in the morning. We chose a good week, as it has rained all week at home. Hopefully it will be a good weekend,as another front with rain is expected this next week. Strange Sept. weather! Weather here next week is supposed to be in the 80's, must mean the 70's at home.

Judie said...

All the best of luck Andrea. So sorry learning the material is requiring so much extra effort. Is this something students know ahead of time? Did you all know you would have to search multiple sources for what to learn? What does he do during class time? Why would he give you an incomplete handout?

Mits - thanks so much for the panda education. I had no idea about how the enrichment works.

Yippee! Wanda has a brand new "system" so she's moving fast as lightening which we can see on her new audio-visual system. Hmmm, XP or X-rated?

Back to work on serial killers.

Judie said...

Enjoy dinner out tonight and safe trip home, Lolly.

hedgie said...

Good late day, fine fowl friends.
Finally getting caught up.
Haven't made it through all comments yet, but, before I forget.......
#1 Pizza Casserole was absolutely delicious!!! BIL ate 3 helpings!
He got in shortly after 12 and left about 9:30 this AM--5 more hours of driving to get to his part of NJ.....should be there by now.
Norma---figured if I turned on all 3 lights, the red connotation wouldn't count!!!!
Mits came home form the beach for a couple of days for a funeral, but left puter at beach...but she's back there now.

hedgie said...

Judie, Little Debbie's makes/sells Oatmeal Creme Pies. Know my ex ate them all the time, until he was diagnosed w/ adult onset diabetes! Think my kids like them, too. I DON'T!!!

Lolly said...

Have finished lunch. Heading out to see if there are any ships heading in or out. Also, going Osprey hunting. Saw so many coming in...surely can find some more. Probably will find some since my camera has stopped working.

hedgie said...

Lolly, so sorry about camera difficulties.....hope it's nothing major. My old digital had a button-type battery in addition to the rechargeable battery pack thing. Possibility???

hedgie said...

Mits, very interesting panda info! Thanks for teaching us something new.
Judie, also liked the serial killer profile you posted last night. Reminded me of the old stuff about children who abuse/kill animals.
