Lynn, you and your family have some serious prayers soaring your way. Just know we are all here to support you.

Andy, study hard and take a deep breath. You go girl!!!

Only checked on Diego a couple of times today and was successful. However, got nothing on the nest cam.

Back to folding the last of the laundry. Pretending I don't see the ironing.

Andrea....good SIL! Where does he live and where is he from?

hedgie said...

Thanks, Andy and Judie. Just glad that PapPaws' family can spend time with him before he goes. He was a pharmacist; has a son who's a dr. in NC; a pharmacist daughter and nurse daughter (my SIL's mom) who both live near here. So MeMaw will really face a lot of challenges when he goes. She won't drive any further than church, so I can see some family decisions being made on that front.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Lynn,
Just popped in for a second. You have to admire that little wren--she's got spunk! What a good mama she is! Hopefully she'll eventually realize you're not trying to hurt anybody.

Ms Bookworm said...

Thanks, Judie. (Phew!)
Our old dog solved the ironing problem for us a year before she passed away in 2007. She chewed thru the iron cord, and we just never replaced it. If we get stuff out of the dryer fast enough, nothing's wrinkled much. Just need to remember to set a timer so we catch it on time! If a shirt or something seriously needs creases/wrinkles removed, it goes to the cleaners--for a "press only."
Lynn, my SIL was born in Anaheim, and now lives in Aubrey, TX.

Ms Bookworm said...

Oh--and Lynn, you're right! He's a keeper!
Well, gotta do some damage control with my hair & makeup (don't want to frighten any small children!), and must run and make a bank deposit before the long weekend.
When I get back, must study a while longer. (I'm beginning to LOVE Saturdays!) Will be back here after school tonight....

hedgie said...

Good luck on your test, Andy!!

hedgie said...

Duh.....ever heard of an Ousel????? That's the answer for a crossword clue of "white-collared thrush"----never would have gotten that om my own!!!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well, dudes and dudettes, I am getting ready to head to a meeting, then pack the car and head to Bedford. Will see you from my new place of residence later on tonight!

Good Afternoon - I am getting a new home page for the SD panda cam. Little Diego is alone right now. At four weeks of age he weighs 2.8 pounds (1,259 grams) and is 14.7 inches (37 centimeters) long.

Bai just came back.

Mema Jo said...

Great Sharon! We'll be waiting for you!

Lawn is mowed once again. Also worked in my herb garden. When Jacob was here last he told me the path in the garden needed to be cleared. He could not walk on the path! Nothing like being told by a 4 year old how to garden.

PA Nana said...

Hi everyone and blessings around.
Prayers for those in need/want.
Birthday wishes for Iris, was it?
Don't know her yet, but in time...

BTW - Our local newspaper had a picture and short description of the baby SD Panda. I can imagine the troubles trying to get on the video cam today. Didn't someone say he was on a morning tv progam too? Guess everyone and their brother/sister is trying to get a look at Diego. I had to wait in line too.

Have our eagles checked out the new clear cam?

Go Steelers!
.... later

hedgie said...

Safe travels, Sharon!! See you across the state line!
Lolly, I just BET your path was overgrown...NOT!
Diann, no one has mentioned an eagle sighting since the evening after the lens cleaning!

Well folks, I am heading home to pack up the pups and head to Mom's. Coming back on Sunday for the cookout, then back to Mom's for Monday. I'll pop in if I get a chance...if not, catch ya'll Monday night.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

hedgie said...

Mits, Ceil, Jim and MM----free concert on the beach sometime this weekend....are you going???

hedgie said...

See ya', Paula. Have a good weekend!! Don't labor too hard on Labor Day!

magpie said...

I better hitch on to the So Long Wagon also...

Lynn prayers for PawPaw and his family,
and to all with prayer needs, prayer continued....

I should also add, when talking about my work schedule, that I am grateful for a job that pays pretty well, has benefits, and allows me to pay my bills with a little left over to shop at Goodwill with the grandson!

God Bless our Veterans, and Our Active Military, and their Families...each and every day...

TTFN xoxo I'll be peeking in after midnight for a few minutes...

Judie said...

Quick visit.

Well, I did the ironing afterall. Not much but I really like your solution, Andy.

Sharon, safe trip to Bedford. Hope the weekend is restful.

Paula, enjoy the weekend at Mom's.

Lolly, Jacob would definitely NOT like our backyard. Woods and brush and all sorts of things the birdies love. Have some catbirds that rustle around all the time.

Jo, thanks for the Diego details. Didn't get those numbers from the zoo video.

Off to prepare the pork chops, heat the rice.

Judie

hedgie said...

Bye, Margy. Have a good shift----peaceful, I hope.

magpie said...

I just figured out why my good-byes are two or three rounds long, because my fingers type faster than my mind thinks...

Wanted to wish Safe Travels to all this week-end,
and Yay to all our Teachers, Students, and Megan...who is planning things for students!

Thanks Lynn - hope it IS peaceful...
I hope to read of some Eagle Views when I get home !

..and of course, last but not least,
God Bless Us, Every One

Flock of wild turkeys in PA woods.

Margy - as off to work you go - you stay safe and stay awake at all times!
lol I just don't know how you do it!

stronghunter said...

Lynn, so sorry to hear your sad news. Good that PawPaw has family around him.

On the ironing . . . sometimes I iron, but I do have a little trick I use when I don't get things out of the dryer quickly enough. I just put a dampened towel in with the wrinkled clothes and let the dryer run a little while. Works beautifully. I also have some of that spray stuff that de-wrinkles clothes. You spray it on and press the wrinkles out with your hands.

Brought home some papers to grade. We are already getting messages about how to do grade reports on the new system. Hard to believe that we'll soon be sending out the first reports. Some schools haven't even started yet.

I am not keeping up too well with everyone's news. I will try to do some catching up over the weekend.

OC Boardwalk cams don't show an overly large crowd yet walking or riding the train. Mainly those with the strollers this time of evening. Tonight I'm sure it will be shoulder to shoulder.
Link to OC cams - try to spot Mits,Ceil,MaryMargaret & Jim

I bet they are sitting on the balcony enjoying the view! I wonder if Ceil will go para-sailing with Mits????

Happy birthday, Iris!

Lolly said...

Jack is putting together a castle for Jacob. His birthday is Tuesday and his presents from us arrived today. Little disappointed in the costume, but he will love it. The Castle is really cool. The bad guys are skeletal. Cool! The good guys are knights in blue and silver. I see hours ahead with really neat pretending.

Lolly said...

Forgot...Laurel and family will be here Sunday. Think we will give Jacob his presents then. He will be surprised!

Hubby wants a picnic planned for Monday and I need to make some phone calls to the children. They will probably prefer Sun so they can rest up on Monday! I am retired and flexible!

How's the dolphin count going!

Those of you on facebook...Joey, my SIL, just posted two videos of my two goofy grandsons. If you go to my facebook homepage, you can see the videos. They are really acting silly...typical!

Just saw the cutest pic of Diego being cuddled by his mom.

I hope everyone is still up. Gabby is alive and well. After having gone missing last Sunday, they found him today on the ground. While trying to grab him, he took off and ended up in the river, not good. A fisherman came to the rescue and he and Janie got Gabby. He has already eaten 3 fish.

deb said...

We all had given up hope on Gabby. No more attempts for him, though. He is going back to Idaho and will be an Ed bird.

Mits said...

poor Gabby, maybe you should take him home with you Deb:)

deb said...

I am just so happy he is alive. We thought for sure he wasn't. It has been a bad week, so this makes up for some of the bad.

Mits said...

will glad the decision has been made.....Gabby just want to be with all of you...:)

Mits said...

good night everyone, prayers for all...

Costume Lady said...

Now, Deb, I told you last week that Gabby was faking it. He probably can fly as well as any Osprey...he's pretending not to so that he may stay around you all:)
Glad they decided to keep him as an ED bird:)

Lolly said...

What a story about Gabby. Now to be well taken care of and well fed. Would love for him to fly free, but it is not to be.

Costume Lady said...

Nite Helen (and Ceil, Jim and MM)

deb said...

Gabby was set free 8 times, goofy bird never did get any height when flying. I am glad he is safe now, too, we all got pretty attached to him.

I told Janie to start practicing now, Gabby is a male and we almost always call him a "her". I told her it wouldn't be good to educate all the kids wrong.

Costume Lady said...

Gene was able to go to GeeGee's for dinner and enjoyed the evening.
GeeGee had a handful remedies for him to try, but the best thing for him was 4 ibuprofen, which is helping the swelling to go down

deb said...

I am glad Gene is feeling a little better, Wanda, and that you all got to gather for dinner.

I am off to read.

Night everyone.

Costume Lady said...

Think I will turn out my light and get some sleep.

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL

hedgie said...

Night-night, Beach crew!
Deb, so thankful to hear that Gabby is safe. Had you told us that he was missing?? If so, I missed it! Whew...what a relief you all must be feeling...and thank goodness for the fisherman who helped out. That bird had every chance to make it on his own....now he's just going to have to accept the fact that freedom is out of the question. Rest better now, dear friend.

hedgie said...

Glad that the Capt. is feeling better, Wanda. Goodnight to you and Deb.
I've had a long day, with no nap....so I'm turning in in a few. Talk to you tomorrow. Thanks for all the prayers. Same back to all in need.

Mema Jo said...

I got caught up watching TV reruns of Criminal Minds! Judie would be proud of me!

Gabby - you are what you are! Go ahead and take advantage of all that people love you are getting from special people!

Mema Jo said...

Not sure Ceil but I heard on the news about another water main break and people with water all day long! Maybe they will get it all fixed before you Baltimorians go home.

Good nite all, I fell asleep again with my laptop on my lap. Hitting the sack!

Sweet dreams. Have a fantastic weekend.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Okay, I have finally arrived in Bedford and getting ready to go to bed. My dogs don't know quite what to do yet, or at least Hairy and Scooby. Mopsy and Buphals feel right at home! My butt is dragging.

magpie said...

Welcome Home, Sharon -
say Hi to Thelma and Buddy for me.
And Hairy, Scooby, Mopsy and Buphals...Bow Wow that is, for the pups.
Glad you are done traveling.

Think most everyone has hit the sack, I won't be far behind.

People in the county did not behave tonight...some shameful behavior, too bad people can't get along...

At least there were no fights reported at the local high school football games but I have no idea who won what games.

Glad Gene is doing better, and that Gabby is home safe and sound with his loved ones.

Good Night....
short turnaround for me...

magpie said...

Oh, I see the Hedgesville Eagles got walloped by Clarke Co, VA, and the Martinsburg Bulldogs beat Potomac Falls, which I guess is a team from Virginia.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, everyone,
I'm dragging in to say goodnight--got home from school late tonight, and have all kinds of tough homework to do. Borrowed a better Anatomy book from the teacher, and hope it helps some. Because he doesn't really use only OUR Anatomy book for lectures, tests, etc., the answers to questions could be anywhere BUT in our books!
He even told us to use Wickipedia to find answers. We have a big crossword puzzle to solve by Tuesday. It's really something!
Not sure how I did on the quiz tonight, but don't think anybody did very well. Teacher will drop the three worst test grades, so hope that helps. Need to talk to him--HOW do you learn ALL this info in 12 weeks? (Well enough to answer detailed ESSAY questions, that is?!) I'm going to have to learn all 206 bones of the adult skeleton, know whether they're long bones, short bones, flat bones, or irregular bones; whether they are part of the axial skeleton or the appendicular skeleton, where they are in the body (use MEDICAL terms), and how many of each type of bone there are in the skeleton. Phew! This guy is a slave driver! Please say lots more prayers for me--my brain is just fried! I hope I'm just tired tonight, and it will all look more doable in the morning. I have a test in Pharmacology to study for over the weekend, too! Yikes! Thing is, I have to maintain an 85% grade average to keep my student loan. Keep prayin', you gals & guys!
I think I'm going to go read a bit (anything BUT a school book!), and then try to get some sleep. Prayers being said for all needs, and thanks given for those prayers that have been answered. Talk to all of you in the morning!
G'nite!

magpie said...

Best wishes for success, Andrea...
This sounds extremely demanding, do your best, say your prayers along with ours, and put the whole matter into God's In-Box

I saw a Sea Eagle in the Finney's nest shortly after I had signed off from the Blog early this morning ..also called the White-Tailed Eagle. Will put a picture on the E-M email page.

On another note, I checked the tracking for brother's birthday package...seems like the package made a U-turn and came back to Baltimore on Sept 5 - that's today! And now is "en route to the destination." I'm really hoping there is some kind of error in the message. I am praying it gets carried on the wings of an angel and gets to Naples, Fla sometime today..

I have to get ready to head back to work. See you all much much later on today.

Best wishes for a Great Day
xo ☺ ♥

I also put a few pictures of the Sea Eagle up my link "Feathers, Fur and Misc."

They are a little dark, but I hope you will get the "picture."

stronghunter said...

Hi Wanda!

It was a nice surprise to see both of our favorite eagles this morning.

How are you?

stronghunter said...

Was watching CNN story about the
H1N1 flu. We have just been told that we will get flu shots this fall, but not for H1N1. Okay. I was a little surprised. Wonder what else is out there? I am sure there is something. Wouldn't want to get sick with H1N1 and something else, for sure.

EAGLE ALERT!!!!!!!!

Poof!

Costume Lady said...

And gone again!

stronghunter said...

Seems that we're the only ones here, Wanda.

Costume Lady said...

Shirley, I was processing my video, when I heard the pair of them return. I quickly pulled the "stick" out of the slot and popped it back into the camera. I hope it comes out OK...the little fight scene was entertaining;)
Takes forever to process, but starting it now. BBL

stronghunter said...

Didn't see the fight scene. I suddenly realized they were back. I have some still pics.

I hope you got video of the fight scene.
