Anyone live in/near Dundalk, MD? Water main break and much serious flooding.
Lynn, are you sharing the pizza casserole recipe? 3 helpings seems a good recommendation. I just don't remember oatmeal pies but maybe I just never ate any -- doesn't sound like my taste.
Homicidal triad = red flags for serial killers: enuresis, small arson fires, torture/killing small animals. David Berkowitz (Son of Sam) estimated 1400 arson fires; Jeffrey Dahmer killed animals.
Lolly, did you find some ospreys?
Okay, off to contemplate dinner. I think sauteed talapia with lemon, mixed baby greens salad, oven roasted Yukon golds.
Very serious water main break in Baltimore.........Ceil????? Broening Hwy, Dundalk.....isn't that near where the old GM plant used to be?? Have they torn that down yet? Hope your water stays on!!
09/18/09: Here's a funny shot of a vulture thinking twice about landing while an eagle had the platform. And here's a cute shot of a vulture making itself at home.

Hi all! Weeeeerrrrrrrrre back! Saw a ship going out. Saw a dolphin playing in the ship channel, then drove south to Padre Island and saw one osprey. This one was flying so I was not sure. However, saw a migrating bird poster at the park visitors center and it had the underside of an osprey pictured. Definitely an Osprey! Having a G&T before we go out to eat.
Nope, not another battery in my camera. Will take it to a camera shop when we get home. No sunset pictures, no osprey pictures, how sad! Nice to have a new thread. Thought we were going into the weekend with the old one! Thanks Steve for taking care of us!
Talked with Laurel. Another inch of rain at home. We are hoping for a dry weekend to be able to mow our "Forest".
Lynn, thanks for the train schedule. You have an e-mail.
So happy that it is Friday. Our new computerized gradebook is driving me crazy. I will eventually master it, but today I am not happy with it. It is not my first computerized gradebook, but it is the most complicated. I tried to give a student a grade of 104% on a test, and it would not let me. I do not like to be bossed around by a computer!
When I printed the grade reports, every student got two averages--and they are not the same. The computer techs are trying to figure things out. One came to see me, put in some numbers and I thought the problem was solved. Not yet. At least I know I am not the only one.
I can remember when we figured grades out with a pencil and paper. Really do not want to return to that.
Great pics at BWO. Thanks Mits. Lynn I am not near Dundalk thank heavens and our water should be ok 72 inch main broke. Poor people Luckily no one injured so far. They do have a woman in labor they are trying to get to.
I have a program of my own, but I would have to type in all the names and grades.
We are expected to give students printouts from the computer. They expect to get their averages whenever they want to. Strange thing today--one girl claimed she had turned in a paper that I had recorded as a zero. She showed me the paper, which I am sure she pulled out of her notebook, and I put it in the gradebook. The first average that showed up was lower than the one she had before, but there was also a higher one. She said. I'll take that one!" We can't keep operating this way.
Phooey, just missed Ceil...hope she is BBL but not too much later... me too, BBL that is, going to cook up some grub for Saturday workday. Glad that Hedgie's BIL enjoyed the pizza casserole....and that he found his way in the dark to Lynn's Lair.
PS Where in the world are my manners! I know Megan works everyday, and Paula has been doing the same with her extra work on the house project..and Wanda with the costume shop, and and and and ....sorry didn't mean to be disrespectful....
Hi, Margy. How did your day go? Didn't have scanner turned up today---had turned it down last night when talking w/ Ronnie.......did see an unmarked car on my road today...just routine patrol, I guess, since didn't hear 4 wheelers or motor bikes after school, for a change!
Just returned from eating at a great place, right at the harbor and watched the fishing boats come in. Some of those boats are huge. Watched the yacht boys do their cleaning. Wanted to walk on the docks but the mosquitoes prevented that. Boy are they bad.
Going to settle down now with a book.
By the way, Lynn or Margy...please email me the pizza casserole recipe. Sounds like something the boys would like. I do not think I saved it. Thank you!!!!!!
I haven't read any comments just got on computer. Went back to eye doctor because I was living in the dark like a bat. 1st cataract surgery in July right eye has an infection. That is what has been causing the pain to glare and systoms I've been having. So drops drops drops and more drops..but the best is it will get better yea ( :
Thanks Lolly and Megan...he said it will. I was very happy to hear this wasn't the final results. Sorry Lolly you had an infection after your surgery but glad to hear it got better.
Lolly sounds like you are having fun; just read comments on this thread.
I have been wearing dark glasses outside and inside the house since the 1st surgery in July lol Today Ed opened the shade alittle in the kitchen. I yelled, "Please close that I can't stand it anymore". I just wanted to be in the dark...that made me call the doctor. So I'm still into dark glasses inside and outside the house. I just don't sleep in them lol
Lolly, what did you have good to eat out?? You and Dana have mail! Dana, glad you saw the doc and are now on the mend! Did you have any other symptoms besides the light sensitivity?
Shirley, I use two systems for calculating/recording grades -- Blackboard an Excel. Sorry you are having aggravations with computer and grading. Do ya think there was a bit of cheating going on? Oh yea! Way of life for too many young people today.
Lolly, enjoy your book and happy you enjoyed dinner out.
Dana, so very happy you found out the reason for the eye problem and that you have some medication to help with healing. You'll be lookin' at us and the nest clearly in no time at all.
Guess mom took Diego out to star gaze as nest is empty. Can't wait for his eyes and ears to open -- any day now, I think.
Probably going to have a visit from the sandman soon so turning off my light but leaving night light on for others -- hope Andrea comes in with a test report.
Lynn three cardiac arrests/natural causes deaths in the first two hours. Then one severely battered young man, was flown out...not sure what happened there, should be story in the Herald Mail at least, and probably the Journal. Gets discouraging sometimes...
We were one person short and I had a roomful of trainees, two regular dispatchers, and two paremedic student observers...I felt like a one-man show there at times, (just supervising the others) hopping from person to person, but the day went fast.
Got a scowl from one young person over something unexpected, I simply had to say: Hey give me a break - I'm a one-person show here ... brought some chuckles which is the best way for it to be. Maybe I am getting too old for this stuff....
Yes I had others systoms; pain in eye like a grain of sand was in there and when you move eye around pain is terrible, colors too bright, squinting a lot, pain in bone at eyebrow, not being able to be on computer, watch tv or read the paper without a lot of discomfort and having to wear dark glasses inside house. Which I'm still wearing .
Holey Moley, Dana, that sounds awful! Prayers that this is the beginning of the end of that misery! Hugs and Love to Ed, too...glad he enjoys his reading.
Judie A question can a serial killer be one that kills a girlfriends pets, tear her clothing up, hurt himself so people feels sorry for him telling girlfriend "he needs you", he could also be one that would be unpleaseant with his mother and break her things up? Don't know about bedwetting. Threaten to hurt girlfriends children if she trys to leave him. Even calls 911 saying he told overdose and have the mental ward calling her to come up to see him? I believe she said that he had an older woman as a girlfriend and he held her heart meds from her and she died. Her dr. believed he did this but couldn't prove it. Dr. said because it could be said that the woman just didn't take her heart meds as should but he didn't believe that he still felt and so did her daughter that the guy held her meds. and she died. Could this person be a serial killer?
I did take hike after work to Swinging Bridge, it was quiet there, saw one hummingbird which was a BIG LITTLE surprise, and one kingfisher, then found some more New England Aster and Ironweed coming out, and some really cool Milkweek buds, one covered in little orange and black bugs, I guess, they were milkweed bugs! I'll get that posted here shortly.
Oh Oh this is for some sweetie on the thread....."manly card" tee hee he smile and laugh thank you for the heart of kindness God gave this person M A R G Y zxxooooxxxx
Funny thing about cards. A few years ago I was lamenting the lack of Veterans Day cards, and thought it was an opportunity waiting to happen....but the card companies must have read my mind and stole my idea, but thankfully, now there are many nice ones to choose from...
Margy great grandson was over and it was on the table. I ask him what it was and he kept saying "truck truck truck" lol We all even pappy laughed...thank you for the laughs Margy. I love laughter in my house.
Well, friendly folks, my parting shot for the night is on my Feathers, Fur and Miscellaneous link - some pretty cool milkweed pods and some interesting insects...I am not an entomologist so I can't name the bugs...but they are up close and personal.
Good Night, everyone...Hope the Sleep is restful and Sweet... God Bless Us, Every One xo ☺ ♥
Before you all go to bed...I cannot open your emails (you know who you are) I click on the email and it just sits there and blinks at me. If it's real important, tell me on here, or call me. I will reboot this thing and try again. SORRY I guess I'd better say good night, just in case this part of the 'puter fails me!
I see I missed mostly everyone. I stopped at the store on the way home and got a few groceries. Then I watched Jay and/or the Twins-Tigers game. Lots of switching back. Twins Win, I hope they keep going, but even if they were to make the play-offs, they would be out quick. MHO!
Goodnight, Jo and Wanda....hope rebooting fixes your problem, Wanda. Did you have a nice GeeGee evening?? I'm turning in, too. See you all tomorrow. Peaceful rest, and blessings prayed for all.
Good Evening, Everyone! Bet I'm the only one here, it's so late, but wanted to let you know I got thru the Anatomy test OK. Felt pretty good about it. Still don't know if the muscle names were correct, though. Used 4 different textbooks, and a book of autopsy pictures (and I have no idea how many websites) to get the answers to the muscle names. Every picture looked different from the others, and I just hope they're all correct, because I've been studying them! Will go see the teacher right away next week and have him check them for correctness. Judie, you were asking what the teacher does in class. He gives us a quiz or test first thing, which takes about 20-30 min., 3-4 pgs.long, always essay questions and maybe one section with complicated matching questions. You can't guess on an answer, you gotta know the material like the back of your hand! Then he gives us about 3 or 4 handouts of homework that average 3-4 pages each, and maybe a couple of handouts of info not covered in the book, to study for tests. He gives us a slide presentation which we have to write down as class notes, and he often branches out from them and gets into more detailed info which we need to write down, too. We may watch an hour-long film or video, which will be covered on the test. The tests/quizzes are NEVER on stuff from the textbook (if it's in the book, it's a coincidence). They're ALL from class notes or what's discussed in class AND what's on the homework sheets and info sheets. My gripe is that the muscle system illustrations he gave us had a BUNCH of muscles (63 total!)on them that WE had to label, although the names were listed at the edge of the page in alphabetical order. The xerox was very dark and hard to see. I think he should have had them correctly labeled so we could study them, KNOWING they were correct. That way I would not have had to spend hours and hours on the internet trying to find appropriate pictures showing the right muscles! I ended up in the school library today looking thru pictures of autopsies that had muscles labeled in order to find all of them. It's VERY interesting, but SO time consuming! I think the problem is that this teacher is EXTREMELY intelligent, my guess probably a genius, and he doesn't realize that what's super easy for him, might not be easy for us! He used to spend hours and hours at Barnes & Noble, studying and doing nothing much else when he was in Med School. Wish I had that kind of time! With about 2 to 2 1/2 hours of notes (written so fast we all have writer's cramp!) to study AND the homework, it's a real stinker of a class! Gosh, our Mid-term is in 2 weeks--on 150 medical terms we haven't discussed yet in class, but have on one of his handouts. I have to study for my Pharmacology class, too! Phew! See why I'm going bonkers? I'll just be glad to get through this semester! An English essay would be a piece of cake right now! Well, I've really rambled on--sorry about that! Will say goodnight now, and go crash! Prayers for all, particularly where healing is needed. Sleep tight, with eagle dreams! G'night! :o]
Early Good Morning, Eagle Friends. Gee, today looks like the perfect day for a Hawk Watch! Skies here are prefectly clear and all the good stars and planets are out. I don't know if the Watch went off Friday morning, but with the leftover clouds and fog and I kind of think not....
I think this is Loretta's Reunion day...Best Wishes, NN !
Our Southern Delegation was absent yesterday....unless I missed a post somewhere...Hope all is well with our folks there.
Time to get ready for another day at 9-1-1. See in the newspaper that the man who was assaulted also had a gunshot wound to the head :( Not good.
Wanda I am going to snail-mail you my two emails, some suggestions for Open House :)
Here's best wishes for a Stellar Day in all our Eagle Corners...see you much much later on this evening.
Good morning, Margy. Have a quiet day. Check out the escapee, last name Paul, in WA. State -- so incredibly stupid to take a violent criminal on a field trip.
Good morning to all who are yet to arrive.
Dana, by definition you are not describing a serial killer. I think you are describing a combination of behaviors associated with Borderline Personality Disorder (fear of separation/being left alone) suggested by threats, self-injury for attention/sympathy, saying he needs her)and Narcissistic Personality Disorder (inflated self-image, etc.). People with NPD often respond to rejection with rage suggested by the threats to harm others, killing of pets, possible homicide). Although you are not describing a serial killer, you are describing a dangerous person. I know my response was long for the blog but it is actually just an overview.
Andrea, sure doesn't seem like any class I've taken or taught. Maybe the instructor really doesn't realize what the students are having to do. Of course, that may be the goal -- best students rise to the expectations. Since you are doing well in the course, asking him would not be a complaint or whining so it might not hurt. In any case, I really applaud you for all the time and effort. My best, very best students are the older, non-traditional.
I think I'll try for a little extra sleep now. Worn myself out and probably those who may read this. Sorry for talking so much.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!---Oh what a BEAUTIFUL MORNING---Oh what a BEAUTIFUL DAY...This is going to be a GLORIOUS FALL day to ENJOY!---Leaves are turning & showing their autumn colors--take a walk in the woods -- with a child---take a deep breath & give THANKS for this WONDERFUL WORLD WE LIVE IN---smell a flower & watch a KICK OFF today!!!---WVU is playing AUBURN at 8:05 this evening!----AUBURN IS TOUGH---GO!--MOUNTAINEEERS!
I am feeling rested. Slept until George insisted I feed him. Bird in one feeder and squirrel in the other. Some of the birds have come to complain to me about that darn squirrel. They want me to re-apply the oil on the post to squirrel--proof their feeding station.
Andrea, I used you as an example yesterday with one of my 11th graders. He was complaining that he has learned nothing in school that will help him in life. (One of my dual enrollment kids, at that!)
I asked what he wants to do in life, and he said he didn't know. He complained that he didn't think knowing the parts of a frog would do him any good, and I told him about a friend of mine who is going to work in the medical field and is having to learn all of the human body parts.
No epiphany, for him, I am sure, but maybe it made a small impression. Sometimes I just tell them that it is wonderful to know as much as possible about everything they can possibly learn.
Ahh youth--some haven't figured out that you can't know what you want to do if you don't know anything about what's out there.
Judie, we are using Power School, and it is new for us this year. I was using Easy Grade Pro last year, which I bought myself and learned to use on my own. I was allowed to do that last year, but will have to use the school's program now. Could back it up by checking with the other system and may do that!
The problem seems to be when we enter the grading percentages--tests 40%, quizzes 35%, and daily grades 25%, then the term percentages--term 1 40%, term 2, 40% and exam 20%, it isn't holding all of that info. I will have to play with it some more. I am sure it just needs me to click on something else. We are getting all kinds of advice from the central office about avoiding illegal symbols, just stick to alpha-numeric ones. Ain't put nothing but numbers and letters in the dang thing!
Sorry about carrying on so long.
Interesting info about dangerous people, Dana and Judie.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... Yes, Norma, it is going to be a BEAUTIFUL, Fall day. Get outdoors and enjoy it! Judie, we appreciate and enjoy your comments on the various subjects we come up with...space is no problem:) I am still busy with shop stuff, so I just came on to wish you all a great weekend:)
BRAG TIME!!---2 yr old GS--SAM--was chosen: STUDENT OF THE MO at his LUTHERAN DAY SCHOOL----"SAM is one of our 2 yr olds with a hilarious personality! His favorite food is cheese & he loves playing with his best bud REECE & the trucks. He often wraps his arm around REECE'S shoulder & pats him on the back telling him he's his best bud, he is so sweet!"
It is beautiful here this morning, too. I have a great variety of birds visiting--titmice, chickadees, cardinals, goldfinches, Carolina wrens. My baby dogwoods are getting redder every day. I love dogwoods.
MORNIN' -SHIRLEY & WANDA!---I was afraid I might find myself in JUDIE'S column!--kiddin'!---The weather is a bit cool this am--54°----We will keep dancing MEGAN---RAIN is forecast for tomorrow & Mon----Guess LOLLY sent us some RAIN!!!!
BAI--was washing DIEGO--& then she began to push the straw up around him---left for a min---came back & took that 'little bundle of joy' with her!!---star watching???---
Good morning! Jack is hitching up and I am cleaning up, so just have time to get on and say "Good morning, and have a great day!"
Quickly...on another subject. I had a kindergartener that was a problem. He was strange. His mother told me he had swung their puppy around by his feet and let go! Few years later I had his younger sister. Sweet girl! Saw her the other day working at Lowes. Asked about her brother.......he is in prison.
I bet I could name another one or two that are there or probably should be! Isn't that a shame!
Gotta go. I'll be back tonight. Have a great day!!!
Shirley, enjoy Hunter's football game and let us know the score! Not famiar with Power School but am very familiar with the "why do I have to?"
Hi Mits and Wanda. Wanda, take it easy. How's Capt. Gene?
Loretta, I bet the weather is as good as the food your prepared -- have a lovely reunion.
Norma, congratulations on Sam being Student of The Month. I'm with Shirley and suspect there's a little byrd named Norma having some influence.
Dana, hope you and Ed and have nice day and the eye discomfort eases up.
Going to check on Diego -- was alone a few minutes ago. Then on to a bit of laundry, ironing, making cole slaw and cucumber salad. After all that I get to resume my school work.
Susan is coming down to attend the game. We were supposed to celebrate Kathryn's birthday this evening, but Will has to work, so I postponed it. Kathryn and Susan will have fun together today.
Sometimes when we see the red flags and report them, there is not so much that can be done or is done.
Had a student who told me he was going to go home and stab his stepfather if he got any more grief from the man. I called in immediate help and the family wasn't particularly concerned. Kid was back in class before the block was over.
I am right here, Judie reading you all loud and clear. Good Morning my eagle buddies Hubby is loading the car with picnic goodies! He has 3 brothers that get together throughout the year but us gals don't get to do that so we have lots of catching up to do! Plus one of the best parts are the grandkids & great grandkids getting together! Have I ever told you that I L♥VE FAMILIES !
Good Morning, Everyone! Wow, I could go for a helping of that potato salad! YUM!!! Jumping in here to say 'hi' before I gotta run. Hubby & I are meeting my sister-in-law for breakfast at the Wyndham Hotel, where she has a bridal show to be at today. Should be fun! Judie, I've never had a class taught quite like this Anatomy class, either! Thanks for your insight--you are probably right! I think he's looking at how hard we are trying to do well in the class. Don't worry--I'm determined to hang in there! Dana, hope your eyes are quickly improving! More prayers said. Makes my heart ache to hear that the leaves are turning back there and I'm SO far away! If anyone has some pictures, please post them and share! I'll be forever grateful! Miss the change of seasons. High desert trees haven't started to change color yet--weather's been too hot so far. Have a fantastic Saturday, and I'll report back later... :o]
Norma, you are so right. Well, I hope Jo has a terrific day with family and potato salad and hope Loretta has a day that's as good as a reunion with Jo's potato salad.
Oh, just in case anyone needs something to go along with the potato salad -- I'm making Maryland style crab cakes for dinner.
Sharon, just curious -- have you received your train tickets, yet?
Will do, Judie. Her actual birthday is Sept. 22. We have a bunch of birthdays coming up.
Children are picking the dandelion flowers in my backyard. Sweet. Three little boys. (Don't tell Lolly I have dandelions.)They ran off like they had stolen them!
Judie, I have always appreciated the adults who come back to school in my college classes as well. They are almost always determined to get their money's worth of education. I am priviledged to work with some of those people who are now on the staff at my school. It is rewarding to see what they are doing with their education.
Andy, glad you feel positive about exam! Still can't believe how hard these courses are! Judie and Shirley, you both deserve so much credit for still enjoying teaching in this day and age! Young people sure aren't what they used to be! Norma, little Sam sounds like a keeper! Hope Loretta is having a ball at her class reunion---she really put alot of work into it. And know that Jo is the center of attention at the family reunion!
Hunter's game is over. They lost 10-6, but it seems that one of their touchdowns was called back, and many think it should not have been. One more game. I will try to make it to that one.
My oldest son Rus got there for the very ending. He is the reason Hunter is playing, so I am happy he made it. Bless Rus, he is my smart one, but not the most punctual of my children. Do not tell him this, but we often tell him an event starts at 3:00 if we are planning to start at 5:00.
Got it, Shirley..thanks! Judie, send some crab cakes and cukes this way, please!!! Sounds perfect. I'm out of cukes again! Do have some salmon, so could make salmon cakes----talked myself right in to that!
September 17 2009 Panda Cubs Teethe, Too! Our newest panda had his third veterinary exam on Thursday, September 17. Now 43 days old, the little cutie weighs 5.1 pounds (2.318 kilograms), which is an increase of 1.2 pounds (0.5 kilograms) from last week, and is 15.75 inches (40 centimeters) long. His eyes and ears have not opened yet. His teeth are just below the gum line but have not yet erupted. Compared to our previous cubs, he is one roly-poly dude!
Had a great time at the picnic in the park - such a beautiful weather day! Food was delicious - love the side dishes brought in by family! Going to put my feet up after I read what went on here this afternoon.
Deb, I like those chickens, too! They are always on sale at Food Lion on Thursdays. Carry your cancelled check with you so if you get stopped you can prove you paid for your sticker!

Thank you for the fresh thread, Steve.
Any idea of how long in order for the router to be fixed that the Still Cam
will be up/running?
Quiet day - I'll leave word for others
to head on over.
thanks for the call over, Jo....from what I have been reading about routers, that should be a fast easy fix....
Good Afternoon, Steve. Thanks for the fresh thread!
Router might have gone kaput! They are not the easiest things to work with on a network.
Catch ya'll later.
Thank you, Steve. Have a nice evening!
Thanks, Jo for calling everyone over.

got to BWO site to check out these neat pics:)

Those photos are all great. Love the last one of the eagle couple on the platform............

Nice to have a new thread. Thought we were going into the weekend with the old one! Thanks Steve for taking care of us!
Talked with Laurel. Another inch of rain at home. We are hoping for a dry weekend to be able to mow our "Forest".
Hello!
Good to hear from you Ceil. Glad you are not flooded. It looks like an awful mess.
Shirley it is a mess.
Diego all alone
Jeopardy question about pandas!
Shirley,Did you answer correctly
I certainly did!
Question was what bear has a baby that is only (don't recall the number, but something like 1/300) the size of the mother?
Right after the comment about Diego.
Good. I probably would have gotten it wrong. LOL
Guess that was the answer, since one has to provide the question. I should have said, "What is a panda?"
I am sure you would have gotten it Ceil.
Right. I just yell the answer. Confusing. Never will make Jeopardy
Before I forget. Who has rooms at the Clarion for Open House? I want to see if they will give us a discount. We are a group.
I am at the Clarion. There are 4 of us.
Already have a senior citizen discount. Do not know how many discounts I can get, but I will take the biggest one.
Shirley are you there Friday and Saturday. One room?
Friday and Saturday. One room.
Shirley, thanks. Looking forward to meeting you.
1/800th, I think the answer said!!! Smallest mammal baby in comparison to mothers' size! I got it right,, too!
And the cutest little bears
well of course you all would get the right answer, you are panda moms too:)
Lynn, I am sure you are right! The Blogger grabbed my first answer. May cause me to repeat myself.
Looking forward to meeting you, too, Lynn.
Shirley, bet you could average out the grades faster w/ a calculator. Sometimes computer programs make things too complicated!
Mits you are right. We love our pandas.
I meant to say Ceil, but I am looking forward to meeting both of you. Brain is not working very well.
Shirley Lynn's looking forward to meeting you also. LOL
BBL
I have a program of my own, but I would have to type in all the names and grades.
We are expected to give students printouts from the computer. They expect to get their averages whenever they want to. Strange thing today--one girl claimed she had turned in a paper that I had recorded as a zero. She showed me the paper, which I am sure she pulled out of her notebook, and I put it in the gradebook. The first average that showed up was lower than the one she had before, but there was also a higher one. She said. I'll take that one!" We can't keep operating this way.
Hi Evening Eagle and Panda Pals
Welcome Back Ceil and Mits...missed your friendly and informative comments.
Happy Week-end for teachers and office workers and everyone....that should cover it. I know Deb works Saturday...I do too!
xo ♥ ☺
Phooey, just missed Ceil...hope she is BBL but not too much later...
me too, BBL that is, going to cook up some grub for Saturday workday. Glad that Hedgie's BIL enjoyed the pizza casserole....and that he found his way in the dark to Lynn's Lair.
BBIALW
Panda nap time.
PS
Where in the world are my manners!
I know Megan works everyday, and Paula has been doing the same with her extra work on the house project..and Wanda with the costume shop, and and and and ....sorry didn't mean to be disrespectful....
Well, how rude, Margy!
Hi ALL in Eagleland
I haven't read any comments just got on computer.
Went back to eye doctor because I was living in the dark like a bat.
1st cataract surgery in July right eye has an infection. That is what has been causing the pain to glare and systoms I've been having. So drops drops drops and more drops..but the best is it will get better yea ( :
Yea, Dana! Glad you went to the doctor with that eye. Remember, I had an infection in my eye right after surgery. Not fun!
Off to read. BBL
Oh, sorry to hear that, Dana. But at least you know why you were having such problems. Hope it gets better quick.
Thanks Lolly and Megan...he said it will. I was very happy to hear this wasn't the final results.
Sorry Lolly you had an infection after your surgery but glad to hear it got better.
Lolly sounds like you are having fun; just read comments on this thread.
Please email me also the pizza dish. Maybe it will be something new Ed will like.
Dana - so glad you didn't sit around and just hope it was getting better.
Now you know it will get better.
Well - picnic potato salad is finished and it turned out so good!
Dana - I had asked earlier as to
What does Ed like to read?
Good night all. I am tired. See you tomorrow.
Nite Shirley
Mema Jo he reads westerns of which he has loads and loads to read, thank you.
I have been wearing dark glasses outside and inside the house since the 1st surgery in July lol
Today Ed opened the shade alittle in the kitchen.
Hi everyone,
Shirley, I use two systems for calculating/recording grades -- Blackboard an Excel.
G'nite everyone.
Judie
Goodnight, Shirley.
Good going, Dana - way to persevere...hope that all things will be back to normal by October 16-17-18 ! ☼ ☺
Everytime I use those Special Alt Characters, I think of our Special Red /Bill...!
Lynn
three cardiac arrests/natural causes deaths in the first two hours.
Good night, Judie.
Geesh, Margy....rough ones.
Got a scowl from one young person over something unexpected, I simply had to say: Hey give me a break - I'm a one-person show here ... brought some chuckles which is the best way for it to be. Maybe I am getting too old for this stuff....
Enough about work!
Yikes, Margy, sounds like a very long day.
Ceil has not made it back but she will happy to read that I made some cream cheese and olives...☺
plus some mashed potatoes and a pile of cheese salad! I will just eat my way through the day tomorrow.
Holey Moley, Dana, that sounds awful! Prayers that this is the beginning of the end of that misery! Hugs and Love to Ed, too...glad he enjoys his reading.
Judie
A question can a serial killer be one that kills a girlfriends pets, tear her clothing up, hurt himself so people feels sorry for him telling girlfriend "he needs you", he could also be one that would be unpleaseant with his mother and break her things up?
I had fun making that one, Dana...
let me tell you, Manly cards are sometimes hard to come by ! ☺ I am always happy to hear of laughter....
That's sweet, Dana....thanks...
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ☺ ♥
I am out of here hope I can check tomorrow to see what Judie thought about the comment.
Night all
Prayers for those that need them
Thankful for prayers given for Ed and I/me ( :
Bet you were busier than a one-armed paper hanger, Margy!
Sleep well, Margy and Dana!
Big Picnic Afternoon tomorrow so I best get back the hall to bed.......
Good Night All
Peace to All
Prayers for All
(((hugs to all))) ♥
Before you all go to bed...I cannot open your emails (you know who you are) I click on the email and it just sits there and blinks at me. If it's real important, tell me on here, or call me. I will reboot this thing and try again. SORRY
I guess I'd better say good night, just in case this part of the 'puter fails me!
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
I see I missed mostly everyone.
Margy, that was quite a day you had--too much stress!
Lynn, I assume your BIL found you and I missed the post somewhere.
Jo, too bad I am not close enough for some potato salad!
I am sure I missed some comments, but my tired brain is going to bed.
Night, everyone.
Well, I said I would be back, and here I am and everyone has gone to bed. I fell asleep myself reading. Now off to bed to really sleep.
Nite all!
Sweet dreams! Oh, Lynn, I had fried fish and shrimp! Good ol fried food that I do not get very often. lol

Prayers and Hugs.
xo ☺ ♥
Good morning!
Judie, we appreciate and enjoy your comments on the various subjects we come up with...space is no problem:)
I am still busy with shop stuff, so I just came on to wish you all a great weekend:)
I'm sure his grandma has something to do with that personality, Norma!
LORETTA----Perfect weather for your REUNION!!---We will want to hear all about it tomorrow!!---GOOD WEATHER!---ENJOY!!
SHIRLEY!---Thanks for the thought--he is in FL---don't get to see him that often---but he is a loving kid!
BAI--was washing DIEGO--& then she began to push the straw up around him---left for a min---came back & took that 'little bundle of joy' with her!!---star watching???---
WANDA!---Don't forget to stop & take a break!----Pray that CAPT is all well!---To an outsider--your job seems to be a FUN job!!
OH DANA!---I am so happy you have found out why you were having such pain!---Prayers for both you & ED!
Pray your eye will heal soon!!!
GREAT to have MITS back too!---
good morning everyone...have a good one
people are walking by the Finney nest....
Yes, Dana, I am glad you found out there was a reason you were in such pain and discomfort.
they are taking pics of the nest and waving
It puts a perspective on those trees. They are not so big.
guy in white hat is on the phone
Using a cell phone?
yes, Shirley, they are all gone now...
Must get ready for Hunter's football game.
eagle at BWO
Good morning, eagle at BWO.
Eagle at BWO is gone, there is an Eagle at WW in the upper left had corner. Right now it is just a shadow.
Now that the sun is coming up at WW, I see my Eagle isn't an eagle at all.
MORNIN' DEB!---I hope you are having as beautiful weather in SD as we are in WV!!!---TOO BEAUTIFUL!!
Don't know that I will make the football game. Having digestive problems. Need to stay near home right now.
MORNIN' LOLLY---Your story is sad but it is so true---used to have those discussions with my Dad!!--Have a safe journey home!!!
Later
SHIRLEY---if you aren't feeling well---don't go---you have been under a lot of pressure at school!
take care---
Quickly back.
Shirley, hope you feel better quickly enough to see Hunter's game.
Lolly, so sad we miss (or don't know) the red flags. Safe to home!
Where's Jo?
Judie
Susan is coming down to attend the game. We were supposed to celebrate Kathryn's birthday this evening, but Will has to work, so I postponed it. Kathryn and Susan will have fun together today.
JUDIE--JUDIE--JUDIE! You folks are too kind---thanks--
Sometimes when we see the red flags and report them, there is not so much that can be done or is done.
Had a student who told me he was going to go home and stab his stepfather if he got any more grief from the man. I called in immediate help and the family wasn't particularly concerned. Kid was back in class before the block was over.
I feel really blessed this am---I got to watch DIEGO & BAI interacting---BAI should be elected BEST PANDA MOMMA - 2009!-- such loving tender care----
It is so interesting to see something so big being so tender with something so small.
BBL
Hi Jo, you are always such a bright spot on the blog.
JUDIE---I think today is when MEMA JO'S family is having a picnic!!---I remember her making 'homemade' potato salad!---
tv's at BWO
JO!--You are so lucky---to have such a large loving family!---ENJOY!--
Norma, it is beautiful here today too!
P.S.~~ Jo, hope you have a wonderful family day today! Eat some potato salad for me, OK? YUM!
TOM LORSUNG has a good pic of the EAGLES at BLACKWATER!----VULTURES ARE ENJOYING THAT SITE TOO!!
ANDREA!---you sound like my DAU!--She loves FL--But misses the FALL SEASON!!---keep reminding her the SNOW follows the AWESOME LEAVES!!
Dogwood leaves--Andy, you gave me a palm tree. Here is a dogwood.
Shirley, say happy birthday to Kathryn, please.
By now, she must have enough tickets for all of us, Judie.
Will do, Judie. Her actual birthday is Sept. 22. We have a bunch of birthdays coming up.
Children are picking the dandelion flowers in my backyard. Sweet. Three little boys. (Don't tell Lolly I have dandelions.)They ran off like they had stolen them!
Thanks for the birthday wish for Kathryn, Judie. Kathryn is my second oldest.
Judie, I have always appreciated the adults who come back to school in my college classes as well. They are almost always determined to get their money's worth of education. I am priviledged to work with some of those people who are now on the staff at my school. It is rewarding to see what they are doing with their education.
Dana, I do hope you are better today.
Hi gang! Sounds like so many have big plans for the day! Enjoy. It certainly is beautiful here.
Hello, Lynn.

Good morning,

Jim
Shirley, please email me with last names for Kat, Suzi and Hunter for name tags!!!
Lynn, you have e-mail.
Hi, Jim! How's everything in sunny CA?
Got it, Shirley..thanks!
Judie, send some crab cakes and cukes this way, please!!! Sounds perfect. I'm out of cukes again! Do have some salmon, so could make salmon cakes----talked myself right in to that!
Ceab cakes, salmon cakes--both sound good!
I am going to shower and head over to Kathryn's for lunch.
BBL!
Crab cakes, that is.
hI, Hedgie.
It is definitely on the warm and humid side. They're predicting 87° this P.M.
In a few days though there will come another Santa Ana condition with all the desert winds....

Diego is alone and upright.
I don't know if the eyes are open or not yet, but I just saw some muscle movements as though he were trying to open them. shouldn't be long.

Jim, sure hope the Santa Ana's don't stir up any more fires!
Bai's baby is just so precious! Eyes must surely be opening very soon now!
Here are the most recent stats:
September 17 2009
Panda Cubs Teethe, Too!
Sure looks like he's trying to get up on those knees to try to crawl!
Diego next to mom. He is so cute.
Pssst....hey, everybody....just saw on Facebook that it's Thelma's BIRTHDAY!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR THELMA,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
I have Thelma's birthday marked on our calendar as JUNE 5.
I like that description of a
Roly-Poly Dude Diego
Had a great time at the picnic in the park - such a beautiful weather day!
Food was delicious - love the side dishes brought in by family!
Going to put my feet up after I read what went on here this afternoon.
Jo...do you have her as a friend? If so, look at todays' posts!
Lunch time here. I bought one of those rotisserie chickens last night, so I had some chicken, they were on sale cheap!
I was supposed to have gotten my license plate stickers in August, I am just a little late!
Knew you would have a great time today, Jo!! How big of a crowd did you have?
Deb, I like those chickens, too! They are always on sale at Food Lion on Thursdays. Carry your cancelled check with you so if you get stopped you can prove you paid for your sticker!
I wish I could, I forgot to go and get it. BBL
You are going to get nabbed DEB
We better start praying for you right now!!! lol
Hubby and I get the roasted chicken at least once every 2 weeks if not more often. When on sale for $4 - $5 it is an easy two meals for us.
Lynn- There were about 40 attending gigive or take a few. Best part was that all 4 brothers (hubby + 3) were there with us wives.
That's great, Jo! Fun, fun, fun!
Oh, no, Deb!!! You are just too busy....shall we send bail money???
