Well, I taught kindergarten....so it really was special for me to get to particpate. LOL Did not do it this year. Read in the paper...this year graduation was on the HS principal's birthday. Each grad handed the principal a cup cake when they walked across the stage! LOL He collected several hundred cupcakes. You gotta love it!
are there any settings on this blog thingie so that I can get the new posts first? at hte top? all this zooming up and now when I refresh keeps a gal so busy LOL
Ah, graduation....so-o-o long ago....my high school graduation was in DAR Constitution Hall; we had a class of 500+; our Baccalaureate was at the National Cathedral. College, on the other hand, was held on the quad in bright, HOT sun---it was miserable! Both of my girls had theirs in the gym; youngests' college grad was also in a gym! She, by the way, graduated from my alma mater---way cool!
mine was miserably hot...held it in the Roanoke Civic Center and the air wasn't working right, if at all...and back then we wore the really heavy cotton robes, not the featherwieght polyesters of today...very uncomfortable underneath!
But the Doobie Bros. played at our graduation party, so all was well!
When my daughter graduated from college the robes were disposables! Can you believe that??? Paula, shrimp sounds delicious! May try it while the company is here.
Mom and sis are leaving St. Louis at 8am. Taking the scenic route--Rt. 50! It's going to be a long trip. They are taking 2 days. Columbia, SC zoo had an ape escape! He climbed out on a piece of bamboo overhanging the fence. Injured a worker (not seriously) and after about 5 min. freedom, he climbed back into his enclosure! The zoo director said the ape was more scared than people were!
I've been up and down a couple of times tonight, and I don't think I ever said "good night."
I've been "watching" Pete's Pond, which is having troubles transmitting their video. Afke, a lady who works in the camera "hide" there, is able to make and post captures on their FaceBook, and of course there is some commentary in the blog...she carefully identifies each animal pictured, which is a delight.
Anyway, I switched over to Finney's, and she was standing and apparently feeding the chicks. I could easily see the heads of two chicks at the right side of the bowl, and just possibly she was feeding a smaller one to their left... hard to be sure with the d...n 30 sec refresh sometimes. She could have been getting more food for the two older ones.
I tried to make a screen capture, but I pressed a wrong button, and by the time I got back, she was settling back down on them.
Good morning, Paula, I just looked at Finney's again, and it does refresh at about 10-15 secs., but it often "skips" one or two refreshes, as it just did, and it ends up being at least 30 secs. ... annoying when you're trying to do something or see something specific.
Have you seen a third chick ... or the egg ... Paula??
I haven't got to see Hidey all weekend, guess I'm getting on at the wrong times! Thank's to ya'll for letting me know that He/She has been there! Paula, you got me wanting bacon wrapped shrimp now,THANKS ALOT
Lolly . . . you might not be here right now, but I just read your comments about graduation. Yes, the high school faculty is required to be there.
It's a work day for us--or a part day. We are seated in a horseshoe around the senior class. We get to monitor the beach balls, etc. This year there was only one that popped up, and it looked like a kid grabbed it because it immediately disappeared.
I saw one boy blowing up a balloon, and he was having trouble. Since they were awarding diplomas to the w's, I motioned to him to wait, and he said he would.
They are allowed to throw balls, balloons, hats, etc., as soon at they are declared graduates. They are asked to wait out of respect for their classmates. It worked very well this year. It's fun to see all the celebrating they do at the end.
I don't think the one who was having trouble with his balloon ever got it blown up. I am always surprised at how well they keep everything concealed until the end. Those gowns hide a lot.
Oh... I am sorry magpie! Yes, I saw the adult in the nest. I got sidetracked working on updating my homepage and this window got buried.
Good Morning everyone else!
I've asked before and I PROMISE I won't ask after this, can someone give me the link to the Snowman Cam? Pretty please... I seem to be having trouble keeping all my links in order. :)
GOOD MORNIN' EAGLE BUDDIES!---The SUN is shining BRIGHTER this am than it has in the last mo!!---blue skies---singing birds---blooming flowers---Red Headed Woodpecker out side my drive!---beautiful but LOUD!!---Haven't seen the 'LOVE OF MY LIFE' this am---Looking forward to her LANDING anytime!!--CONGRATS!--TAMMY--you are our #1 EAGLE MOM today & every day!!!-here in WILD & WONDERFUL WV--HOME OF "LIBERTY--BELLE & 'BABY GIRL'----MORNIN' TAMMY--MAGPIE--MOVIN'JIM--& PAULA!!---LIFE IS GOOD!!
Thanks. I have the land nest as one of my favorites, but I was not sure if that was the one you were calling the Finney nest. I am trying to learn your vocab.
Me and Mattie and my niece and her daughter went to Greensboro Friday to see Taylor Swift! We had so much fun. Taylor gave us a fabulous show. Mattie and Jazmin (me and Tammy as well) had the time of our lives!
Tom is doing great Paula, working today. No we didn't go to the lake this weekend. We are leaving for the beach Friday morning and he had to work, so I am home. It is pretty strange to be here on a Sunday morning, though.
That doxycycline Tom is taking has really perked him up. He is almost back to his old self. Still has to take it for another 10days.
Good morning, Paula, I just looked at Finney's again, and it does refresh at about 10-15 secs., but it often "skips" one or two refreshes, as it just did, and it ends up being at least 30 secs. ... annoying when you're trying to do something or see something specific.

I think you are right, Norma. I was trying to figure out what those spots on Mom were! That's why she is so tight on those chicks! Keeping them warm and dry.
STRONGHUNTER---Forgive me!!---every since we have been watching the BEAUTIFUL NORFOLK SITE---(I have always referred to their active EAGLETS as 'LITTLE REBELS'---Remember NORTH/SOUTH thing---& I was trying to be funny---ho!
SHIRLEY---It is raining there---we think--& bet she is protecting her chicks??----that nest went through a bad storm a while back---we thought we would not get to watch the nest---but I thank God we can-----Also we learned about 2 yrs ago that the nest is artificial---meaning they BOUGHT the nest--& look how small all the trees look!-----that's shows one how HIGH the nest is from the ground---
Good morning.....and it is a lovely one, as Norma has said. OK got hit w/ severe weather yesterday including baseball-size hail. Still a bad forecast for today---don't know whether it is in the area of the nest or not. Hey, Sissy...been wondering where you were...thought maybe you'd been working your fingers off so that you could be free for beach trip! Glad that Tom is responding well....you probably missed my post a few days ago....many experts say should be on A/B for 6 months.
Today is grocery day...eldest going to help me...it will be a big order! Mom and sis should be on the road by now. Pray that their trip is safe, please---so many crazies on the roads!

Susan - yes we lost our 3 eggs in 2007....a heartbreaker for many here.
The background at Maine is actually the ocean! Maine 2 is a new one this year, they have 2 chicks
Looks like Rocky raccoon at snowman site
Is the site "Beakspeak' still going? Is it just beakspeak.com?
Susan- can you get DSL??
that's it
no DSL, no cable (here at boyfriend's house)..lots of trouble with horizon for satellite..very woodsy and mountainous..
Paula,
Are you the one that started Eaglemomsters (did i spell it right/?)
Thank You, Paula! Sounds wonderful...going to give Gene your instructions for supper tomorrow:) I don't do grills...can't even get it lit;)
LOlly - love the cupcakes!!
Wanda - isn't that what hubby's are for :)
Susan - yes, I have the eagletmomsters website and helped start the yahoo group.
Lolly,
My hats off to you...kindergarden seems like such a hard job for anyone over 30! I can't imagine doing it now at 57! Just shoot me first! :=)
are there any settings on this blog thingie so that I can get the new posts first? at hte top? all this zooming up and now when I refresh keeps a gal so busy LOL
Wanda - get the large shrimp!! 1 lb of bacon cut in half makes about 32-38 pieces, so you want about that much shrimp...the 36-40 count, about 1 lb.
The recipe was from an old boyfriend, so you can thank Rick!

Nope Susan, that's the way the blog rolls!
I'll let you know how it turns out, Paula. Yes, it is a hubby's job to grill and Gene does really enjoy it.
mine was miserably hot...held it in the Roanoke Civic Center and the air wasn't working right, if at all...and back then we wore the really heavy cotton robes, not the featherwieght polyesters of today...very uncomfortable underneath!
But the Doobie Bros. played at our graduation party, so all was well!
Doobie Brothers!! How awesome!
we liked them a lot, but they didn't get really famous with "Old Black Water..." until 6 months later....so we got to know them "when"!
well. I don't think Hidey wants to visit tonite, so i think I'd best finish the dishes...amazing even here by myself how nasty the kitchen can get!
Everyone have a lovely evening!
Nite, Susan.
When my daughter graduated from college the robes were disposables! Can you believe that???
Paula, shrimp sounds delicious! May try it while the company is here.
I guess I'm ready to call it a day too.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
The shrimp is good!
Gonna call it a night here too.
Hugs to all ♥
Nite Wanda....Nite Paula! Sweet dreams!
Think I will call it quits as well. Swee dreams to all!

Hope no one locked the door... I am trailing behind everyone. Guess I'll turn out the lights!
Good Night All
Peace to you & yours
Prayers for all our needs - especially Ed & Dana & safe journey home for Deb, Ceil, MMargaret & Jim!
((hugs)) ♥
Good Morning All...
Empty nest but I hear chatter in the background. Not sure if it is Hidey or not. Whoever it is, they certainly have alot to say...
:)
Aha ! Adult in the nest.
Do you see that Tammy?
And a bear at Snowman Cam !
Didn't hear a peep while the adult was there so Hidey must be out soaring this beautiful West Virginia Morning ☺
Adult has left, I think it was Liberty
2 adults at Finney's - I'm trying to count little heads there
I've been up and down a couple of times tonight, and I don't think I ever said "good night."

Time to be polite: Good Sunday Morning Eagle Friends
Jim - I am same as you, can see two for sure, cannot make a bet on a third one yet. The two adults were there together for a few minutes.
Like watching grass grow, waiting on the refresh...
Wow, hear that Mourning Dove at NCTC ?
Little Bear still at Snowman Cam
Computer impossibly slow this morning....gonna shut down and BBIALW
Might as well say,
** GooD SUNDAY **
** MoRNING **
to everyone, although i might be going back to catching more zzzzzzzz's later.

Jim
either my live feed is not working this A.M., or the wind is dead still and nothing is moving.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Is your puter working faster now, Magpie??
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Sort of, Jim. Unfortunately I think the live feed sometimes, but not always, slows things down, and this might be one of those times.
Feeding time at Finney's. Still cannot count a third head. MTBR I guess.
Time for sleep here...will catch up with everyone in a few hours.
I haven't seen our Eaglet...unless he came out while I was in the dark zone.
Best wishes for a good day, everyone.
I'm going to saw some logs too.
Megan... Hope you are doing okay and that today is a good market day for you.
xoxoxo
Morning, all!
Really quiet at the nest....not many bird chirps....no eagle sounds...but someone is hammering...
Jim - my Finney nest refreshes about every 10 seconds...
You can see 1/2 and eggshell to the right of Mom at Finney's
1 eaglet on the front branch at NBG
Good morning, Paula, I just looked at Finney's again, and it does refresh at about 10-15 secs., but it often "skips" one or two refreshes, as it just did, and it ends up being at least 30 secs. ... annoying when you're trying to do something or see something specific.

Caltrans eaglets - last I heard (This past Tuesday), none had fledged yet. Also, they aren't able to get the cam back online :(
They will repair it for next season.
CT Osprey - still having problems there too, but the 3 eyasses are doing well as of 6/4
I haven't got to see Hidey all weekend, guess I'm getting on at the wrong times! Thank's to ya'll for letting me know that He/She has been there! Paula, you got me wanting bacon wrapped shrimp now,THANKS ALOT

Yep, Bill, I think a lot of us are now hungry for Paula's shrimp. We are going to try it for suppper! Yummy:)

Good Morning everyone else!
I've asked before and I PROMISE I won't ask after this, can someone give me the link to the Snowman Cam? Pretty please... I seem to be having trouble keeping all my links in order. :)
Thank You!!
OK eaglet still in the nest!
You're welcome, Bill :)
Tammy - www.snowmancam.com
What is Finney's? Is that the land nest in Finland?
As Hidey beoomes more proficient with his flying, he will spend less time at the nest. He is now FREE AS A BIRD;)
By the way, good morning!

FINNY LAND NEST...ENJOY, TAMMY.
SORRY...that Finny info was for Shirley...or anyone else who needs it:)

Good morning Eagle Buds! I haven't been doing much blogging lately, but I have been lurking for sure! How is everyone?
Oh my, OK was floating above the nest...not sure he was gonna get back on the bar, but he made it.
Thanks. I have the land nest as one of my favorites, but I was not sure if that was the one you were calling the Finney nest. I am trying to learn your vocab.
Thank you Paula... I promise not to lose it again! (until I ask again) :)
Thank You CostumeLady! I'll take it!! Another cam that I promise not to lose!!
This is getting addicting.
Howdy, Sissy! How's Tom feeling?
Are you at the lake?
Me and Mattie and my niece and her daughter went to Greensboro Friday to see Taylor Swift! We had so much fun. Taylor gave us a fabulous show. Mattie and Jazmin (me and Tammy as well) had the time of our lives!
Good Happy Morning Norma...
You are such a ray of sunshine :)
FINLAND OSPREY MOM---SNOOZING in nest--with her rear toward the cam!---maybe later--we can see more!!
Oh My! That is a neat cam in Finney!!
Forgive my not knowing... but what kind of a bird is that?
Paula, I am trying to get the OK cam, but I just have a black screen with the white spinny thing in the middle.
That is an osprey, Tammy.
Norma - how did you sneak in here :)
Sissy - glad Tom is feeling much better. In case I forget to tell you, have fun at the beach! The concert sounded like fun.
Paula??
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Shirley...maybe take down NCTC cam and it might come up...
2 adults at BWO
Nope, Jim...she's been really tight on those chicks.
Tammy, it helps to click on the "In English" option--unless you speak Norwegian.
Thanks, Paula! I will jump back on after while, gotta go get cat food!!
Only saw one little head poke out for a couple of refreshes.
MORNIN'!!!!--BILL---ELKINS--isn't that from the SHRIMP! -- ho!STRONGHUNTER--WANDA--SISSY & SHARON---
I'll try that. Paula. I do have the other cam on right now.
Finney is getting rained on now.
I'm getting some repeat posting, etc., so I think I'll shut it down for a while.
Have a good day.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
*lol*
Stronghunter... I'd love to click on the "in English" version, but I can't find it, I think it is written in Norwegian!
:)
TAMMY---Next to the EAGLE--we watch OSPREYS---They are beautiful birds!---build their nest high up!!
Think you will enjoy watching them!!
Took down the NCTC and the Finney cam and it came up. It doesn't want me watching all of those other nests?
TAMMY--Hit the ENGLISH box first!
It is in English, over to the left of the picture.
TAMMY--I still can't remember all the 'how to' things--- ho!
Boy, what a pretty day out...the humidity is gone! Nice breeze from the north.
I don't have an english box.
The only box I see is a "Pesauutiset" box.
That is a pretty word, but I have no idea what it means. *lol*
NITE--MOVIN'JIM!!
I have noticed that with our cam up...sometimes can't even get WMP to connect.
Shirley, I have Finney land and OK up...have NCTC on still cam.
I found the English Box!
I was on a full screen view. I hit refresh and now I have the menu on the side. Thank you!!
Looks like rain at OK??
Shirley - is your nest cam at OK on? I only have the wide view.
PAULA---I am having a LANGUAGE problem too!----I don't know REAL NAMES----only BLOG names!!----WE NEED A LIST!!!!!!
I went back and got Finney and OK is still there.
Tammy, the Norwegian word means Nest News in English. The "In English" option in in the margin, outside the picture to the far left of the screen.
Think JIM meant it was raining at FINLAND site!---MOM is soaked!
Paula, I do not have the nest cam either, but the eaglet is on the bar, so the nest is MT.
Lightening at OK!!
I think you are right, Norma. I was trying to figure out what those spots on Mom were! That's why she is so tight on those chicks! Keeping them warm and dry.
And now the nest looks wet too.
Looks like that was a quick shower at OK
This sunshine will do my yard a world of good, the backyard is still soaked from all the rain.
That poor Finney bird looks very wet.
'REBEL' site---An EAGLET is up front & personal--(has rear up to cam)---but she is really enjoying her meal!---BIG TIME!!
Where is the Rebel site?
Both parents at BWO again
Ooops gone again.
Rebels is NBG
..what is so rare as a day in june--then if ever comes perfect days...
james russell lowell
*describes this day in WEST VIRGINIA --- (and surrounding states)--
Thanks, Paula.
Feeding the "little survivor" at BWO
STRONGHUNTER---Forgive me!!---every since we have been watching the BEAUTIFUL NORFOLK SITE---(I have always referred to their active EAGLETS as 'LITTLE REBELS'---Remember NORTH/SOUTH thing---& I was trying to be funny---ho!
Beautiful here, too, Paula. I really must get some yard work done.
That is okay, Norma, I was pleased that I knew what NBG means.
--Shirley
Isn't the Finney bird tenting?
I SEE AN EGG SHELL at the FINLAND SITE NOW!----I DID NOT SEE IT A FEW MINS AGO!!--(i bet #3 has hatched)---what do you all think???
NEW THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was wondering if that was an egg shell over to the right. I was not sure how large it should be, but it looks like half an egg.
