Margy, I have a question for you. On our way home from Florida, we saw a lighted highway sign (the kind that tells motorists that there is an Amber Alert), and it said "Silver Alert" for a chrysler and gave color and license number. Do you know what a Silver Alert is? We were very curious, because there were police cars along the highway for many miles.

I had never heard of it but think it is an excellent idea! We have actually had a few incidents of that over the years, both in the person being located HERE, and in the person leaving from here and ending up, miles and miles away from home. I will check into it when I return to work Friday.
OK very busy but fun afternoon in my world. I have like 400 photos to go through. I plan to try to get back again for a couple of hours tomorrow as we have clouds and snow coming in again Fri thru Sun. I will work on choosing deleting and uploading photos to Glo's Glimses then.
Right now its about bedtime as I have staff meeting in the morning and work the overnight again tomorrow night. Not much sleep but hey in 10 days when this lens gets returned I can sleep. Well maybe not the eagles are here for another 6 weeks or so and I do have a smaller lens I like fine that I did use up until about 2 weeks ago. LOL. So I will still be out and about ont he river til early March. I miss them so when they go!!!

I was looking at our nest cam an hour or two ago, and saw a very bright light to the right, shining on the ground as if from a helicoptor. Then it went off. Do you suppose Lib or Belle found a flashlight? They have, since then, pulled their blinds down;)

Good evening, dear friends
I am back home right now, and plan on going to work on Thursday and Friday. I have a meeting in the morning, so I may not be on much tomorrow.
My Mom's wish was to be cremated and placed in Arlington Cemetary columnbarium with my father, which we will do at a later date. Mom kept wanting to go home, and that is where she is now.
I am still waiting on a confirmation for her Memorial Mass...Along with the church office being closed due to the holiday and inauguration, the pastor also had a death in the family. We are waiting on confirmation from him on Thursday. My son is still in Jamaica, so we are planning the memorial service for next Friday, January 30th. Her obituary will be in the Washington Post next Tuesday.
Mom's passing was very peaceful. The doctors did all they could for her, but her body just couldn't fight any longer. She's fought against this for over 4 months with determination and strength and without any complaint. I know if she could have kept going, she would have.
Your thoughts and prayers for my family and I mean more than you know. I just want to thank each and every one of you for your support and love.

It's always sad when people close to you pass on, but I think all of our prayers for your Mom's well being were answered in the best possible way. Your Mom is far better off and in a far better place now. God bless her and love her; and God bless you and your family.

Ceil, I can sympathize...I went through that for several months...finally got to the point where chemo brain gave me a good excuse to say "I can't picture that computer program screen anymore" or "I don't remember the name of the person you need to talk to", etc.!!! And then they closed my plant, and I wasn't at all familiar with the newer one, so then I really couldn't help!
Deb, checked out the wedding pics...everyone looks so nice! Phil looks like a cross between Nicholas Cage and Harry Connick, Jr.! Could have recognized your sister without an ID!!!! You are two beautiful ladies, as is your aunt and your niece!!
