Well, guess I will be first again! Why is eagle sitting up instead of comfy on the egg?
Thanks for the new thread Steve. Went and called everyone over! Really think they must be too tired from last night LOL
Thanks for the new thread and for letting us know, Steve and Lolly. Maybe she is enjoying standing up, because she knows she will be laying for a lot of the coming month. :)
I know I am tired from last night, but it is beautiful out, so I am off to clean off some of the driveway. BBlBoth osprey at HH.
Both in the nest! Don't worry when you see then not on the egg, it gets quite warm when they are on it, and they will occassionally get off of it, they know what they are doing.
I have been outside. It is 69 and bright sunshine. It is cooler inside than out!Decided to check the cam...was surprised when I saw there was a new thread.
Good afternoon all. I have been watching the eagles all day. I love having an egg to watch!
BRS is approaching downtown Kansas City. My Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren are nearby.
I jumped up and down and waved. lol
Thanks Lolly for the call over. Thank you Steve for the new thread.Been in family emails lots and lots of them.
I will do the same when he hits Denver, Red. I got a lot of built up snow and ice scraped up and then put down some ice melt. My driveway is in the shade most of the time, so I am taking advantage of a nice day. I didn't even need a coat!
It is 54 here, Lolly, not far behind you!
I was up and watching during the night and saw the egg. Was too sleepy to blog though but saw where everybody else was.
Well, Lolly, you are on the EGG (ball) today!!!! ☺One thing I've noticed about the new Live cam is that there is no time/date. Would help when we think it's frozen. Sometimes when I refresh, it doesn't come back at all.NOT complaining--just an observation. ☺ Very thankful for what we have!!
Sharon, you must go bonkers at Easter!!! LOL
I could feel your eagle eyes upon us early early this morning, Sharon!!!Loretta - I'm not sure that colored eggs do much for Sharon - now on the other hand those chocolate Easter eggs might just do the trick. lolThanks for the unexpected New Thread, Steve. Hope your day is going well & not too much snow removal for you to do.I am having big trouble getting the Live Feed up/running. Still cam is ok
I can see the new fluff in the nest! Need to read last comments on previous thread - I was looking at photos from Germany - Those little gals are really growing and it is delightful to see the 7yr old loving & playing with the 7 month old! BRB
Getting ready to rock & roll. See ya on the flip side. ☺
Jack is out washing his truck. I told him I would help. BBL
Norma's phone is busy now SO that's a good sign that she is home. I'll try to get my call through as soon as she finishes that call.
Another thing about them being "off" the egg, Lolly, is that they won't start incubating 100% seriously until at least the second egg is laid. Keeps the first one from getting too far ahead. On the other hand, they must incubate enough to keep the first egg viable until they get going 100%.C(°ٿ°)DJim
Good afternoon eagle friends!! Been lurking around all day, trying to get caught up at work. Today is the last day of the pay period. No slacking till tomorrow!! My live feed keeps freezing too. It is quite frustrating, I must say!
Eagle just flew out- egg is alone.
Afternoon all!Switch in progress, eagle just left
The egg cup looks closer to the middle this year!Thank you Jo for the phone call this morning!I have been watching the nest for the last 1/2 hour and catching up on the blog...how eggciting it must have been! Haven't checked out any videos or pics yet...will do so later.
Everything about the service was beautiful and afterwards we had a nice, intimate get together at Mom's house....crashed early last night and came home this afternoon. Actually, I am heading off to watch the Mount Basketball game later this evening...Looks like eagle is back!Freezing here lots too.
Back- did it bring in fluff with it...Hey Paula-we missed you.
WELCOME HOME PAULA...we missed ya.
Thank you ♥
Happy Belated Birthday Megan!
Thanks, Paula♥I'm hungry, and tired of cooking...feeling a little stir crazy today. Looking at seed catalogs, wishing for warmer weather.Really wish the cam would stop freezing up-
it is time for the geese:)
Welcome back, Paula. It is nice to have you back!
Hi Deb! Heard you did a video...the link is on your blog?
Yes, it is on Nest Pictures.
The Second View is the best one.Osprey at HH!
Deb, it is so great to see ospreys in action again, such a beautiful bird
They are beautiful, this is a good nest view, too. I think mine is stuck right now. We had both eagles for a little bit, back to one.
nest sundown was at 5:30 p.m., and night light seems to be coming on.
just heard a shot:(
Current Nest Weather.....Currently at 5:56 PM32 °F RealFeel®:23 °FPartly CloudyHumidity: 37% Dew Point: 9 °FPressure: 30.09 in Visibility: 10 MilesWinds: W at 9 mph
BRS heading into the sunset again..
Is he on I70, or do you know?
Have you checked on Redoubt today? It has calmed down a little, but they think it will still erupt sometime soon.
Almost ready for dinner here..Glad I peeked in to see the egg rolland the wiggle wiggle to settle inI wish our egg well were deeper like itseemed to be last year.......
I don't know what road he is on, but that would be my best guess....haven't checked on Redoubt today, yet.
Reading back on commentsI didn't turn on my sound....If you heard a shot - didn't they say one night for the permit........I hope we don't go through this again..She/he can't leave the egg now.Hope Steve is reading and could do something with the Land Manager if in fact it isn't just an isolated shot...
Going to game, see ya later.
again, Jo, I think the cam pic is deceiving, and makes things look distorted, sure the egg is fine.
I only heard one shot in the distance, Jo.
BRS just pulled in to a truck stop.
Hi all! Welcome back Paula. You have been missed, and we have been thinking of you. I know you are probably emotionally exhausted!
Love to see them tuck their head under their wing. Happy to have Paula back with us and very glad to see her going to the game!Never did take a nap today... feeling heavy eyed now.... HEAD UP OR I'LL NOT GET TO SLEEP TONIGHT!Megan - when does market start up for you
Good time to take a breakI've been trying to get Momster Photosin some kind of order. I haven't done anything with them all year it seems.BBL
BRS is at a Bosselman's Travel Center.
I am tired and sore from breaking up ice. I got my driveway all clear, wish I could say the same for the section between the sidewalk and the street. It builds up so bad there, some of it is 5" thick. Darn snow plows, I wish there was another way to clear the streets.
they have one in Rapid City, Deb
they have 2 in Kansas, Colby and Salina...since his oin is in Kansas, guess it it one of them
the Kansas stops are off of RT 70, Deb...you know your roads:)
They have them in NE, too, I think there is one in Grand Island and maybe North Platte, somewhere else that I have been to one, anyway.
Good Evening everyone; I got out today and checked the eagles nestsand they weren't around.I took a photo of the new nest from the roadto let you see just how far it is,I guess my lense does a good job AIt is about 1/4 of a mile from the road,i ranged it with my laser range finder it will range up to a1/2 mile on open ground.Indiana Nesting Eagles----Dave
I have been on I70 before, I only know my roads where I have been quite a few times! I was hoping he would make it to CO today, I won't be watching tomorrow. The snowy owl is still hanging around and we are taking my sister and Roger to see if we can find it again.
That is a long ways from the road, Dave. When the snow is gone, will there be any other access to get you closer?
snowy owl wins out for sure:)
I will be able to get within 200ydsof it by walking along the riveron the leave. Dave
Yes they do! We are also going to try for the Saw-whets and Short-ears again.
That will be fun, Dave. Two of the nests I know of, we can get close to by water only. But that works okay, except it will be hard to see what is in the nest until the eaglets get bigger. There is an island near one of the nests, but you can't go on the islands most of the spring and summer to protect nesting Piping Plovers and Least Terns.
Got my call into Norma!! She was out and about today & went to lunch with friends! She picked up her computer but just didn't hook it up yet.I'm sure she didn't have any back up disc and of course the shop cleaned everything out and started fresh. She wouldn't leave the shop until they had found her eagles! She is doing well & I gave her the news of the blog!
Thanks for the update on Norma, Jo. Glad she got her computer back with the eagles ready to go!
The way Belle is laying right now, she looks like she is hanging on the nest wall instead of laying in the nest cup.
Thanks Jo glad to hear Norma will be coming back on with her great morning openings. ( :I had to go out shoe shopping. Brought the New Balance has the pink symbol on them. New Balance is involved with the races for Breast Cancer. I have been checking everywhere for a pair of those. I've had several family members died from Breast Cancer. So these shoes are special to me.Who knows maybe one day I will be blessed and can enter a walk. Oh that would be great.
I did one in 2005, Dana, it was a wonderful experience.
Deb I just feel my day is coming to do one.
Good evening, fowl friends.Had a good afternoon out...once I got out.. Couldn't get out in my truck---it's not 4-wheel drive (didn't spend that extra amount since I don't HAVE to get out for work anymore!). Daughter came and got me...went out to lunch, did some shopping, and jsut enjoyed being out of the house. Brought Bill's truck home, so at least for the time being, I can go when I want to!Caught up on the blog, but haven't checked out newer pics yet.So glad that Paula was back with us...hope The Mount is winning!Glad that Suz and Norma are in the loop!
Red is calling it a day. Goodnight everyone. ♥♥
Konking out in front of TV. Been watching dog show on AP. Friend & dentist's asst. was on--she is breeder, owner, handler of English foxhounds. Made Best in Breed, but didn't win group---but we got to see her & doggie!I forgot all about dwnlding pics from today---may get a 2nd wind---but there's always tomorrow, Scarlet. So glad Paula is back--((((HUGS)))) to her & glad you got in touch w/Norma, Jo. I sent Suz the 2AM egg pic & one from 5AM of Mom sleeping.
Dana, they have the Susan Komen CA run/walk in DC every May or June, I think. I do the walk--only 2 or 3miles. I can't believe the ads I've seen for the 3 day!Have to be Olympian for that!
I am watching another Hallmark movie...I'll be back to check in at 11:00...All is well at the nest....
Belated Goodnight, Red and Loretta!
Can you believe I have been pressing some clothes for Jack. He leaves tomorrow to be gone a week and has to take slacks and shirts...no jeans. So press I did! Gooolllleeee!!!I will be glad to get our Norma back. She is a ray of sunshine, isn't she?
I got the two cakes in the freezer today. Really had to work at it as the box the cake was in was too big. Had to mutilate it a wee bit!
Checked on the NBG nest but all is black. Either they are down or someone turned out the nightlight.
Belle's eye is glowing in the dark!Surely it is more comfortable sleeping in the nest than on a limb. LOL
Yes, Lolly, Norma in the morning, is like a breath of fresh air. Miss Paula too. She's having some fun tonight, which she needed.
Shhhhh!!!! Belle has gone back to sleep.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONESWEET DREAMSPRAYERS FOR ALL
LOL I was just rambling on to myself, when all of sudden you were there Wanda. I really was not telling you to shhh!!!!
Night Wanda! Sweet dreams!
Loretta & Lolly Have you watched any of the Kitty Cam?Had it on last evening around 11:00 and one kitten was awake and within 10 minutes all 7 were awake and playing.http://www.ustream.tv/channel/kitty-cam-2
Belle really looks snuggled down in all that fluff!
Night, Wanda!Lolly, you had forgotten what it was like when Jack was still working, huh?
Well at least we don't have any excitement tonight - 2 nights in a row would do me in! Feb 3 or 4 should bring us another egg!
Kitty cam is cute, Jo! Don't think that playpen is going to contain them for long...one almost made it out!!
Headed in to La La LandGood Night to all of youPrayers for everyone's needs being saidPrayers of thankfulness also being said((((hugs)))) ♥
They are SO active they make me dizzy!Calling it a day. Bet we all sleep good tonight. It's been a marvelously eggventful time. Peace and blessings.
Good night everyone and sweet eagle dreams, my friends of fine feathers and fur!
Oh dear! No, Jo I had not seen the kitty cam and now (it is your fault!) I am hooked. I am definitely a kitty person and they are just soooo cute!
Nite all, time for me to close it down. Sweet dreams to all! Jo, don't cough.....stay in bed and sleep peacefully!
Hey anyone on here? Are we still at one egg?I have to read back and see...I am watching very closely...
Hey - It's Sunday here on the East Coast: Which Means: Happy Birthday Glo! Hope it is your Best One Ever, and Full of All your Favorite Things! xoxo ☺ ♥
I'm staying on here til the Eagle moves around again, she just did, there might even have been a switch, I was bringing things up, I want to check out the nest cup!
Sitting here with some Oatmeal Creme Cakes...
I'm losing sound every few minutes....how come so late does this happen?
Margy, my live feed and sounds goes out all of the time. I have to hit refresh just every little bit.
Second Eagle Parent is close, doing that hoarse coughing/barking noise.
Hi Sharon, do you think there are a lot of live feeds open?Just saw some vehicle lights. Not taking my eyes off the nest much but wanted to say Hi ☺
I love those eye blinks!
I can't watch, and type much, so if I don't come back for awhile you will understand. On my second Oatmeal Creme Pie..☺
Margy, I was getting ready to comment on the blinking eyes when I read your comment. I don't know what the deal is with the cam freezing up.
Since we mentioned it it has been better....☺
Icy Waters at Finney's Nest
Standing over egg cup...
Well, I have been watching for awhile. Belle (I think Belle) moved around a little at 3:15 but no egg roll or wiggle, but I thought I was seeing a second egg, and had to wait to see...she just now finally got up, rolled the ONE Egg, wiggled, and is now down good in the nest all tucked in. I heard the other eagle making noises and thought they would switch but they did not. In the meantime, I labeled the pictures for Wanda, I saw the security vehicle lights three times, watched the developing ice at Finney's, (saw the two eagles there early,_ and saw what looked like a Cat at Pix Pa...first thought it was a groundhog, but, it just wasn't, but I couldn't get a screen grab.So I'm going to bed now and am passing the baton on to the next Eagle Eyes....xo ☺
I had sound at the nest almost the whole time, except at the very beginning.
Welcome Back, Paula ♥and Enjoy your special Day, Glo ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ☺ ♥
**GOOD nIGHT/****GOOd MoRNING**TO YOU ALL.Not sure, but I think it's Liberty on the eggs now. He raised his head, I tried to entice him to give us a look at the egg cup, but he stuffed his head back under his wings and went back to sleep. Smart bird.Just saw car lights pull into the training area, turn around and head back out. Security patrol?C(°ٿ°)DJim
Now, from another angle, it looks more like Belle, which makes more sense at this time, since she still has to lay at least one more egg; and she can't do it by remote command.C(°ٿ°)DJim
HAPPPY BIRTHDAY, GLO! BIRTHDAY ♪♪♫♪♫♪♫
