Well, my fine and wonderful friends, I am done working today and am stepping away from this computer for a while. See ya later!!
I'm back from having lunch with my old work buddies. Everyone is fine and so jealous of me being retired. I see I missed a few visits.
Big Rig Steve is headed your way today. Destination is Manchester, Pa.
Norfolk update - don't know if this has been postedRepairs and upgrades continue on the Eagle Cam. We hopeto have the camera online soon. Thanks for your patience.
Maine Eagle Blog update - Tuesday, January 06, 20092009! Hello All,Just a quick note to make sure that our time stamp is accurate as I see that my last post seemed to carry an errant date. Also, I am excited to update bloggers that we are working toward the release of a second--yes second--eaglecam. This has been in the works for some time and we anticipate a cam release during early February. So far the images are looking great! We also anticipate the release of a Peregrine Falcon camera at about the same time. Without doubt I will keep you posted and cross your fingers for our next endeavors. All the Best,Patrick Keenanp.s. Facebookers please become a fan of BioDiversity Research Institute we now have a fan page!
Thanks for posting that, Paula. More cams, Sounds great-just became a fan of their facebook page.
Hi everyone. Happy New Year. I'm back and the first edition of Lambert/Smith expedition will be out in a few years. Good to be back. Hope all is well with my eagle friends.Have not read anything but todays.
Welcome back, Ceil:) Hope you had a great visit, sounds like the trip there and back was a real adventure.
Good to have you back Ceil. We missed you.
Floral - I couldn't find them on Facebook...how are they listed?
Thanks. It was a great adventure but as Mary Marg said it was a few difficulties not a disaster.
Hi Ceil - Welcome Back! We certainly missed you!
2 eagles at TH
Megan love the dwarf. Is it Grumpy?
I missed all of you guys. Son got us a new computer for Christmas. It will be here after he sets it up for us. We did see beautiful eagles and lots of snow.
I will not be on much trying to catch up. Wow Paula new cams. Great. Have not even looked in on Tai yet. We went to the Oregon Zoo for night lights and saw the baby elephant. Most of the animals were not out.
Yep, it's Grumpy.Paula, I just searched for BioDiversity Research Institute, they are the 6th group down the page that comes up.
Red I enjoy retirement. I was working one day a week until my trip but said I will not be back after Christmas.
Mrs. Red cannot understand that I don't get bored at home with nothing to do. Guess I should enjoy it now cause when she retires I think she will be looking for things for me to do besides watching birds and nests. lol
Thanks Megan...that's what I put in but couldn't get them to come up...will try again.Ceil - did you see eagles in person?
Aha - used the other search...got them now...
Eagle alert our nest
Thanks paula. I wasn't watching.
Poof and gone.
You are right Red. We woman do that.Paula we saw quite a few in the trees as we passed through Montana.
Eagle just stood around during visit...believe it was Belle
Eagle BWEHave we heard from Jo today?
Welcome home, Ceil. I think you can name your trip "Ceil, Jim and MM's Excellent (?) Adventure"!!!! I'm sure you had a great time with your son despite the travel travails! What kind of computer did you get? A laptop, perhaps?
Sorry, Dana, wasn't here to hear about northend action. Poor Margy got dragged in, after all. I could tell they were frazzled....and it's still been hectic. Definitely will have to catch Ch. 25 news tonight.
In case anyone wonders about my new Avatar, it the Alabama Coat of Arms. I've lived here most of my life and I don't think I have ever seen it before today. Just ran across it this morning. I like the eagles in it.
We did have a great time Lynn. It is one of those new touch screen.
click on it to see a bigger presentation.
Great coat of arms Red.
Hmmm wonder what ship that is in your coat of arms, Red.
Welcome home Ceil! You were missed.Been out running errands. Have a meeting at church tonight so will not be home early this evening.Ahhh, retirement. I retired two months before Jack retired. We love it and we are sooo happy. He does his thing, I do my thing, and we do lots together. He eats when he is hungry, I eat when I am hungry and we cook and eat together in the evening. I tolerate his computer games and he tolerates my eagle watching. It is called LOVE and RESPECT,
I'll try to find out.
The crest is a model of the ship, the Baldine, that Iberville and Bienville sailed from France to settle a colony near present day Mobile (1699).
More information on the Coat Of Arms.Ala Coat of Arms
Eagle alert our nest!!
Looks like Lib..ha ha LLL
Can Belle be far behind?
Bet that touch screen will take some getting used to, Ceil!Neat Coat of Arms, Red!!
Eagle at BW too. May be spending the night there.
Just enjoying watching our eagle Hopefully there will be 2 in a little while.Have not been on all day...Good to see you all and Ceil happyto see you home!
Nope. BW eagle went Poof.
So good to see Belle. Hope Lib shows up. Hey Jo. Good to be back home.
Belle is is in the nest now...Fiddling with the fluff in the flow of the night light
Well, I walked by the computer just in time to see them both in the nest. How great is that. Any eagle love this afternoon?
Hi Ceil!! Good to have you back. I bet you are wore slam out!!
Mema Jo, how are ya feeling?
Poof goes Belle.
Belle flew the coop!
Just some nest work tonight, Sissy. How is your newest dog doing?
And there went Lib.
And gone again!Yes, Sissy, how's the dog doing??
Red, I love the coat of arms, very regal!! Oh Ceil, Mattie is going to be so jealous. She wants one of those touch screen computers. Maybe one of these days!
Buddy (our Buddy, not Thelma's) is coming along nicely. His hair is growing in. He is still really skiddish, can certainly tell he hasn't been around alot of people, but he is getting better at being around us. As you can imagine, this is a pretty rowdy place sometimes. Lots of family coming and going and that is taking some getting used to for him. But, all in all, he is doing great.
He has the potential to be a little sweetheart. I can't wait to see how he does camping and on the boat. Us and 4 dachshunds on the boat this summer should be interesting, for sure.
Andrew called. He is coming home tomorrow. It is certainly alot different around here when he is gone. Alot less laundry but I don't like it. I am not gonna do well when he moves someday. But, that ain't happening today, so I will think about it another day.
Sissy, We rescued a dog from an abusive situation about 18 months ago. It took him a little time to adjust to being loved but now is like one of the family. He was being abused by a man and it took longer for him to adjust to me than Mrs Red but he's ok with me now.
I just became a fan of Biodiversity on Facebook. I really like Facebook. I just never could get into the whole My Space thing. This is alot more user friendly for me.
Yeah, Red, Buddy is our 3rd rescue dog. We have fostered a few dachshunds before, but he is the 3rd that lives here for good. Only Ellie Mae came to us as a puppy. Hollie is from the Animal Shelter, Hubert belonged to some people we know and was very malnourished when we got him, and now Buddy. The people that had Hubert only fed him food from the Dollar Tree and it didn't have enough nutrition in it. He has blossomed with us. Kibbles and Bits certainly agrees with him. This is our second year with him, 4th with Hollie.
Hi Sissy - miss being here more often. Strength is coming back so guess you will see more of me.
Lord, I certainly hope so Mema Jo, we miss you like crazy!!
I'm here if you need me! BBL
Sissy if I have problems with it Mattie can have it. LOL
Hey Beverly, do you have a facebook page? I will friend you..
OK, I just found you on facebook...
I will be off to work another overnight here very soon. Did want to say it is so neat to see MeMa Jo Made it in a little today. Norfolk cam is up Of course it is dark there right now. Looks like lots of you are adding Facebook to places to go and things to do. Have a great evening.
Megan, I saw you found me on Facebook. I really like that page. Alot of my family is on there.
Ceil, you better watch out, Mattie will take you up on that. I am gonna go watch some tube. Hope everyone has a great evening. "See" you in the morning light!!
Good night Sissy, just missed you! I can't figure out facebook or MySpace..figured this blog is the best I can manage...not much of a techie...Hello Everyone Else, I finally made it back to the Roost.
And Especially! Welcome Back Ceil ! ☺ ♥
Missed a lot of Nest Visits today....going on to my three 12-hour days starting at 6 am, so will miss everything for the next three, so I'll be watching the comments to see what I miss...xo
Traffic on the interstate in our county was backed up, for miles and miles. Accidents were mostly at the 7 mm, starting at around 0930 - and by 4 pm traffic still inching along southbound for 10 miles...all the town streets were pretty much clogged up too. WOOF ! Sure glad I only had to do a 90-minute stint at the office.
Sudden snow squalls and white out conditions led to multi-vehicle accidents.Sure wish we had asked Wanda to have Butterfly Mama or someone give us an update on their trip....seems they would have been southbound on I-81 about the time this occurred.....but I guess No News is Good News....
Wow- sounds like a mess, snow squalls were really fierce here this morning too.
Megan, about the time you posted your information about it this morning, is about when it happened in these parts! Martinsburg didn't have much of anything !
UFOs at Pix PA
Yeah, it was coming down like crazy here for a while, you couldn't see anything outside. we were watching DC news this am, right before daylight they were having accidents due to black ice on the roads.
YAY - got to see the Mount Basketball team beat their opponent by 19 points!
Watching the last college bowl game here...yay....the last bowl game...
Megan Maybe you should have changed your avatar to Snow White this morning for a little while....☺ Hi Paula, hear from John?

Hi all! I am back from church. Had a good evening with the "girls". They know all about my eagle friends. I told them all of you would fit right in with our group. They are great, you are great.Saw a little talk about facebook. My daughter has been encouraging me to do it. I thinking about it.Sounds like you have had tons of snow. We are expecting our next front tomorrow night. And, early next week the possibiiity of really bad weather. It is wait and see.

Margy - no call yet...told him he didn't have to call today. Hope his stomach is feeling better, mine was still iffy today.Lolly, not really much snow on the ground...just snow squalls, sort of like a summer downpour that disappears in 10 minutes!
Goodnight everyone. I'm calling it a day.
Good night, fowl friends. Sleep well. Prayers for all.
Hey, I heard NBG cam was on near the end of the day...hope it's back on tomorrow!

Eagle in the nest at Norfolk.
Both eagles at Maine now!! Now if they will just come to our nest this morning!!
I saw the eagle at NBG, can't watch those two cams though, have an issue with my computer or I think it's the monitor, makes the screen jump around terribly. So I'm waiting for a visit to our nest.
That is a shaame Began. That Norfolk cam has such a good view. But, at least you do get to watch the most important eagles, ours!!

Good morning eagle friends!
PANDA NEWS!--Shown on last nite news!! -- The same PANDA that bit the man who went over the PANDA'S fence to hug the PANDA---repeated his attack yesterday! -- (on a father who went over the fence to retrieve his son's jacket)--DAD was attacked & bitten in several places!!---NOW PANDA will be placed in a different type of cage!!-----
The panda did what pandas do. The people are the ones messing up. Move them, not the panda!!
MORNIN' BLUEFIELD SHARON!!---Are you going to UVA today --- or has it been postponed?
Our new little dog is at the vet's getting neutered and his teeth cleaned this morning. Bless his little heart.
SISSY---Last nite news seemed to indicate that this was unusual behavior for the PANDA to be so aggressive!!---??
Normabyrd, I postponed my appointment to next Thursday.
Really, I thought that people being on their turf may make them feel threatened and that is why they attacked. Maybe this panda has just had enough of people to do him the rest of his life!! (I feel that way sometimes)
MORNIN' DANA!!---Hope ED is feeling better??----I can see sunshine today----Yesterday!---RED was one of the few with SUNSHINE!!ho!
OH SISSY!!---You are COOL!!----I feel that way most of the time!---Now I can admit it!!--ho!----Don't lose your sense of humor!!---ho!
I see after I left yesterday to get hubby something from Wendy's. He thought for sure he could eat it. Nope couple of bits that was it. He is still very tired from this stomach virus.Paula hope you feel better see where you were still feeling a little poorly.I see Mema Jo was in for awhile yaaaaa hugs Jo.Sissy Buddy will be back with shiny teeth and not happy about him manhood. Our doggie tortured me for a week after I had that done. He would whine so I would lift him onto the couch lol.Ceil glad to see that beautiful avatar back. I just love that baby seal.Poor Panda...it didn't do a thing wrong. What idiot would climb over a fence. He should be suit for endangering a panda !HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOLLY
fined --I should have said
Does ANDREW'S girl friend live in HURRICANE?----One of my dearest school friend lives there---That area has grown so much since I have been there---
Normabyrd, Kelsey lives in Winfield, right near Hurricane.
Yeah, Norma. Kelsey lives in Winfield, which I reckon is right at Hurricane.
I can see one fully and the tail of the other eagle at BWE.
Both working on nest BWE
Both eagles at BWE!
SHARON!---I think that is a good idea----With this crazy weather---One doesn't know what forecast to believe!!---Our schools were open yesterday---seems the snow came after the buses left ---- Everyone was sliding all over in our area--similar to what HEDGIE was describing-----
WHOA DANA!---I knew what you meant fined!---ho!----I can't imagine anyone climbing over a FENCE at a ZOO!---This happened in CHINA---maybe that's the difference----dumb--dumb--
Does anyone still have Norfolk up? Mine is black.
Good morning, all. Another cloudy day to start off, winds are on the way, along with some snow. We are only supposed to get 1-3" so that's not much. I hope I am the 1"!
Dana - I see Ed is still feeling bad. Try some bananas or oatmeal. And there's always chicken soup.
Missed all the eagle love :(
Eagle at TH
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOLLY!!!Check your email!!Morning all.Sissy, so glad to hear that Buddy is adjusting, slowly but surely. I just KNEW that you would keep him!!!Weak sun here this am...cold...dubious forecast for tomorrow.
Hello again:) walked away from computer and missed the eagle visits. Dana- tell Ed no- fast food is the worst thing to put in his tummy especially after not eating much for days. That stuff is so bad for you anyway. Paula's right, bananas, toast, rice, soup(if he hates chicken, try another mild soup)etc... No charge for this Drs advice.......As far as the panda, I don't know if you can expect completely 'normal' behavior from an animal who is forced to live it's entire life in a pen/cage. jmoCalling for wintery mix here tomorrow- hope we will get the snow and not sleet.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR LOLLY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!! AND MANY, MANY, MANY MORE!!
