Good New Years morning to all~HNY to Steve and the rest of the NCTC staff!Rose Parade on...of course, commercials, too....always wonder how much we miss of the floats because of them.Dave, glad to hear from you today..did you see our Eagles?Poor Jo....know how awful it is to have a bad cough when we are already so short of breath---get plenty of rest, Jo!Sharon and Sissy, are you working or taking the day off?
Mits, thanks for letting us know about Jo. Bless her heart!Lynn, we are both working today. My internet is still down so I am working from her house.
Goodness, Sharon...you have frontier.net, don't you? What is their problem? I guess that Sissy has wireless, so that enables you both to be able to work at the same time, right? Have to wonder how mucg work you gals really get done TOGETHER...bet the laughs are a mile a minute!!!
Good grief, never mind the commercials, make these announcers stop rambling on over the bands.....and plugging their networks shows..
Darn it, Jo, are you trying to out-do me with your illness? Hate to hear you are ailing, but glad you saw the doctor and are on the mend. I didn't see you for awhile, and was afraid we left you in New Orleans, still looking for purple beaded necklaces;);)
Unfortunately, 'Tis the season...
Oh, Mama Hummer laid another egg!
Birdie in our nest...

you all need to watch the Rose Parade on HGTV....no commercials...could only watch it til almost noon, they off to mass....it was great, got to see all our friends, that we normally don't see, because we all go to different masses..going to fix lunch

I am being quite successful at doing nothing all week. Laurel comes with the boys later on this afternoon. She is visiting with a HS friend, then eating with us, bathing the boys and then heading home.Tomorrow I start taking the decorations down.Norma You missed breakfast this morning. We had fried eggs, bacon, grits, and a side of waffles with real maple syrup. Tomorrow no homemade bread and sausage....I splurged today! Sorry!Jo.... Sorry you are under the weather. I had something with a bad cough just before Christmas. I did not feel bad, but had a cough and sometimes I had coughing fits! Poor Michael in NY. Yes, I was doing it there! Anyway, get well quick!!
He is moving the furniture again. Belle is not gonna like it.
I'm watching HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009 Yes watched Rose Bowl Parade
Special wishes for Jo to get better very SOON !!

Gee, Mits, I didn't even know the parade was carried on HGTV! Drat!
yes, Lynn, it is much better coverage on HGTV.
off to dinner with the Family....Hubbys' birthday today..later.
I always watch it on HGTV cause of no commercials and they tell you a lot about all the flowers and plant materials are that are used on each float.
Happy Birthday to your hubby, Helen!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MR. HELEN;);)
Love your avatar, Lynn...how'd you get it to twinkle?
Oh, it sure is quiet around here. Too much partying last night?Well, I have started the year out right. It is 68 and I have been out working in the yard. That was good for me. I've been a lazyboy potato for too long. LOL But that was the plan for this week.
Thanks, Wanda...don't know..that's how it came...and sometimes they do their animation and sometimes they don't! Never know how/why!!
I don't have much sound...is it me or the cam or is is just quiet down there ?
Looks like Belle. Notsure.
Wow - that beak! Is it Liberty?
Poof! Think it was Lib, but that is only a guess.
Well, Hello and Good-Bye - nice of him or her to drop in though...! ☺
I think it is just quiet down there, Margy...I could hear them jumping around on the branches before jumping in.
Well, you can tell where our butts are parked !!
It is very quiet. I turned up the computer, thinking Jack had turned it down.
It's early too, maybe one or both will return....Stunning pink sunset here in Berkeley County - The Moon and ♥ Venus are out....☺
I hear a kitty!
Well, thought it was a kitty. Not sure now.
Okay - I hear some birdy sounds now too - Geese...Wow - 20 comments in no time flat...I'm getting ready for work, could hardly walk when I got up..said a prayer, and healing arrived...
Oh Boy - Back !
Hope JO feels well enough to have a peek ! ☺
And back again! Yea!
I still don't think they are done for the night.....
Cool! I think the other is on the mike.
Short lived...must have heard us hollering!
Come on Partner, I need some help here.....
Back again..what a tease..
Sounds like one is near the mic.
Well, that was fun! Still one close by.
Margy, have you tried the Lidocane Patch on your back? It really works for my knee, in between shots. It is also good for attracting snakes:) TEE HEE
Supper time here...having Corned beef that was down in the bottom of old freezer.
Wanda, you never said what Gene got you for Christmas...gather it wasn't a new puter!
Lynn, I have a gift certificate for either a Lap Top or a new camera. HARD DECISION!!!
Well, I have to go to work now. Sigh. You folks have a nice evening....Wanda - have not tried the Lidocaine patch...might be worth a try....thanks for the tip.Happy New Year one more time...and if you have some clear sky, try to check out the Moon and three planets... Peace, Love and Prayers xox ♥
That IS a hard decision, Wanda, but sure looks to me like your camera takes GREAT pics!!Have a good shift, Margy!! Hope it's a quiet one.
I am home after a long day in south central SD. We found the loon. Have to feed the dogs and myself and catch up on the blog.
Deb, hope we get to see the yellow billed loon, or was it yellow footed loon??
OH HAPPY DAY!! My uncle can wiggle 4 toes on his left foot, all on his own. Doctors say that is a very good sign!!
I put up one picture, hope I find a better one. We got closer later in the day.
Well, my eagle friends, I am going to bed. It has been the longest week!! My leg is feeling so much better. Steroids are a miracle drug (at least for today). Hope all have a wonderful evening. See you in the morning light.
Great news, Deb:) Like the loon pic, you sure see some interesting birds.
Good way for your Uncle to start out the New Year, Deb. What color are the feathers of the Loon? Interesting looking bird.
Deb, that is wonderful news, prayers continue:)..just back form a wonderful dinner with son, dil and M&M girls....of course the girls go to bed pretty early, 6:30 for Molly and 7:30 for Maggie...they take after their Dad early to bed and early to rise...
During breeding season the loon would be black and white, right now the colors are drab, brown, black and a dirty white. Their normal habitat would be Alaska and western Canada, very rarely on the West Coast. also very rarely south of Canada. Today there were people from Minneapolis, Sioux City, IA, Sioux Falls, Pierre, Rapid City that came to see it.
going in to find something on TV and hit the hay....talked to Ceil today last day of visit tomorrow:(
Thanks, everyone for well wishes, it is very exciting to think that he will probably walk again, after such gloomy predictions. Long day for me outside, then on the phone since I got the good news. I am off to bed, too. I will finish pictures later.
Fantastic news, Deb!Mom enjoyed the hopping john and crab puffs I brought her :):)Teaser eagles, eh? :)Happy Birthday Mr Mits!!Jo, hope you feel better!
Deb, what wonderful news about your uncle!! Still praying for him!Paula, what is hopping john??
Sissy, glad your ankle/foot is better....did they give you a cortisone shot??
Hedgie - Hopping John is a southern dish...my Mom is originally from Alabama. It is rice and black eyed peas. It has onions and garlic as the main spices...then you can also add ham hocks, bacon, or sausage. I added hot italian sausage and keilbasa to mine. Good luck for New Years!
And when you cook it in chicken broth, it tastes even better!
Going to turn in a little early tonight. I had a great day...felt wonderful. Going to try once again to go to Florida, if all goes well. Probably next Wednesday.GOOD NIGHT EVERYONESWEET DREAMSPRAYERS FOR ALL OF US AND FRIENDS
HOPPING JOHN, sounds tasty, Paula. Gonna put that on my "To Try" list.

Most of the loons in MN are Common Loons, so I would guess that is what we were watching.
Yes Norma I did watch the rose parade. I like it when they tell what the floats are made from. It is awesome. They said right after this parade they start working on next years. WOW ! Of course hubby's team didn't win.
Nice pics, Deb. Hadn't had a chance to look at them. Love the eagles, ice and cedar waxwings.

It is fun to see the divers, especially when they get up close. Here is the article Suzanne sent me: Yellow-billed Loon
Have to feed the birds and fill up the bird baths. They sure go through a lot of water.
