Norfolk nest cam has been up for quite a while for me - haven't sighted either of the eagles.
Great to see the BWE nest occupied.
They are always an egg ahead of us - won't be long since JAN is going by us fast!

She will return, but not this season. Osprey don't migrate back until they are at least two, sometimes three. Then they will begin the yearly migration after that.

I agree that the "box" at PIX is a lick...but think it's a sweet (molasses) block that has minerals in it--can't remember what they use! Salt licks are white.

Yes it is. It is almost always the male that will go back to the general area where it came from, the female osprey will follow its mate.

Facebook is an easy site- teenage daughter talked me into joining-you sign up and have a page where you can post pics, etc. You can keep in touch with friends, I like it because no one can see your page unless you invite them too. I found a friend from childhood on there I hadn't talked to in years.

Oh Lynn the brown salt licks are called "mineral salt licks" all the animals and birds love the brown ones. Use to buy them all the time before we down sized to here.

Michael called early and sister, Sharon called and we talked for a long time. Brother is at sea on a cruise, will not hear from him.
Jack cooked a wonderful breakfast and we going to head out to buy a new tree( had to take down a big oak that was dying :( ) Also, a new microwave. Ours was aging and we reheated Salmon croquettes and now is smells like salmon. Lovely!

Megan, Laurel got on facebook on my computer one day. So when I type in facebook, her email pops up and I typed in her usual password and got on. I later told her. She is threatening to sue me. ha! Actually she does not mind, and I love reading and seeing pictures from her friends that I know. She has made contact with lots of HS friends. When I get on I will let you know.

Gosh I missed the visit. Got tied up in my domestic chores and forgot to come back. Went grocery shopping, Vacuumed, washed kitchen floor and started laundry. Now I'm sweating. lol
I have a Facebook page too but haven't added anything to it yet.
I am going to try to sneak off to grocery store without hubby. I can always call him after I get there. To see if he wants anything special....tippy toes I go. Watch me get caught...lol

I have had an email freind for years in east Texas who wrote to me last night and stated her daughter in law has stage 4 colon cancer. the little lady of 30-something has 4 small children and a sweet husband. Please include her in your prayers. this is a request from my freind that I ask this of you. She seems to think we have a direct link to the almighty as our prayers have helped her so much in the past.Thank you..

One eagle at turtle bay. wind is really blowing. Its still here and finally sunny. I cant get over how much difference the weather is just three hour up the road. Back to work... rest time of over..
I am home and the snow beat me. I didn't think it was supposed to start until later. It isn't too bad, but did drive 50-55 on the way home instead of 70.

The Caltrans site is really cool, unfortunately, I can't watch it because there is a problem with my monitor that causes the picture to jump all around...just one of the daily frustrations of my life....
We have called the MD dept. of unemployment no less than 100 times in the past two days, spending endless hours on the phone-to no avail. Never once did we reach an actual person And yes, press 1 if you speak English.... All I can say is if you live in MD, and you can't file for unemployment online because you don't have a standard case for unemployment- you are sol..... have contacted my state senator to see if they can help us, but I ain't holding my breath... going outside to work off some frustration, so if you hear screaming on the cam mike, you'll know what the noise is.
My sound won't stay on, Candy. It stays up about 30 seconds, then cuts out.
Sorry you are having a bad week, Megan. I read that some states entire unemployment sites are crashing because they are overwhelmed.
Megan, I feel fro you. My son quit his job in Winchester to move down to NC because that is what his new wife wanted. Of all times, No jobs. I don't know what he was thinking. I wlll be praying for a job for your husband along with my son.

Hello.....I'm back. Went shopping have a new tree to plant, got a beautiful red oak...big one at a great price. Also, got my new microwave. So, I am happy.
Now Jack and I are getting ready to go out to eat. Going to a tiny Italian place, Nona Tatas, and hopefully will get in. We have been there twice before and it was full with a long waiting list. A very popular, highly rated tiny restaurant.

I've been to Spearfish and Sturgis but it was many many years ago.
I was there last year in April and in August of 2008. I didn't see anyone spear fishing, or fishing for that matter.
PETA gets carried away too much. I was through there in 1976. Was livig in Ann Arbor Michigan and had been to Yellowstone.
And speaking of High Schools, this morning I went to Fayetteville, Tennessed to Walmart. When I got to town the main street was stop and go traffic. Turned out someone had called in a bomb threat to the High School.
Should be Tennessee. lol
It was a false alarm though.

Quick funny story: Captain Eagle left a message on my cell phone..but it was for someone else! I had called Wanda's cell phone to see if they had made it through the Snow Pour...guess somehow he called back to my number instead of one of his buddies...They were in the Carolinas around one today! Will have to try to call them and tease them about it a little later...☺
Here's a snow report from naturalist friend on the NY-PA border near Erie PA:
"Since yesterday at least 2 more feet of snow has fallen and it will continue all day today and then a big storm is called for tomorrow... So far this year we have had about 12 feet of snow and it is still early, we can probably get another 12 feet yet. "

They headed out on schedule Thursday morning, Gene had the CB on and heard about the interstate being closed, so they detoured off onto Rt 11S, that was just as bad, clogged with other detourers. So Gene figured out a way to get to where he needed to be by going to Charles Town! Part II to follow..

Tonight the Captain, First Mate, and GeeGee are bedded down in South Carolina. They went shopping in SC, at two thrift stores and one antique shop. GeeGee found a table that she really liked and wanted....Wanda had to talk her out of it...
When I called tonight, Gene answered, he thought it was his buddy calling that he had "called ealier" (though it was my phone he called) - so he passed me over to Wanda. We had a good chuckle over it, told her to tell Gene he needs to call his buddy at the right number next time!
Wanda sends love and hugs to all, and asked that I tell you she misses you!
She sounded like a little girl. ☺
Now it is time to drown the bath bubbles...
