Hello All,
Just a quick note to make sure that our time stamp is accurate as I see that my last post seemed to carry an errant date.
Also, I am excited to update bloggers that we are working toward the release of a second--yes second--eaglecam. This has been in the works for some time and we anticipate a cam release during early February. So far the images are looking great!
We also anticipate the release of a Peregrine Falcon camera at about the same time. Without doubt I will keep you posted and cross your fingers for our next endeavors.

I missed all of you guys. Son got us a new computer for Christmas. It will be here after he sets it up for us. We did see beautiful eagles and lots of snow.
I will not be on much trying to catch up. Wow Paula new cams. Great. Have not even looked in on Tai yet. We went to the Oregon Zoo for night lights and saw the baby elephant. Most of the animals were not out.

Red I enjoy retirement. I was working one day a week until my trip but said I will not be back after Christmas.
Mrs. Red cannot understand that I don't get bored at home with nothing to do. Guess I should enjoy it now cause when she retires I think she will be looking for things for me to do besides watching birds and nests. lol

In case anyone wonders about my new Avatar, it the Alabama Coat of Arms. I've lived here most of my life and I don't think I have ever seen it before today. Just ran across it this morning. I like the eagles in it.

Ahhh, retirement. I retired two months before Jack retired. We love it and we are sooo happy. He does his thing, I do my thing, and we do lots together. He eats when he is hungry, I eat when I am hungry and we cook and eat together in the evening. I tolerate his computer games and he tolerates my eagle watching. It is called LOVE and RESPECT,

Red, I love the coat of arms, very regal!! Oh Ceil, Mattie is going to be so jealous. She wants one of those touch screen computers. Maybe one of these days!
Buddy (our Buddy, not Thelma's) is coming along nicely. His hair is growing in. He is still really skiddish, can certainly tell he hasn't been around alot of people, but he is getting better at being around us. As you can imagine, this is a pretty rowdy place sometimes. Lots of family coming and going and that is taking some getting used to for him. But, all in all, he is doing great.
He has the potential to be a little sweetheart. I can't wait to see how he does camping and on the boat. Us and 4 dachshunds on the boat this summer should be interesting, for sure.
Andrew called. He is coming home tomorrow. It is certainly alot different around here when he is gone. Alot less laundry but I don't like it. I am not gonna do well when he moves someday. But, that ain't happening today, so I will think about it another day.
Sissy, We rescued a dog from an abusive situation about 18 months ago. It took him a little time to adjust to being loved but now is like one of the family. He was being abused by a man and it took longer for him to adjust to me than Mrs Red but he's ok with me now.
I just became a fan of Biodiversity on Facebook. I really like Facebook. I just never could get into the whole My Space thing. This is alot more user friendly for me.
Yeah, Red, Buddy is our 3rd rescue dog. We have fostered a few dachshunds before, but he is the 3rd that lives here for good. Only Ellie Mae came to us as a puppy. Hollie is from the Animal Shelter, Hubert belonged to some people we know and was very malnourished when we got him, and now Buddy. The people that had Hubert only fed him food from the Dollar Tree and it didn't have enough nutrition in it. He has blossomed with us. Kibbles and Bits certainly agrees with him. This is our second year with him, 4th with Hollie.
Hi Sissy - miss being here more often. Strength is coming back so guess you will see more of me.

Missed a lot of Nest Visits today....going on to my three 12-hour days starting at 6 am, so will miss everything for the next three, so I'll be watching the comments to see what I miss...

Traffic on the interstate in our county was backed up, for miles and miles. Accidents were mostly at the 7 mm, starting at around 0930 - and by 4 pm traffic still inching along southbound for 10 miles...all the town streets were pretty much clogged up too. WOOF ! Sure glad I only had to do a 90-minute stint at the office.
Sudden snow squalls and white out conditions led to multi-vehicle accidents.
Sure wish we had asked Wanda to have Butterfly Mama or someone give us an update on their trip....seems they would have been southbound on I-81 about the time this occurred.....but I guess No News is Good News....
Wow- sounds like a mess, snow squalls were really fierce here this morning too.
Megan, about the time you posted your information about it this morning, is about when it happened in these parts! Martinsburg didn't have much of anything !

Yeah, it was coming down like crazy here for a while, you couldn't see anything outside. we were watching DC news this am, right before daylight they were having accidents due to black ice on the roads.
YAY - got to see the Mount Basketball team beat their opponent by 19 points!

I saw the eagle at NBG, can't watch those two cams though, have an issue with my computer or I think it's the monitor, makes the screen jump around terribly. So I'm waiting for a visit to our nest.
That is a shaame Began. That Norfolk cam has such a good view. But, at least you do get to watch the most important eagles, ours!!

PANDA NEWS!--Shown on last nite news!! -- The same PANDA that bit the man who went over the PANDA'S fence to hug the PANDA---repeated his attack yesterday! -- (on a father who went over the fence to retrieve his son's jacket)--DAD was attacked & bitten in several places!!---NOW PANDA will be placed in a different type of cage!!-----
The panda did what pandas do. The people are the ones messing up. Move them, not the panda!!

Dana- tell Ed no- fast food is the worst thing to put in his tummy especially after not eating much for days. That stuff is so bad for you anyway. Paula's right, bananas, toast, rice, soup(if he hates chicken, try another mild soup)etc... No charge for this Drs advice.......
As far as the panda, I don't know if you can expect completely
'normal' behavior from an animal who is forced to live it's entire life in a pen/cage. jmo
