I kept opening another screen to get sound, which only lasts for about 40 seconds, but pic kept freezing while eagle was in nest.
That was a great shot at BWO, turned around and looked right into the camera.

Hety Dana:) hope Ed gets better soon- you are right, I have had that jumpy screen issue for about 2years, no one could figure out why.
NBG was up most of the day, had an eagle on tree branch by nest for couple of hours-screen went black when I was at bus stop.

RED out cam at NCTC runs off of Real Player. Could the sound problem be with Real Player? Something we need to do to make it compatible???
Dana - our cam doesn't use real player any more...it uses adobe flash player.
There's no settings to adjust, unfortunately...
Megan I thought I remember that. Sometimes my brain is out in cyberspace. WOW 2009 for jumpy computer monitors is a FIX !!! yeaaaaaa

Caltrans is absolute Torture for my computer...a few minutes is about all it will tolerate, more than that, and I am in the Arctic Zone for awhile. :(
Well I tell you if our sound at NCTC nest. Worked as well as hubby sitting on couch snoring. We'd be in BUSINESS with no SOUND PROBLEMS LOL

I don't know what it is, ref Caltrans, although Deb and a few others have mentioned the same thing.
Nothing will refresh, then I can't shut it down, then when I do the internet cookies, files, history clean up it is loaded!
I guess I can live with it, so long as I have NCTC....☺

Quicktime uses a lot of your CPU..does the same thing for me...nothing you can do about it...except buy a new computer!
I was looking into the Adobe Flash Player and there are a lot of adjustment that can be made. I am thinking they would have to be made on NCTC's part.

I agree that the sound problem is not us but a problem with the feed from NCTC. Either NCTC hookup or their provider.

Just a quick log on to let you know we made it to Omaha. It was a long drive from Sioux City on, 1/4 to 1/2 mile visibility. I am glad we decided to come now and not after dark.

Very strange, huh? Also noticed that since late last week, if I left the blog open and didn't do any activity on it for awhile, it would freeze me up completely!
Ran a security scan and no issues were found, so....computers..argh...can't live with them and can't live without them...just like some men, huh??

Jo, I can tell you are feeling MUCH better--hip hip hooray!
Drs. visit was good...x-ray was fine. He thinks my scapular pain is muscular (probably from feeding the fire!) so he injected it w/ cortisone, and I'm supposed to stay on the heating pad...feeling better so far!
Sooooo, I guess I am not the Lone Swordfish on that one! "misery loves company" but I wish we could resolve it...gotta use some more brain power!

Jo, you probably missed my sound issue while you were sick....if I turn on the live cam..when I shut it down, the sound won't go away until I reboot...very strange...Red tried to help, but says I really need a tech to try to solve the problem...too risky for an amateur!

Hedgie - I have the same problem with the blog...if I don't post for awhile it take about 5 minutes to refresh, or will freeze up completely...have to shut down all of IE to get back in...
If I leave the live video on for a period of time...when I close the window, I can still hear the nest sounds....I have to close all IE windows, then the sound will shut off.
Well...got some shots, but need to plug into puter to see how good they turned out...or not! Will wait til later to try that. Think it's time to head back to heating pad.
Paula, glad to hear that I'm not the only one...hope Red sees your post. He thinks that I may have too many sound cards (it shows 2), and one needs to be eliminated...but its a techie thing. I could always just turn volume down, but afraid that it continues to use my allotted download time which is limited on Hughesnet except for between 3-6am...it's called the Fair Access Policy ...if I exceed it, then I get penalized=slowed down to like dial-up speed for 24 hrs.
The clouds have finally cleared here too...good luck Hedgie.

Paula, I read on microsoft's web page of a problem with Sound Blaster cards. Sometimes if the driver for the sound card gets reloaded you can end up with two drivers and this can cause sound to continue even when IE is closed. Sure sounded like what Hedgie has. But to get rid of the extra driver it requires editing Syetem.ini file.

Good morning all you wonderful eagle people. All is quiet on the home front this morning. Eagle at BWE but that is the only sign of life right now. There was a sea eagle at Finney when I first signed on at 4:50 am but it left right after that.
