Hi, Lynn and Sharon. Now that you are home, Sharon, don't be surprised if you have separation anxiety after being with Sissy and Thelma for so long. If you do, don't worry about it, it will go away.
PAUL, You do exactly what Gene does when he goes to hunt camp. He stops at Seneca Rocks and refreshes and waves at our friend CAROL (:)) and then stops at Wal-Mart before going on to camp at Files Creek. ST. LEO'S... Wonderful church, I guess you could call it a business. They seem to be very productive. A few years ago, they had a Benifit for a young boy with a serious ailment (I can't remember what it was now), and I was asked to donate a Santa Suit for the Silent Auction. I did so, and was invited to attend and enjoy the wonderful buffet they had set up. Gene and I enjoyed it so much...bought a lot of wonderful items at the auction.
Hedgie...I used to go to the old St. James church. Went to a Knight of Columbus meeting in the new church lower level and they have the beautiful stained glass windows from the old church in the hall displayed with lights behind them. They gave me a tour but the lights were out in the main church.Need to go back some other atime.
Guess what...Our third Son, his daughter and his son were Bell Ringers for a time at the Presby. church. The lady in charge still does a wonderful job. And the people there a really nice too.
Turkeys are in the PA woods Snowman cam I think is frozen - the black bird has been suspended all am The moose in UT are still hoping for some snow! Suz sent email pic of Snow in the Nest at Finney! Lots of it! No eagles of course. Clouded leopards are resting.. None of the others are visible on cams on the Asia trail.
Wanda...I just guessed that about Gene. That Walmart has the best hunting section that I have ever seen. I`m going to look up where Files Creek is too. (Is Carol on athe blog?) Think Gene would be interested in "our" location. It`s private but guests are welcome. That fund drive at St. Leo`s was started by a Knight and the whole church picked up on it, Thanks to a lot of people like yourself it was very successful.

Ladies - You might want to think twice before making your husband accompany you when you go shopping.
After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunately, my wife is like most women - - she loved to browse. Yesterday my dear wife received the following letter from the local Wal-Mart.
Over the past six months, your husband has been causing quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and have been forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against Mr. Samsel are listed below and are documented by our video surveillance cameras.
1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they weren't looking.
2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.
3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women's restroom.
4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, 'Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away.'
5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&M's on layaway.
6. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.
7. August 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told other shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department.
8. August 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?'
9. September 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose.
10. September 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.
11. October 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the ' Mission Impossible' theme.
12. October 6: In the auto department, he practiced his 'Madonna look' by using different sizes of funnels.
13. October 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled 'PICK ME! PICK ME!'
14. October 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed 'OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!'
And last, but not least:
15. October 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, then yelled very loudly, 'Hey! There's no toilet paper in here!'
Wanda - I bet Gene better come home soon and smack your mouse!!!!!! Just had the joke in my email & I had to chuckle because I would love to see some guy pull some of these off!
Back for a short look-see. Paulleo, what is your sons' name? I'm sure Christie (Reed) probably knows them. I had read that St. J 's had taken their old stained glass to the new building..must be lovely! Neat way to acclimate the birds to YOU, Red!!! Yea, Sharon...home in your own abode...bet it feels good..."there's no place like home!" Had a brief power outage right as the sleet --> rain started....having to reset clocks, microwave, stereos, etc. ARGH!
Paulleo--the music director, Ceil, is fantastic...she wants to retire but they keep giving her incentives to stay...she does it all: organist, choir director and bells--there are 5 bell choirs! The people there are nice, and even tho' so many Presby churches are "dying" because of aging congregations, there seems to be a good influx of younger folks there.
Lynn, I never liked to go to church alone either. When Gene was still working...he seldom had Sundays off. Managers seldom had weekends off at Food 4 Less. Anyway, I was always glad when he did get a Sunday off and we could go together...I felt complete. Anytime you would like to go with us, just holler :)
Beautiful photo, Loretta. LYNN, sorry, had to leave for awhile. We belong to the Moler Ave. Church of the Brethren. We attend the 10:45 service. Very friendly people.
Got another great email from secretary at the Park. She comes in about 1/2 hour earlier than others & saw the 2 PRP eagles at nest starting 2 weeks ago!!!!! Unfortunately, Vis Ctr will be closed weekdays for 2 months, so I will only be there every other Sat! Boo Maybe I'll just have tto go there sojmetimje on kmy own. I should be doing Xmas w/ the xtra time, but I have NO idea what to buy. Boo again. !t might be boring money &/or gift certificates.
Hedgie...Our son`s name is Andy, granddaughter`s name is Amanda(Mandy at that church) and grandson is Daniel. They were in three separate choirs. Couldn`t remember Ceil Frazier`s name.
The new parking lot is a big help too. We had a real nice banquet there a few days ago.
It`s snowing at Harrison Michigan at the Extreme Bird Feeding location...Can you believe that they use over 200 pounds of bird food a WEEK? Also must be snowing at the Snowman Cam. The numbers on the snow guage are covered in snow.(But the snow is not that deep though LOL)
Red...Maybe they have so many feeders that the birds don`t know which one to go to and then give up.LOL I haven`t seen many birds there.
BTW thanks for confirming my comment about the Cookies and the Temporary Internet Files. Do you empty your tempy files automatically when you close out your brouser?
Wonder where our Big Birds are tonight and how they are keeping dry.... havn't given up on a visit yet but work time looms....12-hour shift coming up..
The Canada Geese here are really flying low and south, makes such a wonder honking noise.... as I said before, I am pretty sure they are just locals...flying too low to be migrating...
Okay, Margy, we'll have to plan it. Paulleo, I'll ask daughter if she knows them....sure, of course, that she does! It is getting more raw every hour...still some sleet mixed in w/ the rain here. SIL brought me corn, so hopefully my deer will come and stay and be safe!! Have heard shots all day.
I don't know if NCTC has legal hunting or not, but I overhead something on the scanner the other day that sounded like DNR was on to info about some employee hunting that they were going after!
Margy, the hunters are still fireing around here and it is entirely too dark and late to see and hunt properly...should be a time limit on hunting. It is pitch black here.
Hope you have an uneventful PM at work, Margy. The turkey was a pet of one of our naturalists. He brought it in to Park for one of our "Kid's Days" & put it in the log cabin garden enclosure. It went for programs at other Nature Ctrs w/him & would walk up & down the aisles of meeting room like a pet!
Helen, my puppy days were over a long time ago. Love them but just like having a child to care for and I am past that stage of my life, too. I would love for my Mom to have a puppy for a companion, but fear it would be too much of a burden on her. Sure would keep her company.
Red, when the audio is working you can hear a lot of stuff going on, geese overhead, children laughing, gunshots, the guy that lives nearby has a motorcycle, jet planes flying by....
Oh, Loretta, I love corned beef and cabbage. We have a nice big one somewhere in our freezer, but it is about 3 ft. down near the bottom and I haven't the energy to dig it out. I think it has been there for 10 years :)
do you think that is when we read about most accidental shootings?? Yes, Wanda a puppy would be nice for Gee-Gee, but she might trip or something...how about a RO-BO PANDA:)?
The six Shiba Inu pups (3 boys and 3 girls) will turn 7 weeks old on November 25th. This is the first litter from their mom, Kika.
Girls: - Autumn (Purple collar) - 4 lbs 1.2 oz (as of Nov 18th) - Ayumi (Yellow collar) - 3 lbs 14.6 oz (as of Nov 18th) - Amaya (Red collar) - 4 lbs 0.2 oz (as of Nov 18th)
Boys: - Aki (Green collar) - 4 lbs 13.8 oz (as of Nov 18th) - Akoni (Black collar) - 4 lbs 8.8 oz (as of Nov 18th) - Ando (Blue collar) - 4 lbs 15.0 oz (as of Nov 18th)
11/23/08: We are currently testing the Eagle Cam feed. Soon we will be sending our tree climber up to the nest to prepare the equipment for the new season
My goodness, Margy was going to work...I thought she was wearing her camaflage pants to bed and wondered why...thought it might be cold in her apartment. Seems like that poor girl is either going to work or going to bed.
North Carolina authorities say a shopper clubbed an alleged carjacker with a frozen turkey as he tried to steal a woman’s car in a grocery store parking lot Sunday. Other shoppers came to her rescue, including one who hit Ervin with the turkey.
Despite serious head injuries, Ervin got away in Bailey’s car and hit several other cars as he fled. But police arrested him a short time later.
Just finished phone call from our gal who is traveling to Charlottesville to see the Surgeon. Andrew and his friend Jon are the ones driving her there. She sounded strong - but wanted you all to get those prayers & positive thoughts heading her way! The surgeon knows she is headed his way and she should arrive around 9 to 9:30. Bev, Helen or I will keep you advised as we hear any news.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Henry Marcum has nothing but kind words for the dog that shot his 23-year-old son this weekend.
Marcum says his son, Matthew, was standing in Tillamook Bay at the start of duck-hunting trip when his dog jumped into the boat, setting off a 12-gauge shotgun.
The blast blew a hole in the aluminum boat before hitting Marcum, who is recovering from injuries to his legs and buttocks at Portland's Legacy Emanuel Hospital.
Henry Marcum says he's not angry with the dog, and neither is his son.
The elder Marcum says the Labrador named Drake is a good dog and the shooting is "just one of those things."
yes, Deb, she is, seems like it is a tad more than just redness, the mesh may have become infected...so she is going to the right place, to bad it takes 5 hours to get there.
Too bad about Sharon. Glad that Andrew was able to take her so that Sissy gets a break. Hope he's a careful new driver!! So the surgeon is going to be waiting for her? That's good, but obvious that he is concerned to do so. If she doesn't have to stay, sure hope they spend the night at Thelma's . Prayers riding w/ them!
Thelma is about 90 minutes away I think, they told Sharon to go to the ER when she got there, so don't know if her surgeon will be waiting, but I hope he is...

Well, Jo, did you read my explanation as to why you couldn't see it?
right now, Jo, just buzzing noises
I sure did! I checked it all out and it really did return!
Then the tapping noise I hear must mean that my speakers are going haywire!
and now I hear nothing.

SNOW in OREGON nest!!
Time to get some work done, and eat some lunch!! BBL.
Turkeys are in the PA woods
Snowman cam I think is frozen - the black bird has been suspended all am
The moose in UT are still hoping for some snow!
Suz sent email pic of Snow in the Nest at Finney! Lots of it! No eagles of course.
Clouded leopards are resting..
None of the others are visible on cams on the Asia trail.
Cam Surf is Finished..
Puppy cam is on..
Off to find some lunch..........BBL
Wanda...I just guessed that about Gene. That Walmart has the best hunting section that I have ever seen. I`m going to look up where Files Creek is too. (Is Carol on athe blog?) Think Gene would be interested in "our" location. It`s private but guests are welcome.
That fund drive at St. Leo`s was started by a Knight and the whole church picked up on it, Thanks to a lot of people like yourself it was very successful.
Hubby just came home from donating blood - he found gas at $1.76 at
an Exxon station on the Golden Mile (Rt 40 into Frederick)
Back to lunch... haven't found anything really good yet!

THIS GENTLEMAN MUST CERTAINLY BE OUR "RED". LOL
SORRY, DIDN'T THINK THIS JOKE WOULD TAKE UP SO MUCH ROOM. I'll remove it after a few minutes (let some of you read it first).
Thanksgiving Day
Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 40s. this is Bethesda forcast:)
Wanda - I bet Gene better come home soon and smack your mouse!!!!!!
Just had the joke in my email & I had to chuckle because I would love to see some guy pull some of
these off!
Haha Wanda. You know me better than I thought.
A little birdy had just sent that joke to me too.
Hopefully that forecast, Mits will head up here to the valley!
All puppies are taking their nap
BBL
My daughter just sent that joke to me. I have seen it before, but it made me laugh again.
its an oldie but a goodie:)
I have done numbers 1 and 2 but not at walmart. I placed a package of kotex in a mans cart once
Now I'm off for a short nap. BBL
Leave the joke, Wanda. Everyone needs a good laugh!
sounds like rain at the nest.
or from looks at radar maybe a little sleet
Back for a short look-see. Paulleo, what is your sons' name? I'm sure Christie (Reed) probably knows them. I had read that St. J 's had taken their old stained glass to the new building..must be lovely!
Neat way to acclimate the birds to YOU, Red!!!
Yea, Sharon...home in your own abode...bet it feels good..."there's no place like home!"
Had a brief power outage right as the sleet --> rain started....having to reset clocks, microwave, stereos, etc.
Anytime you would like to go with us, just holler :)
puppies all in a pile:)
Hi Everyone--just got a wonderful pic from good friend at the Park. She was there late for a meeting & took this pic!
looks like turkey is trying to find a way out:)
Thanks, Wanda. Where do you go?
Beautiful photo, Loretta.
LYNN, sorry, had to leave for awhile. We belong to the Moler Ave. Church of the Brethren. We attend the 10:45 service. Very friendly people.
Helen, I think Lubby should get you a puppy for Christmas...maybe Ed should get Jo one too :):):)
Boo
Maybe I'll just have tto go there sojmetimje on kmy own. I should be doing Xmas w/ the xtra time, but I have NO idea what to buy. Boo again. !t might be boring money &/or gift certificates.
Lots of deer attacking the apples at RDHC's live wildlife cam...
HELEN - you have email.
Eagle at BWO
Nightlight and raindrops our nest
I had a good nap. Nest looks wet now.
Paulleo, I have two feeders and I use 25 lbs of sunflower seed a week. I'm surprised thats all they use.
No. But I empty them manually abouot once a week.
Good Rainy Berkeley County Afternoon to All...
hear those last chance gunshots at NCTC and the choo choo...
Sandman is still in my eyes...
xo
It's a November day if ever there was one...Brrrr for the Birds at OUR NEST -
Friend in NY - not far from Erie Pa, reports Tundra Swans are still heading this way...I keep listening.
NO ISS scheduled for tonight...good thing, we wouldn't be able to see it...
xo ♥
Hedgie...I would love to have you join me at St James sometime....
Paulleo when I read Fr. Brian at first I thought you meant the St James Father Brian...I know St Leo's is a wonderful church too...
As are so many others of all denominations...
We heard a gunshot awhile ago, too.
Nature Nut: beautiful picture you posted And, I love your new Avatar
Sure is nice to "see" everyone...
xo
Those last chance gunshots are a risk...takes a really good hunter to see what they they are shooting, and then to find it...
I'm wondering if the Choo Choo is Amtrak, or, more likely, Norfolk and Western.
Another gunshot....
Wonder where our Big Birds are tonight and how they are keeping dry....
havn't given up on a visit yet but work time looms....12-hour shift coming up..
:(
Does NCTC allow hunting?
The Canada Geese here are really flying low and south, makes such a wonder honking noise....
as I said before, I am pretty sure they are just locals...flying too low to be migrating...
Okay, Margy, we'll have to plan it.
Paulleo, I'll ask daughter if she knows them....sure, of course, that she does!
It is getting more raw every hour...still some sleet mixed in w/ the rain here.
SIL brought me corn, so hopefully my deer will come and stay and be safe!! Have heard shots all day.
Nagative, RED, but there are many farms close by....
Farms and Woods I should say...it is in a pretty rural area...
I don't know if NCTC has legal hunting or not, but I overhead something on the scanner the other day that sounded like DNR was on to info about some employee hunting that they were going after!
Oops--overheard, I meant!
Margy, the hunters are still fireing around here and it is entirely too dark and late to see and hunt properly...should be a time limit on hunting. It is pitch black here.
I guess I don't know that for sure about NCTC - just figure it would be impossible that they would allow it!
Paula will know...
Wanda, my puppy days are over, don't want the responsibility.
Some places allow Bow Hunting...selectively, like DuPont (or the old DuPont, now FasLoc) in northern Berkeley County...friend of mine does that...
Time to change from pajamas to street clothes, pack lunch, and get ready to head out...might be back one more time before heading out..
You all have a nice, warm, dry evening if you can... xo ♥
Hope you have an uneventful PM at work, Margy.
The turkey was a pet of one of our naturalists. He brought it in to Park for one of our "Kid's Days" & put it in the log cabin garden enclosure. It went for programs at other Nature Ctrs w/him & would walk up & down the aisles of meeting room like a pet!
just heard another shot....guess to me it would be nice if there were a set time...like sundown
The reason I asked was because I heard gunshots there today.
I guess birds are hunkered down, so I can go boil more extra cabbage for the corned beef.
BBL ☺ ☺ ☺
"Last Light" I guess is how they regulate it, Wanda...but some people know how to stretch that! It is definitely last light if you ask me !
Every place I have ever hunted Sundown it the cut off point.
Helen, my puppy days were over a long time ago. Love them but just like having a child to care for and I am past that stage of my life, too.
I would love for my Mom to have a puppy for a companion, but fear it would be too much of a burden on her. Sure would keep her company.
Helen, I think sundown IS the set time, but maybe that's just MD.
2 little hummer heads peeking above the nest;)
deer party at RDHC
Helen...ROFLMBO!!
Okay - Sayonara Eagle ♀'s and ♂'s
Wanda - I got my camouflage flannelly pants on...!
Night Night all...xox ♥

BWO EAGLE CAM UPDATE....
11/23/08:
We are currently testing the Eagle Cam feed.
I get tired trying to keep up with her
omg...such yelling and crying on the puppy cam...
deer snowman cam
Whats going on with the puppys Mits?
If I can howl so can you!!
Puppy cam is hilarious - noisy too.
They're sure howling about something. lol
I think they are all singing for their supper! lol
RED - did you read my comment about Deer hunt at NCTC?
Yes Jo. Thanks!
I thought one was stuck somewhere....;)
Puppies go to new homes this week I think.
maybe someone home and they have not said hello yet.
lol....what a group...
I think I read that somewhere to, Red....good luck to the new owners...
Herd of deer at the snowman......
Raccoon in the PA woods.....
Very large lone deer at RDHC's Wildlife cam
Large lone moose on the Moosewatch
Paulleo, if you're lurking...my daughter knows Andy and the kids and also remembers that his wife works at Guy's!
Wanda, don't even think about cooking that corned beef!!!!! Pitch it!!!
OMG, it is puppy theater!!
Momma is home on the puppy cam and it's time for cleaning up the pen.
Sad update on the Sichaun earthquake in May....terrible aftermath #'s of disabled and unemployed...story on cbs.com

aww they want puppy loving:)
everybody wants a hug;)
off to fix dinner too..bbialw
I know I spelled that wrong!!! Maybe Sichuan?????
Don't steal a car in North Carolina!
But police arrested him a short time later.
hey its Thanksgiving time....what did that idiot expect...;)
I thought it was funny, too. Knowing today's society he will probably sue the turkey hitter.
Those puppies are sure craving attention today. Oh, it is dinner time!
Update on Sharon
Just finished phone call from our gal who is traveling to Charlottesville to see the Surgeon.
Andrew and his friend Jon are the ones driving her there. She sounded strong - but wanted you all to get those prayers & positive thoughts heading her way! The surgeon knows she is headed his way and she should arrive around 9 to 9:30. Bev, Helen or I will keep you advised as we hear any news.
Primo is lying by the feeder.
Prayers for our Sharon.
Is she going back because of the redness she was talking about yesterday??
BBL
GUN TOTING DOG.....
AND HE WILL PROBABLY SUE THE FROZEN TURKEY COMPANY...
yep, she sure has been thru alot recently....
yes, Deb, she is, seems like it is a tad more than just redness, the mesh may have become infected...so she is going to the right place, to bad it takes 5 hours to get there.
Yes, she has, my prayers are sure with her on her way to Charlotte and with her doctor visit.
did the puppies get a new toy??
mine, mine, mine!!!!!!
its a red lobster...
Oops, forgot to use the puppy pads. :( 6 puppies would be a lot of work!
Thelma is about 90 minutes away I think, they told Sharon to go to the ER when she got there, so don't know if her surgeon will be waiting, but I hope he is...
