Well, it looks like I am going to DC next weekend. Andrew's friend, Jon, has a recital at the Basilica on Sunday. I am going to see Tai live and in panda on Saturday!! YEAH!
I am so jealous! Me, Mattie, and Tom are going to Gatlinburg next weekend with some family and stay on Blueberry Hill in a beautiful cabin. I will get my chance in the winter when Andrew plays in Manassas, hopefully.
Thanks for really cool link, Steve! Dana, TY for donkey site, too! Red...sorry I confused you. Thought they were all yours! Glad we had some belly laughs! Welcome home, Deb!! Sissy...would you like to be a panda when you grow up? So neat that Sharon gets to go to the zoo..not to mention the beautiful Basilica! And Dollywood should be lots of fun for you Sissy! No RP here, either.
I was wondering about that Dana, cause I had always heard it referred to as brace!!! Oh well. I saw that "thing" on the still cam, too...wondered about its shape...a really oval turtle!
If I had said something about the turtle shell. Jo seen it she would be on that "Momster Scooter" heading towards NCTC. Get caught by a cop then she wouldn't be able to rent one for Open House NCTC Octorber. You all know how it is "we have to watch out for one another"... Jo has always wanted a turtle shell from the tree.
Me and Mattie just put a blueberry cobbler in the oven. Really smelling up the place. Hope it tastes as good as it smells. Blueberry picking time again this weekend!!
I just checked out tracking of the eaglet from Tesoro Birdie. Still shows around Richmond, Va. Unless someplace there is a update not on tracking page.
By the way our Sandra's beautiful picture was in todays paper. She made her school reunion. Sandra really looked good ... keep it up Sandra yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hugs
That Lib sure is a great eagle Dad. He got tired of sitting in the nest with the fish, so he took off with it. Came back to the nest w/ the fish, and a minute later a juvie arrived for dinner. How cool is that!
I was watching Mei sometime during the night and it was like the light would go off, then come back on in 3 or 4 stages. Strangest thing or maybe I was dreaming, who knows!
Evening everyone. Sharon I was up during the night and saw the moon and Jupiter. I thought it was an airplane. I live in the city and most of the time cannot see the stars. As magpie said don't forget to look tonight. Full moon coming up just right for a panda cub or two.
MOVIN - I see that the second little lady has joined the first at the WE nest...
Hey Eagle Buds! You have got to treat yourself and open up JIM's Catalina Report link...be sure to open up both the videos if you can. Truly, Awesome. Thanks Again, Jim. I want to come to California!
Lynn, I haven't even had any of mine yet but Mattie said it was awesome. I just saw where the blueberry picking place opened up this weekend and it made me want one. Me and Mattie may go up there this weekend and pick a few. Still have some in the freezer from the last time.
Hello.....long day at the zoo today, very warm, Dana, my shift is 1 til 4...I was up at the sloths most of the time...lataset on Mei...hormone levels still dropping, but right now it looks like maybe another 1 to 3 weeks before weknow anything
Oh, Mits, it's so frustrating to have to wait so long! Bet it really was hot at the zoo. Hope you've had a nice shower and gotten cooled off! Margy, as usual, leaf canopy too thick to see anything!
Understood, Hedgie.... I have the city lights to contend with for some of the "specials" at other times, but I can generally get some good views of the the Moon. Love it when it slides along next to one of the Planets!
I'm counting at least six racoons at PIXCONTROLLER. Here's the site again (I can't do the blue thingy either).. http://www.pixcontroller.com/WebCam/WebCam.htm
If you don't see them once, just hop on there again in a few short minutes and they should be back on there.
HEDGIE: DID YOU CHECK OUT MOVIN'S CATALINA REPORT LINK?
Yes, Margy, it was a great report! One of my favorite "sky" things is the shuttle...saw it a few times when I was in FL when mom lived there and saw both day & night liftoffs. Winter '06-'07--can't remember the month--the flight trajectory was bringing it right up the coast, and I had the NASA channel up so knew about the right time to start watching; bundled up and went out and sure enough...there it was...so cool!
That would be one of my dreams, Hedgie, to see something like that. MITS sent me a cool NASA site, and maybe you already have that...I can send it along on another post if needed.
I hate to say this, but I remember years ago, watching 'ECHO" going through the sky, and maybe even "Sputnik" but I was so young for that one... And I remember when the "sound barrier" booms would occur too.
And then, there were the SkyLab parties when it came back down to earth....that was hilarious! (sometime in 1979 or 1980...)
I guess there are some advantages to being "older."
Right you are, Marg! I remember seeing the skylab, too. Don't know for sure, but think I saw the MIR space station once, and have seen the ISS a couple of times, but basically it's just the lights...moves so slow in orbit compared to the rapid track of the shuttle! Please send the NASA site...I'll see if it's the same one that I've been on before.
Saw that cartoon, too. How 'bout this: "Mirror mirror on the wall, I look like my mother after all." I looked like my dad for the first 45 years of my life, and now, especially in the last 5, I find that I look SO much like my mom! Strange....
HEDGIE: Yes, it's funny how "Genes" work isn't it?
I have saved so many Family Circus cartoons over the years I can fill a scrapbook. The "mom" figure recently died, a couple of months ago. She had Alzheimer's Disease. That cartoon is priceless!
Getting late, folks are going to start hitting the sack soon, so GOOD NIGHT TO THOSE CHECKING OUT..
NATURENUT: Great eaglet sighting news from PWP earlier..
We were apparently the only ones on, Margy! Anything special planned for your days off? Hope you get a good rest tonight, and don't get called in while you're off! Wanda--if you come on board after I'm gone--Hi! How's Dustin feeling? How are you holding up?? Night all. Blessings.
spaceweather.com has lots of interesting sky info. The space station will be visible the next few mornings and evenings. The moon is beautiful tonite paired with Jupiter. Nite all:)
DEB: Is that buck a white tail or some other kind like a Mule Deer..Whatta Rack! Like Megan (I think it was Megan..)says: The Buck Moon....fitting title for this month's full moon..
We need to cut some trees down; can't see the moon or the sky. Our house is surrounded by trees and they blank out everything. I use to be able to lay in bed and look out at the sky...no more.
You girls didn't wait on me! Have to turn in anyway. Dustin has a doctor's appointment in Winchester in the morning at 10 o'clock. Need to get up early.
Yay! You made it Costume Lady! Hedgie has too much of a tree canopy too...can't see the moon. Now that I have seen your "pad" I can see what you mean. If you are up before daybreak, you might be able to catch a glimpse of something because the moon is kind of low in the South West sky before it "sets" in the morning.
My sister (who died in December) made ths absolute BEST Blueberry pies....Probably cooking them up for her heavenly buddies now.
I did wait on you, Wanda...just took a very brief stop in the kitchen to clean up a few things. I wanna cry...I have missed you....
Paula??? I sent Wanda a copy of the pic of you and the Eagle Express, she got hers okay. Said you look like a Model! Hope you get it, otherwise, you can email me your mailing address and I will send it out Thursday!
At Loch Garten...only saw one chick, and some wing feathers off way to the right...then I think that chick had either branched or actually flew out for a minute...He's back now but I think today is going to be fly-out day for at least one of them...according to their Bloggers it's any day now... He's way off to the right again..they have been flapping a lot.
Looks like Finneys nest Ospreys are having quite a meal...
Good Morning to all...you're the early bird FLORALGIRL...
JIM: I'll say early! You are three hours behind us so it's gotta still be dark where you are! Maybe you can catch Moonie and Jupiter before they set...
Here's an interesting article on the return of Skye to Santa Cruz and placement into the hacking tower.
He's the older of the two eaglets, which were attacked in their nest and tumbled about 40 feet to the ground. Skye suffered a broken wing in the attack.
Three BIG turkeys at Pix in Pa. I wonder why we never see any offspring of the animals that frequent that site? You would think the parents would bring their little ones for a FREE meal.
Gotta go. Dustin has a doctor appointment this morning in Winchester. Have to get him up and showered...get coffee pot going and make some breakfast. BBLT. HAVE A GOOD DAY.
Hello all you early birds Margie, Sharon, Jim and Wanda!! Back in from the garden, pretty morning, supposed to be a hot one today. Have a great day all! Running out for a while, talk to you all much later:)
Good morning everyone. Jim thanks for the pictures of Skye. He is a handsome bird. Wish him well. Off to have some breakfast. Neighbor gave me peach pie.
Good morning, everyone. Me and Mattie are in Falls Mills at my m-i-l's house. She is certainly alot more feeble than before. I am so grateful Mattie is here to help me or I wouldn't hardly be able to work. Bless her heart.

Well, it looks like I am going to DC next weekend. Andrew's friend, Jon, has a recital at the Basilica on Sunday. I am going to see Tai live and in panda on Saturday!! YEAH!
Hi, everyone! I am home, trying to get through e-mails and get my pictures loaded. I have quite a few to get through.
I am so jealous! Me, Mattie, and Tom are going to Gatlinburg next weekend with some family and stay on Blueberry Hill in a beautiful cabin. I will get my chance in the winter when Andrew plays in Manassas, hopefully.
Check out the eagles at Dollywood. I think they have about 12 there that are unreleasable. They also have a good preditor show.
Should have said Raptor show. Where's my brain. lol

There obviously are no juvies close or else this eagle would not be eating the food!
I was wondering about that Dana, cause I had always heard it referred to as brace!!! Oh well.
I saw that "thing" on the still cam, too...wondered about its shape...a really oval turtle!

Parent, is it Lib or Belle?
Me and Mattie just put a blueberry cobbler in the oven. Really smelling up the place. Hope it tastes as good as it smells. Blueberry picking time again this weekend!!
Poor little Mei, just looks so very miserable.
I just checked out tracking of the eaglet from Tesoro Birdie. Still shows around Richmond, Va. Unless someplace there is a update not on tracking page.
Looks like Lib is still waiting for a child to show up for supper!
Boy, how I wish we had sound!! But I am really grateful for the live feed, with or without sound!!
I know what you mean Sissy.

That baby was late for supper.
Parent must have left something on the stove for it.
Megan the Martinsburg Journal
Thanks, I was looking at the Journal online, don't see the pic. Oh well. Later -
That Lib sure is a great eagle Dad. He got tired of sitting in the nest with the fish, so he took off with it. Came back to the nest w/ the fish, and a minute later a juvie arrived for dinner. How cool is that!
Megan no it's not on the paper online...I hate Martinsburg Journal online grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Boy, he is, isn't he Paula. Human parents could really learn alot from this pair, for sure.

Nappy Nappy Magpie zzzzzzzzzzz
Night light on Mei now
I was watching Mei sometime during the night and it was like the light would go off, then come back on in 3 or 4 stages. Strangest thing or maybe I was dreaming, who knows!
Eaglet just flew in at WE
I am starting to get caught up, but still a lot of things to check out. I am loading a picture of a buck that I luckily spotted in a corn field.
BBL ... heading out for awhile!
Evening everyone. Sharon I was up during the night and saw the moon and Jupiter. I thought it was an airplane. I live in the city and most of the time cannot see the stars. As magpie said don't forget to look tonight. Full moon coming up just right for a panda cub or two.
Hi Ceil good to hear from you ( :
Good to hear from you Dana. Just looked in on Mei and Tai and the flamingoe chicks and West End. So much to see. Love it.
Pandas are resting. Did not see the flamingo chicks. One at WE. Our nest empty.
I have 4 juvie cardinals out here. I so love watching them! It looks like 2 of them are male and 2 female! Lanky!
I hear cardinals out back but very seldom see them. I used to have feeders but the pigeons took over. I didn't mind but my neighbors did.
Sharon, I don't think I ever saw a young cardinal.
Think I will go watch some TV. BBL
Ceil, they have brown beaks where the adult has orange beaks!
Good many cardinals at the Okie Bird Cam........ OK
DC Zoo - 1 little flamingo chick
darting around - can't keep up with him.
Little ferret boy is nursing while mom is sound asleep.
Off to TV IF anything worth watching
BBL
Sissy, you made me so hungry for blueberry cobbler that I had to whip one up myself! Just had some...yummmm!
Hi, I don't know if you've seen this; it's a new Catalina Report from Steffi.
All the eaglets on Catalina are doing well this week.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
New Catalina Report
Sharon, I didn't know that. I will watch from now on. Helen has a lot of nice birds in her yard.
Stop what you are doing: Check out the Buck in the Cornfield photo which DEB has posted!
Wow, Double Wow !
Great Shot, DEB, So glad to have you back !
Thanks for the Catalina report, JIM
And there are deer moving around on PixController - ladies and a nice little buck in and out...
soon the racoons will be joining them.
AND, for a cute treat: Check out Blackwater Eagle Cam!
Little Lady still perched at West End...
Finneys Nest, morning has broken and things are looking good !
And a hooded crow coming to and fro at Ferry Boat Finneys...
..And if your skies are clear enough, check out old Moonie and Jupiter in the East...I'm delirious.
HI CEIL - SUCH A TREAT TO SEE YOU ON HERE AGAIN AFTER SO LONG....
XOXO
Last year at Swanging Bradge I saw a nice little family of cardinals taking flying lessons...It was Great!
MOVIN: We were watching an adult having dinner at WEST END a couple of hours. A second flew in for about ten seconds...it was NICE...
And last night, MOVIN, we saw the West End girls flopping up and down and doing some serious wing-flapping at West End..
Thanks, Magpie. I think I saw the wing exercises and hovering last night, but I missed this afternoon's activity altogether.
Probably the adult brought the fish for the youngsters, but they were out exploring, so it ate it itself.
Both eaglets are back from their adventures of the day and are flaked out on the nest now.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
MOVIN - I see that the second little lady has joined the first at the WE nest...
Hey Eagle Buds! You have got to treat yourself and open up JIM's Catalina Report link...be sure to open up both the videos if you can.
Truly, Awesome. Thanks Again, Jim.
I want to come to California!
xo
Yep - there's a lot to watch on "television" here tonight.
WANDA: I am going to stay up late and catch your late night posts if you get on here!
That combination of light and fog at WE makes the scene look like a Dutch painting ...Rembrandt for example.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
That's a perfect description, MOVIN. That nest often has a very dreamy appearance.
Lynn, I haven't even had any of mine yet but Mattie said it was awesome. I just saw where the blueberry picking place opened up this weekend and it made me want one. Me and Mattie may go up there this weekend and pick a few. Still have some in the freezer from the last time.
Racoons have arrived at PIX in PA, and a deer lurking too..
MOVIN: I still get a charge out of checking out your facial on WANDA's WISHES!
Osprey did a nice fly in at Ferry Boat Finney's - some little sailboats in and out there this "morning" there...
DOUBLE E-SISSY: Howdy Gal. You know blueberries are very good for you! So get a bunch !!
xo
WHEW! That was SOME NAP I had !! Going out to gaze at Moonie and Jupiter for a bit...
Hello.....long day at the zoo today, very warm, Dana, my shift is 1 til 4...I was up at the sloths most of the time...lataset on Mei...hormone levels still dropping, but right now it looks like maybe another 1 to 3 weeks before weknow anything
Ferry boat on the move at Ferry Boat Finney's - Wanda - it's for you!
Good night everyone, too tired to fool with this computer tonight.
Oh, Mits, it's so frustrating to have to wait so long! Bet it really was hot at the zoo. Hope you've had a nice shower and gotten cooled off!
Margy, as usual, leaf canopy too thick to see anything!

If you don't see them once, just hop on there again in a few short minutes and they should be back on there.
HEDGIE: DID YOU CHECK OUT MOVIN'S CATALINA REPORT LINK?
I think it's about 3 or 4 in the morning in Finland, but look how bright the sunlight is!!
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
And the Blackwater Eagle nest:
It is a real awwwwwwww-some shot from the early eaglet season....
Agreed, Jim - looks like it is going to be a real nice day there. Wonder what the temperatures are....

I guess there are some advantages to being "older."
Here's a cute little caption off "The Family Circus" cartoon in Tuesday's paper:
"Grandma said wrinkled is not one of the things she wanted to be when she grew up."
Oh, I guess SOME of us can relate to that, but with a few facials..we should be okay...
xo
Right you are, Marg! I remember seeing the skylab, too. Don't know for sure, but think I saw the MIR space station once, and have seen the ISS a couple of times, but basically it's just the lights...moves so slow in orbit compared to the rapid track of the shuttle!
Please send the NASA site...I'll see if it's the same one that I've been on before.
Black storks are wingersizing and spatting w/ each other...also doing some poop-shoots!
So funny to watch the storks balance on one leg...shakily, and to see them sitting on their inverted knees!
Beautiful morning at Finney's.
Saw that cartoon, too.
How 'bout this: "Mirror mirror on the wall, I look like my mother after all." I looked like my dad for the first 45 years of my life, and now, especially in the last 5, I find that I look SO much like my mom! Strange....
GOOD NIGHT, EVERYONE..
Looking forward to tomorrow.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
HEDGIE: Here you go:
http://www.nasa.gov/home/index.html
There is a "Control" that I have to activate to get more action out of the site, and I haven't done that yet.
When I open up Black Storks, it almost always locks up my computer...can't figure it out...
'Night Jim....
Goodnight, Jim.
TY for the link, Margy...will check it out.
Don't know why the stork site would do that!
HEDGIE: Yes, it's funny how "Genes" work isn't it?
I have saved so many Family Circus cartoons over the years I can fill a scrapbook. The "mom" figure recently died, a couple of months ago. She had Alzheimer's Disease.

I'm afraid I've HOGGED THE BLOG this evening....
We were apparently the only ones on, Margy!
Anything special planned for your days off?
Hope you get a good rest tonight, and don't get called in while you're off!
Wanda--if you come on board after I'm gone--Hi! How's Dustin feeling? How are you holding up??
Night all. Blessings.

I love watching the skies...really pretty tonight w/ the moon and planets!
Hey Wanda, I'm still up ! :)
DEB: Is that buck a white tail or some other kind like a Mule Deer..Whatta Rack! Like Megan (I think it was Megan..)says: The Buck Moon....fitting title for this month's full moon..
Oh, I hope I'm not too late. Paula and Margy are still up!
Hello, Hello...can you hear me now?
We need to cut some trees down; can't see the moon or the sky. Our house is surrounded by trees and they blank out everything. I use to be able to lay in bed and look out at the sky...no more.
BLUEBERRIES: A wonderful treat straight from the freezer. Ummm!
You girls didn't wait on me!
Have to turn in anyway. Dustin has a doctor's appointment in Winchester in the morning at 10 o'clock. Need to get up early.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE

Hedgie has too much of a tree canopy too...can't see the moon. Now that I have seen your "pad" I can see what you mean. If you are up before daybreak, you might be able to catch a glimpse of something because the moon is kind of low in the South West sky before it "sets" in the morning.

Beautiful buck, Deb.
Gnite, all!

OUR NEST still empty....
At Loch Garten...only saw one chick, and some wing feathers off way to the right...then I think that chick had either branched or actually flew out for a minute...He's back now but I think today is going to be fly-out day for at least one of them...according to their Bloggers it's any day now...

Good morning, everyone!!
I was up early and thought I would be the first one to sign on to the blog....
You both beat me, Magpie, Megan!!

Good morning, everyone. Me and Mattie are in Falls Mills at my m-i-l's house. She is certainly alot more feeble than before. I am so grateful Mattie is here to help me or I wouldn't hardly be able to work. Bless her heart.
