I went eagle viewing locally yesterday. It was a great day for sure. They are in the area in good numbers now. Guess it has been cold and snowy long enough and a little earlier in the season than usual. Snow here today so I will stay home and work with pictures and videos. I have already put a link to several shots on the forum under outdoor critters if you want to stop by for a look.
MORNIN' MEGAN & GLO!!----I left a message for everyone to come over!!----PRECIOUS has every one watching to see what AWESOME thing she is going to do next!!--- ho!--She reminds everyone of the 'LITTLE PRINCE'-----He's still AWESOME!!--ho!
Howdy Norma, Glo and Helen. Guess it is a dial up thing, I couldn't open the blog page completely at all yesterday. Wouldn't even show me the box to post comments in.
Good morning, folks. I was reading some of the other thread, but it was too long! Glad we got a new one. I did read the update on Sandra, and it sounds positive. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Woah, thanks for the new thread, Steven, and thanks for the heads up Norma! This one sure loads faster! Steven hope you're having a blast in CT. Did you get the snow Maine got this morning? OH EAGLE IN NEST EATING!!! MAINE.
Good morning Glo and Megan, and Sunny! Eagle in Maine eating, Precious trying very very hard to get mom up to play. Oh, eagle just flew onto branch, but still there.
PRECIOUS reminds me of my own children!-----I can remember wanting just 1 more min. of sleep--just asking for 1 min. God!---But no--even when I would put one in bed with me---She would do exactly what PRECIOUS is doing---climbing over me--talking--fussing, etc.---Think back--BET YOU ALL CAN REMEMBER HOW IT FELT---WHEN YOU WANTED 1 MORE MINUTE OF SLEEP!!---Those days were GREAT!!!! ho!
Precious gave up trying to get Mom up, and she's walked out in the hallway to explore and play on her own. She kept Bai up half the night playing, and Bai's tired. Squiggles is out and about. Sun is coming out in Maine, absolutely beautiful with the snow and eagle.
GOOD MORNING SUNNY!!---WOW!---Seeing you on here is MUCH BETTER than see THE DIVERS!!--ho!---Did you hear the EAGLE too?---Beautiful sound---isn't it??
It's hovering around 40° this morning in So Cal... rising to about 60° later. They have forgotten about the rain showers they predicted a couple of days ago.
I mentioned a new monitor for Christmas last evening on the blog. Well, I don't know if it's connected, but AOL was refusing to open when I went to bed last night. Worst case: I lose all my files and have to reload AOL's software. I hate that kind of happening, and it's probably due to a miscount of file sizes by the system.
Good Morning Suzanne, Wanda, Norma, Mits, Candy, Megan, Glo and Watchers.
I've read all the comments. Bob should be coming in after weekend to bring us new pics. Remember Dave is doing same thing. Out taking pics until after New Year.
Thanks Jo for the update on our Dear Sweet Sandra. PRAYERS PRAYERS PRAYERS can replace that hour if God so chooses. PRAYERS AS WE KNOW CAN DO ALOT !!! (:
Thank you Steven for the new thread.
It was nice you all said hi cause I have been trying to read comments each day.
Ooopss missed Sunny Hi glad you stopped by, I think Sharon was in and Jim is now. Oh Jim I thought you was enjoying the larger screen. Sorry if it isn't working out. Darn computers
Precious can't seem to move Bia was trying to push her from the rear. Now Precious is at Bia's head. Probably saying, "Mother I want to play I'm bored!!" lol
There's a herd of Wildebeest at Pete's, and they have several young calves. The whole group are sprinting around (playing?), trying to get those young legs into shape .
ATLANTA cam is on---LUN LUN is sitting in a pile of bamboo---munching away!!---The 'LITTLE BEAUTY' was asleep on a log---slid off & mosied away!!---ho!---Must start calling her 'SLEEPING BEAUTY' again!!
GOOD MORNING JIM, DANA AND SUNNY I was talking to my sister when you all came on. She is moving to a new apartment today and is is a very happy day for her. She called to let me know they were starting to move in. This is when I wished we lived closer so I could help her.
MORNIN' MOVIN'JIM & DANA!!---DANA love your "HAPPY NEW YEAR"!!!---COOL!!-----JIM---I feel for you!!---Nothing worse than getting something new & can't get it the DARN thing to work!!---You'll can handle it---You are a COMPUTER SHARPIE!!----
JIM, I have been watching your Wildebeasts frolicking and the young ones trying to feed off their moms. Now there are birds on there. The birds there have been very noisy off and on.
Mom or Dad is feeding again at Cape Coral and that eagle in Maine is just so majestic looking as she or he sits there on the branch in the snow covered nest and tree.
I sure wish I had as much time to watch cams as you guys! I did check in on Precious yesterday for a few minutes. Unfortunately, my boss doesn't share my vision of how my time should be spent.
Boy JIM, when you get that new wide screen working, you'll be able to have a bunch of pics up to watch at one time. :)
My son gave us a 37inch HDTV for Christmas and the cable guy came and hooked us up and looked soooo easy. We didn't touch anything as neigher of us is very brainy. :) When Josh comes home for Easter, he is going to hook up a surround syster for us. Then we can really feel big time! :) We aren't used to having things like this. I guess he wants to bring his parents into the future. I'd be happy with my old computer to watch the birds and talk to you guys or a good book. You people first tho. :)
Looks as if Precious gave up and both are taking panda naps now. I can't wait to see Precious try to climb. I have been missing all of that while I am at school.
OOOH SUNNY!!----Wish you could too!!----Now you will have something to look forward to in your retirement----ho!!---It's the GREATEST thing---to have all you FRIENDS & all my ANIMAL FRIENDS too!!---I am so ENJOYING the friendships!!!
Good Morning = You are a bunch of busy birds on here! Thanks for the new thread - I couldn't get a good connection on the old one. Thanks for the new one, Steve. It has really been active with the eagles & pandas. Moose cam up & running - no turkeys in sight! Well, I am about to have 5 great grandkids here for lunch - all at one time! WooHoo! Mac & Cheese Day! BBL
SUNNY---I always thought I never wanted to retire either----but there comes a time when the "old bones" want to rest!!!----KIDDIN'----Seriously lots of my "much younger" friends are retiring---say they just want too!!---SEEM TO BE HAPPY!! ho!---YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO EVEN THINK THAT WAY!!---
DANA...my avatar is suppose to twinkle also, but I can't do it either. Paula helped me with the blue Christmas tree. Candy, what is the secret to making your snow fall on the snowman?
WHAT do you want me to tell your husband??-----REMIND him of the fun you folks can have traveling!!!---SERIOUSLY!!---Friends of mine---never went any where---One trip---2nd trip---THEY WERE HOOKED?---You two are lucky!!-----I'll have to add that to my marriage list----Need: Carpenter--Computer Geek--& now I found out I need a Travel Companion!!--ho!!---I AM SUCH A NEEDY HAPPY PERSON!!---ho!---KIDDIN'----
Oh believe me - I'd like to retire tomorrow, just not sure it will ever be a financial option. My retirement fund isn't very healthy. Since I married late in life, I struggled a long time as a single person.
Norma, one day he comes home and he is retiring, next day, maybe not. The funny thing is, he tuns 60 on Jan 1st, at his firm that is mandatory retirement age, but they are making noises about him staying a few more years. I don't know what to tell him to do??
SUZANNE---This one is really high in the nest!!!-----WHOA!!---You haven't mentioned TGIF & another "4-DAY WEEKEND"---Remember---I was employed by the govt. too!!---ho!! ENJOY!!
Good morning eagle lovers. I have been away from my computer since the Tuesday before Christmas - so I am way behind on the happenings here on the blog. My Mom called me on that Tuesday to tell that one of my brothers had died in his sleep. He lived at home with her in the Maryland suburbs of DC. So, I went down there for his funeral, for Christmas and to be with her. I just got back last night. I will check in again later - but now I have to deal with the pile of mail and papers on my desk. Carol
Thanks, Mits, Happy New Year to you also, and to everyone! But Monday is a workday, this is just a Friday before a weekend. Was going to leave early today, but that didn't work out too well. Maybe I can sneak out early Monday. Snow falling off the branches in Maine. I notice Bai has blocked the door so our little squiggly Precious can't get out and about on her own. She was up half the night playing, and poor Bai is pooped! Eagle in Tesoro is sitting tall and has mouth open, he must be hot. Geesh, one pic has snow, other has eagle panting. And in the middle west of the country (sorta) we have the moose laying in the snow.
Good morning all I haven't spoken to. Had a hot project all of a sudden on other computer, and I've been taking care of that.
OH CAROL!---I am so very SORRY!!--I know how difficult that can be---for you and your family----My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family---GOD BLESS!
One thing that you have to think about, Helen, when your husband retires, he will be under foot all the time. It takes some getting used to. You have to be very compatable and patient. But you do get used to a new way of life, and you will learn to love it.
Look at Precious! She's squeezing by Bai to get out of the den. Is she gonna make it? Bet she does. One eagle in BWE took off, one still working. The NZ pandas are chowing down on that bamboo, adorable! 2 Ewwies in BWO nest. Well, no only 1 now. Precious gave up and is heading back into the den. Maybe she's gonna play king of the mountain again and climb on Bai. Oh, eagle at BWE left.
All have a great eagle/panda weekend! Time for me to hit the road. So much for leaving early, yeah, 15 minutes. Maybe I'll sneak out early Monday. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
WANDA, that will be a huge adjustment on both of our parts, he works 12 to 13 hours a day and travels close to 180 days a year, sooooo, patients will be a problem.
Carol, I'm sooo sorry to hear of your loss. My mother passed away earlier this month, and it made the holidays very hard this year. I pray that you'll find peace and comfort.
Carol I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like a pretty difficult Holiday Season for you too. I do hope for you nad many others on this BLOG that the New Year hold smiles, health and happiness.
I made a post at 10:07 with a link to pictures from Eagle Viewing here in Quad Cities yesterday Carol and anyone else who might have missed it . I have heard no more from Nilla regarding any travel plans this way but we certainly have our eagles in the area.
I may get to head up to the dam tomorrow with some friends. Last count had the eagles there at 600. That was mid Dec. So I am excited just thinking about that. It is about an hour away though.
I forgot about our new blogger, Dave. He did say he was going to be taking a lot of pictures on his camping trip. Deb is in Calif. and will probably have photos to show us. And then there is our own BOB. YAHOO!! We really have some good viewing coming our way. AREN'T WE LUCKY TO BE ON THIS BLOG?
GLO...we havn't heard from Nilla in a long time. I sent her an email, 3 or 4 days ago, and have not heard anything from her. Hope everything is OK and that she is just busy with her two grandbabies.
The ROYAL FAMILY has been at the nest since 1:20 p.m.---One will leave & then the other--both--back & forth!!------I CAN'T GET ANY THING DONE!!---Except ADMIRE THEM!!!
I have to tell you all this ... On Christmas Eve I took my Mom to the library near her house in Prince Georges County, MD. The library is located in a very busy area, with banks, fast food places and medical offices on one side of the street and a shopping center and movie theater across the street. The whole area is nothing but places of business and houses - very suburban. (I'm setting the scene for the next part of my story...) As we were leaving the library parking lot, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a bird flying in a circle, rather high in the sky. Then the sun hit it in such a way that I could see a white head and white tail!!! Even though this is a totally residential and commercial area, it is only 3 or 4 miles from the Potomac River and the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. I was thrilled and thought that maybe it was George or his new mate.
It seemed so strange to me to see the eagle in such a suburban setting because all my prior sightings have been in a rural setting. I also noticed several birds of prey sitting in trees along I-81 and I-66 on my way down there and back. I think these birds have been around, but I never noticed them before I got interested in the bald eagles at NCTC.
Hey you all, I didn't hear anyone calling my name when the eagles arrived both times! :) I got back on to see the last one fly off. :( I was taking my North Pole Village Down this afternoon. Josh has bought me so many that I now have them scattered all about the house. I just wanted to get them up. Still have our outside lights, Christmas tree lights and window candles on, but they will be gone soon enough.
MITS I'm trying to get my picture moving like it should. My glittery Happy New Year won't make the confetti move. I can't remember how I saved the snowman with the snow coming down. I figured everyone would be eating dinner now, so I started testing. :) I give up.
well, at least you can get onto the instrutions page, I've messed up my computer and it will throw up an error sign at me when I try to log on to the instruction site, but every chance I get I try to figure out what is wrong, I'll get it one day.
When you are saving a photo from somewhere, you have to make sure you save it in a gif format...
Also, you cannot load animated images directly to blogger. It won't animate them anymore. You have to establish a photobucket account, load your picture there, then put in the url from the photobucket account in your blogger profile.
If you don't have a photobucket account, they are free. If you don't want to fool with it, email me the picture, and I'll email you back instructions on how to load it on your profile. This is what I did for Wanda, and she was able to get her twinkling tree on the blog.
Chrissy Beaman, our Eaglet Momster across the Pond, has requested all of us to do a Power Prayer (prayers being said by all at the same time of day). Iris helped Chrissy by suggesting the daily time schedule for our Power Prayer and we will continue until Sandra is released from the hospital. WEST COAST 9am EAST COAST 12 Noon Across the Pond 5pm Didn't want to miss anyone's hearing about this - email did go out to all Eaglet Momsters
I guess I am the lone one on here fiddling around with my pics still. Ok Jo, we'll all start tomorrow and get Sandra out of that hospital in good shape.
Well Mits, I am giving up for tonight. Tomorrow is another day. It has me crazy as I got the snowman on with the snow coming down, but can't get anything else on that moves. Like I said, tomorrow is a new day for trying. I'll look at PAULA'S note again and keep trying. I hope you all have a peaceful and restful night. I'm going to try to drag myself out of bed tomorrow so I can see our Sweethearts in their nest in the am. Until then, all have a good night. Tomorrow brings a new day.
Bai and ZZ have just returned to the den, but they're flaked out already.
You wouldn't believe how many flying insects they grow at Pete's Pond!! Most nights there are thousands of bats in the air over the pond, and now in the early morning, there are an equal number of Swallows and Swifts.
Take a look at the Hummingbird site again. He just added a new note, and there's a funny clip that wasn't there before.
Looks like there's a kind of mystery around the immature eagles that have shown up at BWE recently ... wonder if they do seasonal work for Santa.
Blackewater Eagle cam and Osprey cam are both MT. Moose cam isn't up yet and nothing showing at Pete's Pond yet. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. LOL
GOOD MORNING BUTTERFLY MAMA! Nice to see that someone else is up this early on Saturday am. I am located at Colington Harbour, on an island west the Wright Bros. monument. Right now it says it is 64 out. I can see my flag blowing. I hope your inlaws have a nice stay too.
We used to come down in October to get away from all the people, but there are pretty much people down here all the time now. It is part of progress. :)
Hmm - progress? It used to be a nice quiet place to get away from it all. Now it's "all" there too!! LOL. It's been a while since my husband and I have been there. We were going after Christmas but his parents beat us to it.
Bear with me. It is taking about 3 minutes for this computer to refresh. We've had power and phone lines down off and on for about 2 weeks and it's not helping my dial up speed at all.
I've missed talking with all. So much going on and too busy to slow down.
Yes, we did tell him that. He is showing an interest in Raptors now. Brandon also wants to go to the nest. He will probably try to climb the tree, take an egg, and hatch it. LOL

One thing that you have to think about, Helen, when your husband retires, he will be under foot all the time. It takes some getting used to. You have to be very compatable and patient. But you do get used to a new way of life, and you will learn to love it.
SUZANNE---There's a Turkey Vulture on BWO!!!!
SUZ---I thought you had Mon. & Tue. off---The State of WV does!!------BUMMER!!---SORRY!
SUZANNE if you haven't left yet, have a save trip home.AND give all your kitties a hug from me. That is the closest I can get due to allergies.
GLO...we havn't heard from Nilla in a long time. I sent her an email, 3 or 4 days ago, and have not heard anything from her. Hope everything is OK and that she is just busy with her two grandbabies.
CAROL So sorry about your brother and at this time of year. Our prayers go out to you and your family.
Hope we get some good news about Sandra from JO today, too.
Wanda, Nilla posted under your comment about the moose cam, when Pook did the story about the moose milk.
Carol sorry to hear about your brother. (((hugs)))
Suzanne be safe. Here the State and County have off Monday and Tuesday.
Afternoon all! Finally caught up on the blog...ya'll are way too chatty :) Don't really have time to comment, but prayers for Sandy and Carol....
Lady here in the office had her baby this morning, so been busy trying to help out :)
its outsdie time for Bai and Z.
Boy ZZ really scrambles across the yard when she is outside. Bet she just loves it out there.
Paula sounds like you are rushed??
Lady didn't have baby in the office and you helped did she??
BBL.....
WAX...
Dana, that's funny, I was thinking the same thing. The way she worded it, it sounded as if she was helping out with the baby. LOL
OMGoodness do I see ZZ up on a limb. Look far left side branch. She comes into view then out of view.
LOL - no, no office delivery!
Just had to do some of her work this morning as soon as I walked in the door...
Well Precious is now in FULL VIEW and yes she is up on that limb.
Glad Paula you didn't have to do the delivey (wink)....nice you are helping out with her work.
Welcome PAULA. Glad to hear that you didn't have to deliver the baby too. That would have been quite a day to start out on. :)
Wanda - He had been feeling bad for a couple of days. The coroner's report said he died from natural causes due to prolonged use of alcohol.
DANA are you still seeing Precious? I was off for a minute and now I see a bunch of tree trunks, but no Precious.
Time for a turkey sandwich. BBIAW
EAGLE ALERT!
TWO OF THEM!
They sure are busy working at the 12 O'clock position of that nest!
I see them two, too!
Belle gone, Lib in the egg cup...
BBL
2 eagles at BWO
belle gone!---LIB STILL THERE!!
BOTH THERE NOW!!--
WHOA!!---Must be thinking about moving in???---LIBERTY is still there!!!
They are so beautiful together...
Do you think Lib looks a little messed up?
He looks OK now.
I must have hurt his feelings.:)
The ROYAL FAMILY has been at the nest since 1:20 p.m.---One will leave & then the other--both--back & forth!!------I CAN'T GET ANY THING DONE!!---Except ADMIRE THEM!!!
Visit is over!!---now I can fix lunch!!
Visit is not over, Normabyrd. Lib is sitting in his favorite spot and all you can see are his talons.
Carol - I'll bet it was George!
Thanks to all of you for the kind words and thoughts concerning my brother's passing.
Carol - how awesome! I think there's a pretty good population of eagles in that area, isn't there? Neat to think it might be George.
Carol I know they have eagles around the Patuxent Naval base....

EAGLE ALERT
OUR NEST
BOTH OF OUR EAGLES
IN OUR NEST
yep, there they are...
Belle looks so large!
Think she is pregnant? lol
she is watching Lib do nestorations
lol...it would have to be about a dozen eggs she is soooo big
wonder when we are going to see some hanky-panky?
Looks as though Belle is inspecting everything that Liberty has accomplished with the Egg Well!
poof he is gone
poof there she goes
POOF
Time for dinner! BBL
The deer are on the PA wildlife cam!
It won't work Mits.
One lone eagle back on BWO cam. I wonder if they are the same ones that are building the nest.
THANKS, anyhow, Sharon...
And gone
I don't think we really know, Candy, but we suspect that they might be at times, they do have a few eagles down there at BW
EAGLE sitting way up in Tesoro nest
never mind, she is back down again
..testing
LOL, CANDY are we being tested???? I didn't study!
MITS I'm trying to get my picture moving like it should. My glittery Happy New Year won't make the confetti move. I can't remember how I saved the snowman with the snow coming down. I figured everyone would be eating dinner now, so I started testing. :) I give up.
AND now I am back to the confetti one that won't move. :(
well, at least you can get onto the instrutions page, I've messed up my computer and it will throw up an error sign at me when I try to log on to the instruction site, but every chance I get I try to figure out what is wrong, I'll get it one day.
BB in awhile.
Well for now, I am giving up too. The snowman was just a fluke
MITS I was just going into Photobucket or Bigoo.com. Maybe tomorrow, I'll try some others.
POWER PRAYER FOR SANDRA OSBOURN'S RECOVERY FROM STROKE
Chrissy Beaman, our Eaglet Momster across the Pond, has requested all of us to do a Power Prayer (prayers being said by all at the same time of day). Iris helped Chrissy by suggesting the daily time schedule for our Power Prayer and we will continue until Sandra is released from the hospital.
WEST COAST 9am
EAST COAST 12 Noon
Across the Pond 5pm
Didn't want to miss anyone's hearing about this - email did go out to all Eaglet Momsters
CANDY, you have spunk....I like spunk:)
GOOD NIGHT CANDY...See you in the morning with a cup of COFFEE.
I feel your frustration, Candy..Good Night
think I will head into bed too, GOODNIGHT EVERYONE
Oh, what a rainy night... #*@#*%@**#@ blog would not let me in again earlier.
I guess I am next.....
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP TIGHT
Don't forget prayers for Sandra.
Good night, all. You won't see me on here early - I'm sleeping in!
Hope you get to see L&B in the morning!
Evening, everyone...
Jim
I just read the comment on "the Power Prayer" for Sandra... got it.
Great idea. Thanks.
Jim
Good Night All
Peace to you and yours
Prayers being said for all our needs
Jim-- Thanks for telling me about
OOOPS! lol
Well, GOOD NIGHT, EVERYBODY.
I hope you have a beautiful weekend followed by a glorious New Year celebration.
Jim
GOOD SATURDAY MORNING TO ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE IN EAGLELAND! I am up and ready to see our eagles this morning, although my eyes aren't too open yet. MT nest right now.
Bai and Squigs, aka ZZ and Precious, are all snubbled in at this time ZZZZZZZZZZing away. They are sooo cute snuggled together.
Blackewater Eagle cam and Osprey cam are both MT. Moose cam isn't up yet and nothing showing at Pete's Pond yet. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. LOL
guess I'll grab my coffee while I can. BB
Good Morning Candy,
How's the weather down there? My in laws are at the beach house now. Hope they have a nice stay.
GOOD MORNING LADIES....
Bear with me. It is taking about 3 minutes for this computer to refresh. We've had power and phone lines down off and on for about 2 weeks and it's not helping my dial up speed at all.
I've missed talking with all. So much going on and too busy to slow down.
Good Morning my Mother!
Sleep in this morning? Did Dust wear you out?
My refresh on here is taking forever; don't know if it is my computer or this site.
Yes, I think he did! I NEVER sleep in, but did this morning!
Where did everyone go?
Well, I'm glad to see that we have mother and daughter awake and on here now. GOOD MORNING WANDA! I have had my coffee and am about to get another.
Bai changed positions and now has Squigs up too. Both are moving or should I say that Bai has layed back down and Squigs is moving. :)
He just woke up and saw me looking for the Eagles and said "Grandmas and Grandaddy are going to take me there one day"
CANDY,it is good to have you and Karla back in the morning. It has been awhile since you both were on here early.
Sounds like we have another eagle watcher and lover. Wanda, you'll have to get him there one day.
Yes, we did tell him that. He is showing an interest in Raptors now. Brandon also wants to go to the nest. He will probably try to climb the tree, take an egg, and hatch it. LOL
