Wanda, it was a short book, only 3 CDs so I started it coming in one day, and finished it going home same day. Darn, it was a good book, just too short. Started another book going home last night, but it's only 7 CDs, so I'll finish that coming in Monday. I eat the things, 3 CDs per day!

Suz, I got an email yesterday from a Company that sells used books, movies, and audio books. They are reasonably priced. I think I am going to get some Nicholas Sparks books for my Mom. $l.99. Shipping is a little steep, but still a bargain. If you buy 45.00 worth, shipping is free.
Suz, that is why we have weekends, so we can rest our brains. LOL

Hey, Wanda, can you forward that email to me? I would definately be interested in cheaper audio books! Amazon and Borders love me, but sometimes I feel like I'm working for audio books and gas for the car! I spend a fortune on both.

It would be nice if a new pair takes over the nest in Florida. Since the older pair are using a different nest. Well some do have two homes. Which might be the case until next season.

I saw a human in Tai's enclosure a little while ago. Looks like they give him bamboo or treats to entice him in there, then close the door so he can't get out. Guess the keepers can clean his area better that way.

Yes Dana that is actually the same pair at Tesoro. I had them on yesterdays feed. They seem to be heading to the nest BOTH morning and night time. I just wonder if they know they need to build something new with more shade, healthier tree etc. and they are doing that Yet still seem to enjoy the old homestead. I saw nestorations there on Wed. LOL, good morning, Glo. Wasn't here yet, still on the road. Left the house this morning at quarter to 2, so about 2:30 I was just coming into Frederick, MD. Takes me 44-45 minutes to pass CSC on Rt 15, so I was probably pretty close to there. Got here at 3:42 this morning.

I do remember reading that some eagles have 2 nest. Maybe they will use the other for egg laying.

Our little zz precious just got a bath, mom left the den and came back with a bunch of bamboo. Which she has just now immediately taken back out of the den...along with our Squiggles. Here she comes back. Cool den, she's right in front of the cam. But now she's RIGHT in front of the cam, can't see anything. I'm guessing she brought our ZZ Bear back, but who knows....

Morning, Mits! Saw Tai in there this morning, then they closed the metal door and there was a keeper in there.
Squiggles is in the corner again. Out walking around, but she gets stuck there. Hasn't quite figured out how to move away from those walls. She will one of these days, then hope the cam operator can find her!

Suzanne, I'm also concerned about the KENT nest, thought there was a whole lot more activity there this time last year.
Constantly signing in is just SOOOOO frustrating! Believe it or not, I've had 2 whole days where I haven't had to sign in. (Shhhhhh) But that's a first!
There was, Mits. They were pretty close to our couple in nestorations, and the only nestorations you see now is more dirt from George's hole on the eagle's branches! Hate to say it, but think George and his family are going to take over that nest for this season. Maybe we can get Gary or Lorraine up there to "clean house" of the rodents!
ATLANTA cam shows the "LITTLE BEAUTY" asleep on the top layer of the log frame!!---Her little "white butt" is facing the cam----(ho) I see young children parading by to get a look at her sleeping!!!--I read she is "FULL OF IT" in the a.m. & winds down later!!---We seem to see her after she has wound down!!

the only reason these two are put together is because they were raised together over in China, and have always been together...the other zoos only put their male and females together at mating time.

Morning, Paula. Didn't even see you. Yes, I get audio books from the library. I've "read" everything out of Blue Ridge Summit library, and pretty much everything out of Grove library. I pass a library coming down here on 7, but don't pass it on the way home. I've also tried to find others who listen to audio books and maybe trade, but nobody eats them quite as fast as I do! Lucky them!

Oh, Norma, I read all the time! I listen to audio books, because I can't find a radio station that will continue to play all the way down here or back. Have to find a new station every 30-50 miles or so. No patience for that, so put a book in and hit the road. I listen to them in the car, read them at home. (Not the same books, though.)

Also on Monday, weather guys says we are supposed to have a "winter event" starting Sunday afternoon, overnight, and continuing till sometime late Monday morning or early afternoon. If we get (UGH) snow, I WILL NOT be in Monday. Our "event" will be going strong during my commute time, and I only have 1 car and 1 body, and neither of them are broken at the moment. Like to keep it that way.

Precious ZZ wants a snack but Mom doesn't think she needs it. She just turned around and walked out. ZZ is looking all around the two rooms looking for her.
Bai is just paceing back and forth and seemingly, ignoring ZZ.
Well, I heard that about it never raining in California too, Norma...
But it has been raining steadily at a light to moderate rate all day until a few minutes ago. I think the major part of the storm has moved through, but there are some trailers, and we should be getting showers this evening.
As usual, there are a lot of accidents owing to the slick surface at first rain, but generally it has been a Godsend... enough to grow some ground cover after the fires but not enough to wash away half the State into the Pacific.
ZZ Bear is walking strong like she's always been able, and she is exploring her world and chewing on everything ... especially bamboo.
Oldest hummer is looking almost adult, spending a lot of time preening and stretching wings... probably be fledging tomorrow or Sunday.

I love watching her. There is an update on ButaButa but we never seem to be able to see her playfulness due to the cam not coming on until 10am.
they are going to have snow for the polar bears at the San Diego Zoo tomorrow, so watch for it on the cam.
Wanda-I may still go to Buffalo Wild Wings and watch the game tomorrow night. I am going to Frederick to the craft fair tomorrow afternoon so it will depend on what time we get back and how tired I am. If you want to go let me know.
Poor ZZ Bear. She was climbing all over Bai trying to get supper and Bai took her paw and swatted her away and walked out. ZZ tried to climb onto the platform that is in the room and feel off it and the little fuzz ball just rolled and got up, looked around as if to say "who did that"?
Jill, it seems everybody is busy working, etc. and we can't get a Party going, so I guess I will stay home and watch the game with Gene. We will try a get-together again.
I sure hope someone else is watching ZZ Bear. This is so funny. She is still trying to climb onto the platform and keeps falling off. SPLAT! She just gets up and tries again.

RIGHT UNDER THE CAMERA at Pete's Pond is a largish Monitor Lizard hunting for dead animals or for nests with eggs. And now it is digging a goodly part of the bank out...I think it's looking for the egg chamber of either ants or termites..there seem to be quite a few in the area.
I didn't know thrir front feet were so much like the human hand, and they seem to use a lot of finesse clearing away things to get to their prey.
