Busy day at work, haven't had time to catch up, probably won't until later tonight. Leaving early today to help DIL make a Thomas the Train cake for 2 y.o. grandson's party tomorrow. Thanks for everyone for taking pics of L&B!
Thanks for the new thread, Steven. Have a great long weekend! Thanks for the heads up, Paula, and you have a great weekend too. Mits, I wasn't sure which was doing what, but I've seen one panda take the treats away from the other before. Little piggies! Tai is still on his grate, too funny in that position! Has his butt up against the stone wall, and his legs in the air sleeping on his back. And look and Mai and Tian just eating bamboo together o nicely! Our little Squiggles is still sleeping all alone, but looks like they've cleaned out the ton and a half of bamboo Bai brought in earlier. She is so funny, she really likes to throw it around!
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day.
Guess Meerkat Manor isn't on anymore till next summer, but I've seen the replacement show, it's called Orangutan Island. Haven't seen it before, but may give it a try. Or may just go to sleep watching Ghost Whisperer. Watch that wnen Meerkat Manor isn't on.
All have a great long weekend, stay safe and warm.
I am off for 4 whole days! Which would be nice, but I have dental appointments on both Monday and Tuesday. UGH. In any case, be back to work next Wednesday.
Suzanne, sometimes they play nice, and sometimes not. I didn't realize til the other night that Mei and Tian are really the only pandas in the country that are allowed to be together other than the usual mating time. Lisa Stevens the curator does this because they have been together since they were 2 and 3 years old. Also learned and, Norma you will find this interesting, at Atlanta they do not let there pandas out if temp is below 40°
Hi, eagle lovers! Dana - yes it is snowing a little on this mountain - "spitting snow" as the locals say. No accumulation here (yet) - but when I look across the valley to Spruce Knob, there is a white out. Probably, most of it is fog or low clouds. It sure looks and feels like it could give us some accumulation. Got work to do today, so not much crazy chatting from me today.
Good Friday Afternoon! Later then ever for me.. Sorry about not saying Good night last evening.. Thanks for your concern, Wanda. Great pics Suz sent around - was hoping for a PP show! Have fun with the Thomas cake! Should bring happy smiles to your grandson.
I really GOOFED today!----I missed a good-bye to SUZANNE!---I have had several phone calls in a row!!-----Please remember my friend, VIRGINIA BUCK, in your prayers---She had breast cancer a couple years ago, both breasts removed, now the cancer is back!!!---Dr. APPT. TUES.---"GINNY" has been a LURKER on our BLOG for a long time!!!---That proves she is a COOL PERSON!! ho!----
ATLANTA CAM has the cutest pic of a RED PANDA on their site---He/She is sticking her tongue out!!!---That's something MEI LAN or TAI would do----ADORABLE!!
good for the eagles in Florida....Norma both of our Red Pandas have left the zoo, one to Kansas City Zoo, one to the zoo's CRC center for breeding. I will really miss them, especially with the upcoming winter weather, their coats get redder the colder it gets.
That is Good Eagle News! Loved the comment "This is our national emblem. This is what America stands for," said refuge spokeswoman Serena Rinker. "To see [the eagle] come back the way it has is really important. It gives us hope."
MORNING PAULA---JO & CAROL!!!---CAROL---Have you ever gone deer hunting?---It's about that time--- I did once & because I was "female" I was put on the 1st watch place---nearly "FROZE MY BUTT" off!!!---I know I couldn't have shot a deer anyway!!!!
I JUST SAW A PILATED WOODPECKER in the lawn!!!---They are so COOL!!!
OH YEAH!---WANDA!!---They played the 2nd half like they played at SFL---They couldn't do anything right!!!!----1st time we have heard the fans booing the COACH in a few years!!!---(but they won)
Norma - no, I have never gone deer hunting - but I have helped clean-up quite a few and cut them up to freeze or can. I love deer meat, but don't get much anymore. My husband was an avid hunter. We always had venison in the freezer. I can honestly say that that is the ONLY thing I miss about him - the deer meat!
I should probably clarify - that my hubby is no longer around because we got divorced - not because he passed away. If he were dead - it would be rather callous to say what I said above about him! lol
CAROL----(funny)----Bet there are people in the area giving venison away----I know when my husband was alive---He brought very little of it home---No one liked it---The kids didn't want to eat BAMBI---That's true, when they were small!! Ask around--bet you can find some--
I think at the 'check in' stations is where you could leave your name for the venison. I really only care for the bologna - not a true deer meat eater.
Norma - Sometimes friends do give me some. But, it seems like most of the people I know who hunt also like to eat it. Here I go with another weird story ... Once when I was driving home, in the winter, I came upon a small yearling deer dead in the road. I stopped to drag it to the side of the road. It was still warm, so I knew it had just been killed. I hoisted it into the back of my truck and took it home. My neighbor helped me clean it up and we shared the meat. Speaking of yearling deer - have any of you seen that old movie "The Yearling" with Gregory Peck? That is one of my favorite movies. I've seen it 7 or 8 times and still cry when I see it.
I noticed that the Brisbane cam is running - maybe they are hoping to catch Dolly or her mom and/or dad on the ledge. Cams 1 & 2 at Kent are up & running. CC and ME nest MT for now. All 3 cams up on Catalina Is.....MT
Carol Let me know what you find out so I don't repeat it if it isn't true. I just remember reading that one of the check out points for the hunters had deer meat to give away!
Oh Yeah CAROL!!----I'll never forget "THE YEARLING"---& do you remember "OLD YELLER"??---My brother loved that one!!---This goes way back---You could go in the theater & see it as many times as you wanted----They kept playing the same movie & tons of short subj. over & over----
Yes Norma, I remember Old Yeller...Bought it for my Grandson in June for his B'Day. He is a BIG animal lover! Going to get him now for the weekend. BBL
Norma - "Old Yeller" was a good one too. I remember being able to stay in the theater and watching the movie several times in a row, without paying again. Also remember double features - when you could watch 2 movies several times, with cartoons in between. Of course, my Mom and my friend's Mom wanted us to come home after seeing them just once!
Butterfly Mama sure does enjoy joining our Coffee Club in the morning. She is new to bird watcing and like me, has never seen a live eagle. We will have to do something about that!
HI JO & WANDA----I have just been going from one site to another!!---I was in IWS---found the most beautiful EAGLE PHOTOGRAPHS I have ever seen----They are for sale---Few $250 & many cheaper----DON'T ASK HOW I FOUND IT?---I think I went into "DO YOU WANT TO ADOPT AN EAGLE"---They offer many EAGLE things----books, jewelry, etc.!! Time to read paper & watch news!!!
Hi again, I recently wrote my Senator about a Bill to outlaw spyware, which she co-sponsored, and as part of her response, I received this link to a "locator site."
You can search by several methods for a certain Bill and learn its present status, etc.
I found this Bill had been introduced in both Houses of Congress, but so far it has not progressed very far.
We have been having that rain too!--temp. 40°---but I was outside with rain coat on & it felt a lot colder than that----It's SOUP weather too WANDA!!!---It almost always snows during DEER season!--I think the hunters demand it & GOD allows it!!----ho!---KIDDIN'
Yes it feels a lot colder than what it is. I think the rain always makes it feel that way. I had a customer a while ago and the shop was FREEZING. It IS SOUP weather...we are having Veggie Soup for supper and a Fire in the fireplace. Grandson is 13 now, but still loves a fire in the fireplace.
GOOD SATURDAY MORNING TO ALL EAGLE MOMSTERS AND DADSTERS. I woke up early, soooooo here I am to see if I can catch Liberty and Belle visiting their nest this morning!
SD Panda's sleeping. Looks like Squiggles is on her back with her feet up in the air to me. Can't really tell. Can't wait she is such a little ball of fuzz. Can't believe how big she is getting.
Saturdays are wonderful when I can do this. Soon I'll have to start to clean house and do the washes, and then Saturdays are a little tiring. :) This weekend, I even have off for all those wonderful VETERANS and men in uniform that are serving our country throughout the world today. We haven't had Veteran's Day off in quite a few years.
There are big long leggged and long beaked birds at Pete's Pond this morning. Don't know what they are tho. Have legs like a stork, with black bodies and whitish heads and necks. Maybe they are EAGLE STORKS! jUST KIDDING.
GOOD EAGLE MORNING DANA? YES, OUR EAGLES WERE THERE AND NOW THERE IS ONLY ONE LEFT. I think Wanda thought that Belle flew off. I still can't tell them apart.
DANA I haven't seen any sticks yet this morning. One bird appeared, immediately followed by the other. Both weren't there too long when Belle flew off. Liberty has been sitting there since just looking around.
No breakfast yet. They must eat breakfast in the branches. So glad we can still watch.
Ok ladies, did either of you see any snowflakes yesterday? My sister said she saw some in New York. We finally gave up and turned the heat on last night. Not as cold here as you have yet, but was sick of sitting in the cold under blankets.
Wanda it is the angle of the cam this season harder to tell. My guess is Liberty.
Candy it snowed and rained here yesterday. I put my coat with hood on and just had to walk out in it. hee hee Love it, hate shoveling cause I can't I tried last year tore my neck and back up.
I can remember years ago when we camped in a tent camper in NY in October. We would get snow showers and sit in front of the fireplace singing Christmas carols. It was a lot more comfortable when we finally got a small trailer, tho. :)
DANA and WANDA I love the peacefulness of it falling and love to walk in it, but driving, making plans around it, or shoveling and reshoveling, is for hardy people. I had fourty some years of it before I moved south.
My most favorite rememberances of it were going to mass on Christmas Eve with it heavily falling, hearing carols and wondering if we were going to be able to make it back home after mass. It was so peaceful and quiet.
Can't till for sure yet. It looks like maybe that stick got finished being moved. That end that was in the middle of nest. Yep both gone and long thin stick moved..
During the 30 sec before it refreshes sometimes you can't tell what they are doing.
NORMA Was cheering for your Mountaineers Thursday. They sure had a close one. We play at noon today and it is supposed to be on Raycom sports. If now I'll just listen to it on the radio; rivaly between us and NC State. We finally won one last week. I'm hoping our basketball is a little better than football. All I care is that we beat DUKE in basketball. :)
Well DANA, I hope she is enjoying her coffee. Maybe she decided to get Gene some breakfast while she was at it. My husband just left to work at a yard sale at church, so THE DAY IS MINE!!!!!!!!!
FIRST!!!---GOOD MORNING EAGLES!!!! WHAT A SHOW!!!!---THANKS!
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!!---CANDY---WANDA & DANA!!!----I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I turned computer on this a.m.---& they kept returning!!---They aren't moving sticks now---Looks more like "LOGS"--ho!---It's a COOL DAMP a.m. here in WV--temp 37°!!!---What's happening with you all??---CANDY is Mon. a holiday for you?---Hope it is!!!!
DANA I can't seem to get in at Cape Coral. I bookmarked it, but when it come up, it askes me for my user name and password, and I don't see anyplace to sign up.
Good morning all. Caught the very tail end of what sounds like a very exciting morning at the nest. Hope all are heading for a great weekend. Its my neighbors birthday today. Maybe a little cake with the coffee and dog treats. She has an eagle from NCTC in her gift bag :).
Today is Marine Corp Birthday 232 yr. I always do a cake with a candle for my husband.Semper Fi
Monday is Veterans Day. I truly appreciate and thank our military people. Those that are serving now. Those that have served in the past. Helping to keep USA a free country. THANK YOU ALL !
CANDY!!---What time does your game start!!----I'll check in!!---WV won--but they played a lousy game---even the fans were booing!!----You won't have any worry when basketball starts!!!---I thought I read they are rated #1----
MEI & TIAN are "plumb tuckered out"!!!---Such a busy a.m.!!!---ho!The "LITTLE PRINCE" is-- as SUZANNE says -- "STROLLING"---The "little white butt"----ho!---LOVE EM!
GOOD SATURDAY MORNING TO YOU JO. Been watching eagles in nest at Cape Coral and Squiggles. We had a loooooooong visit from our eagles this morning. I took a few pics and went to send them on to you, and something went haywire. You only got one as I deleted the rest as I gave them to you. Soooooo I lost all the rest. Hopefully WANDA will have gotten some.
I got the one pic - very clear, Candy. Sorry you lost the others - Wanda and/or Dana may have some for the album. The Cape Coral eagles are both in the nest. Guess the BW visitor thought it was time to leave.

Hi Norma - We're still getting rain -
Not sure if we'll have a visit this evening or not from our regal couple
We have a slow, steady rain falling here; Lib & Belle are probably in the barn keeping dry!
Hi Wanda - Good sleeping weather
When does Capt Gene leave for his 10 day trip? Maybe during that time we can get together..
Butterfly Mama sure does enjoy joining our Coffee Club in the morning. She is new to bird watcing and like me, has never seen a live eagle. We will have to do something about that!
He leaves next Wednesday. Like a little boy, he can hardly wait.

GOOD SATURDAY MORNING TO ALL EAGLE MOMSTERS AND DADSTERS. I woke up early, soooooo here I am to see if I can catch Liberty and Belle visiting their nest this morning!
Kind of early yet, so I'm headed over to Pete's Pond to see what's up.
SD Panda's sleeping. Looks like Squiggles is on her back with her feet up in the air to me. Can't really tell. Can't wait she is such a little ball of fuzz. Can't believe how big she is getting.
Birds are singing away at Pete's Pond and bees or flies are a buzzing. BW nest is MT.
EAGLE AT BW!
GOOD MORNING CANDY...
I thought I was all alone. Good to have company.
EAGLE HAS LANDED!
EAGLE ALERT IN OUR NEST!
BOTH!
GOOD MORNING TO YOU TOO WANDS! It is sooo nice to see our famous couple in their nest together today. Still only one bird in BW.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PAIR THEY ARE!
WANDA I wasn't going to miss this today, as I have all the time in the world. :)
I THINK THAT WAS BELLE THAT JUST LEFT?
AREN'T SATURDAYS WONDERFUL?
Saturdays are wonderful when I can do this. Soon I'll have to start to clean house and do the washes, and then Saturdays are a little tiring. :) This weekend, I even have off for all those wonderful VETERANS and men in uniform that are serving our country throughout the world today. We haven't had Veteran's Day off in quite a few years.
There are big long leggged and long beaked birds at Pete's Pond this morning. Don't know what they are tho. Have legs like a stork, with black bodies and whitish heads and necks. Maybe they are EAGLE STORKS! jUST KIDDING.
I don't know if schools are closed here or not. They aren't closed in Winchester.
Good Mornng Wanda and Candy and Watchers.
I see from comments we have had an eagle in our nest.
bw EAGLE IS STILL PATIENTLY AWAITING THE ARRIVAL OF ANOTHER BIRD TOO. Have you ever seen two birds on that nest lately WANDA?
GOOD EAGLE MORNING DANA? YES, OUR EAGLES WERE THERE AND NOW THERE IS ONLY ONE LEFT. I think Wanda thought that Belle flew off. I still can't tell them apart.
LOVE THAT SITE.
Has either one brought or moved sticks this morning Candy?
Eagle has given up at waiting for a mate at BW and just flew off. Our eagle has been in the nest for about 20 minutes so far this morning.
Well, now it looks like Belle...
I was sure it was Lib....
Wanda and Candy have you been snapping pictures? Morning Wanda ( :
DANA I haven't seen any sticks yet this morning. One bird appeared, immediately followed by the other. Both weren't there too long when Belle flew off. Liberty has been sitting there since just looking around.

Ok ladies, did either of you see any snowflakes yesterday? My sister said she saw some in New York. We finally gave up and turned the heat on last night. Not as cold here as you have yet, but was sick of sitting in the cold under blankets.
GOOD MORNING DANA..
WOULD YOU SAY THAT IS LIB?
I AM STILL TRYING TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE.
Best Wishes and a BIG Thank You To All Of Our Military People. Happy Birthday Marine Corp 232 years
No snow here, Candy, but Karla (Butterfly Mama) had a bit at her house.
EAGLE BACK AT BW
Wanda it is the angle of the cam this season harder to tell. My guess is Liberty.
Candy it snowed and rained here yesterday. I put my coat with hood on and just had to walk out in it. hee hee Love it, hate shoveling cause I can't I tried last year tore my neck and back up.
I can remember years ago when we camped in a tent camper in NY in October. We would get snow showers and sit in front of the fireplace singing Christmas carols. It was a lot more comfortable when we finally got a small trailer, tho. :)
Liberty sure is representing the USA on Veterans Day. ( :
DANA and WANDA I love the peacefulness of it falling and love to walk in it, but driving, making plans around it, or shoveling and reshoveling, is for hardy people. I had fourty some years of it before I moved south.

Wanda snow was here yesterday "early" in the morning. Flurries really came down. This it mixed with rain. Of course, nothing layed.
Your really not that far from me.
You know the old saying.
"Rain one side of the street and no rain on the other side".
REFRESH AND GONE.
See this picture looks like Belle
It is so so hard with this angle Wanda.
DANA That was the way it was up north when I worked at a bank in town. It would be raining, bu

It would be raining in town and then when I went out and up a hill to my house, it would be snowing really hard.
WE HAVE A PAIR!
WHAT A GREAT SHOT!!
both in nest now I would say liberty in back belle in front, lib has stick in mouth
If Belle is the bigger eagle, that must be her up front, no?
Maybe we will have some more nestorations going on this morning, and we can see them for awhile.
Liberty is saying something it got Belle's attention.
The Capt. said Lib is building a roof/
Moved that big stick towards the front near us
Morning Capt. Gene
I don't know about a roof, but they sure have some larger sticks in their nest now. HELLO CAPT. EAGLE. HOPE WANDA GOT YOU YOUR COFFEE THIS MORNING.
EAGLE ALERT
Has a smaller and longer stick now. That big one wore Liberty out just alittle.
Lib is really working up a storm this Morning.
Good Morning Norma. Nice to see you. Enjoy the rebuilding of the nest.

If now I'll just listen to it on the radio; rivaly between us and NC State. We finally won one last week. I'm hoping our basketball is a little better than football. All I care is that we beat DUKE in basketball. :)
Ed watched the game also said it was close but they won. He was telling me about the guy hitting himself in the head with his own helmet.
Well DANA, I hope she is enjoying her coffee. Maybe she decided to get Gene some breakfast while she was at it. My husband just left to work at a yard sale at church, so THE DAY IS MINE!!!!!!!!!
The guy was just a little frustrated. :)
Football players are tough and a little looney.
The announcers where saying if they hadn't seen it themselves. They would not have believe it. (guy hitting himself in head with helmet)
He sure was Candy. Felt badly for him. Also means he is a good player.
gone question is will they be back

Good Morning - What a great group of Early Birds on here watching all the nest activity - looks like new logs in the nest
JO---NEW THREAD!!---RED probably didn't know to post NEW THREAD!!!
