DC Event

Got this email today. This is a public event for all folks interested in bald eagles.

"The Endangered Species Program invites you and your families to attend an event at the Jefferson Memorial on Thursday, June 28, 10 am, announcing the delisting and recovery of the bald eagle.

Secretary Kempthorne will make the announcement, followed by remarks from several key partnering organizations. From 10:30 to 12 noon, booths staffed by WO Service programs and other agencies/organizations including the National Park Service, National Wildlife Federation, Environmental Defense, American Eagle Foundation, and Earth Conservation Corps will offer family activities. In the event of rain, the event will be moved to the Yates Auditorium at Main Interior.

This remarkable achievement is the culmination of many years of hard work and cooperative efforts with private and public landowners, States, Tribes, non-government organizations, and industry. Now, it is time to celebrate."

Also, one our our Shepherdstown eagles is currently on the front page of the US Fish and Wildlife Service website. Check it out here--which one is it? In addition, download the video, which is a compilation of video shot mostly here at NCTC.

I still can't tell if there are only 2 babies. Think so, but really hard to tell.
Finland is getting fed again, Puget Sound just standing around, Kent kids are looking for leftovers.

Dana, I'm glad you're coming on the 14th! It will be nice to see you again. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone I haven't met yet!

SUZ--
I was watching BB and still see only 2 babies; but see only 2 eggs--don't know what happened to it or maybe it is out of camera view.

DANA--
Hope you can make it. I'm looking forward to meeting more of my Cyber Friends. Where is Rumsey Tavern? I live 3 miles from Shephedstown and don't know its location.

Thanks, Wanda, that's what I thought I saw, but wasn't sure. Two babies for sure, and 2 eggs, but was thinking maybe #3 hatched, but was off cam, but very hard to see. We'll get a better look when it gets lighter there.
Spirit is feeding eaglets in Kent.

Breakfast at Kent is so well disected it's hard to tell what it is. Hope it is not another of Farmer John's chickens!
Wouldn't it be wonderful if all the cams were like the Finland one? Mercy! We would never get anything done for watching them all!!

Suzanne said...

LOL, Wanda, who says we're getting anything done now? But you're right, we'd all be glued in front of our screens! That is a beautiful cam, beautiful nest...quite a bit of workmanship!

Suzanne said...

Kind of looks like another pile of feathers there now, doesn't it?

Wanda it is inside the Clairton Hotel.

Mema Jo is checking it out since other things are going on in Shepherdstown around that date.
If we can go there she'll/someone will be taking a count and making reservations. The food is so good there. The astompshere is great!

He took me for the Christmas luncheon and dropped me off. We stop by on the curve in road. Sit there in car a bit on and coming back. So it is a treat. He likes it even though he doesn't get all over hiself like I do me hee hee

NEW THREAD IS UP!

I say again the Santa Cruz cam is up but darkish again. Remember yesterday, I think it was Jo who said to go to view, tp enhancements and click on video settings. Then you can move the brightness and color thingys so you can get a better pic.

Morning, Candy! New thread, see you over there.
