Good Morning, All...Sounds like there is hope for the cam.Hope to see our pair soon...Jim
THANKS STEVEN FOR THE NEW THREAD--WOW!----GUESS WE KNOW WHO IS NO.1 TODAY #1 TODAY---JIM----Agree with you---HOPE WE SEE OUR PAIR SOON TOO---
Hi, Steven,Thanks for the fresh thread this morn. I guess you know the cam has been frozen for a couple of days. We were wondering if you people are planning to keep it up, at least for a while?Jim
Thanks for the new thread, Steve. Will the cam stay up so we can be on eagle watch too? What is that white in the nest, looks like a toy dog bone! Thanks for the heads up, Jim.Norma, brought this over from previous thread:At Monday, March 26, 2007 9:08:00 AM, Suzanne said... Norma, I head about the raccoon(s) at Shenandoah. Did the catch the little rascal yet? I think they're adorable, but they are thieves, and they love eggs!
NORFOLK'S CHICKS are alone---sleeping in UNISON--ho!---Only 1 SHENANDOAH Pic is open----No FALCON----
Suzanne..The white "thing" ... does look like a bone ... is actually the remnants of the two eggs.Paula made a video of the aftermath of Belle learning they had died, so when you get a chance take a look. It will give you a better idea of what happened.Jim
THANKS for asking about the cam JIM & SUZANNE----Have been afraid to ask----
Morning, all. Jim, you are an early bird again today!Steve, any word on when the cam will be up?
Jim, Paula posts her videos on YouTube, which I can't view here. I saw the momster email and on here, but I can't view it. Thanks for telling me what it was. Now I wish I hadn't asked! I can view Glo's videos, but didn't see one from her posted from Saturday.Little porker BW chicks are eating again. Star is on her egg, and osprey's are still doing nestorations. Busy little beavers, today!
SUZANNE---I went back & checked---I think if you click on GLO'S pic & then go to "For Love of the Eagles"----you can watch all of her videos----
Thanks, Norma! I did see those videos. Guess I misunderstood, thought there was one there from when Lib and Belle left the nest. Thought both Paula and Glo did one, but did see Glo's message!
SORRY SUZANNE---I thought she had done one too!---Should have checked--
We would like to be on eagle watch too. Can we get our cam reset?
One osprey brought in a fish almost as big as s/he is. Been eating it for the last half hour, and it's still a big fish. The other osprey is slowly sneaking up to share it.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE Hope you all have a great Monday. Glad to see the egg up in PA, and just saw Oscar up in Conn. They have really done alot to their nest in just a few short days.:)
Ho, the male has the fish, and the female was flapping trying to share it. He's now mantling, he's not gonna share... yet.
Ditto on the cam request:):):).
Was hoping to see another egg at KENT this a.m., but better one than none.
Now the cam looks solid blue, so I hope it is getting worked on.
HAVE A GREAT DAY, ALL...GOT TO HEAD FOR WORK.JIM
Just checked BUTA BUTA---atop the logs w/back to us---Read update--They are going to let her outside some time this week!!!---Can't wait to see her take off!!! ho!---
Feeding in 'VA, Osprey still eating too
Star if off her egg, showing everybody!
Well, never mind, she's back. That was a VERY quick peek!
Morning all, I am a ditto also on the cam request. Thanks Steve. donna
VA chicklets are zonked!
So much for the nap at VA, they are up and about again.
Our cam is back up!
I think it was Belle in the nest but she is gone now.
Hey, our cam is up!
I was just going to ask if anyone had seen Liberty or Belle since Sat.?Thanks Sharon.
What was she doing, Sharon?
She was just standing at about 2 o'clock looking out. The next refresh she was gone!
No, Sandy because the cam was frozen!
OOPS!! I mean thanks PAULA....sheesh! ~sorryAll weekend it was frozen....Yikes! I was out and about all weekend......not sure I would have checked anyway, but thanks for the heads up..
THANKS SHARON!----You always bring GOOD NEWS----It takes so little any more to make me HAPPY!--ho!
I give up........
Good Late Morning I am so thankful that our cam is now up - Good for you Sharon for spotting Belle even if it were just for a second or two. It is very reassuring to know they are at the sycamore tree.Norma Before ButaButa got up on the high log - she was hanging on the strap from the log to the hammock. She is almost as long in her body as the drop was-almost like she was on her toes. Will be great to see her on the outside. The cameras(even though there are 16 of them) will have a hard time keeping her in view!
JO---I am waiting to see her out run LUN LUN!!! ho!--They will have a "TUFF" time keeping up with those "little black legs"---
Give up on what, Sandy?
Actually Norma You are right ...I did put up a video link very early and first thing on Sat , actually before the new thread was posted , so it is at the tail end of the old thread. It doesn't have the last pictures of Our eagles as they too were accepting what had happened...I just couldn't watch that anymore. When the rains came and Belle started to tent Thurs night, I saved for myself the last photos I would see for this clutch of eggs, and began to say my own good-byes to this particular part of our season. The link I posted was more to begin to help us all pick up the pieces and move on from here kind of a video...It is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qGaAjD1khIThurs of last week I also did a fairly long write up on the For the Love of Eagles Thread in my own way preparing us all for what seemed to lie ahead for LIb and Belle and those who were watching and praying as well.http://fortheloveofeagles.blogspot.com/2007/03/morning-thoughts-on-march-22.htmlAt the close of that writing you will find a second link toAn Eagles Lullaby It was actually that Thurs night that I turned off the cam, my heart could not take watching anymore what my gut was telling me we were gonna see. Anyway That post is on the For The Love Of Eagles Blog for Thurs march 22nd...You can cut and paste the link above ORYou can click my name and go there to read what I wrote and follow the link to The Eagles Lullabye as well.. I did not make either of these videos but they did help me to gain or regain on Sat a beginning sense of acceptance as we watch and healing as time passes at the various nests. Hope this makes sense.Suzanne unfortunately both links do lead to You Tube videos...If anyone is having trouble following these links and would like to see them send email to me firstname.lastname@example.orgI would be happy to send them to you. They are more the smile and rest kind not hte tears kind.Once again wishing all of you a special moment watching some special Friend of Fine FeatherGlo
Norma - That would be a blast! ButaButa could even learn more tricks from Tai! I am going to see Tai (I hope) with my NY gals next week. I really am anxious to go because I will also get to meet my buddy, Mits!
SHARON---I notice you mentioned going to BRAMWELL for a concert---Have you ever toured those houses? The ones that all the millionaires lived in way back when---I would love to some time---Do they open them up for a tour in the summer---
Glo, I have watched all of it and it did help accept more peacefully what we have gone through. I just appreciate all of last season's events sooooo much. I never thought we would go through this - but it is one of life's experiences that we accept. I love Belle and Liberty & pray for their future together. I best of all love all my Eagle Buddies that I have found because of Liberty and Belle!
Star is turning her egg.
MEMA JO---I really ENVY you all---That will be great fun---Having MITS there too---Give the "Little Prince" my best---MAYBE SOME TIME!!! ho! ho!---
And I am anxious to meet my buddy, MEMA JO:):):).
SUZANNE---Have you read GLO'S message about the videos?---I hope that helps you---
Norma, they do have a tour of the millionaire's homes but not sure when. That is such a beautiful small town. The church where Jon plays the organ was built in 1890 and was fashioned after a church in Wales. It is a stone church, just beautiful!!
I am going to meet you all one day - just not quite sure when that day will be.
Better be sooner rather than later, Sharon.
Paula, I can't for the life of me keep up with who said what this morning. I keep thanking the right people and then the wrong people for info...so I'm shutting up! LOL
Time for me to hit the road. Will go home now and read the weekend blogs and cry.Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Hopefully sooner than later, Mits. Sandy, don't worry about it. We all get confused at who we are thanking! :):):)
Getting the "Service Unavailble" again. That actually started last night...
You all mean to sayThe sooner the betterSandy You should feel right at home here in our world... We have learned to read right over every kind of mistake that you could ever think of making! What's the temp down there today???? Are flowers blooming in the Carolina's?
Paula, mine didn't want to come up again but it finally did!Did Suzanne say she was going home to read the blogs? Does that mean her computer is set up?
Cam back up again....Man, feels like December again...
Sharon, She printed them out and took them home to read.....
Suzanne will now have no reason for us to push on her computer getting hooked up unless we get another clutch. COME ON BELLE & LIBERTY ONE MORE TIME
OK I am going to be in and out the rest of the day. NY gals & exercise hour are the reasons. I love the first reason more then the second one! Paula Should Dr Sharpe be placing some chicks back in those 2 nests the first part of April? I don't want to miss seeing it & especially the eagles' reactions.
Even though it is an MT NEST now, it is still a very beautiful nest because it holds so many wonderful memories!
THANKS SHARON---I have always wanted to take that tour---These houses were built by the coal barons that moved there in the late 1880's---These homes are still referred to as the millionaire homes----I bet the church is beautiful!!!
Yes, Jo, we should get to see him placing chicks back in the nest! That will be even better than taking the eggs!
It sure is a very beautiful nest and many, many beautiful memories!I missed the part where Suzanne printed the blog off!
Sharon, she didn't say it specifically today, but had mentioned it in the past!
JILL & CAROL---Re: Golden Eagle Release----I called Kieran O'Malley at the DNR this a.m.---He said the reporter had the site confused-- (said she arrived late, etc.) The Eagle was released on NEW CREEK MOUNTAIN----not dam--Located on Rt. 93 in GRANT CO.---Hope that helps you all----
DANA---Haved missed you---Was looking thru OSPREY GALLERY---I saw your beautiful picture---With the PINE SPRAY---ho!
Norma,I know about where they released the eagle. Travelled that mountain many many times. Back and forth to college. And the lake. It is a beautiful place. I bet have seen eagles up there, just didn't know it. Too young to care at the time. LOL
Hey JO....It's warm...70's and sunny today. It was in the 80's over the weekend, but that's a bit abnormal. Yep daffs, azalias, you name it, it's blooming! That's why I wasn't around this weekend. I was out working in my yard/garden!!
Dear Ones,I am praying that I will get to meet all of you. I sure would enjoy an outing like you guys had last year. We will see what we can do. For GLO, your photos, comments, and lullaby and the last days from For the love of eagles have become permanent and precious pieces of my memory that I will cherish forever. They, too, have helped the healing process begin. How can I ever thank you enough? donna
JILL---That's way life is---Seems we are always too young until it's too late---ho! ho---Please let me know if you see any EAGLES----
The guys were out at the tree today and the eagles are hanging around.
Thanks for the update Steve.
Thanks Mauley, Donna Like what Paula said as she made her video the other night...writing out my thoughts and finding and posting those links for all of you, also helped me too. We are all in this together ..we have shared the heigth and depth of the emotions surrounding our eagles now I imagine, so onward and upward we go together.
Thanks Steven. I saw Belle in the nest when the cam came up!
Absolutely onward and upward we go!! XOXOXOXWould love to hear from our friends across the pond!
It has been my observation that Buta is a little bit lazy and the only place I have seen her for a couple of weeks is on those logs flaked out! She did move over to the side just now. I love that little bear!
THANKS STEVEN---I LOVE hearing messages like that----What do you think the odds are that we may still have eaglets this season?---
SHARON---Have you got to see her climbing every where---I love watching those little black legs climb---You know what----SHE has SPUNK!!!---ho! Can't wait till she gets outside----
Norma, every time I have had the opportunity to watch lately, she has been right where she is now!
Funny you should mention the girls across the pond, Sharon. I just e-mailed Doreen with the news that they are going to use her favorite male panda Gao-Gao's(SAN DIEGO) sperm to artificially inseminate Mei-Xiang when the time is right.
Great minds, Mits, great minds!
So are they expecting to try to breed her this spring?
Yes, Paula they are, but her hormones have not reached that point yet, she is still lactating very slightly.
OP at the Osprey cam!!!
I have to say, regardless of the number of eggs or babies in a nest and regardless of the quality of the camera, no other place will move me like our nest does! The other ones are nice but as I have said before, this is where my heart lies!
I have been watching the PA falcon egg for a little while and have yet to see a parent. Do you reckon that is normal?
How many eggs is there Sharon? If there is just one, they don't start incubating I thought until there were 2 or more.
Falcon back beside the egg. Feel better now.
There is just one egg, Paula. Such beautiful birds and beautiful eggs!
Norma,If it is the spot I am thinking about, you get to the top of the mountain and on one side of the road the mountain continues a little further up but the other side is a beautiful open field leading down to some woods. Guess it is possible that they released it near the Jennings Randolph lake too. Either way it is beautiful up there.
Yea, Sharon, good website to use the realplayer on! Whew, thought it was a spider crawling around the egg, then the close up shot showed it was just a feather!
I am back from my exercising.... So many muscles I had forgotten about. Thanks Steve for telling us about the sighting - Did you see any hanky panky going on? We want to know if you do!
Both eagles in the nest at KENT
NE Eagle just did her Incubation stretch! One wing went out and her tail feathers spread and then she did it with the opposite wing. She did the egg roll and now the waddle onto her 2 eggs.
All 3 Virginia CHICKS are sitting and waiting for their turn to be fed. They are really getting larger so the feedings must pay off! Question Did the adult eagles in VA fill in the egg well now that the chicks are older?
Just like everyone else on this blog, I was very sad to hear the news about the remaining 2 eggs. I had feared that this might be the outcome for the eggs, but had kept my hopes up for them. I always worried when the nest and Belle were so covered with snow that when the snow melted, it would somehow chill the eggs. Thanks goodness for the BW, VA and other eagle cams. They will help ease the pain.
Hi Carol - there are plenty of eagles out there to watch! Steve said Lib & Belle are still around their nest!Dinner time in this home! BBL
Hi from California.Thank you all so much for all of your comments about our loss with Liberty and Belle. This is my second year of daily watching when I should have been working and I grew very close to those two. I know its part of nature but that doesnt make it any easier.Lets hope cupid visits soon with our couple.
Hello, heidigirl!! We are hoping for a second clutch but more will be revealed!!I don't think our cam is updating again!
TWO EGGS AT KENT!!
Her feathers were definitely ruffled when laying that egg! :):):)
eagle alert for our nest,
EAGLE IN OUR NEST!
WAKE UP CALL BELLE IS IN THE NEST
SHE IS BEAUTIFUL
NOW I AM CRYING I am so happy to see her.......
Belle's head is visible below cam at 6:00
TWO EAGLE ALERT IN OUR NEST!
oh man oh man both are in the nest
Now if we could just see some luvulating going on!!
THEY ARE FREE BIRDS
Belle looked right up at you, Sharon
M T NEST FOR AWHILE
How beautiful and awesome was that?
I saw that, Mema Jo. They are letting us know they are okay and life goes on!
That was GREAT! I hope that Paula or GLO got a video of the Return Home!
Can't settle down now for awhile!Sharon, I don't think anyone saw them unless they were lurking! I wish all Momsters could see them together like we just did....... I am really aHAPPY NESTERNow back to 2 eggs at Kent.... Yes, Sharon you're the only one who sent me all those emails. Eagle Eye!
NILLA May I please put that one on Momsters... I got some of the others
JILL----I thought it might be near the Jennings Randolph lake---I have been there----but am not that familiar with the area------I know there are several eagles in Grant too---Dr. Wolfe always lets me know how many he has seen when he goes home to his farm--- Pendleton County has so much scenic beauty too---Our county is becoming a housing development area as is your Berkeley County----We are attempting to fight it---People from the DC area are moving in & they pay big prices, etc.------
thanks for your nice comments and mema jo I do watch the Catalina eagles. I hope to be in Catalina next month. I have eagles both in Calif and Oregon where my son lives its just Belle and Liberty got my heart. I'm so thrilled to hear they came back to the nest tonight. Its time for me to sign off and go home for the night . I'll check in tomorrow.
Makes the "ole" heart beat faster to see them---even a glimpse is EXCITING----Feel as you do SHARON-----OUR EAGLES are the eagles----!!!
MUST FIX FOOD----LATER!
Forgot to tell everybody that I go for another CT scan of my liver Wednesday morning!
WOW! You lucky dogs you! I was out walking the dogs and missed all the action. Glad ya'll got to see them! That was so cool reading it.Heidi, Welcome! What will you be doing on Catalina next month if I may ask?
Hope it all goes well, Sharon.
SHARON----I STILL have you in my thoughts---REMEMBER how many folks will be with you in our prayers----GOD BLESS!
Thanks for the pictures on Momsters, all! They look great!
Hi all. Haven't been by in a while. Sorry to see the news. Very sad.For those interested I posted some new pix from Blackwater:http://www.pbase.com/cp8800/morebwAlso the last 14 from Pickering creek are new:http://www.pbase.com/cp8800/pickeringInteresting tidbit - at Blackwater the osprey pair I shot had the male bringing a fish to the female in the cam platform. She grabed it and they both took off because two other osprey were flying above the platform eyeing the fish.At Pickering Creek the pair each caught their own fish. The shot with the big splash is an osprey going under for a catch.Best regards,Bob
Hi Gang! and welcome Heidi. I peeked in a couple of times today, but didn't want to get too emotional at work. My co-workers just would NOT understand! I'm glad to hear Lib and Belle are sticking around, at least for now. I'm keeping an eye on the Harrisburg falcons, BW eaglets, and dare I say, a stork is back! I also check in on some of your other nests, but there are just too many for me!Keep the faith!
Bob, thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures with us! I'm going to be a nature photographer in my next life.
Hi Heidigirl! We have our hopes up for another clutch or just for Liberty & Belle to stay around the old sycamore tree so we can see them occasionally. Do you watch the Channel Islands eagle nest in CA?
Sunny - I'd like to be a nature photographer in this or the next life. Just an IT contractor for the government who is lucky enough to have proximity to these wonderful areas. You have no idea how many shots I discard to get one halfway decent one. Should be hummingbird season in a couple of weeks. That will give me something to shoot in the evenings when I get home from work.
Sunny - I don't think I can do another storch! I'm just not sure.. Is he in the nest already? Hello Bob & you are so welcome to come and visit us because you always bring the greatest pictures with you! I am off to view Bob's photos.
No storks please!! :)
Bob, we love all your shots! Thank you for sharing them with us....off to take a look!PS. We would love to see the hummingbirds, too!
Bob Great Photos once again and as always. The Osprey pics are beautifully captured--Don't see how you get them in flight. I especially liked the Osprey diving in that water after their prey. I was astounded when I first saw them do that! I thank you for including the little Downey Woodpecker - I have a few out back in the woods.
Time for me to ice a cake... BBL
Wow, Bob, great pictures. I love the turtles, snake and other birds at BW as well. And the Osprey flying with the fish at Pickering. You can see the fish's eyes! Nice Work.
Wow, guess you know spring is here when you hear thunder!
Evening, everybody,I can't see much in the nest now, but I looked briefly this afternoon. I noticed that not only had the egg shells been moved, but it looks as though the eagles have been digging extensively in the middle of the nest... Is that right?? Did anybody see anything or see the eagles doing anything?? It almost looks like they are getting another egg cup ready to me. What do you think?Jim
Jim, they were there briefly this evening and it looked as though there were messing with the nest bed. More will be revealed, I hope!! :):):)
Keep your thunder up in the Catoctin mountains, Paula.Jim, I know you will open your email shortly and then go to Momsters to see this evening's pictures of their visit. I noticed the egg well- it was very defined. I hope, I hope, I hope they still have time to fill it up again!
Norma,Tell Dr. Wolfe, Jill Long said Hi. What kind of eagles is he seeing at his farm? I wonder if it is the same farm his uncle used to have. I believe it belonged to his grandparents. If so I know exactly where it is. I would love to go there and see the birds. I will have to stop and ask his father next time I am in town. Haven't seen them for years. I know what you mean about growth. I have seen my property taxes almost quadruple since I came here. Shew. I always figured Grant County would be the first to be settled by the city people. It is ashame to see all the good land go. New Creek Mountain spans the crest from Jennings Randolph lake all the way into Mount Storm. Do you know where the lake is in Grant/Pendleton County. I have never been there. It is back on the line somewhere. They use an Upper Tract address. I want to go up there and stay sometime.
Thanks, Mema Jo and Sharon, I have indeed begun to look at some of the pics sent me today. Things are looking promising...I think I would bet a lot of money that they will try again this year.Jim
Oh, I am so glad you guys saw the eagles in the nest today:) Have had no time to watch myself, busy in Gh and unfortunately dealing with the politics of Farmer's mkts. It has been very hard fro me the past few months trying to work out the situation at my WV mkt., but the mayor of the town and his committee have decided they will run a better mkt. and are changing all the rules and hand picking the vendors and I feel I am being forced out. Tomorrow morning I will find out the fate of the mkt. at a town hall meeting, but it doesn't look good. I am now faced with the reality of losing half my income as it is my best mkt, and it is too late in the season to find another Sunday mkt. You know the saying, you can't fight city hall.
Floralgirl, we will pray that the outcome is positive. Don't you just love politics!!YW, Jim! It was so good to see them!
Hello everyone. I have been following events with a heavy heart. But your words and companionship are such a blessing; thanks to everyone who helped record the events and for the beautiful expressions of sorrow and remembrance.Like Sharon, I had a glimpse of our eagle this morning, but I wasn't sure if it was real life or a picture. I read about the events this afternoon and oh, I hope it means a new clutch in better weather. But in any case the eagles have demonstrated and modeled a beautiful response to sorrow and loss that we can all learn fromMother is in a very serious state of depression and nothing we can do seems to help. We're bringing in all the resources we can think of, but we're in a downward spiral. That's why I can't jump in very often, but please know that I am here and thinking of all of you, especially Sharon. I'll be praying for you and for your family, Sharon. There's a beautiful osprey nest on the Kent Island site, and the Long Island cam is up.
Megan, I'm so sorry about the market. If things were different, I could jump in, but I just can't take anything more on. Bill Grantham said on Saturday that they had worked out a compromise. I'm not clear about what the issues are, or where all this uproar has come from. Why are you being excluded? I do know the mayor, and he does listen to reason, but I don't know who the other players are. I can e-mail him and cityh council members, but I don't know what to say. Call me or e-mail me if I can help. 876-1276
Time to say good night all.Pleasant Eagle dreams I am going to the zoo tomorrow! Going to see Tai - the Little Prince Suzanne - Good Morning Go to Momsters albums for this week and take a look at what we saw last evening!
Sandra, we thought we had worked out a compromise, but the people in control keep changing the conditions. What it all boils down to is the mayor and his hand picked committee will decide all details of the mkt., including who gets in. The new rules may prove to be too much for me to bear. They are pushing forward to get what they want, and many will be shoved aside in the process. Tomorrow will decide it all.
Wow, that's awesome Jo. Are you getting to meet Mits tomorrow?Megan - so sorry to hear about the problems at the market. This certainly cannot be in the best interests of the town! Why do they always want to screw up something that has been working just fine, thank you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
I didn't realize that Sandra, Megan and Jim were on. I can say good night again after I say Hello.Sandra I am praying for you to find strength - I am sorry to hear your mom isn't doing well.Could she ever sit out on the porch to get some sunshine? I know - I am groping for anything. Megan I pray you will be included in the market - Is all of Shepherdstown aware of any changes. The minute you get the word, no matter what it is, please let us know. Like Sandra said - we will all get behind you and email the mayor!!!! Fifty emails should do it!
Yes, Paula, I finally get to meet Mits and I will stay by the Pandas till I see the little prince.
Sandra, Keep trying! I know you have your hands full, but something just might light the spark again in your Mother. Thinking of you.
Now Again Good Night All
Good morning, eagle world. Glanced at email at I opened it, thank you Paula! I did get to see what you posted, very sad, and I'm sure hard for you, but thank you for posting that. And did I see photos of our Liberty and Belle at the nest last night? Man, I'm so excited about that!!! Thank you, Iris!!! And Jo, saw your note, will go to Momsters shortly to view pics. Oh I hope and pray we get at least 1 little miracle baby this year!!!Phew... be still my heart! Ok, ride down was good, rained in my neck of the woods, but roads dry here. Think it was 60° when I parked, so a decent day. That's all for now, have to go read blogs, and check out pics. Oh, well, ok, BW parent is using one of the chicks as a pillow, too cute. Osprey nest MT, but Lisa has updated the web page. I sent her those pics yesterday of the female asking her what in the world kind of position was that, and she answered. Too cool, female molding the nest bed to her size. Learn something new every single day on here, how cool is that. Our nest is MT, but maybe only for a few days. Seeing as how it's still the middle of the night, can't see PA falcon, and of course Kent. Ok, on a mission, have things to do RIGHT NOW.Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Just looked at all the pics on Momsters from this week. Dare we hope??? It's wonderful to see them both back at the nest!!!
BW parent is awake and looking around. Well, before I finished typing that, head went back under wing. But at least she's not using one of the chicks as a pilloww anymore. They're sorta using each other as pillows, too cute!
Breakfast for the BW chicks, and both ospreys just arrived together in the nest. Still dark, so can't see much in PA.
BW parent went fishing, breakfast was leftovers, and not nearly enough! Both ospreys standing looking pretty with glowing eyes.
Breakfast is being served by both parents. One osprey was flapping his wings, don't think they were mating, though. Other osprey is still standing there guarding nest. Oh, one BW parent just left. Falcon egg in PA is all by it's lonesome, mom is on bar right outside nest box. Our nest no visitors yet.
BW chicks are sleepiing off their breakfast, our one-legged faker is standing guard at the osprey nest, no visitors yet at our place, PA mom visited her falcon egg for a very short visit, and still dark every place else I can watch.
Ah, the little toot just turned around and is standing on both her little legs. She sure is pretty!
EAGLE AT OUR NEST
never mine just flew off but I got some pics.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!! Sorry, didn't read blog just posted when I saw our eagle, if anyone else was reporting it, didn't meant to repeat...going to read blog now.
Morning, Mits! I missed it, had to step outside for a sec. Darn! Bad timing on my part, but I'm glad you got pics!BW chicks are having mid-morning snack, both parents brought something in. One osprey hanging out in our nest. Poor lonesome falcon egg all along again.Oh, one chick just pecked the other chick and parent left, didn't get involved. Now they're snuggling, go figure!
Now it looks like they're gonna pick on the corncob. One was flapping his little wings, too cute.
MEGAN I wonder where these dishonest, unscrupulous people came from, probably transplants from DC..:)
Morning, Megan. Sorry, I didn't see you arrive! I'll go to that site and see if I can't write an email supporting you and others... in other words, keep the market as it was/is. Would that help? (Gotta tell you, I've never been there, but they don't know that!)
PA falcon sitting with her egg, love these birds.
No problem with sending email, Megan Don't think I will tell them how lousy a job they are doing --but instead will promote the market I have been to as being superb! Also promote the vendors that are there especially the FLORALGIRL!
Good Morning AllNot able to stay - my ride to the ZOO is leaving in an hour.I'll be back late late afternoon or early early evening! TTUL
Oh, Jo, have a blast at the zoo! Tell Tai hi for all of us.
Letter to Mayor Dom is on its way, even as we speak.
Megan, I just read the minutes from the last meeting....good luck today.
Good Morning all...here's hoping for a beautiful day for all , made even better bu lots of sightings of "You Know Who".
Feeding time in VA, little one is front and center.
Yes, Sandra, praying for better times for you and your family.
New thread with some wonderful news from both Steve's :)
