Thanks for the new thread and the pics from Jo.
Good thing, I have dinner in crock-pot, not going to get much else done today with the cam up:):).
:) :) :) :) :)Woohoo, something good to watch during lunch.
Ok, Lib, move your butt. What's under there?
C'mon Lib, stand up
Glad you are here, Paula:):).
Maybe Belle is out getting some carry out.
Looks like some fish to the right of him.
LOL man its like we've all gone bi-polar this cam season...look how the mood has changed..what time is dinner Mits gonna be kind of busy sitting right here myself LOL.
Thank you for your hard work, John, Mark, Steve and crew
I started the Momster Album for this week. If you look at the pics in Momster you will realize that JO is aka Sharon, Dana, Jill, Paula, Mits and many others who contribute pics! Jo is just a middle person who shares with those who need to know the wonders of OUR eagles!Steve, a sincere thank you to you and John & Mike. Oh how I pray the cam doesn't give you guys anymore problems this season! John, how about a 5 sec refresh since the live cam is still up in the air?
I put corned beef and cabbage in the crock-pot, Glo, didn't get a chance to do it Saturday...dinner around 7:30p.m. So hop a flight if you want.
Just got home from visiting Mommy. I walked in the door and what to my wondering eyes would appear -- but our CAM IS UP!!! Yeah!
I'll be eating leftovers or TV dinners!
I have a feeling that I may not get to exercises this afternoon........But then I know you all will comment and take good pics. Move it over a little, Lib!
Steven, make sure you keep John around, he has the magic touch!
Paula, just hop on down 270:).
Glad you ar back, Sharon, How is Mommy?
Glad to see the snow is almost gone
IDK, maybe I will have some fish in celebration of the cam being back up!
The suspense is killing me!
You could hear a pin drop in here!
Mommy is sleeping a lot. The doctor hasn't come in yet but her BNP is elevated which could mean congestive heart failure. No report on chest x-ray yet this morning.
Can you believe he might not move until 4:00...... He wouldn't do that to us - would he? Let's all concentrate Move Lib Move Lib Move it on over!
Sharon, NOT LOL about your Mom. About your other comment. Hope your Mom improves! Did you ever get the dog in there to visit?
Glo Your comment about us being bi-polar is sooooooo fitting!lol
I don't think any of us are moving:):).
Lib really needs to move his behind.Thank you so much for getting the cam working again!!! *big hugs to all involved* =) =)
STEVE DO NOT I REPEAT... DO NOT LET JOHN GO HOME YET!
NOOOOO CAM STOP IT.
Wow, look what I missed! I have my mouse magnifier ready to go!
That was an almost moved his butt....
Fiddle with you Lib COME ON HOME BELLE
From the way Lib is looking around we might have a switch soon. And from the way he keeps looking inside the nest, I'd say at least 1 eaglet in there.. now if only we could get verification.Move Lib move!!!
Whatever is under there is not cold!
Poor Belle is probably soaking in a hot tub somewhere with some Calgon!!
Yup, keeping a real vigilant watch out.
He has been snacking on stuff by his beak.
LOL, Sunny, she certainly deserves it, doesn't she!
OK I say at least 2 eaglets are in there if not all 3.
Yes, Mits. I am hoping he can't reach it and has to get up to get itlol
NOW the suspense is killing me!
I'm thinking all 3:):).
I'll go for 2 eaglets, 1 egg.
On the polls:All voted that the first 2 eggs would be hatched by now.The 3rd egg to hatch has a lot of votes for today; however, there are votes cast for later dates this week.
Man, I have not had to be this strong for a long time.I am putting on my gym shoes with tears in my eyes and heading out the door to exercise. My heart is just not in it but my body is saying You Better Go! Keep the eagle eyes open!
Okay this is really killing me because I am on dial up, one of our lines is messed up so I can't keep this stupid computer up for long. ARGHHHHHHH will check back a little later.
OMG! Two eggs! And do I see an eaglet?
Didn't leave yet - 2 eggs...
I didn't see an eaglet but it could have been under the grass!
I saw 2 eggs and no eaglet.
I wasn't sure what I saw, and was waiting for the refresh, with my magnifier on, but the parent came back too quick!
I see 2 eggs, and no chick:(.
well I know I saw 2 eggs thats all I know
Just before I left, I saw two eggs and something near the top of the nest that may have been an eaglet. Wouldn't swear to it but couldn't have been. Had to come back to see what all of you saw. Guess we mostly saw the same thing. Will check back later.
SHARON WHICH ADDRESS ARE WE USING FOR YOU TODAY???
OK when I blow it up I don't want to get anyones hopes up or down but there mayb be an eaglet about 7 o'clock holding its neck up actually pretty good. It owuld be in its 3rd day by now I hope I'm right that would be such good news. I feel very confident those 2 eggs are fine though and mom and Dad are very diligent parents and have maintianed excellent care of each other and the nest.
Well, Mits, it looks like frontier might be working okay today so lets try that.
3rd egg was laid 35 days ago today, Feb 12th.
No matter which way I look at it, I only see 2 eggs.
Okie -dokie, Sharon.
well, Glo, I hope you're right. What I saw was more at 12-1:00, but was probably too big and too far from the eggs to be a 3-day-old eaglet. I was waiting to see if it moved, but didn't get a second chance.
LIVE FEED IS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Paula i am with you on this call i only see 2 eggs in full view.. I took apicture n zoomed in but only saw 2 eggs... MTBR i suppose... Beautiful weather here in MARTINSBURG.. compared to what we had last week... Off to work i go 39 days til Florida vacation!!!!!! softfeather
Thank you Mits. I had given up on that. Didn't even check it today. Steve, I hope you are taking John and Mike out for drinks and dinner!
As if we don't have enough stress in our lives!
THANK YOU MITS. I CHECKED ABOUT 10 MINUTES AGO!!!!!
THANKS TO WHOEVER GOT THE LIVE FEED UP FOR US!! FOREVER GRATEFUL!
Doing the waddle.
some of you have mail, don't have all the email addresses but dud sed picture of what I saw
That was only an egg roll, not even a thought of a chick, to me. I think if we had an eaglet, we don't any more. There was an awful lot of snow in that nest that Belle was trying to clear out.
Yep, Paula, they don't waddle, usually, when a chick is there.
Guess all we know for sure is that there are 2 eggs in the nest now, and the fate of the other is unknown, but the weather there was really bad.
and now the camera is stuck again.......
Cam is OK, Sunny.
okay, I got it back, and also pulled up the life feed.
LIVE FEED GONE AGAIN!
Mine is gone, too. Still cam is up. :)
Yes, still cam is up and for that I am REALLY GRATEFUL!
OK, so it looks like we are waiting on eggs to hatch.
Where has Dana been?
We were really surprised that the live feed came on. We have big obstacles with the Department of the Interior computer folks about our live feed. We are trying to solve them but it is extremely frustrating. Our take on the eggs is that we probably have lost the first chick. Keep in mind that statistically, having three eaglets two years in a row is pretty rare. Add in the nasty weather and nature can be very cruel.
Yes, Steven, I think Mother Nature spared us (cam watchers). The cam being down may have been a blessing in disguise.
Paula, I was thinking the same thing. That was an awfully big snow on the very day it hatched. I would rather it happen now than later. It is what it is, right Mits! I just pray the other 2 eggs are okay.
We are watching Mother Nature, in all her glory and cruelty.
Yep, Sharon that is correct and God knows what He is doing. This is sad ,but not a tragedy. Too many things in this world quailify for that description, and all of us have gone thru some type or other in our lives.
Just rolled the eggs.
Yep, you are right, Paula.
Live feed is back.
Awww.. Poor Belle. She did everything she possibly could to keep those eggs and the eaglet warm. I am glad that the cam was down for that though. Definitely a blessing in disguise. I hope that the other two eggs are unscathed from that rather brutal snow storm.
Feeding time at VA
:-( sometines mother nature is so hard to understand....
quick change of position and check, and back down on the eggs facing noon
Finishing the final morsels of food to the right in our nest, getting comfy.
Belle just flew in!!
And my live feed went down just after she arrived.
She brought herself something to eat.
No doubt there are just 2 eggs left with these pics.
Clear as day
yep, but she's not sitting on the eggs....pretty clearly only 2 though.... :-(
I have to go out for a few minutes. Keep an eagle eye out!
Hey Paula, Mits!!
Live feed was up just long enough for me to see Belle fly in, and Lib get off the nest. Clearly two eggs. :(
You can almost see the snow melting! Good, get outta here! Spring is Wednesday. NO MORE SNOW!
Hey, Sandy....how's it going?
there ya go Belle...take care of those 2...poor thing.I wonder is eagles grieve....doing ok...home with a nasty cold from playing the the mountains of western NC this weekend..but it was fun.
ok...how do I get a picture beside my name????
LOL...I always have Sharon, put my pics on Sandy, but Paula can direct you where to go on the momster site.
I am trying to find which thread is being used...... I'll be back if this is the current one
Left messages at both the other threads to come to this one for comments: this is the 10:14am thread
This is the thread, Jo.
lol....glad you found your way back to us.
snow just about gone in nest.
Hey Sandy, it is a process but doable. I think the instructions are on the eaglet momsters. I can help if you want!
I'm so sorry to hear that the loss of #1 has been confirmed. But I'm glad it was now, before we all became attached to the little fuzzball. :-(
I'm heartbroken about the loss of the first eaglet. I hope the remaining 2 eggs are OK. Over at the Norfolk eagle site - an adult just brought dinner in to the nest. The one on the eaglets got up and the first adult is tearing off pieces of food and passing it to the adult who was in the nest and that one is feeding it to the eaglets. It's so neat to watch. So far I've only seen 2 eaglet heads waiting for the food. I hope #3 is OK!
Going to Beverly's (sister) to take her a birthday cake. I will be back in a little while. She is old - 48 years!! :):):)
Shame on you, Sharon for telling everyone your sister's age - lol
Hi Carol - I think all 3 are ok in VA
Watch it Farley....48 is not old...some of us are a tad older than that....lol!
Going to my table to eat dinnerBBILW
Looks as though Belle is having dinner also. Good view of our 2 eggs in the egg well.
what is she going after, her head keeps going side to side.
now she is looking backwards.
maybe Lib is flying by.
feeding time at BW.
feeding time at VA, the little one is trying hard to get food, usually succesful when the two older ones are pecking at each other.
Good job VA mom, she is feeding the little one, in spite of the protests of the other two.
might be raining at the nest, she is tenting.
Must be raining in Shepherdstown, eagle is tenting.
NOt tenting any more, tucking grasses in.
Gotta go get some dinner and walk the dogs.
eagle at KENT branch.
Well, I had dinner, but no walk tonight - raining and a cold 44° - Dogs will have to wait till tom night!Belle looks tucked in for awhile.
BOTH EAGLES AT KENT.
That was a fast visit, one still on branch.
I love how the Kent eagles sit up on that limb and there is a camera there for us to see. The three views are wonderful.
How is everyone this evening?
And whichever one is sitting there on the branch is doing alot of calling out. How are you doing my eagle-buddy, Sharon?
My mother's poor dog is walking around again just whining. She is pitiful when Mommy is not here. Didn't hear a thing out of her after Mommy got home.
I am doing good, Mits, and you?
Hello you 2 eagle buddies.I am so glad to NOT see snow in OURnest. We very well should be looking fora hatching at least by tomorrow. It's hard getting too excited when we know we lost one..... I hope thatOUR 2 eggs are fertile!
Doing good, How long do you think Mommy is going to be in the hospital?
I put your pictures on the Momster site - thank you very much you two for taking them. Hopefully tomorrow we will see a cracked egg.
Mommy will get to come home tomorrow or Wednesday. She has a touch of congestive heart failure if I haven't already told you all that.
Well, that can be taken care of thru the right medicine, thanks Jo.......Yep. really sad news, but hopeful for the remaining eggs.
Yes, it sure can. I too remain hopeful for the remaining 2 babies!
Kent eagles are out and about again.
one is back at KENT.
The KENT couple are back!!!
little buggers, both are back.
Get that pic Sharon - both on the tree...........
I too am saddened by today's developments...it certainly was not what anyone expected when the cam came back up. But nature is unpredictable. Personally, I would rather have it this way than what we could have seen.Belle is tenting big time now.
She sure is tenting big time, Paula. We are starting to get some more showers now. It had stopped. I guess it will be off and on.
Hello, everyone. Just stepped out the back door, no rain, warm. Don't know why eagle is tenting. My daughter-in-law and I went out for a Thelma and Louise expedition today to Charles Town, then came back and drove out to the nest, but could see nothing. Sorry. So sad about the lost baby. Fingers crossed for the others. Haven't had time to check the other cams today, hope pandas are ok.
Hi Sandra, Everything else eagles, falcons and pandas seem to be ok. Haven't been able to get the NE nest up for a couple of days.So glad to hear you had a free fun evening! You so deserved it!
I am going to call it a day and hope to see a hatching tomorrow.........Good Night EveryonePleasant dreams and Peaceful sleepPrayers being said for allGood Morning Suzanne
Right behind you again, Jo. GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
Belle is not tenting anymore and appears to be snoozing....calling it a night here too, with hopes of an eaglet tomorrow!
Dark at Kent and you can still see the eagle on the branch. That is so cool.
Good night and sweet eagle dreams, my friends of fine feathers and fur. Have a wonderful peaceful night!
Good morning, eagle world. Wow, cam is up! How cool is that!!! Going to be a beautiful day! Not so bad out, 44° at my house, 56 here at work! Not raining or snowing, so maybe our parents will have a good day!John NCTC thank you for your comments yesterday. We really do appreciate everything you guys do, it's just so frustrating to have the cam one day and then have it go down for several. We missed the first 2 eggs being laid, and I thought we'd miss the hatchlings too. I love these eagles, and hate not being able to watch them. I'm sure it's just as frustrating for you folks, particularily when you seem to get one thing fixed, and then something else goes down. I too work for the gov't, and am well aware of the computer security issues we all have to go through each and every day. Sometimes it can be frustrating to get anything done with all the security. I guess it's more frustrating for me because it seems the cam worked better last year. Is there anything we, as a group, can do to help you and NCTC with some of the security and/or part issues? Write letters to DOI? Congressmen? Anything? Please let us know by posting in the blog. And I do appreciate the update, it's terrible when we don't know what's going on! So thanks again for telling us what's going on.Won't have time to read blogs, so I'll have to wing it today. All have a great eagle day.Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Oh, before I forget, Happy Spring tonight to all! FINALLY!! 8:07 spring officially starts, can't wait.
Belle's turning 2 clear eggs. Guess we still only have 1 chick. Hopefully, we'll get to see the others hatch!
Lord BW just brought a fish for breakfast.
Awwwwwww, chicks are sitting up waiting to be fed, how cute!
Chicks are getting fed, Belle is awake, and 2 ospreys just arrived.
Live feed is up !!!!
BW parent just left, chicks getting pin or blood feathers. You can see them in the sun. Morning, Camsgrammy!
Thanks for the heads up on the live cam. :) LOL as if I needed another distraction from homework this morning.
Thanks so much for letting us know about the live feed. Suzanne, we believe the hatched eaglet didn't make it through the snow storm. We saw no sign of it yesterday.
Thanks, Sharon, Mits told me this morning. That's a shame! I was so sorry to hear that.
Lib's on the nest now. Belle just flew off. No signs of cracks in the shells yet. They've been doing nestorations to the egg cup itself, maybe trying to increase the insulation.
GOOD A.M. EAGLE BUDDIES---What a beautiful sight!!---Our EAGLE is v MOVING----Checked emails yesterday evening---read JO'S sad message----SO VERY SORRY----But now I am enjoying watching LIBERTY as much as he seems to be enjoying cleaning up the nest around him---ho!--THANKS TO NCTC---You FOLKS are the GREATEST!!!---LOVE YOU!
How's the weather in BLUEFIELD SHARON?----48° & snow has melted here----VERY HAPPY your Mommy is coming home Wed.---Will keep her in my thoughts----Bet she will really "perk" up when she sees her dog----Love to you all---
Awwwww....Chubs and Tiny are actually awake and interacting over at BW, and there are no parents. Usually all they do is sleep and eat!
Good Morning, Eagleland. Hope we have some good news today!
Good to see the NE cam back up too.
Dawn in Kent, one in tree, one in nest.
And whomever decided to bless us with the live feed this morning.... Thank you Egg roll our nest
You can still see a slight size difference in the BW chicks...they look so cute w/ their feathers coming in.
Look at the crop on the biggest! He is stuffed!
Those BW eaglets have some seriously big feet to grow into!I'm at work today, and the boss is right next door. I hope to pop in and out, so take good notes if anything happens!
Me too....can't play. Take notes please..
Good Morning everyoneGreat to see Liberty checking out his eggs. Thanks Paula for the Spring Alert! Hopefully one of our little chicks will spring out of that shell today.
Egg roll, again
That was a Suz spring alert!I'll be happy to announce it again tho. Spring arrives at 8:07pm tonight!
NOW WE KNOW!!!---2 EGGS---ALSO both seem to be interested in fixin' the nest----
Belle has arived and brought her own breakfast and some grass
I was checking out the Falcon cam down in VA- this is the pair that lost their 1st egg (could even have rolled off the ledge) Yesterday Mits and others including myself saw that they had returned and the 2nd egg was there. This morning I can't see that egg so I emailed and will let you all know whether I am blind as a bat or if the egg has rolled again!Mits won't be on until evening hour today- she usually does this correspondence work for us...
Lib took off to the right rear, 2 eggs in view
Thank you Paula! lolI guess I read through the blog too fast this morning.Anybody see any cracks yet?
She is done eating and is back on the eggs
Nope, not yet, Jo.
