I guess some days it pays to sign it late in order to be first. Thanks Steve - I'll go get some more action over here.
I was so excited receiving the email from Suzanne about BW chick she spoted! YAHOO!I think the season despite the snow, sleet and rain is OFF TO A EXCELLENT START this First Day Of March.
quick visit by dad at BW
both eagles Maine
Another quick visit at ME.
Thanks for the new thread, Steve. Hope you are feeling better! Thanks for the heads up, Jo. Have to go to other thread, posted a note to Glo, and still need an answer.
Ok, brought over from other thread.LOL, thanks Dana.Glo, are you still here? If I send you pics I took this morning, when I think the chick hatched, can you do a video of it?
Thanks for the call to come over Jo Really didn't know if I wanted to leave old thread lol so much wonderful happenings.Again I contragulate Suzanne for the capture of that great picture of the hatched chick at BW.Hi Jo, Mits, Suzanne (when you get here), Sharon and Glo that was on other thread. Morning to everyone coming in.
Eagle in Kent, cam 2.
I beat you, Dana. Even brought over my comment from the other thread, for you and Glo.
GOOD A.M.EAGLE BUDDIES---MEMA JO & MITS---You all watching for "little eagles"-----Beautiful SUNNY day here so far----SUZANNE always brightens the day!---STEVEN is back too!!---GREAT NEWS---REALLY MISSED YOU!!---Going to read yesterday's blog---
ROFLMBO Suzanne we posted same time but yep you got there 1st. What you want another contragulations hee hee
LOL, thanks, but I'll pass on the congrats, Dana! Just glad I wasn't typing away just to find out after I posted that there was a new thread. That's what I usually do! This time I saw Jo's note in BOLD after a short posting. New BW mom has settled down a bit, just sorta looking around. Now I'm waiting for Lord BW to bring her something to eat!Kent MT.
Morning Norma, our still cam plus the Live Feed is up for our cam.
Oh, snowing again in Kent!
Yes Suzanne actually I am back. I am saving picks from Blackhawk. I have the first pic that we sort of all 3 saw together this morning with the first sign of fuzz or ? baby on it , but then of course it was coffee time. If you would like to send that and others you have taken while I was doing coffee and dog treats LOL I always appreciate and love to have them.I will definitely have BW featured on the FTLOE (For the love of eagles BLOG tonight) well unless I( lose power againtoday for who knows how long. More terrible weather headed my way.
KENT - Cam 3 still isn't updatingI noticed that late yesterday - I guess we can live with only 2 cams to watch... lolSuzanne - Now that things have calmed down abit - I didn't see your 1st post...How's your mouth?????
GLO I hope you are laughing with me after you read your last post-- It does get pretty darn exciting on here when eggs are laid and chicks are hatched. We need a Bloopers page on whichall of us would have at least one entry if not two or three.
If Norfolk doesn't soon get their cam operating - we are going to be too late to see any chicks hatch. They'll probably have a full nest of chicks once the cam is back up.I love the video of the NE egg being laid. Like I said, Never saw such a happy couple..
YOU FOLKS certainly have had an EXCITING DAY yesterday---I guess I'll never get caught up---ANIMAL PLANET---had a show----about penguins---they did the same thing---would remove the egg--leave wooden egg--took the eggs to an incubator to hatch----then slowly moved them back in the nest----But these are on MT. TOPS---Very exciting---I read (think it was SHARPE'S) story about how he approached the eaglets to band them---Unbelievable!!
Thank you Dana for the heads up on the live feed I tried it a few minutes ago and it wasn't working. Is mom still in Maine?Awesome Blackwater chick!
Jo I'm still riding the "short bus" lol
Very sore, MemaJo! Unfortunately, it was a necessary procedure, but glad it's over!Glo, think the way they were fussing this morning about 5:30ish is when the chick hatched. I took pics almost every refresh. Then of course the new chick.
SUZANNE---Same STORY---The "EARLY BIRD" gets the picture---CONGRATS!--Thought of you at dentist!--
I just looked BW lady laid the 1st egg on Jan 31 hatched March 1 not as long incubation time. wow
Jo, just e-mailed VA again.
Eagle at Maine is eating
Thanks for thinking of me, Norma! I did my pinching!!! Shots are the hardest part. But then comes healing...ugh. Last appt for a while (at least I HOPE it's the last) is Monday, after work. Then hopefully, I'll be good to go for a while!!!Glo, you have mail.
OK Jo Are you insinuating I don't know where I am or what I'm doing. GREAT LOL...I wouldn't have gone back and even noticed except for your little heads up...shall I delete now...probably will don't want folks trying to find that Blackhawk baby LOL. But Blackhawk State Park is like 2 miles form here, I always have to shuffle that by my brain to get to Blackwater. I too so wish Norfolk would be back on; must be a serious problem as they have always been up and running so very quickly....I love the job they have been doing over there. Come on Norfolk fix that cam.Suzanne Yes yes if you have pictures starting that early please please send them Thank You Thank You.ALso I too thought lots about you and your dental procedure, been too busy with eagles to say so. Welcome back...you were missed....Hope you get to feeling top shape again very quickly (((((Suzanne)))))
Gals I'll bbl need to lie downSuzanne if I miss you going home. Thanks for all the fun this morning gal. Sending me the wonderful capture of a just hatched chick. That pic is in my memory bank of pics that just comes up now and again. ty ((hugs))
Ok Thanks Suzanne I'll go check my mail now :)
Thanks, Mits. They need to get 'r dun with that wonderful cam of theirs. We have had 2 days straight ofexcitement! Don't know how much more I can take.. lolNORMA ButaButa is up on top of the logs again! I guess she knows that momma will help her down! lol
Jo you have mail.....Sharon you have mail also.
GLO Don't you dare take time to delete... Probably no one even knew what we were talking about. I thought instead of flying like an Eagle that you now were going up in the Blackhawk chopper! lol I hate to leave but I have a morning appointment. I am certain I will have detailed remarks of the happenings while I am gone. Be back early afternoon.
Just got a quick response from VA, hopefully CAM at NORFOLK SHOULD BE BACK TOMORROW.
THANKS MITS----I haven't seen the EAGLES there for about a week--
Feeding at CC.
Hope you enjoyed the live feed, cause it's down again....
Thanks for the thoughts, Glo. Gig you get the pics, Glo? And Dana, talk to you tomorrow! Jo, talk to you tomorrow, too. Morning, Mits, thanks for the VA update. Morning, Paula, and anyone else I haven't spoken to.

Still cam is acting crappy also.

well Suzanne I have decided we have all gotten pretty good at computereze...now we will be learning eagleeze cause definitely don't think or type any better at all when that eagle stuff starts to happen LOL.
LOOK AT BW NOW!!!
Hello dear friends, I have been battling migraines a few days now. But I am thrilled with Suzanne pics today of new chick. Also got to see my Ewiees at the osprey nest. Are mits and I the only two who like Ewwwiiess? BBL donna
Oh man, did you guys see that?
Ok, just sent yet another pic around. Good pic of proud poppa showing us his newborn. Baby has his wings out, and they're pushing the MT shell out of the way. Now I'm waiting for first meal. I know they still have nourishment from the egg sack, but does anybody remember how long that lasts? Think Mom will bring him something to eat later this afternoon or tonight? Take pics!!!
I think so, Donna. Migraines are the worst:(:(:(.
Mauley, they're not so bad. Just ugly, that's all. But I guess they do good, cause I think this world would really smell bad without them and other scavengers!
I just got that pic snapped also Suzanne. Thought you had left. That was a good shot. We probably got the same pic.I had been seeing something white sticking out. Was wondering what it was; it is the empty egg shell.
Mauley do you have any Gatorade???? It helps truly
yes, Dana, you can see it quite well, now. OH both home now!!!
Ah, guess Mom answered my question! They'res the first meal for the little tyke! A fish.
First BW feeding
Mom is feeding chick
Ah, he's moving!
Didn't see the chick actually get fed yet.
Chick hasn't been fed yet, but think Mom is saving half of it for first feeding later. Probably later this afternoon. Take pics, guys.
Time for me to hit the road. All take pics and send them to me. All have a great eagle day watching our new baby and proud parents.Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Oh look, Dad brought in some new grass!!!
Well, that was Mom that brought in the new grass, cause Dad's still on the chick and egg. She put the new grass over the fish. Guess that's helping to save it for later. Hee hee, too funny. I really am outta here now, I'm so late!!!
Baby chick was shown off to us alot. Neat !! ( :Take care Suzanne see you tomorrow
Thanks I am out for a gatorade right now. BBL I have to teach a night class tonight. Thanks I will try anyghing once. Donna
Ok Mauley hope you get to feeling better.
Chick is visible at BW!!
IMPORTANT UPDAT FROM LISA ON BW PAGE RE: CHICKS EATING!
MOM is back at BW.
Have to leave for a while.Take pics and notes you know I'll read them ty.
BOTH EAGLES AT SC..
PAULA any news out of SC yet??????
No new news, Mits. Although we were talking they probably laid their egg around Mar 8th last year. May not see an egg there till next week.
Thanks, Paula, love watching them and weather wise it seems fairly calm there today.
PAULA, do you think we had a false alarm at MAINE last night???:):):)
From Dr Sharpe: The Two Harbors nest, occupied by a 9-year-old male (K-81) and a 9-year-old female (K-82) laid their first egg on 2/27. With the angle of the camera and the depth of the egg cup, it is unlikely that we will see the eggs until we go to switch them early next week. You will be able to view this switch on-line. Whoo Hoo - another switch..........
I went on the Maine forum. They say it's a false alarm, too. I offered my sympathies :) Believe the same thing happened to us!
I feel very fortunate that I got a brief glimse of the egg before it went into the nest bowl. For once I was in the right place at the right time, as I was with NE:):):). Paula, I'm still going to keep a close look at the Maine eagles, I have gotten really attached to them, because of the live-feed and the sounds that they make.
The new chick at BW is a beautiful sight---We haven't seen that for a long time!----Do you all think the EAGLES at ME are nesting?
Not yet, Norma, last night was a false alarm.
Chick is visible at BW, parent eating leftovers.
almost looks like she is feeding it.
Was just looking at the little fuzz ball at BW nest. Pretty soon we will have 3 little fuzz balls!!
I will be back in a little while.
Feeding is a go at BW
Jo, will be sending you pics for the Momster albums.
LIVE FEED BACK UP.
Both eagles BW
Eagle back in MAINE nest again.
I bet they have 1 ton of bamboo on BUTA BUTA---ALL YOU SEE IS A LITTLE "WIGGLE" IN THE BACK OF THE ROOM!----
Eating at BW again.
PROUD PARENT at BW!
That little bugger at BW can move.
Great pics coming out of BW now.
MITS---Been reading about the CATALINA GROUP----When will they collect these eggs---I thought I read from the blog that it would be tomorrow---I noticed they had posted the birth at BW----
2nd eagle just flew into MAINE...LOT OF CALLING.
Some on else has a slow computer--It takes forever for mine to PUBLISH---
MT at KENT---The Burrowing Owl is outside---
Norma, they collected the eggs at West End yesterday...go to PAULAS' NAME AND CLICK FOR A 2 PART FILM OF THE COLLECTION BY DR. SHARPE.IT WAS AWESOME.
LIB & BELLE will get soaked according to the weather forecast--
NORMA YOU HAVE MAIL.
Lots of egg turning at our nest this p.m.
Belle just flew in with a REALLY BIG FISH
My bad...think that was Lib that brought in fish.....LIVE-FEED IS DOWN AGAIN
And he is letting her eat it.
so many people must be watching MAINE it keeps stopping and starting, think I jus missed some mating.
THANKS PAULA----AWESOME video!---Thanks MITS for directing me there-----Do you know what time tomorrow they are coming back----
Norma, they will not be going back to West End, til the chicks have hatched from the eggs. Paula might have the heads up as to when they will be going to 2 Harbors to collect their egg/eggs, but I don't think it will be before next week. But I just don't know enough about there sites. For some reason can't get into their forum this afternoon.
THANKS MITS---In my reading---I kept wanting into places---blocked--because I wasn't a member---
and Norma if you want to see NE actually lay the egg about the same time all this was happening at west end you can go to my For the Love of Eagles BLOG...it is at the end of Part 2 of the egg exchange for WE which is also there. You probably actually got a FeedBlitz for that in your email this morning.
We are getting a cold rain now--forecasting heaviest after midnight---POOR BELLE!----but SUNNY tomorrow afternoon---THAT'S THE GOOD NEWS!
THANKS GLO----I think the NE nest didn't know what was happening--ho!That was COOL---I really appreciate reading your columns---They are GREAT!
Your welcome, Norma, glad you enjoyed them:):)!
Our cam seems to be having a little problem just now.
Ok, finally came back.
If you notice the 'tenting' it is raining a bit in this area. Be back soon - placing some of todays shots from Mits in album.I guess everything this morning hour was from BW. Just wait - we'll have our 'chick' turn..........
Photos in album on Momsters for today Lisa has new pics of the chick on BW Mits, they look like the ones you took.
I see we have a tenting eagle :)Sorry I missed the live feed and the big fish!
THANK YOU, JO:)!
PAULA, The live-feed went down just as the big fish arrived, but I sent JO the pics for the Momster Album:).
No eagles but cam #3 is working again at KENT
But Paula did you see the Ravens???That was something else according to the pics I am seeing.
I think Grey's is a repeat
I got video :) Was pretty awesome. Waiting on youtube to process.
Mits - what is going on in ME tonight.Should I go see?
Those are great pics at BW. That eaglet is just too cute! I can't wait!!! Maybe end of next week, beginning of week after.
On Momsters it is pretty cool how the poll was set up on the hatching of egg 3. My name popped right out there.
I just put up SC nest & it was really weird... Large black screen and right smack dab in the middle was the white head of the eagle...........lolI see that the KENT has all 3 cameras up & running.........no eagles...
Time for me to go and play some games for relaxation................BBL
Yes, PAULA, Greys' is a repeat and ER will not be back on til sometime is April
All seems quiet at Maine tonight, JO.
What! No ER either! Grrrr....Gonna go update the blog. BRB.
Nothing happening when I was up there. Hope VA comes on tomorrow. I guess I could go read somewhere on their site as to the hatching of any chicks yet. Be back
Paula, it will be back on with all new episodes on April 12th:(:(.
Norfolk Cam: The first egg was on Jan 31 - so hatching within the week I would suppose.Thursday, March 01, 2007“Technical Difficulties”The Norfolk Botanical Garden has had some general equipment problems that have caused a temporary blackout of the EagleCam. The Garden is working hard to correct these issues and should have new equipment in place sometime tomorrow. We should be back up before the eggs start to hatch! Thanks for your patience. This is about the same thing your email from them said, Mits.
So, Friday or Saturday are the likely dates of the 2nd hatching at BW.
Looks like they posted that right after they replied to my e-mail, another team on the ball like Lisa.
Lady B looks awake, she should be resting while she can, going to check their radar.
Not raining in Cambridge.
Got the raven videos posted. Still waiting on one more of Barton's Cove, got a nice fly out and fly in and the egg. Just click on my name or go to:eagletmomsters.blogspot.com
Ok Paula - not sure I know about Barton's Cove..........
Good evening, All...This morning neither Yahoo or anything they sponsor...blog or weather...was running in this area; although I exchanged Instant Messages with Uncle Dan in Sioux City, who was in the middle of a blizzard, and Yahoo was working there.Long story, short...it's working tonight, but I'm home too late to see much except BW (really bright, active looking first chick) and NCTC.Lot of exciting developments in Eagle Land...keep the good reports coming.Jim
Tenting in the rain at Shepherdstown. I need your prayers again, please, as I just returned from Winchester where Tom will be treated for a serious infection in his knee. Thank goodness for eagles!
Video from Dr Sharpe's sunglass cam of his climb to the West End nest.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FctakWkCm9w
Jo, Barton's Cove is NE
And it is on the blog now, too.
Sandy, Hope those medications take hold quick!
I made my way back - I thought I had gotten lost. Watched all 3 videos and enjoyed them very much. Now I want to see what the lipstick glasses saw.Sandra I am sure there are days that you think that nothing else could go wrong that hasn't already! My prayers for Tom are being said and I also am praying for you. Are you saying that Tom is staying in the hospital & receiving treatment?
"On Momsters it is pretty cool how the poll was set up on the hatching of egg 3. My name popped right out there. "Jo, I did this so I knew who voted on what date for the third egg hatching so they can get their prize!
Sandra, I saw 4 magnets you would love to have at dinner last night at the cracker barrel. Rosters! One was almost identical to your pic.
I emailed Jason at beakspeak that the first chick had arrived at BW. Wondering if he'll post it. I told him that the list of nests with eggs was going to be too long to publish.
Paula as soon as our first egg hatches are you going to close the poll? If you don't, then I can jump in there and change my vote to be more accurate.... lol I wouldn't do that - not Mema.
Blackwater video from todayhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=se7AxHhFQto
Oh, Sandra, so sorry about Tom, will be in my prayers.
Paula, you are a busy beaver...the videos are EGGcellent. Heading over to see the good DR. S now/
Jo, you went to Crackel Barrel...my favorite place to eat and shop:).
Oh me, oh my!! What a busy little eagle day today!! I have seen some of the pics of the new little one. Also got the email about the season starting again for the peregrine falcons in PA. Hopefully things will settle down for me to enjoy all of this.Mommy was still feeling pretty sick today. Please continue to keep her in your prayers!!
I'll probably close the poll before the first hatching (I hope). I'll send out an email reminding everyone to hurry up and vote before I close it.
Man, this fat free pudding is not as good as the real stuff,,,not chocolately enough!
BW video from today by Sharon Feeney was very good. Dr Sharpe's video of the climb was fabulous!!! Did you see all thatpoop shoot on the rocks? lol
Hi There Sharon. For sure your mom is in my prayers.
Over to emails - brb
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
I am thankful it is rain and not more snow for Belle tonight. You see those Eagle Spirits, Jim?
Time to call it a dayGood Night AllPleasant dreams & peaceful sleepPrayers for all being said especially Sharon & her Mom & Sandra's hubby TomGood Morning Suzanne:No new eggs or chicks since you've been gone
GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE...Have an exciting weekend, keep the rest of us posted.I just saw Belle get up, shake her wings out some, turn around and settle back down in a semi-tent position...the rain seems to be picking up.Jim
Good Friday morning, eagle world. What a mess outside! Pouring buckets, and there is from no fog to I can't see a bloody thing fog. And lots of wind, so be careful. But thankfully, not freezing! I thought I heard last night it was supposed to be ver cold, but it was 49° at my house, down to 37° in the mts coming down, and it's 55° here at work. But very heavy rain!See our BW mom is tenting. Can't see too much in our nest, but can see the white head and tail feathers and a black body, but that's about all. Wierd colors to grey for the eagle spirits. Saw where Lisa updated the eagle page, new pics of our first baby feeding, then the baby is looking at the cam. How cute is that!!! Read where Lisa had on the site the update for what to expect, and from that I'm guessing our first chick is a female. Think it said 63% first borns are female, 68% 2nd born are male, so we probably have a little princess among us! Now hopefully the prince will join the family soon! All have a great eagle day! Stay dry if you can!Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Checking my yahoo mail (didn't do it yesterday), and have an email from PA DEP FalconWire. The PA Falcon cam goes live Monday, 6 Mar 07. They said they have finally seen the pair exhibiting nesting behavior at the ledge, so they're turning the cam on again. I checked it one day last week and saw a bird by the large round pole, but at the time it was too dark to tell what it was. Now I'm guessing one of the nestors. So... more eggs and babies. Let's hope this year the babies fare a lot better than the babies from last year!
Lady BW, new mom is awake and looking around. She's still tenting a little, so maybe the rain is not so heavy there. Our parent has moved, but not really tenting. Anybody know, or have you already said, what in the world is that long white thing in the osprey nest? Or is that just a stick with the light on it? Guess I'll wait for daylight.
Ok, she knew I typed what I did, (man, she's good!), so now she's moved and is tenting! Uh oh, checking the chick and egg. She sure is much more relaxed this morning than she was yesterday! But yesterday about this time is when the chick hatched, I think. Big tenting now. Our cam went black, no pic.
Well that was Liberty, proud poppa in the nest. He's no longer tenting, just this refresh he stopped. I was also just outside, and the rain has also stopped. Can't believe the deluge I drove in to get here, and now the rain has totally stopped. So that's a good thing!Glo, didn't see your video of the hatching of our little princess on yahoo, did you post it? If so, where can I see it?Whoever is in our nest isn't moving much, and still not tenting, so rain has probably stopped in Shepherdstown too.
Well, dang, cam 3 in Kent stopped again. Last night, 3 mins after midnight. Other 2 cams appear to be working. Checked the falcon ledge, it's up, but of course it's still dark and you can't see anything but the Harrisburg city lights. Not sure if it's refreshing, either.OH, Lord BW just tucked his head under his wing. Either that, or he's got a bite.
It was a bite, he's looking around again.
Getting daylight, and both our parents look wet. At least there is not rain now, so they'll dry out soon. Haven't seen our little princess all morning. 'Spect dad is keeping her very dry! And that white thing I was seeing on the osprey nest is a very straight stick. New addition since yesterday.
The falcon cam is updating, and it doesn't look as though they've cleaned the ledge yet.OH Lady BW is flying in and you can see the little princess!
Well, no, she didn't fly in, Lord BW is still there showing us his little girl. Well...he was. But maybe he just flew at the cam or something, cause there was a lot of wings going on...
There she is, look quick!!!
Well, dang, pic is not updating, so you can see the little princess and her maybe little soon to be hatched prince. Doting dad looking on...
Well, viewing is over, Lord BW is back keeping everybody warm.
Osprey eagle, Belle turning eggs.
Just checked, one of the falcons is on the bar that hangs out from the building. Nice to see one there!Still an osprey eagle, Lord BW turning eggs, fish in nest supervising, Belle finished and comfy.
Man, everybody is sleeping in this morning. Good morning for it! Falcon is still there, Belle hasn't moved much, nor has Lord BW. Course the fish that's supervising in their nest hasn't moved much either. Oh, Falcon moved up close to the cam. Beautiful!
Close up shot of the nest box in PA now. Think they're just testing the cams to make sure they are operational for Monday, when they come on officiallly. (Geesh, what a concept, test first!) But I sure hope they clean that ledge this weekend. Nobody has done that but Mother Nature, and she didn't get it all!!!
Cam just refreshed, our falcon is still up close to the cam. So cam is updating, and so is time. Pic only refreshes every 2 mins.
