Fish for Breakfast 2 4/27

Got a call from Washington that someone was worried that Eaglet 3 was not moving. He/she wasn't moving much till Dad just brough back a smallmouth from the river. Funny how the two older eaglets just sat there and let number three get some of the choice pieces; good for them. I'm getting more and more optimistic that we could beat these mortality rate odds.

more later.

The video was up around 9:30 am this morning, but it is down now, probably technical issues that they are working on.

Just tuning into the live cam today, and they babies sure have growen alot. Watching the biggest it was kind of hopping across the nest with wings out spread as to take flight. Stretching wings and yawning alot, plus the pooping into midair..lol Going to really be tight in the nest once all 3 get to flappin wings. The parent's sure do feed them well. What makes me laugh is the way they sleep in their sides with feet stretched out. so relaxed.

Its alittle after 8 pm and momma just returned she is trying to fortify the nest. I hope she builds it up alittle as the babies seem to want to perch right on the edge sometimes, especially when backing up to tend to business..lol As the biggist just did. Even the biggest is now moving sticks around the nest, he seems to be playing with it in his beak.Well its getting dark, they will be going to sleep soon, Thanks for the enjoyment of watching these great birds.

9:44 p.m. Haven't gotten to watch a lot today but hope to tomorrow. I pray these babies make it. I know they have a lot of people praying for them. I sure am. Nilla, the first time I saw the poop-shooting business, I laughed so hard. They now how to keep their house clean, huh? They make me really nervous backing up to the edge of that nest.

Big boy sure has been working hard this morning his his muscles. Scares me. He is not the steadiest on his feet. Now it looks like they are fistacuffing. More and more active. Getting closer and closer to leaving us.

Okay, I was just watching, saw the back of an eagle and thought it was one of the adults. Couldn't see its head. It was big boy. I can't believe how big they are getting. Earlier this morning, I saw what looked like 2 starlings just to the left of the nest on the tree. They did not hang around long and all three eaglets perked up their heads when they flew off. I guess starlings would make a good little snack for these babies, huh?

3/27/24 stick again

Raindrops just roll off the back Here, dear. Let me hit you in the head with this stick LO. L. 10:10 37 Scout gets up and exits the nest to...
