Prayers for Lynne2's Steve and Mom and Wendy. Sure hope the doctors keep her inhouse therapy longer than 72 hrs. Continued prayers for Lynn♥.

Tori sounds like the fighter I know she is of course Robyn is her encourgement. Prayers for building your muscles up. Thinking of Kay and her pain. Shirley I hope you soon feel better from the rool canal. Sharon is with Nila-such a faithful woman May God Bless Nila and help those around her.

Mema Jo said...

Tori, it sounds like tomorrow you will
Spread your wings and fly Home to your
Nest. Very very happy for you and your
mom! ♥♥

wvgal_dana said...

Either grass on the egg or there is a crack or pip.

Judie said...

Thank you, Steve.

Thank you, Jo.

Belle is being uncooperative forme this morning. Guess I need to adjust my nest-check schedule. Last I looked, she's sitting and snapping at flies.

Lori, assignment was to use theories of criminal behavior to explain a domestic terrorist group, The Order, and its members. Apparently the assignment was far too challenging for college seniors.

Good morning, Lynn.

Okay, one last quick nest check then back to papers.

Lolly said...

Good morning! Great to read the blog and see Lynn and Megan on this morning!☺

We are having very muggy weather and my joints are aching. Bummer!

Watched Belle back up once and saw the little bobblehead. Did not see a pip in the other egg.

Lolly said...

As I said last night, I have NOT heard from Andy so do not know if or when we will get together. She is busy with family and that is most important!!

Bird Girl said...

GACK! Couldn't they throw out the leftovers? Ewwwww LOL

*bobblehead dance* We have a bobblehead, we have a bobblehead YAY!!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed that this season is much better than last!

Lolly said...

It is nice to see all the food in the pantry! Good on Shep!

Lolly said...

Hi Delphia! Yes, definitely hoping for a better year. So far so good! Shep is doing a great job!

BWO - Nest Update

03/15/12:
Osprey Alert!
First osprey of the year!

Lolly said...

Going to read the paper and finish my coffee.

Sandi said...

Hi all, just logging back on from school and figured there would be a new thread - we're filling 'em up pretty fast these days!

Lynne2 said...

good morning! been trying to get some things done around here this morning and have been peeking in on our birds.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

You mean new thread, new hatchling, right Steve?

WV sUSAn said...

JO. Woohhoooo. Thanks for the BWO osprey news. I've missed those masked bandits!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Good morning again.

GO BEAVERS!!!!

Just got back from visiting Nila. I swear, that has to be one of the toughest women I know. I touched her hand, spoke to her and she immediately opened her eyes. She tried to say something but I am not sure what. I told her that Andrew, Mattie and Justin said hello and they loved her and there was a hint of a smile that hit her face. She loves them so much. She has always called Andrew "my baby". :) I am not sure that she sees when she opens her eyes because her eyes don't track but she opens them nonetheless. Her son, sister, niece and nephew were there when I left.

Hedgie, I gave her your message and hug! ♥♥

Bird Girl said...

So do we get to call the first hatchling Pi since he hatched on Pi day?? :D

back from park with Jordyn

wvgal_dana said...

lol seen Belle roll the chick but not the egg

NatureNut said...

Good Morning!!
Blessings to all.
May have to go to Park for a few on some program training. If lady gets "unbusy", she'll call me later. So I better get ready just in case!

Gotta check nest!! ☺

Costume Lady said...

Our chicklet looks so strong and as cute as a button. It is so satisfying to see a healthy baby in our nest. I think it must be female because of size and alertness to mom and dad's presence.

It is 61° here in Nestville and soon we'll have panting eagles in the nest when 82° hits us in a few hours. Slight chance of showers.

Lolly said...

It is going to be warmer there than it is here.

I see our cute little bobblehead. Looks like it is being fed. So sweet!

paula eagleholic said...

Chick is reaching for the beak...no food, just Mom testing...

JudyEddy said...

Does she regurgitate food also

paula eagleholic said...

Egg roll and naptime....haven't seen a pip

Lolly said...

Do not know what she is feeding it as I do not see Belle picking up food. Reminds me of when she was giving fluid to Paddy.

JudyEddy said...

looks like Belle is rearranging the cup

Bird Girl said...

I wonder why she didn't give the chick any fish? Not like she doesn't have plenty just lying around....

Bird Girl said...
This comment has been removed by the author.
paula eagleholic said...

No, eagles do not regurgitate food.

Yes Lolly...looked the same...think it was either fluid or testing.

Lolly said...

I was wondering about that myself.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

We have a thunderboomer rolling in.

Lolly said...

We learned last year how they can give fluid to the eaglets, but she has fish right there. Hmmmmm????

Lolly said...

Hi Sharon! Glad you saw Nila and I am sure she knew you were there. God bless her!

Lolly said...

Need to start my day! Will be lurking!

Didn't know that why I ask Paula thanks for the feed back I know some animals do not for sure which Belle looks so hot again

Lynne2 said...

Sandi, no I don't think you are out of line with your comments. And it doesn't mean the my MIL is giving up on her. But, there is NOTHING else my MIL can do for her. Wendy has to want to live, and get straight. Mom cannot move down there, and stay with her every second of every day to try to make sure she doesn't do anything to hurt herself, or take pill, or go down a path of destruction. It is the heartache and nightmare of every loved one of every addict with depression that severe, especially for a mother. The 72 hour evaluation will reveal more, but I don't know that if she "fails" so to speak, that there is anything they can do legally to force her to stay and get the help she needs.

Mom and Norm are not young. Mom has been pretty sick since this all started. She has been very sick to her stomach. She is also diabetic, and has a neck problem. Her husband suffers from severe knee and foot issues and doesn't get around too well. They are both under regular doctor care. They are not able to maintain the house and property they live at and had wanted it on the market this month. Norm cannot live there alone, and even if he could, they aren't able to afford to pay a mortgage on one place and rent for her to live down there.

It would be great if Wendy would come back with them, and get care here. She could even stay with us if she wanted to. It has all been offered to her before, many times. But she wouldn't do it. Maybe this time she will. She tried it once, but left. I think it's clear that she does NOT want to be in too close proximity to any of us so she could just do her thing.

I don't want you or anyone to think that she is being a cold hearted person. But this is tearing them apart, and it does any family with someone in it who is hell bent on destruction.

I am relatively new to this family. It has become clear to me in the last few days that I've been kept out of the loop on some things where Wendy's past is concerned. My own heart is breaking. But, sometimes all that is left to do is to just pray. Just let go, and let GOD.

JudyEddy said...

LOLLY maybe she has him on a scheduled feeding LOL and only is giving fluids LOL I though someone said yesterday that they don't eat on the first day but she did feed him or her so I guess they do what they want

Lynne2 said...

SHARON, I know exactly what Nila saw...she saw LOVE. ♥

paula eagleholic said...

Probably strengthening those chicklet neck muscles

JudyEddy said...

SCOTT T on face book gave the me same answer Paula no with the Reg but fluid to drink so the eaglet was thirsty LOL

I have been watching while doing my walking. Shep is so funny. Saw him move that fish. What a man! He did not like that "deat" fish in his face! But, then Jo told me deat fish do not smell.????He can not seem to relax. It is up and down and up and down. Baby sitting is NOT a relaxing job!

Thanks Jo, that means I can start looking for the Bear Creek Ospreys as I leave Jen's to see Tori in rehab, new set of rules now. Visiting hours are 8:30 to 8:30 for everyone.

Tori may just be there she is making plans, making up for lost time, I love it!

Tori will be transfered to Kernan at 3 I will be there around that time to take a tour while UMMC transports her. She is scared but I feel once she gets there and meets some of the staff and other patients she will be much more relaxed.

glo said...

awww that was pretty cute. Li'l one is getting stronger. Kind of beak to beak and eye to eye with Shep. But then tuck a bye Dad tucked it back in. He so wants Belle to come LOL

ROBYN...If Tori wants to come to our "Open House" next month, the Eagle Express will be there for her comfort and even a nap if she wishes. We will make her as comfortable as possible...special food, drinks, videos, YOU NAME IT!♥

Sandi said...

Oops. Accidentally posted on the old thread, so I'm bringing this over:

Unless I missed something with my speed reading, Shep has not fed the chicklet - I would LOVE to be watching the first time he tries!

SHARON, do you have a pear tree? If not, there will be no partridge! Sorry, those are the rules! Good that Nila has a relationship with God; He will help her with the journey.

Wonder if our eagles ever question their decision to nest in a deciduous tree? So many eagle nests are in pine trees, where there are needles to offer some protection from snow in the winter and also offer shade as the temps go up. Poor Belle and Shep, incubating in this hot sun in March with no leaves on the sycamore!

glo said...

I am not sure baby wants to play Tuck a Bye daddy much longer. MTBR

glo said...

LOL I would say Shep kind of has his "talons" full this afternoon. I don't want to hog the blog so will cy later or tomorrow. Gorgeous day itme for some fresh air.

Shep is making me nervous too. I think he wants to incubate the other egg but doesn't quite know what to do with the chick. I wish Belle would return already.

JudyEddy said...

Jordyn and I are heading out for a bit

Lolly said...

Oh, gee....wish I had a necj scarf!!! LOL Love you, Margy!!

Went out and bought a few plants. Jack went to lunch with friends and he brought me back some things to plants, so time to put on my mucking clothes and get out in the muck.

Was surprised to see Shep still on the nest. Really surprised at Belle!

Lolly said...

Maybe when I come back in Belle will be here!

paula eagleholic said...

I agree, Shep doesn't have a clue on feeding the chick.

NatureNut said...

Good Grief! Shep is flugging like there's going to be a long winter's night! Poor baby.Got a tiny glimpse~~chick was up front and egg behind. Isn't it lunch time for Chicklet?

PattiO said...

Do you think it's possible for the chick to get too hot under there Paula? It's 81 degrees and Shep is panting. Heck, all the eagles I check are panting! This weather has gone crazy!

paula eagleholic said...

Margy, have only seen one osprey at a time at BWO

paula eagleholic said...

I don't know if it's too warm under Shep or not, PattiO

paula eagleholic said...

I would think he's a good shield from the warm sun

Kay said...

Happy to see Shep in charge--hope we all see him feed Sweetie Pi soon ! Enjoyed reading all the Thursday comments and speculations ! Shep seems to be tracking with something right now, hope it's Belle.

God Bless Nila, SHARON and God Bless you for your steadfast friendship !

Nice to see LYNN checking in--hope the break in the chemo regimen will be beneficial ! Prayers !

paula eagleholic said...

Shep up for a quick egg check, chick is bobbing around...and back down

Kay said...

Thanks you all for your thoughts and prayers. Back surgeon agrees that the cortisone injections should be tried before resorting to surgery. So, I'll have one of those a week from today. Surgery is the only thing that will "heal" the offending discs, etc., but will delay it as long as possible. He suggested cutting back on the pain meds as much as I can, and prescribed an anti-nausea tablet to dissolve under the tongue. Now CVS says he must contact Aetna with justification. I'm getting more frustrated with that Co. by the day.

BELLE ARRIVES !

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Belle is home.

Lori O. said...

Looks like a big pip in the second egg!!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Is that a pip in that other egg?

Kay said...

SHEP IS SAVED BY THE BELLE. HOPE HE WATCHES MAMA TO SEE HOW THE FEEDING IS DONE. IS THAT A PIP ON TOP OF THE SECOND EGG ?

Sandi said...

Home from school. Shep just took off and there is def. a pip in egg #2!!

Lynne2 said...

IS THAT A PIP IN THE OTHER EGG???

Kay said...

YEP, WE'RE ALL SEEING THE PIP ! HURRAY ! BELLE FEEDING !!!!

Harbinger said...

Such a joy to see the baby getting lots of food from mommy!!!

Lynne2 said...

EATING!!!!

Kay said...

THE PANTRY SEEMS TO HAVE PLENTY OF FISH AND THE FLIES ARE LOVING IT. IT'S A GOOD THING EAGLES HAVE LITTLE TO NO SENSE OF SMELL. TRUE OF ALL RAPTORS, I BELIEVE, THUS THEIR ABILITY TO ENJOY ROADKILL.

paula eagleholic said...

Whoo hoo we have a pip in the second egg!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Yes we do Paula!

Sandi said...

Reading back, i see that Shep never did try to feed chicklet, but trying to hit that moving target is a lot more of a challenge than moving sticks, bringing in new fluff, delivering fish, and/or incubating eggs! I'm sure he'll get the hang of it. And now there will be 2 to feed!!!

Lynne2 said...

oh wow, that's a PIP for sure! We may just have Bobble 2 by sundown!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

So grateful that this year is such a stark contrast from last year.

Kay said...

ROBYN, what wonderfully encouraging news you have of Miss True Grit, Tori ! Do so hope the two of you and dear BOBBIE can all join the group in April ! ♥♥♥

PattiO said...

Of course Belle comes back and feeds the chick while I'm not looking! Glad she's back though!

Kay said...

LYNNE, have you, Steve, his sis and the rest of the family in thoughts and prayers. Hope someone on that staff can find the key to Wendy's heart and brain so her will to live will return !

paula eagleholic said...

Guess we all saw that PIP!

Hurray for the PIP PATROL!

Kay said...

Drat, must leave for a while, hope to return to another bobblehead !

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

paula eagleholic said...

ok, so we were all looking at the pip, anyone get a pic? I didn't, because I'm not on my regular computer at work!

paula eagleholic said...

And I just caught the end of the feeding and was on the phone...did chicklet get some morsels?

Sandi said...

Hey all, guess what we have ...

I am glad to see we have a new chick in this nest, but so far I have missed all the important action in spite of watching the live feed quite a bit.

Anybody have clips of the hatching and feedings??

The lady Osprey at BWO has either left or gone to dinner it looks like. She looks like (but isn't) a lot like the smallish female from last year's nesting season.

Hi, Gang!!
Finally got here on the blog!
Trying desperately to read back a little--we have been CONSTANTLY busy since we got here at the kids' house!--YAY!! See we have a bobblehead!!!!

I apologize for being MIA! The hotel we stayed at Saturday night did NOT have free internet!
Finally got set up on Jen's wireless, so now I can function here. Having the time of our lives, and will try to figure out when we can get together with Lolly, and will call her tomorrow.

Today is Sierra's 6th Birthday, and we have been running since we got up this morning. We took her to the park, and went to the movies to see the Lorax movie. It was really good--with a real message to it! She loved it. Per Sierra's request, we had cereal (choice of Cookie Crisp, Golden Grahams, or Cheerios), and sausage links for dinner. The birthday cake was apple caramel (YUM!) with vanilla ice cream.

I have been taking pictures, and will try to figure out where I packed the USB cord, and get them loaded in the laptop, so I can share them.

Need to read and try to catch up a little. Will BBIALW....I've missed all of you SOOO much!!!!
