Just when I thought I as catching up on the comments...a new thread announcement. LOL

So, Jack and I had started the DVD and started our walk, when he yelled..."come quick". I was watching our eagles but he was watching our feeders. And, there on the feeders we had 4 of the yellowest (is that a word?) finches we have ever seen. Wow...they looked like canaries! I got some pictures! Will post later. You may get yellow finches like that but we certainly do not see them.

Now to get with it in the yard. Have a great day! Jo, know you are now feeling so very proud of your two sons...your natural resources. Love it!!!!

Sandi said...

I think Shep has reached the point that he can no longer brood both chicklets! I just watched him straddle Lil and then start to wiggle on down with Big alongside him. Now Lil is sticking out too! Good thing their new feathers are coming in. I can see today that Big is slightly darker in color than Lil.

Well I have a ticket, I paid for one anyway yet they don't send a ticket now, I have a confirmation code and an itenirary. I wished they would send me a ticket but they don't. I have not flwon for ten years so it feels so strange all the new rules that I had not paid much attention to before!!!

OH JO and SHARON I would love to see you too...I fly to Connecticut and then drive with the family to Maine in the woods is where the house is...

I will come visit you and LYNN and all who will attend our gathering in 2013...I will save my Canada Pension and my old age security cheques to pay for thi trip...I hope our minister of finance does not mess with my old age security on the 29 th of this month...MTBR as LYNN would say.

I will ask Carol if I could use her lap top when I am with her to get on the blog and I am only going to be gone for two weeks. I spend Canada Day in the USA also...so it is very exciting to have both CANADA DAY and THE FOURTH OF JULY with my American family. There will be twenty of us...I can hardly wait. Maybe a side trip to Cape Cod to go in the ocean, Maine water is too cold, but then again it is warmer than Nova Scotia waters I am sure!!! LOL!!!
I have to settle down, I can not believe I will be in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA in 91 days!!!
I have to phone Spokane to get a hotel room and also to find a place to leave my car for two weeks...BCAA gave me a book where I can search such information and they gave me State Maps and City maps for the trip...My Passport pictures were for free.GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.

Kay said...

Pleased upon coming on board to see Shep shading his sleeping offspring ! So glad he was a quick study on parenting skills !

I feel hopelessly behind, but did a quick skim.

Thrilled to see you here LYNN and hope you're now on track to keep your meals down and to gain strength quickly. Please don't expend any energy on house or yard work---it can all wait !

Thrilled to hear JO's wonderful sons have been there to take care of yard work ! What wonderful guys they are ! Prayers continueing, dear friend !

Thanks to all for including me in prayers and candles ! I'm feeling a little better today. Haven't needed the TENS, but do feel a bit groggy due to pain killers. Will be trying to cut them down or out this evening and tomorrow. Need to assess just where I am on the pain scale.

SHARON, your post about Dalton hit me like a kick in the stomach. Our Seth has endured so much bullying through elementary, middle school and the first year of H.S.. Now a junior it seems to have abated, thank God. My thoughts and prayers are with that dear boy's parents and friends.

I may, in my current state of confusion, have taken some things out of context, but wonder about the conversation on transplants being gender specific, or not ??? HODA, said kidneys are gender specific, but I've heard many stories of sister to brother and mate to mate donations and transplants. LYNN, did you read back to those posts ? If so, I'd like for you to weigh in with your medical expertise. Again, I may have taken something all wrong and if so, please, someone, HODA perhaps, set me straight !

Shep now feeding one of his bottomless pits ! So cute !

Hoda said...

JO tell these two young men of yours that I think very highly of them and what a TERRIFIC example they are. I feel like giving them a hug myslef...I feel proud of them as I am sure you must be...I also feel very grateful to them as I am sure LYNN is...GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME...

Hoda said...

I made me a count down calendar for my 91 days...
I do have to go get tea and then see about doing the passport application...

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Hoda, 2013 we have a date! :)

Hoda said...

I'll hold you to it SHARON...so very exciting and before I know it I will be 65...Remember the song will you still love me will you still need me when I am 64!!! It used to make me so sad that anyone would ask such a question and now this year I will be 64 and I feel ever so very lucky...I feel much better and woith energy today and GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME. I love that saying SHARON THANK YOU...

Hoda said...

KAY this is what I found on the internet...they said Kidneys were gender specific because of the capacity is different in men and women...this was a google search. I too heard about male/female transplants so a more knowledgeable person than I should make a comment...Our Precious LYNN perhaps when she is ready...so wise and knows so vey much...I go to the doctors and say I will talk to LYNN so I can be clear on my course of action...I asked her a question just last week and how she so very much helped me to bring clarity and to know what to do about my diagnosis...I feel so very blessed truly truly blessed...HUGS LYNN♥ THANK YOU PRECIOUS PRECIOUS LADY...

Hoda, REally happy to hear that you will be in the USA in 91 days! Seems like it should be more days than that! When was the last time you were here? Should be a great reunion!

Hoda said...

PAULA The last I was in the USA was after September 11th...I was so horrified and Dad became very upset with me and said for me to not take on the guilt of their horrible action and insisted that I cross the border and feel at home in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA because this is where he was and my family is...Oh I cry...I flew into Boston where those awful hijackers diverted the planes...How awesome and friendly they all were to me and that included a chap with a gun who assisted me with my questions and helped me get through to security. I understand it is very different now...I just have to ask the right questions to know what not to carry...Hope told me not to carry water except in a small clear plastic water bottle and put it in a plastic bag for example and that I will have to take off my sandals...all of it is for my own safety so it is all good...Only one stop both ways and it is in Minneapolis...Susan lives there.Yes I will drive to Spokane PAULA...it is actually the largest and closest international airport I can get to from where I live. Closer to go to Spokane than to go to Vancouver, Edmonton or Calgary in Canada...the border crossing is forty minutes from my flat and most people make it to Spokane in three hours...I am setting aside four hours just in case...I will leave a day early and then get to see Spokane before I catch the Plane to Connecticut. It is also 600 dollars cheaper to fly from Spokane than it is to fly from a Canadian point of origin...Plane travel in the USA is so much cheaper than it is in Canada...I paid 650 for my ticket in Canadian dollars as opposed to 1200 in Canada point of origin travel also in Canadian dollars...

Hoda said...

Shep came back and is brooding...chicklets are more infront of him than in under him.

Hoda said...

Shep is doing his gurguling call...those chickelts are comotose infront of him!!! So very cute.
The tiwnkling reflection off the lense is beginning to happen around one on the railing section. As tha afternoon progresse it will work its way towards five and become two spots.

Hoda said...

I hope you are having a comfortable nap LYNN♥ also KAY♥

Hoda said...

I lost the live feed for a minute or so and when I got it back Shep had poofed. Chicklets in the cup and awake...don't even think of it...no escaping!!!
Someone lands on the camera and big one gave little one a bup on the beek...flat out!!!

paula eagleholic said...

Hoda, if you go to the airlines website, they should have a list of what is and isn't permitted now....liquids in carry ons are restricted to 4oz, but checked bags are different. And yup, I think you still have to take off your shoes. Best to go there and see.

paula eagleholic said...

And what a price difference! I can see why you are leaving from Washington State...

hedgie said...

Hello again. Still no nap success!
Got the heating pad out for my back so maybe that will help.

Oh my, Hoda, such excitment I hear in your voice. How very wonderful that you will be making your trip!!!!! I am so excited for you. You will be giddy from now until you land in Conn. and then such fun days ahead. WHOO HOO!!!

I knew about gender-specific kidneys, but I am not aware of any other organs that are (except for unmentionable things that I don't know whether they have even tried to transplant yet!! If not, I'm sure it will happen, LOL!)

hedgie said...

Kay, hope your nap is more successful, and that your back is doing much better. I say stick to the TENS, kiddo, and try to get away from the meds if possible.

Sandi said...

Hi all - home from school and my every other Tuesday nail appointment - priorities!!

Hoda, as a former elementary teacher, I think you should make a construction paper chain with 91 rings. Every day, when you wake up, you tear off a ring and when all the rings are gone, it will be your vacation time! I am sure that Lolly and DanaMo will agree that this method is FAR more satisfying than simply Xing off the days on the calendar! I'd suggest reed, white, and blue for the colors! :) Seriously, I am very happy for you and, as Lynn said, I can hear the excitement in your voice already! Sounds like a wonderful reunion trip!

Paula, thanks for the down versus feathers clarification!

How long have Big and Lil been alone? Still makes me nervous - I'm going to tell myself that one parent or the other is sitting right above the nest in the tree!

Have told some of my kids that I am taking the day off on 4/20 to drive to WV and see the nest in person! The kids can't wait for pics - I have tried to explain that I will be on the ground and the nest is 100 ft. in the air, so not to expect too much! I think they think I'm going to be standing in the nest snapping photos of the eaglets! :)

Sandi said...

Hoda, make that red, not reed! LOL

Hoda said...

I got RED WHITE and BLUE SNADI...sounds exciting and I can have flat decorations as I find something to drape them over...We have an art centre for kids 5 to 15 they have construction paper I will go convince them I am a kid at heart and they can send me some red white and blue sheets...use staples and voilà my ring counter...

Yes there is a parent in the attic as I heard one land shortly after Shep took off...

I am too excited to fill up my passport application form today so will wait on that till tomorrow or Thursday so I do not make silly mistakes...my current passport is valid till September but somehow I think the USA requires that I have a valid passport, not expired for six months after entry...I have no idea where I got that thought...

PAULA says to check the airline web site as to what is allowed and what is not, so I think this is a very good idea. Thanks PAULA

Does anyone know if they still serve food on planes or is this extra? I would like to crry some trail mix for food if they do not serve food and I hope this is allowed...do you see how I am getting ahead of myself...I even looked at my sandals today and we are a long way away from being able to wear sandals here...LOL

Hoda said...

See camera shakes again and I hear talons scrapping...chicklets on either side of the cup partly asleep

Sandi said...

Belle is in da house!!!

TORI UPDATE

Room air
Tori is on room air, her sats average 96-98 she also goes to 99 and 100, I am in awe of all that has happened in the past week. Tori is finding herself again, I see the outgoing girl she was before Tori got sick but now Tori is a young lady.

Her appointment with Dr. Iacono went great, Tori should have her trache removed hopefully tomorrow, this has been very frustrating to her since she was told it was coming out 2 weeks ago and she is still waiting. So we are praying and hoping before the weekend...

Tori is moving along great in rehab, she has the leg strength but her right knee and foot are the problem, even Tori's range of motion in her left shoulder is better. Once the pain can be worked thru Tori will have no problem walking.

Tori has been talking about going to the prom and is making it a reality, now she is looking for dresses online with Caylee and Bre. It is great the girls will be going to the prom and will be able to experience the end of High School and the beginning of an entirely new adventure, exploring what life has to offer, be it home or *Across the Universe* :).

The projected discharge is April 6

Finished NCIS in time to catch the end of DWTS....didn't have to watch all the fluff!!! Not surprised at the outcome.

Cool, MArgy---bet the crew was excited, and hope they can share it with the officers!

Goodnight to all turning in, and good luck with the dental apptmt. tomorrow, Shirley.

I'm going to say my goodnights now, as eyes are getting heavy. See you all in the AM.
Prayers for all with a few very special ones going up.

Stopping by to say good night. I have an appointment for my foot before my dental appointment, so I might not be here much. I am truly falling behind on the blog.

I did remember what Lynn said, so I am seeing the podiatrist about my poor sore toe.

See you tomorrow. Good night and God bless.

Need to do the paperwork for the foot doc.

I'll check the nest tomorrow. It is a thick shrub and I have to part the branches to see into the nest. Also, can not see if mama is on the nest or not. I will take my camera and check tomorrow. Jack and I are avoiding going close to the nest, but one hose is connected to the faucet right by the shrub.

The outcome of DWTS was what I expected. Then watched Body of Proof and the news. Also, worked on my nails. I wear gloves most of the time working in the yard, but it is still tough on them. We have a trip coming up and two reunions. Need to keep the nails nice. lol

I am ready for bed and think I will read for a while before heading that way.

Night all! Sweet dreams!

Finished three pages of paperwork for my appointment. I am not a new patient, but I still had to do new patient stuff. Oh, well. I don't mind the paper work, but I am a very old patient. Was with the doc before he became a big shot. Now, I have to see one of his associates because he is so busy.

Dr. appt. for GG tomorrow...she hasn't been doing well for the past 3 days. Don't know if the new "Patch" has anything to do with it, but I really think it does. We shall see!

Glad Ms. Navratilova left DWTS tonight...it was painful to watch her struggling with her dances!

Wow, almost 1 o'clock!

Hi, Everyone,
Was SOOOO busy today whipping the old homestead into shape. Have just about caught up with housework.

Lolly, hope you and Jack recover from your hard work in the yard. I am SO jealous of your cardinal nest!

We called and talked to the kids tonight, especially Courtney and Sierra. They are missing us a lot, too. I know I said I couldn't stand the hot summers in TX a while ago, but you can't have everything, and with A/C, it could be survivable. We miss the kids way TOO much! Gotta be closer to them, as soon as Ken retires!

SO glad to see Lynn here today!!!
Hope your back feels better with the heating pad, and hope you sleep like a baby tonight! Love and hugs coming your way, and prayers for healing going up for you!

Hoda, I'm so excited for you--your trip will be wonderful!!!

Well, about to do a face plant here. Prayers have been said for everyone. Porch light is on. Both security systems are enabled. Sleep tight, everyone! The sandperson has ambushed me! Love all of you! :o]--P.S.: Emma says, "Woof, woof!"

Jewels said...

Good morning! Everyone must really be sleeping well tonight! Even Momma, she hasn't called me tonight. Which is a good thing if she is sleeping!!

Hoda said...

Well CAROLYN Good morning...I havenot slept a wink. I can not sleep I am waaaaaaaayyyyyyy toooooo excited about my trip to the UNITED STATES in the summer. I already know which hotel to use to leave my car while I am gone and I checked the maps to know how to get there and which exits to take...it seems like pretty much a clear road...Now I am thinking about security and getting my boarding passes and what all this will be like. I checked today off the calendar so I only have 89 more days to wait before I go on my trip...I can not sleep, I think it is just a bit too early to think about packing!!!LOL!!!

ANDY I think it will be wonderful when you move closer to the children and the grand children...time will go so fast and before you know it you will be turning on the air conditioning in Texas...don't you already have to do that in Califoernia though?

I know I will go get a cup of tea...

Hoda said...

Belle is tucked in facing eight and she seems very comfortable.less dark than when I logged off, I can actually see her and the fish and the tree trunk at six.

Jewels said...

LOL Hoda, that is very exciting!!!! 89 days to go! Oh heck, just buy new clothes to pack that way you don't live out of a suitcase from now till then!!

Hoda said...

But then if I planned it right maybe I will not pack anything at all and when I get there I can go shopping??? You guys have incredible prices and choices...I have to find a way to slow down...

Belle was up for a short little while and tucked back in again.

Hoda said...

I finished my tea and will go give my bed another go...only half an hour to go CAROLYN...Talk to you later the day...I hope you sleep well too.

I watched this most amazing video while I was having my tea...stunning...ideas worth spreading.
Dr Jill Bolte Taylor her story is stunning...if you have the time watch it...she talks about having a stroke...

DanaMo said...

Oh my 187 comments to read and that will only catch me up on this thread!

Good morning.

Jewels said...

Ok , that sounds like a great idea.... I guess we have good prices, although I do not think so! LOL Yes 30 min to go... no sleep for me till late.. Charlie has a DR appt at 9:45 and then I have a mandatory meeting at 2pm, that will last probably about till 4pm or later!!!
So... I will need to sit near someone that will keep me awake.
Hope u get to sleep now! Sleep well!

Sandi said...

Morning Lori, DMo, Jewels and Hoda! Hoda, what are you doing here at this time of the morning??

DanaMo said...

CarolAnne-Love the cover of the recipe book. Can't wait to see all the goodies inside.

Very tired this morning. Knew I would be after a 4 hour meeting last night. I really need a break from school. Next Wednesday can't come soon enough. Actually, I guess it's Thursday, since we have a half day on Thursday.

Sandi said...

Hey, where is Lori this morning?? There are no posts from her?? Yoohoo ... Lori, where are you??

Lynn, praying that today is an even better day for you than yesterday!

DMo, short school day for me. The latest dermatologist appt. I could get was at 2:30 so I'm taking 1/4 of a day personal day and will leave school @ 1:30. I am counting down with ya! The kids were pretty normal yesterday (as normal as 8th graders can be). Hope it continues.

CarolAnne, love the book cover!! Whatever happened with the eagle scooter??

DanaMo said...

Good for you Sandi. I have to leave early on Friday for a dr. appointment too. Before I have my procedure I have to have an exam and EKG by my primary. My Ablation appointment is April 13.

Last nights meeting was our strategic planning meeting. We reviewed "parent surveys". Of course the parents had a lot to say about our school both good and bad. Unfortunately one comment on the survey was that there is not enough Science/Social Studies in kindergarten. Wow was that a blow! I try to make everyone happy and I know of course that I can't but now I will have that on my mind. It seems that you can never make everyone happy. My primary focus is most definitely reading, then Math. There are only so many hours in a day. Now I know I will end up spending the summer trying to beef up what I do in science/social studies. I thought they were pretty well integrated in my day but I guess not. :(

DanaMo said...

I do not like the spread out comments! I can't make my window small enough to read and have the eagle open. That stinks. I hadn't noticed it til this morning. When did it happen?

Sandi said...

DMo, the latest format change just happened yesterday. I keep waiting for my igoogle home page and my gmail to change to "the new look" (probably within the next couple of days, whether I want it to or not).

Just lost the cam page - GRRR!!!

Belle was up and the chicklets are still sleeping. Now, she is back down, kinda behind them - guess they don't fit too well under her anymore.

Sandi said...

Yup, that's what the US needs - more science and social studies in kindergarten!! That will fix everything that's wrong with education today! LOL!

DanaMo said...

Yeah...right. But it's like the only thing I will remember from that whole survey!

DanaMo said...

Well I'm off to get ready for school. Better go get some makeup on! Make myself presentable.
