First must thank everyone who held my Okie cousins and friends in their hearts and prayers. I talked to my contacts on both sides of the family tree last night and all is well. Cousin Joyce and hubby in Guthrie spent a couple of tense hours in their cellar and listening to hail, rain and howling wind. When they emerged there was no significant damage to be seen on their farm. The high school suffered lots of damage making it necessary to call the school year to a halt 3 days early, but no loss of life or limb in the area. She says all other relatives are AOK as well ! What a relief !

I'm pretty sure those predicted showers and thunderstorms will materialize for the nest this evening. Heavy rain and thunderstorms have rolled through Columbus every couple of hours since 9 o'clock last night. It made for a fitful night of sleep as I expected to hear hail and the tornado warning alarms. The predictions were dire !

Congrats to all you eagle buds who were rooting for Scottie on AI. I didn't watch, but saw the last 10 minutes as it overlapped into the news I watch at 10pm. I was impressed with the poise and grace shown by the girl who came in 2nd and could see how talented the young man is when he sang during his victory walk !

Hi JUDYE, I wondered who would be the first to observe the name change. I used Kay with my middle and last initials at the beginning because I thought there was already a Kay amongst us. I now realize there is only me and Grannie Kay. She rarely checks in, but the Grannie sets her apart. So, I've claimed the simple Kay for myself. ☺

Have no idea what has been going on i Shepherdstown Eagle Land for the past week or so, but wanted say Hi for a few minutes!
Last week my oldest brother was in ICU (until yesterday) in FL and this week I am in Syracuse with my youngest brother's four kids (ages 4-11) while they are away at a conference.
It's been a busy and stressful couple weeks for me!
Nice to be able to try and catch the early birds for once. Any of that SSCC coffee left?? I surely could use some!!

I gathered from the emails that there has been an announcement of the NCTC Open House. I hope I'll be able to discuss that with my hubby and see if he'll go with me......(probably not) and then hopefully make plans. His birthday is just a day or before that, but he's a trooper!!
Is there information in the email of where to make reservations to stay?

Linda, someone will be giving you all the info for reservations. Your hubby would enjoy it. We will not be there this year, but Jack has always tagged along and enjoyed it. This group is such a open loving group and everyone has a great time. The open house is very interesting and it is just fun to see the nest and the campus.

LOL...Lolly has seen me on my "worst day". She stopped in my shop on her way to Shepherdstown, and I had just washed my hair and had it wrapped in a towel. I was a mess, but, so glad she and Jack stopped in! Judie and Darth did the same thing...but, that is a looong, funny story!!
Wish Lolly and Jack were coming to OH this year, but it is a long drive for them. They have been to two Open Houses. You new ladies would love her:)
KAY, so glad you are coming...anxious to meet you. Capt. Gene says it is appx. 350 miles from here to Columbus. We have never driven straight through to Columbus...always stop in Zanesville overnight, just because...(on our way to Chicago).
Smelled a skunk very strongly just before bedtime, last night. I'm wondering if our two fox kits got curious and tried to play with him...going to check the SD Card after breakfast:) If you haven't seen my babies, KIT CARSON and KIT KAT, they are on my last Trail Cam video on my blog, Just For Fun.
Grandson, Jayden is also featured there, making a garden...what a hoot!
Lynn or someone asked about the black cat that is usually seen on the Trail Cam...SHE is a 'drop off' and now has kittens somewhere, probably under my shop...good place for black cats, under a Halloween shop:)
Speaking of skunks making a stink, we had an adult fox to get sprayed one night. We smelled the odor and checked the Trail Cam the next day, and sure enough, you could see it all happening...too funny and stinky:)
LINDA...good to see you back. Hope your brother is well on the road to recovery and that it doesn't take too long for your recovery after your stint with all your charges...what was it, 4? Bless you for being there for them:)

I suspect the missing IM letters can be found hidden beneath the deep and dangerous snow of a far away place where all things discarded seem to be hidden as disguised objects.

Just popping in to say that Judy E sent a message on facebook saying she has tried for hours to get onto the blog. Got a similar message form Jim yesterday. Just giving you a heads up in case you are wondering or have any advice for these folks. Also curious to see if in fact my blog will post so I can message her back with that info. I see many of you are on so not sure what is happening. I won't see your responses BUT if you can help please let them know your suggestions.
Got a deer and a raccoon on the trail cam last night, but setting was on infrared rather than flash (even tho' I was sure it had been on flash and even thought I saw it flash last night)....need to adjust position a little to get full view on zoom....and reset to flash!

How envious I am!!! I think Stronghunter mentioned 90 degree weather and the band will have to march in uniforms...it is 48 F degrees here and it has been wet for the past three days at least.I wish the band well and I do hope they carry and drink lots of water, but I would like to have this warmth and this sunshine...
