Turd Bird return!

paula eagleholic said...

Truder back...have to say that was a nice float down into the nest.

Did he bring anything? Fish, Stick, Fluff?

NatureNut said...

He's back again! Almost landed on her.

paula eagleholic said...

Belle looking to the right like she was gonna poof

Lolly said...

My cam froze. When it came back on he was there! Did not see if he brought anything or not,,

hedgie said...

Fire situation is getting bad.......all available manpower and adjacent county called out.

Lolly said...

My cam is about to stop, approaching 14 minutes. Grrrr!

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda, no one can see your Lib or Belle pic on your blog.

hedgie said...

Both again.

JudyEddy said...

Poof TBird

Liz said...

he keeps sticky his butt in her face.

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda, I checked out your possible HP picture...I think that is Belle spreading her wings in the nest...maybe landing, perhaps. Look at the tail, it goes straight across, unlike Truder's even tail. Also, I don't see any mottling in the white part of the tail that is closest to the back.

JudyEddy said...

POOF BELLE the COUGAR

paula eagleholic said...

Turder gone, and there goes Belle...

Lolly said...

Belle poofed! Off to prepare dinner.

Kay said...

Wouldn't you know it, I got a phone call in the middle of typing my last message. Did get back in time to see the last few moments of the visit. I don't think there is such a thing as an ugly eagle, but Truder will have to mature into full adulthood before he can hope to match our handsome Liberty.

Oh, well, tomorrow is another day. DWTS calls to me.

NatureNut said...

Empty nest. I wonder if Turd took decorating classes and his calendar is off base????

IrisF said...

Kay IM - the fake robin worked for me. I put it in the robins nest and she had to go build another. Don't know if it would work for sparrows or not, but you could try it. Just get a bird for each pot of fern. The ones I got - you pushed a spot on their tummies and they made the proper sound for their species. I have an owl and a raven and of course an eagle...

Leona said...

Evening all. Hedgie I read about Dale Sr. I am one of his number 1 fans. I was sick for the longest time after his death.

paula eagleholic said...

Kay, I agree. Truder does look homely...maybe in time he will look better...but I still don't know if he will be as sharp looking at Liberty was.

hedgie said...

Loretta, that waas a great tribute for Dale! Thanks for sharing that story with me!!!
We had the transport at the plant, too. But the day before the celebration I saw it parked at the Comfort Inn and got some great pics of it without a thousand people in the way!!!

Linda, you should have heard the 90,000 fans at Martinsville yesterday when Jr. took the lead!!!! Always gives me goosebumps!!

I am NO WHERE near ready to honor this intruder with any respectable name, either. I agree....wait until fall to see what happens. Yes, Paula---my sentiment exactly---git 'im, Belle!

paula eagleholic said...

Wow, what are they eating at WE...Looks huge!

You can see the chick!

paula eagleholic said...

Aw chick is peeping...Wray offered food, but think it was too big

paula eagleholic said...

She has such a wall of fluff built up, you can hardly see the chick, let along the eggs in there

paula eagleholic said...

Oops that is K01 at the WE nest....he ate some more and is now brooding

Costume Lady said...

Lynn, what is your opinion on the questionable Lib-Belle photo?

Costume Lady said...

Yes, Paula, that possible HP photo was like a chinese crossword puzzle. Couldn't tell which end was up:)

PammySue said...

I think Turd Bird is just a gangly teenager right now. I'm sure he will grow into another beautiful eagle--hopefully somewhere else.

I would love to see Belle lay some eggs. I would love to see some sweet little eaglets, no matter who their 'baby daddy' is.

hedgie said...

LOL, Paula...float into the nest was riding the wind current!!!

Leona, I am #1 fan!!!!!
You should see my collection of stuff!!!! Our whole plant was in mourning SO bad that production was way down for weeks....we were truly in a state of shock. Don't think I will ever get over it completely.

Linda said...

What is that they're feeding to the chicks at Decorah?

paula eagleholic said...

WANDA, NO ONE CAN SEE THAT PICTURE IT'S JUST A RED X

hedgie said...

Wanda.....I honestly don't know.....lighting washes out the head so bad that I can't tell anything there.....neck does not look as long or skinny as Turd, that's for sure....and since the bird does appear to be fluffed, it's hard to know if Belle or maybe Lib.....I can't see enough of tail to be able to say anything about it.

hedgie said...

Paula---sent Wanda's pic to your email.

Leona said...

Oh Hedgie I have a collection to and still planning on getting a tattoo on my wrist.

Leona said...

I just wish I could have meet him. :(

JudyEddy said...

I just was looking at beakspeak sending link out and I noticed that they have Nctc as ACTITVY OR NESTING they changed it again from Vacant

NatureNut said...

Had a late lunch, so just getting hungry now.
Put some pics in Momsters album---I never learn---uploader, thought it was faster, but all out of order!!! Sorry Jo!
Fubby just called out that kitties are after something!?? I guessed from back here, SB!! Right---
BBL

Costume Lady said...

I have no idea why the eagle picture doesn't show up on my blog. I emailed it to Lynn and WVDana...also posted it on my face-book page. I didn't think it was Belle because it just didn't have her mannerisms.

Lolly said...

I went to fb to see the picture. I really could not see enough to decide who it was.

Lolly said...

Jack has built a nice fire to get the chill off and watching DWTS.

NatureNut said...

BTW, Have a little Ledo's tidbit. For new people, in the past when I visited our local Italian shop, most clerks were foreign & they pronounced my name "Lowreeda"!That store blew up in a gas explosion--no injuries. Today I went to the new store & saw an original clerk. I asked if he remembered my name & he said, "Loreda"! Very close--so English is improving!!

hedgie said...

Thank goodness it is raining!! Maybe that will assist the firefighters in getting this fire out. And thank goodness that it's still relatively warm out.

DanaMo said...

Well once again I missed the visit. Seems like the only one I can catch is that 6:40 in the morning!

hedgie said...

Loretta, I still prefer Lowreeda!!! It's so cute!!!
Pics and puters can be a real challenge! Just ask me, right??!!

Leona, he was a very nice guy in person! Not a great speaker, but who cared?? He was THE MAN and that was all that mattered!!

magpie said...

Weather rolling in, winds picking up, rain's a'fallin' guess the temps will fall soon also behind this front...

Hope the People Train made it westbound before the fires started on the CSX tracks..

lots to read on the blog I see ☺

Great new pictures in the E-M Album...keeps me up to date that way "anyways ..."

Good Evening Eagle Pals, now to see what everyone has been chatting about

xo

Linda said...

Loretta and Lynn (hedgie)

Three of my brothers were at Datona on that dreadful day! They were in the middle of the track, no less. My brothers are BIG Nascar FANS!

Linda said...

AND they're big Dale Sr fans!!

Hi Margy!! Nice to see you!

I am having a hard time tonight.

PammySue said...

My brother-in-law and my niece were huge Dale fans. My niece had to write a poem for an assignment, so I helped her write one about him. I don't remember all of it, but part of it was:

D. A. L. E.
He drives car number 3.
Burning rubber, screaming fans,
Yeah, that's right, he's the man.

stronghunter said...

Have to keep signing in. Links don't work.

Hello, everyone.

PammySue said...

Shirley, I used to have keep signing in too. Then when I did, all my profile info would be gone, so I would have to set it up again.
It has been behaving for me lately, though. Sorry you are having trouble.

And Loretta I loved the story about your overpass tribute to Dale. Very cool thing to do.

hedgie said...

Rain stopped...wind blowing bad!

stronghunter said...

Anyway, there is a video of the Decorah hatching on Yahoo right now. You may have to search a bit.

stronghunter said...

I have had to sign in 3-4 times this evening. I haven't had to do that before.

magpie said...

Craig is a Hottie, PammySue
Eye Candy is another way to put it ☺

magpie said...

some of my favorite hotties were/are out on that train track brush fire ☺

magpie said...

DNR wanted CSX to figure out which train going East or West might have thrown out the sparks that probably caused the fire....there was an identical situation about a year ago, equally thorny to battle

magpie said...

Pammy
What's the tattoo on Craig's left arm?

magpie said...

I'm not ready to officially give the Intruder a nice name yet either.

Leona said...

Well that same day I was cleaning and got a hold of an electric cord. Yes I got the shock of my life. Still don't know how I got loose of that cord. Then after that I find out that Dale had died. Was a ruff day.

stronghunter said...

I am going to say good night. I have much to do tomorrow.

See you later. God bless.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Craig is a hottie and quite a character on top of that! :)

PammySue said...

Margy, thank you. Yes, my Sweetie is very handsome. ♥
The tattoo is a heart that is pierced by some barbed tribal art. There are a couple of blood droplets coming from the heart.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Heading to bed. ♥ and (((HUGS)))

Good night and sweet eagle dreams, my friends of fine feathers and fur. I can't include Jerk yet because I don't think he has fine feathers.

magpie said...

Jo
Thank you for all your work on the Birthday Lists !

And to save you a trip to my Feathers Blog, here is an American Toad, from James's and my trip to Cacapon State Park a few weeks ago.
It's not a Frog, but it is one of two species of toads in West Virginia ☺

PammySue said...

Good night, Sharon.
Yes, Craig is quite a character. He still asks me if I have been watching the buzzards. lol He is a silly boy.

I'll have to decide whether to tell him you guys said he was a hottie or not. Don't want him getting too full of himself. ;)

magpie said...

speaking of Toad, I guess we could call the Intruder Toad for awhile, once in awhile

magpie said...

I hear trains going through the crossing nearby ...guess they are moving at least as far as, somewhere or other

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Did somebody say Train?

Judie said...

Hello everyone.

Hey LOWREEDA. So nice the clerk remembers you and the English is improving. I still like Lowreeda and I'm sticking with it.

Long day. Ankle hurts tonight.

Decorah nest had two very chatty adults earlier. Can't tell what was wrong or what was being served for dinner.

My therapist said she saw the eagles on the news and wanted to know it is our nest. I told her no, it's in Iowa but we watch that nest as well. Just cool she took notice and asked.

Saw our nest with Belle and the interloper. Both moving flugg around and doing nestorations.

Bears are camping out in the great outdoors and Phoebe's babes are all but ready to take flight.

Will leave the night light on for others coming in. Sandperson will be arriving soon. Restful sleep for all.

magpie said...

Oh, go ahead and tell him PammySue!
Might give you some grace when you want to be on the computer !

By the way, I have spent quite a lot of time in Hampshire County back in the day, used to love to go through Capon Bridge...
and see the river there in town .. Cacapon River maybe ?

magpie said...

also spent a lot of time in Hardy County....back on Rock Oak Road I think it is called

Lolly said...

Oh, Pam! Not a good thing to tell him! LOL

hedgie said...

Bears

Linda said...

Whew!! Now that I am caught up on reading posts, I'm going to watch the news and go to bed!!

Lynne2 - Got a real kick about the meatloaf story. Glad it was a success this time.

Have a wonderful rest of your night, eagle friends!

God Bless and Good Night!

PammySue said...

He has already been told he's cute by many women, so I will probably tell him. He is turning 41 on Sunday and he is NOT happy about it, so maybe it will make him feel better. :)

Yes, Margy, it is the Cacapon River that flows thru Capon Bridge. Don't know why the names are different. Do you know what a capon is? It's a castrated rooster. How lovely.

Lolly said...

Margy...I do not like toads or frogs. Laurel took the day off to be a mom today. She went on a field trip with Jacob's kindergarten class. Not sure where they went...a museum, I think. Anyway, there was a pond. Lady there told them to be quiet walking around the pond, they might see a frog. Jacob refused to go out to the pond. Guess he has frogaphobia like his Grandmommy!

magpie said...

It was I, Sharon....have loved the sound of trains all my life, was around when passenger trains went through here all the time, AND, the injured troops/Veterans were transported into the Newton D Baker Veterans Hospital back in the early 50's -
now this facility is the Veterans Affairs Medical Center
I lived there, for a looong time.

magpie said...

I also used to go parking with my original naturalist boyfriend along the tracks, now THAT was a thrill !

magpie said...

Good Night, Shirley and Judie...
(( hugs ♥ ))

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda, I thought that was Belle yesterday morning.

PammySue said...

Oh yeah, there was an article in the Hampshire Review this past week about our eagles. They said that the intruder is a female. They interviewed a few people in the county that watch the cam all the time.
I went to the website, but you can't see the article without an online subscription, so I can't put up a link to it.

paula eagleholic said...

Tell him Pam :)

paula eagleholic said...

Just got caught up on the Maine Saga...such a shame...Dad is back on the nest today, but the eggs went all last night without incubation....Hope he gives up soon. Seems Mom was chased away, and was disturbed and has lost interest in incubating...and after Dad incubating and fighting the intruder. Maine nest has had more than its share of problems.

Leona said...

It saddens me to hear about Maine.

Lolly said...

Someone needs to teach all eagles on how to get along! JMHO ☺

PammySue said...

Lolly, what about cute little tree frogs? Do you like them??? They are so sweet.

Lynne2 said...

I have just killed 32 more stinkbugs. Six on the headboard of my bed. They are flying around her like crazy. I am looking at one circling the ceiling fan,2 are on the blades, on on the chain and one near the light. Sickening.

PammySue said...

Lynne, I heard that the spray that is used to keep flie off of horses will keep stink bugs away from your house . . . Maybe it would help.

magpie said...

Agree, truly heartbreaking about the Maine nest...
like Jim said, so many eagles fly up and along the waterway, just goes with the territory I guess...

magpie said...

Lolly
LOL
I tried to change my avatar to a wildlfower, but machine would not go along with it!

Lynne -
glad to read you some some butterflies today ☺

PammySue Tree frog YUK both my adult kids are afraid to death of them One night my son came over and we went some where in my car a convertible will there must have been one in my car being top was down Well I saw it out of the corner of my eye when I was backing out of the driveway I had said to my son to open the door and knock the frog off the door well he started screaming like a little girl and he was about 2007 and one night I was waiting for my daughter to come over all of a sudden the phone rang and it was her All in a tizzy telling me there was a sticky frog on the front door and she didn't want to come in the door so I opened the door and knocked it off for her Just thought of these when I read your post
Time to lay it down Bye all

PammySue said...

Leona, I'm glad you were somehow able to get away from that electrical cord. I have a very healthy respect/fear of electricity.

Lolly said...

No, Pam, no frogs of any kind. I am not afraid of them....just do not like them! Gross!

magpie said...

Okay!
Then here is Bloodroot instead, from the Yankauer wildlife center...

More Eagle photos taken today. This time dad decided to soar about the nest for me to get him. :) He's a show off for sure. From looking at mom in the nest, and she was very active today, I'd say she has at least 1 chick because she is sitting more on her wings now.

To see them http://raptors.vaphoto.com and the photos start at 156 and go to the end. Also some shots from a red tailed hawk.

magpie said...

Brush fire not over yet...in Hedgesville, Allensville...friend just sent a message, fires on top of ridge, tricky and nasty

God Bless those Firefighters, may they all get to go home soon, and safely.....

Leona said...

Scott I so love your photo's. Wish I could get photo's like that.

hedgie said...

Linda, I am so thankful that I wasn't at the track that fateful day. Your poor brothers......
Leona, I bet the news was a more painful shock than the cord, wasn't it?
Oh, Margy, that's ridiculous......train wheels cause sparks.....dry vegetation ignites. That is one dumb DNR guy.
Hope your special friends are doing okay out there tonight.
And PLEASE don't compare my Toad friends with the turdy bird!!!!

Lolly said...

Oh, yes, Margy! Much better avatar. LOL Bless you!

Mema Jo said...

Margy - the wind is going wild
We can pray for downpours of rain for

Great, Scott!!! Love 'em all!

hedgie said...

I'm worrying a bit about Andy, too!

Robyn, give Tori lots of Momster love and (((HUGS)))!

Kay said...

Iris, thanks, I'll keep my eyes open for a fake bird when I'm in garden centers/departments. I guess just about any kind will probably keep small sparrows at bay.

Pammy Sue, I love the D.A.L.E. verse !

Hedgie and Leona, I think we need a Solomon like decision here. So I'm sayin' Hedgie, you are The Number One Dale Sr. fan East of the Mississippi and Leona, you hold the title West of the Mississippi ! ;o)

The storms did some damage in Central Ohio, downing many trees, a barn and causing widespread roof damage. No injuries reported on the late news, thankfully.

Time to fold up my tent for the night. May you all have a good night and a sunny tomorrow !

hedgie said...

Game is not looking good for Butler.....

Leona said...

Hedgie... My daughter Nina called me and told me. I could not stop crying for days and days. I still get teary eyed when I think of him.

hedgie said...

Kay, glad you weren't in a tent in those storms! Stay safe.

Lolly, I'm a bit worried about Max and his injury.....sure hope he's good to go for next week. Guess we'll learn more tomorrow......I can just hear the dad-blasted comediens now blaming it on Kirstie and her weight! It wasn't her fault at all. Looked like his foot just slipped and then leg twisted and gave out.

hedgie said...

See you all tomorrow. Prayers for all!

hedgie said...

Oh, that comment, Lolly-----it wasn't meant as a pun, but did turn out that way!!! LOL!

Lolly said...

Yes, I agree, the comedians could really make something of that dancing accident, but it was not her fault. I am really not a fan of hers but she has been doing amazingly well for someone her size.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone!

Sorry to worry you about my whereabouts over the weekend. We were just terribly busy--and I was again today, too. Just now got sort of caught up on the blog.

Friday night we met Sis-in-law for dinner at Cheesecake Factory--YUM!
Then we went to her house and watched TV. Bro-in-law was in Reno for a bowling tournament with his team. Their house is tri-level, and creaks and cracks a lot at night. (We suspect it may even be haunted, but that's a VERY long story.) We got home after midnight, and were so tired, I went straight to sleep without getting here to the blog.

Saturday morning we got our taxes done, and WHOOPEE!!! We are getting refunds back from both the federal and the state!

Later on Saturday we met Sis-in-law for a late lunch, then went to a movie. Saw "Jane Eyre"--it was excellent! I recommend it!

It has been quite a project keeping Emma from running around at top speed! We have spent almost every minute we have been at home keeping her quiet and occupied. She is doing really well, and seems to be healing well.

Today I slept in late, mostly because Emma did too! Then had to go pick up our tax forms at the preparer's, go to school to fill out info online about my student loan, go home and keep Emma busy, get Hubby to sign the tax forms, return them to the preparer, get dinner, keep Emma occupied, and then try to catch up on what's going on here on the blog! Boy, did THAT take a while!!!

Ms Bookworm said...

Just a couple of comments--sure glad all of you are OK after those weird storms that were going on!

WV Dana, I'm not ready to vote on a respectable name for Truder yet either, but if it eventually comes to that, I think it would be a great idea to vote as you suggested.

WV sUSAn, I'm so sorry to hear that your MIL has Multiple Myeloma! Don't give up on her, though. My Dad was diagnosed with it when he was 75, and his doctor gave him only 6 months to live, WITH chemo. He went through 2 courses of chemo, and went into remission. He lived to be 82! When he passed away, it was not from Multiple Myeloma, but from another, entirely unrelated type of cancer in his right kidney. The doctors said it was very slow-growing, and not from the Multiple Myeloma. Dad was self-employed and sold golf cars and all the related accessories, like batteries. He worked hard, drove all over the state of California delivering fleets of golf cars and countless numbers of heavy batteries for them. He worked until 3 months before he passed away! So though the picture seems bleak now, don't lose hope! Prayers for your MIL, and for you and Grey! (((HUGS)))!!!

Ms Bookworm said...

Well, I'm going to go watch a bit of TV before calling it a day.

Prayers have been said for everyone, and all God's creatures, especially those in need of healing.

Judie, thanks for turning on the night light! I'm making sure the porch light is on. The eye-scanner security and WV Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are enabled. Hope we all sleep well, with sweet dreams, and I will talk to you in the morning.
God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]

what a bad storm we are having. And a tornado watch too! Good grief.....

Kay said...

Good grief is right, Lynne. Don't you just hate to wake up to such things as tornado watches ? Hope you're ready to head for the basement if it gets worse. Haven't told you how much I enjoyed browsing through your blog---seeing your lovely home and loving hubby as well as the Garden of Eden Loretta gets to enjoy every day !

I'd hoped for a resetting of my internal clock with the sleep in I did yesterday, but no such luck. Here I am staring at a very dark nest and lying in wait.

Lori O. said...

Good Morning KayIM, Lynne and DanaMO soon.

Lynne how is your knee or was it knees?

DanaMo said...

Good morning, anyone up yet?

Storm passed through heavy rain, and wind, but it appears to be over.
Looks like a lot worse in other places according to the news. Hope whoever was under tornado warnings is okay.

Busy day ahead, is it Friday yet?

Nest dark.

Lori O. said...

If that is indeed the nest on the live cam, it is absolutely the darkest I have ever seen it.

Wonder if it has anything to do with their less color, etc., adjustments and all?

DanaMo said...

The still picture is dark but not pitch black like the cam.

DanaMo said...

If I look really close I see movement so I know it's on. The adjustments must be causing it.

Kay said...

Good morning Lori and DanaMo, and hi again, Lynne. Robyn I'm sure we're all holding you and Tori in our thoughts and will be anxious to hear how it went when you have time.

Yes, I can see just enough movement to know the cam is on. Too bad we won't have sound for a while. Makes me realize how heavily I depend on it to assure me the cam is up and alert me to any action on the nest.

Morning Kay!

Love your little chick, Dana ! Those little tykes are mighty lucky to have you for a teacher. What fun, eggs, chicks, yummy food for special occasions !

DanaMo said...

Thank you Kay! I love what I do!

I missed all the discussion about NASCAR and Dale Sr., but we are NASCAR fans too. We used to go to races and went to Bristol every year, but since all the older drivers have retired we watch but don't really have a "driver". I was a huge Terry Labonte fan.

Kay said...

Oh, yes, Labonte was good ! I don't really have personal favorite, but root for Kenseth as I promised my late husband I would do. I enjoy wins by Martin, Jeff Burton and Edwards a lot. Hedgie really got a line of talk going with her brief mention of Dale Jrs' second place finish Sunday. It's been and interesting conversation. Day is breaking at the nest !

Lynne2 said...

Hi all! Lori, Dana, Kay..... I'm up again....or rather, STILL. Haven't really been to sleep. The stinkbug situation last night was beyond ridiculous, with over 20 more killed in the wee hours. Flying all over the place in our room. I killed 9 in the bathroom when the storm got me up. Five more AND a CENTIPEDE already this morning. UGH UGH UGH.

Dana is that a newly hatched chick from this recent batch of eggs??

DanaMo said...

My husband is involved in a race pool type thing with his company so he roots for the drivers he picked in order to advance himself. I pretty much root against certain drivers more than for a particular one! LOL

Nest finally light enough to see. Unfortunately I have to go to school early for a conference so I may miss our morning visit. Going to run for the shower now in hopes to be back in time to see if they show.

DanaMo said...

No Lynne, he is from last year, but since he looked like an eagle I thought I would post his picture! :) I also posted a naked necked turkin yesterday, he was funny looking.
This years eggs are due next Wednesday.

Lori O. said...

Looks like some Turd :) freshened up the fluff in the nest!

Lori O. said...

Sorry, I'm trying to be more accepting of him - Truder.

Good morning Magpie ! Glad you're on---we'll get a good recap of this Nestcapade !

DanaMo said...

I'm with you on that one Lori. Hard to accept him when he chased our Lib away, that's why I know I'm not ready to name him. Plus who knows maybe Lib will make a return and we won't have to.

Looks lonely there all by himself. Wonder if Belle is coming.

Lynne2 said...

ah, a Truder I see....was getting the hubby off to work and feeding dogs.
