Jim - "Sorta" means I didn't really see eggs, just the posture. most here have been talking about seeing two...and there are some clips here and there of it. I am no help on nest news right now
It has been a very useful addition to our emergency responses, and I think some form of it is in effect around the world now.
I think personally however that I've heard more instances where an operator screwed up and got somebody killed than of anything else. Guess that's more news worthy for some reason.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!---MORNIN' LYNN2--SHIRLEY--SISSY & MARGY!---'BY GEORGE'--I am worn out--attempting to keep up with all you folks!---It is a GREY SKY am with temps at 24°---SNOW is predicated today--1--6 inches!--ALL SCHOOLS (except HARDY) are closed here in WILD & WONDERFUL WEST VIRGINIA---'HOME of BELLE & LIBERTY'--OUR BEAUTIFUL EAGLE PARENTS ARE ON THE NEST!!!----LET US ALL GIVE THANKS & PRAY FOR A SUCESSFUL HATCH THIS YEAR!---REJOICE & BE HAPPY!---LIFE IS GOOD!!
Unfortunately, Jim.... the good stories seldom get the coverage ...
we have had some wonderful saves and baby deliveries and things like that at our center...and a few not so good calls, mostly because a caller cannot give us a good location, or a cell phone caller has NO idea where they are
We have a very good record at our Center...so far.... ☺
good Shrove Tuesday morning everyone...have a good one.....weather for nest....
Today Mostly cloudy. Scattered snow showers early...then isolated flurries this afternoon. Highs in the mid 30s. West winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 30 percent.
Tonight Mostly cloudy. Lows around 20. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Wednesday Mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid 30s. West winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
Wednesday Night Mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 20s. West winds 10 to 15 mph. amen:)
In the United Kingdom and many other countries, the day is often known as Pancake Day. Making and eating such foods was considered a last feast with ingredients such as sugar, fat and eggs, whose consumption was traditionally restricted during the ritual fasting associated with Lent.
Of course, this was just off the top of my head! :) NOT! Never heard of Shrove Tuesday but I certainly have now!
There is a huge red-tailed hawk in the tree outside my window! The birds are still coming to the feeders. God, I hope he don't swoop down here and pick one off!!
I write this afternoon to request your prayers for a special intention:
Gregory R. Forte, a 2002 graduate of Mount St. Mary's has been missing since the evening of Tuesday, February 9th from Fenwick Island in Delaware, near Ocean City, MD.
His family and friends held a candlelight vigil and authorities continue to search the area he was last seen and the surrounding area.
Please pray for Greg’s safe return.
I call upon you; answer me, O God.
Turn your ear to me; hear my prayer.

MORNIN' DANA!---(where ever you are)---I have you in my thoughts & prayers!!---Must be terrible to have problems with one's eyes!!--Do you think 'LITTLE MAN' is like the rest of us---'HE HAS HAD IT WITH ALL THIS SNOW'!! take care.....
Norma, you may very well have seen towhees! I have picture on my blog of one the visited my feeder area for the blizzard, here 2 days, but haven't seen him since.
Shirley, I hope Luna isn't ailing and it's a routine vet visit.
Good morning! Great to see the sun on the nest. we have sun here too. Yea! However, it is cold! I am soooo tired of my swamp, formally my back yard. More rain coming next week and hear the possiblity of thunder snow.
Good morning. Started out with some flurries, but now sunny. Cold and breezy. Norma, sorry you are expecting more snow, but please don't send it here. Mits, what a strange, sad story about Greg Foote. Surely doesn't sound good.
Speaking of Shrove Tues. and pancakes....a lot of the organizations around here do day-long pancake breakfasts/lunch/dinner on this day every year. Big fund raiser, for sure. Norma, we have Pancakes around here, too!
Good Morning All Enjoy your Shrove Tuesday! Pancakes for all.
Glad Judie got to her class and is almost ready to come on home. Probably has more laundry to do - you know the sheetz and bedding!
Mits - read the article - surely doesn't sound good - Prayers for Greg just to turn up unharmed for sure.
Sun looks great - just hope it pushes the temps up a little higher.
Guess Margy is getting all gussied up! She may not be recognizable - unless she has on her bibs Still cam looks great.. love the fluff Need to check out emails..
I think the superintendent of Mercer County schools has several law suits pending from the first big snow when kids were riding around on buses at 11 pm in a blinding snow storm, so if a flake falls, she calls it off now!!
Figured out where the media got that initial report of the lugers' fmaily being there when he died. His UNCLE is the team coach, and was there....but not his parents.
16 February: The pair seems to be most interested in their new alternate nest site, but we are still waiting for them to finish a nest (one or the other) and begin laying eggs. We have had cameras in place at the new nest for some time and will connect power and transmission capability to the camera cables if the eagles definitively settle on that nest. Observers have noted a third adult eagle in the area, but it isn't clear what that means.
Interesting about the third adult eagle. However, when we went up there, I remember we saw several nests, so there are lots of eagles around. Feeling the need to go visit again, but it will have to be in the spring!
Saw an egg roll in Colorado, as well as Caltrans. So much for cam surfing....off to eat breakfast.
A QUICK GOOD MORNING BEFORE IT BECOMES AFTERNOON...Jammies still on! Busy day, but will be in my office...so I'll be here if something, like another egg, happens. Just DING me:)
SMILE FOR TODAY:
A truck driver was driving along on the freeway and noticed a sign that read: Low Bridge Ahead. Before he knows it, the bridge is right in front of him and his truck gets wedged under it. Cars are backed up for miles. Finally a police car comes up. The cop gets out of his car and walks to the truck driver, puts his hands on his hips and says, 'Got stuck, huh?' The truck driver says, 'No, I was delivering this bridge and I ran out of gas.'
Norma, that doesn't surprise you, does it??? Maybe this time something will stick and he'll actually go to jail, where he should have been years ago. Always hated listening to him say "Washtin Reskins"...argh!
Barry 'misused goverment funds,' report finds February 16, 2010 - 12:24pm
WASHINGTON - D.C. councilmember Marion Barry "misused government funds" by awarding contracts to his former girlfriend, according to a new report. The report, compiled by Bob Bennett, a former President Clinton lawyer, says Barry's actions warrant a referral to authorities for legal violations. Bennett told the D.C. City Council Tuesday Barry should be investigated by the U.S. Attorney and D.C. Office of Campaign Finance.
Barry allegedly awarded a no-show, $5,000-a-month contract to then-girlfriend Donna Watts-Brighthaupt. Barry has contended that Watts-Brighthaupt was qualified for the contract.
The report finds that Barry received kickbacks from her city contracts.
Took Luna to the vets. She's having eye problems. Not enough tears, so we got some eye drops for her. So now, I have Luna visiting. She has decided that she wants to go out the front door, not the back door. I can't get the dog lead dug out of the snow in front. Pets are like children.
I am so grateful that there is at least one egg down in that egg cup that should be doing well! Come on little Palmer! We need a Nest Visit date so that everyone can get ready! Like close to the 11th week after hatching.

no you can't Jo, although my boss did say the Red Pandas had been moved to the Small Mammal House temporarily...because most of the exhibits are made to the natural habitat, might be ok for animals, but keepers would not get around easily to be able to clean up and put out fresh food.

Happy Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday!!
Hi. How many eggs did you see, Magpie??
I'm wondering-hoping she can lay one more on that original clutch. That way we could conceivably get two chicks.
That's average, and that's enough.

watch and wait and read posts and you will find out soon Jim
Lynne - we started with 911 in Berkeley County in 1986...
Thanks, Magpie.
Interesting piece of history, Lynne2.
It has been a very useful addition to our emergency responses, and I think some form of it is in effect around the world now.

Fair / Windy
36° F
Feels Like: 25° F
Wind: From WNW at 21mph
Yea, and stoopid people in DC always forgive him, I just don't get it!
yep, wonder that too:(
Really windy at the nest.
Took Luna to the vets. She's having eye problems. Not enough tears, so we got some eye drops for her. So now, I have Luna visiting. She has decided that she wants to go out the front door, not the back door. I can't get the dog lead dug out of the snow in front. Pets are like children.
We have a dog lead at the front door and one at the back door. Too bad I don't have a fenced yard.
Mits and Paula...we DO know why...:)
What kind of dog is Luna, Shirley?
Looked up the Ragdoll kitties---cute!
Sure glad the still cam is working again!
Yippee! I'm getting outta here tomorrow! Carolyn is coming to get me for a little outing. TG! Cabin fever IS setting in.
From the Journal Homemade snowshoes used in rescue
Snow flurrying...VERY windy...temp falling. I HATE WINTER.
Please don't let those snow flurries come over the mountain.
I must have missed an egg roll
Eagle is headed in another direction
Lynn - Yes We do know why!
It is a shame for the good people in DC. But you know what they say about Birds of a feather flocking together.
Looks like Belle on the egg cup now. She was pulling more fluff up around her.
Iris' email about young eaglet in Dunedin being adopted - Lynda White
is right there on the scene when duty calls about helping the eagles.
That is good news, Hedgie!
Like I told Judie - Watch your step!
I am so grateful that there is at least one egg down in that egg cup that should be doing well!
Come on little Palmer!
We need a Nest Visit date so that everyone can get ready! Like close to the 11th week after hatching.
I also need a break....
I'll be back soon.........

I miss our Tai
I think that 2/12 is the day that Pook

Guess we'll see her next year.
I was just watching the pandas, Jo
Lots of snowmobile riders on the Snow Man Cam
as a matter of fact, they are the only ones on the Asian Trail that will be out tomorrow when I am there...some yards are too full of snow, and some yards have some slight damage from the snow....
Some type of presentation but I can't read what it says.... wasn't in front of cam long enough
Mits - can you see the other Asia Trail animals inside anywhere.. Like the otters and the leopards or red pandas........
no you can't Jo, although my boss did say the Red Pandas had been moved to the Small Mammal House temporarily...because most of the exhibits are made to the natural habitat, might be ok for animals, but keepers would not get around easily to be able to clean up and put out fresh food.
