Susan is finishing up her classes. Had a big presentation tonight. I want to have her here. I know Kathryn and Susan both have bad colds. They have been coughing over the phone when we talk. Best to give them time to recover.
Maggie is in the 3 yr old program at the elementary school, I believe there are some other special needs children in there too, but it is not a big class...., Howard county has the best special needs programs in the state...I remember how our Belle the teacher from WVA, telling me when Maggie was born how lucky she was to live in MD and to be in that county...she said it would be nice if WVA did the same thing
We are in the middle of the family birthday season. September is Kathryn, October is Rus, November is Hunter, December is Tom and Shirley, and January is Susan and Will.
Will just came up to tell me that we're invited to a surprise birthday party Saturday night for a good friend.
the bus driver has already fallen in love with her....she gets on the bus and says...Maggie's seat, buckle up, please.....fortunately the bus picks her up right in front of their house and drops her off there too.......Paula, Maggie was in day care for the 1st year, then a private school the last two years......just praying that things go well for her....
I love asparagus too, Paula... but never had the pleasure of having hollaindaise sauce with it. When Mother was making those things, I disliked both very much !
Oh my, Shirley, I didn't realize you're a stutterer. It's okay. Don't mind reading you over and over and over. Maybe you should try celery with peanut butter, raisins, cream cheese, and celery seed. That should slow you down a bit.
Paula, happy birthday to John. Dinner sounds yummy.
I thought Wanda was having a "thing" with Tiger but Paula says it's Gene and Tiger.
Didn't realilze it had been 34 years since the Edmund Fitzgerald. Boy does time fly!
Yep, didn't know we had anyone that smart in A'dale -- don't --he lost!
Lynn, you will NOT miss As The World Turns -- you have your own world turning right here!
Lynne2: Cannot express my sadness for you. Just remember when Raven crosses the Rainbow Bridge she will be waiting for you always. I am so very sad for you.
Hi Margy. Thanks for letting me know about Kendra. Prayers for sure.
Andy, hope school went well tonight.
Prayers for Dana and family for tomorrow.
Hoping everyone is home safe and sound and that all we have to do is listen to the rhythm of the rain.
Turning my light off now but leaving the night light on for others. Andy, please set the alarm when you come in from school. Sweet dreams everyone.
Mits - yes, she is very tall. Taller than her mom. They had just come from the game that ended at 7:15 so I got to see her in cheer leading uniform. I know her legs had to have been cold but she didn't think of putting her coat behind her over her legs. She just snuggled up to Mom. It worked!
Well I have done my first round of shoveling and Dex and I are in for the night. Tomorrow is a new day with new challenges and joys too. Nite nite all. Talked with Dana for a bit. She sounded pretty good tonight. I am sure she is up and down, but has some very special moments when she feels very much surrounded by support and love and that is a very good thing. So many of you are a big part of that support. She will get through all this one day at a time.
Night Glo and thanks for the update from your conversation with Dana. You're right about the Support Team ! The Team is really really there when they are most needed!
Good night. I am ready to crawl into my bed for the night. See you tomorrow. Will take one more look at the nest to see the snow. It is just raining here.
Stopping by to say goodnight. Jo went shopping today and we stopped at Cracker Barrel for lunch. I had the trout and Jim had the catfish. Pleasant dreams to all.
Yes, thanks Glo..for sharing this us, I know how comforted Dana must have been to hear your voice. I hope Dex barked a few times for her too ! Be careful when you go a'shoveling.
Good Night Judie, thanks for the pb and celery idea earlier and then again, did so, and put a few ants on the log too. Mmmm-Good!
Jo, I think the surprise party is really for Sherry, a former neighbor and good friend, also a fellow breast cancer survivor. I believe she has a December birthday.
50 degrees here, even had sunshine this afternoon. However, another front is coming through around midnight and supposed to drop into the low 30s, then into the 20's tomorrow night. Brrrr!! But no rain or snow predicted!
Well...my bad! Defrosting the shrimp in the sink...talking on the phone...came downstairs...then ran upstairs...yup, dog ate the half frozen shrimp...shell and all. Hope he doesn't get sick!
Working again! Paula, hope you have MORE shrimp in the freezer. Expensive dog food!!!! Good night to all turning in. It is still snowing----or crapping as Megan said! Hate it, hate it!! Glad that Glo got through to Dana. Prayers for her and family that they find closure tomorrow. Mits, know you are gone, but just want to say that it's great that Maggie has the opportunity she has in Howard Co.
See on FB that Nilla is in FL....too bad she won't be there with Dana tomorrow. Hmmm...do they postpone funerals due to weather? Know we buried my dad in a hard, cold Feb. rain---miserable for everyone.
Thank goodness you bought a large bag of shrimp, Paula! I am calling it a day, fine fowl friends. Stay cozy and safe. Talk to y'all tomorrow. Prayers for so many....hope they bring peace and comfort and healing. G'night.
Tomorrow we all need to have a silent prayer at 2 PM during Ed's graveside service. Ed was cremated and Dana said she had a plot so I would think this is an outside service.
Weather did cancel my grandfather's burial - ground was frozen.
Just droped in to say HI and good nite. I have been bussy seting up my new laptop.I now have a desktop and a laptop. Both have Window 7 in them. NO MORE VISTA Catch you all later.
OK, Ladies...I'm going to let you in on the reason the Capt. calls me TIGER.....Uh, Oh...puter is going crazy...have to say goodnight before it quits;)
Good Grief. Did not know it was this late. Doing emails & I was planning to wrap & print out labels! DUH! So far, just raining here. WE don't need more Precip!! Happy B'Day to Paula's John. I love his dinner!! ☺ Glad you had a good one, Shirley. Thoughts and prayers for Dana. Am with you in spirit.
We have to mark our calendar for a first that occurred this evening. Our older, 3-yr. old cat (they are indoor), Binky, is always trying to get out the door. She usually jumps right off the porch deck onto driveway and under cars, sometimes working her way to garage. That's a good place to trap her & stuff her in carry case. I was out near cars & Fubby opened door. I saw her behind him, but it was too late! Zoom, under a car, I thought. Fubby went to get shoes & case & I heard a Meow! I didn't kneel down, as it was wet, but kept watch. I heard 2 more meows! He opened the door and Binky ran out from under the car, up the steps (she's never been on them before)and into the house!!! ☺ Nothing like cold, wet concrete!
Well, my first long post has disappeared so I'll try to remember what was in it. A belated birthday to Shirley.
Judie wishing you some relief from pain.
Wanda - What about Tiger?? I used to call my Jim Tiger. If you tell, I'll tell.
Lynne, so sorry to hear about Raven. That is one of hardest thing I ever had to do -euthanize my dogs and cat. It was a few years before I got another pet - 2 cats. I know in the future I'll have to go through it again, but I enjoy them so much. There like kids be don't talk back and we know where they are at all times.
There are some on here that need prayers - Dana, Judie, and others I forgot their names, but God will know who they are.
Glo, don't fall shoveling a walkway for Dex.
Well, I'm sure everyone;s probably tucked in for the night so I might as well be there too.
Good late, snowy evening, everyone! I've made it home from school, with some FANTASTIC news! Thank God, and thank you all for your prayers! I ACED ALL 3 EXAMS FROM LAST WEEK!!! Surely the Lord's doing, not mine! I CRS, either! But the Comforter teaches us all things, and brings all things to remembrance! Boy, I guess! THANK YOU, LORD!!!! I couldn't be happier about it!
Shirley, it's still Tuesday here, so once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
Since it's already Wednesday back east, I'll say:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CINDI!!!!! HOPE IT'S A WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC DAY FOR YOU!!!!!!!
I was glad to see that Judie made some ants on a log earlier! They're yummy, aren't they?! Hope you are having less pain--just makes me miserable to think how you must be feeling! Praying harder than ever for you!! Hope you get a really good night's sleep tonight. A good rest always seems to help everything. Here's another BIG (((((HUG)))))!!!!!!! Love you SO much!!!! Love ALL of you guys!!! Margy, guess you've already gone to bed, but I'm really glad you liked my ants on a log, too! Sorry you have to work tomorrow, but at least it's not till the afternoon. Hope it will have warmed up a bit by then. It's REALLY COLD here already! Down to 40, with a low of 37 expected for Anaheim. In the mountains, it's supposed to get down to 7 degrees at Big Bear! Yikes!!! Oh, the San Bernardino Mountains are SO pretty! Solid snow from top to bottom!! Will try to get a picture for you guys tomorrow. Hey, Jim, how is it where you are? About the same? Hope you haven't frozen! My whole system is in shock--the classroom tonight was a miserable 80 degrees, thanks to a broken thermostat, and it was only 40 outside when I came home! They'd better fix that darn thermostat!!!
Hey Bird Girl.... I see it, saw it the African Hawk-Eagle, thanks for the ID on it, and what a racket there too! Still putting the house to bed before myself, thanks for the alert!
Hi, Diann! Good to see you here again! I've missed talking to you! I really like your avatar! Saying some prayers for Lynne's Raven and Jo's Tigress. Really sorry they're not feeling so good. It's just a miserable situation for us, that's for sure! They are really worth the heartache, though. ((((HUGS))))for both of you! Glad to hear that Red is doing well. Good to see Crunch here again, too. Well, it's getting late, so think I'll try to go unwind. Always takes a while to slow down on a school night. I just checked, and the night light is really bright over the nest, the porch light is on, and the eye scanner is officially enabled. Hope everyone gets a really GOOD night's sleep! Prayers have been said for everybody, and for LOTS of situations. Dana, prayers for you, too, and for your family! ((((HUGS))))!!!! Will be having a moment of silence for Ed tomorrow at the time of his service. I'll be there with you in spirit!! Sleep warm and snug, you guys! G'night, and I'll talk to you all tomorrow. God bless!! :o] :o]
P.S.~~Loretta, I'm SO glad your Binky ran back in the house! Smart kitty! Lousy weather to be outside, for sure! Well, saying goodnight for sure now. Sleep tight!

Yesterday, Gene and I saw a Coyote in our woods and then he came near the bird feeders (must have been hungry). I posted a few photos on WILD AND WONDERFUL. It's hard to photograph Mr. Coyote because he moves so fast. Very exciting to us when he visits, we love all wildlife except SKUNKS, SPIDERS AND SNAKES!:)

Good morning. Been up and out since 5:30 trying to shovel BEFORE the winds pick up and start whipping this stuff around. Dex and I have made it to coffee and dog treats but except for a brief stop at a telephone pole he pretty much had me carry him all the way. At least I had a path to the street shoveled for me. :-) Maneuvering up and down the neighbors steps was a whole new ballgame but we made it for round one LOL. Its down right gorgeous but treacherous out there.
Stay safe wherever you are. be careful take your time walking or driving or stay in and keep cuddly warm maybe with your new "snuggie" :-)
NORMA...my son-in-law just sent me this email and because you can't get email, I shall put it on here JUST FOR YOU:)
HOW IS NORMA? > > > A sweet grandmother > telephoned St. Joseph 's Hospital. She timidly asked, "Is it > possible to speak to someone who can tell me how a patient > is doing?" > > The operator said, > "I'll be glad to help, dear. Good slushy morning from Hedgesville! 3" of snow now about 1" of mess---lots of mud under the slush! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CINDI!!!
Wanda, that coyote shot is great!!
Andy, congrats on your exams! Knew you would do it.
Great to see Diann and Crunch back on last night. Yep, Red has deserted us fro FB! Guess it's time to hike out for papers. Building up fire and cleaning off deck and mushing out to de-ice satellite dish have slowed me down!
Prayers for Dana and family today. Moment of silence at 2 on schedule.

See you in the morning light!! Prayers for all that need them!!
Thank you so much for all of the kind greetings, everyone. I appreciate it very much.
The word got out at work, too. I had teachers, secretaries, maintenance people, and students wishing me a happy birthday all day.
It has been a good day.
SNOWING like crazy here!
If I disappear, you'll know the satellite is out!
Shirley, did anyone bake you a cake or take you out for dinner???
Glad everyone is home to roost before it gets bad out!
Nothing yet. Susan called me. They are trying to organize themselves. Tom and I have been sharing birthday celebrations the past few years, so the gang will probably gather this weekend for Tom and me.

I miss hearing about the South Dakota snowfalls....
I rang Dana up but got the answering machine and left a message, I actually just finished my message the machine went "beeep"
It is nice to hear her voice one way or another, though.
God Bless You, Dana
May you feel the presence of our love and the warmth of our (( hugs )) ♥
No doubt in my mind, Helen, Maggie will be the darling of her class...♥
It does sound delicious, Paula. I love asparagus.
That sounds suspicious, Shirley!
Glad all are home - the deck is already covered and is sparkling white!
Mits, I wish your sleet/rain would turn to plain old white snow. Was talking to Anne and your niece at Mass.
I am just so happy for Maggie and the school situation! This should really make her feel special at home!
Jo - you be careful coming in that patio door !! Move the rugs, move anything! Let Ed to the going outside, anything!
the bus driver has already fallen in love with her....she gets on the bus and says...Maggie's seat, buckle up, please.....fortunately the bus picks her up right in front of their house and drops her off there too.......Paula, Maggie was in day care for the 1st year, then a private school the last two years......just praying that things go well for her....

Good Night Mits, just don't watch the news or the weather channel ☺
don't worry...I'm an HGTV, or Crime station TV viewing person...love the food network, but it makes me hungry

They had just come from
the game that ended at 7:15 so I got to see her in cheer leading uniform.
The Team is really really there when
they are most needed!
And I am so grateful for the concept of one day at a time. Any man can fight the battles of just one day!
Yes, thanks Glo..for sharing this us, I know how comforted Dana must have been to hear your voice.
I hope Dex barked a few times for her too !
Be careful when you go a'shoveling.

Hi Loretta....☺
Nothing like cold, wet concrete!
Oh yes, it's Cindi's too!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CINDI!!
Guess it's time to tell everyone Pleasant Feather Dreams! ;>)
Night, Margy & thx for mail! ☺
Postscript on the Wanda Tiger possibility. Many years ago there was a gasoline commercial about "Put a tiger in your tank"!! ???
Margy, you were right...working and getting the snow off the GH....now for some ice cream.
Freezing rain here now... just lovely
God bless us everyone.
Well, fell asleep with puter on my lap. Oh, the dangers of putering in your comfy chair! lol
Going to go bathe and put it to bed!
Night all! Sweet dreams!
Loweeda, so glad your kitty bounded back inside. nite!
Good old Binky, cute story, Loretta!
Diann, sure have missed you, glad to see you on here...you are right, God sure knows, he reads our minds even when we can't!
OK Megan, Ice Cream, perfect dessert reward for this kind of weather ☺
my washing machine is rocking to the beat of Lolly's Santa! lol
had to stay up late so I can sleep in late, going in at 3 pm for 15 hours...might not see too many of you in the wee hours
Hope Andrea had a good night at school. Andy, I had some ants on a log ☺
xo Good Night, All....Sleep Sweetly
EAGLE ON PETE'S POND!!
wish i had Fraps still! this eagle is amazing!
I couldn't be happier about it!
woot! dl Fraps again and the eagle is still there!
It's an African Hawk-Eagle by the way
k Fraps messed up :( It doesn't like RealPlayer when it's embedded, and when I recorded it in the popout,it froze the clip. bleh.
Here's another BIG
(((((HUG)))))!!!!!!!
Congrats Andy....well done!
now everything here is done for the night so me too I guess
Good night everyone...

Now that it is MORNING LIGHT outside, the roads don't look so bad, and the snow/ice is just about gone from our patio.
Yesterday, Gene and I saw a Coyote in our woods and then he came near the bird feeders (must have been hungry). I posted a few photos on WILD AND WONDERFUL. MORNIN' MITS & WANDA!---I think I would be afraid of a coyote---BEAUTIFUL ANIMAL!---We have them in WV---farmers don't like them much!!
Norma, I don't go outside when Mr. Coyote is visiting...he would probably run like the wind, but you just never know!

WANDA!---Just saw your pic of the COYOTO!---Great Photo!---They certainly blend in with the background---Thanks---

Good morning. No school today. Got to sleep in.
Good morning everybody.
Normabyrd, how is it going with you?
WOW!---The two CARDINALS at the bird feeder really stand out!!---Need a camera!---COOL!
MORNIN' BLUEFIELD SHARON!---I checked on BLUEFIELD earlier!---no SNOW!--Our schools are on 2 hours delay---haven't heard any thing different!---Looks BEAUTIFUL--but SLIPPERY too!!
Very snowy at Snowman. Don't think any more snow can stick to his hat.
NORMA...my son-in-law just sent me this email and because you can't get email, I shall put it on here JUST FOR YOU:)
HOW IS NORMA?
> >
> A sweet grandmother
> telephoned St. Joseph 's Hospital. She timidly asked, "Is it
> possible to speak to someone who can tell me how a patient
> is doing?"
>
> The operator said,
> "I'll be glad to help, dear. What's the name and room number
> of the patient?"
>
> The grandmother in her
> weak, tremulous voice said, "Norma Findlay, Room
> 302."
>
> The operator
> replied, "Let me put you on hold while I check with
> the nurse's station
> for that room."
>
>
> After a few minutes,
> the operator returned to the phone and said, "I have
> good news. Her nurse just told me that Norma is
> doing well.
> Her blood pressure is
> fine; her blood work just came back normal and her
> physician, Dr. Cohen, has scheduled her to be discharged
> tomorrow."
>
> The grandmother said,
> "Thank you.
> That's wonderful. I was so worried. God bless you for the good
> news."
>
> The operator replied,
> "You're more than welcome. Is Norma your daughter?"
>
> The grandmother said,
> "No, I'm Norma Findlay in Room 302. No one tells me s**t."
