Prayers for your friend Lynn...wow, that IS young.
Shirley, would George happen to be on Hill's Prescription w/d canned food? You sure don't want him home tonight....remember your colonoscopy prep ;) He's gonna be a busy fella tonight!
Shar and Shirley----Propulsid was pulled for humans due to possibly causing heart arrythmias; it is still available, I think, as an orphan drug for those whose get no relief with other meds. Don't think it is made in US anymore. Veterinary compounding continues, so it apparently doesn't cause the problem with animals.
More info on my friend Rick. He fell in the middle of the night and struck his head, causing a severe bleed. Straight to surgery. Then a couple of days later, had a bleed on the opposite side. I imagine that the fall was due to low blood sugar----he is a brittle diabetic, and doesn't follow protocols well. He over-exerts, which uses up his sugar too fast but he doesn't adjust his insulin dosage. I have saved him several times at work with infusions of glucose.
Judie, congrats on your shiny stove! But you always accomplish something, so don't feel that you have to push it!!
Jo, thanks for sending out reminders!!
Loretta, I have that problem with my HP printer, too. I have re-downloaded a couple of times, but still can't get toolbox to come up anymore. Duh!!! But it does a so much better job w/ pictures than my Epson does, so hate to dump it.
Good Night Judie! I am so happy to hear you and Frank had a good day together and you can certainly see the results just shinning away. Take care and sleep well... Sure hope your leg feels better and better as each day passes.
Oh, poor George! And, I know you miss him tonight.
Football on tonight, but I am not watching. Been playing computer games. Think I have collapsed after the holidays. They are predicting rain and snow tomorrow. Yuk! I will take a light snow but not the rain!
Cleaned house today and put a lot of leftovers into the freezer. Tomorrow need to rsvp a couple of parties. Going to a friends house NYE and two days later to a surprise party for the person who is giving the NYE party. So, two parties with he same group of folks. And, this is not a group I know well.
His diabetes mismanagement has bee n a lifetime thing-----even as a child from what he has admitted. Things do not sound at all good....I am very worried about him. Fever, siezures, feeding tube, vent.....
Well, dear friends, I am heading for the tub and then stoke the fire and hit the hay! Sure is a cold night---flurrying again here, and wind is howling. Supposed to be even worse tomorrow---argh!!! Hope everyone stays warm and sleeps well. Prayers for all.
Thx Lynn about same problem w/printer. I thought about reinstalling the program but didn't know if I had to remove what's there now or not. Was afraid I might not get any of it to work. Judie has a great attitude! As a matter of fact, our TX Xmas presents came in their NEW HP printer box! Gotta check out the model! I better tend to night chores, like shining the stovetop ☺ & get away from this machine! So, Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
Loretta ALL your pictures are great and those are some amazing Christmas decorations!
Ms Hopalong looks like she has an injury similar to a doe that I used to see across the street in the fields. But I didn't see her at all over the summer or since :(
Fell asleep after dinner watching a boring TV show, and am just now getting here!
Lynn, MANY prayers for your friend, Rick. Hope his youth will help with recovery. Hope, too, that his diabetes can be better controlled. So sorry to hear that he's in such a fragile condition! (((HUGS))) for you, and for his family.
Shirley, prayers for George, too! Poor fellow probably IS mighty busy tonight! Sure hope he feels ever so much better, real soon! Know how much you must be missing him--(((HUGS))) for you, too! When we still had cats, we used to give them Petromalt. It comes in a tube, and I think tastes like fish. Our cats used to gobble it up, and it worked well for them. Not prescription, available at pet stores. Judie, if you and Darth are for hire to clean ovens, I could use the two of you! (Maybe I should make that my project for tomorrow--Sis-in-law & Brother-in-law are home for now, so don't have to go anywhere.) On second thought, maybe you should just take it easy tomorrow. Mema Jo, my Hubby, Ken, has a Birthday on Jan. 17th. Thanks so much for keeping us up to date on celebration dates! No easy task! OH--forgot to mention that there was a Scrub Jay in our yard! Haven't seen one in a while. Love those rascals! Also, our Anna's hummers are hanging in there, even with the cold weather we've had lately. They are amazing little critters!
Wanda, I'm SO glad to hear that GG's feeling better! You must be so relieved! Me too! Sharon, I'd rather have a sore throat instead of what Thelma's got too, but actually, no sore throat at all would be best. Prayers for both of you, and (((HUGS))), too. Prayers of protection for those around you, too! Well, better get back to sleep--Hubby will be up in an hour to get ready for work. Prayers for EVERYONE being said. The eye scanner is enabled, the porch light's automatic, and the night light and Christmas lights are on. Sleep tight, and will talk to you later this morning. Love you guys! G'night, all. :o]

Da Bears Oh my who won? Haven't even turned ont he TV yet. When I do it will tell me how cold I am going to be :-0.
Good morning everyone. I guess it really is winter everywhere these days. I have like 3 layers of clothes set out for today.
Hope you all get to feeling better mighty soon. And George comes home today feeling so very much better. He is done with his Christmas treats I take it. I was awakened by quite the sound outside my window. Hoping it was just a couple of raccoons doing their thing and not an animal off to be breakfast for some other animal bUT that is the circle of life. I do think my neighbor deserves some new raccoons but that is another story completely. Like Sharon used to have, I have probably the sister for my neighbor to my right. She is a real prize . OK Gonna get dressed 3 times. Stay warm.
friend in the woods yesterday up here saw bluebirds, waxwings and a flock of robins! I've been in those same woods and seen them too, but not for many years, need to go back this time with a camera
Norma Norma whatcha doin cursin my Bears. Glad you went to see the pictures. I will go back out there today but not till after lunch this time, since its not a race between sun and clouds.
I dont have the link for the puppy cam darn. I did catch it some last year but I didn't save it. Puppy season for that family and eagle season locally, run about the same time. So I need it again too. Sorry Lynne but I am sure you will have it before long. :-)

Magpie Dex does have a naice heavy sweater and booties for when the ground is this cold. I left the heater running yesterday as only stayed at the dam about 15 mins, not that much activity there really just yet. Then swung by the arsenal dam area another 10 or 15. I will put an extra blanket in the car today for him in case I stay long enough to turn the car off. And its going to be sunny with light winds so won't be too bad. But yep his mama bundles him up too.
Lynne, I went to bed last night without answering your question. George is on Hill's i/d. He also has bladder problems, so we have been through lots of prescription foods. He had surgery for those problems some time ago, and has been better in that respect. The end part of his alimentary canal has given him many difficulties.

George is about 12 years old. He is a rescue kitty. Someone found him along with his litter mates, as I recall, in a parking lot at a shopping center where Kathryn was working. She brought him home, but when he got older, he did not get along with her other male kitty, so he came to live with me.
thanks, Shirley....Wanda, Christmas was great, got to see the kids Christmas Eve and Christmas day, also good to see my nephew Jim and his fiancee on Christmas and Saturday, they will be returning to Oregon later today, Ceil, MM and Jim, brought them over to D.C. for the weekend, they went to the zoo and did some other things, so Ceil has been busy too.
Shirley I sure hope George is feeling better today. It sucks when a cat has 2 health issues going on at the same time....is he prone to UTIs? So often the treatments for one can inhibit the treatments for the other.
George had lots of UTIs until they removed all of his male parts. Now he is much better. Poor guy has been through it.
I remember that I had mentioned at school that my kitty had surgery, but when kids asked what kind of surgery, I did not want to explain. That would have been TMI. Hope I've not given TMI here.
Wanda Yes Margie and I would have a blast together but she doesn't come with near the natural padding I do. I would have to bundle her like crazy to ever take her to the dam :-). I think after I got her layered I owuld put rocks in her pocket before I let her near the river just in case the wind was blowing too hard too. On th eother hand spring over their would feel perfect to me if it was sunny and 60 most likely by the end of my winter. And aren't birds great in the spring. Well except my eagles go home to do their thing and I always miss them.

Going to bed now folks. Hopefully sore throat will be gone by tomorrow!
OOOOOO split!
Prayers for your friend Lynn...wow, that IS young.
Shirley, would George happen to be on Hill's Prescription w/d canned food? You sure don't want him home tonight....remember your colonoscopy prep ;) He's gonna be a busy fella tonight!
Well, short nap and am back to sign off.
Hope George is all better tomorrow, Shirley.
Can't see ice rings around moon because my stove is too shiny bright -- first time in many moons.
Sharon, Thelma hope you both are better by tomorrow.
Instead of a frozen t.v. dinner, I think the owl is having a frozen blog dinner.
Loretta, I understand the logic but if Darth told me to get something new, I would be handing him the sales receipt.
Jo, thanks for the birthday/anniversary reminders. Sure hope you had nice evening.
Okay, I've done more than I should have today but just needed to feel I still had something accomplished.
Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Andy, please set the security system when you come in.
Sweet eagle dreams for all.
hope you feel better Sharon! Gargle with some salt water!

Oh Lynn, I sure hope he's going to be OK and WILL follow protocols from now on....

Loretta, I have that problem with my HP printer, too. I have re-downloaded a couple of times, but still can't get toolbox to come up anymore. Duh!!! But it does a so much better job w/ pictures than my Epson does, so hate to dump it.
Prayers for your friend to learn how to take care of himself, Lynn. Sometimes that is the most important part of the cure.
I am going to head up to my warm bed. Tired. Just hope George is sleeping soundly now. Sometimes it takes awhile for them to get him fixed.
I told them they might want to trim his claws before they started working on him.
See you all tomorrow.
Good Night Shirley
I am sure George will be glad to see you when you go to pick him up & he will really feel so much better.
Good Night Judie! I am so happy to hear you and Frank had a good day together and you can certainly see the results just shinning away.

Okay let me look and see if I saved it Norma, Glo and Lynne...

Good morning!
Lynne, I went to bed last night without answering your question. George is on Hill's i/d. He also has bladder problems, so we have been through lots of prescription foods. He had surgery for those problems some time ago, and has been better in that respect. The end part of his alimentary canal has given him many difficulties.
BEWARE of that site if your 'puter has been acting up...it just threw me off and into my email?!
Thanks Magpie and Wanda Off to coffee and dog treats. Enjoy your day.
Shirley, how old is George?
good morning everyone...have a good one:)
Time for me to check out GLO'S GLIMPSES.

Wanda,
George is about 12 years old. He is a rescue kitty. Someone found him along with his litter mates, as I recall, in a parking lot at a shopping center where Kathryn was working. She brought him home, but when he got older, he did not get along with her other male kitty, so he came to live with me.
Well, Shirley, sounds like he has found a special home with you! He will probably be like the ENERGIZER BUNNY when he comes home:)
Sure would like to hear about the Kalis Christmas!
Sure do love the way Blackwater keeps us updated on their site!
Thanks Helen for the reminder:)
Good morning, Helen, good to see you on here this morning.
thanks, Shirley....Wanda, Christmas was great, got to see the kids Christmas Eve and Christmas day, also good to see my nephew Jim and his fiancee on Christmas and Saturday, they will be returning to Oregon later today, Ceil, MM and Jim, brought them over to D.C. for the weekend, they went to the zoo and did some other things, so Ceil has been busy too.
Just called the vet. They are still working with George. It usually takes awhile. Poor guy has a hard time with this problem.
beautiful snowy MT nest up in Maine.
Mits...sound like you had a wonderful Holiday!!
I am sure glad Wanda is feeling better, GG!
OK as soon as I hit the button I knew I had that wrong....
WANDA, I am glad GG is feeling better!
(it was a dyslexic moment)
Thanks Shirley, I'm always relieved when she feels good!
Helen, I hope Jim or MM will have some photos to share:)
wind is picking up here. I do not want to venture outdoors. I think it is a good day for a fire.
Shirley I sure hope George is feeling better today. It sucks when a cat has 2 health issues going on at the same time....is he prone to UTIs? So often the treatments for one can inhibit the treatments for the other.
Shirley, I just read your story of the pigeons...sweet story:)
I am glad GG is better, too, Wanda and Lynne.
Pigeons?
Wanda, Christmas day, looked like a paparazzi feast, someone got some pictures, hopefully:).
SORRY, Lynne and Shirley...I had a Dyslexic moment too! Lynne had the sweet pigeon story!
I can well imagine the light flashes at the KALIS HOUSEHOLD:)
Poor George, he probably doesn't know if he is GEORGE OR GEORGETTE!
roflmbo, Wanda, good one:)
Time to make Dustin some breakfast. BBWIC
I hope he is not too worried about his macho image.
New thread! Red rover come over!
NEW THREAD
COME ON OVER !!
