what a great story about Tiny, and what a great place that is helping him...now these are the type of places I like to contribute my money too...and the next place they are sending him to, the American Eagle Foundation, have gotten lots of things from there.
Gotta get my act together & not be an owl! Work Fri. & Sat. Really tired anyway~~~end to a good day w/good friends!
There may be a temp. avatar pic if it works. I can't believe it~~~just sent to me from daughter's Blackberry in Kissimmee, FL!!!! I didn't know she was there already. Place is called Gaylord Plaza! Good night to all--Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
Wow-oh-wow, what a cool bird THAT Tiny is!! What a miracle that everything has turned out so well for him! And that close-up pic is marvelous, isn't it??
Can't believe that Grey's and Private Practice are done for the year.....sure doesn't seem like it's been 13 weeks....but guess it has! Will have to wait now til January. Going to get my bath and then will watch Criminal Minds! Still need to check Momster mail and FB, too----it's a pain getting so far behind! Penalties hurt!! Thanks to all for making this afternoon such a special gathering. Once aagain....TO DEB!! Goodnight.
Hi, Everyone, I made it home from school OK. Had a really good time in class! Sharon, you'll relate to this--I got to transcribe 3 Progress Notes, and an Emergency Room Note! After a 4-1/2 hour class, I'm getting used to my new foot pedal, and am really enjoying what I'm doing! I can tell I'm really going to love Medical Transcription! Got all my homework for the week turned in. I can relax for a bit before hitting the hay. I'm SO glad you all had such a good time at the luncheon in Deb's memory! I'm sure she was smiling down on you. I sat and watched my birdy friends outside, and read the poem Chrissy wrote for her. Margy, I saw a license plate frame that SO reminded me of you! I was ROFLMBO!!! It's: "Go ahead and call 9-1-1...It's my day off!" BTW, LOVE your avatar! Beautiful picture! Sharon and Sissy, how is Granny Riffe? Haven't had time to read back too far. Have been praying for her! God bless her! Did see that Oprah will be quitting her show in 2010. Good! I've liked her less and less lately. She acts as if she just owns everybody, and I really don't like her attitude. If she gets her own network started, I will just block it on my DirecTV so I don't have to watch it! Sharon, I'm hearing a really LOUD TRAIN whistle! Won't be long now, will it?!! Well, it's insanely late, so I'll go now and try to unwind. Prayers being said for everyone; the night light is on, brighter than ever, the porch light will see you coming, and the eye scanner is enabled. Love all of you guys! Sleep tight, and God bless. :o]
P.S.~~I'm pulling a Margy here! Diann, while reading back on the blog in a futile effort to catch up, I saw your comments about driving on the Interstate. I take the freeway (as we call them here in So. Calif.) to school. Got on our 57 fwy. to go to school, and it was a parking lot! Took me 40 minutes to go 4-1/2 miles! WOOF!! Wish I could've taken a nice country road through farm country!
Good morning my wonderful eagle buds!! Didn't get on yesterday, sorry bout that. When I start talking to you guys, I can't stop, then I get behind on work.
Hard time for us this week. 11/20/1980 was the day of our fire when Adam and Aaron died along with our friends, Lori and Punkin Glass. It was the Thursday before Thanksgiving. I think I have a harder time on that day (Thursday before Thanksgiving) than I do 11/20 sometimes. But, it is what it is, and prayers and love gets us through every year.
We are taking Mattie to see New Moon right after school this evening. Thought that would be a great way to spend this evening.
New Moon is the latest movie in the Twilight series. Opens today. The first showing was a midnight movie last night but I just couldn't bring myself to do that on a work/school night. She has posters of it all over her room, life size cut out of the lead character, Edward Cullen, in her room. It is a great big deal. We have all the books!!
That sounds good Margy cause Norman is sunshine, and pretty flowers. All the nice things that the world can bring. Joy, happiness, pleasant, sweet and all those wonderful implying words from the dictionary ....there that covred it lol
MORNIN' MARGY & DANA!---I am broke!!-but appreciate your flattery!--ho! Do you know it is supposed to get very--very COOL this evening!!--guess one should cover all outside flowers?
I had a nice 'surprise' yesterday---a cousin is the Regional Ed Service Agency VII CHR---located in Martinsburg--had meetings at the WV SCHOOLS FOR D&B in Romney yesterday & today---she came over & we talked--talked then went to dinner!--Such fun trading secrets about the family!!---Lives in Martinsburg--JANE CAIN LYNCH--Thought you might know her MARGY!
Megan, missed you at our luncheon yesterday. We know you are very busy now and hope you sell many wreaths this year. We haven't cut our trees yet. Too many things going on in our lives to even take the time to have it done. BTW, Gene said that your KID was a pretty little KID:)
Ha, Ha, Margy, know what you are talking about! Yes, Gene very seldom talks about someones looks, but he means it when he says they are pretty. If they are not, he says nothing at all.
No RED PAJAMAS here this morning. I was so busy last night, cooking a turkey, I forgot it was red pj night:( I'm wearing a red plaid jacket today, so that should make up for the p.j. mistake:)
Oh, MISS NORMA...of course we missed you. We haven't seen you for so long! But we knew you weren't coming...we thought Megan was and didn't. WE LOVE YOU NORMA! We eveb talked about a Road Trip to Romney:)
So glad you got to meet Deb. If she hadn't come to Romney, you would have been the ONLY one not to have met her. I thing EVERYONE of our regulars got to meet her. It was our good fortune to know her. I told her many times that I was glad she joined out group and I meant it with all my heart!
SISSY, I have seen trailers of NEW MOON and it looks like a good movie. I would like to see it myself. I'll wait til it goes to CD. I don't like movie theaters, can't prop my feet up..Tee Hee!
Paula on the other thread thank you for the link to read about "Tiny" the injured eagle. Sounds like eating well and when moved will have room to exercise. Sounds like a chance to later have a eagle released back to the wild. ( :
Good Morning! Sunny and 49F here in R'town...had a nice little storm here late last night!
Wanda, Steve loves my beads! Did you make those? When I am not using them they will be around the neck of my stuffed PANDA "Little Bub". She was a Christmas gift when I was a little girl so she's about 40 now! She sits at a chair at the kitchen table. What did you mean you haven't cut your trees yet? Do you sell Christmas trees?
Hi Lynne - everyone might have scooted off for awhile. Nice to see you... I'm sure Megan will be back to explain the Peace Wreath, I am not very good at answering questions for other people...but if Megan makes it, I can tell you, it is Awesome ! Chiropractor soon, see you later ☺ You know about wearing RED on Friday, right ? For the military, sign of tribute for their service, red shirt, red something... ♥
Thank you Dana for visiting Magpie's Roost...since the pic was more than two weeks old your comment had to come back to me for publishing...just a "comment moderator" thing.
Lynne, I bought the beads from one of my costume suppliers. The trees that I was referring to are some that need to be removed from my deck area. They keep the deck filled with needles. I thould Megan she could have the limbs to use for her wreaths, but we haven't had them cut yet. It is a bit of a major undertaking...need someone to cut the trees down, someone to saw up the trunk and someone to haul it away.
Here is a tip that works for me by the way, also saves aggravation when Blogger Cop gets you:
after I type my comment, I highlight, right click for copy, un highlight, hit Preview, and then publish if it is not filled with typos! Seems to post faster to the blog too. then if Blogger cop gets me, I can just hit paste in the commment box again and start all over Just an idea. Works for me. But I still make boo boos xo
Thanks so much Mits. Tough time for sure but I have learned it is okay to remember and mourn, as long as we keep looking forward. It is easy to get stuck in that sometimes, but great family and friends have helped us so much. Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. WE get through stuff like this TOGETHER, not alone!!
For those not on Facebook...this was posted yesterday...you can ask them for as many or as few copies as you want!
Birds Out Back Message from Wildbird Magazine: "Wildbird wants to disperse copies of the July/August '09 issue before they need to cleared from the printer's warehouse. Who wants many copies of the annual raptor issue? Your local bird club/Audubon chapter? Send an e-mail with # of copies & a mailing address -- by Monday morning to wildbird@bowtieinc.com with "WB 200907" in the Subject line."
Gene and I went to Shoney's one morning last week for breakfast, and they played Christmas music the whole time we were there. It was pretty, but a little to soon for me!
Lynne, wonder if they would send just one copy of the mag??? Guess I can try!! Or if anyone else wants a copy, I can order a bunch---that is what I'll do---I'll get a dozen copies, so just holler!
I think they will, Lynn....They emailed me back pretty quickly yesterday. I asked for 5 of them and they said they didn't even want any postage either! I only NEED 2, but I figured if any of the Momsters wanted the others I could send them along.
SISSY...I was just eating breakfast and listening to Regis & Kelly. They had that Taylor guy who plays the werewolf in New Moon, and the girls went CRAZY! He is kinda cute:)
Good Red Friday Morning All! I have been lurking for about an hour - glad to see so many on this morning. Had to take one pill this morning (Boniva) & wait one hour before eating or any other meds. I go for a bone density 12/2 and it's really going to have to be ok that my bones are aging! I wish they were like a 20 yr old - but, well what do you expect when they have served me so well for soooooo many years
Taylor Lautner, Wanda, and HE IS HOT!! Mattie thinks he is cuter than Edward but I disagree!! I am TEAM EDWARD all the way!! Have you read the books? They are fantastic. Once you start, you can stop reading them!!
33 days til Christmas? yikes..now I really feel behind. Lynne- We are talking about a wreath that looks like a peace sign. hence, peace wreath. Had to make the wreath forms ourselves, luckily we have a neighbor who is a great welder. Gotta get back to work- Just took another wreath order, the pressure's on....Have a great Friday everybody!
Oh, and Paula, hope it's a girl... And Sissy- ((((HUGS)))) from me to you and Tom...(even tho you both nabbed my eagle and took him far away...lol....luv ya anyway!
My eldest and her eldest are very anxious to go see that movie, Sissy. And Jess if very jealous of Mattie's room! She told her dad that she wanted her room painted black----but he talked her out of it! She has read all the books 4 times. Certainly not her grandmas' kind of book or movie! I don/t do werewolves and vampires!
Jo, how about The Mentalist last night? What at twist----and couldn't believe that Bosco died!
OOOHHHHH! I haven't watched the Mentalist yet!! We record it and watch it the next day. Did Red John kill him? No, no, don't tell me! I will watch it this afternoon after work!!!
Hedgie - I guess the Red John case is all his now! Very good show but I didn't think everything was going to happen like it did! Looks like PANana Diann watched it also.
Anxious to see what is going to happen on Criminal Minds ..........
P.S. Did You Know.....pumpkin shortage! Bad weather has caused a huge shortage and Nestles' says they will not be producing anymore Libby canned pumpkin products this season. They have 80-90% of the market....WOOF! Glad I already have mine!!
I cut up the ones we used for decorating for Halloween, cooked em and froze em. Andrew won't let us use canned pumpkin. Daddy spoiled us with the fresh stuff. Plus it is cheaper and goes further.
No, Sissy, I haven't read the books but both my daughters have. Some of those Vampire and Werewolf movies scare the wits out of me, but I love them. (the good ones) like Werewold in London.
Did Mattie get her bedroom decorated in the Twilight Theme yet?
It is almost done, still have to get the stencils on the walls, but the painting is done, gray walls, red ceiling, black curtains. Posters everywhere, life size cutout of Edward Cullen, the whole nine yards!!
Hmmm...red ceiling, I think the Capt. would like that;) Sounds really just right for a pre-teen. When she tires of the vamps and wolves, you can turn it into a Spanish theme, with beautiful dancers and handsome bullfighters! The colors would be JUST RIGHT:)
Paula, can you take a picture of the sonogram with your camera and then put it on your 'puter? Gene does that and it works very well. Try it when you aren't so excited and have time.
Good Morning, Eagle Friends! Got here late again this morning after getting a wonderful night's sleep. Have been reading this morning's comments. Paula, don't remember whether I thanked you last night for the story about Tiny--it's just wonderful! What an inspiration! Love the pictures, too. Well, it's a beautiful fall day here in SoCal! Bright and sunny, and crisp! Got down to 45 last night; it's about 48 now. High of 68 predicted for later. Think it's maybe time to break out the flannel sheets--feet nearly froze last night!
Paula is going to be buying a lot of P I N K PINK toys, clothes, oh yea the girlie diapers, blankets, little sun bonnets and she is going to have a ball doing it. Contragulations Paula, John and Ajay!!!!!
Wanda - don't have anything other than a cell phone camera...didn't even think about it...and they've left now...if she posts the pics later, I'll let you know.
They are excited on her side of the family..grandchildren...only second girl...5 boys!
Good morning! Wahoo! A girl! You do know how jealous I am, Paula. Guess the Good Lord knew what was best in not giving me a granddaughter. I would have sent us to the poor house for sure! Now, you know I love my boys, and I asked for Zach to be a boy, wanted Michael all over again! ha! BUT, a girl is just fun to dress!
Paula, also enjoyed reading about Tiny. What beautiful pictures they had of him.
I was watching Grey's and PP last night sitting on our bed. Gave Jack the big TV to watch the STARS. Anyway, my laptop battery died. Too lazy to plug it in. So, I did not get back on last night.
Slept in this morning. Rain started during the night and it was just a good time to really sleep in. Now, I am going to have to hustle to get to the Country Peddler Craft show.
Oh, I just have to say I have read all the Twilight books and love them. Lynn, it is a love story, not like other vampire books and movies. Laurel and I are big fans. We plan to go see New Moon Friday after Thanksgiving. You can not put the books down once you get into them. The author did a great job getting you to fall in love with Edward and Jacob. Jack, who reads everything, also read them, but has declined the movies. However, Twilight is coming to TV in January. Will re-watch it!!!!!
Hi, Gang, I slipped away for a bit to attempt to catch up on my e-mails, and found one from Bird Girl. She's having surgery today! Prayers for her swift and complete recovery!
Hey, Sharon! Yes, I finally get to do some transcribing! I absolutely LOVE it! That pesky anatomy class was actually worth it! (I knew it would be!) BTW, prayers for you and Sissy and the family today. Oct. 7th is my "touchy" day. We lost our Heather Nicole (youngest daughter, age 15) in 1992 to Wegener's Granulomatosis. If it weren't for our faith, and our family and friends, we would never have made it through, either. (Hmmm...wonder if Deb has met her yet...)Hang in there; I'm with you all the way! ((HUGS)) for the whole family!
Well, will never catch up. Been busy with problem students, classes, and grading police exams.
Prayer for Bird Girl and hope she has a speedy recovery from surgery.
Have a police officer witha three-year-old son and he is all excited about the NCTC nest and Diego's address so his son can watch. So much fun to introduce others to our pride and joy critters.
You and I are on the same page, Judie! Gotta go now and read about 5 long, involved chapters for my new class! DON'T want to have to do it on the weekend! Jim, hope you have a good weekend, too! Actually, hope everyone does!
Judie, That's really neat that you've brought a couple of 'newbies' to the nest! Especially a 3-year-old! Fantastic when such a young one is interested in our feathered and furry friends!

Hey Megan...what's a Peace Wreath?
Hi Lynne -
everyone might have scooted off for awhile.
Nice to see you...
I'm sure Megan will be back to explain the Peace Wreath, I am not very good at answering questions for other people...but if Megan makes it, I can tell you, it is Awesome !
Chiropractor soon, see you later ☺
You know about wearing RED on Friday, right ?
For the military, sign of tribute for their service, red shirt, red something... ♥
Yes ma'am red it is today! Hope you have a good one....missed you yesterday!
Thank you Dana for visiting Magpie's Roost...since the pic was more than two weeks old your comment had to come back to me for publishing...just a "comment moderator" thing.
TTFN xo ☺
Lynne, I bought the beads from one of my costume suppliers.
The trees that I was referring to are some that need to be removed from my deck area. They keep the deck filled with needles. I thould Megan she could have the limbs to use for her wreaths, but we haven't had them cut yet. It is a bit of a major undertaking...need someone to cut the trees down, someone to saw up the trunk and someone to haul it away.
I'm so glad you got to be with the family yesterday ♥ Lynne. We will meet in the future, for sure!
xo bye for now
Here is a tip that works for me by the way, also saves aggravation when Blogger Cop gets you:
after I type my comment,
I highlight, right click for copy,
un highlight, hit Preview, and then publish if it is not filled with typos!
Seems to post faster to the blog too. then if Blogger cop gets me, I can just hit paste in the commment box again and start all over
Just an idea. Works for me.
But I still make boo boos
xo
Ok I was back for awhile now going again to help Ed so I will bbl Oh Lynne I hope we too get to meet. bbl
good a.m. everyone...
remembrance prayers for you and your family today, Sissy
Morning, all!
Time for a new TGIF thread, Steve.
How many days until Christmas? 2 stations I listen to have already gone to the all Christmas music format!
SISSY & TOM...Lots of love being sent your way today. Love you both!
Gene and I went to Shoney's one morning last week for breakfast, and they played Christmas music the whole time we were there. It was pretty, but a little to soon for me!
Bev, sent you an email last night..hope had the address right. Prayers for you all.
audubon Guides

Sissy - thinking about you and Tom, as well as my son, John. It will be one year tomorrow since he lost his Dad.
33 days
814 hours
48822 minutes
2929290 seconds to Christmas
but who is counting?
LOL, thanks Helen!
Hope to be hearing something soon...boy??? or girl???
They'll probably come by with a pic if it's a girl, and call if it's a boy!
I always wanted to have 3 boys, was lucky just to have one child...
that is a cool site, thanks, thanks Lynne
Good morning.
Here's a cool pic:
Shuttle Atlantis
Sissy, as my email said....thoughts are with you and Tom today.
What, Mits...you never wanted girls? LOL---I never wanted boys, and was lucky to get only girls!
OK Mits, you've just made yourself the Official Christmas Countdown Momster!
Lynne, wonder if they would send just one copy of the mag??? Guess I can try!! Or if anyone else wants a copy, I can order a bunch---that is what I'll do---I'll get a dozen copies, so just holler!
OK---done!
I think they will, Lynn....They emailed me back pretty quickly yesterday. I asked for 5 of them and they said they didn't even want any postage either! I only NEED 2, but I figured if any of the Momsters wanted the others I could send them along.
Yep, cool site---don't know how we've missed out on it!! Thanks, Lynne.
goodness, Paula does not seem possible a year has passed:(
Thanks for the website, Lynne
Cool pic, Lynn
SISSY...I was just eating breakfast and listening to Regis & Kelly. They had that Taylor guy who plays the werewolf in New Moon, and the girls went CRAZY!
He is kinda cute:)
my cousin that lives in FLA during the winter, saw it take off...I so would like to see a live lauch before the shuttles end...
Hi Sissy! I want you to know that you and Tom are in my prayers for you losses. ((hugs)) Love Ya!
Thanks Mema Jo! It means so much to us!!
BTW---no Silver Alerts for Anne Marie---she posted on FB that she is heading for Idaho until Tues.
His name is George and he loves it here!!!!
It's a good one Sissy - I don't think we spilled the beans for you!
I can't type! I'll see ya' later.
Guy coming with more wood, and need to make a post office run. Later, gators.
Did Mattie get her bedroom decorated in the Twilight Theme yet?
here is another site I love because you can also here the sounds of the birds as well..
Cornell Bird Search
It is almost done, still have to get the stencils on the walls, but the painting is done, gray walls, red ceiling, black curtains. Posters everywhere, life size cutout of Edward Cullen, the whole nine yards!!
Pumpkins are pretty abundant here in our county. I would guess that Libby will be charging 5.00 a can for what they have in stock:(
Where are the pictures posted from yesterday at the luncheon please?
Canned pumpkin shortage??? Good plan Bev, might go see if the farmer up the road has any left...always wanted to try pie from scratch!

IT'S A GIRL!!!
YAY!!!!
Hmmm...red ceiling, I think the Capt. would like that;)
Sounds really just right for a pre-teen. When she tires of the vamps and wolves, you can turn it into a Spanish theme, with beautiful dancers and handsome bullfighters!
The colors would be JUST RIGHT:)
OH MY GOODNESS...I JUST GOT GOOSEBUMPS!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS, PAULA AND FAMILY!!!!
HOORAY!
We want to see sonogram pict!
The boys are so cute...we just know she is going to be beautiful!
Ok, I am behind and haven't caught up on the blog. Who is having a girl Paula?
HEY...EVERYBODY...COME HERE...WE HAVE A GIRL COMING IN APRIL.
Sissy - Son John and DIL Ajay are expecting A GIRL in April
Just in case Paula fainted...

Her son John & Ajay:)
I got to see the sonogram pics...but they only printed them for her...I don't have a scanner...just the regular black and white pics.
So glad you shared that news with us, Paula. Now, we all have something special to look forward to:)
LOL knew it as soon as they walked in...
Oh WOW!!! Congratulations over and over again!!!! Great news! I LOVE BABIES!!!
Paula, can you take a picture of the sonogram with your camera and then put it on your 'puter?
Gene does that and it works very well. Try it when you aren't so excited and have time.

Congrats Paula,John and Ajay.
On morning everyone.
On Morning, to you too, Ceil:)
IT'S A GIRL -- RIGHT?????
OH YEAH -
DRUMROLL!
Congratulations from me too Paula, and LOVE that pink bootie avatar.
A little baby Momster eaglette...
☺
Wanda's link Just for Fun in case you did not get that yet for the luncheon pictures
meant to put Dana at the start of my last message
Wanda - don't have anything other than a cell phone camera...didn't even think about it...and they've left now...if she posts the pics later, I'll let you know.
They are excited on her side of the family..grandchildren...only second girl...5 boys!
Paula,
CONGRATULATIONS!!! What wonderful news! I bet you can hardly wait!
Congratulations to the whole family!
(The new avatar is PERFECT, BTW!)
Wanda I was so excited for Paula I could not type
I just mailed my check to Birds of Prey in memory of Deb. I was waiting to see if Janie was doing something special but before I forgot I mailed it.
Andrea, I saw your post last night that you were transcribing. Glad you are finally to that point! :)
Awesome news, Paula....a baby girl.....congrats :)
Have a great day!
BBL
Oh, I just have to say I have read all the Twilight books and love them. Lynn, it is a love story, not like other vampire books and movies. Laurel and I are big fans. We plan to go see New Moon Friday after Thanksgiving. You can not put the books down once you get into them. The author did a great job getting you to fall in love with Edward and Jacob. Jack, who reads everything, also read them, but has declined the movies. However, Twilight is coming to TV in January. Will re-watch it!!!!!
I still love little boys though! :) Of course, I am biased!
Oh, I love all my boys, too. But it's nice to have a girl in there somewhere! I have 2 brothers, 2 sons, 2 grandsons, 2 nephews...and 1 niece!
I just love BABIES...the more the merrier:)
Hi, Gang,
I slipped away for a bit to attempt to catch up on my e-mails, and found one from Bird Girl.
Paula, e-card on its way to you with a sonogram pic...:)
been watching the Victoria/Sidney eagle nest this a.m....a bunch of chic-a dees were just in it
Thanks, Mits, really cute!
WOWSIE That is why I came back on!
Pink Booties What a happy day this is
Congratulations!
Hi everyone,
Well, will never catch up.
I'll be back later. Hope everyone is well.
Judie

Jim
Hi, Judie,
Repeat after me, with much feeling:
Thank GOD it's FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
You and I are on the same page, Judie! Gotta go now and read about 5 long, involved chapters for my new class! DON'T want to have to do it on the weekend!
Jim, hope you have a good weekend, too! Actually, hope everyone does!
Judie,
That's really neat that you've brought a couple of 'newbies' to the nest! Especially a 3-year-old!
Fantastic when such a young one is interested in our feathered and furry friends!
