I just told Sissy there was a new thread and she said she couldn't go there until she gets off work! She just said it was so funny, she has eagle cams, panda cam and then me! I love modern technology!
Awwww, love your picture, Helen Thx Steve. Sounds like a great show. Wish I could be there. Getting sunny here & Fubby is at appt. I planned to trim terrible ivy that is climbing up our dead tree trunk playground for the birds and squirrels. F loves it! I thought when he was away, I would get ladder, but after hearing all the horror stories, think I'll just start cutting from the ground! I want to keep it away from the top so it won't cover the flicker hole, etc. Everybody likes to check out that hole.
Only a moment to say hello, and then I'm back up to my eyeballs in Anatomy homework and study for the Friday test! Grrrrrr....still angry because we have all this homework, when the prof said he wouldn't give us any more!! Woof! Matter of fact, DOUBLE Woof!!! Oh--sorry! Felt good to vent.
Helen, I LOVE the picture of Merlin!
Your welcome, Shirley! So much has happened here, I had to take some notes to keep it straight! Glad it helped.
It's a bit dreary here this morning; hope it means another cooler day! Only got to 69 here yesterday--YAY!!!!!!
Well, doggone it, I gotta get back to homework. Had SO hoped to have more time to talk to all of you today! I really miss all of you when I can't chatter! Tell you what--I'll be back in a little while, between homework assignments. Just for a couple of minutes. Sigh...... Have a great day! BBL :o]
Darn...film showing on Saturday and I will be out of town. Hope they have more than one showing.
Loretta, your new photos are WONDERFUL. Don't think it is common to catch a photo of the nicitating membrane. I think Deb got a photo of an owl like that once. Does look like something straight from Halloween:)
Helen, glad to have the picture of Merlin. Now I know that there is a difference between a SLOTH AND A SLOTH BEAR...Sloth bear is more lovable looking than a SLOTH! Could he have died of old age?
that is a possibility, but I think the routine exam, that was performed on him this past Monday hastened his death, he did not recover from the anestesia, he is the 3rd animal to die in the past month from routine procedure, and this has happened before at the zoo....I'm not trying to bash the zoo, but there are some things that concern me.
Paula thanks for the article on Harriet. I thought she was a young eagle and that is why she has such rough looking feathers. Loretta great pictures. Wanda Merlin was up in age but he did not come out of the anesthesia after a routine physical
I tried to click on a link I found at a list of bird cams. The link is blocked at my school, although I can easily get to the nest cam at NCTC. Gonna check this out. If you can't read what it says, click and enlarge it.
yes, Shirley...have seen this site before, alot of the cams we already know about....interesting if you click on the Washington DC Potomac river one it takes you to the my outdoor TV cam, that used to supply the live feed of NCTC nest, before NCTC shut it down, never will understand why they did that.
Actually, Shirley, I think that it is your school server that is blocking the website with that warning. Can't say I've seen the 1-2-3 Webcam site before, but think you should just avoid trying to access cams through the link you used. It doesn't mean that the cam site is bad....it's just that your server is blocking some sites.
Yes, Lynn. It is the school's server. I know that. I just thought it was strange. Already requested a site review.
My dept. chair says it blocks her foxhunting site, and the reason given is that there is alcohol involved, but whether they drink a glass of wine or whatever doesn't have anything to do with the website.
I was surprised to see that the site is classified as "malicious." Would like to know why.
Good Afternoon! Finished shopping and lunch and now I am going to put my feet up! Had lots of fun with my girls.
Wanda - hope Gee Gee last longer than I do out shopping & trying on things. If you all take off Friday - when do you expect to be home? Don't want any silver alerts going out for you!!!
Just stopped in to say Hi. I bet that show on Sat will be awesome. Hope everyone is doing well. I have cam club tonight. Thats always soemthign I look forward to lots.
Hi MeMa Jo Yes Dex and i have been out and about with his chariot alread LOL. He will go to the neighbors while I go to cam club. He actually loves to go over there so I don't worry leaving him with them. Otherwise he is rarely alone more than an hour or so and that only occasionally.
I am just happy that Dex is adapting so well. And especially thrilled that he went to GA with you! Soon you will be going down to the dams to snap pics of those feathered friends of our.
Just read the bio on Harriet. Paula thanks. Once I learned that she was older I thought that her injuries may have caused her feathers to look so disheveled. She is a beautiful eagle.

A bald eagle also made an appearance on the Bird Point cam this week. He hung out on the log in the lake for a while and then back to the tree to watch for lunch. They are awesome birds to watch! So graceful and self assured, truly amazing.
Maybe tomorrow we can get an idea of their other camera sites... They say they change them throughout the day. I wouldn't join up until I could see them.
I'm still working on those @!##%$^&%& homework assignments! Eyes don't want to focus any more, so I'm about to quit for the day. Still have 2 1/2 pages of questions to answer! See why I'm so upset? Thank God for the Gray's Anatomy book that Lynn sent to me! Prof asked a couple of questions that neither the textbook OR several medical websites had answers for! Lynn, good old 'Gray's' saved the day! Thanks again! You're a lifesaver! Hopefully I will have enough time to put together my Project for that class. Gotta do a big poster to go with it. Haven't done much else today--just cleaned up the kitchen and made the bed! Darn, that prof needs to figure out that normal people can't spend 23 hours a day on the internet looking up answers to his questions! Woof!! ...There--I feel better now. Good evening everyone! I just got home a little awhile ago. Conferences went well. Got to talk with some parents I really needed to see. Informed several that report cards were given out yesterday. Funny how many parents had not seen those report cards.
Very tired.
Just learned the news about Fort Hood. How sad.
Andy, I feel for you with all of the assignments. It sounds overwhelming, but you are one tough lady.
Enjoyed reading about Harriet. I had seen you all comment about her before, but didn't know where she was. I made the connections thanks to links you put on here. Enjoy watching her tomorrow!
Hi, Andy....poor girl....you are studying too hard! Glad that Gray's helps...if there's anything I can help with, just holler. Margy, do you have any fun planned for your Fri.?? Speaking of Mass., how is Dorset feeling?
Just a quick hello. 15 hour day has done me in. Will try to play catch up sometime tomorrow but will be at school most of the day. IT people took my computer guts so was not able to check in. Maybe it will be returned tomorrow.
Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Hope everyone had a wonderful day.
Very sad situation at Ft. Hood. Prayers for all. Been glued to TV since coming inside from tree work.Perp was Army psychiatrist of Jordanian background, but born here & from No. VA.Had worked at Walter Reed.
Enough of that! As I said earlier, I wanted the de-ivy the top of our dead tree trunk so it wouldn't cover the Flicker hole that she worked so hard on in early summer. Must be ESP in the air, as while I was gathering my tools on the deck, guess who flew to the treetop & went in the hole? Ms. Flicker!!!Snuck out there & worked before Fubby saw me! He likes ivy! It's okay in the right place, but not somebody's home! And I didn't use a ladder, although he had the nerve to point at it!!!
Seems like I need to check out some pics on your blogs.
The TX shootings - what disgust me the most is when the news comes out with headline info that "Authorities Had Concerns About Suspect at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats." I have a problem with that
Got a call today to bring bummy clothes to Chelsea, as we will be painting tomorrow!! Yuck! We got some special shaped background panels for an exhibit- bet it's them. Gotta go "root in the cellar" for some old sweats. My chambray painting shirt was in the car when it was stolen for a week. So that's a minor thing also gone.
Sorry Shirley, didn't read any earlier posts. Yes,about 1 1/2 years ago ugly SUV I'm supposed to drive (I did not buy it) was the last car in the driveway, taken and an old van left on street. I figured it would reappear when out of gas. In the meantime, was going to go look at new Mustangs!!Police called and it was dumped about a week later. Out of gas!!!Unfortunately, they emptied it---including telephoto lens for camera,Park jacket, hat, etc.
So tonight I was talking with my friend Annette and she was talking about what a miracle has happened in her life that they can just remove her cancer and no chemo or radiation. I tried to tell her beforehand what powerful prayers happen around here and now she is experiencing it first hand. AWESOMENESS! This is stuff that can be experienced but not explained!
I thought so too Margy. Something has been emptying my feeders at night. They are hanging on shepherd's hooks so I am thinking it might be deer. They are still in place in the morning but empty.
Well, dear friends, I have a very early morning---retiree breakfast---so am calling it a day. Don't know how long I'll have to wait at health dept. for vaccine, so may not see you til tomorrow afternoon sometime. Rest well. Hope your Friday's super. Peace and prayers.
News is over. Enjoyed Greys and Private Practice. During commercials checked on the bear who stayed a long time. Saw that deer approach then watched the bear walk away. Fascinating! Like the way the eyes glow in the light.

great story about Harriet, hope I remember it tomorrow
and to think this is a woman who would never go to watch cams.....good Lord, we have created a monster cam lady...:):):)

Thx Steve. Sounds like a great show. Wish I could be there.

Thanks Paula for the article on Harriet. Had to laugh at their friendly arguing on who gets to hold Harriet on the show.
Looks like I may have to get up early to see the show.
And, who is going to see that movie at NCTC. How fantastic! I would certainly be there if I lived within 100 miles!
Darn...film showing on Saturday and I will be out of town. Hope they have more than one showing.

Mits we both we posting at the same time.
that were posting at the same time
I liked reading about her head feathers...so that's why she always looks like she's having a bad hair day! I didn't realize she was 28 either...
Ooops, actually, I read that info about her head feathers on their site...on the left, where it says "meet our eagles"
Quick! Look at the Ape Cam at SD.
First time I ever saw any action on that one.

I still had the page open...
Harriet's bio
Jim, I see the apes there all the time.
Just found something very strange. I am going to try to post it on my blog. "A malicious web reputation????"
I tried to click on a link I found at a list of bird cams. The link is blocked at my school, although I can easily get to the nest cam at NCTC. Gonna check this out. If you can't read what it says, click and enlarge it.
This is the website. Do you all know anything about it?
Website
I can't even get on your blog, Shirley. Going to shut down and reboot and try again!

Just read the bio on Harriet. Paula thanks. Once I learned that she was older I thought that her injuries may have caused her feathers to look so disheveled. She is a beautiful eagle.
That dog can really dance.
Handsome eagle at BWO :)
Cute doggie video..that was a golden :)
Mine dance too, although not that well!
I wonder if they Nat'l eagle center ever tosses, say a live mouse in that enclosure...give the eagles a little hunting excitement :)
Do your dogs dance Paula I mean have you spent time trying to get them to do that. It is really cute isn't it.
Loved the dancing doggie! He should go on Dancing with the Stars! lol
Also read the bio on Harriet. Liked getting to know why she was named Harriet. Gotta remember to turn on the TV in the morning. We never turn it on in mornings.
Jacob's book is coming along. It takes so long! Had to leave it for a while as Jack needed on the computer for a video conference.
Hi all.
Sad news from Ft. Hood...a shooting has left 12 dead and 31 injured at the processing center there. Prayers for all and their families...I'm sure right now there are frantic family members waiting to hear news...
Tragedy at Ft. Hood army base.......12 killed, over 30 wounded in a shooting....
HEY!!! EAGLES!!
Just one in nest now
Ah, still cam pic...both in the est
I couldn't get on to tell you I saw the eagles. arghhhh
.. and they're still there!!
two eagles in our nest!
they are there to put the night light on
Have to say that I am feeling a little calmer and hopeful than I was a couple of days ago. #1---health dept. has gotten in more H1N1vaccine and is having clinic tomorrow---and I meet the guidelines...so will go stand in line.
#2---in this area, it is only the local KFC that isn't serving Extra Crispy anymore; the other 2 do---one is about 12 miles down the interstate, and the other is in CharlesTown right close to my youngest.
wonder what they are looking at
POOF LIB
POOF BELLE
How about that - I just signed in and get to catch the Night Light turner-oner! lol
I see a spidey web....
Heading home, then taking doggies to the vets....BBL this evening.
Rats, just missed them.
Oh well, there'a always manana!!
No, Glo...they don't dance like that...but it you turn up the music and start dancing, they jump up and put their paws on you to dance with you.
I think it would be cool to have your dog dance like that...those golden videos on youtube are pretty cool...maybe when I retire!
Ha Ha pulled a Margyy...
Later!
Eagle at Harriet's nest just flew over to water bucket and is in it now
USeeWildlife
got that address of of the ESPN cam....it changes pics ever now and then...Ceil and I saw an albino deer earler
wow, those are some deer on the USee cam...where is that....there are not deer like that around this part of the country! Saw several albinos and some bucks, one with an atypical rack.
WOW Mits! I was just going to ask you if you thought you saw an albino deer
That site is cool - I guess we could have 3 free days and hope to see the different cam set ups and then subscribe to the site.
Do you think they have a night light?
When we were in New York state around the Finger Lakes area we saw white deer. Wonder if this cam is in that area?
The deer we saw were white deer and not albino deer.
don't know where it is but it is supposed to be live-streaming with night lights....saw some at a feeding stion a little while ago, I have not read all the info on the page yet....but they are supposed to have eagle cams sonetime later in november....if it is good, I would pay 20 bucks( tee-hee, no pun intended) to watch the cams of the different animals, but one guy on ESPN does not agree, said he would not [pay 20 bucks to watch captive deer
ok they area at the feeding station now...love the nightime and bird sounds
Really neat site....it is in Arkansas also. He sees EAGLES there, too! Read the story and look at the animals page!!! Cool!!!
I don't think the deer are captive. He brought some that he had raised from his other place when he moved there....didn't get the impression that it was alot... and they couldn't be released into the wild, so they are probably kept separate.
I was just repeating what one of the bloggers said on ESPM
The site speaks of Birds Point for eagles - I think that is Alaska.
I don't know the difference between a white deer and an albino deer... I need
to google that.
from his October 27th blog.....
A bald eagle also made an appearance on the Bird Point cam this week. He hung out on the log in the lake for a while and then back to the tree to watch for lunch. They are awesome birds to watch! So graceful and self assured, truly amazing.
That site is really very interesting. Been reading on several subjects.
they are loud eaters.....
There is also a herd of deer on the ESPN site now.
They are gone now. Wonder if the bear is around.
they are white deer I had never seen a white deer True albino have pink eyes. I don't think these had pink eyes.
Deer at Okie also
Lots of little field mice running around the feeder getting their fill.
Maybe tomorrow we can get an idea of their other camera sites... They say they change them throughout the day.
I wouldn't join up until I could see them.
I saw those mice.....well I think the only way to see the other cams is to take the 3 day trial period
I got the idea that they change the free cam around as they see fit. You have to pay to go to the cams of your choice.
Yeah, Mits...I was responding to that statement, too.
TV tonight Bones 8pm & then Mentalist
at 10pm. I think that is what I will watch.
Check out Monster Cows---Belgian Blues...real "buff" bulls...just do a google search...they were just shown on news!!!
A Super Cow to say the least! WOWSIE!
Belgian Blues Cow
I would not want to step into one of their cow pies!
How Great, Eagles Twice today!
Sandy Burk is coming up to see the film Saturday at NCTC.
ahhh, I have no comment...lol
x-rated cows
That's a great picture of Merlin, Mits
See that you saw the Dunedin Osprey again.
it was there most of the a.m., Margy
Hi, Everyone,

Boy, I sure appreciate you all! I can't remember a single time when one of you went against your word!
That prof didn't even apologize about it, either. Shame on him!
Hope you guys are having a good day today. I'm lots happier that I've gotta quit the homework because I can't see straight to do any more! Well, tomorrow is another day. Gotta go eat dinner; will be back later, in a MUCH better mood! ;o]

Judie
Good night Judie. Long day here, too, but nobody took my computer guts. Rest well.
Back from the TV show -
Bear is still there WOW!
Seems like I need to check out some pics on your blogs.
The TX shootings - what disgust me the most is when the news comes out with headline info that "Authorities Had Concerns About Suspect at least six months ago because of Internet
postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats."
I have a problem with that
FT Hood press conference on right now.
The shooter is not dead, as previously reported. He is alive, though has been shot several times.
Your car was stolen?
The shooter is in stable condition.
HORRORS! There is a deer sneaking up to the ESPN feeder and the bear is
still there!
The bear got up and the deer took off!
Bear is just wandering off down through the field....
News flash----the shooter is not dead. He probably should be, but maybe they will be able to find out motive & his problems that might help in future.
Might have a dumb deer here - he has returned and is walking down through the field in the same direction that the bear went.
Thank goodness the deer isn't a dumb deer - he is returning away from where the bear went.........
That is weird - is anyone else watching ESPN
A spot light or car light just went on and a deer was seen way down at the tree line.
Saw what looked like the bear off in the distance toward the woods, Jo.
See the deer, now, Jo.
He is a mental case or a terrorist in disguise. They had concerns 6 mos ago....
The deer did return, Shirley.
I'm sure if he hears or smells something he will take off!
He keeps looking our way!
Those birds are crazy looking flying through the infra red light!
I am going to get a snack and then watch 10pm Mentalist TV show.
I guess that is another deer approaching from the left
2 or 3 deer now
Thanks for updating me Loretta. I thought maybe I had missed something that happened recently. I try to keep up. Can't always do it.
No fun to get your car stolen, whether it is really yours or not. Also not good to get your camera euipment, etc. stolen.
BBL after my Mentalist show........
Hi Sharon - saw you after I left
I'll be back in one hour......... or
during a commercial........
Battery about to die on laptop. Too tired to plug it in. Think I should go to bed! Good night.
Stunning, Sharon ♥
Nice collection of birds you named off earlier....lucky gal !
I thought so too Margy. Something has been emptying my feeders at night. They are hanging on shepherd's hooks so I am thinking it might be deer. They are still in place in the morning but empty.
Sharon, that is really great news for Annette! Amen.
Well, dear friends, I have a very early morning---retiree breakfast---so am calling it a day. Don't know how long I'll have to wait at health dept. for vaccine, so may not see you til tomorrow afternoon sometime. Rest well. Hope your Friday's super.
Peace and prayers.
TV show was good! But time to call it a good day!
Good Night All
Prayers for All
((hugs for All)) ♥
RED FRIDAY
News is over. Enjoyed Greys and Private Practice. During commercials checked on the bear who stayed a long time. Saw that deer approach then watched the bear walk away. Fascinating! Like the way the eyes glow in the light.
Going to have a cup of tea and then head to bed.
Nite all!
Sweet dreams!
I'm headed to bed too, Lolly. Hope we both sleep well:)
We are leaving on our little trip tomorrow morning. Will probably be back Sunday. Hope everyone has a nice weekend:)
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
