I emailed Steve, as others might have, concerning Deb. Although the blog might be refreshing slowly, I am still grateful that we were able to stay on the same thread through the day ♥
Can't stop,, I've got the Central Heating repair men coming, our boiler blew up,, we don't have any heating or hot water at the moment, though it's an excuse to light a fire and get toasty toes, Beauty love it when I light a fire,,,, Prayers for Deb and all her family and for Mrs Riffe as well, I hope feels better today,,,,,
A bigger version of my Deb's Magpie (my avatar) is on my Magpies Roost link...in all its beauty. I always cherished Deb's comments on any pictures I posted. So encouraging, all the time. What a mentor....
well, if I could I would slip and say alot of things.....like, for instance....jmho....I would love to have a new fresh thread every morning and not be at the mercy of someone else to give it to us....as we have seen in this rare and unexpected death of Deb...we were all trying to find her last post...which was last Tuesday night...I thought she had posted something later about Merlin, but now, I'm thinking it was in an email to me...
Yes Helen pet,, I've got most of her photo's on file, my fav is the one she took of an Osprey flying down to the water to collect a fish,, it is a beautiful capture,, she was one very talented Lady...... She is going to be so missed..
Best wishes for a good day, everyone, peace and strength. We can have a M.A.D. today, Make a Difference...never know when it might reach someone in a moment of desperation.
((((Good Morning nCTC Bloggers)))) Do something special for life around you today in honor of n8trlvrsd our Deb. Loading up the pop up cam and packing up the pooch to head over for coffee and dog treats but had to come by here first this am. Mashed potatoes at 2 am.hmmmm I was awake then. Can't say I thought of that but more milk and cookies was good. Wonder how many calories have been consumed the last say 12 to 18 hours. We all need to go for a walk and see some of that nature today too for sure :-)
no Wanda, he is out of town for the rest of the week, left yesterday, but was still here, when I got the email from Diann, Deb's sister, asking me to call. I started to cry, because I knew in my heart it would not be good, but glad he was still here, till I got myself together...
morning GLO....GREAT idea...doing something today to honor Deb. I think about 500,000 calories have been consumed in the last 12-18 hours. All for good reason.
Norma, I threw open the curtains and the sun is shining through a beautiful haze and the birds are going crazy and it's all so pretty and I want to feel good, and I will...but I'm still very sad as I know everyone else is too. HOWEVER....it's HARD to stay sad with your cheerful posts, even in sad times! Thanks for that Norma!!
Good morning again all you wonderful folks!! I am in Bristol with Granny this morning. She had a bad night I think, didn't sleep much. She is really confused, which happens with older folks in the hospital some time. Doc should be in soon and then we will have a game plan. Hopefully we can get in the solution soon, get something going toward the healing process. Thinking of my family today, missing Doug (Tom's brother, been gone a year today). Just doesn't seem possible.
LYNN2---Thanks you for hitting me over the head---(think i love you!----I have been feeling 'too' sorry for myself--I do that when I get down!----I didn't even watch the COWBOY game---Now for me that's WAY BELOW ZERO!!---But just heard they WON last night!---It is a beautiful sunny morning -- I hope you have a glorious day!--Think I will hug a child & do a good deed for a friend in need----thanks! ---now if we could only get MOVIN'JIM' to hug a tree!---ho!
It is the morning of the day...a little hazy and chilly. Didn't rest well, like the rest of you. No waking up from a bad dream..... Chrissy, love that poem you posted. Very appropo for our Deb.
Hoping Jo is up and about getting ready to go to the Dr. Told her to plant herself in his waiting room until seen!
Had to laugh at Anne-Marie and Lolly's posts last night about the high-speed chase in S'town! They would be surprised how fast people can manuever in small times when trying to evade the law. He ended up in our county....and I think they lost him heading in Dana's direction.
Speaking of S'town...in our local rag is a section for anonymous comments. A recent writer from S'town COMPLAINED that in the Apple Harvest Festival Parade (held the same day as our Open House at NCTC) a little 4 y.o. girl on a float sang "Jesus Loves Me"....can you believe it?
WHOA SISSY!---There are so many--many prayers for GRANNY!---I just know she is going to be fine!! I had the same feeling with DAVIN'S surgery!!---more prayers as I write...LOVE TO ALL!
Well, I'm off to my Dr's office to pick up my cardio referral. Isn't it odd that you can get a phone call saying that your stress test is abnormal and you can pick up your cardio referral in THREE BUSINESS DAYS. Or in my case 5 total days since I got the call on Wed.! Then when I get home, I'm going to call the VA for the umpteenth time because SIX WEEKS AGO last Friday, Steve had some blood testing and chest x-ray and HAS NOT HEARD A SINGLE WORD FROM THE DOCTOR. Anyway....hope everyone has a walk and talks to God, or does a good deed for someone today in honor of Deb. See y'all later.
someone complained because a little girl sang "Jesus Loves Me" ?? ARE YOU KIDDING?? Well, he should remain anonymous, the yellow bellied coward. My message to that person: "Stay home next year you jackass!! And guess what...Jesus loves YOU too whether you like it or not!" (of course, Jesus is none to proud of ME right now. I always say; I know I'm going to heaven some day, but He will likely put a dunce cap on my head and make me sit in the corner for a while!
and I will be sitting right nest to you Lynne....when I talked to Sharon yesterday, told her I know God does not want to hear me complaining to Him about taking Deb, when there are so many other people He could get rid of on this earth...
MORNIN' HEDGIE---wanted to call you last night--but didn't have #-----tried to forget!!---after doing some reading last night--still woke up this am---must take it a day at a time------GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US!
well Mits, hopefully they haven't called you because everything is fine, but call anyway. We KNOW Steve had an very unhappy high cholesterol reading with HDLs way too low and LDLs way too high. Last year it took 5 weeks for the Doctor to call so this time, we went to the office at the VA where you can sign off to have your test results mailed, so we got them 3 weeks ago. We are working on diet at this time to help get it down. I just think that is UNACCEPTABLE for the Dr to have yet to call him! It makes me VERY frightened for other Veterans who rely on the VA for care.
mine always tells me to call, in about 3 days, after the tests, if anything were seriously wrong he would call me back... I just get lazy about it...and he knows me to well...but your reminder was a big help..now if I will only remember to call him.
yeah....damn straight it is hard...I kind of laugh at people like that, because one day, they will wake up on the other side of eternity, and won't they be surprised....now that is jmho
Oh yes, Lynne...there HAS to be a special place in heaven for all Momsters. We are a rare breed and will probably all be wearing dunce caps and Eagle Beads:)
was thinking the same thing about that Wanda....and you are right, Ceil would be giggling on her way up, and He might change her direction, but the guy below would send her right back....
Good Morning, Dana. GeeGee is still having tummy issues. I truly think it is her nerves. We went to a Church Council meeting yesterday after church and had lunch before the meeting started. She ate everything on her plate, even though she said she couldn't eat a thing!
Dana, Granny Riffe fell last week and has multiple fractures - hip, pelvis, pubic rami, wrist. They have to do surgery when they get her Coumadin level reversed.
That does your heart good, doesn't it Wanda? Think the key to getting the elderly to eat well is to eat with others, rather than alone!
Ha, ha......I can see us now....sitting on the right hand of God in our Eagle beads while we try to explain to the Father that we are the bestest group despite our little slips!!
Lynne, you'll get your eagle beads the first time we meet you in person!!!
My drs. office is really good---they call the next day with blood test results. Sure know what you mean about the VA, Lynne. SIL has to wait til following month apptmt. to get results....and for med changes based on them....dumb!
Megan, were you without power for 12 hrs. Fri. night/Sat. AM??? Blurb in the Herald says 4 poles went down when a regulator fell after a car hit a pole, affecting Sharpsburg and Keedysville.
I think a service at the nest in the spring is a great idea. I will have to let you all do the singing cause I will run off Lib, Belle and any babies with my singing!
Am bringing the hammer down on my block one students. They are plenty smart and can be plenty lazy. Collected homework. Only two out of eight did it and their work was incomplete. No homework=zero in the gradebook.
Quiz tomorrow. They need to redeem themselves.
I read through all of your messages since last night and am thinking about all of you today.
Morning All! Going down for scheduled blood work this am then Dr appointment for 3 pm today. I'll keep you posted. Can't have my coffee until after lab work.
Have not read all your morning comments. Sounds like I better put my eagle beads where I can grab them fast!
Yes I just read here on this blog where she fell and really did a number on herself. Bless our elderly parents. You are right about them eating with others. Mom does that too. Can't eat and when we take her out I don't say anything about how much she just ate hee hee but I do Thank GOD. ( :
3 things for now: 1) Helen is trying to contact Janie about donations in Deb's name. 2) Lynn is putting together a Memorial Book with all your comments either here on the blog or in emails. 3) Offer you condolences on line to the funeral home http://www.2squirrels.com/hansenfuneralhome/view_obituary.php?id=285
I'll call or someone will call Deb's sister Dianne or Pam to get an update on the Memorial to be held.
Oh, my! What a chatty group this morning! I think we are all needing each other today.
Chrissy, your poem was beautiful and very fitting. I think that should be read at Deb's memorial...from us. Of course, it did start the tears all over again.
But, now I am giggling, and snorting with tears running picturing us all at heavens gate with just our eagle beads. That is just a hoot!
The doctors just came in. Surgery in the morning, don't know exactly what time, may be able to tell us this evening. So, we are heading towards a solution.

I emailed Steve, as others might have, concerning Deb.
Although the blog might be refreshing slowly, I am still grateful that we were able to stay on the same thread through the day ♥

Good morning, sort of...Chrissy what a surprise to see you hear and what a beautiful poem. What time is it across the pond?
no Wanda, he is out of town for the rest of the week, left yesterday, but was still here, when I got the email from Diann, Deb's sister, asking me to call. I started to cry, because I knew in my heart it would not be good, but glad he was still here, till I got myself together...
MORNIN' CRISSY!---Thank you---that is truly beautiful!---You are such a lovely--thoughtful person!!
well Glo, had the milk, but no cookies....
morning GLO....GREAT idea...doing something today to honor Deb. I think about 500,000 calories have been consumed in the last 12-18 hours. All for good reason.
Gotta run to the store cause my stupid husband won't go with me. bbl
sorry about that Megan...MEN!!
Love Margy's M A D day idea too!
MARGY -- one thing DEB & I had discussed about SD & WV---Some folks always made jokes about our states......
MORNIN' LYNN2---Hope you are feeling GREAT this am!!!
Mits it must have been SO hard to make that phone call after you got the email. How awful for you.
So good to see everybody on here today except I haven't seen our Mema Jo yet. Hopefully, she is resting this morning.
It is looking like I will be heading to Bluefield maybe this evening. Might be needed there while Granny Riffe is still hospitalized.
We have an Eagle at Bwo
seriously, Miss Sharon...you are not looking for Jo this early are you:)? She probably turned out her lights later than I did.
Mei Xiang and Tian Tian are together in the same yard...as usual, Mei is not that happy about it

Lynne I am with you. Very sad but Deb would not want that.
Megan you can borrow jubby. He will go to the store for you and even bring cookies back.
No Mits, I really wasn't expecting her yet but just miss her when she is not here.
Ceil, could you send him to Bedford?
It is the morning of the day...a little hazy and chilly. Didn't rest well, like the rest of you. No waking up from a bad dream.....

Many counter comments to the complaint in todays edition. AMEN.
yeah well it talks all kinds, doesn't Lynn.
thanks, Lynn, glad you reminded me...had my quarterly blood tests 2 weeks ago, was supposed to call last week, I forgot...

Thelma pointed out to me last night in the pic of Lib and Belle that Deb took, the bark is worn where the eagles stand there a lot.
What was that child thinking? Lynne and Mits I will have to go to heaven in discuise. Is that spelled right?
yeah, I know you will definitely have to go in the back door, you little heathen:):):)
Don't get me started on doctors.
oh yeah, sore spot with you, huh, Ceil
HE loves me.
Off to do some chores. Have a great day.
Ceil, you absolutely could not disguise yourself...you would giggle and give yourself away:)
Wanda you are so right. I am doing that now.
yeah, we'll all be sitting in the "dunce cap corner of Heaven", giggling like bad little heathens. :(
yeah, we'll all be sitting in the "dunce cap corner of Heaven", giggling like bad little heathens. :(
My wish is that we could all get together and have our own MEMORIAL SERVICE for Deb. Perhaps at the nest tree in the Spring?
Oh yes, Lynne...there HAS to be a special place in heaven for all Momsters. We are a rare breed and will probably all be wearing dunce caps and Eagle Beads:)
Sounds beautiful Wanda...or maybe sooner?
OH NO....I won't have eagle beads!
I am thinking we won't be able to enter heaven without our eagle beads, will we?
Morning Eaglelanders
Sorry Jo missed you and Ed's anniversary so HAPPY BELATED 51ST ANNIVERSARY.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO NORMA'S DIVAN.
Sissy what is wrong with Mrs. Riffe?
Mits I'd like to tell that guy too a thing or two about the little girl singing Jesus Loves Me.
Is Gee Gee OK????
Come to see us SOON Lynne to get some Eagle Beads!
My delete it posted twice.
was thinking the same thing about that Wanda....and you are right, Ceil would be giggling on her way up, and He might change her direction, but the guy below would send her right back....
yes, Dana we would all like to have a go around with that guy
I'm sorry, got this picture in my head of a bunch of women arriving at Heaven's gates, with just eagle beads on....
Heathens, that is exactly what we are but of the good persuasion! :)
Good Morning, Dana. GeeGee is still having tummy issues. I truly think it is her nerves. We went to a Church Council meeting yesterday after church and had lunch before the meeting started. She ate everything on her plate, even though she said she couldn't eat a thing!
This is all too good. Now I am picturing the eagle beads, nakedness and maybe a bathroom involved? :) I promise to not go any farther than that! :)
Oh my, Helen. Maybe I should pass out FIG LEAVES at our next gathering to go along with the Eagle Beads;)
ok, I'm laughing so hard I'm snorting....Sharon, don't go there:)
Dana, Granny Riffe fell last week and has multiple fractures - hip, pelvis, pubic rami, wrist. They have to do surgery when they get her Coumadin level reversed.
Me too Mits! Love ya!
That does your heart good, doesn't it Wanda? Think the key to getting the elderly to eat well is to eat with others, rather than alone!

hahaha!! too much you guys! well, I've gotta run. Glad Gee Gee is OK!
My drs. office is really good---they call the next day with blood test results.
Sure know what you mean about the VA, Lynne. SIL has to wait til following month apptmt. to get results....and for med changes based on them....dumb!
and we can join in and sing a heavenly verse of On Eagles' Wings
Well, who knew Hurricane Ida was nearing Florida's coast. If Train doesn't twitter it or you all put it on here, I don't know squat! :)
I have been watching that one, Sharon...we may get some rain and breeze later in the week, from its remnants
Hi folks,
My planning block. . .
Am bringing the hammer down on my block one students. They are plenty smart and can be plenty lazy. Collected homework. Only two out of eight did it and their work was incomplete. No homework=zero in the gradebook.
